For Good [Semi Eita X Fem! Reader] pt.1
Tumblr media
( the gif belongs to its rightful owner uwu)
Author’s Notes : So uhm hi, this is my first ever fanfic here in tumblr and it’s been so long since I last wrote, I hope you enjoy it?? JSJDJHSJK I APOLOGIZE FOR MY AWKWARD ASS
Warning/s: Contains swear words
Word Count: 1083
Anyways here we go, a little Semi Eita loving
“Assholes. All of them,” Semi grumbled, taking down the poles used to hold the net. He was left alone cleaning up inside Shiratorizawa’s gymnasium because of a stupid bet proposed by Yamagata, their team’s 3rd year libero, also known as the bane of Semi’s existence. Cursing the brown haired in his mind, he carried the net and went to put it inside their equipment room.
While he was arranging the equipment, he heard a door open, followed by hushed footsteps.
‘Must be a first year who forgot his things again,’ thought Semi. Putting no mind, he stretched his back and was about to exit the stuffy room when he heard a voice, singing.
I’ve heard it said,
That people come into our lives,
For a reason,
Bringing something we must learn,
He was caught off guard, not expecting anyone to come to the gym at this time, especially not anyone singing. He had to admit, whoever was singing had a very beautiful voice. He knew he should not be listening without permission but he could not move from his spot.
And we are led, to those,
Who help us most to grow,
If we let them
And we help them in return,
If Semi was correct, the song was from a famous play in the west. He tried to get closer to hear the singing better when he bumped into a basket of balls, the sound echoing in the gym.
Well I don’t know if I-
The singing stopped and Semi felt himself cringing for making his presence known.
“W-Who’s there?” a voice cried out, ‘they sound familiar,’ he thought. Semi walked out of the room, head bowed down and his hand rubbing his neck in shame. “I-I’m sorry I didn’t mean to eavesdrop-“
Once he looked up he saw a (h/c) haired girl, wearing their schools uniform. Her face was quite red and some of her hair was blocking her face. She raised her hands in defense,
“N-No, I s-should the one a-apologizing! I thought the g-gym was empty and I barged in h-here so late, I’m so sorry!” cried the girl, and bowed.
“No, it’s okay, I promise! I was just surprised,” Semi felt flustered by the girl’s words, stopped the girl from apologizing anymore.
The (h/c) haired girl stood up, albeit still a bit red in the face. Her hair was now pushed back, showing more of her features. Semi’s face lit up in recognition
“(L/N)-san?” said Semi, now realizing why the voice sounded familiar. (L/N) (F/N), his classmate for 2 years. Although he recognized her, they weren’t exactly close, only a few words were shared between them.
“Oh, Semi-kun, I didn’t realize it was you,” said the girl, her head a bit bowed down to hide her embarrassment.
“Yeah,” Semi paused, he didn’t quite know what to say.
“Well, I’m gonna go n-now. Need to pick up a few groceries on the way,” (L/N) murmured the last part a bit hurriedly. She nodded her head at him then quickly turned around, eager to escape the gym and the humiliation.
“W-Wait!” Semi shouted. The girl turned around, confused as to why he needed to lengthen their conversation, she just wanted to go home. Semi ran up to her side and said,
“I just finished cleaning up here, I can take you home if you want? It’s quite late and I wouldn’t feel comfortable letting you walk alone.”
The girl felt heat creeping up her cheeks, head shaking vigorously.
“It’s f-fine! I can t-take care of myself! You must be exhausted, with practice and all that,” she replied, “Besides, I kinda need to get groceries.”
Semi smiled,” I swear it’s fine, and I pass by that mart every time I go home, so it’s no problem at all. If you still don’t want to, maybe I can just accompany you to the store then?”
The girl sighed in defeat, knowing there’s no way out, “A-Alright then.”
Semi smiled again, then proceeded to take his stuff from the bench. They both exited the gym, an air of awkwardness still lingering.
Walking side by side, Semi and (L/N) both working their minds, trying to come up with a topic, to at least ease the awkwardness between them.
