“AND MY HEART SCREAMS: IT’S ALWAYS BEEN YOU”
— the moment dazai, chuuya, kunikida, fyodor, nikola, ranpo, and fukuzawa knew they wanted to spend their entire life with you
Tumblr media Tumblr media
DAZAI OSAMU: the moment he revealed his scars to you—scars that told of the past, details of the past, details that he thought he would never reveal. there were multiple outcomes, but his lonesome heart forced him to expect only one: you getting disgusted and perhaps even refusing to stay any longer. he wouldn’t blame you if you did.
so imagine his surprise when your eyes held nothing but sympathy and the utmost tenderness as you gently kissed his scars and whispered only one sentence, ‘I just wanted to be able to be by your side then’. what was he supposed to do other than pull you close and embrace you tightly, burying his face in your hair to hide a face that failed this once to master the mask?
NAKAHARA CHUUYA: when you went out of your way to prepare an unwinding night for the both of you. chuuya loves his with his entire heart and trusts with his entire being. and he sometimes doesn’t know just what to expect from people. so seeing you put so much effort into ensuring his happiness and your own had a certain hold on his heart.
he loves you unconditionally so when you responded to that love with the same intensity, he couldn’t help but gravitate towards you even more. he falls harder, but you’re there to catch him a smile. he approaches you, unaware of what will slip out of his mouth—a desire that has been on his mind for far longer that he thinks, “marry me,” he whispers, gentle and hopeful eyes looking at your own.
KUNIKIDA DOPPO: he is a man who sticks to his ideals and those ideals are to protect others not himself. it pained you, seeing him so ready to sacrifice himself to try and follow up to said ideals till the end. so you held his hand, crying about how you don’t want him to be so careless with himself and that your heart can’t handle seeing him choose his own death as a solution anymore.
he found himself breaking down and pulling you into a tight embrace, constantly murmuring ‘I am sorry’ with kisses pressed on top of your head and reassuring that he will always stay with you. your hold on him doesn’t falter as you feel his tears and he feels his heart getting even more fond of you, his dear true love.
FYODOR DOSTOEVSKY: entertainment is something he loves, but it surprises him when he can’t handle entertainment at your expense. when he goes through his plans, even when the most ‘fun’ option involves you, he doesn’t choose it. he finds himself unable to put you in danger he knows he can avoid.
he doesn’t fight the place you have acquired in his heart; instead, he goes to you and his head finds home on your lap. his hand caresses your own and he looks at you with longing like you’re the epitome of what he truly wants for himself. a gentle whisper of your name and you look towards him and he finds sanctity in your gaze. the true form of purity: your love that he succumbs to and accepts as a part of his being.
NIKOLAI GOGOL: when you showed him that you truly understand or even try to him. you don’t call him a maniac or a monster; instead, you smile patiently, heart open for him, and ask him to tell you more. and he does. words spill out of his mouth in an unbelievable speed, thoughts—a jumbled mess—are thrown into the air and you listen.
emotions—the shackles of humans—overwhelm him in a way that he is surprised that he doesn’t hate. His legs grow weak and he falls at your feet, screaming, crying, and repeating a mantra of I love you. when he does calm down, he takes your hand and puts it on his face. he is now held back by love, shackled by you. he knows and he—somehow—doesn’t mind. he just sinks deeper.
EDOGAWA RANPO: when you slept in the office, beside him, while he was planning their next move. it is not often that ranpo actually works. so, it wouldn’t have made him upset if you left because with all his confidence, he values your smile the most. but you stayed, you always did. ‘y/n, you can go back home you know,’ he had murmured, patting your head with a small grin, but you just told him to shut up and you cuddled closer to him.
it’s not the first time you hugged, but, for some reason, this certain hug had him tightening his arms around you before shouting about how he needs to get done quicker so his sleeping beauty can rest properly with an undeniably lovesick and joyful grin on his face.
FUKUZAWA YUKICHI: when you patted his head with a murmur that you trust him. in the eyes of others, it is ultimately meaningless and silly. yet, to him, that single gesture meant the world. and behind closed doors, he rests at ease, knowing his heart is in your hands.
he dotes on others like a strict father, yet when the same affection and trust is thrown at him, he can’t help but smile helplessly while you stroke his hair and pull him close. he also feels his heart set ablaze when he sees you laughing and pulling on his hand, wanting him to join whatever fun you’re having. and he follows you, like he always did and always will—with a smile so serene it tugs at your own heart.

Not your Typical Confession
Chuuya x Reader
Gonna edit in the morning
Tumblr media
Chuuya Nakahara was an enigma to all of those lucky enough to have met him and live to tell the tale.
Stronger than stone, a certain kind of elegance akin to nature itself. Brilliant as blossoms off the trees of spring. Loyalty bleeding throughout every vein. Onto vines of care and protection he let grow to only his closest companions.
One of which was you.
So when you see him kick back his motorcycle stand before walking towards the entrance of the port mafia, you feel intrigued.
A tug on your heart that seems to physically pull you in his direction.
Mouth moving faster than your feet.
“Wait up!”
“Hm?”
He hummed in his usual late night tired tone.
Stars barely visible from the city lights blowing the scenery up in a warm glow.
Rain just having calmed moments before, when he turned you could see the contact his boot made with a little puddle.
Dreary was the night.
And dreary were his eyes.
“Hi! Just me.”
God, was your bright tone infectious.
“I noticed that.”
Something was off. A lack of sarcasm that his words always held. Mean in textbook, but humorous in tone.
This was cold.
“…no need for attitude.”
Suddenly that stupid little puddle was really catching your eye.
“Yeah, well no need to be a nuisance. And we still stand.”
Did his voice always have such a desolate tone? Maybe with his enemies on harder missions, or when Dazai said something that seriously made him upset.
“…”
“I need a drink, so read the room and scram.”
Oh wow, maybe his tone is just this cold. And maybe he did need that drink.
“I- well… umm.”
“Spit it out. You can’t seriously ha-”
Fuck his tone, and fuck that stupid puddle.
“I’m only ever nice to you, but tonight you’re so mean!”
One drop of water falls from a leaf, then two, then…
“I’m always mean.”
“Not to me.”
Drop three.
“Well I’m not always nice. So the point you’re making is? You can’t make me happy, so give up.”
“…what happened?”
You could feel your heartbeat in your fingertips. It was faster than normal, as if you were in some high intensity fight.
“Just work. So forget about it.”
His eyes rolled back, the kind of thing a child would do when they didn’t get what they wanted.
“…no.”
“What? I said for-“
“No! You’re being a total dick to me as of late and for that I think I deserve to at least know why.”
Rarely did you stand up to your friends. Stranger or enemies, sure? But this was out of imagination for your actions.
Had the world stopped spinning? Maybe it had, because time definitely stopped for the both of you.
Air was even still. Not daring to bother your outburst.
“It’s not fair, I hate it. I hate this, I hate us! When we are “friends” one day but the next you act as if you want me gone.”
Not a single part of him reacted. On the outside, at least. Every stab wound he’d ever obtained could not have been this painful combined.
To see you break.
“Maybe I do care too much. Maybe I do overthink your every little action, but there isn’t anything else good for me to focus on.”
His voice had changed, for a quality you could notice. To something soft. One he always used after a tough mission of yours while comforting you. Soothing you with gentle words and petting your hair.
But something new was there. A sense of desperation.
“Am I all you have here?”
“…”
Never had silence felt so haunting. Slowly carving the scene into a sculpture of perfect stillness.
“I have these beautiful thoughts, and a world that fascinates me. Societies I can look in on and be a part of. Ideas that I may only ever understand in the moment, and actions that I make knowing I’ll regret them even after I die. But people? You’re the only human I can actually trust.”
“I’m sorry.”
“What?”
“I’m sorry. I’m so fucking sorry. Fuck, I didn’t mean to swear, wait. Shit- wait! Damnit…”
His hat tipped low so you couldn’t see his eyes.
“…huh?”
“I hate to swear around you.”
His arms crossed over his black suit. Red shirt still visible from underneath his arms and jacket.
“That’s not my confusion.”
“I know. Just… I can’t bring myself to stomach the idea that I’ve been neglecting you.”
He spoke with a hesitation on the words of confession.
“Neglect is a bit much.”
“Not when you’re the only thought I like to have on my mind.”
Brown/blue eyes flickered up to you. He fiddled with the cuffs on his suit sleeves.
“I think too much, but for so many thoughts you’re the only positive one. And I’m sorry for neglecting you.”
“Chuuya…”
“I don’t have anyone else either.”
He was vulnerable. Never had he ever willingly showed that side of himself to a single person he’d ever known. He’d cried, he’d screamed, but never once had he put down his strength and displayed his feelings in such a way.
Ready for whatever punishment you could cause. Taking those now exposed feelings and plucking each heart string until they all wore down. Snapping at a delicate touch.
And this was his reality. That he hated caring for you.
And yet he’d die before he’d stop caring.
Only now was he aware of all this.
“Why?”
“What?”
“Why now? Why now have you been getting further away from me?”
“Because I can’t admit to myself that I need you.”
There it was, the hideous truth. A truth that he only just now came to terms with.
“I need you, because I love you. Well, at least I think I do? You make the world so bright. Every morning is worth while, and work is worth the fight. I have to stay healthy so I can protect you. See that smile every day. And when- when you call me human. It’s all there. All I need, you.”
If Chuuya wasn’t human, then what could explain this intense urge to pull you close and tell you all that’s good within you? What he loved.
So he did just that. Pulled you into a close hug, down into his red work shirt that smells of cologne.
“I love you too, Chuu. More than I ever realized.”
Maybe this wasn’t the perfect confession, but perfect isn’t irrelevant when you’re in his arms.

