Leap’s Guide to the Bats
Dick Grayson - flippy boi - circus child - his parents fell from the trapeze it was very sad - first Robin, chose bright colors and no pants - known for his attrocious puns - grew up to become Nightwing, went through several Bad Fashion Choices^TM - tired, just trying to keep the family together and help people - angrier than people give him credit for - 10/10 best big brother I love him so much
Barbara Gordon - the first official batgirl rn (I think) - commissioner's daughter we love her anyways - badass who dated Dick for a while and was generally just amazing - got shot in the spine by the Joker and paralyzed - became Oracle the best hacker on the planet - hacks all the stuff, is in everyone's ear all the time - is still a total badass and will kick your ass to metropolis if you cross her - and then play innocent and blame it on Batman - I love her so much
Jason Todd - tried to steal Bruce's tires, Bruce pulled an uno reverse and stole him - angery boy but also very soft - died =( - and then he came back to life - either because Superboy Prime punched the universe (don't ask) or because Ra's felt bad - was Lazarus Pitted back to life, zombie bat with white streak now - (except DC won't give him the streak 'cause they're rude) - started calling himself Red Hood - spent some time as angsty murder boi trying to fight Bruce - angry that the Joker's still alive - still an angsty murder boi but he's in the family again and sometimes has friends! but dc also likes taking them away - DC is very rude
Tim Drake - stalker extraordinaire/j - figured out Batman's identity when he was 10 - followed Batman and Robin around for years taking pictures - after Jason died Bruce got hella self-destructive so Tim stepped in and was like "I am going to become Robin because you need to stop" - we stan - hacker child. also has zero self-preservation - became Red Robin when Damian became Robin - if you listen to fanon, sleep deprived coffee boi - is honestly downright freaking terrifying when crossed don't do that - seriously this kid frightens me he's a genius who does shit like figure out who Batman is, follow him for years without detection, beats all the criminal masterminds, at one point he managed to create an entire fake uncle to lie to bruce?? long story. - basically he's terrifying and also he needs hugs I love him
Stephanie Brown - became a superhero out of spite - her dad's a villain so she dresses up as Spoiler to Spoil his plans - ends up joining the bats - becomes Robin at one point when Tim temporarily quits - then she dies. except she doesn't. yes I'm confused too - returns (leslie thompkins??) and goes back to Spoiler for a bit - Babs makes her Batgirl - waffle queen. an icon. I love Steph so damn much - she's just so good okay - she is a ball of sass and poor impulse control - but also really smart and amazing
Cassandra Cain - assassin child I love her - easily one of the most terrifying bats - really, really good at reading body language she knows what you're about to do before you do and will stop you - was raised to read body language instead of speak basically it's complicated - killed a man as a child under orders from her father, didn't realize what would happen and panicked and ran away after she did it - Bruce and Babs both kinda adopted her and mentored her and made her Batgirl - she became Black Bat and Orphan at some point but idk what's up with that love her though - has trouble with words - loves to dance - I would die for Cass Cain I adore her
Damian Wayne - another assassin child - this one's Bruce and Talia's bio kid - raised in the league of assassins until Talia brought him to Bruce - had to learn not to kill people and that killing is not how we rise in the ranks here - no you can't stab Tim and become Robin that's not how this works - bit of a brat at first, grows so much as a character - animal lover - Bruce dies and Dick becomes Batman for a while. he makes Damian his Robin - he also loves art and video games and he learns how to be a kid again - when the writers aren't COWARDS - I love Damian so much he needs so much love - grumpy exterior, cares very much but will stab you if you suggest it
Duke Thomas - glowy boi - tried to beat the Riddler and save the city at nine. I love - his parents were Jokerized when he was a teen and he ended up in the foster care system for a while - joined a group of kids called We are Robin and was amazing - I love We are Robin so much it's so good Duke is incredible - look at him go he's leading a group of vigilante kids it's excellent - becomes Bruce's foster son at some point - becomes a vigilante named Signal. only one of the bats with common sense he has a helmet - he can also turn invisible - Duke is the only meta he can see... see light in the past? he can see light patterns a few minutes into the past and into the future - so he can see what you did a few minutes ago and what you're going to do a few minutes from now - also he has x-ray vision - and shadow powers?? now??? - calls his ability to see light stuff ghost vision - I love - honestly best bat he's so good - gets fanonized as the "sane" one. he is not. - once jumped out of a moving police car and off a bridge - Duke is by no means the sane one he's just as chaotic as the others - what a dumbass. it's great - represents light and hope and truth and I just have so many emotions about Duke Thomas

Little Village pt.2*Outer Banks*
Find part one here!
