You take the same bus as him every morning. You’re a popular cheerleader, and he’s the quiet, studious boy in your class who doesn’t talk to anyone. You think he’s pretty cute, but he never notices you like everyone else does. What if he’s made to, after he has to tutor your failing ass?

╭┈─────── ೄྀ࿐ ˊˎ-╰┈➤ ❝ [07/12/22] ❞
Xiao takes bus 015 every morning.
You know this, because everyday you take the same one.
It’s usually very busy on the way to the school you attend, so you often struggled finding a seat.
When you’re taking the same bus everyday, you obviously start to notice commonplace things about it.
For example, you quickly picked up on the fact that the seat next to Xiao was always empty, even when the bus was practically about to burst.
You realized it wasn’t because no one wanted to sit there, but rather, nobody wanted to sit next to him.
He’s never been seen without earphones in, nor talking to somebody.
You’ve heard what your friends, and everyone else, says about him. That he’s unapproachable and rude, and is always studying.
Anyone that has ever even attempted to be his friend, or even rarer, date him, have been met with bitter rejection. He just likes being alone.
You, however, think he’s quite cute.
Of course, you thought he was kind of mean and standoffish the first time you ever had to interact with him, but a lot of bus rides ogling at him changes a person.
Like severely.
You always catch yourself daydreaming in the middle of cheer practice about him.
Like, what music is he listening to every morning? How does his hair remain oh-so utterly perfectly styled?
Your friends pick up on this behavior of yours very fast. They giggle behind your back, whispering about how you must’ve grown a crush on someone from the football team.
Itto, perhaps? You’re always partying and chatting with him.
They have absolutely no idea how wrong they are.
One day, when you were putting books into your locker, a teacher walked over to you and told you to go in the principal’s office.
Confused, you did as told, and sat down absolutely puzzled.
“Y/N, your grades are starting to suffer. If you can’t pass your upcoming exam, then you will fail this semester.”
You were stupefied. You knew all that partying and cheerleading left no time for school, but your grades couldn’t have been that bad, could they?
Alas, they were. But not to worry! Your principal had a solution.
“Xiao will tutor you.”
He walked into the room, muttered something under his breath, and looked at you with a sharp expression. He did not look happy.
What was his problem? Was tutoring you really going to be that bad?
Xiao clearly thought it was; it was written all over his face.
The thing is, he’s noticed for awhile now how you stare at him on the bus every morning. But what he hasn’t exactly realized is that you’re not doing it to make fun of him, but because you like him.
Why do you think he wears earphones all the time? To block out your staring!
So, he’s grown to somewhat dislike you, because you’re a popular cheerleader that probably talks behind his back for just existing, and he’s the reserved guy who always has an empty seat next to him on the bus.
Well, that seat wasn’t empty for long.
After your tutoring sessions began, you started to fill that seat out, and talked to him every morning. Well, attempted to.
He was like talking to a succulent.
Weird analogy, but it was literally like that. You try and shower it in all your love, but it doesn’t talk back. Like at all. You know it can hear you though
Overtime, you wear him down, and he finally starts having conversations with you on the way to school.
He would never admit it, but he actually enjoys your company.
He may have not liked you very much at first, but during your tutoring sessions he could see why you were so well-liked.
After spending so much time with you in preparation for your exams, he would pick up on little things about you.
For example, the way you bit your lip when thinking of an answer to a question, or how you often fidgeted with your pen when anxious or lost in thought.
He also noticed that he had started to like you.
At first, he tried to deny this to himself, because seriously? He doesn’t think he has a chance with you.
He’s not stupid. Nobody may talk to him, but they sure talk loud as hell.
He knows that you and Itto supposedly have something going on, and he would never dare try and compete with someone like him.
He doesn’t want to feel the shame and embarrassment of being rejected by you, especially when he knows there are people out there more... accepted.
He laughs to himself at this, because it’s usually him rejecting others. He dug his own grave for not being able to fit in, he thinks.
One day when he was teaching you about fancy math stuff, you zoned out and started paying more attention to his (pretty) face.
Absentmindedly, you reached out to play with a strand of his dyed hair, because how is it so healthy? You’ll never know.
He felt you stroking his hair, and immediately malfunctioned. What was he supposed to do? Brush you off?
No, instead, he buried his face in his hands, cheeks burning bright red. Even if he hid his face, you could clearly see the pink tint to the tips of his ears.
Oh, you were going to have fun with this.
The closer you got to Xiao, the more touchy you would be with him. It still took him awhile to get used to it. Scratch that, to control his reactions. His heart always beats like a galloping horse when you’re anywhere near him 💀
At this point, you consider each other friends. He comes to watch your cheer practices, and after they’re over, you take the bus back together.
When exam time finally rolled around, you bit down on your nail nervously waiting for the results.
Once it was your turn to get called up and collect your paper, you nearly screamed.
You got an A!
Unable to contain your excitement, you ran out the exam room, and found Xiao waiting at a bench.
