The M word (Ajak x F!Reader)
Tumblr media
This...I don’t even know what’s this. But enjoy!
(part 2)
__________________________
"She's doing it again" Gilgamesh frowned "Thena! She's doing it again!"
"Again?"
"It's the fifth time this week" Phastos said, joining them in the stands.
Usually, he'd be in his workshop, grateful that the rest of the Eternals were finally quiet, but ever since you'd come into their lives, he had to admit that he'd been taking more and more breaks. He couldn't help it, the current situation was too funny for everyone.
Ajak, the leader, the prime eternal, was in love. She was totally and completely head over heels in love with you. None of them knew the full story, because the woman had strictly forbidden you to talk about how you met, but that didn't stop them from having fun.
It was inevitable, you were the best thing that had happened to them in...a long time. You were strong enough to fight Thena and Kingo, smart enough to follow Phastos' conversations, you loved talking to Druig about human morality, you didn't mind making a fool of yourself to play with Sprite and Sersi, and you were as kind and cool as Gilgamesh and Makkari. Even Ikaris had developed a soft spot for you, treating you like a sister.
And most importantly: you were immortal, despite not exactly being an eternal. So neither of them had to worry about you getting hurt in battle (not that Ajak paid attention to that detail, she was always nervous when you went to fight), or time closing in on you and you dying while they blinked.
You were the perfect match for Ajak, and everyone could see the love the woman had for you, one that was fully reflected in your eyes as well. Sprite and Kingo had teased a bit the first time they saw you kissing, but deep down they all knew that you were a permanent part of their lives now, they just needed to make it official.
Which would be easier if Ajak would stop blushing like a schoolgirl with her first crush every time she saw you and finally ask you the all-important question. They had all given her space, not wanting to pressure her, but it had been years since you had been with them and everyone was running out of patience.
"What are we watching?" Druig asked, appearing out of nowhere.
"Ajak is watching Makkari and Y/N train" Thena explained "We are watching Ajak being a nervous wreck while she watches Makkari and Y/N train"
"My favorite show" he replied, standing next to Phastos.
Ajak kept her gaze on you, pretending not to hear her friends behind her. She wasn't stupid, she knew that sooner or later they were going to come up with the same request as always, but the answer was still no. It's not that she didn't want to take that step, she loved you, but it made her nervous to think about the M word.
"Why don't you make her a camera, Phastos? It'll last her longer" Thena smiled as Ajak flinched.
"Oh, I'm sure it's not necessary" the man answered trying to contain a laugh "she already has Y/N’s image completely burned into her mind"
"I told you to let me into Y/N's mind" Druig intervened "this would have been over years ago"
"Enough!"
The four Eternals jumped as the leader approached them with fire in her eyes and her face completely red. Maybe she was shorter than all of them, but an annoying Ajak always commanded respect, even from Thena.
"I will not tolerate this...taunting from you, is that clear?"
"We would stop doing it if you did what you have to do" Thena replied. (I said that she commanded respect, not fear)
"I don’t know what you're talking about"
"Ajak, you're daydreaming about kissing Y/N all the time" Druig said
"That's not true" the woman blushed
"She's daydreaming about fucking her all the time" the blonde smirked.
"THENA!"
“You didn’t deny it”
"m-hmm, kisses and sex, that's what marriage is all about, you're dreaming of marrying her" Phastos smiled
"Enough! Get out of here, all of you"
"Did I hear Ajak, Y/N, and marriage in the same sentence?" Kingo asked, sticking his head through the arch of the door "Ohhhh, finally?! Excellent!! I already have everything planned, wait, I'm going to get my notebook, this will be the best wedding ever!!"
"Kingo!"
Ajak let out a mortified groan as the other four Eternals laughed around her. Was it really that hard to ask for a little privacy in this family?!
"Who's getting married?" you asked, appearing suddenly behind her
The prime eternal froze in her place and glanced sideways at Thena, who was failing miserably to hide her victorious smile. She was going to kill each and every one of them in their sleep.
"You and Ajak!" Kingo replied from inside "Don't worry, I'll send you the invitation tomorrow when I have your dress!"
"Kingo!!!!"

How about jealous Thena in the Doctor au?
Let’s say a small group of 4 doctors 2 females 2 males in different expertises are visiting the ER to gather some information on something medical. And these 2 females would not stop flirting with Gil
"I have to say, I'm really quite impressed."
Thena offers a genial smile. Making nice with other people has never been a forte of hers, but the visiting doctors from a nearby hospital have been perfectly civil. "Our staff is quite impressive."
"You run a tight ship, Doctor," the other male doctor comments, also making light talk as they tour through the hospital. The ER is the last stop on their trip, releasing them back on the ground floor after touring through the rest of the hospital.
Thena gives Ajak a wink on their way to the main door, "believe me, it's all her."
Ajak winks right back at her and then nods at the visitors, "she's my favourite kid here."
Ajak is an odd handful of years older than Thena at most.
"We've heard such wonderful things about your triage centre," one of the female doctors offers a bright and lovely smile. She's a pediatric specialist, if Thena remembers correctly. "It doesn't surprise me--wow."
The other female doctor also cranes her neck to look down the hall. "Wow is right--those are...?"
Thena's eyes bounce between the women, a strange and uncomfortable feeling welling up in her chest. "Those are two of our paramedics, Gil and Kingo."
The visiting women grasp at each other, not even attempting to hide their interest as the muscle of the ER make their way over to them. They grin at each other before looking back at Thena, "who's the one waving at us?"
Thena bristles. "Gil."
"Hey," he greets them with a smile, because of course he does. Kingo doesn't even bother to say anything, continuing on to the nurse's station without him (as is a regular thing, with Gil).
"Gil, these are the visiting doctors here to look at our facilities," Thena introduces (somewhat). "Ortho, Cardiovascular, Peds and Neuro."
The doctors might be a little surprised at her choice to list their specialties and not their actual names. But Gil isn't surprised in the least, giving them a friendly smile and a tilt of his head. "Thena's been showing you around, huh? Well, you won't find a better run ER."
"Yes, we were just remarking upon that."
"Are you just getting back?"
Thena watches as Pediatrics drifts closer to Gil, her hand raising up as if to touch his arm before drifting down again. She instead clasps her hands in front of her, batting her eyelashes at him.
"Yep," Gil answers blithely, totally unaware that he's being ogled.
"The paramedics at our hospital are never in on time after a run," Neuro sighs, landing herself at Gil's other side, even closer than Pediatrics did.
Gil skips over both of them, though, looking at Thena, "I try not to stay out too long. Just in case I'm needed here, y'know?"
She smiles at him, able to forget about the intruding doctors for this one, tender, fraction of a second.
"You help out here, too?" Pediatrics gasps, now actually laying her hand on Gil's arm. "A real jack of all trades, aren't you?"
Thena taps her toe on the floor, although it's silent, given they're all wearing running shoes.
"Well, Thena and Ajak are the real captains of the ship, down here," Gil shrugs. The only awareness he even has of the hand on his arm is his confusion over it. "If we're not out on a run I just kind of float around. Some of our interns are real airheads."
Both women let out a loud and exaggerated laugh. Neuro takes the opportunity to pat the back of her hand against Gil's shoulder, although it's a little too close to his chest.
"You're funny!"
Gil is funny--everyone knows that. Thena crosses her arms. "It might be funny if it weren't such a headache."
The Orthopaedic specialist at least gives her a sympathetic smile, "some of ours are terrible too."
"Wait you just got in!" Pediatrics gasps and beams at Gil, "so you can show us one of the ambulances!"
Thena rolls her eyes, muttering just to herself, "it's an ambulance, it should look just like yours."
"Uh, yeah, I guess," Gil shrugs, though. He looks at Thena, asking her to come with them so he's not stuck hosting three strangers by himself.
If it were anyone but him; Thena sighs but follows behind them. Ortho and Cardio are talking to each other from either side of her but she's not listening. She can't possibly; Neuro is walking so close her elbow keeps knocking together with Gil's, while Pediatrics is all but hanging off his arm as they walk.
Not that it bothers her, but they could have a little professionalism. A modicum, even--one fluid ounce of professional integrity!
"Here we are," Gil announces as they exit into the ambulance bay, his particular bus parked right outside. "We have the usual stock of stuff. Although Thena had the idea for us to add an inventory specifically of fast working anaesthetics."
"Really?"
Gil is beaming with pride. "Well, we're always advised to be so stingy with them. But patients can describe what they're feeling better when they can think straight. Plus, women in particular are used to downplaying their pain, even when it's really serious. So we always try to give them just a little bit more than the recommended amount."
"That's so forward thinking!" Pediatrics gasps up at him.
Gil seems like he's barely heard her, "it was all Thena's idea."
"And Ajak," she mutters, not that anyone is listening to her. Pediatrics and Neuro are still chattering away at Gil's sides while Ortho and Cardio have climbed into the bus to examine the extra supply Gil was describing. She looks down at her hip. She's being paged, "Gil."
He leaves the sides of the visitors in a second, pulling his hands out of his hoodie pockets to touch his palm to her elbow. All she does is look at him to tell him that it's not something she can ignore. He nods, "you go."
She nods back at him, offering a smile before trotting back inside, her ponytail swinging behind her.
Thena's ass looks great even in the unflattering scrub pants. The two male doctors have obviously noticed this over the course of their tour, leaning out of the ambulance just for the privilege and indulgence of watching her go.
Gil clears his throat loudly.
The two doctors scramble out of the back of the ambulance - Gil's ambulance - and tug at their white coats. "I-It's quite a fine piece of equipment you're running."
"Hm," Gil glares at them as he tosses the massive doors closed with one hand. His hands are back in his hoodie pockets, mostly so they won't see the fists he's making. He leans down slightly to the shorter men, "I know my wife is beautiful, but do you mind keeping your eyes to yourselves, Doctor Dumb and Doctor Dumber?"
"Y-Your-"
"We didn't-"
Gil just shrugs, heading back into the ER without waiting for their distinguished and invited guests. "Honest mistake. Just don't let it happen again."