word count - 2407 warnings- a little bit of underage drinking but nothing other than that synopsis - June is overwhelmed with support from her little family. She struggles with the fear of taking after her own parents. As word starts to spread that she is pregnant, June has to decide which battles she’s going to fight and which she’ll let slide.  tagging - @apoguecalledjj @ijustreallylovethem @jxpiter-sxturn  a/n - so I just realized that “She Used to be Mine” from Waitress is pretty on par with the story I had planned out for June, so do with that what you will. I hope you enjoy this as much as the last one! The love I received made me feel so amazing, you have no idea. Thank you all so much! You know the drill; stay safe, stay healthy, stay groovy!
***
June could have very well told them that the sky was blue from the boys’ lack of reaction.
“Say something,” Kie said, hands on June’s shoulder.
“We knew,” John B said finally.
“You knew?”
“Well, actually, I figured it out,” JJ said, leaning back in his chair and tucking his hands behind his head.
“When?” June asked, voice breaking.
“That day I came home early.”
“How?”
“I know you better than you think, Jue. You were sick, you weren’t drinking, you barely even yelled at me for smoking in the house-”
“You were smoking in the house?”
“Shut up, John B. So, yeah, I figured it out. I had to tell John B because, well, you’re his big sis. Pope was being a snoop and he overheard.”
Mouth hung open, June dropped her head into her hands.
“And you didn’t tell me?” Kie asked. “What happened to no secrets between Pogues?”
“We thought you knew!” Pope protested. “Being a girl and all, we thought she told you.”
June wanted to vomit all over the floor. They knew this entire time. She had been trying to hide it for weeks and they knew. But they didn’t hate her. They didn’t treat her any differently. They still cared for her.
An unwanted wave of emotion passed through June and a sob came from her mouth, followed by a few tears. Kie dropped to her knees, arms still around June’s shoulders.
John B slid out of his chair and joined her on the floor.
“Hey, Junebird?” She looked up at him, shocked to hear her old nickname coming from his mouth. There were tears in his eyes as he folded her hands in his. “You’re not alone in this. I’m right beside you.”
“Yeah,” JJ said. “You’ve been there for us when we needed it. We’ve got your back.”
“Anything my family can do for you,” Pope added, scooting closer. “Just name it and it’s yours.”
“We’re your family, June,” whispered Kie. “We’re not going anywhere.”
When the emotions hit again, June reached out and pulled John B into a tight hug, trying to keep herself from crying in front of her little brother. A feeling of strength passed through her when John B hugged her back. Kie dropped her head against June’s shoulder. Soon, she felt JJ and Pope add themselves to the hug, June crying at the center.
She wasn’t sure why she had ever doubted them. Kie was right. They had always been her family. While it was true that her dad had been murdered only a year ago, she had lost him long before that. Without a mother and without a father, June wondered to herself how well she could raise a child. Was she even the right person to do so? What kind of life could she give a baby, working double shifts at a diner?
She wouldn’t let herself think about it now, though. For now, she wanted to be content that no matter what happened, she had a family surrounding her to help her raise a child. That was all she needed.
***
JJ tossed the book onto the dining room table, making June pick up her head. She blinked sleep out of her eyes as she looked up at him and then back down at the book.
“What’s this?” She asked, picking up the book.
“Baby names,” he said, flopping into the chair across from her, kicking his feet up onto the table.
“Feet off the table, J,” she said, flipping through the book. JJ rolled his eyes, not moving his feet. “Just because I’m pregnant doesn’t mean I won’t kick your ass.”
JJ grinned and dropping his feet back down to the ground, leaning forward to snatch the book out of June’s hands. She sighed, glaring at him.
“Since we know it’s going to be a boy, I’m just going to ignore all the girl names,” he said, flipping to the back of the book.
“We don’t know it’s going to be a boy,” June said, dropping her tired head into her hands. JJ put his fingers to his temple and squeezed his eyes shut. “What are you doing?”
“Manifesting.”
“Stop manifesting my baby.”
“Our baby, Jue.” June shook her head. “Little baby Pogue will be one of us from birth.”