He took his earphones out to address your running form, but was absolutely baffled when you jumped into his arms.
Awkwardly wrapping his around you, you squealed about how he was a genius, and because of him you would pass.
You could almost kiss him.
Actually, you did.
As soon as your lips met his, Xiao was stunned. Was he dreaming?
As soon as you pulled away, you laughed at the incredulous expression on his face. He almost looked like a broken cat, with half his face in a smile, and the other in disbelief.
Xiao had to bite the inside of his cheek to avoid grinning so hard. This was not very ‘cool lonely bad boy’ of him
He coughed into his fist, and mumbled about how that was nice.
Since then, Xiao has never had an empty seat next to him ever again.
...
By the way, your friends saw the whole thing.
They had chased after you because they thought something was wrong.
Their jaws were dislocated straight into hell when they saw that kiss.
Guess you didn’t like Itto?

Bruce is actually really attractive, and I have enough reasoning to make a list
He's:
Tall (. Tall enough to hit his head on the vault doorframe)
Long-legged
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Has a straight nose bridge
Has high cheekbones (more noticeable in 2nd pic below)
Has a strong jawline
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sharp eyes, but they aren't small (plus eyebags if you're into that)
Overall, he has strong, attractive facial features
Has broad, refined shoulders. You can tell he works out (or he did, when he was alive)
Even has a thick, muscly neck
Tumblr media
He has MUSCLE. Is SCULPTED. NOICE. VERY NOICE. (nice arms. Nice shoulders. Nice neck. Nice legs. Nice butt-)
(There are actually panels where you can see some of his muscles. Other than those already shown here, he's got bricky thighs-
Tumblr media
-and in the panels where we first get his name dropped, he's got those shoulder blades too-)
The one time we see him smile, and he actually has a scary one
Tumblr media
Has small, kinda sharp pupils, and his eyes remind me of a cat. We only ever saw him tense or defensive, so his resting/listening face is really cute
Tumblr media
Other than the physical appearance stuff, he also:
Takes shit without batting an eye (patience, knowing it's just how Kudo is, etc)
Kudo being all "Cut the crap Bruce and give it to me straight", after Bruce tests his blood and is rightfully Concerned because they just faced AFO
Put up with Kudo's experimenting and testing over Yoichi's transferable Factor
Did ya'll see the look on Kudo's face when he realized he had Yoichi's Factor/will? Kudo was going to start in nonsense and Bruce just dealt with that.
Also something I noticed when looking back at the images here; Bruce has bandages on his arms in the void. But not when he faced AFO in the sewers.
Were he and Kudo cutting their arms open in their experimenting over Yoichi's theory? Is this why Kudo has two gauntlets instead of his one? Why we never see his bare arms in the void? That he always keeps his arms down so there's no slip?
Is smart enough to run blood tests, plus has enough common sense to pick Shinomori as his successor
He picked a guy who avoids society, has an Ability to detect danger so he can always stay away from AFO, is also a coward so he's never going to go throw himself into danger, even without knowing instinctively he stands no chance, etc.
Meanwhile, Kudo chose Bruce, who he played Hot Potato Yoichi with; but he did also trust Bruce, and put the only pure combative Ability in OFA through Bruce.
These two made their choices based on what they valued and saw the Factor needed.
Is logical, analytical, and calm.
He tried advising Midoriya on their Abilities in One For All, especially his own.
Midoriya then tried ignoring him about using Fa Jin for the first time, but found he was right, thinking: "Dammit!! I had [Lady Nagant] right where I wanted her, but... ugh! The Third was right. My parallel Quirk processes are all screwed up!" (ch. 314).
Plus, when Midoriya fixed his processing mistakes, Bruce was analyzing the way he reached his new conclusion. Pure facts, no bias, very calm, just saying it as it was.
We never see him panic. When he's caught by surprise in the sewers by AFO, Kudo, and Yoichi's little bubble event, he immediately reacts. He doesn't falter, he just knows he has to do something right now.
Was more willing to listen than Kudo to Yoichi's beckon, and probably was just following Kudo's rejection of Midoriya
While we don't see Kudo's face, we see Bruce's eyes when Yoichi calls on his heroes. Bruce was more open and receptive, or at least more impacted.
Tumblr media
Bruce was also the one to start talking, while Kudo just kept quiet.
He actually communicates a lot
When Yoichi called them to support Midoriya, Bruce started talking to paint a picture of why they thought the way they did, so Yoichi understood where they were coming from.
(Though he seems to beat about the bush sometimes, since Kudo spoke up to be direct on how they couldn't just put their trust in some starry-eyed teenager. Plus, when Kudo tells him to just tell him what's wrong [double Factors])
When Midoriya first used Fa Jin against Nagant, Bruce came out just to tell him he knew what he was trying, but that Midoriya wasn't ready; and Midoriya found he was right. Midoriya just didn't want to listen to him then.
