Alright I told someone I would give propaganda for these two so here we go. As a warning, I didn't play mobile or Re-Mind soooooooo. Yeah there's that. I know they're apparently involved in past stuff but shhh.
So first off, everyone's weapon is super useful! Except theirs. Which I always thought was really funny? Even in Re:CoM Zexion's book was more direct than these two. I really enjoyed them just as the most indirect fighters? And figured they'd be pretty chill and after playing KH2 as a kid I'm like. I think Luxord would be most tolerable to music while vibing. He could play Solitaire or something while Demyx played music and possibly chatted. Therefore, my younger self was like "it's perfect".
Tumblr media
ALSO CONSIDERING THEIR NUMBERS! And the line in KH3 during the scene where Demyx is like "yup I got benched", they've probably got a history. However, the number they get originally is supposed to be the order they joined. So with Marluxia and Larxene obviously tied together in the past, all I can think of is these two just being absolute bums wandering around pre-Organization and just hitch hiking their way into a cult. Which is also REALLY funny to me because what if they joined at the same time but Demyx got to be IX and Luxord is X.
Demyx would hold his rank over his head for the dumbest stuff (in my head canons of the past).
Like there's so many things we specifically do not know about these two so basically, until I'm proven absolutely incorrect in game (which might have happened and I just don't know) ! I think they'd be a good match.
And I mean, it's also just (gestures) LOOK AT HOW CUTE THEY ARE. Great designs and I think that's good enough for me!

we were gods, we were kids
[ID: two digital drawings of Riku, Sora, and Kairi in their kingdom hearts 2 outfits. the background is shades of blue, lighter at the top. they appear as if floating in a body of water.
In the first image, Riku, on the left, stares down with a slightly worried expression, his visible hand on sora's shoulder, and the other on Kairi's. Kairi, on the right, leans into Sora's back, with either hand on his core. Sora, sandwiched between the two, has his hand on Riku's cheek, and the other on top of Kairi's on his stomach. he leans forward to kiss Riku's cheek.
The second image is a close-up. /End ID.]

Y'all heard that song "one of your girls" by Troye Sivan its Pining TimKon coded. Cuz like:
"Give me a call if you ever get lonely I'll be like one of your girls or your homies Say what you want, and I'll keep it a secret You got the key to my heart, and I need it Give me a call if you ever get desperate I'll be like one of your girls"

okayokayokay... hear me out. Barbie Fairytopia AU where everything is the same, except the necklace the Enchantress gave Elina didn't give her wings, she instead got the power of Magic Footsteps.
[ID: a digital art sketch of the characters Dandelion and Elina from Barbie Fairytopia running/flying through a field of flowers. Dandelion is a slender fairy with long pigtails, a skirt made of dandelion fluff and petals, and pixie wings fluttering behind her, orange and white sparkles trailing behind her as she flies excitedly by Elina. Elina is a taller, likewise slender fairy but, diverging from canon, she doesn't have wings and is instead running on glittering, magical, platforms that appear wherever she steps, while Dandelion flies beside her. She's wearing a dress with a layered, rose-petal skirt, with a sleeveless top with two petal-like decorations that trail off her shoulders. Her hair is in a low bun. The two are looking at each other and smiling. /END ID]