#A NIGHT TO REMEMBER, o. dazai!
a special oneshot!
description, it’s special to know how the other feels. to communicate is the best, though, dazai isn’t one for words but it’s fine, you’re the same. neither of you can put the feelings you have into words.
— story contains, angst, established relationship, swearing, suicide mentions, depressing talks, “no longer human” connections i think?, r! psychoanalysis’s i guess?, mental health, trauma talking, character deaths, if i missed anything let me know! gender neutral! reader.
“why are you writing this?” bc dazai is one of the characters i heavily relate to on another level. hes so much different from mizuki akiyama and satoru gojo. and this is just me talking a lot about dazai’s character and analyzing him… btw, r! wears a black blazer (or leather jacket) white button up with a black waist coat, either brown shorts or pants (maybe black of u want), underneath the shorts or pants are like black tights and slip on penny loafers.
Tumblr media
long before you started dating dazai, there was an obvious connection that you only saw and felt. obviously, you were friends during those time periods because you worked in the same place, everyone there were friends.
though, the friendship you two had were entirely different from the rest, had the same humour but showing it differently. you wouldn’t lie and say that dazai flirting with you just to ask for a double suicide didn’t concern you, because it did. there’s no doubt that he’ll try and eventually succeed (although, death doesn’t accept him).
there’s nothing that can kill this man, no matter how hard he tries. you picked that up during one of his failed attempts, it almost succeeded if kunikida wasn’t there, you thanked him a ton. all he said in response is that; “i have to look over that idiot one way or another.” no matter how much dazai annoys his coworkers, they still care.
when dazai tries to commit and somewhat fails, it’s almost like he’s punishing himself for still being alive. you know his past, after all, you were in port mafia with him, even though you two didn’t work together or how he didn’t know you during that time, you sure knew him.
he was surrounded by death, in the port mafia and the ada, it follows him yet never accepts it’s his time to come to the afterlife. he makes these plans that somewhat end up succeeding though he hurts himself in the process, always worrying you. what if eventually death actually accepts him at some point?
dazai has been extraordinarily smart every since he was a kid to the point where he’s been dehumanized by dubbing him; “the demon prodigy”. you didn’t know anything about his parents, you did know what drove him to be tired of living. he’s tired living, bored by life and the people around him, to him, they are easily predictable and manipulated that nothing can surprise him.
he can’t find sense to the world but most importantly, he doesn’t find sense in life, he ends up reverting to extensional depression, continuing the cycle he lives in.
dazai has been exploited ever since he was 14 and taken into the port mafia by mori. he was kept alive by mori, by chuuya, by everyone. he was used until there was nothing left. he never had any love nor hope (that he’d ever have someone to understand him) until a friend he later brought up to you, oda.
he truly believed he deserved everything that happened to him in the port mafia.
you believe that younger dazai never believed that he could be better, but if he’s changing now than he always had the ability to change, just never tried. he was sure the mafia was the only fate he had and the only place to escape of living.
then oda died. dazai was free, with ango’s help of wiping his criminal records. without ango’s help, he would’ve never been free from mafia, though he knows his past will always haunt him, he’s accepted that. he also knows that his indebted to ango, he knows he owes him.
since oda’s death, dazai’s trust had ran thin and he’s always on guard, his ability to open up to anyone had been cut off because he can not lose anyone again. the things he cares about and didn’t wanna lose, is lost the moment he gains it.
his plans always evolve other people, rather to manipulate or exploit. you don’t blame him, if it meant surviving, you would do it too.
he is someone who jokes but never opens up nor can be his true self. he’s a wreck who will drag anyone else down with him, that was a price you had to pay for dating him. he repulsed the idea of love and being in a relationship with you because of how he’ll be afraid of losing you.
dazai dated you as a joke, to see how thing will end, until he realized that you were somewhat different. you were always one step of ahead, had almost the same ability that involved contact, and you had this missing glint in your eyes. that’s just the surface though.
dazai knows there’s more to you— he doesn’t know about your connections to the port mafia though— but he doesn’t bother bringing the topic up to you though nor does he like talking about it.
at nights like this, where he’s staring aimlessly somewhere and devoid of emotion, he’s completely vulnerable in your shared dorm. sitting on the couch, cheek on the palm of his hand as the other searches the cold touch of your hand, seeking for some company.
—and you’re there. sitting on the couch with him and a book discarded in your lap, only staring at dazai with a look of curiosity and content, he looks peaceful despite the war going on in his head.
(you were memorized by the destruction he creates and has, it was peaceful to know what beautiful destruction that dazai carries with him).
when dazai feels the cold skin of your hand, he could feel his ability cancelling yours out as your hand covers his, holding it tightly yet so soft that he wonders if you’re even there. dazai finally looks at you, face still devoid of emotion, watching you reopen your book.
“morning, sleeping beauty.” you hummed softly, an amused tone with your words. dazai groaned and knocked your book off your lap, kicking his legs up into your lap and laying down, now staring up at the ceiling.
hearing dazai go silent wasn’t rare, it was rather common when you two are in your shared dorm, but not hearing him say something stupid back confused you.
you turned your head to dazai, taking notice of his eyes that threatened to pour tears in front of you, “you okay, ‘samu?” knowing him for a while now, he wouldn’t open up and talk about his feelings. it’s fine though, you’re like that too, and you wouldn’t mind waiting forever even if it didn’t come.
dazai didn’t respond.
he never did.
he closed his eyes and if you listened closer, you could hear the shaky breath that he exhaled. taking his hand in yours, you placed a chaste kiss to his palm, the contact making dazai open his eyes slowly and sit up on his elbows.
“when are you gonna leave?” he’s says stupid shit all the time, it doesn’t effect you, none of his words effect you. it should’ve effected you but it didn’t, and dazai could tell by the unamused look on your face, “when are you gonna take your life seriously?” you lightly jabbed at him, hearing him scoff and mutter ‘hypocrite’ underneath his breath.
dazai sat up properly, scooting closer to you and grabbing your hand, setting his head on your shoulder. dazai’s touch starved but refuses any contact that doesn’t involve him initiating it, you’re an expectation, you’ve always been every since the relationship started.
silence took over you, the fan in the background aswell as dazai’s calming breath stirring you into a tired state, laying your head on dazai’s head (knowing the neck pain wouldn’t be worth it tomorrow).
“y’know i’d wait, right?” dazai hums underneath his breath as a response, “how do i know you’re not lying?” and you scoff. rolling your tired eyes, for a guy like him to ask you that question is amusing. “we’ve been lying to eachother for a while but i’m not lying about this, ‘samu.”
the former executive makes himself more comfortable in the crook of your neck, forcing you to lay down and keep him close, “i know.” the words came out muffled, and alas, his eyes are shut again and his sleeping in your arms that are now warm.
with him being asleep, you could pick out the smallest details about the boy in your arms. in your arms, he isn’t the former demon prodigy, in your arms, he isn’t a former port mafia member, in your arms, he isn’t a dehumanized person.
he’s just a boy.
osamu dazai isn’t one for words, but it’s okay, because you’re not one for words either. it’s gonna be like that for awhile, or forever, only time could tell. dazai knows this; you know this. and since dazai’s betrayal to the port mafia, he’s changing, but if he’s changing now, he was always capable of changing, he just never cared enough to try.
osamu dazai isn’t one for words, neither are you.
tick.