He asks Kudo for clarification after finding Kudo had two Factors in him after the sewer incident ("Just to be sure, All For One didn't touch you, right?") Kudo knew him well enough to go "stop beating around the bush and tell me", so Bruce was probably gonna start with questions, theories, and trying to understand everything in general, before saying "yeah you have two Factors. Don't know why".
Is strong-willed and loyal.
He followed Kudo, even to death, carrying on the cause he started until it ended with him.
Plus, when talking about how AFO needs a strong will to override OFA's own, we first see Bruce, Kudo, and Yoichi.
AFO couldn't steal OFA because the will was too strong for him, and that was back during Banjo's time. Since Shinomori never actually tried opposing AFO and just hid, we can assume the first Three (Yoichi, Kudo, Bruce) already had an accumulation of strong willpower that made OFA un-stealable. Those three are a strong enough foundation, and the main wills, that the other users just become bonuses.
Kudo, also saying that Midoriya needs allies with the same will and drive as him... hey Kudo, you're talking about yourself and your old allies, aren't you? That's why you look at Yoichi and Bruce when you say this.
Not only is Bruce attractive, but he's got good character. THE END.

I love that Death Stranding’s core message is essentially, “life is worth living and people are worth loving.” It’s easy to get lost in the details of its universe + characters and thus lose sight of that.
Death Stranding argues that life is worthwhile to fight for even if the world will inevitably end, because we’re still here. That people are worthy of empathy even if they’ve done horrible things, because it was their own suffering and moral efforts that led them there.
Die-Hardman was complicit in the murder of Cliff Unger and the causes of the Last Stranding. He can be forgiven because he loved Cliff and Bridget, never forgave himself, and dedicated his life to trying to make the world better, the only ways he knew how.
Higgs killed thousands and tried to end the world. He can be forgiven because he wasn’t of sound mind and is an abuse victim who never had a real opportunity to be better than he was.
Amelie sacrificed mothers and children for her own ends, and abused the two men who loved her the most. She can be forgiven because she can’t connect with human experience and made the selfless choice to be the sacrifice so humanity could have another chance.
Coffin was a terrorist that abandoned her daughter and radicalized a desperate, lonely young man into a life of violence. She can be forgiven because she believed it was necessary for the greater good, she took accountability for the harm she caused, and she loved those two kids more than anything else in the world.
The game doesn’t require you to forgive its characters, but it invites you to. It provides you with the reasons every given character became the way they are, and leaves it open to the player’s judgment. It asks, “maybe it wasn’t right, but can you understand?” It says, yes, this character did some very bad things, but can you love them anyway? Will you try?
DS argues that disconnection and isolation comes from a shortage of fellow empathy. That’s probably why Kojima went out of his way to retcon Higgs’ story and make his tragedy even more empathetic than it originally was. DS’s answer to social problems isn’t “be better,” it’s “learn how to forgive.”
Hell is other people. Heaven is each other.

*KICKS THE DOOR DOWN* WWWAIT FREYA I HAVE MIXED FEELINGS ON FANDOMS VIEW OF THIS SHIP I NEED TO KNOW UR OPINION. HOMUMIKU???
WKSHJSHJDBJHAHAHAH HIIIII, GRACE!!!! ❤️💕💞💝💗💖💘💓💕💞💖💞💘
Homumiko (HUGE spoilers for DGS after the bingo sheet):
Tumblr media
I have been waiting to get into this ship properly, because I have THOUGHTS and I need to be forced to get them out coherently.
Let's get into the basic ship itself. Honestly? No comment. I think hmmk cheats a bit by relying on the literal decades people have spent shipping Holmes and Watson together, and I doubt that they would be half as popular without this history; but, as someone who has never had strong feelings about HolmesWatson either way, I don't have that bias! Even if we're just going off of DGS and looking at how they complement and trust each other, and are obviously more comfortable around one another than most other people, I don't really have a strong opinion on them. I do think they're close, but whether that bond is platonic, romantic, sexual or some mix of the two is just not something I particularly care about. You know who I do care about, though?
Susato-san.
OKAY, SIT DOWN, EVERYONE BECAUSE THE SHIP BINGO PART OF THIS IS OVER, AND NOW WE'RE GOING TO TALK ABOUT THE PARTS OF HMMK I DO CARE ABOUT AND WHY THAT ACTUALLY HAS VERY LITTLE TO DO WITH THEM AND EVERYTHING TO DO WITH HER.
Let's get this out of the way first. Based on my very modern sensibilities, I take a rather harsh stance on Mikotoba's parenting.
Do I think he loves his daughter? Sure. But which parts of his daughter? Because it's very easy to love a child who is always obedient, elegant and the literal embodiment of idealised Japanese womanhood without knowing or truly even looking at her. I think Susato made it easy for him to love her, because she believed she had to earn it. Her father left when she was born, consumed by grief over her mother's death -- her mother, whom she killed. I know the game tries to justify this by saying it was Jigoku who dragged him away (and I do think him leaving was good for him, because I doubt he would have been a good father even if he'd stayed due to his grief), but the point is that he still left. For six years. And when he returned, he didn't even return because of her (whether she knew that from the moment she met him or not is debatable, but I think, at least on a subconscious level, she knew. And, of course, it's also debatable whether he could have returned sooner because of his commitment as a transfer student, but the Mikotobas are a powerful family, and, if Soseki could return before his period of learning was fully up, I think he would have been able to pull strings to return home if he wanted to).