“Great,” June said, leaning back with a hand on her stomach.
“So, I was thinking you need a good, strong name. Oh, I know a perfect on.” JJ stuck his finger in the air as if it was a light bulb. “JJ. It’s perfect.”
“If you think I’m naming my baby after you, J, think again,” June said, closing her eyes. “Besides, I don’t think want to think about names until baby is born.”
“Oh, well, the others already have their own lists so you’re gonna have to take it up with them.”
June groaned as a sharp pain shot through her back.
“Lemme guess,” she said, shifting in her seat and grimacing. “Your list just consists of your name in as many different versions as you can muster.”
“No,” JJ said, dropping the book back onto the table. “I only have one name on my list.”
“And what’s that?”
“Elliot.”
“Elliot?”
“Yeah. My mom’s name was Eleanor, so, since it’s a boy, I thought Elliot was a pretty good alternative.”
“We don’t know it’s a boy, J,” June said. But she liked the idea. June promised herself that she wouldn’t think about names until the birth. She didn’t even want to know gender until then. It wasn’t important now.
But as she lay in bed, June couldn’t help but run the name over and over in her head. Elliot.
“Little Eli?” She whispered to herself in the dark, resting a hand on her stomach. With a shake of her head, June rolled over and squeezed her eyes together.
***
June somehow thought she had more time before she began to show through her clothes. In her mind, she could pretend that she was just bloating, and maybe that was a lie she could use, but she realized quickly that wasn’t the case.
She was at the general store, picking up food for that night’s dinner. Nothing sounded good, nothing normal at least. She wanted to make peanut butter sandwiches with cucumbers and ranch, but she had a houseful of people who would probably balk at the idea.
With a basket full of food that she had no desire to eat, June went to the candy isle. Never before had she craved anything sour, but all she could think about now was sour skittles. She threw a few packets into her basket before starting for the front of the store.
Before she made it very far, someone stepped in the way.
“Get out of my way, Topper.”
Ever since Rafe had gone to rehab or wherever to get himself better, Topper had taken over as douche numero uno. He especially had it out for John B and, of course, June. He was a pest more than anything, a rock in her sandal. She just couldn’t shake him out.
“I’ve heard a rumor about you, June,” Topper said, leaning against one of the shelves as he munched on an apple. June sucked in a deep breath and tried to smile.
“And what would that be?”
“That you’ve got a little bun in the oven.” Sickness passed through her as Topper’s gaze dropped down to her stomach. June rolled her eyes to cover the fact that she wanted to vomit on his Prada shoes.
“Maybe you should stop listening to rumors,” she said, attempting to shove her way past him.
“Then I guess you’re just getting fat,” Topper said with a shrug. June sneered at him and shoved him out of her way. “Tell your brother he better watch his back. I’ve seen that girlfriend of his sneaking around a lot recently.”
June knew full well why Sarah had been sneaking around. She had let John B tell his girlfriend and ever since then, Sarah had been at the Chateau almost every morning to hold June’s hair back while she emptied her guts into the toilet. Sarah came with a helpful tips, soft hands, and quiet humming. Of course, June would never tell Topper that in a million years.
“Will do,” June said, pushing past him.
She was in a bad mood all the way back to the Chateau, grumbling to herself about stupid children and idiot boys. Pope and Kie sat outside when June got there.
“Hey,” June said as she neared.
“Howdy ho,” Pope replied, flipping through the baby name book.
“I’m going to take a nap, I think,” June said, her feet starting to drag. “I have a shift tonight so I got some pasta. Tell JJ not to burn it this time.”
“JJ burned pasta?” Kie asked, a small smile on her face. June titled her head to the side and clicked her tongue.
“Have you told your boss yet?” Pope asked. June shook her head, setting the bag of groceries down on the porch.
“I don’t think I’m going to, not until the last minute,” June said. “I just don’t want to put any more pressure on her.”
“I have no idea how you’re going to hide it,” Pope said, shaking his head and looking back at the book. June watched him scribble something on a piece of paper.
“High waisted jeans and flow-y shirts,” June told him with a smile.
“Go, rest,” Kie said, picking up the groceries. “I’ll make sure dinner gets made.”
“Thanks, babe,” June said, giving a short kiss to Kie’s head.
“You’re going to be a good mother, Jue,” Kie told her, taking June’s hand. June smiled, but she didn’t say anything. Instead, she turned toward the house and stepped inside.
