hey so tonight i am thinking about how felix had every right to put his hands on oliver's chest and shove him away and yell at him and call off the party and kick him out right in that moment when they got back from his parent's house–

but instead he gently pushes his hands away, almost seems to subconsciously reach for them afterwards, can never actually be mad because he still cares about him and wants to believe things can be okay despite everything.

No thoughts, head empty. Just thinking about how when Buck comes out to his sister and all his friends at the 118 he’s going to feel so relieved when they’re accepting. Then when he comes out to Eddie and he’s also accepting and tells him he still loves him and that he’s his best friend and nothing will ever change that, Buck will feel an ache in his heart and wonder “Why do I feel like this? Shouldn’t I be happy that Eddie is so accepting? Shouldn’t I be happy that he’s not jealous of Tommy and I’s relationship?” Then it will hit him that he’s in love with his best friend.

Here is my crack theory: Rhysand isn’t really that powerful. He hides from the other courts because he’s actually weak. His “mask” is acting all evil and strong so people avoid him but he’s actually weak af which is why he can’t do shit to fix his court. He created Velaris so he can live in peace at least, letting Keir deal with the rest bc he is more powerful. Lucien discovers this once he becomes High Lord when he absolutely tears his magic to shreds. Lucien ends up being the most powerful High Lord owing to the nature of his dual magic.

They really gave Sidon a fiancee lmao. Interestingly, he is really awkward around her so far. Maybe I’m not far enough into the game, but perhaps it was arranged and they don’t love each other like that?

I will say, my first thought seeing Yona was “!!!!oh?? Fish lady??! Zelda get over here there’s one for each of you!”

Honestly, it's the fact that she came out of nowhere that bugs me. It's like they saw people shipping Sidon and Link, and then shoved a female character in to create some forced heteronormativity.

I just know people are going to take this and run with it, and I know that there will be Yona Bashing. Unfortunately, she's going to get the short end of the fandom now.

(Possibly part one of) Rosie combines their two hyperfixations into a dissection of characters and songs!!!

This time it’s Ghost and Soap in the context of “It Will Come Back” by Hozier.

In Hozier’s own words, “It Will Come Back” is “..about asking somebody to do the right- the merciful thing and to cut all the ropes, cut all the ties.” The lyrics in this song often tie back to imagery of a feral animal, one that becomes dependent on human interaction. This compares the narrators love to that of a feral animal that depends on humans for warmth, shelter, food, etc. Later in the song, the narrator begs their lover not to show them these small kindnesses if it will only be temporary(“Don’t let it in with no intention to keep it”).

In this case, Ghost is the narrator who depends on every small kindnesses to survive. This imagery of a feral animal prevails with Ghost as well, as if due to his past and due to his actions, he cannot see himself as human. Another interpretation could be that he see’s himself without a soul, and is being for his lover(Soap) to give him that feeling of humanity back(“Don’t give it a hand, offer it a soul”).

Ghost is trying to convince not only Soap but ultimately himself that he would be better off not feeling this love, and is more acclimated to loneliness(“Leave it to the land, this is what it knows”). He’s begging to stop being led on, even begging to be treated poorly rather than fall into the trap of safety(“Jesus Christ, don’t be kind to it”).

In the end, Ghost would rather be left alone and have this overwhelming sense of loneliness than be loved and know better will be left, one way or the other. He and Soap are actively serving in the military, and he is fully aware that either of them could die at any moment. However, some primal, human, part of him wants to be loved but it’s as if he’s fighting himself more than he is Soap.

Soap is treating him well(Feeding it, letting it in, etc.) but Ghost can’t help but know that it can’t last forever. It would be easier to leave behind the safety and comfort of his love than deal with the heartbreak.