This falls under speculation, so I understand not agreeing with it, but I don't think Mikotoba ever properly spoke to Susato when she was a child, especially not about what he did in England. I believe that a part of the reason why Susato started reading the Sherlock Holmes stories to begin with was because they featured a doctor in London, like her father had been, and she wanted to feel closer to him through those stories. And it probably worked! Her father probably did start engaging with her more after after she picked them up, because it was an easy way to connect with her. That's why I believe she was so insistent on the existence of John H. Watson, as a doctor, when she met Iris and learnt the truth.
There's this distance between Susato and her father which glimpse in moments in the game, like how he remarks on her lack of composure in court (suggesting that he isn't used to seeing her yamato nadeshiko mask slip), how he less requests her trust and more orders or expects it forthright, and how he seems reluctant to face the parts of her that inconvenience him (like how he asks her to play the koto when he isn't home and how, when faced by her real anger, he looks to Holmes to explain the situation rather than actually attempt to himself).
HOWEVER, in the setting of the game (Meiji-era Japan), I will concede that Mikotoba is a fantastic father. He may not have been very present in her life growing up, but men largely weren't expected to be. Their jobs were to provide for their children, not nurture them. And Mikotoba went well beyond his duty in that regard. Add to that the fact that he had her properly educated, ensured she knew how to defend herself, and allowed her to pursue her studies overseas at a level that was on par with any man, and you can see that he's really quite a great father; which is why I don't think he sees his absence as a flaw or even notices he was absent. Susato, though, does.
Now, Susato is obviously a product of her time, too, so I believe she'd be insulted if anyone was to suggest that her father or childhood was lacking in some way. That being said, I do believe she is aware of the distance between them in a way he is not. I think her affection for him is founded on a sense of duty and filial piety rather than pure love (although, obviously, she does love him), and, as she grew older, she stopped vying for his affection; hence why she's obsessed with the Great Detective more so than anyone else when we meet her. I also think that this distance contributed to her becoming so attached to Kazuma, in spite of the fact that he kept her at arm's length, too; he may not have allowed her very close, but he was always there, and he saw her for who she truly was. When she leaves at the end of the first game, Susato is not so much anxious that her father is ill as she is shaken -- she seems more upset that she's leaving her Baker Street family rather than that her actual father might be dying, and I think that's because she knows how to live without him. This distance between them, I believe, becomes all the more apparent to her when she goes to London and sees the deep bond held between Iris and Holmes.
And, speaking of, you know who else I think is aware of the distance between them and the part he played in creating that distance? The Great Detective himself, Mr. Sherlock Holmes.
See, I think Holmes has always known about Susato. I'm quite sure that, from the moment they met, he knew that Mikotoba was running away from something and that he had left an infant daughter back home. He just didn't care.
We don't know what Holmes was like when he was younger, but I believe he was a lot closer to how he appears in a lot of modern adaptations and how Watson describes him in some of the Sherlock Holmes stories: the 'cold, calculating computer' character. I don't think it's a stretch to think that Holmes viewed marriage and children as mere distractions and interferences to the mind; and Mikotoba was, presumably, his first real friend. He wasn't going to let something pesky like a baby back home detract from his friend's obviously sterling character and brain! After all, it's a lot easier to ignore this nebulous, abstract entity when you simply consider its existence, and thus its abandonment, unimportant. It's a lot easier when you don't know what it's like to be a father yourself. It's a lot easier when you don't know her.
Here's the thing: I believe Holmes's image of and relation to Mikotoba began changing from the time he started raising Iris. Suddenly, that inconsequential baby seemed to bear quite a bit of consequence, actually. But it was still all right to keep dismissing her, because maybe Mikotoba's baby wasn't special the way Iris was. Maybe she was a brat or an idiot, and really not worth much time at all! Maybe she could've lived without him and been perfectly fine, regardless...? As time went on, I believe the excuses he made for Mikotoba's decision all those years ago became increasingly flimsy, but he was still able to hold onto them because The Daughter was still an indistinct figure in his mind. She wasn't quite real.
That is, until he met her.
In the game, Holmes tends to keep a certain width between himself and Susato. He very rarely initiates conversation with her the way he does Ryuunosuke, and from a Doylist (ha) perspective, this is obviously because Ryuunosuke is... the main character. Looking at it from a narrative perspective, though, I think he was afraid of hurting more than he already has and must.
Holmes is a very resolute man. He sticks by his decisions regardless of what anyone else thinks, so I don't think he ever regretted what he did. However, I do think he felt guilty. Certainly, he didn't quite take her father away from her, but he did play a role in keeping him from her for so long. I think there was a part of him that consciously guided Mikotoba away from thinking about Japan while they lived together, because, well... he didn't want him to leave.
