Help a family of disabled trans folks get some groceries?
*Long-suffering sigh.* I've been putting off making this post as long as humanly possible, but we are once again out of money and nearly out of food.
The free food distribution events in town don't always have things that meet my family's dietary needs (we have sensitivities, allergies, and one of us keeps kosher). We aren't able to get food stamps (yes, we try regularly). We have some shelf-stable basics (and by that I mean sacks of rice, because it's the only food people ever seem to want to buy for poor people), but we don't have any of our frozen safe-foods, any dairy, any meat, any fruits or veggies, any of the stuff that requires refrigeration. We also still have to worry about things like medications, pet food, putting gas in the car, and various other life expenses.
I say all of this because every time I have to make a begging post, people try to give advice instead of aid. I promise y'all, we've exhausted our options. Yes, I know about the subreddits, yes I know about free food groups, yes I have made Amazon grocery lists in the past for shelf-stable needs, yes I know about federal aid options. I have explored them. My wife works full-time and all four of us have side-hustles, and it's not enough. We still need cash.
If you've read this far and are able/willing to help out, here are my family's pay links. If you can't help, even a reblog does a lot. <3

source by KartFox on Furaffinity, Feb 19, 2015
(ps: unfortunately you cannot see the link unless you're logged to furaffinity! i had to make an account to find the source haha)
(ps2: sorry for not letting that more clear, but this is a photoshopped image, not a real suit! the op just really liked taurs so they edited over their own fursuit to see what it'd look like as a taur. wish we could have real ones...)

Raphael is the funniest antagonist in the game to me, he's a powerful devil trying to steal your soul and speaks to you in rhymes that he probably practices in the mirror, he has his own incubus that says he's a bottom only and bad in bed, and then you can call him out. You can go and rob him blind and then kick his ass in his own house.
You can ask some guy he had you kill if he wants to help you kick his ass, and if you convince him he'll go 'yeah sure I bet you'll win' while Raphael is standing right there.

It was last June - a one night stand with your coworker at the summer holiday kickoff happy hour. When he came inside of you, you thought your birth control would handle it. Then two weeks later you realized your boobs were spilling out of your bra… and your lower belly started getting firmer. As you looked in the mirror and turned to the side, you noticed a curve and gasped. How were you already so pregnant?
You were so embarrassed, you had to switch to remote work. You couldn’t handle facing your coworker again. Until one day, your boss told you that you needed to come in for a necessary in-person meeting. “Fuck,” you thought.
Well, it turns out the guy who did this to you also needed to be at this meeting. His eyes went wide as you went into the room, only 5 months and looking like you’re about to give birth at any point. Noticeably out of breath. You make eye contact and instantly know that June wouldn’t be the last time he fucks you.
It also turns out triplets run in his family.
Later that night, he was happy to find out you were even hotter with a giant belly filled with his babies. He can’t wait to fuck you for these next four months, until you can’t even get out of bed. Just lay there and grow for daddy. Good girl 😇

Saw this post on the Pokemon Reddit that I wanted to share to Tumblr!
Text ID: So I'm a former animal caretaker and an amateur naturalist. I like when pokemon designs have practical elements that would make sense (as far as a fantasy monster go) in the real world. While riding Koraidon, I had an epiphany. It's throat wheel is actually a sac for storing air! So consider lizards, who are a big part of Koraidons design. When a lizard runs, it needs to hold its breath. To breathe, they need to either slow down considerably or stop completely. That's why lizards only run in short bursts. Koraidon (and by extension cyclizar) inflate a wheel-like organ on their throat when running. This helps them sustain their speed for longer because the air in the throat sac is holding extra oxygen which they can gulp down as needed! It isn't just an aesthetic design because they're riding pokemon based on motorcycles, it has an evolutionary purpose 🤯 Anyway, thanks for coming to my TED talk. End ID

The term “filler episode” is blatantly misused in fandom spaces and it's really goddamn annoying.
In the book "Manga and Anime Go to Hollywood: The Amazing Rapidly Evolving Relationship Between Hollywood and Japanese Animation, Manga, Television, and Film," by Northrop Davis, Davis explains the that concept of a “filler episode” in animation comes to us from anime adaptations of manga. Anime is frequently produced at a faster rate than manga, which means that anime adaptations of manga often have to come up with their own “filler” stories to slow down the pacing of the main narrative, because the manga isn’t finished yet.
"Filler" does not mean "low-stakes episode that doesn't progress the main plot." Filler does not mean "character moments that you did not like." "Filler" does not mean "anything that isn't breakneck-paced main plot."
It's a specific term and you are misusing it.

To add to the discussion about plagiarization and misinformation, one thing I know that can contribute to complacency is how much time and effort it can take to fact check everything you watch. That's daunting for most people, let alone people who don't have as much experience with it or who deal with disabilities and executive dysfunction.
But there are some things you can do to minimize damages that are easier to manage on a more individual basis.
You don't have to necessarily fact check every single thing every creator says in every video in order to make sure they're 100% legit every time. I know not everyone has the mental bandwidth to do that sort of thing constantly. Generally it's okay to just practice some mindfulness and not blindly trust someone if you haven't vetted their claims personally.
What you can do is fact check yourself. Don't repeat stuff you hear from a video as if it is a fact unless you have looked into it yourself first to confirm that what the video said about it is true and that their sources are good. And if you source someone make sure you've vetted them specifically and checked their own sources on that particular topic or bit of information (and check that they even HAVE sources to begin with and aren't just copying their sources verbatim). You can't source every video essay you ever watch or check every single one for plagiarism, but you can source yourself and what you say, and make sure you're not spreading bullshit or citing the wrong person. If you find that you don't have the energy to do even that much in a given moment, then just keep the information in question to yourself for the time being until you do have the energy to verify it.
And some stuff that's generally just good practice: if it's a topic that you're particularly interested in, it's a good idea to seek out more than one video about it from more than one creator. The more diverse your sources of info on the topic the better, especially if you seek out more than just the popular stuff. Get a broader picture of it from a wide variety of people from a wide variety of demographics. It's a lot easier to spot stuff like plagiarism if you're looking at more than just one or two channels, and even if you don't spot it, because they're often good at hiding it, you at least can make sure that you're giving more obscure creators the same attention as well instead of only defaulting to the most popular wide-spread creators and content.
Seeking out more than one type of medium is usually a good idea as well. I know reading stuff like written papers or essays or books on a topic can be difficult for some people, but if you can manage it even just occasionally then branching out every once in a while is still worth doing because it gets you out of one particular information sphere and into another, reducing the chances of an echo chamber effect. If you can't bring yourself to do that much homework on a topic, then again remember to keep in mind that your knowledge about it is limited and could be wrong, and don't spread that info without doing your own research first. Videos are not inherently a bad way to learn about stuff, papers or books can be wrong, and plagiarized, and badly sourced, and can spread misinformation too, my main point is that it's good to avoid having your information come to you through a single choke point if you can help it.
It can be exhausting trying to hold every online creator accountable on an individual basis, I get that, so I don't expect everyone to extensively peer review every channel they ever watch, but at the end of the day you can at least make sure to try and hold yourself accountable first and foremost.
