How “A Tale of Two Sisters” (Tangled the Series) and “Promise” (She-Ra) are literally the same episode
¡¡¡SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
I literally made this post on Twitter but it got no traction and I was looking to get a discussion going but I will just repeat what I said there and paste it here because I can’t get over this
Angry Lesbians = Cassandra & Catra
Team Blondie = Adora & Rapunzel
Parallel #1: Close Proximity
It’s funny how the premise of both episodes is that the sworn rivals (lovers) are put in a position in which they are stuck and cannot find an exit. In TTS, Cassunzel is stuck in a cave with poisonous gas and Catradora is trapped in that weird chamber thingy with the First Ones tech.
Parallel #2: Dangerous Setting
Additionally not only are they trapped together, but they are trapped specifically in a dangerous environment that is hostile impartially to both parties which leads onto my next point...
Parallel #3: Enemy x Enemy Teamwork
Literally the designated Angry Lesbians (Catra & Cass) hate their counterparts' guts. They literally wanna kill them,
In fact, the reason why in both of these cases they ended up in that very same dangerous setting was because the designated angry lesbians decided to attack Team Blondie (Adora & Rapunzel) and got them stuck there IN THE FIRST PLACE !!!! ARGGHH !!
And now since they're stuck in a hostile environment that is way too distracting to kill Team Blondie -& that also threatens their lives as well- they're forced to put a pin on that whole "i need to kill my wife" plan so that they themselves don't die, which forces them to ✨work together✨
Parallel #4: Facing the Past Pt. 1
This teamwork leads both parties to reminisce about their ex friendship. It’s actually funny to notice that these two share the same trope (aka friends to enemies to lovers [ok I know Cassunzel isn’t canon but the lesbians ship them idc]) AND since these two both have a past of being friends earlier in life they both get back into that groove that they easily slip back into while they’re trying to survive.
ie. Rapunzel and Cass reminiscing the memories they made during the trip to the dark kingdom & Catra and Adora just goofing around during that chamber after a while
Parallel #5 villain/hero enemies to lovers dynamic
This kinda goes hand in hand with Parallel #4
The designated Angry Lesbians (who are also the show’s labeled villains) are in constant turmoil about the way they feel about Team Blondie and its fucking hilarious because they’re so down bad for Team Blondie & you get these moments where they’re softening slowly throughout the episode // meanwhile Team Blondie (the show’s designated heroes) are just trying the whole time to get through their girlfriends and realize that they’re on the wrong side
AND THIS RESULTS IN A LOT OF GAY RIVAL TENSION MOMENTS !!!!
Parallel #6: Facing the past Pt. 2 + Resentment
This one is super important because it really brings perspective to the rivalry and the motives behind why Cassandra and Catra are doing what they are doing and brings a depth and complexity to both Cassunzel and Catradora.
Facing the past also includes looking back into childhood memories and learning about a specific mother figure and the way this mother figure shaped the entire view in which they see themselves- whether it’s conscious or unconscious.
For Catra and Adora, it meant exploring Catra’s relationship with Shadow Weaver and how that influenced her own self worth during childhood and how she was always outshined by Adora, who was able to gain Shadow Weaver’s affections with ease thanks to her specialness as she’s a First One’s decendant.
For Cassandra and Rapunzel, it meant realizing that Gothel was a selfish person who never really loved either of them, and that Gothel only chose Rapunzel (and consequently, abandon Cassandra) for her magic hair. That is until Cassandra finds the broken mirror that shows Gothels apparent “love” for Cass.
Parallel #7: the mother figures that traumatized our angry lesbians
This also kinda goes hand in hand with parallel #5 because these two women are the very root of why our angry lesbians are traumatized and on the ‘evil side’ of the story.
These women created all the insecurities that our angry lesbians cling onto & project onto Team Blondie by making them feel as if they were not enough or loved & made them feel inferior to their counterparts
In Catra’s case, it was shadow weaver
For Cassandra, it was Gothel
It was both of these women who actively made the decision to choose Adora/Rapunzel due to being “special” & treated Cass/Catra like shit
Parallel #8: The end + presumed death
this one makes me SCREAM
At the end of both episodes SOMETHING -and by something I mean a childhood memory is triggered- that makes the angry lesbians lash out and any hope that they return to the good side just vanishes.
Also they both leave Team Blondie out to die and walk away thinking they killed them.
But ofc team blondie never dies.
I kept obsessing over this and thank god for tumblr for having unlimited character count because I could’ve not made my point thoroughly on twitter

friend, you know what i notice is she-ra's fandom ? I notice that they always say that " dni if you ship character x character, they are siblings/brothers/sisters " or " ew, those characters are family, you can't ship them " or other comment but they did realize that they ship sisters ( c*tradora ) ?? literally they are the most hypocrites saying that, they don't realize that they are the weirdos who ships two sisters. " but they are not blood related - " adopted sisters and step sisters exist there is no need to be blood related that someone you love very much you consider it as sisters for example Cassandra and Rapunzel they are not sisters but Rapunzel consider Cass as her big sister. I don't understand how in 2024 she-ra fandom still likes c*tradora and don't realize that the ship is incest and worst cartoon for kids ( i mean, how are they going to make a cartoon for kids where to sisters fall in love and have a toxic relationship where actually the power of abuse/gaslight/ torture is the answer ?? that's so disgusting )
Thanks for the ask! The main thing people say to defend it is that they do not know what family is when they do. Adora literally says Shadow Weaver taught them mom stuff. Another one I heard that they are not blood related which is just disrespectful to real adoptive siblings. They are just as related as any other siblings. Another is that they are just childhood friends. Childhood friends do not have the same parental figure or the same living conditions. They were also confirmed to be in the original source material. What do you expect us to believe?!