There's an interesting layer to the separation that Holmes creates with Susato, because, beyond the distance he maintains between her and himself, he also keeps her identity separate from her father's. Contrary to how he refers to Ryuunosuke by his last name, Holmes only ever calls Susato "Miss Susato" or "my dear (madame)", and never "Miss Mikotoba". I view this is his way of, perhaps subconsciously, dividing from that little girl he once decided did not matter. And it's interesting because, to an extent, he tries to do with her and Kazuma, too.
In the SS Burya case, despite meeting Susato first and seeing how affected she is by Kazuma's "death", Holmes largely ignores her in favour of focusing on Ryuunosuke and his bond with Kazuma. He calls Kazuma Ryuunosuke's "dear companion" and pretty much only interacts with Susato when he has little other choice... until he sees her cry.
See, I believe that when Holmes found out Susato was going to England and was about to be wrapped up in the whole messy affair, he was fully committed to Not Giving a Damn about Her. Sure, he would let her and Kazuma live with him, but by no means was he going to allow himself to grow attached to her because, again, he values his relationship and history with Mikotoba too much for it to get complicated in this way. Susato's relative composure throughout the case helps him hold on to this resolution; however, when he catches that final conversation between her and Ryuunosuke in the cabin, he is finally forced to see and acknowledge the amount of pain she is truly in. It forces him to at last face the fact that he can't avoid or fake aloofness around her any longer, because she is not some nebulous, distant entity he can continue to ignore. She is an actual girl with a fiercely strong spirit, a brilliant mind and real, human emotions. A girl whom he's hurt twice-over now and must continue hurting until all his lies finally come to light.
When he makes that decision to enter the cabin and console her the only way he knows how, he throws away any hope he had of feeling anything but apathy towards her. In truth, he probably didn't have much hope of that to begin with, because at his core, Sherlock Holmes is a good man, and he cares.
He cares for her, too, even though he may have no right to. How could he not, when she loves him so openly, trusts him so readily, saves his life? How could he not, when she comes to him in the middle of the night with a secret she can't tell anyone else because his judgement is the only one she wholly trusts and believes in? How could he not, when she refuses to accept he lied despite the living, breathing evidence he did until he admits it himself? How could he not, when after everything he has done, she still looks at him the way she always has and says that she's proud that her father is the assistant of "the Great Detective"?
How could anyone not? How could Mikotoba not... love her the second he laid eyes on her?
And of course this doesn't shatter his love for Mikotoba -- he has no right to these feelings in the first place: no matter how indignant or guilty he may feel, it doesn't change the fact that he has been lying to and manipulating her the entire time they've known one another. He can't even bring himself to tell her that he's been lying; he has to go through Ryuunosuke instead, because, even after all this time, he still can't face the woman whom he's done nothing but cause pain for from the moment she was born. When he can't even give her that ounce of respect, who is he to judge Mikotoba?
So he doesn't. Till the end of the game, he keeps Susato at a distance and pretends that everything between him and Mikotoba is as it was from the start. But, inside, I think he knows it isn't. Because I think Holmes can see that Mikotoba doesn't feel half as guilty about what they've done as he does, and that he doesn't view the fact that he left Susato 16 years ago as a real problem. And while he doesn't judge Mikotoba for that, I don't think he can look past it anymore. That final investigation and dance of deduction, to me, is less an assurance that they are still the same partners they were before, and more a final farewell to their old, uncomplicated bond -- the one that did exist before they grew to love other people and understand what love truly meant to both of them.
Going back to the ship itself, I think shipping them pre-DGS works perfectly well. They both had a huge impact on each other's life and changed one another for the better; Holmes by drawing Mikotoba out from his grief, and Mikotoba by pulling Holmes from his life of solitude and loneliness. They needed each other, but it is also because of these reasons that I think there was an issue of codependency between them, hence the semi-horrible for each other box I gave them. With Mikotoba, it's clear cut. Holmes helped him run away from his very real issues at home and allowed him to live like he was a bachelor with zero familial obligations again. With Holmes, it gets a bit more foggy, but I believe that Mikotoba basically allowed him to live believing he was the only person Holmes would ever truly connect with and properly befriend. Holmes is obviously his own person and whatnot, but I do think there was a bit of unhealthy attachment there on his end if not both.
During DGS and post-DGS is where their ship gets more complicated for me, because, while Susato is still very much there at the beginning of their relationship, her role in their lives and what they did to her becomes impossible to ignore once she and Holmes actually meet. I don't believe that they can just pick up from where they left off because there is now (imo) a fundamental disagreement in how they view their actions and how it affected her. So, even if they do go back to being lovers or whatever afterwards, I feel that there should be this chasm or weight between them that they simply don't talk about or acknowledge in any way. Because I don't think they'd discuss it. Holmes because it isn't his place, Mikotoba because he sees it as a non-issue (maybe he doesnt even notice this distance), and both because sweeping unpleasantness under the rug is so ingrained into their cultures.