“So, what were you-“
“You have a very-“
They both looked at each other, flustered with their timing.
“You go first-“
“Okay, you first-“
They both insisted but ended up with fits of laughter. In the end, the brown haired girl was able to ask her question,
“So, what were you doing in the gym so late?
The gray haired boy ruffled his locks, a certain bet coming to mind.
“Ah, I lost a bet to one of my teammates and the loser had to clean up everything by himself, tsk.”
(L/N) let out a chuckle at his answer. “Well aren’t you unlucky.”
“Tell me about it,” Semi snorted. “How about you? Why were you singing in the gym?”
The girl felt a blush coming up again and said, “Well, theater practice just ended and our adviser locked up our club room but I still wanted to rehearse. I saw your teammates leave the gym so I thought I could maybe go inside and practice, but in turns out, you were still there.”
Remembering the earlier incident caused the two to look away from each other, still feeling the embarrassment from before.
“Why the gym though?” asked Semi.
“Well for starters, I thought it would be empty, but clearly I was wrong. And,” the girl felt a sweat drop from her forehead, “The gym provided a nice echo,” the last part said a bit quickly, hoping he wouldn’t hear it. Unfortunately for the (h/c), the setter heard.
“Really? Huh, guess I never noticed it before,” wondered Semi. It could perhaps all the yelling from the team hid the echoes.
“Welp, here’s my stop.”
The gray haired setter looked and saw the blinding lights of the store. They must’ve walked fast to reach the mart in just a few minutes
“I guess I’ll see you tomorrow then, (L/N)-san.” He faced towards the (h/c) girl.
“Yeah, see you tomorrow Semi-kun, take care,” the girl waved.
“You too,” Semi waved back, then continued walking towards his home.
As soon as the setter was out of sight, the (h/c) slapped her forehead.
‘(L/N) (Y/N), why must you be so stupid.’
She then entered the mart and bought what she needed, eager to go home and just lay on her bed.
~ JSKSJSAHKSJH this was not beta read so i apologize for any mistakes sjshsj hope you enjoyed and wait for the next part!! (and if you know the song and which play it’s from kudos to you mwa)

SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT // READ ON AO3
Run, he thinks— Billy, thinks, in the parking lot of the Starcourt Mall.
Run.
If he could, he would.
He puts his foot on the gas, the engine thudding underneath him, growling, vibrating in his bones: a threat and a warning.
Max looks scared. She doesn’t scare easy,  but that’s how she looks. He can’t see that far – can he? – but he’s looking at the ashy pallor of her, the whites of her eyes. It’s hard to remember now. Who she is.
Run, Max, he thinks, with everything that’s left of him.
But also. Just faintly.
Help me.
***
Help me. Like the quietest voice in a crowd.
He doesn’t deserve it.
The words are the sounds of his fists against some other kid’s cheek. The sound he made when his dad threw him into the side table and he lost time. His fists on Steve Harrington. The wet sound he made when Billy hit him when he was gone already. The sound of his mouth smacked open under Billy’s knuckles and the feel of it too.
He understands that she doesn’t hear.
He doesn’t care. Not really. It’s so cold, where he is. And he doesn’t want her here.
But he’s so scared too. And so lost.
It’s a monster, Max, he thinks, foot on the pedal, knuckles bulging white on the steering wheel. The world rends apart on the sound of the car roaring, the world narrowing and coming to the fore.
I knew, he thinks. I knew I was a monster but I’m not this, Max. I’m not. Please.
Please.
Please, believe me.
***
He learned it early: no one is coming to rescue you.
It was just— A childish hope. Something he should have stomped on like a weed.
Like all those nights under his bed, on the threadbare carpet full of ash, curled up around the phone, pathetic, snotty, waiting.
No one comes. Not for Billy.
***
“I’m sorry,” he says, and maybe he means it.
Is he dying? Max is so far away and so grown up, all of a sudden. Such beautiful red hair and such a serious face.