I don't know if you remember, but a long time ago, when I was just airing the show Tangled, there was a blog here on Tumblr, it was pretty new and had almost no followers, but she claimed to be the sister of a worker on the show. From the writers section.
I remember very well that person saying that the character of Varian had been created to attract the attention of young teenagers. But in early drafts of his personality, they wanted to add that Varian had a crush on Rapunzel, but that would make his relationship with Eugene awkward, and they didn't want to give him SO much screen time that the audience wouldn't feel too attached to him just when Varian becomes a villain.
I think she said something like, "My sister says they didn't want the audience to see Varian pining for Rapunzel, but half a season later he'd be huffing and puffing at her... They didn't want to make a drama of this, you know? They have already "that" arc for that.
I also remember that she said the first and only idea discarded, they wanted to show us that, when Varian revealed his feelings for Rapunzel, she would reject him. But seeing that she hurt his feelings, she would try to cheer him up, but everyone would stop her, since Varian wanted to be alone. That would teach Rapunzel that she can't be everyone's savior.
Which would allow Rapunzel to empathize with Cassandra and understand that she wants to "fix Cass", but Rapunzel would understand that "fixing her" is not her problem... Cassandra chose "her own destiny", Rapunzel had nothing to do with her decision because Cass is an adult now.
I remember that this information had a great impact on me... So much so, that I thought they would pick up the idea at some point in the series... But she said that, if Varian had been deeply in love with Rapunzel, then it would have made her relationship with Eugene awkward on screen, but she also said that the idea of the two "being competing for the Princess's affections" as comic relief was being considered, but we all know that Rapunzel and Eugene get married at the end of the film.
There was a little update where she said she'd like them to include a musical number in prison, singing quite sad and melancholy, saying he'd give anything for a second chance to make things right.
In that regard, I drew a picture of Varian singing the song from Alexander Rybak's Abandoned.
About a week passed and she closed her account. It's not that hard to believe that this is all false, but if for a second we believe it's true, then it gives us a pretty interesting AU...
In which Varian is in love with Rapunzel and is forced to bury his feelings for the sake of his revenge, even though deep down it hurts him to fight her...
That would also explain the level of hatred he came to have for Rapunzel because of the girl he loves, his father is trapped, maybe forever.
If that's the case, then Varian would feel extremely guilty, and that would explain why Varian despite everything, he regretted everything he did to Rapunzel and planned to erase their memories just so they could both be friends again.
I think it's quite an interesting idea...

Emotional...how? Rapunzel's completely fine, she's not overly emotional or even emotional at all. The only emotion she's feeling is happiness that Eugene's okay. I feel like this was supposed to be implying that Rapunzel nearly killing Cass is some big emotional moment for her but they just...failed. They failed so hard.
Also way to care about your "sister", Eugene.

