a/n: i’m trying something new with the drabble formats!!!!!! also omg hi!!! (also,,, kinda wanna make this a series with all the littles, hehe,,, would anyone wanna see that...?)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
it’s so obvious that tighnari likes you.
he is all smiles and sass whenever he’s with you, witty quips rolling off his tongue with ease in your presence. tighnari’s lips pull into a grin when you snap back at him with something equally as witty, always making him laugh into his hand. and, despite how much he tries to still it, his tail wags wildly when you laugh. he just thinks the sound of your laughter is precious, alright?
now, to any passer by, it’s so painfully obvious that he likes you. why else would he be taking trips into sumeru city everyday if not only to see you? cyno teases him all the time when he sees you two together, always making flirty gestures and a knowing look whenever you look away. and even collei, sweet and oblivious, asks tighnari about it. often things like why his tail was wagging so hard. or even why his ears perk up like that at just the mere mention of your name. the poor forest ranger can barely handle it, clutching onto his face or ears as his friends tease him.
was it really that obvious? he asked himself at night, hugging his pillow tightly. if cyno and collei know... then wouldn’t they know, too? tighnari clutches his pillow tighter, a pang of sadness hitting his heart.
then why haven’t they said anything about it?
unfortunately for tighnari, you are as completely oblivious to his feelings as he is to yours. it’s not at all that you don’t like him, though! you just... can be a little dense sometimes, and mistaking your enjoyment of being with him as purely platonic. and vise versa.
and nahida sees this as she strolls the streets of sumeru. she accidentally hears tighnari’s racing thoughts of overanalyzation of his words, how he holds himself, of tighnari in general when he is around you. and when she looks over to you, nahida is sad to hear many thoughts of self doubt.
sure, she had many projects waiting back for her in the akademiya. but surely something as trivial as getting you and tighnari together wouldn’t be too much?
and sure enough, it isn’t!
sending dreams to both you and tighnari helps bring you two closer together. sure, tighnari ends up waking up incredibly flustered after each one. even if it was just about you two hugging, tighnari using you as a pillow as he sleeps, or whatever simple and fluffy thing that entered his dreams. it definitely affects how he sees you, as he is incredibly nervous and awkward around you. he can’t even look you in the eyes now!
for a moment, nahida worries that she’s interfered too much. however, she notices how you, albeit shyly and hesitantly, begin to make some moves on tighnari. complimenting the small things he does, like how lovely his eyes look in the late evening as the sun sets. or how you teased him for how much his tail wagged whenever you said something kind. and the dendro archon rejoices when you ask him out to eat, even if it’s just a “simple dinner between friends.” she knows what you’re doing, and she’s quite proud.
some time later when it’s announced that the two of you finally started dating, nahida is in great spirits. she’s much more talkative and bubbly as she has meetings with the akademiya scholars, almost tempting her to throw a festival of love in celebration of your and tighnari. that is until she remembers that love is the tsaritsa’s domain. oh well.
Tumblr media
cyno is amazing at keepings his feelings from you hidden.
you’re a scholar at the akademiya, one that is often visited by the general mahamantra on the dendro archon’s behalf. whenever you two talk, he keeps his replies curt. he nods along to whatever you’re saying, sometimes interjecting something half-heartedly to the conversation, with a dazed look in his amber eyes. it worries you that you’re boring the general mahamantra, but cyno reassures you that he’s not. he’s just tired, that’s all.
so why does he always act tired? you think.
little do you know, cyno does like spending time with you. he enjoys visiting you everyday, whether or not nahida asks him to. he loves the little amounts of knowledge you share on a topic when he asks you. and he does like you, because how could he not? like, seriously? you’re you, one of the most talented, amazing, downright precious, attractive, and intelligent person he’s ever met. why would he not like you?
however, with his title, cyno makes a lot of enemies. it’s best for him not to involve you in any sort of danger. even if it’s a matter of your safety, it pains cyno so much when he sees your hurt expression when he pretends to disregard whatever you just said. he’s internally screaming at himself, desperately wishing he could just grab you and hug you so tightly that the hurt and pain he’s caused is squeezed out of you.
just as he thinks that, however, the sumeru archon accidentally pears into his thoughts when she passes you two by in the akademiya. she’s a little shocked that cyno felt that way about you, and even more shocked when she hears your cruel thoughts about yourself, going on and on about how cyno would never like someone like you. nahida smacks herself so hard on the head that it alerts cyno, which lets him leave swiftly to take care of the dendro archon.
but nahida doesn’t stop thinking about the two of you together, even whilst she’s in the middle of meetings or while she’s talking with cyno himself.
how could two people like each other so much but don’t know it? she asks herself.
finally, after enough pondering, nahida begins to plant the seed of her elaborate plan to get you two together. hopefully.
first, it starts with mentioning your name to cyno as he escorts her on a walk throughout sumeru city. she’s internally delighted to see a subtle smile form on his lips at the mere mention of your name, even if it disappears soon after he gives a vague description of you. but after enough prodding, nahida gets a genuine compliment about you from him. she smiles at the general mahamantra, and cyno is left wondering what is so amusing to her.
then, she sends sweet dreams to cyno of you. sweet days spent together, making breakfast for you while you’re still in bed, waking you up with a sweet kiss and an even sweeter greeting. making you laugh, or sometimes groan, at all the ridiculous jokes cyno has to offer. enough sweet moments with you that makes him wake up, craving for more of that sweetness, craving for your presence in his life once more.
eventually, cyno begins to lower his guard and warm up to you. it’s definitely something to grow used to, as you first thought it was all some cruel prank at your expanse. but once you realize that cyno’s nods and interjections in your conversations were now genuine and sweet, you began to warm up to him, too.
nahida was delighted when she saw you and cyno together, casually holding each other’s hands as you strolled through the marketplace. she’ll make sure to offer her congratulations to cyno later, right after she congratulates herself for such a success.
Tumblr media
haitham acts so casual and friendly that you would never think he’d like you back in that way.
he leans over the desk that separates you two, listening intently to whatever you’re talking about. although, his gaze does glaze over a few times and his eyes drop down more than once. you falter, slightly, but haitham is very quick to reassure you to continue, perking up and looking at you with genuine interest as a very subtle blush takes over his face.
please tell me they didn’t see me checking them out, haitham prayed, silently.
haitham thinks his crush on you is so obvious that he does everything in his power to not let anyone know, yourself included. and it’s not at all that haitham is ashamed of liking you. if anything, haitham wants nothing more than to show all of teyvat that he cares for you! he’s truly, madly, and deeply in love with you. however, he’s a little embarrassed at how quickly he fell for you. what if he comes on too strong and scares you away? what if you don’t feel the same way? what if you hate him and he didn’t realize it?
so, haitham wants to give himself some time before he asks you out, however long that may be.
and yet, haitham’s so well thought out facade is easily found out by nahida. all she needed to do was look at how earnest haitham looked at you as you two browsed the shelves of the akademiya’s library. but, just to make sure, nahida let your and haitham’s thoughts grace her. and she was delighted to discover that you both truly did care about each other, even letting out a small giggle. however, at the pace you two were going, haitham probably wouldn’t have asked you out until the hairs on his head were... greyer.
so, nahida sends some dreams haitham’s way.
he gets these tortuously sweet dreams about you. watching you over the top of his book as you read in the same room as him, more than content with just coexisting with him in the same space. sharing space with you in general, whether that be in the kitchen making food or laying down together on the couch. his personal space is now your personal space too, and haitham is more than content with that fact.
but when he wakes up, haitham is quite sad to find out it had all been a dream. a part of him craves for those moments so badly that he begins to plan out a confession.
nahida tries not to act too happy when she hears news of the scribe and you getting together. internally, she’s overjoyed and can’t wait to see your romance blossom further. however, externally, she gives haitham a smile whenever she sees you walking him to work, holding onto his hand as you wish him well at the akademiya.
maybe the dendro archon should try match making more often.