The mall is kind of beautiful too. And if he had his time again, he would go to the food court, to get ice cream and to see Harrington squirm, and to see him in the sailor suit, like all the girls in Hawkins talk about.
God. God, it hurts so much to be good. He wishes he’d been bad and been wrong and taken what he wanted instead of being what was strong. He wishes he’d bitten his lip clean through and not cried when Neil beat him the first time – with a belt, and he wishes he’d said something to Tommy H, too, when he asked him, You here to shake things up? Take on King Steve? He wishes he’d said no.
No, I want to breathe. No, I want to live like you do, right in my skin. And I want to tear out of here one day with all of it in the rearview mirror, and a pretty boy to look at in the passenger seat who I maybe sometimes let pick the music, and the smell of gasoline and a summer sky ahead.
But he didn’t and he doesn’t. And he won’t get a chance to, now. He’s dying.
He’s the bad guy.
He dies.
***
It hurt so bad the first time.
He screamed so hard and no one came. Don’t be a pussy, his dad always says and he’s trying so hard not to be but it’s—
Inside him. It takes over so fast. He’s always been such a fighter but there’s no fight in him for this.
What do you want, he screams, the whole world turned upside down and rank with the smell of fear, his body raw all over with adrenaline, his brain shrieking, turning over and over like a starter motor failing to catch, the high whine of panic – wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up.
What do you want, it asks.
It’s slick, heavy, overwhelming. It’s in his throat, behind his eyes.
What do you want, Billy?
Show me.
***
“You okay, in there, Hargrove?” Harrington asks. He smooths a hand over Billy’s forehead, threads fingers into his hair until he has his attention. “Thought I’d lost you for a second.”
They’re in the food court bathrooms. The color makes him dizzy, hurts his eyes.
“What were you saying?” Something about colleges…
“I was asking you if you thought it was a good idea – me staying on for another year until you finish school.”
Billy smirks, remembering he has hands with which to touch. He sneaks his fingers into the band at the back of thosenridiculous uniform shorts. Harrington gasps, looking around nervously as the sound echoes off the tiles. It’s the middle of the day but the bathroom is empty. Billy knows without needing to look.
“You gonna save up? Buy me a nice big house in Loch Nora with all that ice-cream money, baby?”
Harrington squirms, cheeks turning rosy. “I just…don’t want to leave you, okay? You don’t have to be a dick about it.”
“That’s kind of my default,” Billy says, a little distracted by the way Harrington is grinding against him just slightly, his hips moving into Billy’s hands even has he gets his arms up between them, pushing Billy back.
“Got to get back to my shift,” he says, breathy and annoyed.
“You free later?” Billy asks, because he’s hopeless.
“Yeah,” Harrington says, and kisses him, sharp and nasty, pinching Billy’s bottom lip between his teeth so hard it makes his eyes water. He backs out of the stall looking cocky as hell, winking even as Billy rubs a hand over his smarting mouth. “Come find me, okay?”
Of course. Always. Of course, he will.
***
The radio is playing his favorite song. Perfect timing. Max is mortified. She reaches over to change it but he slaps her hand away.
They’re taking the same road they drove into Hawkins on – behind the U-Haul and Neil’s truck. Back then the drive had been silent - too sick on the taste of his own tears down the back of his throat. But it’s different now. They’re happy. And he can usually find metal on any station.
“Ugh, why do you always have to listen to this.”
“Can’t help it if they’re playing my song, Max,” he says, cranking the volume, tapping out the shred of the guitar on the wheel only to rile her up.
The countryside flies past his window – yellow, green, blue. Trees, fields, power lines.
“Where are we going?”
Dumb question.
Wherever they want.
“Wherever your heart desires, shitbird,” he says. “Sinclair can even come too.”
She rolls her eyes. “As if he’d get in the car with you. You drive like a psycho.” But she says, “Let’s go to the pool.”
“Good idea,” he says.
Maybe today’s the day he’ll get to practice mouth-to-mouth on Harrington. He turns the car around sharply, riding up on the shoulder and spraying dirt in their wake.