I know you've said you're prioritising the Sisters AU so I know they aren't coming out soon, but I always enjoy hearing what you're up to!
I also wanted to know if you are still working on the one where Captain raised Eugene and Lance?
Sure!
Apologies for taking so long, I was determined to find my last WIP post so as to not re-list everything but... didn't find it so we're going in with a new list! XD
But first, the fic with Captain raising Eugene and Lance is tilted 'A Chance to Raise Them', I'll throw it first onto the list and yes, it is still in the making, it's my go to for writing when I feel under the weather, last chapter I wrote Cass had a new sworn enemy, Eugene got waaay too many sprinkles on his hot chocolate and Arianna started a tickle fight that Cass lost! :D
Onto the list (in no particular order):
Chance to Raise Them
Two girls are recovered from a tower. Arianna and Frederic get their daughter back only three years after her kidnapping but she comes with a seven-year-old big sister.
A few years later Cassandra takes down a couple of thieves going by Flynn and Lance. At first Captain keeps them close in hope of teaching them a lesson, but when they thank him for the structure and security he supplies, he doesn't have it in him to send them back to the orphanage.
A Badly Aimed Arrow (Title Pending Change)
Eugene and Cassandra head into town to buy Rapunzel some paints, bickering as they do. Then suddenly Cassandra shoves Eugene to the ground, at first he thinks she's taking the bickering to a new level, until he sees the blood.
Mirror, Mirror, What You Took From Me
Cassandra was heading to the dining hall of the House of Yesterday's Tomorrow to get a snack when arms reached out of the mirror and tried to snatch her, she thinks fast and smashes the glass.
She knew this place was a terrible idea! Thankfully she handled the danger. That is... Until they realise Eugene was the first taken by the mirror and he now has no way out.
The Backup (Title possibly Pending Change)
Gothel always knew it was only a matter of time until she misstepped and lost. Because of that she had a child, a child of her blood and flesh whom she enchanted so that if ever Gothel did die, she had a way back into the world of the living.
An alternate S3 with Cass fighting for control over her own body and the gang fighting to get their friend back.
Market Day
The guards were searching for an old lady. They'd of never picked Gothel out of a crowd. But you know who would?
"Mama!" Cassandra pointed and reached out for the curly haired woman during a visit to the market.
Anagapesis
Anagapesis
Falling out of love; the feeling of not loving someone or something once loved.
Stalyan was beautiful and smart, and everything Eugene thought he desired.
So why was writing some simple wedding vows such an impossible task?
Two Thief Sisters (Title Pending Change)
Cassandra is kidnapped from the cottage cause it’s a nice cottage, she’s a cute child. There’s money to be earned via ransom.
Gothel never shows up, though.
Thankfully for Cassandra, Stalyan finds this super-obedient little kid fun to keep around.
Father Tromus (Title Pending Change)
Gothel fails at kidnapping Rapunzel and dies, Tromus swoops in to take Cassandra and raise her. Teacher her magic and raises her to one day seek out vengeance for her Mother.
Partners in Crime
Neither Eugene nor Rapunzel ever realise she's the lost princess, so after Gothel's death they flee Corona to be partners in crime together. Captain loses his job after Flynn Rider's prison escape, leading Cassandra to want vengeance on her dad's behalf.
She didn't expect to find her thief alongside the missing princess.
Islands Together
Owl never went to get Rapunzel and Rapunzel never talked any sense into Captain.
Captain came home with a little four-year-old Cassandra and people in Corona just kinda let it happen, not knowing what else to do. All seems fine until Cassandra finds out.
Royalty Can't Date a Thief
Frederic doesn’t allow Rapunzel and Eugene to date because royalty can’t date an ex-thief. So Eugene gets a job as her bodyguard and they date in secret.
Queen for an Eternity
What if Arianna and Frederic didn’t make it back after the blizzard?
Rapunzel is the new queen of Corona but far to occupied mourning to do her job.
Parcial Pardon
Frederic and Eugene reach an agreement, he isn’t given a full pardon but he is given a chance to make up for his crimes.
Strongbow Along for the Ride
What if Lance never went to prison and never separated from Eugene and was there during Tangled?
Queen of Amber
Arianna became encased in the amber and Frederic tries to kill Varian.
Cass Dies in the Great Tree (Pending Title Change)
Kinda self-explanatory.
The Hostage Situation
Instead of knock Cassandra out, Hector takers her hostage to force the gang to leave his home. Eugene tries to sneak back in while the rest of the gang leaves, he fails pretty miserably.
Thankfully Hector and Cassandra are able to bond over duty and foolish royals who don't listen to your warnings.
Mother Knows Best
Magic is heavily prosecuted in Corona.
Gothel really did rescue Rapunzel.
Eugene only realises the danger his put Rapunzel in by taking her from the tower after he falls in love.
Amber Alchemist
Quirin isn't there to save Varian from his experiments. But he is around to seek out justice for his son. (Quirin Villain arc!)
Mother Zhan Tiri
Zhan Tiri reached Cassandra through dreams slowly convincing her that Gothel is an unfit mother and will eventually hurt Rapunzel. Convincing Cassandra to escape with her sister and head to the dark kingdom where she will find the moonstone.
Gothel the Guardian of the Sundrop
Before the Sundrop can be turned to tea a woman shows up claiming she can heal the queen and princess if just allowed a moment alone.
She succeeds.
Frederic is forever grateful and gives the woman a position as Corona's healer, a home in the palace garden where she can heal and raise her daughter Cassandra.
Arianna does not much like Gothel, but her husbands is too grateful to see some of that behaviours. Besides, Gothel is the only healer Corona has.
That is until the thief Flynn Rider while hiding from the guards discovers an incantation in some underground tunnels and decides he wants in on the scam.

I think that's most of it! Also there's a few prequels for the Tangled Sisters AU. Obviously anything already publishing.
And I did leave a few projects that are either very unlikely to be finished or I just don't know how to describe!
Oh, and Our Undying Dream with @the-writer1988 that is also a WIP...
Yeah, I've definitely forgotten some stuff xD
But those are a good few o f them!

(From prev ask) Some I've seen floating around at particular times this and last year:
Eugene + Rapunzel watching over Varian as guardian figures
Rapunzel watching over Varian as an older sister figure
Eugene watching over Varian as an older brother figure
Cass and Lance as as aunt/uncle to Varian or new dream kids
Wowww I'm just now realizing most of these revolve around Varian. Sorry if that's kind of annoying...
Yeah, I'm not at all keen on Rapunzel and/or Eugene replacing Quirin as Varian's guardian. Older sibling-type relationships, I'm basically fine with (provided it's not used in place of his relationship with his dad), but Varian has a perfectly good dad who he had an entire character arc around saving. I know some people don't like Quirin because the only real personality we get from him is as Varian's conflict in S1, but it's obvious that their relationship is mended in S3.
Since I'm not particularly fond of Rapunzel's and Cassandra's friendship, and since I'm all for Cassandra leaving Corona and only coming back to visit, and even then, only rarely, I don't see her as being around enough to act as an aunt to Rapunzel and Eugene's kids. Lance, on the other hand, is not only a fun uncle, he's a fun dad. He'd spirit the kids away from the castle and let them go play in the woods with a real, live werewolf (who was also basically their cousin) while Rapunzel and Eugene were too busy with royal duties.