should've said no,
Tumblr media
content: dazai x fem!reader, toxic relationship, lovebombing, gaslighting, manipulating, cheating, fighting, swearing, angst no comfort, kinda ooc but kinda not, semi-proofread, trashy writing
a/n: had a mental breakdown abt my ex so i was like 'our whole relationship would be a good story' so yeah!
Tumblr media
you knew, you always knew that dazai had a way with women. he was handsome and charming, he could easily get any girl he wanted with just a few words, and that's how he got you.
a year ago, you went to a formal event with your friends. you were third-wheeling with them and their boyfriends, as expected. taking small sips out of your glass, enjoying the tart and sweet taste of wine, you sat there unaware that you had caught someone's eye.
"what's a pretty girl like you sitting alone here?" a feathery voice from behind you snapped you out of your thoughts, you turned back to see a brunette man with a handsome face, no, handsome was an understatement. he was gorgeous.
"my, my...you are indeed pretty," he says in a gentle voice as if you'd float away if he wasn't careful. you got a bit shy and looked away, averting your gaze to cover up the flustered look on your face. "hey...look at me." the man whined,
those were the exact same words he said that pulled you back to reality, stopping your sweet moment of reminiscing on the first time you both met, at a party, where you both danced the night away.
and now you barely even hold each other anymore, "y/n...look at me!" he yells as he grabs your chin to face him, "listen to me! god, what is going on with you?" he yells again.
oh...right. the two of you were in the middle of an argument, it all started off with a backhanded comment, now both of you are fighting in the middle of the night. "what's going on with me? what's going on with you!?" you yell back, "you've been staying out late and you don't even tell me why! don't you know how worried i get?"
"how many times do we need to talk about this...I'm out working okay!? I just got home and you're already yelling at me...give me a break, I've had a long day..." he groans as he adjusts the collar of his blouse, a habit he does when things get too heated. but as he adjusts his collar, something caught your eye, something red.
"what is that?" you asked, dazai's face went pale when he hears your question because he knew exactly what you were talking about, "what's what?" he replied, his tone becoming calmer and quieter to avoid suspicions
"that." you said as you walked over to him and pulled down his collar, lipstick marks.
you let go of his collar as you let out a quivering gasp, tears forming in your eyes. "b-baby...it's not what it looks like, okay!?" dazai gently grabs your shoulders before pulling you into a hug, trying to comfort you and stop you from crying, but instead, it only fueled your anger even more because you got to smell the cheap, floral perfume on him.
"it was for a case at the agency okay? i...i had to get information from someone a-and.." he paused, losing the words he was about to say when he saw your face stained with tears as you looked at him with disgust and betrayal. "baby...just trust me, okay? it was for a mission...nothing more, okay? you're the only one i love." he says as he tightened the hug, making soothing motions on your back to try and comfort you, to earn your trust again.
"believe me..please? I'm sorry I didn't tell you...forgive me please? forgive me if you love me, baby...you trust me, right? because you love me?" dazai shaked your shoulders gently, looking at you with pleading eyes, urging you to believe him.
but you were always an understanding girl, weren't you? you always gave people second chances. and that might've been the worst mistake you made.
"y/n..say something!" he shakes you again, "I..I believe you." you say with hesitation, to be honest, you didn't. but he loved you, right? just like he said in that party a year ago...he loved you.
"r-really? I'm glad...you're not mad at me, right? you don't hate me?" he sighed, relief washing over him. his words made him seem so genuine, his face looked so innocent but there was still a part of you that didn't believe him at all. "fuck...you hate me, don't you?"
you get nervous at his words, your heart ached as he said that, "n-no! no, I believe you...I promise. nothing you do could ever make me hate you.."
dazai smiled softly and kissed you on the forehead, his mood shifting as if none of this happened.
months went by after this incident, he still came home late, some nights he didn't even come home. everytime you tried to talk to him about it, he'd get defensive and start yelling at you, calling you stupid to think that he was anywhere else but work, defending himself when all you did was ask him "where have you been?"
your friends warned you, your parents told you, your colleagues tried to talk to you but dazai had messed up your head so much that you were blinded by a false sense of love,
"so you'd rather listen to your friends than your own boyfriend!? why won't you trust me? y/n...come on, trust me!"
dazai's words echoed in your mind, you wanted to believe him. you wanted to trust that the man you loved wouldn't betray you, that there was a valid reason. his late nights turned into weekends away, excuses grew flimsier, and the distance between you widened with each passing day. yet, every time you tried to confront him, he would turn the tables, making you feel guilty for doubting him, for questioning his loyalty.
your friends' warnings fell on deaf ears, drowned out by dazai's promises of love and devotion. you clung to the hope that things would get better, that the man you fell for would return to you.
as the months passed, the weight of your doubts grew heavier, suffocating you with each passing day. you tried to bury them beneath layers of false assurances and forced smiles, but they refused to stay hidden for long.
the click of the door jolted you from your thoughts, but the sight of dazai didn't bring the relief you craved. his expression was unreadable, his eyes avoiding yours as he shuffled into the room.
"hey, i'm home," he mumbled, his voice barely audible above the silence that hung between you.
you opened your mouth to speak, to confront him, but the words caught in your throat. instead, you watched in silence as he moved past you, his presence heavy with unspoken truths.
"we need to talk," you finally managed to whisper, your voice trembling with emotion.
dazai's gaze flickered with guilt, and he nodded wordlessly, the weight of your words settling on his shoulders. you took a shaky breath, preparing yourself for the conversation that would shatter everything you thought you knew.
"hmm? okay..." he hummed as he sat down in front of you, "what did you wanna talk about, pretty? oh, before that, i got you a gift! do you like it?" he says as he presented you a big box of chocolates that would probably take you weeks to finish. he was always like this, wasn't he? showering you with love and gifts, burying you with compliments every time he knows you're about to slip away to make sure you shut up and forget about the messed up things he did.
"it's not about the chocolates, dazai," you murmured, your voice barely above a whisper.
he frowned, confusion flickering across his features before he plastered on a charming smile. "of course, my love. what's on your mind? you know you can tell me anything," he said, his voice oozing with faux sincerity.
you took a deep breath, gathering the courage to lay bare the truth. "i know about the other women, dazai," you said, your voice trembling with suppressed emotion. "i know about the lies, where you've been going all these nights. i can't do this anymore."
for a moment, there was silence, the weight of your words hanging heavy in the air. and then, with a scoff, he leaned back in his chair, his smile slipping into a sneer.
"oh, is that what this is about?" he said, his tone dripping with condescension. "you really think you can just walk away from me? after everything I've done for you?"
"i deserve better than this, dazai," you whispered, your voice barely audible above the roaring storm of emotions inside you.
but he just laughed, a cold, mocking sound that sent shivers down your spine. "deserve better? you think anyone else would put up with you?" he spat, his eyes ablaze with contempt. "you're lucky to have me, y/n."
with a heavy heart, you rose from your seat, the weight of his words like chains around your ankles. you wanted to scream, to lash out at him for the pain he had inflicted, but you knew it would only fuel his cruel satisfaction.
instead, you turned away, your resolve hardening with each step you took toward the door. his laughter followed you, a haunting echo reverberated in the empty space between you.
"you'll be back," he called after you, his voice laced with venom. "you always come back."

Regarding the bsd Cannibalism arc stage play, because seeing all the different takes and opinions and interpretations made me want to put my thoughts down (and because I finally found some more concrete info on what happened in the stage play, yay)
Tumblr media
First of all, I'm on the side that says Chuuya leading the PM as it is now and following Mori's style would be bad for him. Mori operates with a level of detachment that would be quite bad, or near impossible for Chuuya.
But that doesn't mean Chuuya can't lead a criminal organization at all, and it doesn't mean that there isn't buildup for it.
The cannibalism arc stage play, to adapt the events to the cast and various other necessities, had to change the script. While at it, they doubled down on Chuuya's character arc. Nothing so far says that Asagiri contributed to this specific scenario (unlike the Dead Apple stage play), but keep in mind that the two previous productions were Fifteen and Storm Bringer. They were in full Chuuya mode. And on top of that, this one is their last bsd production!
Chuuya's arc so far has had themes of leadership woven into it. From his failing to lead the Sheep in Fifteen, to pledging his loyalty to Mori after hearing his approach on leadership afterwards, to taking a leader's position during the cannibalism arc. This theme is accompanied by the evolution of Chuuya's relationships and sense of belonging: he felt like (and was told that) he owed the Sheep for taking him in, the Flags showed him what true, mutual friendship entailed, and through many trials learned to rely on others instead of doing everything by himself, coming to view the PM, that he used to hate as it was under the Old Boss, as his family.
Since in this stage play context we would be experiencing Fifteen, SB and the cannibalism arc back-to-back, it makes sense to try to fit these themes into it. Chuuya takes over as leader in that arc, so lean into it: how does he feel? how does he take it?
So they made him express doubts. Which makes sense! His only experience was so bad it ended in betrayal, and he sees Mori as a role model! Of course he's not gonna be comfortable suddenly taking up his position!
And then, when all is said and done, apparently he downplays his capabilities to "well I'm strong, obviously people would want that in their time of need", which in terms of leadership won't get him far and he knows it from experience. So he points to Dazai still being Mori's first choice (which makes sense, Mori doesn't really do moving on), but after that, Mori produces proof that the Flags, arguably Chuuya's first real friends, trusted in his capabilities from the start, and that he never was doomed as a leader to them. Chuuya gets overwhelmed and excuses himself, keeping his head down and context implying that he is crying.
And from the initial rumours alone, this reminded me of Chuuya getting overwhelmed by the Flags in SB when they researched his past without telling him and gave him the results, when they showed him true camaraderie and support, when he met true friendship for the first time!
Tumblr media
[Chuuya] tried to look angry. He opened his mouth and attempted to yell something, but not a single thought came to mind. Everyone stared at Chuuya in puzzlement. He then swiftly turned around and shouted at the entrance: “Now I get it!” His voice was unnecessarily loud. “You thought you could pull a fast one on me, showin’ me this so I’d get all weepy and apologize! That’s what’s goin’ on, isn’t it?!” “Hmm? No, actually, we—” “Well, it ain’t gonna work on me. Got it? That won’t work on me!” Chuuya began storming toward the entrance and kept his head down. “I’m goin’ home! And ya better not follow me! I don’t wanna see any of your damn faces!”
This isn't a reaction to bad news, he is touched! It's him receiving something nice!
The stage play tried, I assume, to offer some closure since this is their last bsd production. Chuuya's arc was about friendship and leadership, so they used both of those on top of the already existing plot. Kinda like how the end of season 3 gave somewhat of a closure with the "to the stray dogs" toast; this journey isn't over, but here's a sneak peek before you have to leave.
To go back to my original point, part of Chuuya's arc is about leadership. His ties to the underworld run deep: he grew up in that environment, he chose to join the mafia, he chose to stay with the mafia, and he has made his way up the ladder with nothing but skills and respect for his boss. Could he be another Mori? Not without consequences I don't think. But could he be something else, something new? Most probably!
Is it sad that Chuuya found his place in the PM? yeah, kinda. Is it any less meaningful? No! This is a series about finding your place and doing the best you can with the cards you're dealt! It's about building the best life you can with and despite your conditions! The PM is where he found support, where he found friendship, where he learned and grew. The PM, or something similar, run by people who care is important, because otherwise we'd go back to the days of the Old Boss, with all the bloodshed and senseless violence.
Leadership is a skill that requires learning and practice, it's hard, and it's scary when you do a bad job. If you've ever had to take the reins of a project, you know it too. There are many ways to succeed in the role, it's a matter of finding the right one for both you and you group.