Lucio's Market [Restaurant, Grocery, Teaching Kitchen] ♥ The Sims 4: Speed Build // CC
Lucio's Market is where culinary passion meets community connection! Nestled in the heart of Anchorpoint Wharf, this venue seamlessly blends a fully stocked grocery store, a dynamic teaching kitchen, and a cozy restaurant—all under one roof. [Lot Can be set as a restaurant, generic, or retail]
Market In Lucio's Market, you'll discover a curated selection of fresh, locally sourced ingredients, handpicked for their quality and flavor. Kitchen Step into our state-of-the-art teaching kitchen, where cooking enthusiasts of all skill levels can embark on a culinary journey led by our expert chefs. Restaurant After a satisfying cooking class, savor the fruits of your labor in our inviting restaurant area. Our chefs take the spotlight, crafting a menu that showcases the artistry of local ingredients.
Note:
♥This lot has been semi play-tested. ♥To make the Grocery part of the build functional, you can turn this into a retail lot. There are also grocery mods available such as SS realistic cooking mod and the Bulk Grocery Mod. Please keep in mind that I did not follow any requirements for these two mods as the grocery part of the build was made simply for aesthetics and storytelling. You are welcome to make adjustments! [I will be building a much bigger grocery store in the future, which im hoping will be more functional] ♥We do not have a teaching kitchen venue option in the sims 4, however, the gameplay can be achieve with some imagination! You can turn this into a generic lot and simply have your sims cook/bake together on different stoves simultaneously (I suggest making a club and setting preferences!). Also I've added a chef's station in the kitchen where you can hire a chef who can act as the "teacher". (Warning: considering there are plenty of appliances in this kitchen, a fire or two will most likely happen lmao) ♥Lastly if you want this lot to function as a restaurant, simply change the venue lot type in build mode. I would recommend downloading LittleMsSam's lock mod to lock the testing kitchen's door. This will prevent customers from using the kitchen appliances!
♥ Please make sure to turn bb.moveobjects on! ♥ Please DO NOT reupload or claim as your own. ♥ Feel free to tag me if you are using it, I love seeing my build in other peoples save file ♥ Feel free to edit/tweak my builds, but please make sure to credit me as the original creator! ♥ Thank you to all CC Creators ♥ Please let me know if there's any problem with the build!

can I get Druig with "how can you be this cheery already? we haven't even had breakfast." and "you won't stop this until i say 'yes', will you?" 🥺
A/N - YAS FOR THIS! I would love to write this, thanks for the request, dear friend!
Ray
Summary - Who knew the mind-controlling Eternal was a ball of sunshine in the morning
Tumblr media
Warnings - just some fluff :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Humming was the first thing you heard when you were slowly waking up, much to your dismay.
Grumbling, you threw the thin sheet over your head to try and block out some of the sun that was about to pour into your little shack.  The softer sounds of the trees high above rustling in the morning wind was the next thing you heard, a shiver going through your body as the humming was continuing.  You huffed, knowing now that there was no way you were going to be sleeping again as the bed was now shifting.  A pair of gentle yet calloused hands touched the top of your head and massaging your scalp as you wiggled under the sheet.
“Mornin’, my love,”
His deep tremor of a voice was enough to have you open your eyes, seeing through the thing sheet a silhouette of a body.
“How are you already awake this early?” You said in a mumble under the sheets as the fingers in your hair never stopped moving slowly, “It’s the weekend.  We don’t have chores today.”
“Still a good day to wake early and enjoy,” he replied as you huffed, pushing the sheets down and scowling up at your husband of 400 years.  Druig, perched over you on the bed with his tossed hair shining in the sun and his piercing blue eyes looking like sapphires orbs looking down at you.  He was sporting a thin shirt and running pants, a thin sheet of sweat already evident on his face as he grinned widely at you.
“You went running?” You asked as a yawn as he nodded.
“Earlier this morning, since I know you’d rather sleep all day than enjoy the first rays of the morning,” He teased, you rolling your eyes.
“How can you be this cheery already?  We haven’t even had breakfast yet,” You stated as he shrugged.
“It’s a nice day, and I find it a blessin’.” He replied, then leaning down a bit to graze his nose with yours with affection.  You could breathe in the soil that was under his nails from working out in your little vegetable garden the night before, the sweat he got from his rain, and something that was simply Druig, “The blessin’ of our village, the blessin’ of breathing in the fresh air of the jungle, and the greatest blessin’ of bein’ married to ya,”
500 years together in the Amazon was nothing short of heavenly for you and Druig.  Getting there was such a harsh and difficult decision, simply because you two left your Eternals family behind.  Druig went through so much turmoil and pain that night, knowing he was not able to help stop the genocide that was unfolding in front of all of you.  As his wife, you stood by him and never swayed in that choice when he decided to go off on his own and branch out away from all you two knew.  You too were heartbroken, not knowing when you were going to see the others again.  It’s been 500 years of raising a village and being away from the rest of the world that seemed to evolve and grow.
Ajak told you one last thing before you followed behind Druig.  You looked up to her as a mother, seeing the sense of comfort in her eyes as she gave you one last time.
“Take care of him and his heart,”
So you did.
Being married to the mind controller was nothing short of adventurous.  You two knew each other far too well, from the mannerisms to routine.  He loved sweets and you loved spice. You preferred simple affection in public whereas Druig saved his affection for the bedroom.  You loved to sleep in and take your time in the morning, whereas Druig loved to rise early with chores on his mind and take care of the village before the sun would even rise.
It was a role reversal, you being the grumpy ball of sleep and Druig being the early-rising ray of sunshine.
“Druig…it’s too early,” You said as he was peppering you with kisses and laughing as he was.  It was one of the tactics that he would use to get you out of bed.
“Will you join me for breakfast?” He asked against your cheek.  You said nothing, attempting to ignore him as he then went for the next tactic on his list.  His fingers moved to go to your sides, tickling you and making you shriek in laughter as you writhed and wiggled in bed.  Druig never stopped, keeping his fingers along your skin as you were laughing and crying at the same time.  Druig never thought of anything more beautiful than you laughing on the bed, hair flying everywhere along your face and skin, the sun shining down on your dark hair to have it almost shimmer.  To him, you were everything and more that he would ever want and cherish in this life.
“You won’t stop this until I say ‘yes’, will you?” You asked in a breath as he shook his head.  Finally, knowing that this was a battle you weren’t going to win, relent and sighed, “Fine.  Fine, I said!  Let me get dressed first!”
“Good!” He replied, his fingers retreating as you finally caught your breath again and he leaned back to have you sit up in the bed, “Although next time we can eat breakfast in bed since you covet this bed more than me,”
“..you’re not wrong,” You teased, then being silenced with Druig’s lips on yours.  You could take his sunshine attitude every day if you could, knowing that it would lift you up and push away the grumpiness that was deep inside of you.  No matter how much you hated mornings, you would take Druig waking you up with kisses and sunshine every day if you could.  His affection was shown in his smile, in his words, and in all he did around him and for you.
You’d happily take 500 more years of Druig’s happiness over anything on this planet.
The End

War and Peace
Eternal!Reader x Yelena Belova, Eternals Family Fic
@flufftober Day 2 Family, Friends and Loved Ones
Word Count 6.5K.
Your mother is the Goddess of War.
You were adopted by her when you were too young to remember.
Your mother, Thena has a sickness. It is called Mahd Wy’ry and there is no cure. Sometimes, she forgets herself. She becomes violent and she hurts people.
Her family worried when she brought you to them as a small child. Holding you tight to her chest, Thena called herself your mother.
She told you later that she would have fought the world to keep you.
Still, with her sickness, the potential danger couldn’t be ignored.
It was Ajak who made the final decision. She often did. She said that Thena could not hurt you. That even the thoughts of sickness could not make her harm her child.
The rest of your family were doubtful. But, in the end Ajak was right.
Your mother told you that the Mahd Wy’ry felt like church bells ringing in her mind. That sometimes they grew too loud to ignore.
‘But l always hear your voice.’ She told you when you were small, sitting in her lap and playing with her long hair. You loved listening to her speak, believing absolutely in the quiet authority of her words.
Your mother lived with her partner, Gilgamesh. They had been together for thousands of years. Ajak told you once that their souls had begun to bleed together.
When you were young, you didn’t understand that you were human. There weren’t many people to compare yourself to. You’d only known the eternal beings around you.
Your mother and Gilgamesh lived in the middle of nowhere. Before you had come, they had lived even more remotely in the Australian outback.
For as long as you could remember, you’d lived in Canada. When Thena took you in, Ajak’s only request had been that you would all move closer to her ranch in the US. Canada was the obvious choice. Thena’s sickness made the low population and empty landscape preferable.
You’d only met a few members of your extended family. Sersi and Ajak had been visiting ever since you were very small.
You loved spending time with Sersi. She was unwaveringly calm.
You knew your mother loved you more than anything. You felt it in the way she looked at you, in the way she held you tight when you were scared. But there was still a feeling, an uncertainty that her sickness brought with it. Sometimes, you would watch wide eyed as Gilgamesh had to remove her, silently but forcefully from the room.
Sersi was steadier. When you were little, she would sit quietly in the corner with you as the adults talked. She’d pick up small objects and change them for your entertainment. You never grew tired of watching glass turn to water, or stone to dust.
Ajak felt older than the others. She always brought you gifts when you visited. More often than not, she brought books that told you the ancient history of the world. Your family was in most of the stories. You would turn the pages, fascinated.
Ajak talked to you about everyone else in the family. Thena rarely mentioned the others and you could tell that she usually didn’t care about Ajak’s stories. Selfishly, you loved that Thena cared for very few and for you especially.
Ajak told you about the ones that had not yet met you, and about the ones that did not want to. Your family talked about Sprite sometimes. You’d met her once when you were very little. Now, she refused to see you. Ajak told you that being able to grow up was a special gift and that Sprite wished to be like you. That it’s hard to be around what you can’t have.
You didn’t understand what she’d said. You didn’t understand what growing up meant, that your life could not stay the same forever. It already felt so complete.