Falling into her bed, June heaved out a deep sigh. Before she fell asleep, she set a quiet alarm that would give her enough time to freshen up before heading off to the diner for work.
But she couldn’t fall asleep. It didn’t matter how hard she tried or how tightly she squeezed her eyes, sleep wouldn’t come to her.
Kie’s words rumbled around in her head. A good mother...a good mother.
What did June know about being a good mother? The last thing she remembered of her own mother was watching her run out the front door, John B crying on the floor. June remembered the heartbreak she felt, not at watching her mother leave but listening to her little brother cry.
June didn’t have the first clue what it took to be a parent. Even with her little village, June wasn’t sure why she was kidding herself thinking that there was any hope for her child. Who would be raising the baby? A bunch of teenagers who wanted to spend their days smoking and drinking and herself, who was barely older and with fewer aspirations.
When her alarm started to ring, June felt herself stiffen. She wanted to sleep, but it wasn’t coming to her. And now there was no time. She pulled on the pants with the highest waist, covering the small bump, before pulling on a loose fitted shirt.
She worked and smiled through the discomfort. Her feet hurt more than usual, but she wasn’t sure why. Her back ached even from something so simple as bending down to pick plates up off of tables. It felt like even breathing made her exhausted. She spent her entire shift hiding her desire to vomit behind a smile.
The moon was out by the time June returned home, grumpier than she had been earlier in the day.
JJ and John B were sitting at the table, both Kie and Pope were gone. June was glad to see them chatting, empty bowls in on the table in front of them. When she walked in, they both turned to look at her with smiles.
“There’s some pasta left,” John B said, pointing at the stove.
“I’ll get it for you,” JJ said as he pushed himself out of the chair.
“Sit down, J. I’m pregnant, not paralyzed.”
Still, JJ went over to the stove, grabbing a clean bowl off the counter. John B patted the chair next to him and June lowered herself into it.
“I see someone finally cleaned the dishes,” she said, hiding a grimace with a smile.
“It was Pope and Kie,” John B said. “They had it done before we got home.”
“What were you two doing today anyway?” June asked, leaning back in her chair.
“Oh, just stuff,” John B said, playing his shoe laces.
“Just stuff?”
“Yeah. Just...stuff.”
June narrowed her eyes at her brother, but conceded eventually. She breathed out, dropping a hand to her stomach.
“So, JJ said that you have a list of names for the baby,” she said. “What’s your first pick?”
“Little Pogue is yours, Jue. Maybe I have a few ideas, but-”
“Are you really calling my baby ‘Little Pogue’?” June asked. JJ walked over and put down a bowl of pasta in front of June. “Thanks, J.”
“We’ve all been calling him Little Pogue,” John B said.
“And do you all think it’s going to be a boy?” June asked with a smile.
“Pope and Kie think it’s a girl,” JJ said, popping off the cap of a beer.
June rolled her eyes, eating the pasta slowly. It didn’t really make her feel any better and it was the last thing she really wanted to be eating, but she ate it anyway. There was no need to worry JJ or her brother by not eating.
“You should sleep, Junebird,” John B said, standing up and putting his hands on June’s shoulders from behind.
“Yeah,” she said with a yawn, chewing slowly on her pasta. She stood slowly, picking up her bowl.
“I’ll take that,” John B said.
“Again,” June said with a laugh. “Just pregnant, not paralyzed.”
JJ and John B started chattering to each other again, arguing about something that June didn’t really care to listen to.
“Goodnight, boys,” June sighed, starting toward the back room.
“Night, Jue!” JJ called.
“Sleep well,” John B echoed.
June smiled to herself as she shut her door. The day had been long, she was exhausted, but there was still a small glow in her heart. This time, when June crawled into her bed, she had no issues going to sleep.

Dear Cousin
Another DuckTales fic but hopefully with better writing but probably not since I’m typing this at the ass crack of dawn. Enjoy.
Lena knew something was up the minute she saw the girl. The teenager was at the library with Webby and Violet, trying to find some movies and scary stories to watch and read at that night’s sleepover. She felt the feeling of being watched and a shiver ran down her spine. She turned to a fake plant and noticed a young girl, about eight or nine, quickly duck back behind the plant. Lena took a mental note to keep an eye on her.