The Fernweh Saga by @lacunafiction - Davor edition
Tumblr media
I-I think Ms. Verner doesn't like him...😳
Tumblr media
Davor "Dove" Kovač 🐝 RO: Becca Warrick
Personality: cautious // aloof // pessimistic // flirtatious (only towards Becca ...and Reese??) Traits: head // independent // resistance // believer Past affinity: math Primary ability: extrasensory awareness Past susceptibility: forward. 'it’s better to push forward. don’t look back on the past when you have new places to be and things to achieve.' <<< his motto
Tumblr media
🕊️ Fernweh: Davor lived a happy life there and didn't think about leaving in the future. Maybe for some trips, but he knew it would always be his place, his safe place... 'It was a mistake to come back here.' - that was his first thought when he tried to fall asleep on the first night in Fernweh. The nightmares came back as he thought they would. He wants to leave as soon as possible because he feels that it is not safe for Becca to be here.
🕊️ Gramps Dan: That was his gramps who taught Davor how to play the guitar. As a young child, Davor always admired him and believed he was the most intelligent person in the world. After the death of his parents and how his grandfather treated him, he was devastated and angry. He wanted answers soo badly but didn't get any. He lived loathing his grandfather ever since. The news of his passing stirred up a lot of negative emotions that Davor had previously managed to suppress. At the beginning of the story he couldn't care less about his grandfather, but because of his journal he started to believe him. Things that his granfather lived through made Davor even more angry at this messy town …but he's willing to forgive his gramps…
🐝 Becca Warrick: It was a ...funny story that brought both of them together and they look after each other ever since. He considers Becca as his precious (not in a negative-possessive way) treasure, he literally can't let anything bad happen to her. That was also she who came up with the nickname 'Dove'... (and she's literally the only person who calls him that, others wouldn't dare...). He had feelings for her for quite some time but didn't act on it... until now. Although he didn't express it, he felt very nervous about Becca being in the town where he grew up. He was curious (but also scared) about what she could think of this town. He felt like he was revealing more of himself to her…. and he forgot about any worries pretty fast, because the town started being weird as fu--.
🕊️ Reese Verner: Back then Davor was quite cheerful and enjoyed competing with Reese regularly. They teased each other a lot. Davor always thought that Reese had a crush on him, was it true tho? donut know, but he certainly had. ...why does he appear in his nightmares? Maybe the crush stage never disappeared...? Seeing him again was a nice experience, sure... but ignoring the circumstances, he is still unsure if it was worth it and is struggling with his thoughts… Would it be worth it to return to Fernweh just to see him... again? welp, good thing he doesn't have to think about it much, am I right?
🕊️ Sofia Dorran: The two of them maybe did not have a strong relationship, but he knew Sofia is the ideal person for engaging in intelligent conversations. He enjoyed spending time with her, solving the puzzles that gramps created for them both. Davor wasn't a fan of fantasy books, but she managed to change his mind about them. Davor knows that Sofia did take good care of his grandfather, but he still doesn't quite know if he's grateful for that or wished she spent her time more... valuably... He was tempted to ask Sofia to borrow that book she found in his grandfather's bedroom, but he thought better of it. It's better to leave Fernweh… Even so, his curiosity wasn't properly fed.
🕊️ James Corvin: Maybe not brothers by blood, but definitely brothers by choice. Davor treated him as if he was the brother he always wanted to have. Back then Davor always placed a high value on his family… until now. At the time, Davor tended to be more impulsive and James was usually the one who kept him from getting into trouble (which often involved Reese). It was really hard, for both of them, to see each other after so long. Their first interaction was pretty awkward... I would even say that most of their interactions were . James noticed how Davor changed the question is: for the better or worse? I don't even know. Everyone can sense, that things around them are different now, and they aren't as close as before. Will it change?
🕊️ Alek Corvin: …To say that Alek wasn't a fan of Davor would be an understatement. Was it because James spent most of his time focusing only on Davor trying to get him out of trouble? Did Alek observe any possessiveness from Davor towards James? Or maybe simply because of the bond between those two, which was truly something that others would envy and desire? Davor never considered it, especially when he left Fernweh permanently. :)) As you can imagine, Alek doesn't seem very happy about Davor's return… But he took an interest in his new friend, Becca, which did not go unnoticed by Davor and he isn't really happy about it.
🕊️ The Waitress: Oh boy, it seems that Davor has taken up a new hobby, which is glaring harshly at the waitress. He finds her mistrustful and he smells trouble. Had they met when he was younger, there may have been a slim chance of them getting along.
🕊️ Waffles!: So um… Davor has a little issue with dogs and because of that his relationship with Waffles isn't as wonderful as I wish it would be... However, I believe that with time and help from Becca, they will eventually become friends.
#actually about his scar i have this whole headcanon... featuring some...umm.. doggos and Becca... 👀 especially how they met#(Davor was always team cats but after that incident even more xD)#also ouch that naming scene it hurt me so much! but i get it ;; aaaa! Davor why are you being so problematic Waffles is wonderful!!!#it was really interesting for me to messing with Davor in nightmares and showing him Reese!! the feelings the emotions aaaa#also yeeaah Davor thought several times if it would be a good idea to come back to Re-- *cough* Fernweh... and then Becca happened...#generally speaking Davor has a keen interest in Slavic mythologies and culture particularly those from western and southern regions of-#-Europe. I imagine that his father has roots in these regions and he took great pride in his heritage. Often taking about it to Davor#...and since Sofia's a smart girl she lent Davor a fantasy book written by Slavic author who took a great inspiration from Slavic myths👼😊#yes it was enough to change Davor's mind about fantasy books XD he never really read one before he just assumed it's BORING!#and now I'm sure he will throw questions at Sofia about this book she found even more since he's staying at Fernweh... I can imagine how-#-they both are staying up late studying it and comparing their notes... it would remind Davor about the time they were kids-#-it seems that his Gramps gave them both the last puzzle to solve... will they succeed?#and ooohh that will be a hard time for James and Davor... that rejection at the end of book one wont help them im sure XD#about Davor's 'possesivenes' over James... Davor was needy that's true but he would never think about 'stealing' James from Alek or-#-'claiming' James belongs to him. I hope im not crossing a line here but in my headcanon Alek was TOTALLY jealous over their friendship#and Alek THOUGHT that Davor was receiving more attention from James 👀#//which obv isn't true because James would never allow it. Alek is always a number one in James' heart//#in mine too I love A!!!! 💖 they're a BABY#but i must say that Davor didn't really think about Alek's feelings back then. he wasn't aware how Alek could feel- that's not an excuse#super curious about book two and how his relationships with every single one of them will develop!!!#fernweh saga#oc: davor kovac#no i totally did NOT change his surname..