My main issue with the way this ship is often portrayed post-DGS (why they got a 50-50 on the I would erase them from existence box) is that it ignores what happened with Susato. The few times I've seen the concern that she might have an issue with their relationship even brought up in hmmk works is always because they're gay. Which, like!! Fair!!! It's the 1800s, I get it, but!!!! You're ignoring the actual, very big issue for why she might be hurt and that's because DGS ends with her finding out that three of the men she's closest to have been lying and using her for their own means her entire life!!!!!!!! And she just has to take it!!!!!!!
Which brings me to the second most popular interpretation of this ship which doesn't just put Iris and Susato in a box somewhere unseen, and that's the one where all four of them are a peaceful happy family with 0 issues! And this one bothers me because it seems like it's taking what Susato said at the end of the reveal as what she 100% sincerely meant down to her core, rather than something she had to say because (1) it is her duty to honour her father no matter what, and (2) because Iris was there. When she learns the entire truth, I don't think Susato knows what she truly thinks or feels about any of it; but she sees Iris, and she sees this little girl who was abandoned through her circumstances as a baby, named after her mother, and forced to grow up much sooner than she should have been, and she sees a girl who is more her sister than anyone else. So she does what she always has and tucks away her own emotions so she might tend to someone else's. She has been the perfect daughter her whole life; she can be the perfect sister.
Even if you don't subscribe to the, admittedly, harsh view of Mikotoba's parenting that I do, I don't see how you can get away from the fact that they still lied to her for a significant portion of time. Especially from Holmes, whom she trusted and believed in more than anyone else! In the face of his shoddy deductions, she still held onto her unwavering belief that he was a genius and a good man, and then it comes out that he's just been lying to her from the first day he met her. I just can't extract the ship from their treatment of Susato, so when I say that I would erase the ship from existence, it's mainly about these two bits. As with Asoryuu, the primary reason why I don't ship them personally is because I can't do that to her.
And, obviously, it's just shipping and fun and games, and everyone should feel free to ship whoever in whatever way they want bUT IN A SPECIAL WORLD MADE PERFECTLY FOR ME. iris would be perfectly oblivious, and susato would have tossed both holmes and mikotoba into the thames and left them to figure it out. In a world that must still vaguely make sense with the canon of the game, though, then Holmes would have given Mikotoba the boot and taken the kids; because he may be a coward, but at least I can see that he knows he fucked up, and he allows Susato to set the terms of their relationship, just like he does Iris.
Anyway, I'm so sorry for how long, convoluted and only tangentially-related to the ask this is, but thank you so much for it, Grace!!!! I don't think I quite got down what I meant precisely, but it's the closest to coherency I've ever gotten so. Thank you 💖💕💗💓💕💘💕
#this one's getting TAGGED bc i spent TIME on it & bc ive been trying to articulate my thoughts on holmes & susato for ages#homumiko#susato mikotoba#dgs sherlock holmes#yujin mikotoba#dai gyakuten saiban#the great ace attorney#dgs#tgaa#honestly i feel like i still didnt quite say what i wanted to but this is the best ive got so far. i like the way their relationships are#handled and depicted in canon but the fanon ones just never sat right with me#i feel like i came across as very harsh to yuujin here wjsjdgak i think he's a good man and he did his best!! grief gets the best of us#sometimes. but i cant get over how he seems to show 0 compunction for leaving susato behind as a baby and openly saying without a hint of#'oh i was also ready to be with my daughter finally' that he was FORCED out of london. like???? ALSO the way he says he wants ryuu to go#back with him & leaves susato out to dry??? i know he says it's respecting her freedom and whatnot but doesnt that seem a LITTLE neglectful#in a way? like it can very easily be read as 'oh i dont need you with me' or 'i cant be bothered to worry about you right now' especially#when he's already abandoned her once like. !!!!! and even if you dont view it that way doesnt it seem a bit dismissive of her role in those#cases? susato was crucial to all the cases ryuunosuke won (and he would attest to that) but yuujin makes it seem like it was all ryuu and#just disregards how important susato was there and i. i dont like that.#some might say that i am unfairly biased towards holmes and that's fair. i kind of am wjsdh but the reason why i dont bash on his parenting#as much is because he never pushes iris to love or respect him as her father. he very much leaves that up to her so when iris asserts at#the end that holmes IS her father you know that there is a real sense of love between them. that's why that scene is so important and#that's what validates their father-daughter relationship#ofc u could still argue im biased bc he did leave a 10 y/o to go on a cruise for who knows how long so. yea. valid WKASGAKSH#anyway. thank you SO much and im so sorry i completely went off the rails there. i hope anyone who read everything got... something from it#💕💘💓💖💖💘💖💕❤️💝💞💗💘💞💞💕💓💞💕💖💖💖💖💖💕#sorrry again grace 😔 i hope i came a little close to giving you what you wanted#mikotoba susato#mikotoba yuujin#dgs spoilers

There’s this otherwise-good post going around about not automatically believing the latest dumb yelling about “x trans woman is a pedo/other hurtful lie” but one of the things on there is “claims that they’re a non-binary exclusionist.” And it’s like. Being any sort of binary trans person doesn’t preclude you from being transphobic. This is true of trans men too. Yes you should always verify anything you hear before acting or publicizing/spreading claims but. You don’t get a free pass on calling people theyfabs just because you’re binary trans, and it’s not really on par with calling people pedos or telling lies about how people are secretly bigots. I feel like a certain subset of messages like “this person consistently makes aphobic jokes/ calls people sock or theyfab/ talks about aggro t-bros” that get discarded because the people affected just aren’t considered queer enough to care about.