Seeing A Heart
Pairing: Dazai x gn!reader
Word count: 0,7k
Cw: Dazai sadness :(
Dazai is a beautiful thing in your life, and you want him to see that
Tumblr media
You’d felt rather down today. As for why, you weren’t sure. It simply seemed sadness had decided today was a good day to take ahold of your heart.
Trying to escape said feeling, you decided to go for a quiet stroll around a less busy part of the city. The river stayed your companion as you passed trees, benches, and the occasional person – all tinted with the soft orange of the sky. You stopped by a railing, looking out upon the water. It felt lonely, yet strangely fulfilling, spending time to take in what you normally took for granted.
“What’s a lovely something like you doing out here all by your lonesome?”
You smile, not even bothering to look in his direction. “Admiring the things I’ve been given in life.”
Dazai shifts, letting his thumbs rest in his pockets. “Hn, then perhaps I should leave you be?” he ponders. “The sin a man like me carries would surely be enough to taint your view of the world.” You can hear the humor he attempts to paint his words in, yet it doesn’t reach them fully. If he didn’t believe what he said, would he not be leaning on the railing beside you?
Your eyes meet his frame, and despite his words, you see nothing that could taint your vision. The wind gently plays with his wavy dark hair, and the sky – now bright with color – outlines his body so elegantly that you’d sooner say you were in the presence of a man carrying God’s blessing than a sinner. There is nothing ugly in your view, though there is sadness in those eyes. A deep pool of melancholy trying to hide behind the quirk of a lip.
"Quite the opposite. I believe you enhance it.”
He blinks at you before an airy laugh leaves him. “While I know my outside can be rather appealing, I believe my inside... fails to match it.” An almost unreadable look crosses his eyes. “You of all people should know that.”
A sigh leaves your nose. He’d bore his truth to you before, revealing a dark past riddled with iniquity. He worked hard to build up a persona free of it all, yet in quiet moments like this, he showed you his thoughts – the threads in his head that tied him down. You know that if he didn’t want you to, you wouldn’t see a thing. And yet here he was, uncovering them in this moment so you could. It was a sign of trust. And so, you figured it would only be right for you to give him your honesty in return.
You take a step toward him, gently letting one hand cradle his. The other goes to one side of his face, barely touching it. «If you believe there is something wrong with people seeing the beauty in you, then I suppose there must be something wrong with me.” There was a sense of vulnerability in sharing something like that, making your cheeks flush a shade of red. Still, you continue, voice firm. “Because I see it plain as day.”
He takes a moment to processes what he's just heard. While you wish to give him time, there's only so much silence you can handle before your embarrassment swallows you. Just as you begin to pull your hand away from his cheek, he gently grabs ahold of it. There’s a small smile on his lips as he sighs, thumb stroking the back of your hand. “You truly are good, [Name].”
You smile, an amused huff leaving you. “Good is about perspective. And from mine, I’d say there’s some in you too. Seeing as you happened to show up here when I was sad and lonely.”
A laugh escapes him. “My, aren’t you perceptive?” He gets closer, face inches from yours. “And what if it truly was coincidence, hm? Can you prove it wasn’t?”
You grab both his hands, grinning. “Either way I’m happy you’re here, so it’s a win for me!”
Your words seem to catch him off guard, face turning thoughtful for a second as he studies yours. Then his expression changes, and you’re graced with something beyond valuable.
A genuine smile.
“Come, I'll escort you home."
You’d seen his truth. You’d seen his thoughts. Yet now, with that smile of his, you felt you were seeing a glimpse of something even more precious.
You were seeing his heart.

HELP I'm sorry but this idea literally got in my head😭😭
What if Manipulative S/o with Chuuya,Dazai and Fyodor?
Them with a manipulative S/O
Tumblr media
♡ pairing: Chuuya Nakahara, Dazai Osamu, Fyodor Dostoyevsky x gn!Reader
♡ synopsis: How are these men with a manipulative partner?
♡ cw: Swearing, manipulation, sexual stuff (Fyodor, you're better than this)
note: Ngl I was stumped with this one for a bit, didn't write a single part of it, and then one night I just wrote the whole damn thing in like ten minutes. Writing's a weird thing sometimes eh? Anyways apologies for errors anon and I hope you enjoy x
Tumblr media
Chuuya:
If you're another mafioso and you use your Machiavellian techniques to interrogate people, Chuuya finds that hot (he's so whipped T-T)
But if you were ever to try and be manipulative with him? He'd probably figure it out relatively quickly and he'd be pretty upset about it. It feels to him as if you think he's unintelligent or something
He also wouldn't be such a fan if you tried to manipulate other members of the Port Mafia (especially if he's close with them like Kouyou)
Chuuya would prefer if you kept it for work and work only, because he values honesty and is more comfortable knowing that you trust him and vice versa
If it's like a trauma response or something though he's more understanding and helps you work on dismantling the habit in healthy and effective ways <3
Unlike the compulsive lying he would NOT consult Mori about this, because let's be real you probably got some of it from him
Eventually Chuuya might take a more passive role and just let you do your thing as long as you leave him out of it. If you're honest with him he'll be happy
Use your manipulation against Dazai (or at least try to)? You got yourself a loyal man for life ✊✊
Dazai:
Y'know that trope when a dude will like dreamily watch their partner with hearts in his eyes as they do some badass shit? That's literally Dazai when you're fucking with people
Especially other members of the ADA oh my god you guys are such menaces (the only one who can see through your bullshit is Ranpo but do you really think he's gonna put in the effort to stop you guys? No. That's what I thought)
But if you were to try and manipulate him, his attitude would change up real quick.
He lowkey takes it as an insult to his intelligence and also takes it pretty personal regardless of who you treat the same way. How can he not? You're literally his partner
You'd learn not to ever try crossing him, in a serious way at least- you'd definitely still play games and tease each other
If you're like super manipulative, even Dazai would have to be like 'hey! stop'. I feel like it would just remind him of his past self and he wouldn't like that
Like Chuuya he also prefers that, when it comes to more serious things, you're honest with him. He wants to be able to trust you
I mean either way he'd be able to catch up with you, so I guess it's not really a practical issue. Just be nice to him, alright?
Fyodor:
I ought to immediately establish that you're literally not getting past this man at all, ever
You will never be able to trick him, lie to him, or have any sway over anything he does at all. That being said, he actually loves the way you are
Fyodor definitely has a god complex and the fact that you can't get anything past him is definitely boosting said god complex. Though he's always like 'nobody gets me I'm too smart' we know that he secretly enjoys being better than everyone else let's be real
He thinks it's cute, but he will very much still give you ~appropriate punishments~ for your bad behaviour
Definitely uses you for the DOA's benefit in some way. Though it would definitely be with your consent because he knows you're not an idiot (and also why wouldn't you be on board tbh)
Sigma is probably a little wary around you because of how similar you are to your boyfriend (and obviously Mykola loves you he's your bestie)
You two definitely play a lot of mind games with one another for entertainment, as well as skill-based games like chess and poker (is that skill based? I've never played it lmao)
In conclusion, power couple of the fucking century

