Daniel's Cafe - Cairo, Egypt Twilight hour

It was Twilight hour with the sky being colored in a beautiful yellow, orange, and dark blue color. Standing by the great Pyramids of Egypt is a Cafe that encourages gambling, smoking hookahs, and drinking, alcoholic or not.

Medea then walks to the men with a fresh stack of cards and Poker chips on the tray.

Medea: *Putting some beers on the tray* I believe so, my High School back at Morro Bay did have a Black Market of its own when I was in the 10th Grade, this guy was selling baggies of it for $5 under the bleachers. *Adds glasses with ice in them on the tray* But then the anti-pot laws started popping up and the Black Market went out of business when the dealer got caught by the Janitor and was expelled... Who wants a Guinness?

Kenny G: *Raises hand* I do.

Hol Horse: *Raises hand* Same.

Steely Dan: Pffft, and you call yourself a street vigilante letting a drug dealer onto your campus? *Starts stroking his forefingers together* Shame on you >:-)

Medea: Fuck you it's my money, I can do whatever I want with it. Besides, those handhelds cost $9 each and I only brought 5.

Uncovered: A Stammering Adrien AU Story

Something was wrong. Adrien could feel it. Something in the back of his head just wouldn't stop nagging him. It lingered in his head like a bad headache. He was so distracted, he didn't notice his mother coming in, holding a platter with two glasses of lemonade.

"Hey, there's my sunshine," she said with a smile.

"Huh?" Adrien blurted out as he snapped back to reality. "Oh, hi, mom."

"Want some lemonade, sweetie? I made it myself. Squeezed the lemons and everything."

Adrien took a glass and drank it rather quickly. "Wow, g-g-g-great lemonade, mom. Thanks."

Emilie's eyes went wide. It wasn't that often that Adrien rushed through a meal or beverage. She also noticed how he went right back to sitting down. She didn't like it. So Emilie did what any worried mother would do.

"Adrien, sunshine, are you okay?"

Adrien sighed. "Sorry, mom. I just... I just have something on my mind."

"What is it?" Emilie asked.

"Dad had the Miracle Book, right? And you s-s-s-said he found it in Tibet, right. You also said that he read the book. That means..."

"That means he knew about The Miracle Box, about Kwamis...” said Emilie. “He knew about all of this."

Adrien and Emilie sat in their seats, stunned. That's when Emilie had a theory she desperately hoped was wrong.

"Duusu," she said, looking in her purse. "Duusu, will you come out here, please?"

Duusu flew out and presented himself. "Yes, my mistress?"

"Duusu, if I may ask, how did Hawkmoth find you?"

The room grew quiet again and Duusu rubbed the back of his little head as the Agrestes waited for an answer.

"He didn't find us," he said. "He stole us."

"Stole you? From whom?" Adrien asked.

Duusu was silent for a while. Tears welled up in the Kwami's eyes as he spoke.

"I wasn't sure at first, and after I found out, I wasn't sure how I could tell you..."

"Tell us what, Duusu?" Emilie asked.

Duusu broke down. "Mistress, Hawkmoth killed your husband so he could steal me and Nooroo."

Both Emilie and Adrien froze. The world around them slowed down to a crawl. Time stood still as the truth dug its way from their ears to their minds. Adrien started moving backward and fell back into his chair, unable to comprehend the news until it reached his own lips.

"Hawkmoth killed my father..."

Emilie, after being as still as a statue, finally snapped back to reality. And on her way back to reality, she felt a twinge of anger.

"Duusu... When did you learn this?! Why didn't you say something sooner?!" Emilie asked.

Duusu continued to weep. "I figured it out after seeing your husband's photo in your room. I'm sorry, mistress. I... I wanted to tell you, but I was so worried about what the truth would do to you, I... I..."

Emilie softened when she saw Duusu crying. With a deep breath, she calmed herself down and snuggled the Kwami.

"Oh, Duusu, it's okay. Don't cry," she said. "I'm sorry I got angry. This isn't your fault."

Adrien stood up, with his brow furrowed and his fists clenched. Emilie looked to her son.

"Adrien? What's wrong, sweetie?"

"Everything, Mom! Everything is wrong!” Adrien snapped. “All this t-t-t-time, Dad was keeping secrets from us! Secrets that got him killed by a d-d-domestic terrorist! And how can we be so sure Dad wasn’t going to do something bad with the Miraculouses too?! I just... I j-j-just...”

Adrien was at a loss for words, and in that moment of silence, he realized he had just yelled at his mother.

“I’m sorry, Mom. I... I didn’t...”

"It’s okay, Sunshine. I forgive you.” Emilie interrupted. “I know it’s a lot to take in.”