In your youngest years. When you had everything to learn and when learning always felt like play. You could remember only Thena. Even in your haziest memories, there was always the image of her white dress.
You remembered her tight arms and her soft songs. The sound of her heart as she carried you on long walks. The steady footfall of Gilgamesh beside you.
It was hard to understand that Thena could be anything other than your mother. Like the safe warmth of a cocoon, her love wrapped around you.
Gilgamesh was the perfect addition to your childhood memories. He made your house, a cabin in the heart of the forest, feel like a home. As you grew older, he showed you how to cook, build and fish. He gave you confidence with your hands.
He argued sometimes with Thena. Ever since you were young, she had refused to teach you how to fight. Gilgamesh wanted you to be able to defend yourself.
Thena’s very purpose was violence. It made up her character like love and a soul. You would watch her as she practiced with weapons that she conjured from the air. She never hesitated, even when she sparred with Gilgamesh in his worst moods. She fought like she was predestined for victory.
You did not have the same violence inside you as Thena. And though you knew she would never hurt you. The violence inside her scared you deeply.
You’d seen the same fear in her eyes too. Once when you were small, you’d tried to get close to Gilgamesh and Thena as they practiced fighting. You’d been curious about the quick, beautiful movements. Thena’s blade had been inches from your throat before she’d realized.
As you grew older, Thena’s sickness became a larger part of your life.
Gilgamesh had always tried to shield you from it. But a few incidents inevitably slipped through the cracks.
Once, Gilgamesh had left you both at the dinner table. He’d left to check the pie he was baking for later. You watched Thena’s eyes roll white, your own eyes widening at the sight. Her hand had spasmed with a dinner knife in it. You jumped in fear when it clattered against her plate. Thena told you that everyone was going to die. She gasped like she was underwater.
You’d never felt scared like that before. You didn’t recognise your mother. You watched her get to her feet, a new golden dagger sliding against her palm. You watched it slice easily through the thick wooden table that Gilgamesh had built by hand.
Thena turned her unseeing stare on you. Fear paralyzed you.
Gilgamesh dropped his pie as he walked through the door.
Thena apologized later. She didn’t need to, because you didn’t blame her. The haunting regret in her face told you everything. You didn’t hear her crying that night. But you saw the red evidence of tears in the morning.
You never blamed your mother. You just hated that she could be lost so easily.
The next time it happened, Gilgamesh had fallen asleep in the middle of the afternoon. He was slumped in a comfortable chair across from you. You were watching Thena as she sketched in a notebook. Your gaze flickered between them, waiting with gleeful anticipation for Thena to realize. Gilgamesh was always accidentally falling asleep and it annoyed her every time.
When Thena dropped her notebook, you thought for a moment that she was about to reach over and nudge him awake. Then, she turned to stare down at the ground. Despite the sharp bend in her neck, she held herself rigidly still.
You heard her start to murmur incoherently and your heart sank unpleasantly into your stomach.
You started speaking to Thena in a low voice, watching nervously as a sharp weapon appeared in her hand. Her arm twitched erratically. Then, her head tilted towards you and with some relief you realized that she could hear you.
You kept talking, keeping your voice low to hide its persistent tremor. Slowly, the weapon faded from her hand.
‘I love you.’ You reminded her at last, reaching out to touch her hand. The touch seemed to bring Thena back to herself.
Her eyes stayed white, but a slow tear rolled down her cheek.
You moved forward, instinctive as you tried to take away her sadness.
‘Careful.’ Gilgamesh told you quietly.
It was not often that you ignored him, but you did then. You hugged Thena unsurely, your heart thumping with uncontrolled fear.
Thena held you tightly. Instinctively, she began rocking you gently. She began to hum some ancient lullaby from when you’d been smallest.
You knew that everything had changed that day.
The next time it happened, you were the one who talked Thena down. And the time after.
You watched a stress begin to fade from Gilgamesh. He seemed happier, more relaxed as he lived each day with one less worry.
Very occasionally, he left the two of you together. He would disappear for an hour or two at a time; to fish, or walk, or even to drink with strangers.
As you grew into your teenage years. You started to wish for more than the small, insular world that you’d been presented with so far. You couldn’t help wondering about the nearest town, just a thirty minute drive away.
You’d heard about other humans. About the wars they caused and the slow pace of their progress. Still you longed for a friend, someone like you.
Your future had changed too. You could see now that Thena would never be lost to her sickness again, not if you were there to help. Even as time forced you to grow up, you accepted that you would never leave this life. Your family would always be your home.
You’d heard about romantic love and about friendship, you’d seen pictures in books of the beauty that the outside world held. It didn’t seem as real as the small world you knew.
Gilgamesh knew your decision without you having to talk about it.
One day, when you were fishing together by the lake, he sighed and put his hand on your shoulder.
“When you love something, you protect it. It is the most natural thing in the world.”
You nodded at his words, if anyone could understand, it was him.
.
For your 16th birthday, there was somewhat of a family reunion. Sersi and Ajak had come to visit. So had Kingo, who you were meeting for the first time.
On the day of your 16th birthday, half the universe disappeared.
‘Probably just a coincidence!’ Kingo had scribbled in his last minute birthday card.
Your family had sensed the change like it was something in the air. You had been completely oblivious. One moment, you’d been sitting at a nearly full dining table. The next moment, Thena’s hands gripped your shoulders as she told you firmly to stay still. The warning in her eyes made you instantly obedient.
You watched your family leave and suddenly felt empty with inadequacy. You’d always admired the way your family’s own history was woven along with the world’s. You were proud to be your mother’s daughter. But, for the first time, you realized how little you had to offer to your family or to anyone.
You spent the rest of the day alone, trying not to be bitter about a global catastrophe and bad timing. You tried not to dwell on your new dark thoughts.
Your family returned in dregs throughout the evening. There was something tortured about the look in each of their eyes.
You touched Ajak’s arm worriedly when she returned. ‘We’ve seen a lot of human grief. It never gets easier.’ She said softly. You could feel the palpable heaviness from the room.
Whatever human suffering they’d witnessed had sent Thena over the edge.
Unlike the others, your mother didn’t come back into the house. Instead, you watched her from the window as she tread the same path through the forest, weaving in and out of trees with steady focus.
She ignored Gilgamesh as he talked to her from the porch. Her eyes were determined, but you caught the darker emotions wrestling across her face.
Thena circled the cabin all night, guarding all of you from nothing. You lay in bed that night, listening to her soft footsteps outside.
Every few hours, you heard the low pleading voices of different members of your family, trying to convince her to come back inside. Thena refused them all.
You’d heard that evening about the billions of humans that had suddenly turned to ash.
Your mind lingered on the thought. It could so easily have been you. You thought of your mother and what grief would one day do to her.
The next morning, everyone watched you as you made yourself breakfast, clearly worried that your mother’s strange behavior was upsetting you. Sersi stood with you, asking careful questions about how you’d slept.
You just shrugged, took out a second plate and began to fill it with breakfast for Thena.
‘It’s not her fault. She wants to fight anything that could hurt her.’ You said simply, glancing at Gilgamesh for confirmation. He nodded with an expression that seemed like a tired type of acceptance.
You interrupted Thena’s steady patrol with your offering of food. The serious look faded from her expression when she saw you standing on the cabin porch. Her mouth twitched into an automatic smile.
‘It’s been a long time since someone gave me an offering.’ She said wryly, slowing as she approached you. You sat with her on the wooden steps and began to eat. She didn’t speak and neither did you. Her arm wrapped tightly around your shoulders and you knew she was reminding herself that you were still there.
The others stayed for nearly a week. They discussed the snap endlessly, offering different theories about what humanity would do next. Thena barely paid attention. Instead, she stayed close to you, eyes flickering with constant readiness around the room.
Approximately 5 years later and half the universe returned. Thankfully, it did not ruin your birthday twice.
There is not much to say about the days before the quakes began. Your life had been outlined for a long time. Every day felt like another piece of an inevitable plan falling into place. Time blurred easily.
You knew Gilgamesh was pushing for you to have a more normal human life, but Thena would not be convinced. Your mother was unashamedly selfish in her refusal.
You heard her voice raise once as you returned from the forest.
‘She stays with us.’ Thena’s sharp tones caught your ears. ‘Her life will be over so fast.’
‘Exactly.’ Gilgamesh had thrown back with unexpected force.
You dismissed their argument as irrelevant. You knew you wouldn’t be leaving.
Gilgamesh’s only victory was teaching you how to drive.
After the driving lessons, when you returned back to the cabin, Thena would always be standing on the porch. The golden light of home would burn behind her. Her hands would grip the wooden railing as she waited for you.
‘I can’t protect you when you aren’t here.’ She told you, kissing your hair as you walked inside.
The Deviant came shortly after the first quakes rattled the Earth. The monster that had haunted your childhood nightmares found Gilgamesh alone in the forest. You were in the kitchen with your mother. Thena’s head had turned instantly at the far off sound. She was out the door before you could speak.
Later, they returned together. Immediately, you could tell that Thena was not all there. Gilgamesh kept his hand on her back, gentle but firm as he directed her back to the house.
Seeing you waiting for her on the porch, Thena’s gaze locked on you. She seemed fragile and you didn’t know what to say.
You kept your hand on her shoulder as you led her to the small garden behind the cabin. Summer was beginning and the flowers had started to bloom. You sat together. You let the sunshine and the rustling sounds of nature soothe the worried look in her far off stare.
When Gilgamesh came out to sit with you, he brought Thena her sketch pad. You watched with muted concern as she began to hurriedly chalk out strange, alien scenes. One after another, the drawings piled up.
‘I think the others will arrive soon.’ Gilamesh told you both. ‘Noone has seen a Deviant for centuries.’
Thena didn’t respond, hands still busy with her drawings. You brushed her shoulder worriedly as Gilgamesh headed back inside to make food.
Still without words, Thena grabbed your hand and held it tightly. You felt her apprehension thread inside you. Something terrible was coming.
Your mother made a dagger from the air and spun it with her fingers. You watched it twirl as fear seeped into you.