☆ the truth unfolds
kunikida doppo x male reader [he / him]
sypnosis: [name] was an undercover spy at the armed detective agency. eventually, his motives for becoming a detective at the agency soon unfold and everyone knows the truth. kunikida happens to be the most devistated.. (meant to be viewed as romantic)
the lowercase is intentional !
Tumblr media
"how could you?!" kunikida yelled at you, furious by your actions. "i trusted you! i loved you!" he spat out, not being able to hold in his anger from you for any longer.
you happened to be an undercover spy at the armed detective agency. you worked for an underground organisation trying to get information about everyone and everything in the armed detective agency. you managed to get all of the information and you were about to give it to your boss, but it was too late.
the members of the agency found out using ranpo's ability. ranpo had his suspicions about you, but he decided to not say anything about you. then, a few months after you were accepted into the agency, ranpo decided to check up on you. you were exposed for being a liar, a fraud and a spy.
it was inevitable, of course. you knew about ranpo's 'ability' beforehand. people warned you about it, saying it's the greatest ability ever known to mankind or some other bullshit. yet, you were so naive. you still decided to go through with the job your boss gave you - infiltrate the armed detective agency and get all of the information you can. of course, you were found out.
you had grown close to practically all of the members of the agency. for the job, or your own satisfaction? nobody will know. however, you had gotten extremely close to the idealist - kunikida doppo.
you two spent practically every day together. whether it was on missions, working on reports or complaing about dazai - you two were together. the two of you were so close even that kunikida fell for you. he forgot about searching for an ideal woman because all he needed was you, his ideal man.
but of course, you were a spy and the word spread quick throughout the agency and kunikida found out.
"how could you?!" kunikida yelled at you, furious by your actions. "i trusted you! i loved you!" he spat out, not being able to hold in his anger from you for any longer.
you scoff as you hear kunikida's words. "why do you need to know about what i do with my life? you can go and play the good guy, but every good guy needs a bad guy to complete the story!" you yelled back of him. "i don't care if you trusted me or loved me, i don't feel the same! i never did." you lied, of course. you couldn't act vulnerable infront of kunikida. you couldn't tell h how you truly felt.
"you're not even a bad guy anymore." kunikida stands there with his fists clenched by his sides and his jaw tightened. he felt so heartbroken by what you did. he really though you were special, that maybe the two of you could've actually been something. "you're evil! horrible! despicable even! i can't believe you'd do something like that." he was still yelling at you, but this time tears were welling in his eyes and his voice was breaking.
"i really thought we had something, [name]. i thought that you felt the same as me.. but of course i was so naive and blinded by what i felt for you - love. compassion. two things you didn't have for any members of the agency. not a drop." tears were now flowing down kunikida's face. "i hate that i trusted you. i hate that i loved you." those were his last words to you.
all of the words kunikida said to you suddenly struck deep. you were in the wrong. you always were. yet, you also fell for him the same way he feels for you. but, you couldn't tell him that anymore. he hated you, along with the other members of the agency.
you chuckle slightly mockingly, realising the weight of your actions. "well.. i guess the truth unfolds eventually, doesn't it?"

I saw Doppo Kunikida for the prompts and I’d LOVE to see more of him. How would he react to his darling always hiding by him when he’s with the agency. Darling is uncomfortable being around Dazai, while they’re friends with Chuuya.
:D The fave! First time writing for him, so I hope I got his character down!
✧Always Hiding By Him✧ — Doppo Kunikida
Warning(s): Slight Hints of Possessive Behavior (I guess?), Hints of Controlling Behavior, Mentions of Kidnapping
Tumblr media
"Hm? You alright? Here, you can sit by me for now."
Kunikida actually doesn't mind you sticking by his side when you're in the Agency. As long as you're not interrupting any of his work, it's all good. Besides, he is able to keep an eye on you better this way, so this is a win-win situation for both of you. It's understandable that you would keep close to Kunikida, given his reliable nature in the Agency (which everyone is very aware of). Still, he does wonder why you hide.
It's not like there is any danger in the organization, plus, you're surrounded by members who will make sure no one is hurt. Do the other members make you anxious? Kunikida wonders this as he glances at you every once in a while as he works. You might get bored but...you're still right there. Sitting by him. How peculiar. Still, he is aware that some of his coworkers are...eccentric and assumes that might be why you hide away. He won't admit it out loud, but Kunikida feels a sense of appreciation that you go to him out of everyone.
Even if you haven't said anything indicating if you are wary of the other members, it's obvious to him that you're uncomfortable around Dazai. So of course, anytime his suicidal coworker is present, he makes sure let him near you. He knows how Dazai can be so a pointed look is directed towards the man. "Dazai, please refrain from pestering them." He's also more stern with him because Dazai is Dazai and Kunikida isn't particularly fond of the man's behavior around you. It gives him a bad taste in his mouth. Plus, he values your comfort and doesn't like to see your face contort into a frown like that.
But oh, is it a different story when he finds out you're friends with Chuuya.... He was also the last person to know about it— I kid, I kid. Kunikida found out relatively quickly once he put together the pieces and kept track of your schedule. His reaction? Very wary. He isn't really fond of the idea that you're friends with someone from the Port Mafia, but he isn't going to do anything drastic. No, that would just escalate things into an unnecessary conflict. So far, nothing is amiss and he'd like to keep it that way.
He will ask questions about your friendship with Chuuya, obviously out of concern for you after all. He cherishes you so much and he would blame himself if anything were to happen to you due to your friendship (because obvious reasons...). Heck, he might even try to convince you to break of being friends with Chuuya all together. Just to ease his anxiety. If you refuse, this annoys his slightly.
I will mention, this might motivate him to kidnap you earlier on. You obviously can't take care of yourself in the world. Kunikida is sorry to say that, but...look at the facts. Hiding by him when entering the Agency just means you can't handle certain people. With Dazai it's more reasonable, but still. It reads off to him that you constantly need him to hold your hand. So, this just means his actions are justified. You can't argue against him when he states all these things. It's hard to face the truth but it's plain as day. You need him more than you think you do.
"I'm doing what's best for you. You understand that, right? I know you trust me this much, so I assume you do."

I read your dad Fyodor post and I was wondering if instead of reader getting with Dazai it could be reader getting together with Akutagawa?
Tumblr media
fyodor with a daughter dating akutagawa
0.5k words. fem!reader
Tumblr media
❥ since the post in question involved reader as fedya's daughter, i'll write fem! reader for this one too! hope you don't mind, nonnie
the dad fyodor post
Tumblr media
Now I'm wondering just how Akutagawa my boy ended up with a Dostoevsky. Regardless, I trust that you take care of him well <3
No matter who his daughter is seeing, Fyodor is protective by default. Natural fatherly instincts aside, he has this viewpoint about how humans are foolish and sinful. Crime is as natural as living and breathing, so humans need to be 'saved,' and the world needs to be 'cleansed.'
If that is truly how he views humanity, I don't think he will deem any person worthy to be romantically involved with you. Even if they're a literal saint.
Bonus points if you're a non-gifted, and if you have nothing to do with his Fyodor-typical criminal activities. You're the closest to being 'sinless' and father! Fyodor doesn't want you to get tainted by anything.
Tough luck for Akutagawa because he's a gifted and he commits crimes for a living💀
Again, father! Fyodor will be more protective and controlling than brother! Fyodor. Simply because the sense of responsibility and belonging is bigger, and he has more power in his position as your parent.
See? Your dad just wants the best for you <3
The whole 'you-are-not-worthy-of-my-kid' aside, Fedya sometimes uses Akutagawa as a pivotal piece in his grand schemes. I feel like he won't specifically dislike him, but he absolutely loves you! That being said, father! Fedya might indulge you and let you meet your dearest Akutagawa—until he finds him better off dead than alive in his quest of creating a world without ability users.
The man, as pale as the winter in your homeland, with steps as light as its snow—your father approaches your disconsolate state. As cold as his appearance may appear, his gesture is warm as he drapes his dark coat over your trembling self, a hand resting on your shoulder while the other comfortingly rubs circles your back.
"What did I tell you? The world is just as sinful as it is unfair," he said. "Sacrifices are eventually inevitable. But it's okay за́йка¹, you're safe with me now," he hushes your silent laments as a hand moves to pet your head.
I mean—look at what happened to Aku in the manga// I'm so sorry, I just love making this man evil.
Alternatively, Fyodor will make an exception because Akutagawa looks very polite :) Just for your fondness for your beloved, he might pull some strings and, let's say, exclude Akutagawa from whatever disaster he is planning for the detective agency, the government, or the Port Mafia.
Akutagawa can be such a sweetheart. I think if he ever gets the chance to meet father! Fyodor, he won't be intimidated, as per se. But he will try his best to be respectful. Because duh, Fyodor is the father of his s/o—as long as he doesn't know his soon-to-be father-in-law might pose a threat to the mafia and/or his sister.
Akutagawa does have this traditionalist vibes and so does Fedya. He obeys people he respects too. So anon you're up to something, this might actually work??

honestly, i'm interested in hearing everyone's interpretation of fedya's character. figuring out this man got my brain in a backflip ngl i just kept on making him kill everyone🥲

