Did anyone (my money on a child) mistakes a (bald) Alpha for a bald Wookie?
Mmm, I think that would be a little difficult ^ ^; After all, I think a bald wookiee would be difficult to identify as a wookiee in the first place!
It is true that the Alphas in my stories are roughly 7 ft tall, and therefore are of a similar height to shorter wookiees. Perhaps they may not be mistaken for wookiees, but I imagine they're mistaken for other species of humanoids plenty, especially when their armor is covering them!

Alpha-17: “The kid has great potential. He may become a captain or even a commander.”
Maze: “Or a psychopath.”
Fordo: *sprinting for his life* “He’s got a weapon! He’s got a weapon!”
Cadet Rex: *sadistically laughing and chasing him with a machete*

So there's posts and fics with Alpha-17 as an Arc trainer.
Echo probably had to do a lot pf physical therapy/training after he was rescued. Alpha-17 from what I've picked up of the comics probably had to do the same.
So how about Alpha-17 looking at this trooper and he remembers training him and his brother, who's gone now, and knows the two of them were competent as fuck even if he's not gonna tell them that, can't let the younger vod get cocky, and he's all too familiar with grieving and recovering SO the day after Echo and the Batch land on Kamino he shows up in the training room they're using just like "come on you little shit time to get you back into shape."
And Echo just turns to Tech and goes "Maybe you should have left me in that stasis chamber."
The Batch just kinda blinks at that cause they haven't heard him joke much and Alpha-17 just goes "still a little shit. good. now get your ass over here before I have to come get you."

I love to imagine the training differences between the Jedi and the Clones. Not even like the difficulty of attitude towards it but the trainers themselves and what’s expected.
These clones need to grow up fast and learn to overcome personal issues and batch problems quickly. Their trainers (trainers that are older Clones such as Colt or Alpha-17) are harsh but ready to show them the way. They will yell and scream and beat their lessons into them, but when all is said an done they'll treat the cadets wounds with bacta and soft words, holding them if needed.
Jedi trainers and NOT THAT. They are sweet, gentle (most of the time (they are dealing with kids)), patient, loving, and caring. They use a slow and steady hand to guide the younglings, not only with physical training but also their personal training. They will work with the younglings, slow and patient til they understand and get it.
All of this deep dive for one comedic scene in my brain. Anyway.
In order to bridge the gap between the two organizations, several small groups of jedi younglings are taken to Kamino to meet other cadets and learn how they think/act for when each group joins the war. The younglings get to view training, visit the tubies and clones of all ages, speak with the trainers/commanders stationed there, see some of the labs, and play with some of the 'babies' and younger cadets.
During the view of a spar, the younglings are quiet and taking in the cadets (about age 10 looking) with each other. Alpha-17 is talking to the younglings, explaining their regiment and who is good at what. Once the spar is done, 17 has the same two cadets go again. He explains what he is looking for, how he sees their spar, when -after the third spar with the same pair- 17 pauses and screams:
"CT-42-9686! You drop that arm again before you're strike and i'll break it off and beat you with it! Raise it up! Do it again or I'll give you to Havoc and he'll beat it out of you!
Needless to say this got some questionable reactions and lots of squawking from the Jedi Trainer and younglings. While, the cadet adjusted his form and the others laughed.
When the younglings reaturned to their friends at the temple, they were aprehensive to share their stories of scary Clone Trainers that were mean and yelled at the Cadets and the Cadets who seemed to like it!
Meanwhile, the cadets are astonished when they had visited the temple and a Jedi trainer paused a spar and personally adjusted the younglings form and then quietly explained why it was better to do the adjustment. The next few times the youngling forgot the adjustment, the Trainer would call out 'do the adjustment!' softly and kindly.
When they returned to Kamino, they didn't know how to start explaining the Jedi's teaching methods. There were not words for them. The next time they got yelled at, they ran up and hugged their trainer and cried at how happy they were.
Needless to say, neither group will be changing their training methods any time soon.

The Prime Override - Chapter 23 is up!
Some new POVs this time 'round!
Jango sees the Jedi through the eyes of four of his Alphas.
"Captain Alpha-29, sir! We were trying something that General Koon recommended, to pass the time!" the CT on the left says. Lobo is acutely aware of said jetii General getting up from his corner of the transport to investigate the commotion, and Lobo very consciously avoids thinking about either of the trooper's names. He'd heard Seventeen's warning, and isn't going to risk the jetii potentially scraping that information from his mind.
Lobo looms over the troopers, using his bulk to block their view of the approaching jetii. "And what, exactly, might that be?"
"Captain, please do not be too harsh on them. Their actions are at my personal request," Koon says, and though his voice through his mask filter sounds not unlike a voice through a bucket vocoder, it could still never be mistaken for a vod's. Lobo turns around so that his back is to the troopers, standing squarely between them and the jetii.

Cadet Commander Kestis left an… impression on the Alpha Class when the 13th Battalion stocked up on a supply run to Kamino. His Commander is debating whether he should have bothered trying to keep the Cadet in arms length. It probably wouldn’t have helped.
(Alpha 17 will never forget the strange Jetii Cadet that apologised to a door. He thinks about it when the Cadets he trains are being strange. It gives him comfort, and a strange fascination with the happenings of Jetii Cadets.)

Alpha-17: “That’s game cadets, who’s up next?”
Random little cadet: “What does ‘thats game’ mean?”
Alpha-17: “Well, it’s a sports term. Like slam dunk or ball handler.”
Captain Fordo: *Bursts through door* “You called?”
Alpha-17: “Get the hell off my training deck right now-“

What started out as a redraw of a tooka cat from one of the star wars comics because it'd make for a neat emote, became an exercise in battling the Horrors™ through turning some clones into the cutest of space kitty cats.
Oh, and Tooka Rex still became an emote anyway so, win-win!

Hi! I really really love your blog and all the things you talk about! And as you've recently posted some good pieces about clones, I wanted to ask if you had a favourite clone?
But seriously, your posts are spectacular :)
Hey there! First of all thanks a whole bunch :D That post was originally written on August 28th 2021, so took a while to get it to a good spot, I'm so damn happy and grateful that people are responding to it!
In terms of my favorite clone... it's interesting because there's different angles to see that question from.
I absolutely adore the fandom's interpretation of Fox.
Rex and Cody are obvious great ones. Heavy is one I like a lot. Howzer looks badass as all hell.
But my original love was Alpha-17, the ARC trooper.

The sassiest clone of them all!

Like c'moooon Obi-Wan! Just let him make 2-3 teeny tiny assassinations.
Also I just found out that he trained Rex, in Legends, which is awesome!