You only met Ikaris and Sprite very briefly. Together with Sersi, they had found Ajak dead on her ranch and now every plan had changed. There was no question that Gilgamesh and Thena would have to go with them.
There was no question that you would have to stay. Before they left, Sersi gave you a smartphone. You’d used her own phone briefly before, but still the technology was new to you. You promised to answer when they called.
Your mother did not say goodbye to you. Instead, she held your face gently between her hands. She looked at you with an expression full of worry. She pressed her forehead against yours and whispered ‘Be safe.’ It was the first time she’d spoken since the Deviant.
You watched your family leave and realized, as the loss of Ajak hit you with force, that immortality didn’t make them safe either.
.
Despite your quiet upbringing in the middle of nowhere, you had never known silence like this before. Two days passed and nobody called you. There was too much silence at the cabin.
You decided to drive into town, keen to be anywhere else. You knew also that if you could find the right signal, you could find news updates on your smartphone.
As you pulled into the usually quiet town, you noticed immediately the black cars lining the usually deserted streets. There were small groups of people caught in serious looking discussions. You drove past most of them, and finally pulled into one of the only free spaces left.
A blonde girl in a gray coat watched you park, she was leaning against a wall. You got out of your car and the blonde girl began to walk lazily over to you.
Before she even spoke, your heart started pounding in your chest. Her eyes slid down your white dress, a hand-me-down from your mother.
‘Are you looking for the monster?’ She asked casually.
You felt shy and scared at the same time.
‘No. What monster?’ You asked, looking automatically over your shoulder.
The girl’s eyes danced with amusement.
She gestured over her shoulder at the expanse of forest you’d just driven through.
‘Apparently, some hikers saw this giant alien creature.’ Her eyes widened dramatically. ‘Now the authorities have shown up.’
‘Oh, I’m sure it’s nothing.’ You said hurriedly, feeling overwhelmed. ‘Maybe it was a bear.’
The girl smiled patiently, as if your lie was obvious and she didn’t need to tell you. ‘I’m Yelena.’ She said after a moment.
‘I’m Y/N.’ You introduced yourself. Suddenly, you remembered the imaginary games you’d played as a child. Elaborate daydreams where you’d find yourself with a friend.
‘So, Y/N, why are you in town?’ Yelena asked.
‘Oh.’ You held out your brand new smartphone, brightening with a question that felt safe to answer. ‘I want to link this to the internet.’ You gestured vaguely to the sky. ‘But there’s no signal where I live.’
‘You live there?’ Yelena nodded back to the forest where the Deviant had been found.
You didn’t answer, scared to speak as you realized that this girl was much smarter than you. Yelena only nodded at your silence.
‘I can help with that.’ She gestured to your phone. ‘Help get it… linked up.’
‘Oh. Thank you, that’s so kind.’ You said gratefully.
Yelena suggested getting a drink at the local bar while she looked at your phone. You followed her inside, looking interestedly at the interior of a room that was not in your home.
The bartender looked you both up and down disinterestedly before returning his attention to the television set up at the side of the bar. There were two men, well dressed and serious looking, also watching the small screen.
‘Can I get you a drink?’ Yelena offered.
You racked your mind trying to think of what Gilgamesh often drank. ‘Can I get some mead?’ You asked.
Yelena’s eyebrows raised dangerously and you knew you’d said something wrong.
‘I don’t think they sell that.’ She told you, almost teasingly. ‘But I can ask.’
‘Right.’ You mumbled, embarrassment burning your cheeks.
She returned with two beers. You tried not to pull a face of disgust as you sipped yours. Mead was definitely sweeter than this.
Yelena’s hand slid across the table. A new feeling shot through your spine as you watched. She lifted your phone and began to look at the settings.
‘You were on airplane mode.’ She explained after a few seconds, handing you back the phone.
Your fingers brushed hers as you took the phone back. For a second, you forgot to breathe.
‘Right.’ You said again.
‘Easy mistake.’ She grinned, taking another sip of her beer.
‘Are you here to find the monster?’ You asked, trying suddenly to deflect the attention away from you.
Yelena shrugged. ‘It’s why I came. But now it’s much more interesting.’
‘Oh?’ You squeaked nervously.
‘The police found the monster pretty fast.’ She told you. ‘Cut up into lots of pieces.’
You kept your face very still.
‘Bit strange.’ Yelena commented as she continued to drink her beer. ‘Who goes into the forest with a blade. And who has the strength to use it like that.’
You remembered a name you’d heard over the dinner table.
‘Maybe it was the Avengers.’ You offered casually.
Yelena met your gaze then. Her stare was full of sudden unspoken sadness.
‘Maybe.’ She said at last.
You didn’t know how to tell her that you recognised her grief. You touched her hand unsurely.
Yelena’s eyes flashed and she withdrew her hand. You tried to ignore the sting of rejection, certain you hadn’t imagined the look in her eyes. You glanced down as your phone screen lit up.
Many missed calls and a single voicemail. You pushed your chair back, ignoring the screeching sound.
‘I have to -’ You muttered unthinkingly, as you called back the number and hurried to the door.
Sersi answered. Her calm voice soothed you immediately.
‘It’s over now. You’re safe.’ She said simply. You took a deep breath. ‘Is everyone okay?’ You asked.
Sersi hesitated. The pause lasted several seconds. Your stomach swooped with horrible anticipation.
‘Gilgamesh.’ You said hollowly as pieces clicked together. If it had been your mother, Gilgamesh would have found you already. Sersi said something else, but you didn’t hear. Numbly, you ended the call. You gripped the wall next to you and tried to breathe.
You made it to your car and started to cry. Half-blind from tears, you started to drive. Gilgamesh had been your father in everything but name. He had made your world safe. You’d never told him.
Regret clung like a bad taste in your mouth.
You drove back to the cabin, some part of you believing that Gilgamesh, or even your mother might be waiting for you. You found the cabin standing empty and knew that you were alone.
You stayed in your car until you were ready to check your phone again. One new message from Sersi.
‘Give her time. She loves you.’
You realized that you must have missed Sersi telling you that your mother wasn’t coming home. You stared at the cabin as dusk settled in. Without the usual bright lights inside, it seemed stark and unwelcoming.
You stiffened as a low rumbling sound began to build behind you. When you recognised the blonde girl driving the truck, you got out of your car to face her.
Yelena stepped out of her vehicle and didn’t hesitate.
‘Are you part of a cult?’ She demanded, scanning the forest clearing carefully. She moved next to you, guarded in her stance.
‘No.’ You muttered, wiping tears from your face.
Yelena looked at you like she didn’t believe you.
‘You try to order a drink from the 1300s. You don’t know how to use a phone. You’re wearing that dress. You get a mysterious call that makes you cry and then you hurry back to this creepy cabin in the woods.’ Yelena’s strong accent emphasized every word.
‘It’s not a cult.’ You muttered, using your sleeves to wipe more relentless tears. ‘My mother’s partner. He - .’ You choked on the words.
Yelena’s face softened immediately.
‘I’m so sorry. I am such an idiot.’ She told you. You felt her arms open and accepted the offered hug. You knew she was still a stranger but at that moment you only wanted to feel better.
‘Is your mother here?’ Yelena asked you. She sounded steady, as if she knew what needed to happen next. It reassured you. You shook your head. ‘No, she uh. I think that she’s taking some space.’
Yelena’s lips pressed together.
‘Is there someone else you can call?’ She asked at last. You shook your head, beginning to feel the heavy weight of grief. ‘I don’t know anybody except my family.’
Yelena looked worried then.
‘I think we should get out of here.’ She said at last, hand touching your shoulder.
Together, you walked into the cabin. Yelena waited in the living room as you disappeared to fill a bag with clothes. When you came back, you caught her looking interestedly at your mother’s chalk drawings. You didn’t care. The place felt so empty that you could barely stand it. Yelena led you to her truck and began to drive back along the road to the town.
You let her drive. You didn’t know where you were going, but you didn’t want to be alone anymore.
As you drove, Yelena kept asking you questions. About your family, your childhood, about your knowledge of the outside world. She flinched apologetically when her questions made you speak about Gilgamesh, but she didn’t stop asking.
You tried to answer as best you could. You couldn’t help trusting Yelena, but she was also the first human you’d ever met. You kept the details hazy, as you described an idyllic childhood lived in nature.
The truck approached a large sprawling mass of buildings. You looked curiously at the place that dwarfed anything you’d seen before.
‘Is this a city?’ You asked Yelena and she snorted loudly. ‘Sure, if 2,000 people can make a city.’
Your eyes widened, it was more people than you could imagine. Yelena parked in a hotel parking lot.
‘This is where I’ve been staying.’ She said. ‘Come on, I’ll get you a room too.’
A wave of inadequacy settled over you as Yelena walked you into the hotel. She spoke with the woman behind a desk, who gave you a sympathetic look. You brushed the tear tracks on your cheeks embarrassedly.
The woman booked you into the room next to Yelena’s. You walked up together.
‘Want to hang out for a bit?’ Yelena offered, as you stood together in the hotel corridor. ‘We could order food.?
You nodded, realizing suddenly just how hungry you were. Yelena had a practiced ease about her as she led you into her space.
You eyed the contents of her room curiously. Without your mother and the compelling gravity of your family home, the world felt brand new.
The small room was messy, a variety of debris emanating from an open suitcase that had been flung onto the small armchair in the corner of the room.
Yelena shrugged her gray coat from her shoulders and threw it over the suitcase. The gesture seemed casual, but you couldn't help wondering if it was intentional. You forced yourself to stay calm, it was natural that a person would be self conscious with someone new in their space.
Yelena picked up the hotel phone and started to dial for room service. The hairs on the back of your neck stood up but you couldn’t figure out why. Your gaze finally landed on the stack of books piled on the vanity across from you.
Fear trickled down your spine like ice water. A paperback of ‘The Epic of Gilgamesh’ lay on top of a copy of ‘Athena: The Story of a Goddess.’
You looked at Yelena, who stood frozen, watching you with the hotel phone still in her hand. You heard something like your mother’s voice shouting in your head. You bolted for the door.