ngl my first thought with that is that they're probably referring to the Contrapoints/Natalie Wynn stuff.
And like, without getting too into the weeds about it: she has said and done some stuff that very understandably rubs some people the wrong way. She's also made a huge effort to throw her support behind the nonbinary community, created hours of video content discussing and defending nonbinary identity, and has, after these issues with her were brought up, openly apologized for the things she has said that she agrees were poorly-worded/downright hurtful, or even damaging. And she is still framed as a nonbinary exclusionist, imo in no small part because she's a trans woman who made enough of a mistake that a harassment campaign could take hold.
And you're right, binary trans people can be and often are transphobic- and all of the issues you've outlined in this ask are 100% true and correct and important. I don't know the intentions behind the op, I haven't even seen the op, and I don't even know if op knows who Natalie Wynn is.
But like... my point here is just that I think what you're telling me the op said could also be an extremely valid and relevant point, in the right context.
People will use any number of things as an excuse to harass trans women; to use Natalie as an example again, her mentions were full of people accusing her of transmisogyny after she posted a video in which she spent about 10 minutes (of like 90) explaining the unique struggles with transphobia that trans men face.
And trans women can absolutely be transmisogynistic too! But hopefully you see my point here- i.e., that the veracity of an accusation doesn't depend on how often accusations like it are made to hurt marginalized people.

Sometimes I feel very sad that I didn’t just focus on one creative skill. I look at my art some days and go I wish I’d spent all my time making only that, because that way it would look better and I’d do more and it wouldn’t matter if I couldn’t write very well because my art would be amazing and I’d be able to make the stuff I really want to and maybe even get a job related to it and I wouldn’t feel like so much time was wasted. And often times it really does feel like you’re wasting time and everything is telling you to just pick something to focus on so it can mean something and you can never seem to pick one of anything.
And then other days I feel like an absolute GOD. Anyone else able to write your own fic and then draw art for it just because you can? Can you make an edit/amv after writing a silly little analysis post on the show/character that is so perfectly on beat and fits the lyrics and with transitions so slapping you get chills while watching? Can you write a short silly ditty on the guitar about how you’re feeling using the eight chords know and belt it out only a little bit off key then do a choppy little animation of your sona singing it?
I may not be the most skilled at all of the above, and it can be a little lonely to be a one man band who doesn’t play half as well as a lot of people out there, but when your power goes out or your wifi dies or you have a day off, everyone else is busy and you’re alone...
you play the best gosh dang music in existence

Regardless of if you think that the egg tree man is gaster or not, I think it is very nice how polite the guy seems to be. Like in all egg man related events we have it has been nice.
Tumblr media
He might be happy to see you when you get the chp2 egg
Tumblr media
and certainly is happy in the car! (you can only get this text if you got the egg in chp1)
Tumblr media
Seeing how the tree man orphan page for the sweepstakes links directly to the Noelle egg post, I think it is pretty safe to assume they are somewhat related to one another. Just a little egg gift to have is all!
And if you do think of the egg guy and gaster as the same dude (and I guess the intro guy too lol) then the dialoge in the vessel maker intro scene saying that Noelle is “very, very wonderful” matches up pretty well with the idea that she would get a “special” egg gift.