Raps: "All I'm trying to do is help-"
Hector: "The only person you've been helping is yourself! You can't seriously expect me to trust you after ALL the shit you've stirred up!"
Raps: "What have I ever done to you?!"
Hector: (stands up sharply, knocking his chair over) "YOU DESTROYED MY CHILDHOOD HOME! You invaded the ruins of my kingdom and desecrated the resting place of the Moonstone! You and your 'bodyguard-in-waiting' both tried to kill me and failed!"
Raps: "Cass was doing her job and protecting me, just like you were doing your job by protecting the Moonstone. I had to get to the stone one way or another; I have the power of the Sundrop. I'm the only one who can neutralize it and save the world."
Hector: "You keep saying that, but I haven't actually seen you do either of the things the Sundrop is fabled to do. I have seen people enchant their hair. I have seen scumbags pull off elaborate scams for money, or royal favors, or to trick innocent people into getting enslaved by a cult!"
Adira: "Hector, please stop yelling."
Hector: (slams palms on the table and lowers his head to sneer in Raps's face) "I am not naive like my sister. I knew someone would take her for a ride one of these days and try to get their grubby little hands on the Moonstone. You're not the first person to get ahold of the Decay Incantation; you're just the first one to not destroy yourself with it. I don't know who or what you are, but I don't fuck with that kinda' nonsense."
It took every ounce of Cassandra's self-control not to show outward approval of Hector's arguments, and she hated herself for it. It was both satisfying and confusing to hear all of her suspicions about Adira being applied to Rapunzel, but she couldn't fault the man's logic. It was exactly what she'd been telling her friends since they left Corona.
She watched Rapunzel blink owlishly up at the large man, curious to see how she'd try to avoid accountability for her actions.
"I...I'm sorry, about what happened to the tree," she finally said in a meek, unsure voice. "I didn't mean to destroy it. I just wanted to save Eugene." Hector gave a harsh scoff and pushed himself up off the table.
"And it didn't occur to you that by killing the tree, you'd also be jeopardizing all your friends it was holding onto?" he demanded.
"Weren't you possessed by the tree's heart or something too?" Cassandra inquired as noncommitally as she could, raising an eyebrow.
"Oh like she's gonna care about how much danger she put me in," Hector snapped sarcastically, eyes briefly flicking over to glare at her.

Have yall noticed how many people hate on cassunzel? Like what is that even about? I know some people like to see them as sisters or besties and I know everyone likes to point out that Rapunzel marries Eugene which are all valid. But people are still gonna ship cassunzel. And I think it's pretty obvious why people ship it. It's not exactly a crack ship. We can't deny that they've had their fair share of shipy moments right. Just think about all the parallels Cass has with Eugene. Plus the sun and moon dynamic. I have no problem with anyone who doesn't ship it and prefers to view them as platonic, which is what canon abides by at the end of the day. And I'm not here to try to convince anyone to ship something they don't want to. I don't even mind if people make their own posts about how they feel about the ship. I've also had my share of ships I couldn't quite get behind so I understand. But it is a bit disheartening when people hate on the ship/shippers on posts, fanart, edits etc. that are specifically dedicated to cassunzel. That's like me going onto a post about (insert NOTP) and saying how awful it is. I think it's okay if you make your own post about why or how much you don't like a particular ship. I even think it's okay to say something along the lines of "I don't ship it and personally prefer Rapunzel and Eugene, but nice art." on a cassunzel post. But to blatantly say "No! This is horrible. They're best friends/ sisters. Rapunzel is married. It's gross." Is kinda uncalled for.