You couldn’t run far and there wasn’t anywhere you could think to hide. You typed a desperate message to Sersi as you hurried down the hotel’s emergency exit stairs. You didn’t know if you’d sent it right. The message was a different color to the one she’d sent you earlier. Despair flared in your chest.
You reached the bottom of the stairs and the door swung open casually. Yelena stood in the doorway. Her eyes swam with guilt but you could tell from the tight line of her jaw that she was determined.
Any fleeting hope of finally having your first friend dissipated.
‘They shouldn’t have kept you like that.’ Yelena told you with forced calm. Her voice seemed to simmer with anger and sadness. ‘None of it was real.’
For the first time, you met someone else’s anger with your own.
‘Of course it was real.’ You snapped. You could guess Yelena’s intentions now.
Gilgamesh had always been there to protect your mother from herself. But he had also been there to ward off others who might see her potential as a weapon of destruction.
Now that job appeared to have fallen to you.
‘How did you find us?’ You asked. Your voice was quiet and you could feel yourself trembling. You had never felt anger like this before. You’d never met someone who wanted to hurt your family.
You suddenly knew as you clenched your fists that you were not weak. You had been raised by gods.
Yelena took a step forward.
‘Stay back.’ You told her furiously. She paused and her hands slipped loosely into her pockets. You waited for her to deliver a weapon from them but Yelena stayed still.
‘I didn’t know that they were keeping you there.’ Yelena told you abruptly. She was trying to hold your gaze and you weren’t sure if you should let her have it. If this is part of another trick that you wouldn’t see coming. ‘I was given a mission to find your mother. Someone is looking to pay her generously for her powers.’
‘I didn’t know about you.’ Yelena promised as she continued. ‘I’m not going to betray you, or your family.’ She hesitated. ‘I know what it’s like to lose people.’
In a flash, you remembered seeing her brief moment of grief earlier at the bar. You felt sudden indecision burn inside you. You took a deep breath and decided you wanted to trust her. You didn’t know if you were being reckless, you wished that you’d had some experience of the real world before today. Your family and your home felt far away.
‘Okay.’ You said at last. You walked forward and watched Yelena’s eyes widen as you reached out to take her hand. You didn’t know if this was what friends did, but you knew you wanted to. After a second, Yelena squeezed your hand back and you smiled. You were right, it was that simple.
Later that evening, you sat together on Yelena's bed, a pizza box in the space between you. You watched her silently, despite everything still in awe of the first real person you’d ever met. You already knew they weren't all this special.
‘But of course, you’re not actually an alien.’ Yelena ended her explanation of she'd found herself at your house, as she chewed the final slice of her pizza.
“Sometimes it feels like it.’ You admitted quietly. There was a long pause as Yelena watched you. You didn't look up, a strange shame seeping over you.
‘I was raised to be a soldier.’ Yelena told you at last in a tight voice. Her expression was brittle and when you looked up, you saw that her eyes were far off. ‘They brainwashed me into something that wasn’t even human.’
Something in her lost expression reminded you of your mother. You hummed cautiously, letting Yelena’s attention snap back to the room. You put a careful hand on her shoulder. Yelena blinked uncertainly and she looked younger. After a moment, she leaned her cheek against your hand.
The whole world was full of broken people. You’d never realized before. Yelena started to speak again.
You moved your hand without thinking, twisting it to brush the side of Yelena’s face gently. Yelena watched you, her expression was open.
‘You were a child?’ You asked, desperate to understand every piece of her and not knowing why.
Yelena nodded carefully, eyes never leaving you. ‘It took me years to get out. I found my sister again.’ She paused. If you hadn’t been holding her gaze, you wondered if she’d have continued with the truth.
‘She died.’ Yelena whispered into the quiet room. Wordlessly, you brushed a tear from her cheek with your thumb.
‘I’ve never said that aloud before.’ Yelena muttered, breaking eye contact and pulling her face away from you as she straightened up.
You looked at the intricate braid holding her hair back from her face. Memories of loving moments with your mother, Sersi and even Ajak flashed through your mind.
‘Did she teach you how to braid your hair like that?’ You wondered, letting your arm drop to your side. Yelena touched a piece of her hair reflexively and you noticed her breathing stutter.
‘Yeah.’ She said at last.
.
Out of nowhere, the hotel building began to shake, as if even the foundations had been startled. Your chest tightened as you remembered the text you’d attempted to send earlier. You slipped your phone out and saw bright bubbles of text appear one after another. ‘New message.’ and ‘Missed call’ repeated themselves like some secret code.
Yelena read the words over your shoulder, just as the building shook again.
‘Oh, fuck.’ She muttered, getting to her feet and slipping two knives from her pockets. Her eyes flickered to you apprehensively. In a rush, you felt the familiar uselessness of your childhood spent in the corner only allowed to watch your family fight. You knew she wanted you to stay out of danger.
The door came abruptly off its hinges and your family arrived in the room. You braced yourself as Thena walked in. Sersi stood behind her, her hands up and ready to use her powers.
Yelena’s gaze didn’t leave Thena, who was blazing in her fury. Yelena gritted her teeth and met her stare head on, she'd obviously realized that words would be useless. You watched her fists clench and then relax purposefully around her two knives.
Thena smirked as she saw the weapons in Yelena’s grip. You watched her create her own two daggers out of thin air. She took a step forward, her eyes trained entirely on Yelena. You knew she would kill her before Yelena could even raise a hand.
You blocked Yelena with your body. It was all you could do.
Thena’s knife caught your shoulder. The sting was sharp but Thena had stopped herself before any damage could be done.
She stuttered to a halt as if the mistake had burned her. She looked at you, furious and confused in the one breath. Panic was spreading behind her eyes.
Yelena stared at you too, as if she'd never seen you before.
‘I didn’t mean to worry you.’ You murmured to your mother, trying to calm the spiralling tension in the room. ‘It was my mistake. Yelena was being kind. She just didn’t want me to be alone.’
Thena gave Yelena a murderous stare. Sersi stepped forward, carefully interrupting the moment. Her hand touched your shoulder and you held back a wince as she inspected the area the knife had touched.
Yelena took her moment to speak.
‘It was a misunderstanding.’ She told Thena steadily. ‘I am sorry.’
Yelena glanced back at you, for a moment unsure. Then, she swallowed her nerves and spoke again.
'She's my friend.'
Your mother’s stare returned to you. Pain echoed back at you. Gilgamesh’s loss loomed suddenly. You let yourself fold into your mother’s arms. She hugged you tentatively and then with a kind of desperation that she’d never shown before. Tears pricked your eyes as you felt her grief wash over you like an eternal wave.
When she pulled back at last, Thena took your hands in hers and squeezed them. For a moment, you believed you were a child again, safe just because she was there.
‘He was right.’ Thena said quietly, after a moment. ‘I have to let you go.’
She kissed your forehead and her words sank in. You looked to Sersi and her mouth was tight like she had known this was coming all along.
At your look, Sersi spoke up. She told you about their spaceship and the idea to fly across the universe, warning others of the impending emergences on their planets.
It made sense then. If Thena walked the Earth then you knew she would always stay by your side. She knew that you would do the same. That’s why she was going to leave.
Your heart began to break into pieces. You wondered if it would have a soft landing.
You turned to Yelena, who’s face had stayed impassive for the last few moments. Her expression cracked suddenly.
‘My sister went to space once. She saved half the universe.’
She didn’t have to tell you that her sister hadn’t come home. You nodded, sure now that Yelena was someone you understood.
Thena and Sersi left that day, Eternal beings seemed to be ones that didn’t hesitate once their minds were made up.
A week later, you were sitting again in another hotel room. Yelena had driven you to Ohio, the one place she’d ever called home. It was a far cry from your own cabin in the woods.
You sat on a different hotel bed that wasn’t your own, surprised that the weight of change hadn’t crushed you yet. You stared at a beige wall, trying to let go of the future you’d once resigned yourself to. A future that you wouldn’t have minded, until the moment you’d met Yelena.
You felt her sitting next to you, a distant comfort coming just from her presence. She was being incredibly patient with you. The night before, she’d spent hours teaching you how to braid your hair.
She was more than just the friend you'd dreamed about. Desperately you wanted her to feel the same about you.
You were beginning to believe this was real to her too.
.
Hesitatingly, Yelena bumped her shoulder lightly against yours.
You looked to your left and saw her nervous smile waiting for you. Your heart thumped harder at the sight of it.
Yelena moved forward and her lips brushed yours. It was hesitant, soft and careful.
When she pulled back, her cheeks were flushed. Her eyes met yours briefly. You could tell she was waiting for your reaction.
You reached for her hand and gave it a squeeze.
You'd known since that first day, when you'd brushed her tears with your thumb. When you'd stepped between her and the knife.
“When you love something, you protect it. It is the most natural thing in the world.”

Today, in BG3!
Wyll attempts to shoot his shot. Multiple times. These happened within the span of three minutes.

Gale has a little better luck with conversations. Here are some interesting ones! He and Lae'zel seem to be bonding nicely?
Gale: "Tell me, Lae'zel, what is it like on the Astral Plane? Your home realm intrigues me." Lae'zel: "Githyanki lay their eggs on other planes. They cannot mature in the Astral. I will only be welcome once I obtain a mind flayer's head."
Lae'zel: "Tell me, Gale: what is your interest in the Astral Plane?" Gale: "Time. Or rather: the absense of it. In the Astral Plane, everything is eternal." Lae'zel: "It will be my home soon enough, should Vlaakith will it."
Lae'zel: "You've a particular way with words, Gale. Perhaps oration suits you more than battle." Gale: "They're not mutually exclusive. The Weave is best served with a dash of eloquence."
Shadowheart: "What did you mean before, Gale? 'A woman with shadows for eyes', you said." Gale: "Merely that if the eyes are the mirror to the soul, yours have dark curtains across the mirror. No offence taken, I hope?" Shadowheart: "Not necessarily. I haven't made up my mind about you yet."
Lae'zel: "You strike me as cleverer than most istiki, Gale. Multiple tutors, I should guess." Gale: "Many a wise man and woman indeed. Waterdeep is the home of myriad scholars." Wyll: "Ah, the City of Splendors. Spent a whole Fleetswake there with my father. What a delight."