Strictly A Business Relationship | Alhaitham x reader smut and confession
Warning: drinking, drunk sex, no use of protection Summary: It took Alhaitham several months to warm up to you, but it only took him one night of heavy drinking to actually confess. Not proofread :)
Today was a day like any other. Sitting at your desk, receiving papers, filling papers, sending out papers, making several trips from the library to your office, so on and so forth. All within of your job description as... nobody knows.
You were just Y/n. The Sages knew you as Y/n, the students and researchers know you as Y/n, everyone knew you as Y/n. Some people called you the 'Jack of All Trades', as anything from cataloguing new information to taking care of official papers, occasionally supervising experiments, keeping track of certain area's monthly expenses and research funding was your responsibility. It became a motto within the Akademiya: You have a problem? Go to Y/n!
Since you did practically every job that nobody volunteered to do part-time, you had quite the network. Everybody knew and trusted you, and therefore you could get any information you wanted, only dreaming about having the freedom to turn against this accursed institution and destroy it from within with all the information you had.
It's through this can of baked beans that you call a job that you managed to get acquainted with the Akademiya's Scribe, Alhaitham. At first, you found him rather peculiar. He was completely objective towards everything, and it seemed like he didn't have emotions at all. He just stated factual information in the most indifferent manner as possible, and emphasis on factual, since nothing left his mouth that couldn't be backed up with a ton of evidence and research. He was so smart it surprised you.
Upon some sort of miracle, many of the free work spots that you filled in for were taken, as such the Grand Sage offered you a new position that would give you more opportunities to showcase your own genius. Your title was still basically the same 'Ask-Me-To-Solve-Your-Problems Y/n', but now you at least had a job description, and a higher salary.
Your new job was looking through submissions of findings and categorizing them, supervising experiments and making sure they are done according to the submitted thesis and ensuring that the experiment materials were used and not repurposed illegally, and being a witness any time people from the Akademiya got in trouble and were handled by the Mahamatra, making records of the case in the process and maintaining a portfolio of them.
You could also be called 'I-Just-Stand-Here-And-Nod Y/n', but occasionally you did have important things to do. Like the one time you teamed up with Alhaitham. It was unexpected, but not unpleasant. His job as Scribe and your job as... whatever you were happened to intertwine, leading you to to go on an errand or two together and end up back at your place to go over all the findings.
After a while, he grew to respect the extent of your knowledge, eventually seeing you as an equal. Over the years of having a job as chaotic as yours, you also developed his way of reacting to things, the exception being that you acted like you cared. The way he saw you was an absolute genius who could still lower herself down to other people's level, entertain their menial ideas, pretend to be invested in their meaningless eventual turmoil, without ending up as a gossip point.
You were a beacon of trust within a giant web of people, and Alhaitham being so unconventional, you were like his equal opposite in personality. So modest, graceful, kind and trustworthy, and he started getting drawn to that.
Eventually your attitude of not losing your humanity rubbed off on him, but only when he was around you. He claimed he didn't care about anything or anyone, but when it came to you, he cared.
At first, it was small changes in his behavior like smiling occasionally when he was with you, thanking or complimenting you when he felt it was necessary. Then it became a habit of you two to go out to a bar and have a few drinks after a long afternoon brainstorming session.
You were a lightweight compared to him when it came to alcohol, so he'd act disappointed when placing his arm around your shoulder as he walked you home, only to maintain his image.
After some time, he'd find it easier to loosen up around you as opposed to staying as he usually was. Whenever you two were out drinking, he'd place his arm around your waist, and as he was walking you home, he'd give you a piggyback ride or carry you in his arms if he deemed you too drunk or too tired.
Once the project the two of you had been working on was over, you two once again went out drinking, but having drunk way more than the usual, Alhaitham couldn't be bothered to care about Kaveh's future remarks, he just walked you to his house, as yours was too far away.
After wobbling into his house, he noticed that Kaveh was probably out tonight, as such he grabbed a few beers and headed to his room in case his roommate would come back. You two continued popping bottle after bottle, to the point when even Alhaitham was seriously drunk. He wasn't your type of drunk. You were the type of drunk that found everything way too funny, while Alhaitham was just clingy. He sat on his bed, holding your waist as you laid with the back of your head against his stomach.
"Hehee, you look funny upside down." You said, looking up at him.
"What is that supposed to mean?" He raised his eyebrows, leaning closer to you.
"You're still pretty, it's just funny." You said after concluding that upside down Alhaitham was just as pretty as regular Alhaitham. It probably wasn't even the alcohol in your system, after all the angle didn't change the fact that his hair was nice and silky, it didn't change the mesmerizing color of his eyes, or his perfect lips.
"Upside down Y/n isn't bad either." You started giggling after hearing this.
"I'm not upside down, silly, you are. I'm normal." You reached up to tap the tip of his nose with your pointer finger.
"If you say so, normal Y/n." You blinked twice at him after he said this.
"I'm always normal, why do you emphasize?" You raised your eyebrows, and he just shrugged. All the alcohol in his brain added onto the fact that you were there made his natural, arrogant responses turn off.
For a while, you two just sat there silently until you decided that you were bored of your current position, so you sat up beside him, only for him to lean onto your shoulder and hug your torso.
"You're very pretty, Alhaitham." You giggled at him after looking down at his face for a while. Your sudden statement made him look up at you. "You have very pretty eyes, a pretty nose and very nice hair. And you also have pretty lips. 10/10, very kissable looking."
For once, he was blushing. While the look on his face didn't change, the redness in his cheeks was not something you could miss.
"Hehe, you're blushing!" You said before pinching his cheeks.
"Ow... Why did you do that?" His words fell on deaf ears as you just continued to squish different parts of his face with your hand before you just settled on playing with his hair.
"I want to ask you something, Y/n." He said out of the blue, completely seriously.
"What is it?" His tone indicated that it wasn't time for you to start joking.
"What am I... to you?" His question almost made you sober up in a sense as you looked at him in the eyes.
"I mean... you're Alhaitham. We've been working together for a while now, but we also hang out after work. And the way we're just laying here, essentially cuddling isn't quite friend behavior either. I don't know. That's the most concrete answer I can give." He nodded and swallowed. "Why? What am I to you?" You asked.