Here's an entire pitch that I came up with for a spin-off video game called "A Tale Of Darkness" that brings together Tangled and Frozen in an unconventional way.
It's a dark fantasy action adventure video game that is a Tangled/Frozen female-led crossover in a different continuity, has Devil May Cry-influenced gameplay and has a mixture of high-quality computer animated cutscenes that advance the story in their own different and unique ways.
Premise:
"A Tale Of Darkness" tells the story of Anna, the sweet and kind-hearted but klutzy and socially awkward young peasant woman who is too clumsy for her own good, always leaving a mess of a trail behind much to her frustration and is seen as an outcast. It's then on one night after humiliating herself at the "Fall Harvest" due to an incident with a pig that her life is turned completely upside-down when living shadows abduct her mother and 10-year-old sister and take them into the deepest and darkest part of the forest.
There, Anna finds herself in a hidden but deadly magical world right under our noses in an attempt to rescue them against all the odds as she now has a hardened armor attached to her body that gives her pale white skin and incredible fighting skills which she now has to use in order to survive and save her mother and sister.
Along the way not only must Anna overcome the highest stakes possible ranging from the numerous macabre creatures to this hidden world's leader whose responsible for everything occurring to said leader's female soldiers with the same armor, pale skin and skills but also find it in herself the courage, maturity and strength she never knew she had.
However in doing so, Anna ends up unintentionally attracting the attention of a certain soldier by the name of Elsa who later towards the final act offers to team up with Anna after not only being impressed with her skills especially in their previous encounters but also finding out her leader's true intentions.
Notes/Trivia/Details:
• The gameplay will be heavily influenced by a lot of the free-world and combat of the first Devil May Cry game and even The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge while at the same time taking what made those gameplays distinctive and making it all its own.... and also fixing all of the problems RebelTaxi had with Oogie's Revenge in his review.
• As for the aesthetic, like I said it will have the same quality of animation that the films, short and special all have with the cutscenes and aforementioned gameplay being done by WDAS. But at the same time, it will also have a gothic and macabre style to it that is almost Tim Burton-reminiscant especially with the backgrounds.
• Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Mandy Moore and Eden Espinosa will all reprise their roles of Anna, Elsa, Rapunzel and Cassandra. The latter three characters are now in this version or continuity part of the army of soldiers with Cass being a maniacal and manipulative one who later uses it for good, Rapunzel being the good-natured one who always gets pushed around quite literally but finally has enough and finds her own inner strength and Elsa being at first the loyal mook who follows any order that she's told and only breaks them when she feels or thinks it's for the better but then teams up with Anna when she finds out her leader's real plans.
• Three new characters are three grey-skinned female vampires with their own bombastic and enjoyably twisted personalities - Cherry, Elise and Athena - that just like Elsa, Rapunzel and Cass will turn around to the good side through their own means. Influenced by the Brides from Van Helsing in their winged bat forms minus the wings and less over-the-top as they were.
• Anna, Elsa, Rapunzel and Cass will have the same type of armor that Cass had in Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure S3 when she fused with the Moonstone, pale skin and all while at the same time keeping the colors of their hair so said color pops - Anna's hair is brown, Elsa's hair is white, Rapunzel's hair is golden blonde and Cassandra's hair is black. Meanwhile with their armor - Anna's armor is brown, Elsa's armor is white, Rapunzel's armor is purple and Cassandra's armor is black.
• The game will have a dark and intense, scary edge to it that shows us the dangers and stakes that all of the characters, especially Anna, are in and to balance out the lighter aspects. For example, when Anna accidentally ends up falling on Elsa.... Elsa devours her whole. Only for Anna to blast her way out of Elsa's stomach using something she ate way earlier and for later, Elsa puts herself back together in one.
• As for the villain of the video game, the leader that I've mentioned is named Eris and is a cunning, cold-hearted and ferocious master who is later on revealed to have a code she goes by when push comes to shove while at the same time never losing her menace.
• SPOILERS: How it ends is that after going through hell and back and a larger climax than you think, Anna is reunited with her mother and sister only to find out when they're asleep that she still has her armor and that Elsa, Rapunzel, Cassandra, Cherry, Elise and Athena all followed her into her world with Elsa proposing that they use their skills for good and that her and Anna become a couple. Without any other choice, Anna's forced to agree with Elsa embracing her.
Remember, different continuity. They are not related here as they honestly should've been from the getco.
One final thing that should be interesting is without it being obvious is that every now and then there are a few easter eggs that heavily imply a retroactive shared universe and it could be in a shared universe. It's through objects that Eris collects.

So I read and watched some things about the Tangled tv series and it’s such a mess.
There’s magic everywhere in this series when the only magic in the movie was in that flower. I guess they realized that it would get boring fast and added more interesting lore into the series. There also steampunk stuff in it which is really weird because there was none of that in the movie. There wasn’t even a gun in the movie but there’s robots in the series?
They added in some black characters in it so they don’t look as white as the movie. I’m also sure they ripped off sinbad again and gave Flynn a friend that reminded me of cal.
They also ripped off of frozen as well. We have sister issues plot lines like the queen has one and rapunzel has one with cass. Rapunzel struggles with being a queen and is anxious about it like Elsa was( when she was super perfect at everything in the movie). She even copied Anna in being a funny sleeper and not being a morning person. There also was a special where a snow storm threatened the kingdom just like with frozen! Stans whine that frozen ripped off this movie like Elsa having a similar hair part to rapunzel (lol) or that Anna is a rapunzel clone (when rapunzel was already a Ariel clone) when this show clearly rips off frozen. I guess they wanted that frozen popularity.
Mandy still can’t voice act for shit. It’s so funny how she hasn’t improved in the role since she started it and it sounds like she did this for the money. For example, That scene when rapunzel was yelling out and crying when pascal sacrificed himself was so painful. I heard more emotion from a girl who drop her own phone. it’s embarrassing because you can see that she’s out of her league when the got great singers in the mix with the guy who voiced that 14 years old and cass. It also says a lot that the song that got an award for this show had a great singer (cass I think it was) and not any of the songs Mandy sings.
The series made three king look like even more of a dick than he already was in the movie and made gothel look less of a dumbass than she did in the movies. The reason why she never moved the flower from the spot was because of some rock spikes would grow everywhere for some reason and it can cause harm to people who live in the area. But the king didn't care about this at all and took the flower knowing the things it would cause. He also kept the original flower and said that anyone who steals it like he did would be a criminal. So he’s a thief who stole a flower and used all its power for his own selfish purposes (when it could have help anyone in the kingdom with a similar or even worse case than him) and didn’t care that it would cause harm to not only his own kingdom but the world.
The 14 year old kid (who is super popular because I’ve seen his design everywhere) in the show was made out to be the bad guy because his dad got caught into that rock thingy and he just wants to issue to go away because it can hurt anyone. Rapunzel also kicked him out into a snowstorm (or someone in the castle did and she did nothing to stop it) and didn’t give a fuck about him for two episodes. He was low key right about everything going by the wiki.
I would say that the king was an abusive piece of shit because how he treated rapunzel but I already said something about that in an another post! I still can’t believe he locked her up in a fucking tower and the show pulled the “he loves and cares about you! So the abuse is ok” crap!
I do have to say that the music in the show was way better than it was in the movie. It seems like no one was holding Alan back and they got someone who could actually write good lyrics unlike that guy from the movie. The song ready as I’ll ever be (it was every where at one point and I had no idea it was from this show) was so much better than the trash ass songs they had in the movie.
The art is a mix between lolirock and a storybook. I like it better than the movie’s but it’s not the best. I also liked rapunzel’s hair better here than in the movie since it didn’t look like plastic.