The drive to the pool is straightforward – the turn off for the lake, the Fair Mart, more trees, the—
He slams on the brakes.
“What the hell, Billy?”
He doesn’t know. It’s just. There’s nothing there. He stares at the empty patch. A gap in the trees, the grass stamped down to nothing, the leaning tangle of an old wire fence. A scrap piece of corrugated tin roof. He feels suddenly cold, all over.
“Billy, come on,” Max says.
“I’m…” he says. “I think I’m lost.”
She scoffs. “Are you kidding? The pool is like, two minutes from here. Let’s just get back on the road.”
He looks at her and then back at the…absence of a place. It gnaws at him. “I thought there was something else here.”
“Let’s just go, Billy. There’s nothing there.”
There should be, though. He puts his hand on the door latch and Max grabs him by the shoulder.
“Don’t.”
The sun is going down. There are shadows on the ground with nothing to cast them. Something that skitters, in the corners of his eyes.
“There’s nothing there.” He doesn’t believe her.  “Billy,” she says again, more urgently. “There’s nothing there.”
***
“You ever been surfing?” he asks, spread out on the bonnet of his car, the metal so warm against his skin it should hurt. The air tastes like gunpowder. What time are the fireworks, again? He wants to ask. But he forgets the answer every time. It’s not important.
“Nah,” Harrington says. “No beaches in Hawkins.”
Billy almost rolls his eyes. There could be. Harrington has a limited imagination.
“We could go to Cali?” he asks, not looking at him, looking at the first scatter of stars where they start just above the haze of sunset. “When all this—when I’m done with school. I’ll take you and Max somewhere we can go to the beach every day.”
“You just want to see me in a bikini,” Harrington says.
“Is that less degrading than your scoops suit?”
“Depends what you do to me in it,” Harrington says, eyes mischievous, rolling the words out around a breath of smoke.
“No,” Billy says, suddenly sick with upset. “He wouldn’t say it like that.”
And when he turns to look again, Harrington is looking up at the stars, smiling. Was never smoking at all.
Billy reaches out to tuck just a little bit of his hair behind his ear, just to make him perfect.
“What are we waiting for, again?” Harrington asks.
“Fireworks.”
“Oh yeah. I told the others to meet us here. They should be here soon.”
“What time did you tell them it starts?”
“Who cares?” Harrington says. “I like having you all to myself.”
“Do you?” Billy asks. “You’re not bored here?”
Harrington’s eyes sparkle. “With you? Relax, man. Lie back and look at some stars with me.” He slips his hand alongside Billy’s until Billy relents, lets him tangle their fingers together, pulling until Billy’s lying down next to him, looking up at the stars in the sky. There are too many of them. “Now, say something romantic,” Harrington says, squeezing.
“I’m not good at that,” Billy says, licking his dry lips and counting. There are definitely way too many of them. “I’m not good. At anything.”
He can feel Harrington rolling his eyes. “I’m sure there’s something.”
He thinks about it.
“You ever been surfing?”
***
“I never thought I’d find a way out from all the monsters. I never thought I could just be happy,” Harrington says, looking at him with his big lamb eyes. Billy’s in love with him. Billy’s happy too.
They undress each other in the dark. Touch mouths. Harrington is too rough and too hungry and Billy doesn’t mind disappearing inside him.
“What’s this?” Harrington says after, tucked in along his side like a girl, like he didn’t just nail Billy so hard into his bed it had him crying. His fingers stroke over his arm, coming away dark and wet.
“Don’t worry about it, princess,” Billy says, pressing their lips back together, kissing his eyes closed. “You’re dreaming. ”
***
Hawkins. It’s a warm night and promising. There’s a phone booth, somewhere, with the light on, like something he can only remember if he tries real hard.
Tonight he’s forgotten.
It feels like he’s on the edge of the world. The engine purring, the steering wheel solid and real in his hands. He could go anywhere. He could follow the long string of lights out of town, drive until he hits the coast. He’ll never need to stop for gas.
He turns around.
***
What do you want, Billy?
