CANNOT keep your relationship a secret. He tried not to but told Rapunzel, Eugene, and maybe Cassandra. But it’s safe to say, the whole kingdom knew you were dating.

You make him hot cocoa. He loves you for it.

He always puts Ruddiger on your lap because he loves you. He gets jealous of Varian.

I also want to pre-warn people that I may take a break at some point during this fic. It's nothing to do with the fic, I'm pretty far ahead in writing, but I've been keeping up daily updates for well over year now with these series and I think a break may just be beneficial.

Hey does anyone know of this one Tangled fic that's like based off the werewolf episode but Eugene is like a big ol werecat n stuff??? I can't find it for the life of me I can only find Varian related fics-

So...apparently today is the TTS anniversary (seven years...where does time go?) and I completely forgot. 🤦‍♀️ But better late than never!

TTS was the show that got me writing fanfic in the first place, spurred me to make accounts on Ao3 and tumblr, excited me in that singular hyperfixation way, and gave me a character who I connected with in a way I'd never experienced before. Seven years later, it still holds the designation of one of my all-time favorite shows and is just so, so special to me. 💙

So, to celebrate, have a fun and silly fic (because this show gave me things to laugh and be angsty about in equal measure)! 😊

Hi, my little marshmallows! Thank you to alchemicalwerewolf for the request! This post was SUPPOSED to go out 3 days ago, on Varian’s birthday, but it’s coming out of March 27 because I’ve been REALLY sick. Like. Im struggling here 😭😭😭…AAAANYWAYS. Let’s go!!

You’re over at your boyfriend’s lab. It’s 2 am as of now and you’re *trying* to get him to go to sleep.

“C’mon, goggles. When was the last time you went to sleep? I’m asking seriously.” Y/N crosses their arms.

“Hmmm…I went to bed three days ago…that’s enough, right?”

“N-No, it’s really not…” Y/N just stares.

“It’s enough for me, sweetie! I’m not even tired!” He yawns.

“V, you’re yawning. Of course you’re tired. You can’t just ignore your needs.”

“Oh please, (nickname)! I’ll be fine, no worries! It’s all worth it for alchemy!” Varian takes a sip of the hot cocoa that Y/N made for him.

“Varian, you know I can’t let you fuck around and find out what happens with no sleep. You’re going to pass out in the daytime. That’s what always happens to me. I know you only sleep like- once a week. And you know I can’t let you do that.”

Varian lets out a small yawn. “Even so, I can almost never go to sleep. I…I just can’t. Even if I could, I can’t yet. Not while my father is still encased.” An angry look is plastered on his face.

“Varian…please, listen to me. I…no matter what you do, I will stand beside you. But I can’t see you push yourself like this. You can work on freeing your dad tomorrow, okay?” Y/N brushes Varian’s hair out of his face. “Please, goggles? Go to bed?”

“Y/N…I-I’m sorry, but I can’t listen to you. I know what’s right. I’m going to free my father, I don’t care how long it’ll take. I’ll sacrifice weeks worth of sleep before I even think of going to bed for 8 hours.”

He mixes up a chemical, before pouring it on the amber…he waits. “C’mon…c-c’mon-please…” Y/N and Varian watch closely. The chemical evaporates, not doing anything. Varian’s body tenses up, before tears roll down his face. He pounds his fist on the amber.

“FUCK! FUCK, FUCK, FUCK.” As Varian pounds his fist on the amber, he starts to bleed. Y/N drags him away.

“Goggles! You’re going mad! You’re not yourself right now!” Y/N grabs and hugs him.

“No…no…no no no nonononono…i-it’s not…why didn’t it work? I-I-It was supposed to work. It’s not right. I-It’s not…” Varian just stares at the chemical.

After hyperventilating for a bit, Varian hugs back.

“Y/N…I didn’t want to tell you this, but…I’m scared.”

“Scared?”

“Terrified. What if…what if I never see my father again? What if…he’s stuck here f-for years? The rest of my life, even?” *Varian starts shaking.

Y/N removes their headphones and puts them on Varian. “Varian, I know you’ll see your dad. I know you’ll find a way. You’re so smart. You can do it, I believe in you. But…out of good conscience, I can’t let you do this without going to bed. Please, Varian.”