Okay Lunter shippers, for those who don’t know last night Zeno (hunter’s VA) changed his display name to 'hunter noceda'. It only lasted for a couple of hours but that was enough to gain attention on twitter.
What does mean?
Well, that’s the problem. We aren’t sure. As most of you are familiar with, the majority of the fandom sees Luz and Hunter as 'siblings', to them this basically confirms, that Camila basically adopts Hunter, Then there are others that are just dubious of it and shrug it off as a troll, as Zeno has been known to do.
And I’ve been in my thoughts for that past day and spoke with a couple of friends. So the most important first thing to say is that Zeno is just a voice actor. The ONLY people that have the power to make anything CANON are the WRITERS or the CREATOR themselves. No one else, while yes there are people who work on creating the episodes they CAN NOT magically make things canon. Not storyboard artists, not animators, and definitely not VAs.
This could be hinting at the direction of where the show is going but again, nothing is confirmed.
Also, it’s okay to mourn it. I kinda did that too. Grieved during those hours Zeno had that up, I was still putting my thoughts together. Also for the love of everything don’t attack anyone who continues to ship it, it’s not worth your time putting a negative post about 'now its confirm so weird to ship it'. Come on, there is no SOLID confirmation they see each other as EXPLICIT siblings.
What if does become canon?
Well, it’s hard to say. I’ve been in the TTS fandom where people actively ignored the creator’s intent of Cass/Rapunzel being 'sisters' and continue to ship despite it. And that’s with Cass and Rapunzel having the same parental figure at one point but at different times. And you don’t see them get shit for. The only difference is that Cassunzel is wlw ship while Lunter is a m/f ship. Watch as the same people who ship Cassunzel are the same people that are going to shit on the Lunter shippers if it does siblings canon. Double standards is a bitch.
I’m no stranger to completely ignoring canon endings. I’ve watched BOTH Voltron and TOA completely collapsed in their endings. ROTT who? Voltron s8 who?
Plus, why now if that’s what their intentions were? You should have established it sooner like with King. Then people wouldn’t have jumped on the shipping train. Now you have people that are too emotionally attached to the ship (such as myself) and do what?
TL; DR Luz and Hunter’s relationship is still open to interpretation. Personally, I would like to be that way. It’s ultimately up to you whether you feel comfortable continuing to ship it.
As for me, I fear that it is a hint of where the show wants to take their relationship. My view of their relationship was something very reminiscent of the dynamic I had with my high school crush rather than 'siblings'. I would find it strange that they would try to confirm sibling dynamic on them this late in the show and given the earlier concepts of the show. Half of me wants to step back but the other half wants to continue. I still have so many ideas left for them. And Goldenlight week is coming up too. So for now I’ll keep posting, unless Dana says something. Maybe I’ll sprinkle some more platonic stuff I’ve been putting on the back burner.

We need more Dead Dove TTS/Vat7k content I'm being so fucking serious I need some dark fucked up shit on AO3 and not just in my head.
Nuru and Hugo would get along!!! THEY WOULD BE FRIENDS!! She would think that he's COOL (she's sheltered and he's street wise OFC SHE THINKS HES COOL) and he would be like OH SHIT BABY SISTER WHO LOOKS UP TO ME? FUCK.
TRAGICALLY no one in TTS is canonically gay/queer. Vat7k isn't canon, and none of the characters who are canon were confirmed in the show's CANON to be gay. They weren't technically confirmed as straight either tho so I don't wanna hear alchemy bros or anti cassunzel ppl whining in my inbox.
Eugene being the Lost Prince of the totally cool not mary sue kingdom was a dumb choice like what what what what what.
Contradicting my last statement to say that Eugene should have had the moon imagery to match Rapunzel's sun imagery. Also Eugene should have been the one to betray them instead of Cassandra, it would have been way more interesting and kept to Rapunzel and Eugene being the main characters/focus of the show.
Stalyan and Cass is the most interesting Cass ship and I don't think they even have a single scene together 😭😭.
I'm sure I have tons more but those are the first that come to mind about the fandom/show.