Later, as the girls had moved on upstairs to find some Manga, Lena noticed the mysterious girl watching them from behind a shelf.
“Hey guys, I’m going to go grab some corn nuts.” She told her friends, discreetly nodding her head in the direction of the girl. Webby and Violet nodded in affirmation, knowing all too well she’d used the code word for “we’re being followed”. Lena left, walking right past the girl and finding a position to attack from.
When the young girl thought Lena was gone, she started creeping towards Webby and Violet, who were “innocently” looking at manga and definitely not on guard waiting to strike at any given moment. Lena seized her moment and put her hand over the girl’s mouth and restrained her before dragging her to a bean bag chair. Fortunately, the librarian on duty wasn’t paying attention, instead reading some cheesy dime store romance novel with a flustered face and a not-so-innocent smile on her lips. Lena pinned the girl down in the chair.
“Who are you and what do you want? And don’t try any coy acts on me, kid. I know you’re a De Spell. You reek of it.” Lena hissed, not trying to draw attention to them. The girl’s eyes widened. She really did look like a De Spell, stark white feathers and silky black hair that ran to just above her shoulders and big dark eyes. She worse a black romper with a red blouse and carried a plush raven. Lena was also correct in her “reeking” like one, she smelled of different herbs and spices and other magical ingredients.
“You don’t miss a mark, do you?” The girl said, no emotion showing on her face.
“I don’t miss a mark because I know what kind of ploy this is. I was part of it for fifteen years.”
“So you’re Lena, the failure? Auntie Magica said you were dead.”
“Your ‘auntie’ is a liar, kid.”
“It’s Minima. Minima De Spell.”
“Wow, she didn’t even give you a pseudonym. How creative. Guess she likes this puppet more than me.” Lena rolled her eyes.
“I’m not a puppet, stupida. Unlike you, I’m real. Hatched from an egg, grew up normally. I’m not some shadow dummy.”
“I have a friend over there’s who’s a master in at least three types of martial arts and I have the right mind to call her over so she can give you a very bad time just for saying that.”
“And what will it look like to the librarian when an innocent little girl is screaming for help because three older girls are attacking her unprovoked?” Minima batted her eyelashes innocently. Lena glared at her.
“You wouldn’t dare.” She hissed through her teeth. Minima gave a sly smirk.
“Try me.”
Lena sighed, knowing full well what this would ensue.
“Okay. Fine. Then you’re coming with us and you’re going to explain yourself.”
After 20 minutes and a lot of fussing from the younger girl, Lena, Violet, and Webby had Minima cornered in Lena’s old hideout.
“Name?” Violet interrogated.
“Minima De Spell.”
“Age?”
“Eight, turning nine in two weeks.”
“Birthday?”
“August 18th.”
“How are you related to Magica De Spell? Are you a shadow like me?” It was Lena’s turn to question.
“No I’m not a shadow. I’m her real niece. My dad is her brother but I haven’t seen him for years. He went on a magic mission and vanished so I’ve been staying with my nonna and my auntie.”
“What about your mom?”
“Died before I hatched. Never met her.” Lena felt a twinge of guilt in her chest.
“Why are you here?”
“To become Webby’s friend, get into McDuck manor and sneak my auntie in so she can have her revenge.” The gang groaned. Magica seriously needed something more creative than that same plot over and over again.
“Listen Minima. We’re going to let you go but you’re going to go home and tell your family you’ve been found out and you’re not coming back to Duckburg again. Understand?” Webby tried to intimidate the younger girl.
“Fine.” Minima shot back.
“Pink, Vi, can I have a minute alone with her?” Lena asked. The expressions of the two girls immediately softened and they nodded, going back up the ladder. Lena knelt in front of Minima.
“Look, I was Magica’s puppet for fifteen years. It was hell, okay? I didn’t understand what family was until I met Webby and the McDucks. Family isn’t supposed to use you to get revenge, family isn’t supposed to yell at you and slap you for doing something wrong, family isn’t supposed to put you down all the time. Family is supposed to lift you up and help you succeed, sure you fight a lot but you always make up because you love each other. Family isn’t necessarily the people you share blood with, but it’s the people you choose to be close with.” Lena explained, realizing how a year ago she wouldn’t have bought this junk either. “You’re still young and impressionable. You shouldn’t be put up to this kind of mission. You should be running around outside picking flowers or playing tag or dressing up some poor cat.” Minima laughed at that. “True family wouldn’t put a nine year old on such a mission with such an emotional toll. I can’t speak for your Nonna, since I never met her, but Magica sure as hell isn’t any family you want.” Minima looked at the ground, quiet as stone.