Gale: "Your prowess in battle is remarkable, as is your battle stance itself." Lae'zel: "Hrath ajak - a technique known to few outside K'liir. Shall I teach you?" Gale: "I'll pass, thank you. I prefer Abjuration over acrobatics."
(It's the autistic-to-autistic communication, I think.)

Also, turns out that drow have a pretty easy time infiltrating the Goblin Camp. The fact that this drow in particular happens to be soft and squishy and very chaotic good is beside the point. But hey, at least we got to talk to Minthara (then kill her and steal all her gear) this time! Just got Dror Ragzlin left to take care of, then it's back to the Grove!

eternals dr
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
listen to this while reading | back to masterlist
name: Ayesha
personality type: INTJ
origin: unknown
tittle: goddess of the multiverse / goddess of the limitless universe
power type: unknown foreign source
team: 10th member of the eternals
me core: victorian era | 21st century era
shifting to: victorian era & 2020
HEHEHE HERE WE FUCKING GO
background (eternals movie spoilers)
buckle up it’s gonna be crazy. so, yk how in the eternals movie they are actually just ‘robots’ made by arishem to ‘cultivate’ life on earth just to destroy it in the end? yeah in this dr they are still robots BUT i am not LMAOOOO yk i gotta be special in every dr. and ig that’s gonna be the plot of this dr, me figuring out that im actually from another ‘reality’ where i unknowingly crossed to this eternals reality and arishem wiping out my memory to be a slave for him.
in this dr no eternal knows about my origin, not even ajak knows that i’m technically not an eternal but a god. bcs yk, eternals are greek gods ‘inspired’ but in actuality i am a legit greek god but from another reality.
how i got there i haven’t figured out, and how arishem wiped my memory is still a mystery but i know about my origin from my power development. bcs i was the only eternal that showed signs of development, over the years i became more intune & more powerful (ig arishem kinda held back my powers to downgrade me into eternals level) but he still put me with them bcs my powers look similar to the eternals.
where im from / my origin & real family
so in theory, my physical body traveled to other realities. and this eternal reality is not my ‘original reality’ where my body is from. so in my home reality my family thinks i went missing and haven’t gone back. similar to america in the doctor strange and the multiverse of madness and how she fell into another reality when she tried her powers for the first time.
in my home reality there, i was a real greek goddess, we live in mount olympus (like how the eternals thought they were from before they realize they were robots) my parents are both mothers (lesbians go) and yeah i still haven’t figured out how i fell into the eternals reality , i might script that arishem made my real life a template for the eternals imagination (like how they live before coming to earth) but in reality it’s just their programmed mind. i might also script that thena knew about my origin before but got wiped out of her memory, but i casted some sort of magic to her mind that’s why her mind is fighting back the magic of the celestials therefore making her suffer mahd wy’ry
scripted stuff in this dr
now that i got that out of the way let’s get to the fun part! i scripted that bcs im not a robot made by the celestials, i am of course a lot more powerful than the eternals, hell, even more powerful than the celestials themselfs.
i also scripted that after everything was settled, and everyone knows how im a real god and earth is well, i am taking the eternals to my home reality and show them mount olympus (scripted that ikaris isn’t a celestial loyal bastard & scripted out everyone’s deaths) so we can live happily ever after yay
scripted a face claim for druig! it’s timothee chalamet in a regulus font lmao. although barry keoghan did a wonderful job at portraying druig i wasn’t that attracted to him. (sorry yall it’s my preference) and in my head timothee is a perfect fancast for druig.
i also scripted out druigs and makkasris relationship (SORRY HES MY MAN)
powers
since im a real god i can literally be more powerful than other eternals without feeling guilty about it. here’s a list
reality manipulation ( reality creation & destruction, reality wrapping, reality shifting, shape shifting, teleportation)
reality travel
mind manipulation (mind reading, illusions, mind control)
energy manipulation (elemental, energetic, and cosmos manipulation)
astral projection
high intuition
skills that differentiate between me and other eternals
no other eternal can develop physically power wise, i keep getting stronger and more powerful as the time passes by, i get smarter and more intelligent, i can learn how to manipulate my own powers that turns into other eternals powers (i can learn how to make weapons like thena, change stuff like sersi, kingo’s power blasts, illusions like sprite, mind manipulation like druig etc) i actually start to get suspicious about this skill bcs i know other eternals are only capable of one field of evergy manipulation while i can master all.
victorian era lifestyle
SO this is the juicy part i scripted that my s/o is druig and we had a enemies to fake marriage trope in the victorian era. bcs then, a man and a woman spotted together was scandalous and i was sick n tired of moving around every 3 years to not make ppl suspicious of our relationship since both me and druig doesn’t want to marry a mortal. (this fake marriage trope was inspired by a druig fic btw LMAOO) the eternals didn’t know that we even liked each other like that so imagine the surprise when suddenly everyone was talking about sir druigs marriage to a hot antisocial aristocrat (me) since i can manipulate reality like the bippity bopitty boo fairy why not make myself and druig a wealthy victorian aristocrat??? i crave that bridgerton lifestyle fr.
i scripted a lot of stuff for this era bcs i am high maintenance lol, i scripted that normal toilets exist with WATER TO WASH ASS, script that the general population of brittain was showering everyday i hate the white ppl stank.
back to the plot, me n druig kinda fell out after a while and i decide to move to another part of the world. now,
21st century lifestyle
as much as i love the cottage core lifestyle, my soul is in the core a modern city girl, so i lived in a modern secluded forest house somewhere in scandinavia sometimes going to staycations in the city. i work many jobs throughout the years but i ended up bougee & unemployed as an investor & owns multiple (very many) real estates kind of like old money. bcs i hustled in the early years i kinda just louge in the 21st century now. and druig came back around and lived with me after a few years of me settling down & getting a permanent residency in a secluded area.
my made up last name is Leblanc and i shape shift slightly every generation to resemble my ‘ancestors’ so in the earths society im a regular old money rich girl i have a butler kind of? that does the human registry and legal stuff, and the butler is kinda always a man so i can ‘get married’ on paper and have ‘kids’ to give my generational wealth to (it’s actually still me but in a different face lol) and my last butler died before druig and i got back to live together. now my butler is a woman.
my connection to the avengers
the eternals are well acquaintances with the asgardian royal families, i visit asgard a lot, in my other eternal dr my s/o endgame is loki (or i might script a love triangle between druig and loki bcs i cant choose)
for the earth realm avengers, i help out dr strage with multiversal matters, im good friends with wanda after multiverse of madness. in my loki eternals dr im actually an avenger but idk i just wanna be relaxed with a ton of money in this one.
damn that was long thanks for reading this far lollll don’t hesitate to ask questions if you have any!

MCU Eternals Romantic!Ikaris X Reader & Platonic!Druig X Reader AU Idea (AKA my ADHD/Neurodivergent brain is whipping my butt)
Ok so, I'm just going to spare y'all the misery and brain spiral I put both @valeskafics & @its-actually-minicika through, and give the most recent one. This is a really long post as it will go into a lot of detail about the character's personality and her interactions with other characters. Please read through it, and if you hate the idea. Don't be a jerk! Just move on, and ignore this post! But if this is something that you think would be interesting to read: like it and/or let me know in the comments, or send it to a friend you think will find this idea interesting!
So it goes without saying that the MCU Eternals' fandom has unanimously agreed that Druig is best boi/edgelord, and I have no disagreements with that. Hell I basically live on Tumblr's 'druig x reader' tag. BUT I too thirst after Ikaris (AKA Not-Mother's-Favorite)...look, it's Richard Madden, I'm only human.
If you are one of the maybe 10 followers I have, you will know that I am already writing 2 other fics (a Robb Stark x Yi Tish!OC, and an Ikaris X Water Elemental!Reader). But if you read this post's title...you will see that my ADHD brain refuses to listen to reason...and since starting to write fanfiction...it has only gone into overdrive. You will also know that I love drawing inspiration from mythology...and dragons but that's another discussion.
BACK TO THE POINT! So I have seen a lot of Nature Eternal!Reader x Druig fics, and I love all of them. But I read @spacetalbot's Druig x Reader x Ikaris fic where the reader is basically Persephone, AND @winterlves's Ikaris x reader fic where the reader is Thor and Loki's sister who controls nature. Needless to say...I became obsessed.
Basically, I wanted to explore the idea of an Eternal!Reader whose powers are like Persephone (Chlorokinesis, Geokinesis, Fertility Manipulation, etc.). And while Druig is like Hades, he serves more as this reader's overprotective older brother/guardian. Instead, her main love interest in this idea will be Ikaris.
Druig and Hades actually share a good amount of similarities to each other. Both are mostly disliked/not popular amongst the Pantheon/Eternals and humanity, both are secluded to their own domain/community, both are much more somber compared to their family members, and the list can go on. But the reason I wanted to use Ikaris as the main love interest is mostly to due with his attitude towards humanity and how he interacts with them. While life goes on for everyone else, it just sort of "stops" for him. He doesn't really make any effort to connect with them outside of being with Sersi, and when he leaves her, we don't see any further attempts. And this is where Persephone!Eternal kind of comes in.
Now, unlike my other Oc's/Reader fics, I actively plan on writing this reader to show neurotypical symptoms. For example, she will show signs of having trouble emotionally connecting/socially interacting with others. Her mind will wander in meetings and need a nudge to focus back. She might unintentionally put off someone by how she phrases her question/response. She will prefer to study the differing flora and fauna in the places they visit than interact with people. While she does hold some love and affection towards them, she knows that it's not her the humans love, but rather what she can provide for them. This last part is kind of what lays the foundation to Ikaris' and the Reader's connection.