"When I met you, I was interested to see why you were so popular among everyone despite having a seemingly ordinary job. At first, I didn't think much of you, but as we were working on this case together, I realized that you were insanely smart. You are just like me, you're a genius. But even so you can remain so compassionate. You act so human around other people, despite the fact that even you yourself see their problems as meaningless. Everyone trusts and admires you, and rightfully so. I feel like you've shown me that that the part of me that I've always seen as a weakness, an inconvenience is actually good." He said, and now you were the one with tomato cheeks.
"Aww, I appreciate that." You said.
"Truthfully, I need you, Y/n. You complete me." He said, looking into your eyes with utmost sincerity.
You slowly leaned in, pressing your lips against his, one hand buried in his hair and the other tracing the muscles on his back while he just held you close. The way his lips felt on yours had your head in the sky while your stomach was spinning in circles. He was craving you, evidently so.
His hands wandered to your thighs, easily lifting you onto his lap without even breaking the kiss, then he placed his hands on your hips, pulling you even closer. You hummed against his lips as he squeezed your hips, gripping his hair before finally pulling away, breathing heavily.
"Y/n." He said looking you in the eye. "I have to warn you that if we kiss one more time, I won't be able to stop myself. The decision is yours, Y/n. We either go back to just hanging out or we can give in to our desires. You choose."
You nodded, evaluating whether or not it would be a good idea to sleep with someone in your current state. Then again, it was Alhaitham, not just 'someone'. With that, you crashed your lips against his, wrapping your legs around his waist as you sat in his lap. Suddenly the smell of him was even more intoxicating, along with the fact that he was so close to you.
A few months ago if someone told you that in the near future you'd be sitting in Alhaitham's lap, making out with him in his bed, you would've called them crazy. But now, here you were.
He groaned as you pulled on his hair, squeezing your butt as his other hand wandered up to your breasts, feeling them through the fabric of your dress. Since it was an off the shoulder dress, he could easily just pull the neckline down and expose your breasts. The cool air in his room hitting your exposed nipples made them harden while shivers were sent down your spine as he started fondling them with his hand. In the meantime, you could also feel his erection bulging through the fabric of his pants, and you only wanted more.
You started rocking, rubbing yourself against his crotch, chasing after every bit of friction, almost melting when you heard him groan deeply. The way he had you wrapped around his finger had your mind spinning, and you could only imagine what it would feel like to have him inside you.
He soon break free, but only to strip off his clothes, while you did the same. Lucky for you, you only had your dress and your panties, so you sat back down on the bed, watching him undress. You couldn't tear your eyes away from the way his muscles flexed every time he moved, and you could feel your imagination running free. While you valued your dignity, you totally wouldn't mind being bent over a desk by this man, even if half of the Akademiya saw. And you had him all for yourself.
He finally turned towards you with the last of his clothes discarded, and you felt your eyes being glued to his crotch. It was bigger than any you've seen before. It had to be at least eight inches, thick with veins, and a tip that was oozing with precum.
He just had a grin on his face as he observed the look in your eyes. "Don't worry, I'll be gentle." He said, walking over to the bed. He signaled for you to lay down before opening your legs and getting on his knees.
"You're wet." He said before proceeding to drag his tongue over your slit. He looked you straight in the eyes as he dove in, sucking on your clit while his fingers ghosted over your thighs, making you shiver. It didn't take long before you were moaning at every swirl of his tongue around your clit, and even more so whenever he licked over your opening, teasing to push his tongue in before going back to your clit. You could feel a knot forming in your stomach, but just before you could finally cum, he pulled himself away, once again looking you straight in the eye as he used his thumb to clean his face and lick everything off.
You gulped as he climbed on top of you, nervous because of the size, but also boiling with anticipation because of the climax he robbed you of. He teased your clit by rubbing his tip against it before aligning himself with your entrance and slowly pushing in. He was huge.
He moved very slowly, pushing it in inch by inch and stopping to let you adjust after every inch. The way he stretched you out hurt, causing you to scrunch your eyebrows. Seeing your expression, he leaned down to press a small kiss on your chin before pulling out and slowly pushing you in.
He started moving at a slow and steady pace. It was still a little painful, but the pain was quickly shifting to pleasure as his veins rubbed against your walls. It all felt like a fever dream. He looked insanely attractive as it was, but something about the way his naked body towered on top of you made you want to scream.
"You good?" He asked, looking up at you with a lustful, but patient gaze. You just nodded in response and waited for him to start moving again.
This time his pace was a little faster than before, but it was still overall slow and steady. You were trying to stay quiet which ended as soon as he leaned down to start sucking hickeys onto your neck. He supported himself with one hand while the other kept squishing your breasts and pinching your nipples. This combination was simply too much for your mind and body to handle, as such you quickly turned into a moaning mess as Alhaitham continued rocking his hips against yours.
You barely even realized that he'd moved you when he flipped you on top of him. He was sitting with his back against the bedframe and positioned you on top of him, hands on either side of your butt. You used your hand to direct his dick to your entrance before lowering yourself onto him, releasing a soft moan in the process.
He once again buried his face in your chest, kissing your neck, your breasts, sucking on your nipples all the while guiding your hips with his strong hands. He paired that with the movement of his own hips, and soon you were back to moaning out loud every time your pubes made contact. He was so deep inside you that you could feel his tip kissing your cervix each time. You started craving more, taking control of your hip movements and starting to move a lot quicker, and he soon got the idea, matching his pace to yours.
It was like an itch in inside you that needed to be scratched, but nothing was enough. That was until he held your hips down tightly and started thrusting up into you at an insane speed. Sounds of skin slapping and moaning from both parties filled the room, and you could feel yourself tightening around him as you threw your head back and squeezed your eyes shut.
"You're... so tight." He said, continuing this pace for about ten more seconds before both of you had climaxed. You were seeing stars and your walls were pulsating around him, sucking every bit of his cum out of his dick. The sensation of being filled with cum was something you didn't know how to even describe, but it had you hugging Alhatiham close, still heaving for air.
"That was amazing." You said, resting your chin on top of his head, giving him a face full of boobs.
"Yeah..." He said. "Let's get you cleaned up."
He cleaned you up and gave you one of his t-shirts and a pair of boxers to sleep in before he himself put on a pair of pajama shorts and climbed into bed next to you, covering the both of you with a blanked and holding you close. Your mind wandered back to the conversation that lead to this spectacular experience in the first place.
"Alhaitham, remember what you asked me?"
"Hm? Oh you mean when I asked what I mean to you." He responded, almost half asleep.
"I think I have an answer. To me, you are the one I love." You said, placing your hand on top of his hand that laid on your stomach.
"I love you too, Y/n." He said, then placed a kiss on the back of your head.
"Hehe, I'm no longer single." You giggled once again, but this time it was more because of how tired you were. "I managed to bag Alhaitham! Al-fucking-haitham! Can you believe it, Alhaitham?"
You heard him chuckle quietly, which made you do a little victory dance in your head.
"Sleep, Y/n." He said, and you muttered a 'fine' under your breath before closing your eyes and falling asleep within a few seconds.
Both of you were severely hungover when you woke up in the morning, but Alhaitham went to prepare breakfast for the two of you while you stayed in bed, rubbing the sleepiness out of your eyes. He soon came back to tell you that breakfast is done, and you got out of bed walking out of his room with a big stretch and a yawn.