Bsd Quick Analysis: Dazai and Fyodor as narrative Foils
Spoilers: light novels and movie
---
Spark notes version: While Fyodor and Dazai are fairly similar, they also hold a great deal of differences.
Dazai and Fyodor share characteristic similarities and respective roles within their organizations, they have a certain form of control over everything that happens.
Tumblr media
I just wanted to point out all the visually symmetrical shots the anime uses with these two.
Something that strikes me though is the way they keep this control. Fyodor holds control tightly, directing each and every action of those that serve him. His lackeys rely on him to make decisions too the point even he complains about his subordinates lack of initiative. On the other hand, Dazai holds the reins of control loosely, extremely so when compared to his Russian counterpart. He directs with near suggestion. He, dare I say, trusts that his chosen individuals to do what he predicts. Which I think there in lies the key difference between Dazai and Fyodor's forms of control. Fyodor moves his 'pieces' while Dazai predicts his 'players' movements. Dazai has the mind of a in the field battle strategist (quite literally what he was raised and trained to do), he can predict who needs to be when and where for the right outcome. Fyodor is more akin to a particularly intelligent war leader. A strategic genius yes, but one that relies on his people to follow his orders directly. Furthermore, he's offensive, while Dazai is defensive. Acts so his opponent must react.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A nod at the different ways Fyodor and Dazai see other people. Fyodor seeing a tool and Dazai never forcing his hand.
They're both geniuses. No matter how one looks at it, they are both in possesion of severe intelligence. Interesting enough, it seems to affect them differently though. Simply put, while his genius gives Fyodor a god complex that makes him feel above other people, that same sort of genius makes Dazai feel separated from other people. Dazai is fully aware that he is just a person, a smart one, but just a person like everyone else. Maybe inhuman, maybe empty, maybe unable to ever feel whole, but no more a person than everyone else. Fyodor sees himself as basically just below god and above everyone else, thats he's superhuman and has special rights because of this.
Fyodor and Dazai move the pieces of their game uniquely. Fyodor in such a way its clear he holds no care for other people, views them (as I said above) as less than him due to their lack of (in his eyes) intelligence. In contrast to this, Dazai actually seems to care (granted in a backwards way) about his 'pawns'. Dazai values people. Maybe not all people, but he does value them. He listens to them, respects their insight and knowledge. Even admires them for their world views, despite not understanding them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Interesting contrast exhibited here. Understandably, it's through the eyes of Atsushi (unreliable source for this analysis) but still interesting how of them are depicted.
I've heard before that Fyodor is Dazai without the restraint, and while this feels true, I'd argue it's not quite right. It boils down to motive. Fyodor's self professed motive is getting rid of abilities, Dazai's is fulfilling a dying friend's wish to do good.
Fyodor is Dazai loaded with a complex and harmful intent, dazai without the lack of ambition and numbness. Both of them two different sides of amoral, but Dazai is a vessel of circumstance while Fyodor is a creator and manipulator of circumstance.
---
Extra: Working of the assumption that Fyodor's ability doesn't work on fellow ability users (and the fact Dazai's works only on ability users for obvious reasons) one can play around with a few concepts. Note one such concept; Fyodor's ability, again working with the earlier assumption, destroys a person while Dazai's 'destroys' the ability. This would make for a very powerful foil.