One scene I intend to write that really shows how Persephone!Eternal's mind works is how she interacts with Phastos when he describes the steam engine to Ajak. Personally, I headcanon that Druig likes to be around when Phastos is inventing something, but more just to be his annoying little brother. Persephone!Reader is not at all tech-savvy, but it's how Phastos' thinks of his ideas that fascinates her. What materials would be needed to build it? Does the materials need to be first sourced by humans? Is the conversion of high pressure to low pressure like when an area with a lot of water flowing into an area with low amount of water? If I decide to write Ikaris seeing this, it will make him notice how Persephone!Reader's mind definitely works differently than his. As normally, he wouldn't question Phastos, just accept it and move on. But he would notice how you are the only one to really connect with him by how you don't outwardly mock him like Kingo or Sprite, and by being the only Eternal to act genuinely interested despite not technologically inclined.
Another scene would be how Persephone!Reader was supposed to be attending a feast for the harvest, and so Ajak sends Ikaris to look for her. He finds her in a secluded area of a forest, and with a cow and her calf. He is confused and so Reader explains that she noticed that the cow had been eating much more lately and been much more tired and unable to work. She overheard the humans wanting to kill it, but then she noticed that the cow was in fact pregnant. So while the feast was busy, she snuck away and made an area so that the cow could safely give birth in peace. Ikaris would notice that Persephone!Reader is smiling and much more at peace alone, than in a crowded area with tons of laughter and noise. You are worried that Ajak will find out and make you not see the animals anymore, but Ikaris promises you that he will keep your secret, and that he will just tell her that you weren't feeling well. This furthers your connection.
Another one is where there had been a big dispute amongst the humans, and some people are severely hurt. Druig and Ikaris get into a fight about it since it was under Ikaris' order that Druig not engage. Ikaris is impassive and stern and Druig calls him a coward. Persephone!Reader is seeing the fight and asks Ikaris why he wouldn't let Druig stop it, if he can do it, why not let him? Ikaris retorts stating that it isn't their place to settle their disputes, to which Reader states that he should care about the humans, and not be so cruel. Ikaris gets angry and tells reader that it is not his job to justify his reasonings to Druig or anyone else, much less her. So he storms away. A few hours pass, and Ikaris hasn't been seen by anyone, not even Ajak or Sersi. Reader finds him in a hidden area and notices that his face is very tired looking. Reader realizes that she has made a big misjudgement on her part in saying that Ikaris doesn't care, and is very careful in saying she is sorry. Ikaris is still upset and tells her to go away. But Reader just stands there and doesn't move, refusing to leave him alone. She eventually gives him a hug stating that she was wrong and she was sorry, and that she should have known better. This comforts him a lot as he allows the hug. Reader also makes him a wreath of flowers of her appreciation of him as her leader, but mostly as her friend.
I got a ton of scenes planned, so like and/or comment of what you think!
If you are still waiting for my Robb Stark x OC fic! The 3rd chapter will be out soon!
Edit: I reblogged this post to add on some headcanons of an additional Eternal!Reader who is Hecate. Check out the reboot part in Notes to see it!

Imagine Ajak trying to control your Mahd Wy'ry:
Tumblr media
When you came to, you immediately dropped your weapon. There was blood on it. Not your own, that much you knew. If not yours, then whose? Ajak stood before you, hands glowing. She didn't look angry or upset, merely worried. You turned to her, then away, trying to figure out where you were. Where you ran away to. Outside, this time. The bugs were louder tonight, as if they knew you've done something awful. You had your very own audience. You'd gotten farther than you ever have, though. Off trail. One step closer to civilization. You must've been out of it for longer this time, too. More damage. More hurt. Great. If it hadn't been for her glow, you were sure you wouldn't have been able to see her. What time was it? The last thing you remembered was sitting around the table with your family, laughing, drinking. It was normal, you were happy. The sun was setting by then, the sky bleeding pinks and purples. Now it was so dark the sky had swallowed up the stars. Between the trees there wasn't a hint of light. You couldn't form the words, though it was the same speech you used every time. Your top priority: is everyone okay? Then, what happened? Sometimes you were the one bleeding, gasping for air as she healed you. You preferred that. At least you were the one paying for it. She didn't answer like she normally would have, instead holding your face, wiping away your tears. Your mind was working against you. It was killing you. You feared it would kill them, too. . . .

I Get a Sugar Rush Whenever I'm With You - Chapter 7.1
Happy Friday fellow Drukkari stans, or whatever day it is for you! Took a little longer, but I'm back with the first installment of the next chapter! If you need to catch up, you can find all other chapters on my table of contents here, or you can find me on AO3 (though you'll need an account to view). Last time, Sprite won Star Baker, Ajak was eliminated, and Makkari invited Druig over. Whatever will happen next? Find out now, in the next mini-chapter of Drukkari in the Great British Bake Off!
Tumblr media
In the middle of the week, Druig found himself standing at Makkari’s door, arms full of groceries, wondering once again if this was a date or just a secret hang-out between friends. Hunter seemed to think it was the former, but then again, Hunter had said he’d marry Bobbi a third time if she’d have him, so perhaps he wasn’t the best judge of these things. Druig was leaning toward the latter just when Makkari opened the door, her eyes lighting up at the sight of him, and he found himself hoping that Hunter was right for once. She took a bag from him as she ushered him inside.
Druig wasn’t quite sure what he was expecting. While it was comparable in size to his own, Makkari’s flat was undeniably much homier than his. It wasn’t overflowing, but it was certainly filled with stuff, unlike his own sparse sitting room. That said, it was still tidy, and although he couldn’t decipher its organization himself, he felt there was likely a method to the madness. Instead of cleaning products, it smelled of old books and, as he neared the kitchen, something sweet he couldn’t quite place. As he put the remaining bags on the counter, it hit him.
Did you actually bake a lemon cake? he asked.
I’ve sort of been wanting one since last week, she answered, a playful smile tugging at her lips. Luckily, we don’t need the oven for this recipe.
Shall we get started, then?
Makkari’s eyes widened as he echoed her words from before, and her grin grew even wider.
Since they’d decided to buy cones rather than make them, they made quick work of the ice cream. Makkari guided him through it, observing him steadily as he followed her instructions. Although he was trying to concentrate, Druig thought he caught her looking directly at him rather than what he was doing more than once throughout the process. She’d looked away quickly, but not quick enough for him to not notice.
It wasn’t long before the mixture was in the ice cream maker, then all they had to do was wait. Makkari made tea to go with the lemon cake, which Druig had nearly started eating directly out of the pan, it smelled so good. Makkari had shooed him away while she cut it into slices before bringing him a plate. As they ate their cake, they chatted about work and tea preferences and practice bakes.
I mean, I baked a lot before, but practicing for the competition is practically a part-time job, Makkari said.
It would be, if they paid us, he replied with a mock-pensive expression.
Well, obviously! she retorted with a snort, which made him chuckle. But, if I’m being honest, I didn’t think I’d still be here in week seven.
Druig softened a bit as he responded, You’re not still having doubts about belonging here, are you?
Not nearly as much as before, thanks to you, she said, her expression softening as well. But I still haven’t won Star Baker, and I wasn’t so sure about my performance last week.
I’m sure you’ll win one of these times. And I wasn’t sure about last week either, but neither was anyone else. Well, except Sprite, Druig conceded.
Yeah, I’m pretty sure nothing scares her.
Agreed. I also think she’s actually twelve, maybe thirteen at most. Must’ve made a fake ID to get in.
You said it, not me, Makkari said, shaking her head but still smiling.
Well, I had no doubts that you’d still be in the competition, Druig continued. I’m slightly surprised I’m still here, though.
Hey, you’re not having doubts again, are you? Makkari asked, her face growing a bit more serious.
Only a little. Last week was tough, he admitted. I mean, Ajak’s been baking for years, and she got eliminated.
It is going to be weird without her there, she said sadly. I felt like she was always looking out for us.
Even when she was disapproving of your investigations? he asked.
Even then, she replied wistfully, but her expression grew mischievous again as she added, Although, she was wrong about not interfering.
Why do you say that? he said, though Druig had a feeling he already knew the answer.
I talked to Dane. He has decided to ask Sersi out! Makkari could barely contain her smile, and it proved to be infectious.
Wow, another successful case, then, he said, which made her giggle. I’m sure Sersi will be over the moon on Saturday.
I can’t wait to see her face! Makkari’s expression softened again as she continued, Thanks, by the way.
For what?
For always supporting my shenanigans.
Well, you do most of the heavy lifting.
True, but I couldn’t do it without your help. You make an excellent partner-in-crime.
The conversation was lighthearted, but Druig could feel the weight of her last statement, his heart swelling a bit. Between that and the way she was looking at him now, he was surprised he could form any coherent thoughts. He managed to sign, Thank you, Detective Makkari. It’s an honor to be your partner-in-crime.
Better than being Star Baker?
Undoubtedly.
She giggled at that, making him smile. As she looked up at him through her eyelashes, Druig found himself transfixed. It was as if nothing else in the world existed outside the two of them. All other thoughts seemed to drop away as he looked at the beautiful woman in front of him, and she looked back. They had begun leaning toward each other from across the small kitchen table as they talked, and Druig thought for a moment Makkari might be leaning even closer.
The ice cream maker dinged, and just as quickly as it had started, the moment had passed. Druig got up, and Makkari quickly followed suit. They sampled their chili mango ice cream, and Druig actually felt his knees buckle under him. As his senses came back to him, he noticed Makkari was laughing at his reaction. So, he leaned into it.
Glorious Makkari, I am defeated, he said, collapsing into a chair.
This made her laugh even harder, but she managed to sign, You, sir, are exaggerating!
Not even a little. I’d give you a handshake, but I can’t possibly get up.
She crossed over to him at that, saying, Well, I have to get my handshake.
Makkari offered him her hand, which he gladly took. And if their handshake lingered a bit longer than necessary, neither commented on it.

🍉🍈🍋🍌🍍
🍉 Do you prefer to write short fics or long fics? Multichaptered works or single ones? Why?
Short fics and oneshots. I will write longer oneshots, but mostly what I publish are short and single chaptered. Writing multichaptered fics is harder for me because I get bogged down and overthink when it comes to longer plots, and/or real life distracts me from writing as much as I want so I don’t update as frequently, and it stresses me out. I can write multichaptered fics, but they’re not my preferred type of story to write.