“She said if I help her she’d help me find my dad.” Minima said quietly. Lena growled. Of COURSE Magica would pull the “missing father” card in order to coerce this little girl to help her in a murder plot. Only Magica was twisted enough to do that. Well, maybe there were other people twisted enough but Magica was the only one Lena knew.
“Does your Nonna know about this?”
“No. I haven’t seen her in a year since my aunt took me.”
“Look, Minima. We’re cousins who have gone through the same thing. I can help you. You don’t need to listen to Magica, I’m sure Da-er-Scrooge can help us find your dad. I’m willing to help you, no conditions except that you give up this stupid mission and live out your childhood. Don’t make the same mistakes I did, Poco Cugina. Come home with me, okay?” She held out her hand. Minima’s eyes were filled with tears. She lept into Lena and hugged her, crying. Lena held her and rubbed her back.
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. Mi dispiace. Sono così dispiaciuto.” Minima sobbed into her cousin’s shoulder. Lena stood up and picked her up.
“It’s okay, little cuz. It’s okay. I’ve got you now. I promise.”
It nearly gave Scrooge a heart attack when he saw the girls come back with Lena holding a small child that looked suspiciously like Magica De Spell. When Lena explained the situation, he seemed to soften. He called for Beakley to take Minima and clean her up. Lena went with them while Webby and Violet set up the sleepover stuff. They were able to get her cleaned up and into some of Webby’s old pajamas and put a hot meal in front of her, which the young girl ate as if eating would be illegal the next day.
The rest of the night was all laughs, screams, and pillow fights with little sleeping. It seemed Minima didn’t have as much trauma as Lena and they were finding out new things about her every minute. That night, as they were falling asleep with Minima curled up in a fetal position snuggled between Lena and Webby, Lena went over the list in her head.
Minima De Spell. She was almost nine years old. She was an orphan. Her favorite color was red. Her favorite food was Grilled Cheese made on a panini press with tomato soup. Her favorite board game was candy land. Her favorite card game was Uno. Her favorite movie was The Road To El Dorado (when Webby heard this she enthusiastically promised to coerce Scrooge to take them there someday so Minima could see the real place). Her favorite book was The King Of Ireland’s Son. She was a second year in Magic Primary school and could turn Pens into Flowers. She was awesome at pillow fights (seeing as she could charm the pillows to go after her victim of choice, hitting them repeatedly until she gave the command to stop). She spoke Italian and English and could read Sumerian. She was just a little girl who was forced to grow up too fast. She was Lena McDuck’s little cousin.

▶▶ A Wolf in My Bed, A Man in My Heart by sterekanigans Teen And Up | 7,332w It's not everyday that you adopt a pet wolf, but for Stiles, newly crowned King, perhaps it is exactly what he needs.
▶▶ Absence Makes the Holes Grow Wider by batwynn ★ N/A | 4,928w Stiles breathes in deeply, and watches a seagull silently drift above him. The cold air is sharp in his chest, but it feels like freedom and the right choice. He breathes out and it doesn't hurt anymore. Yeah, he made the right choice.
▶▶ Adventures and Explorations Series [1] A Simple Life by Survivah Teen And Up | 13,763w Derek plans to spend the rest of his life holed up in the woods after Laura dies. Then he meets a stubborn young fox, and the stubborn young fox meets an urn of Deaton's magic powder, and his plans change [2] Finding Miracles by Survivah Mature | 16,581w Stiles was planning on just being a fox for his entire life. Then, well, magic, true love, blah blah blah, things got complicated. But as it turns out, he still has a lot to learn about this new world he's living in. Humanity, man. It's weird.
▶▶ All I Want (Wrapped and Unwrapped) by fauvistfly Mature | 2,098w 5 times Stiles gets a pretty good idea of how well-endowed Derek is +1 time he gets to see it in all its glory. Also included: excessive holiday puns, embarrassing amounts of blushing, and lots and lots of dick thoughts.
▶▶ Always Had the Key by Omni ★ Teen And Up | 3,304w Years after Derek's left Beacon Hills, he runs into Stiles at a conference for werewolves and their emissaries. While they both have changed a lot, some things still remain the same.