Adrien sighed as he hugged his mother. He didn’t know what to think. He still loved his late father, but after hearing all of this, the image he had of him had become distorted. That’s when Emilie spoke up again.

“Listen, honey, I know this all sounds bad, but let’s not jump to conclusions,” said Emilie. “Your father loved us, and was always doing what he thought was best for us. Try not to judge him too harshly.”

Adrien hoped she would have a better answer, but knew that was probably as good as it was gonna get for now, so he took it.

"Okay."

Emilie kept hugging her child, and they simply stood there, not saying a single word. They simply stood in place, gathering as much comfort from each other as they could.

"It'll be okay," said Emilie. "We'll handle this. Together."

That's when Plagg made the scene.

"Hey, I have an idea," he said. "Why don't we meet the Dupain-Chengs for lunch? You know, get our minds off it?"

"That's a wonderful idea, Plagg," said Emilie.

Adrien nodded. "I w-w-want to come back to this, though. I want to know what Dad was hiding."

Duusu, who was finally settled after his confession earlier, decided to speak up.

"Well," he said. "If you wish to know, there is one other thing about Master Gabriel that I knew about."

"A repository and an observatory?" Marinette asked while they waited for lunch in her living room.

"The entrances were hidden," said Adrien. "If D-D-Duusu hadn’t said anything, we never would’ve known."

Marinette was a bit confused but went along with it. "That's fair, I guess, but what are you gonna do with them?"

"Well, I have a few ideas. Maybe we can have the repository turned into something of a finished basement," said Emilie.

"Ooh!" said Adrien. "M-Maybe... Maybe, mom, you c-c-could work from the observatory as Mayura. You know, when you c-c-can't make it to the actual fight?"

"Adrien, that's a great idea!" Marinette said with a grin.

Emilie beamed. "I love it. I can send Amoks out the window, and find suitable candidates from there," She hugged her son. "What a smart young man I raised."

Adrien blushed as he was assaulted by mommy kisses while his girlfriend giggled.

"M-M-M-MOM! C-C-Cut it out!"

That's when Tom Dupain came in.

"Lunch!"

After lunch, Adrien went to the park to sit down. He said nothing, just sat there and went right back to thinking, which, considering everything just learned, was not proving helpful. It was during this storm of unpleasant thoughts and unanswered questions that he heard a voice like the coo of a dove. He looked to see Marinette.

"Adrien, what's wrong?" she asked. "It's not like you to take off without a word. Are you okay?"

Adrien wanted to say yes. He wanted to pretend like all the bad thoughts weren't there. He wanted to put Marinette’s mind at ease. But he couldn't. He couldn't keep the truth from her. So with a shaky breath, Adrien finally spoke.

"No," he said. "No, I'm not. I think I'm as f-f-f-far from okay as I've been in a while... Hawkmoth killed my father."

Marinette gasped.

"He did it to steal the Peacock and B-B-Butterfly,” said Adrien. “I don’t get it. Why did my father want them to begin with? He... He knew about Kwamis, he knew about the book. What if he was planning to do s-s-something horrible?"

Marinette took his hand. "Adrien, calm down. You don't know that."

"UGH! I hate this! It feels like... It feels like my father's died all over again, only now, I can't even be s-s-sure he was the man I remember! I... I just... I-I just..."

All the frustration, confusion and grief piled up until Adrien couldn't take it anymore. The flood gates opened, and Adrien clung to Marinette, crying. She hadn’t seen him this upset since the day they met. With tears in her own eyes, Marinette hugged her beloved prince, desperately trying to comfort him.

"Let it out, Mon Cher," she said. "It's going to be okay."

i made a compilation like this for Morten TWO YEARS AGO now (here) and decided to do one for Ra too! and this would be a good excuse to talk a little about him <3

so, Ra (full name Ra'vakka Jo-dar) was born in cyrodiil and adopted by two khajit parents who would raise him in Anvil, where he and his big kitty feet would primarily get in trouble pulling pranks until he grows up and eventually gets into enough trouble to get shipped off to Vvardenfell :( where he promptly is taken advantage of by every empire-friendly organization before discovering he's the Nerevarine--and then he saves the world! but at a big cost :(

in the midst of the main quest, he joins the Mages Guild, the Thieves Guild, and the Fighters Guild as well as House Hlaalu (he's lonely). he's best friends with Balmora mage Ajira ;o; and he fools around a lot until he meets the Hero of Kvatch @renmorris and i share (Farric), and he's then able to hang around for the next 200 years until he gets to hang out with our Dragonborn too <3

so! this is Ra in a few outfits--something comfy i made up, then the Dark Brotherhood armor (which he stole after an attempted assassination), and then glass armor (which he also stole). then i have drawn out pretty much everything he carries with him at all times. below the cut is a description of each!