╰➤ PAIRING(s): dazai x reader, chuuya x reader (separately)
hello!! thank you so much for requesting and for being patient. hopefully, i was able to write this scenario well because i feel like my writings have been off lately. this written request was way funnier in my head tbh. anyway enough me rambling something nonsense, enjoy ♡
Tumblr media
nakahara chuuya !
chuuya may not appear to be observant, but he is. after all, if he relies solely on his abilities, he wouldn't be a port mafia executive. although it may not be on ranpo or dazai's level, but he is capable of deduction just as he is very much capable of fighting.
it all started when you came home one day, bruised and battered. your black high-neck jacket had come undone, your hair was a mess, and you didn't have your black round glasses on, and you also appeared to have been stabbed. from your clothes to your face, you were covered in blood. chuuya nearly screamed when he heard your knocks on the door, only to open to find you standing there with a nonchalant expression.
"[NAME]?! WHAT HAPPENED?!" chuuya immediately dragged you inside, eyeing you from head to toe, "ARE YOU OKAY?! BABE?"
"i'm alright, don't worry. just had to deal with a non-ability user who deadass has a pet worm." was all you said as you walked calmly towards his kitchen to get some sweets to eat, as if you weren't covered in blood or injured in any way, with him tailing you, completely baffled by what you had just told him.
you began arriving home significantly later in his penthouse, which you now shared with him when he asked you to live with him. chuuya doesn't mind at first because he knows how busy you must have been with your work. after all, you were under heiwa's organization, which was in tokyo, a different city, and you might not be one of the higher-ups or elders, but you hold a very high position in your line of work.
but then there were times when you didn't go home to him at all. a single day turned into days, then weeks, and when you finally got home, you seemed completely out of it. you were exhausted, and there were several occasions when you were already in bed with him or about to sleep when your phone rang and you had to leave.
chuuya trusts you. he really does, and he knows you wouldn't cheat on him even if you were literally capable of swooning boys and girls, but it makes him wonder why you don't approach him about it or open up about whatever is bothering you all the time and making you leave.
after a weeks had passed, your boyfriend finally understood what was going on.
it was your boyfriend's break, and when he's not working, he just stays at home in the penthouse. chuuya was preparing dinner for you two, which isn't exactly unusual given that, despite his line of work as a mafioso, he's quite the domestic husband material whenever you two are alone together or somewhere private. furthermore, he was not raised by ozaki koyo for nothing. anyway, he was working on some salmon dish when he heard shuffling and you talking behind the door, which caused him to come to a halt and stare.
chuuya turned off the stove, wiped his hands clean with his apron, and walked up to the door, where he finally heard your voice, except you seemed to be talking to someone, or perhaps two people?
"ack, megumi-chan stop pulling on my hair!"
"megumi, be nice to gojo-san!"
before chuuya could open the door, it swung open, and you burst inside after a while. the ginger-haired mafioso was taken aback when he saw you, his beloved, carrying a little spikey black-haired boy while holding a brown-haired little girl's hand.
"i'm home!" you exclaimed cheerfully, certainly bubbly in comparison to the previous days when you returned home exhausted and somewhat sluggish.
"congratulations honey! you're a father now!" you continued to speak while proudly showing the little boy and girl you were carrying and holding hands with.
"huh?!" chuuya felt as if his brain had short-circuited the moment he heard the words spill from your mouth.
chuuya was so taken aback that he accidentally activated his ability, causing his ginger hair to take flight. thoughts flooded his mind like a massive ocean wave. since when did you have kids? did you always have children? what?!
but the boy and girl staring at him with curious yet cautious eyes don't seem to resemble you at all. they didn't have your white hair or your six eyes' color nor any of your features.
"gojo-san, who is he?" the little girl hiding behind you inquired, gently tugging on the sleeve of your black high-neck zipped-up jacket. chuuya noticed how scared she appeared to be of him.
"this is nakahara chuuya-kun," you said as you peered down at her, squeezing her hand before releasing it to ruffle her hair, "he's a good guy, sweetie."
was it just chuuya, or did you just seem so motherly and incredibly soft for a split second?
"just who are these children?" chuuya finally spoke up, breaking from shock, "are they yours?"
"she's not our mom," the spikey-haired boy exclaimed, his face flushed with annoyance as he stuck out his tongue in disgust, "this grandma took us in."
"oi, who are you calling you grandma, you gremlin?!" you remarked as chuuya looked at the boy and your exchange with a surprised yet amused expression, trying to hold back his laughter.
"you have white hair." the boy exclaimed, tugging at your hair.
"i may have white hair, but i'm not that old!" you exclaimed in a grumble, before pinching the little guy's cheek with your fingers, "i'm a young woman, not a granny, you rascal. respect your elders."
"so, you are old?" you gasped at the smug grin plastered on the spikey-haired-boy's face.
"okay, you two, break it up," chuuya said, stepping in before you and the child got into a fight. "you've got some explaining to do, [name]," your boyfriend said, sighing deeply and folding his arms across his chest before looking at you with a serious yet concerned expression.
"alright, alright," you sighed in defeat, shaking your head and pretending to wipe a tear, "i gave birth behind your back."
a nerve irked on chuuya’s temple, "i’m being serious!"
you introduced megumi and tsumiki to your boyfriend and made them stay on the couch before he could scold you. you and chuuya then had a private conversation in his bedroom.
"they're not my kids," you said, your gaze avoiding chuuya's as you slid your black round sunglasses away, "but i've been looking after them for a while now."
"so, that's why you haven’t been coming home." chuuya’s eyes softened, "but, why didn’t you tell me right away?"
"well, to begin with, i wasn't sure. i hadn't intended to take my 'babysitting job' seriously, but i couldn't leave those kids alone. they have no one," you pursed your lips, "and i killed their father."
"you what?!" chuuya nearly screamed.
"shhh!! it isn’t like that!" you immediately waved your hands defensively in the air before chuuya could freak out even more.
you explained to chuuya that megumi and tsumiki had different mothers but the same father, and that their father abandoned them and became a hired assassin for an organization seeking the life of a young girl who is supposed to be the vessel of a god.
you told him about your organization's mission, how everything went wrong, how their father ended up killing the girl you were escorting and protecting, and how you killed him out of spite. chuuya was stunned, but he couldn't help but feel genuine sympathy and sorrow for you, the kids, and especially the girl you were accompanying; she reminded of him of himself, as well as megumi, when you mentioned he was supposed to be sold off because of how good his ability is.
chuuya was impressed. he was astounded by your ability to deal with all of that while already shouldering responsibilities due to your involvement with heiwa back in tokyo. he now understands why you are exhausted and overworked. you truly are the strongest, and he was proud of you.
none of that was easy, and caring for children was no joke. you'd have to pay attention to them, tend to their needs, and make sure they don't do anything stupid.
"i know it's a lot to ask, but i can't raise megumi and tsumiki by myself. i want to give them a home and a good childhood," you say after you've finished explaining to chuuya.
"you do understand this is a risk, right? i’m part of the mafia, and you’re under heiwa, and neither of us know a thing about parenting or how to care for a child, let alone two, babe." chuuya scratched the nape of his neck, prompting you to frown.
"it's okay if you don't want to," you said solemnly, "and i do understand the risks."
"i didn't say no, dumbass," chuuya said, narrowing his eyes and flicking your forehead, causing you to yelp due to the lack of infinity between you and him, "let me finish first."
"i'm willing to work with you," chuuya said with a smile, causing your eyes to light up, "there's no way in hell i'm letting you do it alone, baby."
"so, you really are a father now, huh?" you shook your head as you laughed quietly.
chuuya smirked at you, "then that makes you a mommy now, aren't cha, [name]?"
"CHUUYA!"
dazai osamu !
dazai knew you were hiding something from him right away, but despite his intelligence, he couldn't figure it out. you used to visit his city frequently, but your visits have been decreasing. you'd always have to cancel your trip to yokohama because something came up.
he knows you're the most powerful. you literally have your limitless ability and six eyes. dazai assumed for a short time that you were just busy with your line of work, knowing how heiwa is a very important and large organization that essentially does the work of the three organizations in yokohama as one, but he's quick to pick up on things when you're actually around him after being gone for so long.
while you constantly tease dazai about how clingy he is and how much he misses you, he notices how you occasionally doze off and look and think about souvenirs. he wonders if that was just your sweet tooth in general, or if you were giving the souvenirs you bought for someone because you'd buy so many before returning to tokyo.
and the fact that the food you brought was so specific was quite questionable. what, no red bell peppers? you buying candied ginger and omurice with a flag on it along with several packs of chocolate and strawberry milk? since when did you become a picky eater?
apart from that, dazai was a tiny bit bothered to find you excusing yourself to answer phone calls, only to find you scolding someone on the phone, whom he assumed to be your subordinates.
although dazai is extremely curious and wishes to question you, he does not. dazai wants to hear it from you, and whatever it is, you don't seem ready to tell him, as he noticed you shrugging off his casual questions that could lead him to a lead by changing the subject or simply telling him, 'it's nothing.' as a result, he does not push it.
but when the day finally came, dazai was taken aback, which was certainly rare of him to be.
dazai was waiting for you in the cafe, as usual, promptly sat on a table, and was overjoyed to see you when you said you were coming over and wanted to meet up. he even skipped work to do so, completely ignoring kunikida's calls and texts. he came to a halt as he was about to stand up and run to you when he noticed you holding hands with two children as you entered the cafe. the boy had spikey black hair, and the girl had brown hair.
"osamu!" you chirped as you practically skipped towards him, dragging the kids behind you., "congratulations honey, you're a father now!"
for the first time in a long time, dazai paled and became speechless. him? a father? what the fuck is going on?
he looked at the two kids, who were staring at him like scared kittens, now hiding behind your back and squeezing your hands. his adam's apple bobbed, and his heart pounded against his chest as if it were about to rip out.
you had your own children all this time?
that was perfectly fine, but what?!
looking at the boy and girl staring at him with curious yet cautious eyes, they don't resemble you at all. they didn't have your white hair or your six eyes' color. when dazai realized this, he calmed down, his eyes no longer frantic.
"sensei, who is he?" the spikey-haired little boy inquired, his eyes narrowing into a small glare as he assessed dazai.
"he's my boyfriend, the guy i wanted you two to meet, dazai osamu-kun," you exclaimed, ruffling the spikey haired boy who immediately swatted your hands away. you then turned towards your boyfriend, "osamu, this is megumi and tsumiki."
after recovering from shock and blinking and slightly parting his lips, dazai finally spoke up to confirm, "are they yours?"
"she's not our mom," the little girl said quietly and timidly, "she's our caretaker, and somewhat our teacher."
"caretaker?" dazai asked, puzzled, before turning to face you, "belladonna, when did you start babysitting?!"
"yeah, abooouut thaat.." you nervously laughed, trailing your last words before glancing at the two children with you, "you two be a dear and take a seat alright? i have a lot to discuss with osamu."
"i want pizza, but no red bell peppers," megumi said before taking a seat next to you, with his sister beside him.
"yes, sweetie. you said you wanted pizza for the third time," you sighed, shaking your head before turning to dazai, "let's order my gremlin a pizza before we chat, okay?"
"can i get a milkshake too?" tsumiki asked politely.
"sure, sweetie." you nodded and scratched the back of your neck, "and a milkshake too."
dazai couldn't help but smile and laugh as he watched you interact with megumi and tsumiki, especially when you cut the crust of megumi's slice of pizza and wiped tsumiki's cheek with a tissue after whipped cream got on her face, lightly scolding but still endearing them. how the hell did you manage to be patient?
"yes! yes! i know you hate the crust you gremlin, but you better eat the olives and onions, okay?" you grumbled under your breath.
"i will, i'm going to eat the olives and onions." megumi confirmed.
"i can eat megumi's pizza crusts." tsumiki offered, gently poking your arm after you had sliced megumi's food.
"thank you. please do." you sighed in relief, "you guys shouldn't be wasting any food."
when did you become so motherly and parent-like? dazai had already speculated that something had happened to their parents based on tsumiki's earlier response.
anyway, after tending to their needs, you proceeded to explain to dazai about how you took custody of the two, as well as their father who abandoned them, but when you got to the part about their father, you had to pull dazai somewhere private, about a good distance away from megumi and tsumiki as they ate.
"why are we talking so far from them?" dazai asked, raising a brow.
"because i'm going to be talking about their deadbeat dad, and i don't want them to hear about it, especially megumi, who doesn't want to know about him," you sighed, shoving your hands into your pockets.
"what about their dad?" dazai inquired, slightly concerned that you might admit to dating the guy.
"i killed their father," you exclaimed, widening dazai's eyes. don't get me wrong here. you, despite not being a member of the mafia, dazai is aware of the type of work you do and the necessities, but it was quite unsettling for him to learn that you had killed someone.
"what?" dazai blinked profusely.
"you remember how i didn't come home for days one time?" you asked, glancing over your shoulder to make sure megumi and tsumiki were still there before returning your attention to dazai, "i was on an assignment of protecting and escorting a little girl, a vessel for a god."
"okay." dazai nodded slowly, urging you to continue, "go, on.."
"their father was one of the assassins hired to kill the girl, and he was successful. you could say i failed my mission," you said lightheartedly, managing a small laugh, "but the real reason i didn't come home wasn't because i got injured when we fought, it was because of what he said. how he insisted on selling off megumi and then i found out about how megumi had a half sister too."
"so, you couldn't leave them alone." dazai concluded for you.
"children won't be children forever, they'll eventually grow up to be like us adults." you sighed deeply, "it isn't right for their youth to get taken away from them so early."
dazai couldn't help but smile when he heard you say that. you were just like him. in fact, you and he were quite similar in demeanor and such, but you didn't walk in the dark. instead, despite everything that has happened to you, including the expectations and traditions that have been imposed on you, you have chosen to live in the light. you were truly the strongest, and not just in terms of abilities.
"i..." you started, but dazai cutted you off with a quick peck on the lips before answering you.
"i'm here to help you," dazai said, smiling at his final statement. "i know what you're thinking, we've never been parents before, and even though i'm not sure if i can be a good parent, err, caretaker, but I'll try to be a little bit better."
"are you sure?" you asked, "you don't have to if you don't want to. i was just messing with you earlier."
after that, dazai grabbed your hand. he is aware that you can tell he is hesitant in this decision, and he knows he has never been the best with children, considering how he treated the very first one he took under his wing back at the mafia.
but a very good friend did tell him to save the weak and protect the orphaned.
"i want to." dazai confirmed, prompting a genuine bright smile to tug on your lips.
"okay, we'll make it work." you nodded your head, squeezing his hands as they interwined with yours, "together, osamu."
"yeah, together." dazai nodded in agreement with a closed-eye smile on his face.
but then, he just had to say it.
"alright, let's get back to megumi-chan and tsumiki-chan, mommy."
"OSAMU!"