I have been plagued with all these prompts and ideas and need to put them somewhere so…
TANGLED FICS THEMES/SCENARIOS I NEED TO SEE MORE OF!!
-Cassandra being the dark kingdoms heir and using her powers to rebuild the kingdom, further more, Cass actually being a good queen and many people being happy under her rule. It would provide an interesting plot with Rapunzel being unsure of what to do, she wants to rebuild and better her friendship with Cassandra but it seems she’s moved on is happy and actually doesn’t want any contact with Rapunzel (maybe even going as far as to ban her from the dark kingdom, and attacking her when she tries to talk to her) meanwhile Cass dealing with her own internal struggles. Which would be basically the same in the show but without gothel.
-Rapunzel and Varian acting like actually siblings, cute happy making cupcakes and singing and playing with each other freckle siblings is cute, but I know from observing my family with siblings that it’s a lot more than that. I just need one fic where Rapunzel and Varian are play fighting and Rapunzel starts to win so Varian just starts screaming “ARIANNA! ARIANNA! RAPUNZEL’S HITTING ME!” While Rapunzel starts bribing him to shut up with like 10 bucks and a cool rock (based on real events)
-I need more fics of Varian being a normal teenager, I know when it comes to Varian no one’s first thought is “normal” but I just think it’s funny to imagine Varian coming to the castle after like 2 days off, and he’s noticeably grouchy and also Quirin’s walking with him looking upset aswell. When Rapunzel and Eugene go “Quirin what’s up with Varian?” He just goes “Varian thought it was a good idea to sneak out at three am two nights ago, so he’s grounded it’s straight to work and straight back home when work is over.” Just normal silly teenage antics.
-Varian and lance content. C’mon they were such a funny duo! I just want to see them hanging out. They fall so much into “responsible one who just wanted a normal day” and “silly one who completely derails any chance of things going to plan” and it’s hilarious
-AU’s where Caine is a bigger villain then she was in canon. I feel like I’m not the only one who thought Caine would play a much larger role than she did, I mean her motive is so interesting! A girl who lost her father due to a petty crime that was treated far to seriously for what it was (I don’t think her specifies that it was a petty crime but considering she makes a point to mention the large crack down on crimes when Rapunzel when missing I’m willing to bet her father was locked up for life for something like stealing some food or being a pickpocket) plus her personality seems to cool for her to NEVER be utilized more.
-VAT7K fics that don’t push Nuru into the “mom friend, medic/healer” trope. Let her be a teen girl who’s finally letting loose, getting to be free from her stuffy princess life. I want to see it, also need more fics centered around Hugo and Nuru’s dynamic. Varian and Eugene fall into the “annoying little brother and his tired older brother” but Hugo and Nuru are peak “annoying little sister and her equally annoying and immature older brother”
-Lance being smart! I love it when characters we normally would say are the “dumb best friend” get to show they are intelligent, they just choose not to show it. I can just see a scene where everyone is ignoring Lance’s ideas for how to handle something and he just gets so mad he yells out his idea so everyone has to hear it and they just go “oh… that’s actually a good plan…huh” and then lance is upset there’s a bit of mild angst and then apologizes and comfort at the end
Anyway that’s my idea dump that I needed off my chest

I see you have been like some of my non-star wars posts lately.
From the scale 1-10, how much exactly you like Elena of Avalor and Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure series ? I wanna know 😁
I have been liking some of those-- loved that poll about Elena and Naomi versus Cass and Rapunzel!
Admittedly, I haven't see a whole lot of either show. Elena of Avalor I've watched sporadically with my little sister. It's fun to see a show that explores a culture so different than mine, and the dynamics are fun! I'd rate that one at about 4 out of 10, because I haven't seen much and it's just not so much my style
Rapunzel's Tangled Adventures I really loved! Very much so my style of humor, and I really liked seeing where the characters from the movie (one of my favorites) ended up. Also Cass and Lance Strongbow are both amazing characters. I've only see part of season one, but I'd rate it a strong 7.5 or 8 out of 10 so far!

This is long overdue but I’m finally making this post! Here’s how I think the gang would react to Gothel having sisters!
Rapunzel:
I’ve been thinking about this for a while, snd everytime I do this is the expression I picture Rapunzel having. I think she’d be very shocked and almost in denial over it. Kinda like the way she acted over Cass’s betrayal in RR. And when they finally come back, I think Rapunzel would make a fairly big effort to try to keep her distance cause she thinks they’ll be like Gothel. And even when she finds out they aren’t, I think at that point Rapunzel’s just so beyond done with all the Gothel revelations. She does want to to talk with Cass about it, but she’s worried how that conversation will go.
Eugene:
Eugene is shocked and disgusted, but mostly FURIOUS. He’s ripping pissed on Rapunzel’s behalf and absolutely disgusted that it just got reinforced that Gothel saw Rapunzel as nothing more than a tool to help herself. He hardly cares that Gothel was gonna use the Sundrop to bring a pair of loved ones back.
Captain:
Cap feels a lot of things about it, but he’s mostly just…tired and frustrated about it. He’s happy that Cass has more bio family that aren’t total scum this time. But at the same time he wishes Gothel would just rot alone in her grave and quit bothering them all with her problems already.
Lance:
Lance is more just generally mildly surprised than anything else, mostly because all the Gothel stuff has never really had any impact on him. At first he actually thought Cass was joking…and then he saw the glass coffins. Then he proceeded to comment on how Cassandra’s life is something straight out of a soap opera.
Varian:
Varian actually always suspected there might be at least some relation there. Cause he’s seen the royal portraits, and there was always just enough of Cassandra in their faces to make him ponder. It did come as a shock to him but once the shock wore off he wasn’t exactly surprised. Heck, he was thrilled for Cass. But he also was very attentive towards her for a few days and made sure she was okay.
Cassandra:
Cassandra…she had a hell of a time with the reveal that she had Aunts. She’s found dozens of half siblings, had to rediscover that she had a twin sister and second mom, and found out her grandmother was Shampanier so she’s almost numb to the big family reveals at this point. However this one hurt. She was thrilled that she had more family and that they were two of her biggest heroes no less. But she also shocked and devastated and furious. Because of course Gothel had sisters that she abandoned. Of course she spent so long trying to bring them back, because in Cass’s mind that means that Gothel was always at least somewhat capable of love. She and Rapunzel just weren’t worth loving. And they were right under her own house the whole time and she had no idea. If she did just a little more exploring in the mirror room she would’ve found them