Tallest Red Cosplay

I made this garbage can purely out of spite, it’s my first real cosplay, and it’s ironic because I’m barely taller than 5′1″

It’s also incomplete (missing a PAK, abdominal plating, and matching armsocks/body paint)

Apologies,, I’m not very photogenic. I sorta resemble a greasy rat goblin so there’s t h a t

this abomination of a cosplay won second place out of my entire school, and first at my orchestra’s costume contest. It took a full month of work to make, and the entire thing was designed by me and handmade for the most part. (The only exceptions being the tights, shoes, and gloves. The skirts were sewn with a machine.) (process pics and descriptions under the cut)

So my dumbass decided to build a partial armor suit invader zim cosplay for Halloween out of spite. I didn’t see anyone do this before with the Tallests, and I wanted to try a “humanized” and partial armor suit approach out. Also all the armor is shiny and iridescent because I have a dumb crow brain. It took me several nights of little to no sleep, and a month of work to do. I had to cut out some parts in order to get it done in time for my school’s and orchestra’s costume contests- the chestplates were done the NIGHT before the orchestra concert and the arm socks were finished the night before the schoolwide one. We couldn’t find matching tights to butcher for the armsocks in time so we had to make do with some t e e n a g e m u t a n t n i n j a t u r t l e s ones in the meantime. I’ll be making a PAK and finishing up the rest of this cosplay in the future, as I’m planning on taking it to Comicpalooza this year. Which I’m VERY excited about, because this is my first “complex” cosplay EVER and it’s actually not too uncomfortable to wear? I wore this for nine hours and the only problem I had was how I can’t move my arms higher than the shoulder. Also this thing used so much floormat and craft foam to make.

The secondary(?) chestplate- breastplate?? AND the other chestplate took a full twelve hours of straight work to do. It’s of my own design, and it’s clearly my first try at making a breastplate as it uhhhhh keeps me from raising my arms higher than the shoulder. So I can’t do awful dances like carameldansen in this thing. HOWEVER. The neck has an accidental pocket that I can store my glasses and phone in. That I can’t reach without getting creative with my flexibility. It’s secured in place with Velcro and has elastic on the back of the neck for adjustment. Tbh this one was the one I was the most worried about.

The vambraces were probably the EASIEST part of this cosplay to build. I don’t really have much to say about them other than they’re shiny.

THIS BITCH WAS THE ONE WHO STOLE DAYS OF SLEEP FROM ME. I had to wrap myself in cling wrap and duct tape to get some sort of a pattern made, which I then ended up scrapping half of because it was bIGGER THAN MY FOAM SHEETS. so I ended up making the front with the pattern I made, and then Frankensteined an entire sheet of foam to the back of it that I then shaped to fit. This one isn’t glued together but is actually hand stitched down the sides and it closes with velcro in the front. Also surprisingly not uncomfortable to wear? One of the shoulder plates fell off so I’ll have to reattach that before comicpalooza.

THIS BAD BOY was of my own design,,, I had to measure my head, sketch out the pieces by hand onto some paper, cut them out and cut some foam out, shape the hecker with a heat gun instead of a hairdryer like my old Soundwave helmet from like four years ago, and it’s held together with hot glue instead of masking tape like my last helmet. The antennae are fully posable too because they have a wire built into them. I casted resin for the headpiece and wrapped wire around it to get some extra shiny. This thing was my first attempt at using decent tools like a dremel. So it’s a lot cleaner than the other helmet I did. I did have to cut the thing in half though to get it to fit my head, and we made it adjustable with elastic in the back. so yea that’s my filthy ass cosplay

A - attractive (what they find attractive)

You’re confidence. He can’t help but feel a sense of pride as he watches you take action and not let anyone get in your way, not even him. You’re not rude or arrogant of course, you just have the power to be okay with yourself so much that you don’t let anyone control you.

B - baby (do they want a family?)

Babies are a sensitive topic with Bucky. Before the war James was a player, not interested in settling down, always looking for adventure, or trouble (which ever came first). And after HYDRA it took him a long time to trust himself. Starting a family with you would be the greatest gift he could ever want but he just doesn’t feel like he deserves it just yet.

C - cuddle (how they cuddle)

Bucky Barnes is universal cuddle master. As long as it involves you wrapped up in his arms he’s all over it. First it’ll start all cute, you snuggled up to his side as he lies on his back, one arm around you shoulder, but through out the night you too will just get closer and closer. Eventually, you both wake up in a human pretzel.