It hurts right up until it doesn’t.
***
It’s a fresh night, cold and clean. Billy’s tired. He’s been driving all night. And longer. But it doesn’t matter, not anymore. The lights are on in the Byers house, like he knew they would be.
He closes his eyes and when he opens them, he’s home.
He gets out of the car. Leans on the door, smiling.
“Am I dreaming or is that you, Harrington?”

Street Rat
Fandom: Umbrella Academy
Five x Fem Reader!!!!
Summary: A girl with gifts only to use for bad, as what five thought.
Note: Hey this is my first fic I’ve ever posted so I hope you all enjoy! I do take requests and I’ll be sure to add onto this!
————————————————————
Being alone and a street rat was all I ever knew. Sitting above the dirty ground on a roof of an abandoned mini mart outside of town was all all I ever knew.
The floor was cracked cement filled with dirt, chipped pots with succulents and plants were lined on wood planks under dusty and dirty glass windows from above. In the corner of what I called home sweet home was a blue sleeping bag with two blankets in a pile next to it; a Christmas one, and a knit green one I made last winter. Candles were in every corner of the room with a vanilla bean aroma. My kitchen was left over utensil kits and kitchen ware from the used to be shop. I washed dishes out back in the Major Rose River under the hundred year old willow tree.
With my mind the pots next to me with stains from soup slowly rose with the thought in my mind. They lowered into the stream with sponge and soap scrubbing them gently. I looked at the shadows and smiled, my e/c eyes becoming an electric yellow. “Lights on!” I said giddy. My creations of little maids from the shadows came to life. “Lights off!” The eight shadow maids got to work quickly as I went to put the clean pots under the afternoon sun. Since a child I referred my “gifts” as curse. I can fly, use telekinesis, and create things from the shadows; the darker the shadow the more powerful.
The night pulled down the sun to flaunt its beauty. This was the time I roamed the streets in town looking for tomorrows meal. Lunch, the only one I eat normally. Walking past a bookstore I peered behind a car watching two figures with grocery bags in hand struggle to find keys. I moved my hand out slowly thinking for the bag to come to me. “Hey! What the hell!” One of the figures who looked my age spun around trying to grip onto the bag.
A bodybuilder type man next to him grabbed the other bag being pulled by my force. “How is this happening? This is some Klaus creepy shit.” I closed my eyes pulling quicker since they were so strong. A cold chill went down my spine feeling a presence behind me.
“Stealing is not nice.” Jumping the boy from the step stood over me. I heard the bags from before drop to the ground. Rain started to fall from the sky as the mans loud steps were heard near. “Quite interesting how someone other than my siblings have gifts.” Gulping I felt everything in my gut shrivel up and shake. With my body shaking I ran. I ran, and ran, and ran. The streets became moist with the skies tears. The boys presence appearing before me at every streetlight. “You can’t run.” He said. “I’ll make your life a living hell.” He said. “There’s nowhere to run from me.” He said.
As I reached the edges of town I saw the candlelight sweeping through the windows of home. Water dropped from my waist long h/c hair. A streak of light brushed across the sky and came with a side of thunder. Sprinting inside I hid under my blanket shaking in the fear of thunder over the fact some psycho teleporting boy was after me for stealing groceries.
The doors rattled. His shadow, his presence. There.
“Lights off.” I whispered. The shadow like hands created from darkness touched the fire gently, leaving me alone in the cold wet dark. The sweet vanilla scent gone as more thunder cracked like a whip over my home as the door busted open.
“What a dump!” The boy said kicking the trash bag over next to the door. “Come out! I know you’re in here!” The sound of a match against a striker became so loud a flame was present. The boy went to the first candle to light it, then the second, then the third, and the fourth. My body was visible. I trembled as he approached me. “Found you.” He said popping from behind me. I could feel my irises flickering from its natural e/c color to the electric yellow.
“Lights on.” An army of shadow soldiers rose from next to me. “Lights off.” The soldiers charged pushing him back to the other wall. The boy stood up rubbing his shoulder.