Unbeknownst to either of you, Kaveh, his roommate was coming out of his room, to the living room just then. Poor man would've never expected seeing Y/n from the Akademiya being there in none other than Alhaitham's clothes. As such, he screeched. "AAAH! Y/n from the Akademiya? What are you doing here?" You knew Kaveh, there have been times when he had to interact with you for certain jobs.
Alhaitham walked to you and hugged you from behind, looking Kaveh in the eyes before saying: "She's my girlfriend."
"What? Is this true? Blink twice if he paid you to act." Kaveh said, looking at you, but you just blankly stared at him without blinking.
"I'm pretty sure I have a higher salary than him, he can't bribe me with money. So yes, it's true." You finally responded, making Kaveh once again turn his attention back to his roommate.
"But how? When?" He was absolutely, positively flabbergasted.
"I'm simply better at talking to women than you are." Alhaitham said with a completely straight face, and you were just entertained to watch this whole drama unfold.
"No. That's not true. Amani from the Spatamad Darshan is going to confess to me any way now!" He crossed his arms in front of his chest.
"You've been saying that for half a year now." Alhaitham responded while you just giggled in his arms.
"You- How dare you?" Kaveh said, storming off, while you and Alhaitham just went to the kitchen to have breakfast.
You were certain that your life will never be boring again.

kavetham different meeting au where theres a sort of fair for people who want to study in the akademiya to get to know each darshan, yknow those college fairs? where they talk to you about universities and courses? like that. and the kshahrewar and the haravatat booths are next to each other and kaveh and alhaitham are responsible for them and despite having just met they bicker with each other all. day. every future akademiya student that passes through one of their booths might as well have passed through both because they will not stop arguing about which darshan is better and which one the people talking to them should go to. its a very amusing experience to all involved except for kaveh and alhaitham themselves. and anyways. nuisances to lovers

Tumblr media
Life had been hectic for you and Kaveh, barely seeing each other for days due to your busy schedules. The Akademiya had commissioned him to assist in constructing homes for desert people in Caravan Ribat and, hopefully, extending the project to Aaru Village and abled camps. On the other hand, you oversaw the talks between the Eremites and the Akademiya while taking on jobs from the Temple of Silence. Only recently were you able to get the vacation you deserved.
'And the best way to spend it is with Kaveh. I can't wait to see his surprised face once I visit him!' You giddily thought, excitement coursing through your veins as you held the small bouquet and briefcase in your arms.
It took half an hour to reach Alhaitham and Kaveh's shared home. Vendors greeted you as you walked past them, offering goods which you bantered to buy after your visit. Once you reached their house, you knocked on the door. Rustles and loud banging could be heard, and when the door opened, you saw Kaveh's disheveled look. Dread filled your being, and by the looks of the bites and kiss marks that littered his neck and chest, you were not far from the truth.
"I—“ The words you tried to form were stuck in your throat, and you could feel your eyes well up. Kaveh merely stood there, frozen. He was not expecting you to visit him. Just then, another figure appeared from behind. It was Alhaitham, and he was in a similar state as your lover. You put two and two together and forced a smile.
"I see. I-I just came to give you something. I'm sorry for intruding." You dropped your gifts on the ground and swiftly trudged away from the two. Kaveh strived to hold you for a moment and explain, but the moment he touched you, hydro energy surrounded you and whipped his hand away. Tears streamed down your cheeks, unable to hold them for long. The blond tried to stutter an explanation, but the betrayal you felt was immense.
"J-Just stop. Please just stop! I thought you were any different, but you—And with the roommate you hated too. Was this a fun game to you, Kaveh?" You joked, anger lacing your words. He was taken aback by your remarks, guilt catching up to him.
Kaveh was ashamed. He could not look you in the eyes. More like he did not want to. He was afraid to see you judge him any further, but it was also his fault for giving in to temptation. He could only do one thing to keep you both from hurting any further.
"It's my fault. I think this is where we should part ways, (Y/N). I... It means that we're not just for each other." He muttered. Your body shook in anger, but you took a deep breath and glared at Kaveh and Alhaitham.
"I hate you so much, Kaveh." You uttered, leaving him for good.
You failed to see Kaveh slump to the ground the moment you left. Tears poured down his eyes as he tried to reach for your disappearing figure. Alhaitham, finally out of his stupor, tried to pull his roommate back to their house. The Kshahrewar architect wanted to push him away, but the Scribe whispered that things would escalate if they did not leave the street soon.
Kaveh forced himself to stand, stumbling upon losing energy after what transpired. He noticed your gifts, a bouquet of birds of paradise and a familiar briefcase. He took them inside and opened the case, only to see new tools for his work. You were thinking of him, even from far away, when you were not together.
Kaveh lost it.

What happened days prior felt like a fever dream. Sharply, a distinct sound of glass shattering echoed inside the hut, and a broken flask laid before you. As you lifelessly picked up the fragments of the equipment, your mind failed to register the cuts it brought. The floor, the walls, and even the the person you were talking with were painted in dull colors. It made life unbearable, and it felt like fate was mocking you by the numbness you felt as blood dripped down the floor. It was hypnotizing.
Suddenly, your hand was pulled up, and a familiar shade of emerald green and earthy brown eyes stared at you. There was fear and worry etched in Tighnari’s eyes, but you were too exhausted to think about it. Fading away felt more compelling, heavenly even. It distracted your mind from the debilitating world.
“Don’t waste your life like this, (Y/N). It’s painful to see you like this, hiding away from everyone, from the world. Talk to us. Let us be your strength.” Tighnari whimpered, breaking at the sight of your lifeless eyes. It was easier said than done. Yet at the back of your mind, you wondered if you could truly bury all the memories and feelings you shared with him to move on.
“I don’t know what to do anymore, Tighnari. I-It’s difficult to get up every day. Everything I do, see or feel reminds me of Kaveh. Even staying here pains me. I want to scream at him, punch him, and blame him, but he must have his reasons, right? Please tell me….” You cried, clutching his jacket.
The fennec fox gently pulled you toward him and carried you to his bed. He asked for your hand, which you obediently gave. The blood had already dried, but he made sure to clean the wound and bandage it properly. Once done, he cradled you in his arms and let his fingers run on your hair. His brotherly instincts were activated.
“Kaveh has been stressed ever since you left. There were times that he would drink his frustrations and sorrows away. He told me he did not wish to burden you, and— I’m not supposed to say this, but he’s been reflecting on his sexual interest.” Tighnari muttered, eyes glazing over to your figure for reaction. A hint of understanding was etched on your face as you leaned on his chest for comfort.
“He started liking Alhaitham but did not want to hurt me. Am I right?” You replied. The Forest Watcher nodded.
Kaveh was overly connected with his emotions, often running on them to make decisions. It was one of the traits you loved about him. Still, it did not erase the fact that what he did destroyed your trust in him. Every day felt like it was better to drown in misery. Cyno, Collei, and Tighnari did not let that happen. You were their precious friend (maybe family at this point).