▶▶ Ash Buried Under Snow by Kitty_KatAllie Teen And Up | 5,879w Stiles Stilinski, aged 19, has been raised by the Argent family since his twelfth year. While he may not be the worst Hunter to ever Hunt, he has a few secrets (and quirks) that keep him from truly fitting into the life of his adoptive family. He's great at faking till he makes it, that is until the day a new Hunt is named just in time for Christmas... and it's the same name as the one written onto his body. And soul.
▶▶ But Then What... by Stoney [Note: Restricted. AO3 account is required.] Explicit | 24,343w Senior year is almost over, and all Stiles needs to do is keep his head down to survive. A teacher calls in a favor, leaving him stuck tutoring Derek Hale, one of the most popular jocks in school and a member of a group of douchecanoes who have bullied Stiles for years. He's someone Stiles totally hates. Totally. Like, doesn't like him even a little bit. DEFINITELY isn't attracted to him. Except that is a total lie. Fuck his life, seriously.
▶▶ Cornerstone by Vendelin Explicit | 83,738w Suffering from PTSD, ex-Marine Derek Hale moves back to Beacon Hills to open a bookshop and find a calmer life. That’s where he meets Stiles, completely by accident. Stiles is talkative, charming and curious. Somehow, despite the fact that he’s blind, he’s able to read Derek like no one else.
▶▶ fancy meeting you here by bibliosexual Teen And Up | 1,870w Instead of the kind of mass dance party in a dark, sweaty basement he’d been expecting, he was faced with a handful of people sitting around on the floor of Erica’s living room in T-shirts and jeans (and the one guy in the Captain America suit), eating pizza off paper plates and playing Cards Against Humanity. An iPod dock by the door was belting out ""Hooked on a Feeling.” There were a few red and black balloons floating in a corner, and a snack table against the wall laden with pizza boxes and chips and dip. It felt pretty much exactly like all the parties Stiles had ever been to in high school. Except that those parties had never featured a (hot) guy who looked up when Stiles came in and raked curious, appreciative eyes down Stiles’ body before meeting his eyes, smirking, and going back to studying his cards. Holy shit.

▶▶ Gonna Write a Classic by jezziejay Mature | 6,067w The sexploits that Stiles writes about aren’t autobiographical. There’s never been anything overtly salacious about his own sexlife, nothing that was ever going to be screenplayed for a porno, but he still has a very creative imagination to work with. Usually.
▶▶ guess who by haleofStilesheart General | 4,140w The annual Christmas office party at Hale and Associates Law Firm was one of Stiles’ favorite times of the year.

▶▶ if i built you in miniature by keskasi ★ Teen And Up | 6,836w Derek quietly loves Christmas and is not afraid to wear the sweaters to show it. He hosts a children's TV show about science and history, builds model trains, and is painfully awkward. Stiles works in a Hallmark-type store that sells Christmas decorations and model train pieces, and might have an unhealthy appreciation for sweaters. Of course he was going to fall for Derek. Of course he was.

▶▶ I'll Get Over This in a Lily Bit by Veera_Kara General | 2,053w So Derek has been Stiles’ number uno enemy since like day ONE okay nothing aggravates him more than seeing Derek’s dumb jock pretty boy face every morning of every day of high school. In fact, Stiles hates that fucker SO much that he's been on a quest to give Derek the most fucked up flower bouquets for his girlfriend that secretly mean "I hate your guts" or "you smell like a toilet" or whatever.
▶▶ Important Things by suzvoy Mature | 71,466w Stiles learns that even with werewolves, giant lizards and psychopathic hunters on the loose, life can still find other ways to screw with you. Case in point: everyone keeps assuming he and Derek are a couple. What the hell?
▶▶ Inevitability (About Damn Time) by accordingtomel Explicit | 9,707w "My dad thinks Derek and I are dating, Scott. Did you miss that part?"
▶▶ Keeping Up With The Stilinskis by hales-republic N/A | 2,070w He understood the meaning of balance; how to prioritize his kid, his career, and spend time with his friends. He learnt how to not lose his mind every time he caught Luke trying to sneak out of the house (during these times, he also learnt how to ignore his dad laughing uproariously muttering something about apples and trees). What he hasn’t learnt is how to react when his kid–his fifteen-year old kid–comes home with a deputy. He still doesn’t know how to react and more importantly, what to react to first. The fact that Luke potentially fucked up so hard he had to get escorted home by a cop or that the cop looked downright murderous and Stiles still found that attractive."