“Interesting.”
“S...stay away from me.” The boy rose from the ground as the soldiers disappeared. He moved to the counter where an old ATM machine once stood. My notebooks stood in a neat stack under an oil lamp. He picked one up slowly opening it. “Put it down!” I shouted. The most important journal, how my powers work.
“My discoveries huh?” The brunettes bushy eyebrows rose. “I can fly! And move objects under one ton with my mind! But the shadows...” the journal pulled from his grip right back to my hand.
“I said put it down!” He turned around, a smirk smearing across his chiseled face.
“Y/n. That’s a beautiful name.” He approached me to hold my chin where our eyes met. The raindrops mixed with tears as they fell down my skin/c face. “Y/n, you’re a threat.” Thunder tumbled above. I pulled my face away from his grip, tears racing down my face like race cars going 100 plus miles per hour. His eyes widened. “Scared of thunder?” He asked slowly kneeling to my balled position. He tore a piece of paper from my notebook and placed it next to me. “Meet me at this location tomorrow at sunrise, I want you to meet people like you.” It’s almost as if this mysterious boy had his hard rock shell shattered seeing me so vulnerable.
“I....I don’t want to be alone.” My voice shook. The boy tilted his head, a breathe parting from his lips as he plopped next to me. He looked at the ceiling then to me.
“I’m five.” He said. Five pulled out a headset from his jacket and placed it over my head. The song a wonderful word played and soothes my mind. “The headset is my brother Klaus’ you’ll meet him tomorrow. I think he’ll be fine without it for one day.” Five looked at me and pulled the Christmas blanket onto him. “I’ll stay tonight.”
A smile grew on my face, somehow as weird as it sounded. I liked this mysterious and hateful boy. “Thank you.” Was all I said before my eyelids fell heavy.
——————————————————-
I woke up to the smell of coffee and donuts. “You’re up. We need to get a move on soon.” Five walked up and placed a white paper bag with stains next to me. “It’s a pink cake donut.” Five took a sip from a to-go cup of coffee and smiled.
Taking a bite of something I haven’t had in years felt great. “It’s so sweet.” Pausing I looked at him with a sense of joy in my tone. “Thank you Five.” His eyes widened as a pink smeared his cheeks as he turned back to the counter with his coffee.
“Don’t mention it, let’s just go.” Five held the door open as we walked out of the abandoned mini mart I called home. Two minutes away from home we made it to the side of a highway. We walked down it for a bit, passing a few gas stations on the way to town, only stopping once so he could use the bathroom. “Why do you live in an ol piece of crap like that?” My face blanked as I floated off the ground.
“Well I never had parents, I had a guardian but ran away from him two months ago.” Five looked at me as I floated next to him, following the same grassy trail we had been on for awhile now.
“Shitty life.” Five said pushing his hands to his pockets, “I had one too.” Five pulled out a bag of gummies and stated munching on them, red ones first. “My father was an abusive asshole.” He laughed throwing his head back as I tilted my head at him.
“The guy who took “care” of me and my “siblings” was named rich. We broke so many laws for him.” I held onto the collar of my shirt. “We has no control over ourselves when it happened, I broke so many laws. The public called me umbra.” I felt a hand yank me down and a body pinning me to the grass. Wind blowed my hair as our scared eyes met. He got up as we continued walking to his gates.
Five tilted his head as we walked into his house. “So you’re apart of that Storm League.” Nodding he dragged me down to a hall and into a dusty closet. “My brother Diego has been searching for that Storm league since you and the other three first rose to terror five months ago.” Fives chocolate eyes searched mine for an answer. “Don’t ever use that shadow shit unless it’s you and me.”
“Got it.”
———————————————————-
Nights in this house were cold, no freezing. Raising from the bed I walked to the courtyard. A broken statue of a boy who Five told me was named Ben lay in the rain. I met majority of his siblings a week ago. I was given a school uniform to match fives because it was the only young girl clothes Allison and Vanya had. Rustling and tapping cane from the roof above. Floating up there I met a familiar pair of red eyes. “Y/n why did you run away.”