“You have the right to be angry, hurt, and every negative emotion available. But, (Y/N), you must realize that there is more to life than him. If Sumeru City is suffocating you right now, how about going to the desert for a while with Cyno? He suggested this. Don’t worry, he will not let Kaveh near you while you’re there. You can get away for now, and when you’re ready to face it, we’re always here to support you.” He whispered. Shifting around, you gave Tighnari a hug, one that resembled the warmth they gave you. You might not heal completely, but you were now willing to take the step.
“Thank you.”

After completing his project for the Akademiya, Kaveh was left to his own devices. Every day, he would stare at the flowers in his vase and wallow in misery. When the moon rose, he would sit at Lambad’s Tavern, often at secluded tables. Drink after drink, he let himself drown in grief. His crimson eyes would be rimmed red, and passersby would hear him mutter apologies. It was pitiful, really.
“I’m sorry… P-Please come back, (Y/N)… I m-miss you… I’m sorry.” He muttered. It was one of the nights he did not go to Lambad’s Tavern to drink but instead spent his time under the solemn eyes of the forest. He grabbed another cup to down as he watched the sky where thousands of stars twinkled. It reminded him of the stargazing you two had done in the past.
Kaveh stared at the night sky, reminiscing about you. He did not bother to check the rustles from behind as he knew it was Alhaitham. The Scribe silently sat beside him, noting the unhealthy bottles beside the architect. He could see his swollen eyes and unkempt hair. Kaveh was once again spiraling, but he understood why. After all, it was partially his fault that the relationship between you three was in shambles. He wished to mend it, something unusual for him to do.
“(Y/N), what are they like? I only know a few about them from Tighnari and Cyno, not to mention the short visits they make at home.” He asked. It was unsure if it was the alcohol in his system that urged him to humor the scribe, but he did.
“They’re amazing. They loved with all their heart. I was charmed by their kindness, humility, and strange wit. If you don’t know, I met them after being scammed for mora again. They chased down the scammer and scolded them before guiding them to a place where they could get help. I got my money back, but they also reprimanded me for being blind to my compassion. Then, I met them again through Cyno. They fought with elegance and ferocity that they shined brightly.” Kaveh rambled, his eyes twinkling at every memory.
Alhaitham smiled at his stories. Kaveh was madly in love with you despite his confusion over his sexual interest. He admitted that he was partially jealous of how the blond glorified you, but the scribe realized that deep within him, he also found you lovely. The first time he met you was during your first visit to his—their house. You were unsure, fidgety under his stare because you thought you had the wrong place. Kaveh checked out the door and saw you. The blond scolded Alhaitham for scaring you, but you told him it was nothing to fuss over.
“It’s nice to finally meet his roommate. Thank you for tolerating Kaveh, Alhaitham. I… Did I pronounce your name right?” You asked. As strange as it was, the ashen-haired male was frozen in his spot, but he found his momentum and gave you a curt nod. You smiled again and raised your arms to gift them your special dish. It was a lovely day at that time.
“Do you regret what happened between us?” Alhaitham reluctantly asked. Kaveh took a deep breath before letting out a shaky sigh.
“No, never. I told you about everything that night, but I also love them. You both exist equally inside me.” Kaveh confessed. He poured wine into his cup and gave it to Alhaitham, who downed it. The sounds of night critters filled the silence between them. Slowly, Kaveh felt himself drift to dreamland. He welcomed it with open arms, especially since it was the only place he could see your smile and not the hateful words that haunted him at every turn of the day.
Once he was asleep, Alhaitham cleaned up after him and carried him home. He tucked him in his bed and was about to leave when he heard him mutter your name. It strengthened his resolve. That is why two days later, you found yourself in front of the scribe in Pardis Dhyai.
“What do you want from me, Alhaitham? I can’t believe you coaxed Cyno into meeting me.” You scoffed, crossing your arms at the audacity. His teal eyes stared at your form first, noting the exhaustion on your face. You must have also been mulling over this heartbreak for a long time.
“I’m grateful you accepted my invitation to discuss matters with me. I’m sure you’re already aware it’s about your relationship with Kaveh—“ He was prolonging the talk, unlike him. You sighed internally before taking a step to silence him with a finger to his lips.
“Relax, just get to the point.” It was ironic of him to suddenly feel nervous, but he did. He sat down and suggested that you do the same, as it might take a while. You obliged. A tense atmosphere enveloped you two, but you were ready to be civilized, even just for a little bit.
Alhaitham told you that Kaveh had been living his life in anguish, regretting the day he broke up with you. He recalled the amount of wine he consumed almost daily if not for him pulling it away from his hands. You listened intently to his words. Both of you were suffering, but Kaveh also needed time away from you. Time to truly understand what he wanted in his life.
“Alhaitham, that dummy is dear to you, right? Could you tell him this? ‘Let go. Find yourself first. Once you do, come back and tell us what you want.’ Both you and I know he’s the type to mull over his emotions. We need to let him figure it out first.” You commented. The scribe was silenced for once. He was aware of the budding relationship between you three, but nothing will happen with the vagueness lingering in the boundaries you all held up.
“(Y/N), I’m sorry.” Alhaitham muttered. You gave him a pained smile. His affair with Kaveh was still fresh, and how he let it happen was like a jab in your side.
“I understand that rationality must have left your minds in that spur of the moment, but it was still stupid of you, Alhaitham. Borderline insane. You are attractive, but why Kaveh? Why the person I gave my whole heart to?” You asked.
“Strange, right? I love him at the same time as you did. For the better lack of term, he was the mirror I envied, and you were the enigma that brought out the beautiful emotions I craved from him. The way he talked about you made me fall for you as well. I’m so messed up.” He confessed. This was the first time you saw his vulnerability. It was so out of character for an objective person like him. But he once said that emotions get the best of people. It was this one time he let himself embrace that fact.
The atmosphere was dead once again. Only the chirp from the birds could be heard against the wind. With a sigh, you stood up and walked towards Alhaitham.
“I… will be leaving for the desert for a while. I asked the Lesser Lord for time to sort out my problems. It may seem unprofessional to take this route, but I also want time for myself. Thank you for talking to me, Alhaitham. I appreciate it.” You were about to leave when he grabbed your wrist. He had a conflicted face before he pulled you down to whisper something.
“What…?”
Tumblr media
As if waking up from a dream, you found yourself standing mindlessly in front of a mirror. There was only darkness around, but you were not afraid. Turning your attention back to the mirror, you saw its reflection. It was the ‘you’ from months ago. The one who found life dull and dying.
“It’s good that I finally found you, (Y/N). You buried your consciousness so far from the surface.” A soft voice uttered. There was Lesser Lord Kusanali behind you.
“My Lord, what do you mean?” Your memories were a bit muddled. After the barrage of memories, the present ones were fragmented. The Dendro Archon helped recall what occurred by pointing at the mirror.
An intense fight erupted between you and the Fatui during your trip to the Fane of Parvaje. Just before subjugating the leader, you were caught off guard by a poisoned arrow coming for Kaveh. You brought him down, but it hit your sides. As much as you hid it from him, the poison was too much to bear.
“I see. So, am I dead now?” You joked. Kusanali shook her head, but she said you were on the border of it. Tipping just a little, you would have lost your life. The flashback of memories now made sense.
