what’s a specific thing that really bothered you in tlou 2 ?
oh boy i could write a whole essay about all the things that bothered me but i'll try to keep it short
spoilers for the game ahead so if you don't wanna know now is the time to stop reading.

i think the most obvious one would be joel's death but when it comes down to it, there are so many things that are even worse (can you imagine?) it wouldn't even make the top five. what really gets me is the fact that the writing is just. bad.
and not only bad but it completely negates EVERYTHING part 1 was about, everything that you learned about the characters and why you grew to love them, everything the game explored regarding morality and human nature, and what you're willing to do for the people you love.
it's so damn inconsistent with who is allowed to do what, who gets punished for which wrongdoings and who doesn't, who is allowed to walk away and live and who isn't. neil destroyed the joel and ellie they built in part 2 just to get off on abby's story and i mean that quite literally.
there is exactly one sex and nudity scene in the whole game and you can make one guess who it involves and who you see tits-out. i'll wait for an explanation that actually makes sense that isn't "it's neil's fantasy", cause that's exactly what it is.
This isn't even new for him. Gabriel did basically this same exact thing in Collector three seasons ago, faked a breakdown in his office and made Adrien believe it was all his fault. This is so consistent with Gabriel's methods of abuse/manipulation, and I already knew Gabriel did this shit, but seeing it again like this and with the dialogue really drives home how absolutely despicable and purposeful this all is.
Gabriel isn't just talking about the friends pushing food on him. He could've chose to say "why don't children respect me!" or "this suit cost so much!" or "i was so embarrassed in front of all the other parents!", but he didn't. He chose instead to talk about Adrien's conversation with him in the kitchen that morning, the one where Adrien very reasonably mentioned that he was uncomfortable being a virtual personal assistant. Adrien didn't even push it. He just mentioned that he was uncomfortable and then kind of moved on from it.... and this is what Gabriel saw as a fitting punishment for Adrien asking a question. To fill Adrien with such intense guilt and shame while shouting things like "Maybe I wasn't meant to be a father!"
Like, this is traumatizing, right? Adrien is witnessing this, and Gabriel knows that Adrien is witnessing it, in fact, Gabriel is only doing it because Adrien is witnessing it. Literally no excuse. This is just pure 100% emotional abuse, flat out, with zero way to sugarcoat it.
if you are genuinely out there claiming that gale "succeeded" in everything he "wanted" by becoming a god and that's why it's a good ending for him, you truly are a testament to the slow and steady death of media literacy congrats lmao
i think what i'm most excited about with the live action series is how different it's gonna be.
like, obviously, it's live action, so there's limits on what they can do in terms of the crazier stunts, places, and people. the actors will have their own mannerisms and quirks they'll add to the characters that will make them distinct. it looks like it's gonna be a bit more grounded and less cartoon-y. but most of all, it's just so so so much shorter.
season one looks like it's gonna cover all the way up to loguetown, which was original a little over 100 chapters and 50 episodes, in about ten episodes. that's a lot to cover, and while they're gonna have to cut a lot of stuff, i'm so curious how they'll condense and change the story.
(it makes me wonder, with oda working with them, if it'll resemble oda's original plan for the story, which was gonna be much shorter than it ended up being. though, we won't know that unless oda says something).
it's just going to be so different than the original one piece, and that makes me really excited, cuz it'll kind of be like watching one piece for the first time again.
needless to say, i'll be ready to burst into tears
Got an anonymous request for Lee's reaction in a hypothetical where the MC could tell Lee that they were crushing on the "mystery boy" (Baxter) from Soiree, so of course I was 👀👀👀
I'm 99% sure they were expecting an idle mention rather than a full thing but I couldn't control myself so--