“Bolt.” Said boy smiled devilishly.
“We all miss you y/n, come back. It’s not the same without you.” I shook my head.
“No. I’ll never go back. I don’t want to live that life anymore.” I felt a pain rise in my chest and let out a scream.
“I didn’t want to do that Umbra.” The last face I saw was Bolts, the boy who could manipulate electronics and electricity.
“Bolt that was too harsh!” It was Ryan! The nightshade.
“Pops orders.” And everything seemed slow. Another wave of pain hit me, another scream. My eyes flickered yellow as I gasped for air.
“Lights on.” I whispered, the shadows from the courtyard rose to a dragon above my body. “Lights off.” I said. The only light coming from my eyes as the dragon carried them far away. My body felt like lead, heavy. It hurt. I could feel myself slipping off the roof. This is how it ends, because of them.
“Y/n!” A familiar voice. “Y/n! Wake up!” It was loud, every sound hit me all at once. A pair of lips pushing air into my body even though I wasn’t drowning. Lips. Wait. Jolting upright I met fives eyes with my cheeks heated up. Embracing me I cried. “You’re okay.” We’ve only known eachother for a week, but we were always together never apart from that night.
“There’s someone after me.”
Note: Hey I hoped you all enjoyed this! I worked on it for a bit and it’s kinda messy but I’ll update chapter two soon!!!!!

1. Hey y’all. I got a kindle!!! I feel bad for not supporting local book shops but I mean, this thing is amazing. I get to look up words immediately, highlight stuff, change the font size and brightness and know how far I’m in a book. This motivates me to read so much more because if I take this everywhere with me, I have no other excuse but to read. 2. Read When Breathe Becomes Air and it was wonderful. I cried only a little bit but having the setting be in a hospital was truly eye opening. That whole book was eye opening. Everyone should read it. I’m still processing it. 3. I’m now halfway through The Alchemist and it’s pretty encouraging so far. I feel like it aligns exactly with what I’m going through, and honestly that’s the funny thing about books. They relate to everyone. They’re a universal connector. I’m just so happy that I’m participating in a productive use of my time instead of watching stupid videos on the internet. 4. Went to White Plains to eat Korean food and go to H-Mart. It was pretty nice. Told my parents I was dropping my major and they were like wat. But they honestly let me make my own decisions which I appreciate a lot because I know a lot of parents don’t allow that freedom. I also vented to them about anxiety and being confused about life and how I have to process my emotions instead of the whole “fighting” through stuff to get a result or to pull myself out of a funk. It was just nice to get that out of the way so I’m not so anxious around them. I mean, they’re my parents. I can talk to them about anything. I’m thankful for that. Seriously. And even though I see my future abroad in a different country, they still support me in the end even though they’ll be worried about me. Ugh seriously how am I going to be a better parent than my parents... 5. Worked out and read some more. Feeling a little better and giddy at times, which is definitely a good sign because it’s a different emotion from feeling heavy and anxious all the time. Also my other bro came home! 6. Things will be ok. All of this terrible shit happened so I can confront these issues I’ve been pushing aside. I’m starting to think for myself and I think reading is always a good thing for my mental health. It makes the possibilities seem endless and makes me daydream about doing lectures without getting nervous someday and actually being able to help people out and answer their questions. 7. Talking to my parents I learned that I felt misunderstood amongst my peers because some of them are very content with living a conventional life path, and I’m happy for them. Almost kind of jealous. But there are also some who are forcing themselves to live a conventional life because of outside forces, namely parents. And that makes me so sad because they’re denying everything that they truly want, and by the time they’re deep in their profession, there’s a limited amount of pathways you can go after that. I’m thankful to have the freedom to choose for myself and that my parents support that. I know there are many people out there who think the same, and they’re probably closer in proximity than I think, but I think that’s all I needed. The assurance that I’m not alone in digging around and actively pursuing life’s truths and what role I can play in that, or was destined to be a part of.