i dw to write meta (lazy) so i'm just gonna yell at you and hope you write it for me
i cannot stop thinking about 'mercy never defeated an enemy, master'. what a stupid, narrow thing to say, a petty little brat snipe from a child. i understand why obi-wan doesn't correct him - he is already trying to teach him One lesson and not really succeeding, Two lessons would probably send anakin into a rampage. but man, oh man, it's eating my brain right now
mercy is about power, right. the christian ideal of the powerless forgiving the opressor is the one i learned from cultural osmosis first - but actually, mercy matters most, i think, materially, when it's the powerful showing mercy to the defeated, or to those they could destroy but don't have to. mercy is a jedi thing, it's SO jedi, it's basically a jedi's first instinct when it comes to conflict, like 'let's not do this, friend, i can probably hurt you so much and i don't want to'. jedis will bring the hurt, but only when absolutely necessary. pain and suffering are things they don't want to carry into the world, or inflict on others. it's not an easy thing, mercy, it means you must empathise with an opponent, recognise that they are a being and that the harm they have done is a separate thing from them, or it can be. that choices are made every moment and that your own choices control the future of others as well. and that the best thing is not to act from revenge, or even justice, but harm reduction and generousity. jedi choose to do that, they choose to be connected to the entire galaxy via the force, it's the whole thing about emotions and attachments, you gotta let go, you gotta love the whole thing even the worst parts, because the worst parts are also important, and if they are people then they can change.
it doesn't make the jedi marks, or naive. they'll execute those to whom it would endanger others to show mercy to, when it seems necessary. palpatine would never have received mercy unless he was utterly defeated and stripped of all power to harm others - but even then, i don't know. is cutting out someone's tongue to keep them alive more merciful than just killing them? but anyway, if shown an ounce of mercy then palpatine would inflict a tonne of pain. there are those whose capacity for change is so far gone, and whose spite is so strong, that mercy would not defeat them.
but you know who mercy would defeat? anakin fucking skywalker. if he showed an ounce of mercy to himself then he would not have Fallen. Luke defeats him with mercy - and then anakin defeats palpatine by murder. if anakin showed mercy to himself in training, he'd be able to deal with obi-wan not showering him with the praise he's starving for. it's mixed with the pride and validation and maturity thing.
but also. mustafar. obi-wan did not show mercy to anakin when he was burning to death. anakin's capacity for change - was it gone? not forever, but it was very far away and damaged further by the suffering he experienced from being burned. obi-wan did not feel merciful on mustafar. and he failed to defeat his enemy.
jfc i hadnt really processed the exquisite, majestic irony of that line coming from anakin, the fact that mercy would have killed him on mustafar, and did end up killing him on death star ii. he is uniquely vulnerable to mercy, bc his capacity for mercy is what he destroyed in his fall to the dark. it's almost like mercy is his narrative achilles heel. he is vulnerable to vulnerability, weak to feeling weak, so of course he burned that weakness from his life, and he is punished for that hubris by dying in the way he sought to avoid.
the discussion of mercy always reminds me of the theory of finite and infinite games, games played to win and games played to keep playing. civilization (and the living Force) is an infinite game, while an individual's life is full of finite games. essentially by being merciless, anakin thinks he wins a particular battle, and that is what it means to defeat an enemy. obi-wan has a broader perspective, less attachment to personal outcomes, and so usually is able to exercise mercy when it’s the best way for everyone to keep playing the infinite game of civilization. mercy would have killed vader, because it was best both for him, and civilization at large.
anakin just doesn't realize that his limited kind of totally winning a particular fight comes at the cost of actually losing the infinite game. he doesn't see that being ruthless is actually a sign of weakness. showing mercy is, as you say, about power, because it's a sign of being willing to not have complete and final victory in a finite context in a way that is actually an ultimate victory. it’s about keeping that higher perspective of what winning really looks like, a form of victory that includes the best outcome for the defeated party as part of the calculus (and as you say, that outcome may not be a reward or reprieve for an individual who stubbornly presents a threat to the infinite game).
like, the sith showed no mercy to the jedi, but the jedi win in the end in every way that matters. they are strong in their willingness to take an individual loss, bc even losing a tremendous defeat in a finite context, their philosophy returns to the galaxy after sidious and the sith is destroyed. this is bc hope and love survive in all conditions, like the green growing in the cracks in the concrete. you cannot defeat the will to life. people are good, this philosophy argues, and generosity over greed is how we survive as a civilization. a sith can only win finite games, but will always lose the game of building a civilization and making it thrive, carrying life into the next generation. they are a cult of death and violence, and not to quote jurassic park, but life finds a way lol
anakin not understanding this, having a myopic, selfish, greedy orientation to life and to love, is what held him apart from the jedi, and turned him to evil. i suppose releasing that greed, feeling mercy for his son, may have led to his death, but it is also his victory in the end. he's able to join obi-wan and yoda in the force bc he was able to see beyond himself and gift civilization the chance to thrive in saving his son. that selflessness is actually the sign of both a good jedi and a good parent—giving everything to protect and encourage your vulnerable charge, until/unless they're ready to step out on their own. feeling mercy for their weakness, is what will give them strength in the end and give strength to civilization as a whole.