D - dates (what dates with them are like)

James has tried to take you dancing but the clubs nowadays just aren’t his scene anymore which made him kinda sad but the drive-ins always cheer him up. It reminded him of being a kid again, borrowing his dad’s car to only watch 15 minutes of the movie and make out it.

E - everything (you are my...)

Rock, you are his rock. Every time he has a bad day or a mission goes wrong he goes to you. It took him a while to get close to anyone that wasn’t Steve and to have such an intimate relationship with you after everything he’s been through meant a lot. You can’t always bring him back down but you do help.

F - feelings (when they realise that they love you)

James catch really remember the one moment he figured out that he loved you. Over time he had just grow used to this certain feeling. One day he just kinda woke up and was like ‘wow, this is love, I’m in love’. He had realised just as you had walked into your shared room only wearing one of his shirts and your hair a mess. You lazily smiled at him as you flopped back into bed. He couldn’t help but wrap you up in arms.

G - gentle (are they gentle?)

Bucky is just one big cuddly bear. In the morning if you wake up before him, he’ll come up behind you and place his hands on your waist and kiss your neck whispering a sleepy ‘Good morning’. And after a long night at one of Tony’s big parties he happily helps you wash up in the shower, careful to take off all your make-up, and carry you to bed as you mumble about how hot he is.

H - hand/hold (how do they hold you? do they hold hands?)

At the start Buck hated any form of psychical affection, always worried he may accidentally hurt you. For the longest time his metal are was completely off limits, he even hated you just standing on his left side. Eventually, after many attempts, he finally gave in - of course he wasn’t that upset by it anyways. He had gotten tired of avoiding being psychical in public and finally wanted to show that you were his (respectfully, of course).

I - impression (first impression)

You had just been promoted to field agent and you couldn’t have been more happy, if only your colleagues felt the same... For your first mission you had to go undercover with with none-other than the Winter Solider. People who wanted to work with him were little to none so Fury thought it would be interesting to have both of you on the same mission, it was only recon. Many agents were not happy with this but said nothing to Fury, instead taking it out passive-aggressively on you. But you didn’t let it faze you, you knew what your job was and it wasn’t to brood over hurt feelings. He liked that. You even shook his hand when first meeting, he was cautious but still interested by you and your professionalism.

J - joker (do they pull pranks?)

Bucky isn’t a prank master but he can pull a little joke once in a while. But most of the time it’s with you, on Sam. When first introduced to the team you were confused by Sam and Bucky’s relationship, not sure if they were friends or enemies and would always try and convince Bucky not to mess with him. Eventually you saw the light and began secretly plotting with Bucky, painting Sam’s wings a bright pink, shaving his facial hair to replicate Stark’s. Tony was impressed, Sam wasn’t.

K - kisses (how do they kiss?)

His kisses are gentle but passionate. Starting of as a cheeky peck or two on the back of your neck in the morning to wake you up. Then when you finally roll over goes in, holding himself up by his metal arm and gently holding your hair with his flesh hand. You eventually need to stop him so you can get up and get dressed. And he’ll just sit there watching you, not in a creepy way, of course, but in a loving way. As you leave you’ll blow him a kiss and won’t leave until he lazily raises his hand up to mock catch it.

L - little things (what little things they love)

He loves the way you every time you come back from a mission, as you walk in the door you’ll do a little dance, strutting right up to him just to slam a folder on the kitchen island (most likely your mission report). It doesn’t matter if theres no music playing, you make up the music, as well as the dance moves.

M - memory (favourite memory together)

His favourite has to be the morning with you after your first date. It had been an amazing night so you invited him up for one more glass of wine and one thing led to another... The night had been a drunken blur so Bucky woke with a bit of a headache and you were there with an aspirin and a plate of homemade waffles with bacon on the side. He ate slowly, afraid that when he finished you would finally kick him out, but you didn’t, instead spending the rest of that day cozied up together on the coach.

N - nickel (do they spoil?)

Believe it or not being an Avenger doesn’t pay too well (because Stark is chump) but when he can he does. Most restaurants are too fancy for his liking and the people make him feel anxious so he prefers to stay home for a movie marathon then take you too all night diner. It’ll be 2 o’clock in the morning and you’ll both be eating burgers and gushing over how cool the Mad Max movies are.

O - orange (what colour reminds them of you)

Bucky has always loved blue. It reminded him of that time you too had a picnic and as you tried to feed a duckling the mother charged at you and stole all your bread. And that time you suddenly had an urge to paint so you made him drive you all the way to a 24 hour target and only every painted a blue background before giving up because the blue had started to turn a swampy green when you tried to add grass.

P - petnames (what petnames they use)

It’s stereotypical but Jame’s will only ever call you ‘Baby’ or ‘Doll’, sometime ‘Hun’ when he’s feeling extra soft.