No because in an arc where the page is so important.
How are the decay of angels letting Atsushi, the guide to the book itself run free?
I mean Dazai's in prison, Ranpo's on the run, the rest of the agency are incriminated and are being hunted down.
But while Nikolai fights Atsushi, he says it himself that Atsushi isn't a murder target. And he leaves him stuck underground but Atsushi can still escape.
Sure people come and would presumably arrest him on sight because he's part of the agency.
But they aren't soilders, they're the forensics team.
And not for nothing I think Atsushi could handle them before backup was called and get away.
I'm glad Kyouka went after him but Atsushi wasn't really in any immediate danger after Nikolai left.
It's only after they escape that shit gets complicated. But even than Atsushi isn't attacked by the Hunting Dogs until hes left to face Fukuchi.
Who has no qualms about killing him.
And it's not like Fukuchi cares for Atsushi's safety nor needs him alive or something.
I mean Fukuchi tells Akutugawa straight up to kill Atsushi if he wishes to join his ranks.
Which does make me wonder if his plan was to kill Atsushi, and make him a vampire instead.
And that's why no ones tried to kill Atsushi till now.
With Akutugawa suspecting they were after Atsushi (without knowing about the vampire shit) and thus Akutugawa made his own strategy to give Atsushi an escape route.
Remember Fukuchi was going to go back in time and prevent Atsushi from escaping.
Until backup showed up and he realised how complicated it would've made the time line to stop Atsushi from escaping.
Also the back up only showed up because Akutugawa chose not to kill that one guy.
So Fukuchi doesn't go after Atsushi. But it could be why Vampire Akutugawa still attacks and than bites Atsushi.
Remember Fukuchi is still controlling him.
But on the other hand, Atsushi surviving might've also been part of the plan.
Not on Fukuchi's part but Fyodor's.
First of all, because Nikolai keeping Atsushi alive was presumably him following Fyodor's instructions.
Second of all, Atsushi being free is how the Guild comes into play.
When Atsushi goes to Fitzgerald for help, he's in the middle of squaring off with Nathaniel, who we know is working for Fyodor.
And who later shows up at the Sky Casino and ties a string of blood to Atsushi.
Not one made to kill him like the one with Fitzgerald, but one to follow him.
A plan that was stopped by Lucy, who Dazai names on the imaginary prison chess board as his Queen.
So Dazai would be aware, hell he may have suspected both outcomes. He did meet with Akutugawa prior to all of this afterall.
And well it's not the first time Dazai has let himself get captured to figure out what someone wants with Atsushi.
Fyodor has said numerous times that he wants the book, not the page but the book.
He's the one who put the bounty on Atsushi in the first place. And why the Guild captured him and were gonna incinerate everyone in Yokohama but Atsushi.
To find the book.
Yes the page is part of the book but it's only got two sides. And is kinda treated as it's own entity, which I'm guessing is because it's separate from the book now.
For what Fyodor's got planned he needs the whole book, which Atsushi is the key too.
I think if Fyodor wanted Atsushi alive it's because if Atsushi became a vampire even if he aided Fyodor, ultimately he'd still be under Fukuchi's control.
Fyodor who's directly called out as someone who trust anyone he can't control.
Fyodor and Fukuchi are both apart of the same organisation, though they share different end goals one thing is certain: They need the book.
And for that they need Atsushi.
It's just whether they care if he comes to them alive or dead.

HEY LOL
It's been a FAT while since I did a little ramble
But I was bored because I'm not in college until next week, I have the house to myself and NOTHING TO DO
So, take this deluded 5pm rant xoxo
Basically, what I just wanted to ramble on about is Soukoku (shocker, I know.), and in all honesty the humanity between them both.
Between both Chuuya and Dazai, humanity is a touchy subject. Chuuya strives to actively be more human, does anything to hold onto the fact that he is, still, a human. Whereas Dazai on the other hand has essentially given up, not thinking of his life as something worthy of being a human, and essentially wishing to throw it away.
Trust me, I don't know where I'm going with this rant/ramble. But I'm going somewhere.
I think that it's one of the major factors in why Chuuya hates Dazai so much; Dazai has proof of being alive, memories, moments that can assure him of his humanity. But Chuuya? Chuuya doesn't have that. Chuuya lost the first years of his life, gone. Can't remember them. He's a lab rat. He's an experiment.
Chuuya struggles a LOT with his identity, as we know. And in Stormbringer, the thought that he could be a clone fucked him up. Then having to fight that said clone after he watched it melt in his arms? Yikes.
So, naturally, he's going to despise Dazai for treating something that Chuuya craves so desperately, so carelessly. As far as we know, Dazai hasn't had to worry about a fucking God inside of him, or worry about whether or not he's actually a clone, or worry about whether or not he is a real human being.
Except, he pretty much does.
Despite being human, nobody, not even himself, thinks that he is.
That's the part that fucks me up about their relationship; Dazai is determined to die on the hill that says Chuuya is human. Chuuya is determined to live on the hill that tells him Dazai is an inhuman, unfeeling person.
Dazai fights tooth and fucking nail to prove Chuuya's humanity. Even when told that Chuuya is most definitely a clone of his original copy, he's still so adamant that Chuuya is a living, breathing, human being. But to Chuuya, the feeling isn't mutual. Dazai is emotionless, unfeeling, inhuman. He's not capable of empathy nor sympathy to others, and he treats his own life so carelessly, holding no regard for his own being and putting himself into these dangerous, reckless situations, wishing for death or something as close to it. He has a life that he doesn't try to live. Chuuya resents him for that. Chuuya has a life that he wants to live, making up for all that he lost in the beginning. And seeing Dazai just treat his own as if it means nothing irritates him. Seeing Dazai treat death as a whole irritates him.
GAH I know that this is a ramble, and so I am, in fact, rambling, but still I don't know I'm making no sense lol.
It just really intrigues me how their relationship works in regard to each other's humanity.
Because, when Chuuya first met Dazai, he thought this;
The figure was silent for a moment. Then he finally saw Dazai, and realized that he was dealing with a person that had personality. "Huh. I thought you were going to cry and run away, but you're a surprisingly radical kid."
I made a post on this a little while back. The fact that, by Dazai asking Chuuya instead to just kill him now, Chuuya responds with the thought that he's dealing "with a person that had personality". He recognises that there's more to Dazai off the bat; it's obvious, but he's different to most other people. And instead of thinking "What the fuck" he thinks "this is a person". I know it's not him explicitly saying "This is a human" but even still. I don't know. Maybe I'm the bat-shit crazy one, but something doesn't sit right with me in that there.
I really don't know where I am going with this, but I'm not finished lol. SKK humanity dynamics fuck me up.
More about Dazai's adamancy of Chuuya's humanity, the fact that Verlaine, the one person in the world the most similar to Chuuya and his situation, is telling Dazai that there's no chance that he's a human. Dazai isn't stupid, he knows the vivid similarities between Chuuya and Verlaine. How Verlaine can probably understand him better than most, and vice versa. However, Dazai doesn't budge. It's so much gayer in the stageplay though and it makes me piss. The fact that, in the LN, he says "It's not possible for him to be artificial, because how could I hate an artificial set of strings so much?" BUT IN THE FUCKING STAGE PLAY? "If he wasn't an artificial set of strings, he'd like me more." (Ik these aren't the direct quotes, I've misremembered, but I'm not digging through my reblogs and Stormbringer just yet to bring up the exact quotes, but they're along those lines. Sorry <3)
LMAOOOO THIS GAYASS FUCKING MOTHERFUCKER FRR
Sorry it just gets me feral.
Anyways.
I think that's maybe the end of this for now because my dogs are barking and I don't know why so I'm going to need to go check that lol.
There's certainly far fucking more to say, but that's for another day lmao (spitting bars fr).
I hope anyone reading this has a lovely day/night! ^^ <3
xoxo

Hi !! Little question for you !! I work as an au pair with children ( 8 and 5), how do you feel Kento, Levi and Osamu would react to see their s/o generally taking care of kids ? <33 I'd like your take on it as daydream fuel
hi !! omg this is so cute <3 my little brother is 8, and i have a cousin who is 5, so i know how much of a handful they can be sometimes thehe.
with kento... omg i feel like he would get immediate baby fever. like if he sees you with a kid, he would start to think about what you'd look like with kids of your own :,( he starts casually bringing it up more and more just to gauge if that's something that you'd want. he thinks it's sooo cute how you play with the kids.
levi admires you greatly for what you do, because trust me... he could nott do it. honestly, levi is not the best with kids LMAO. he tries, but he's a little bit helpless. in the most loving way possible bc i adore him dearly, levi does not know how to interact with children SHDFHS. but he tries to take some tips with you bc you're always laughing at him.
i think dazai secretly loves playing with the kids. he thinks they are sooo funny & he loves when they say things that other people might get offended by. like i think he'd find it hilarious if they said his bandages were weird, and he'd make up some insane story about why he wears them. it definitely makes him wonder if he wants kids of his own in the future, because you look so cute with them, and you're so good with them!