“What are you going to do now, (Y/N)? Will you run away again, or will you face what made you leave Sumeru City in the first place?” She bluntly asked. It made you internally laugh at her unfiltered question.
“I found my answer, My Lord. Thank you for letting me see those for the last time.” You smiled. Kusanali grabbed your hand and guided you to the light.
“They’ve been waiting for you.” She commented, happy about your decision.
Tumblr media
“(Y/N)!”
“Kaveh! Stop spacing, or you’ll lose them for good this time.”
“I-I’m sorry. You’re right.”
“Follow me.”
‘Please, (Y/N). I haven’t told you what I want yet!’
That cruel memory lingered in Kaveh’s mind. He could still feel the amount of blood trickling down your side and the sight of the purplish skin that tainted the wound. It was a miracle that they got you to Bimarstan immediately before the poison could kill you. However, it had been a week, and you showed no sign of waking up. Considering the high poison dosage, the doctor assured him it would take time for your body to recover.
Kaveh remained by your side, not bothering to change his clothes stained with your blood. It was only when Alhaitham came and scolded him did he go home to shower. He came back to watch over your bedside, barely taking care of himself. He cradled your hand and prayed to the dendro archon for your recovery.
Alhaitham would come over after his shift, bringing food for Kaveh. He stayed not just for the architect but for you as well. The last conversation with you strengthened his resolve, and he wished to tell you that. As for Cyno and Tighnari, they visited the first week thrice. When the Forest Watcher saw the architect and the scribe, he felt anger bubble in his stomach. He would slip insults every time they struck up a conversation with him. It was until Tighnari had enough and confronted them. Guilt and shame flooded their senses, but they assured the fennec fox that they were there to correct their mistakes and tell you what they wanted.
“You better not fuck this up. They’d been nothing but considerate to the two of you. If I ever see them cry again, know that the forest will not be kind to you.” He threatened. Knowing Tighnari’s protective nature, he was dead serious about his warning.
A week and a half later, you finally woke up. The rattan ceiling of Bimarstan was recognizable, and you concluded that Kaveh and Cyno succeeded in carrying you here to get help. You tried to get up despite the weakness in your bones, only to feel a weight beside you. Kaveh was slumped on his chair, snoozing away. Heavy bags decorated the rim of his eyes.
‘He must have had sleepless nights. You dummy. You could have gone home, and they could send you a letter.’ You reached for his cheeks and caressed them lightly. It made you smile at the way his nose wrinkled. It was too cute to pass up.
“Hmm? What? (Y/N), you’re finally awake! I…” He was at a loss for words. You reached for his cheeks and stretched them.
“You could have gone home, Kaveh. It would have been more comfortable sleeping on your bed than here.” You nagged. Your eyes met his crimson eyes, which widened at the sight of tears streaming down them. He clutched your hands and thanked the archons. It must have been rough for him as it had been with you.
After his outburst, he gave you a glass of water to drink. Your throat had been parched for some time now, so his actions were greatly appreciated. He wanted to say something, but he fathomed that having the doctor check on you first was better.
“The wound is healing well. Yesterday, the results came back negative. The poison has been flushed out of your system, but your body will still need a few days to heal. We will keep you here for three more days before discharging you, Miss (Y/N).” The doctor said. You sighed in relief. You did not want to remain in the hospital anymore. You appreciated their work, but Bimarstan was just not your cup of tea.
The doctor left, and Kaveh was left under your gaze once again. He was fidgeting, unsure where to start. You wished to comfort him, but a sneeze abruptly escaped your lips. He blinked at the cute sound, making him chuckle. You blushed and covered your face at the embarrassment.
“That was too cute~ Hahaha! (Y/N), first of all, thank you. You saved my life back there, and you even made sure that everybody was safe. That was heroic of you, too kind even. I also… want to thank you for leaving those words. It gave me hope, so I strived to understand my feelings. I came to a conclusion during our travel. It made me realize that I still love you, but I also love Alhaitham. You’re both precious to me. Call me greedy, but that’s what I am right now. I’m sorry for hurting your feelings back then. I was perplexed and did not understand that liking him was normal. You know how aggravating Alhaitham can be. He’s an idiot, hardheaded, self-centered—“ He rambled. It made you smile internally.
“You’re going off the topic, Kaveh.” You interjected with a deadpan look. He blushed and coughed out the awkwardness.
“Ahem. I mean, he’s all that, yes. But then, I also saw a different side of him that people never got to see past his cold demeanor. He expresses his kindness and affection in strange ways. I slowly fell in love with that. I hope… I hope I could answer what you wished me to do back then.” Kaveh anticipated your answer.
It was nice to hear Kaveh’s honesty after months of separation. Despite the pain of the past, it was time to let that go. Holding his right hand, you tightly held it.
“I understand. I’m still unsure about this decision, but I will let us go, Kaveh.” You uttered with a solemn smile. The architect was frozen in his spot. He thought you would give him another chance, but he was too greedy. Unknowingly, he teared up at the thought of you leaving again. You were surprised, taken aback at his misery.
“Anyone would confuse your words for something else, (Y/N). You should clear that up quickly.” Alhaitham mused. You blinked at his sudden appearance before realizing that Kaveh got it all wrong. It made you laugh.
Kaveh wiped his eyes and looked at you two in confusion. The scribe merely shook his head before sitting on the other side of your bed. You told the blond about Alhaitham's suggestion months ago to enter a polyamorous relationship. It took you time to accept it, but you did not want to let the Kshahrewar graduate slip from your fingers again. Kaveh blushed at your words.
“So… you mean, you’re all right entering into a polyamorous relationship? With Alhaitham and me?” Kaveh asked, yearning to confirm if he was not dreaming about it.
You and Alhaitham lightly laughed at his relieved face. Suddenly, the scribe held your hand and asked you a question.
“Will you let me court you as well, (Y/N)?” His gentle smile made you flushed, while Kaveh whined that he was the first one who should court you. The scribe merely scoffed and pulled out bouquets of bird of paradise for the two of you.
“It looks like we will be courting each other. Hahaha! This is a bit amusing.” You grinned, eyes glazing lovingly at the flowers Alhaitham gave. What a beautiful meaning this flower carried.
“Then, I’ll be in your care, Kaveh, Alhaitham.” You voiced. They stopped their bickering and smiled at your beaming face. They held your hands and kissed them, a silent promise to keep this new relationship solid and undying.

i just recalled a post i saw on twt in which a man paid for a rental girl just so he could have someone to play yu-gi-oh with and after requesting her so many times the rental girl eventually came prepared with her own deck already built.
thinking about it now, this feels very cyno…. consider cyno who only rents you not for lover activities but to play tcg…… you show up to your first ‘date’ wearing a nice outfit with lingerie beneath it and he takes you out to dinner….only to pull out his massively overpowered tcg deck. and from then on you become his rental partner who plays cards with him hehe!! :D

thinking about yans who only let you be hand-fed by them. you’re such a sweet little useless thing, so delicate and pretty and spoilt, only the finest of tidbits are passed from their fingers into your lovely mouth

itto hated losing to you
he almost mimicked the same reaction his young opponents made when they lost agaisnt him
because it's not fair!
itto has been battling with beetles for years and you had beaten him just like that?? with little to no experience??
he's practically fuming as he calls for another rematch
but itto is also embarassed
because how is he going to shoot his shot with a hottie like you if he keeps losing??