▶▶ Little Cabin in the Woods by trenonny N/A | 2,545w "Your grandmother is baba yaga." There was a growl in the statement, but a quiet one because the woods were silent, the sky was grey with clouds, and who knew just how well a witch straight out of Slavic folklore could hear.
▶▶ Love At First Drink by gryvon Mature | 4,916w Derek wakes up with dozens of comments on an Instagram photo he doesn't remember taking with a stranger wearing the engagement ring he bought for his girlfriend. Kate is not pleased. Stiles thinks it's hilarious.

▶▶ New Traditions by baneofawolf (InTheArmsofaThief) ★ General | 4,576w Stiles fiddled with his phone, absently closing and reopening the same app over and over. He'd been thinking about this day for months. Well, for years, if he was being honest with himself, but the actual plan for this actual day had only started forming a few months ago. He'd been thinking about this ever since he found out where Derek was.

He blinks, expression suddenly going hopeful, "Why, did he say something?" * "I have worked at Beacon Hills Office Supplies for two and a half years," Stiles pretends to hang himself with his tie, glances out of the conference room to where Derek is signing for a package with a suspicious look on his face. "It's not all bad, I guess?"
▶▶ The Road Hazards of Abs by Leslie_Knope Teen And Up | 1,482w There is a guy. A really hot guy, in fact, who has the audacity to jog on the sidewalk shirtless, as if Stiles has the mental capacity to deal with that at seven in the goddamn morning. He does not.

His cocky grin, however, is fading quickly into a look of shock and confusion. Other than a pelt shaped into a sloppy kilt, his legs are bare too, despite the chill winds coming in off the ocean. "You're not a girl," he says in a gently lilting accent that's like an odd blend of all the coastal voices Derek's ever heard, squinting at Derek like his eyes might somehow be deceiving him.
▶▶ These Stars Will Guide Us Home by anodyneer Teen And Up | 9,937w Derek fell for Stiles from the first time he saw him in a crowded planetarium, and the feeling was definitely mutual. For as well as they got to know each other over the weeks that followed, Derek still couldn't help feeling like a piece of the puzzle was missing - namely, the piece involving Stiles' home life. But because I expected to hate it in no way am I going to let you change my mind just because you're gorgeous and funny and intelligent oh no my friend is not winning this.
▶▶ Written Can't Be Denied by lookslikenico, winglesswarrior Teen And Up | 54,729w The story goes that, the first time you meet your 'soulmate', the universe will give you a sign in what should be the most obvious way - somewhere in your immediate vicinity the word 'soulmate' will appear. If reports of 'soulmates' are to be believed, rather than being written of as hopeful delusions, then this 'obvious' signal is anything but, fleeting as it is. The word seemingly only appears for a matter of moments and only when two people first meet. There is no guarantee that they will be looking in the correct direction to see it, nor that they will have any idea who their supposed 'soulmate' actually is. A fact that causes havoc the day that up and coming actor, Stiles Stilinski holds up a bottle emblazoned with the word 'soulmate' in the middle of a press conference where Derek Hale is working as a photographer, in the middle of the worst day of his life...

So when the sheriff gets shot, Derek is roped in to stepping up as Stiles' temporary alpha while he recovers. Derek knew it was going to be a bad idea, but he never could have predicted all of the ways that Stiles would end up turning his life upside down.
▶▶ ;why are you barefoot? by failwolfhale General | 2,865w Derek is twelve years old and he’s outside with Laura when the scent catches them. They don’t even bother putting their shoes back on before running from the river where they’d been hunting for mudbugs. Derek clings to his sister’s hand, two weeks from being eighteen and as tough as they come. Twigs and rocks and thorns and roots tear into their feet as they run but the cuts heal as quickly as they acquire new ones and it doesn’t matter. By the time they get there, Peter is laying on the ground outside the house, unconscious with little Cora in his arms, protecting her from the flames that were licking up the wood of the house. Derek runs for it but Laura holds him back tightly, clinging to him, her blue eyes wide and frightened. Derek can hear their family inside and he wonders why Laura’s not trying to do something. That’s when a loud roar goes up, Laura collapses, and when she opens her eyes again they’re crimson red and Derek knows their family is lost to them.