What songs from Hazbin Hotel would you link up to each TTS character? Like what parts of the songs would they sing?
OH MY GOD THIS IS GOING TO GET LONG CAUSE YESSSS! I have given this a lot of thought, mostly because I keep a long list of possible animations, so here we go (in no particular order because my brain is chaos):
Stayed Gone is Demanitus and Zhan Tiri in world where Demanitus doesn't disappear into a monkey mostly because of the words but also the image of Demanitus teasing Zhan Tirir for being in little blueberry ghost form thinking she's harmless and she really isn't.
It Starts With Sorry is Rapunzel. Everything about it is Rapunzel! Sir Pentious in this song is Dwayne because his the most loveably pathetic and who I can best picture in this song. The 'Can't be just kill him?' is Cass and Eugene. Which makes extra sense because when Rapunzel goes 'But who hasn't been in his shoes?' she's looking specifically at Eugene who was a thief XD
Whatever it Takes I usually see as Arianna (as Carmilla) and Lady Caine (as Vaggie)... but that admittedly only makes sense in my Tangled Sisters AU.
Poison is a difficult one because of all it represents... I do think Flynn Rider like before Rapunzel but I don't think I'd ever animate or do anything with this one because it'd feel like underplaying the severity of the original song.
Loser, Baby. Could definitely see Lance and Eugene singing this one back when they were in the grip of the Baron, unable to escape criminal life. Lance calling Eugene a loser to cheer him up just feels right XD
Happy Day in Hell is Rapunzel just because she's so sunshine!
Respectless... This is going to sound odd but Zhan Tiri and Gothel. The fact Gothel is the only disciple who doesn't seem to have demon form always makes me think she didn't quite play by Zhan Tiri's rules, and the idea of a younger Gothel just going toe to toe with Zhan Tirir is very funny to me.
Hell's Greatest Dad... I can't remove Varian from my head cause of the voice actor xD but if I try to force Varian in there, my brain changed the word of the song so it becomes a 'science versus magic' issue and some saporians are trying to steal Varian's job!
Welcome To Heaven... It's my least favorite song... The palace employees can have it, they sing the beginning part as Rapunzel comes into the palace for the first time.
More Than Anything.
You Didn't Know, I could see Rapunzel singing this to Arianna and Frederic asking them to lessen the excessive sentences for criminals, Arianna can be Emily and Frederic Sera.
Lute and Adam can be Cap and Nigel although I feel bad but they're the least likely to accept change XD
Cass can be Vaggie but because as someone whose dream is to be a guard and part of the system Rapunzel wants to change that kinda fits?
Out For Love. Perhaps my fave song ever in the entire show. Whenever I hear it I see Arianna teaching Cass to use a spear, does it make sense as a choice? No. But my brain is convinced that's the right answer XD
Ready For This... There's a singular piece of this song that I REALLY REALLY want to do an animatic of with Zhan Tirir, Tromus, Sugracha and Cass... but that's an AU thing XD But ignoring that, it's a Rapunzel song. Rosie and Alastor could be Frederic and Arianna as proud parents, but due to the manipulation bit, it could also be Sugracha and Tromus if they're somehow manipulating her in an AU.
More Than Anything Reprise. This is Lady Caine and Cassandra. Nobody can change this for me. I ship them too hard. I'm sorry. And if my ipad weren't crashing every time I try to animate I would be animating these two sooooo hard!!!
Hell is Forever, another one where I can't get my AU out of my head, in this scenario I see Cass trying to convince the other kingdoms magic isn't irreversibly evil and them being like 'nah, it is', especially cause the burning goes to the witch burnings.
Finale, this is a Rapunzel rebuilding Corona after the finale song but maybe she didn't bring Cass back to life?
More Than Anything, I mean the 'protect and adore you' not realising he's getting in the way and being overprotective is a very Frederic line but I still can't stop hearing Varian XD It's just going to have to be a grown Varian and his kids and he finally UNDERSTAND Quirin XD
That was looong!
But also shorter than I expected!
I feel like I'm missing snippets but yeah, quick overview is there! :D