You yelped in delight as your beetle pinned down Itto’s. The large oni chewed his lip with worry as he watched it struggle as you chanted and cheered. Normally, he’d have a gaggle of children—or at least his gang— to join in on your cheering. However, given the real reason why Itto dragged you out here, he made sure no one else tagged along for the battle. Not even his best wingmen, who thought up this idea for Itto’s “big lovey-dovey confession with all that mushy gushy stuff” as Kuki had called it, would be present.
“C’mon, just— yes! Yes, that’s it!” you cry out, becoming more animated as his beetle stills.
Itto nearly bites off his lip as he urges his beetle to keep fighting, “come on, man! There’s a lot riding on the line here!”
You looked up to him, your interest piqued now, “I thought we said this was just for—”
“Yes! Yes, that’s it lil guy!” He hollered as his beetle emerged from underneath yours, ready to turn the tides in its favor.
Until it inevitably gets pinned right back under yours, draining the little beetle of all its strength.
Crap, Itto thinks as he runs a hand through his white mane. Now I have’ta tell ‘em.
“So,” you drew out, your lips breaking into an adorable grin, “what’s my prize?”
“What prize?”
You scrunched up your brow, adorably so, and Itto felt like he had the dumbest smile on his face. Cute, is all he can think of as you roll your eyes.
“Uh, the ‘there’s a lot riding on the line’ prize?” you questioned, holding your hand out to him, expectantly. “C’mon, Itto. I didn’t peg you as a liar, so don’t—”
“It’s nothing,” he lied, practically hearing Kuki’s scolding for being a big chicken.
“Then can I make up my own?”
Itto shrugged, now truly and utterly defeated. Another chance missed.
“You have to tell me the truth,” Itto whipped his head back to you now, fear clutching onto his heart as you continued, “and I mean the truth, Itto.”
He nodded, trying to act as nonchalant as he could manage, “Shoot.”
“Do you… do you hate me?” you asked, in a voice so tentatively that it shocked him.
“I hate losing to you,” Itto responded, “but I don’t think I could ever hate someone like you.”
“And what’s that supposed to mean?”
Itto snickered to himself, a sense of delirium taking over him as he uttered out his simple confession.
“Because I like you, dummy.”

it wasn't unusual for most fatui recuits under child's leadership to find him... difficult to deal with
but for you, the eleventh harbinger was especially annoying
he managed to tease you constantly, smiling with glee whenever he managed to make you squirm or fluster
and you sensed that childe reveled in the pleasure whenever he started illogical arguments
he loved to see you groan and tell him to go away, too stumped to find a rebuttal to his nonsense
however, it does get to the point where you seriously considered requesting a position under another harbinger’s guidance
perhaps capitano would work... but then again, you worked better off the battle field
oh, but if only you knew that this daily annoyance was childe's way of expressing interest in you.
maybe if he works up the courage to one day to be blunt with you, you’ll get it
The door to your office cracked open, the sound of the doors’ hinges creaking making your headache worse. Your paperwork was already driving you up the wall. The last thing you needed was some company, even if it was someone you admired and respected like—
“Ah, comrade! I was wondering where you got to!” Tartaglia called, beaming with joy as he closed the door behind him.
Someone like Childe was the last person I needed, you think as you massage your temple.
“Sir, now is not the time,” you grumbled, your handwriting becoming more loose than before as you tried to scribble down your findings. “I’m really busy and I cannot afford to be distracted, right now.”
He smirked, “Oh? You’re saying that I’d be nothing more than a distraction to your work? My, I never took you for such a flatterer—”
“That wasn’t even flattery!” You nearly shouted, raking your hands down your face.
“Sure it wasn’t.”
“Just go away, sir,” you murmured, defeated. “Whatever you needed to deliver me can be placed on my desk.”
He frowned, but he did comply.
Childe placed a small bouquet of flowers on your desk, your name written neatly on a small card attached to it. He also set down an envelope, your name printed on its front with some lopsided but charming hearts. With a brief glance, you could tell that the handwriting on the envelope matched the small card on the bouquet.
“Are… are these for me?” you asked. “You’re sure there isn’t some other—”
“Of course they are!” He replied. “I know you’ve been having an influx of paperwork, so I thought the least I could do was this.”
“Oh,” You tentatively grabbed the bouquet and tilted the flowers to your face. “These are… surprisingly nice. Thank you, sir. It’s kind of you to be looking out for me, not many employers do.”
Childe raised a brow, a nervous chuckle escaped his thin yet perfect lips, “As… as your employer?”
“Yeah. Why else would you give these to me?” you asked, now looking at the envelope. As you gazed at the lopsided hearts decorating your name, a thought occurred to you. Was this one of his pranks? A way to provoke me and get in a fight with him?
“Well, maybe because I like you?”

some would think that a little competition between coworkers would be harmless
however, the competition between alhaitham and you parallels no other
and you two bicker and argue more often than alhaitham and kaveh do!
truly, it’s unbelievable that you two can’t even agree on something
but there’s something even more unbelievable about it all!
which is the fact that alhaitham managed to catch feelings for you in the midst of all your arguments
which, after a lot of self evaluation and questioning, led alhaitham to try and plan a confession to you
but all of that seems to go out the window once alhaitham actually tries to sit down and talk
so it seems he’ll need to go “off script” to get you to listen
Alhaitham watched as you pulled books from the shelves, tucking them under your arm as you muttered to yourself. He smirked and crossed his arms as he looked at you, hearing your incoherent ramblings much to his delight. Adorable, Alhaitham thought to himself as you sighed and fixed your appearance. Who knew being a scholar could be so draining?
When you turned around, Alhaitham’s smirk widened when you startled. Although, you did not seem to feel the same way. Instead, you began to glower at him as you shifted the books in your arms.
Time to turn on the charm, he thinks as he adjusts his gray hair.
“What are you doing here?” you sneered, causing Alhaitham to chuckle.
“Oh, is that really how you want to greet me, sweetheart?” he asked, leaning closer to you. “It’s pretty cold, don’t you think?”
“E-excuse me?”
Alhiatham’s cheeks warm as he begins the next part of his plan, mostly composed by Kaveh. Who looked a bit too giddy writing it, now that Alhaitham thought about it. “Do you want me to take those books for you?”
You narrowed your eyes, now clutching the books with a new passion. “So you can steal my research for my thesis paper? Again?”
“What?” Alhaitham furrowed his brow, dropping the charm instantly. “I told you that wasn’t what I was doing—”
“Oh, but you just so happened to need the same books as I did?”
“Our thesis papers covered the same topic, we were bound to—”
“Sure. If that’s true then—”
“Look, if anything, you should be flattered that we chose the same topics and sources,” Alhaitham interrupted, massaging his temple now. “What do they say? ‘Great minds think alike’?”