Varian pauses “W-Will you cuddle me before I sleep?”

Y/N smiles, before kissing his cheek. “Of course I will. I won’t leave you.”

“Then…fine. I’ll go to bed…”

“Good.” Y/N picks up the 5’2 (A/N: I’M NOT JOKING, HE’S 5’2…GOOGLE IT.) boy and leads him to bed. They cuddle him tightly. Kissing his forehead.

Though Varian finds it extremely difficult, he starts drifting off to sleep.

Y/N and Varian fall asleep together. Varian sleeps for the first time in three days.

What's it about... here's the very beginning of the fic cause that's a better explanation than I can come up with right now (warning for graphic violence):

“Remind me why I invited you again?” Eugene groaned as Cassandra forcefully dragged him away from the window of a mirror shop. “You didn’t.” “Then why—” “I’m the one going into town to get Rapunzel these damn paints and you insisted you had to come, otherwise I’ll pick out the wrong blue, as though there are right and wrong blues!” “Of course there are right and wrong blues! Just as there are right and wrong people.” The citizens of Corona were far too familiar with the bickering of the princess’ lady-in-waiting and partner. It wasn’t a mystery why it happened. Cassandra was a proud woman and daughter to the captain, Eugene Fitzherbert was just as, if not more, proud and an ex-thief. Their clashes were inevitable. The mystery wasn’t why they clashed; it was why the two could be found so often together, even without the princess there to play peacemaker. Some said Cassandra was encouraged by her dad to keep an eye on Fitzherbert. Some said Fitzherbert was looking to get information about the captain’s daughter so as to betray Corona. But anybody who knew the two understood that despite the bickering, the screaming and even the occasional act of violence, they cared about each other. They gave out genuine advice when the times got tough; they followed each other into battle; they sought out one another when Rapunzel got into trouble. Though it was no mystery why Cassandra and Eugene clashed; it was a mystery how they ended up friends despite it all. “You are absolutely unbearable and if not for the fact you were paying, I’d have sent you back to the palace while I—” Eugene was cut off mid-sentence by Cassandra’s body slamming into him. Eugene felt a sudden pain in his shoulder as he hit the cobblestone ground hard, people coming to a sudden halt around him. He could feel Cassandra’s weight on him and he hissed, throwing her off. “You didn’t need to—!” Eugene was cut off this time by his own shock. Cassandra lay on the ground, clutching her stomach as crimson blood seeped through her clothes and pooled on the floor. An arrow protruded from her abdomen, silencing her attempts to speak. Her face was getting pale at an alarming rate.

Hello, everyone! So the next chapter of Tangled In Texts is more about world building than comedy. This is partly due to writer's block, partly because I wanted to convey more on the functioning of the app the characters use to text each other. The corresponders are really starting to take shape in my head now, more than I thought they would when I first started writing this chat fic. This has prompted me to ask some questions.

I don't intend to give up the comedic elements of this fic - it's driving force is still to make myself and others laugh - but I wanted to know what you guys would think of having some more serious chapters? This would serve to move the story forward, allow for character exploration, and convey the inner workings of the system Varian has constructed. I don't plan to add any OCs or characters from other fandoms, but are there characters from the Tangled universe (or VAT7K, which I admit I don't know anything about currently, so they may not appear) that you would like to see? They can be anyone from an established character like Quaid to someone who appears in one frame throughout the entirety of the show. There are some characters who already have at least one confirmed appearance - the brotherhood (Edmund, Quirin, Hector, Adira), Cassandra's father, and I WILL find a way to get Lady Caine in there, but is there anyone else you would enjoy seeing?

I will hopefully be back to writing chapters regularly after Cassandra gets her corresponder back (in every single chapter without her in, she has ended up mentioned - I'm trying to avoid that for this last one without her), since I won't have "avoid your favourite character" on my mind anymore XD

I haven’t drawn these guys in a while so here’s Erin and Hector during Christmas. (My headcanon birthday for Hector is actually Christmas Eve so his birthday was yesterday 😭😭😭)