Idk just think there’s a polite guy givin people things and it’s nice

You would not believe your eyes
If a hulking red Dhelmise
Went silly mode as you gave it beans
… Basically any Pokémon can be cute under the right circumstances or given the right motivation and there is absolutely nothing that can make me think otherwise. Little guy or perhaps even little fella vibes, just size XXL. I am not biased at all whatsoever in this assessment

TRUE!!! the original post was just made in reference to things that had inspired my own design and a wish to see more variety among the masked long-haired braided human designs that were absolutely DOMINATING the place at the time (nothing wrong with that, love those ones and i've drawn a few myself, just came from a perspective of missing seeing the truly unique designs that made me associate the design with the artist ;-;) but yea it definitely applies outside of just him. and outside of just pigs, looking at random animals can be a great reminder of how varied and weird some stuff can actually be :D
one of my favorite ocs, who i have drawn a grand total of two times bc i have been very lazy with art lately, actually ended up happening only because i got inspired by my own post fkjdhg
Tumblr media
even tho it's a full year old at this point, still a pretty good drawing imo. i like his face :]
Tumblr media

see the problem with all of the puzzles in bg3 is like. sometimes the player (me) is stupid. and at least in a real dnd game you might get the dm to take pity on you
#the number of ‘’walkthroughs’’ that i’ve found that don’t actually. help#they tell you the map coordinates or whatever. what about if i cannot physically find what you’re talking about AT THOSE COORDINATES#or cannot figure out how to get to those coordinates (like when i spent three days trying to find karlach)#i’m in hell. actually still having a very hard time getting invested and like. not rly enjoying this game lmao#I AM PLAYING ON EXPLORER MODE AND SOMEONE GOES DOWN IN ALMOST EVERY COMBAT#also just. open world syndrome a little bit#too many quests that apparently i can’t actually move forward in yet. and too much open space#making me feel like. i need to go explore and grind when i just want to finish the quests i already have good lord#idrc about exploring every corner of the map. at this point???#tried going into the mountain pass and it was like ‘hey you’re really low level. reconsider <3’ and im like#literally WHAT is there to do for me here#(it wanted me to go to the underdark. which i figured would progress the story so i was trying to find lae’zel’s crèche while we’re here??)#also on a non gameplay note#inSANE that all of the questlog items for daughter of darkness list her and i having interactions that We Did Not#got to act 2 and she’s like ‘hey i worship shar btw. this is supposed to be a reveal’ but like. the quest log told me that immediately??#was i not supposed to read that?? she never told me that she wanted to join the justiciars. i never gave her the idol.#but it said all of those happened???#maybe i’m biased bc my first save was trying to play as her but it REALLY feels like they’re pushing her to be the main character#like. kinda sucks how she’s the only companion you can check in with and say ‘how do you think we’re doing’#and these fucking controls#why are the items hit boxes so weird. my cursor is a centimeter away and yet it still highlights something#the label isn’t actually next to the thing it’s describing so holding the alt key does nothing to show me where it is#god forbid you try to point at something through an open door#the fucking. camera angles. impossible to see what i’m doing or where i’m going because the trees and walls and shit keep getting in the way#straight up not having a good time#but this was a lot of money and i’ve heard it picks up#when tho#also the fact that i rly like wyll and he’s got like. nothing. id heard he has less content than other origins but#didn’t realize it was to a noticeable extent#maybe it’ll pick up and give him more to talk about once i save his dad. please god

like. yes. humans are terrible a lot of the time. but holy shit it's so fucking insane that we even exist in the first place, let alone that we've built everything that we've built, let alone that we still have access to as much history as we do, and if i think too hard about stories i feel A Lot because it goes back and back and back and throughout everything that we've been through as a species, stories have always held us together, stories and dreams and poems and it fucks me up sometimes because when i'm studying poetry it's easy to think 'ugh this is so dull' but then you read one tiny line and then you're punched in the gut and you remember that this was written by a person, a person who was alive, once, and that in your hands your hold a tiny little piece of their heart and their hopes and their dreams, and it's sort of necromancy, isn't it, to read what they wrote and feel what they felt, and we're human and we've always been human, and if we've always had stories and words and poetry then they're us, really, and we're them, and i don't understand people who find literature boring because it's just it's the sum of everything that the author's ever known, every experience they've had, every other book they've read which has been the sum of everything another's ever known and there's not really a point to this but we are indistinguishable from our stories, we are our stories and our wars and our love and and and and

You guys are going to have to deal with me a little because I'm kind of drunk and have SO many feelings after the last Quackity vs Luzu stream.
After watching both povs it nagged me that Quackity seemed super suspicious of everyone (Sapo Peta, Luzu, and Rubius) when talking to them, but Luzu was his old cheerful self.
And after thinking about it, it makes so much sense.
At the beginning of K5 Luzu was already grieving the loss of the memories of his loved ones, even if he didn't realize it. Lana, Auron, Manolo. The ones he loved were lost forever, and while he didn't remember the rest of the heroes, he still knows he can't trust them ("Don't trust anyone around Karmaland" He says at the beginning of the series AND after meeting Quackity again after their memories are erased).
But he keeps it to himself. He hangs around with Alexby, Fargan, Willy, people that he has this hunch are poisonous to him but still acts friendly with them.
So even if he hated Quackity, he just has his hunch now. So Luzu will act friendly towards him until given a reason not to.
However he had deeper feelings for him than anyone else. Anyone else but Auron back in K4. Either romantic, platonic, or hateful, his feelings towards them both are pretty much the same
Luzu has been thinking about Auron since the beginning. Talking to Vegetta about how he was betrayed before and telling Quackity almost the exact things Auron used to tell him.
So my favorite headcannon right now is that Luzu is going to think they are the same person. The man that has been plagging his dreams but can't quite remember, and this guy that appeared out of nowhere and makes him feel confused.
To Luzu they can easily be the same. The problem is that Auron and Luzu worked through their problems together.
And Quackity just wants him dead.