“‘Though fools seldom differ,’” you finish, shocking Alhaitham. Not many knew the entire quote, and he dared not say it but Alhaitham’s adoration for you seems to have doubled— no, tripled.
If you weren’t careful, you’d make this scribe fall even deeper in love with you. Your appearance had already intrigued him and your intelligence left him speechless at times. He loved your bickering sessions, how you teased him with that cocky smile. And, although he’d never admit it, Alhaitham got some sort of thrill— no, pleasure when he saw how angry you could get at him.
All of it made the renowned scribe blush at times, thinking of how unintelligent Alhaitham came across each time you flustered him.
Especially at a time like now, where we stood there with a stupid blush and an even stupider expression on his face; love.
“Hello? Teyvat to Alhaitham?” you questioned, waving a hand in front of his face. “You just kind of spaced out there, did my rebuttal really shock you that—”
“You have no idea how much I like you, do you?” Alhaitham replied.

dottore looks down on everyone, no matter what
from assistants to fellow harbingers, he thought he was above them
and it certainty didn’t help that no one argued otherwise
and you took issue with that, of course
so, you, his newest assistant, challenged the doctor’s intellect
oh... dottore likes you
it’s not everyday that he has someone challenge him
especially with such fiery passion in your eyes, causing his smirk to widen and his heart to swell
although, he’s afraid that you’re completely missing the fact that he adores you
and maybe dottore is taking his teasing to far...
so... maybe it’s time to finally let you know how he really feels
The Doctor and you patrolled the hallways, his oversized coat dragging behind him like a cape. You rolled your eyes at the act, envy gripping onto you as you held yourself. Even if Dottore looked ridiculous with that large coat, at least he was warm. I always forget how cold Sneznahya’s winters can be, you think bitterly as you begin to rub your hands together.
Dottore looked at you curiously, causing you to let out an impatient, “What?”
“What are you doing?” He asked, cocking his head to the side.
“I’m warming myself up,” you murmured. When he remained silent, you looked over, “did they not teach you that? In the Akademiya, I mean.”
“They didn’t teach me much to begin with,” Dottore’s lips flattened into a firm line, and you chastised yourself for looking so intently at them. “But I do know that your method isn’t the best way to warm someone up.”
Your cheeks were set ablaze as you detected—or maybe mistakened— a flirty tone in his voice. Is he saying implying what I think he’s saying? Does… does he really want to... here, of all places, too, oh my—
“Like taking my coat,” Dottore clarified as he began to unbutton his. But then he paused and looked at you, a mischievous grin plastered on his lips. “Unless you had something else in mind, my dear assistant?”
You felt the rest of your face burn as your jaw dropped. Then you remembered the small shred of dignity you did have, and tried to close your mouth before you could look like an even bigger fool.
“I— I wasn’t—”
“Oh, sure you weren’t, dear,” Dottore said, a devilish smile turning his words sugary sweet, “just like how you aren’t flustered at the idea, hm?”
“Shut up.”
He chuckled as he set the coat over your shoulders, although Dottore didn’t need to anymore. Now that he leaned so close to your face, your entire body felt uncomfortably warm. And it seemed that Dottore knew that, too.
“Why are you doing this to me?” you murmured as he began to button the coat for you. “Do… Do you enjoy toying with people’s feelings?”
Dottore stopped, and tilted his head to look at you. He titled his head to the side, looking at you as though you were an unpredicted result from an experiment.
“I would never toy with your feelings,” Dottore said. “But I do like flustering you, dear.”
“Flustering… what? Why?”
“Did I not make it obvious enough?” he chuckled darkly.
He smiled and leaned in closer than before, his lips now ghosting the shell of your ear.
“It’s because I like you, dear.”

No Matter the Impracticality - Al Haitham
Author's Notes: I wrote this before the Sumeru Archon quest was even finished being released. It's just been sitting in my document gathering dust. Additionally, this fic was a last minute 'let's post this one' kind of decision I didn't actually listen to a song while I wrote this fic either. It just kind of happened. Nonetheless, writing Al Haitham is pretty enjoyable and I do hope you enjoy this fic! Reader is, as per usual, gender-neutral.
Type: Fluff/romance heavily implied/gender-neutral reader
Word Count: 467
Tumblr media
“When people say adults in Sumeru don’t dream…. Do they mean they don’t have night time fantasies that only occur in their sleep or do they mean that they don’t hold hopeful aspirations for the future?”
Al Haitham looked up from his book to find you gazing back at him with a curious stare. Though your question was odd he did understand the meaning behind it, “Both, I suppose. We don’t dream our evenings away and we don’t waste our lives frantically chasing hopeless fantasies.”
He watched a small frown appear on your face, betraying your nature as one of the few dreamers within Sumeru, “That’s sad.”
He snorted, earning himself a look from that merely had him turning back to his book just before he threw an idle, if sarcastic, reply back your way, “It’s sad that people don’t let themselves get led astray by impractical and wholly unattainable dreams?”
He didn’t have to look at you to know you were frowning. Your tone said everything, “No. It’s sad that people chain themselves to only the things they know they can do. I understand taking the safe route when looking at something like job options, but for your entire life? That’s just restricting yourself.”
Despite himself, Al Haitham found himself acknowledging your argument. For a dreamer you could be quite logical.
He looked up from his book once more, finding his eyes being drawn to where you sat once more as you continued, fixing him with an unshakable look, “Haven’t you ever tried to reach for something? Some skill or goal you weren’t positive you could gain?”
“No.” His answer was flat and lacked all hesitation, but it didn’t tell the full story and he knew it.
He silently watched as you stared at him, startled by his speedy reply and he felt a smug smile curl across his face as he looked back down at his book.
It was true, he hadn't ever reached for anything that he wasn’t positive he could get. But just from spending time with you like this, he knew that wouldn’t last.
Al Haitham was no fool. He knew that when he looked at you he was looking at that potentially unattainable reward that he would strive for. No matter the impracticality or impossibility.
He could still feel your eyes on him when he turned his attention back to his book. You were no doubt thinking about his earlier, unhesitating reply to your question. He didn’t even bother hiding the amused smile on his face as he continued to peruse his book, not truly reading the contents as he pondered the fascination that was you.
With the way you filled his thoughts, perhaps he should be counted with the dreamers after all. But what you didn’t know wouldn’t hurt you.

this is so disorganized but exciting bc this is my first time writing in a while !! anyways BRAINROT TIME !!!
imagine alhaitham w a crush on reader 🥺 and like he knows that his feelings for them are more than “just friends” but he doesn’t know what being in love feels like :( like i jus feel that this would be the first time he’d ever had a hardcore crush. maybe in his childhood he had a couple of small crushes, but they never made him feel like this !
reader distracts him from his work as a scribe :( and if reader is studying in the akademiya, then he would see them more often and he would get even more distracted :(( and reader being the sweetheart they are, they don’t even question it when alhaitham gets flustered or nervous in front of them 😞😞 they jus assume that he has something big coming up.
alhaitham can’t explain the fluttery feeling he gets in his tummy when he sees them :( but he knows he cares for them more than a friend. now he has the issue of figuring out what he’s feeling and then how he’ll tell them <3
alhaitham being in love with reader <3