🍈 Who’s your blorbo and what are some of your favorite headcanons/ideas about them that repeatedly show up in your fics? Free pass to rant about blorbo opinions.
Honestly I do NOT write about some of my blorbos nearly enough but you’ve given me the freedom to run wild and I thank you. Some of these headcanons/ideas might have popped up in fics, some have not.
Tara WicDiv is a lesbian I will NOT give up on this.
Related, she also had a small following of dedicated fans who were fighting for her rights left and right before and after everything that happens in canon, but they were drowned out by all the hate she got. :(
Trevor Belmon was a mama’s boy, the youngest child and only boy of his family, and looked the most like his mom out of all his siblings.
Yataka and Yorunami would have been really good friends if given the chance because they would tolerate each other more than they would any of the other five sho.
Almost all of the Eternals had crushes on Sersi at some point. The only ones who didn’t were Ajak, Sprite, and Phastos. She is everyone’s favourite amongst their family.
War Good Omens is a lesbian.
Famine Good Omens and Franny are both besties and also in love with each other. everyone knows.
not a headcanon but I REALLY like the idea of Sersi/Thena/Gilgamesh as a poly trio. I don’t know where this idea came from but it latched onto me and won’t let go.
Yataka has trauma from his past (beyond the tragic romance with the princess and the thing with his parents) that he will never talk about. I headcanon both parental abuse and sexual trauma, and both lead to his aversion of touch and his germophobia.
🍋 What’s your favorite spicier trope to write?
Not gonna lie I don’t really write spicy stuff. I’ll write kissing but it doesn’t go very far. I have written one heavy makeout scene that I can remember that did result in smut that was short and not offscreen but also not described in depth and it was very embarrassing to write it took me a while to get through it.
🍌 In your opinion, what’s the funniest joke/reference/pun you’ve made in a fic?
This was a hard one but I’m gonna say my XMen First Class fic, this scene, when Marianne is talking to Erik about her “childhood friends to lovers” arc with her husband and the father of her child:
Marianne: We started dating when we were about seventeen years old, although hardly anything changed between us besides kissing and being more affectionate.
Erik: And I assume other things as well since Henry exists.
🍍 What kind of AUs do you like? Are there any AUs you hate or just generally have beef with?
I don’t have a ‘role swap aus are the best aus’ tag for nothing! (see also, my doctor-companion swap au and my prince mononoke au.) I love seeing what is changed, what stays the same, all of that, and how the creator works with or against canon. I’m also a fan of actor aus, specifically ones where canon is just a tv show or movie and canon characters are actors playing their roles, because I like the idea of evil villains just being fun chill people offscreen.
AUs I hate: alpha/beta/omega aus. I’m okay with some of them, ones that are well written, but on a principle I hate them simply because of how the world and society works in these universes.

You’re safe with me (Ajak x F!Reader)
Tumblr media
Look at this! Zaf remembered she has a writing blog! Nice. Anyway, enjoy this little something I did because I love Ajak 💙💛
-------------------------
"Do we have souls?"
The question had taken Ajak by surprise. She knew why Sersi had asked her that, after all, watching humans find their soul mates had become the eternal youth's favorite pastime ever since those damn marks started appearing.
It was something completely out of their control, and even Arishem had no answers for her when she asked. Humans simply woke up one day to realize that they had marks on their bodies, where their soul mates were supposed to touch them when they met.
Arishem had said that they shouldn't worry about something so silly and concentrate on the mission. Ikaris had agreed, but Ajak…Ajak was terrified.
"Yes, Sersi" she smiled kindly "we have souls, just different from theirs"
The girl took a moment to think about it, nodding when she agreed with the answer. The prime eternal silently thanked her for no more questions, as she could feel Ikaris' penetrating gaze on her back.
Ajak dismissed the girl gently but quickly, bringing her hands to her chest for a moment, almost protectively. Ikaris waited until Sersi was gone before coming closer.
"You shouldn't lie to her like that" he said bluntly.
"I didn't lie"
"You didn’t?" he raised an eyebrow "you know as well as I do the reason she asked"
The woman didn't answer, she just nodded. She knew that Sersi hoped that a mark like that would appear on her body as well. She also knew that Ikaris' annoyance stemmed from fear that this was the case and he might lose her. But that wasn't Ajak's business.
"Don't fill her head with false stories" he said
"I didn't lie" she said again, walking away from there.
She could feel the man's gaze burning her back, but she kept her steady pace, refusing to show any sign of weakness in front of him. It didn't matter how much her hands trembled on her chest.
____________________
"Leave her alone!"
Ajak gasped and sat bolt upright on her bed. Her room was completely dark and she could not perceive any call from Arishem. So it had been another nightmare. Great. It was the third that week.
She couldn't even tell when she'd started dreaming about that voice (hell, she didn't even know if she should be dreaming in the first place), she only knew that she'd been waking up after hearing a voice calling for help, a direct blow to the front and a huge empty in her chest for too long. She had to do something.
"I need to get out of here" she mumbled.
She scrambled to her feet and tried not to look too much at the black mark on her chest. This was the reason why she had not lied to Sersi, the reason why she was growing increasingly uncomfortable with Ikaris' comments about human markings.
She didn't know how, or why, but one night, just a few months after the legend of soul mates had begun to emerge, Ajak awoke to find that she herself had one of those marks, a black spot on her chest.
She tried to understand it, she tried to get rid of it with the magic that the celestials granted her and that she rarely used, but nothing had worked, the black stain was still there, tattooed on her skin. And she had been afraid. She was terrified of what that meant, what others might think of her, but more than anything, she was terrified of endangering whoever she was attached to.
"I don't know who you are" she murmured, placing a hand on her chest "but you're better off away from me."
______________________
You ran as fast as you could, no matter how much your legs ached or how your chest burned from running for hours with almost no rest. You had to get out of there.
"First dead before going back there" you thought, forcing yourself to keep going.
You had no idea what you had done to deserve this, but you hated the mark on your face with everything you were. Ever since it had appeared on your 18th birthday, it had only brought trouble after trouble.
Your father had always had plans to sell you to the highest bidder, no matter who it was, if you wanted to or how they treated you, he only cared about the dowry he could get from them. But then that mark had appeared, and his plans had taken certain turns.
He no longer just had to find a good dowry, now he also had to find someone who could erase the mark on your face. Of course, he couldn't think of a better way than to let all the suitors punch you in the face, to see if any of their fists matched the mark on your cheek. It was humiliating, painful, and you were fed up, so you ran away.
It wasn't difficult to untie the ropes from your feet and hands, nor was it hard to get out of the tent. The hard part was outwitting the dogs that guarded your father's camp. Nasty little beasts. It didn't take them long after they noticed your absence to find your trail and it had been a life and death race ever since because you knew your father would have no mercy on you and even if he didn't kill you, what he would allow his men to do with you was much worse.
"Why can't I have a good thing for once?!" you thought angrily
Just for once, you would like someone to defend you, to see you more than as a prize, for someone to realize that you were a person. That someone really loved you.
"Why don't you do something useful and send me my other half, mark of the devil?!"
You heard the dogs getting closer and closer and you tried to pick up your pace, but you were too exhausted, you had to stop, you needed to breathe. But you couldn't, if you stopped, it would all end.
Tears flooded your eyes. You felt helpless, angry, and scared. You weren't even paying attention to where you were going or what was happening around you. You just had to keep going.
________________
Ajak blinked as a hard blow landed on her chest. The impact sent her back a little, but she managed to keep her balance, and her arms instinctively wrapped around whatever she had collided with. Or rather, whoever.
You grunted a little and blinked rapidly, trying to place where you had hit yourself. Your face didn't hurt, so it must have been something soft. You blushed deeply to see that you had, in fact, landed on another woman's chest.
"Are you okay?" Ajak asked, immediately becoming concerned upon seeing your state.
You had the soles of your feet mangled, lots of bruises and scratches, sweat covered your body, your hair was terribly disheveled, and your chest heaved up and down (she scolded herself internally for staring).
"Help me" you said, holding on to her.
Your voice resounded strongly in the ears of the eternal. She knew it, it was the voice that had been in her dreams for Arishem knew how long. She immediately looked down, gasping as the mark on her chest, barely visible by the neckline of her dress, began to fade.
Unfortunately, she didn't have time to process everything when the barking of dogs sounded right behind you and you returned to your survival state, not noticing that the mark on your face also disappeared.
The woman moved almost automatically when she saw the dogs appear, followed by several men. Instinctively she pulled you behind her, shielding you with her body and trying not to tremble at the feel of your warm breath on her neck as you clung to her.
"Leave her alone!" she said, echoing her own phrase from her dream
Some of the men across from her laughed, no doubt dismissing her because she was a female, but more seemed to recognize her (or at least one of her many legends. All the Eternals had inspired much of the human mythologies) and backed off a bit.
"The girl is mine" said an old man, smirking "my brother has given her to me as a wife"
"Please don't let them take me" you whispered
It broke the brunette's heart to hear your broken voice and feel the slight tremor of your hands clinging to her arm. She didn't even know your name, nor had she known you for more than a few minutes, but the emptiness in her chest that little by little began to fill with a warm feeling told her only one thing: you were hers, and she had to protect you.
"I said leave her alone" she said with a firm voice "get out of here while there is still mercy in me"
Your uncle and his closest men laughed at the threat, not noticing how the rest of them scuttled off into the dead of night. Ajak smiled a little as the old man took a step towards you. She didn't always get a chance to display her abilities beyond healing.
You gasped as a golden sphere appeared in the woman's left palm. She didn't even give you time to react as she fired a golden bolt at your uncle's feet, making everyone jump. It was a clear warning, one they definitely got this time.
"I'll say it one last time" she said quietly "get out of here. I claim this girl as mine, she’s under my protection now"
At least the men had half a neuron to know that their lives were really on the line there and that nothing was worth trying. The golden sphere did not disappear from Ajak's hand until all the men had left.
You relaxed a bit, but then your mind turned back on and you recoiled in fear. The older woman sighed, she should have expected that. She raised her hands carefully, in a gesture of peace.
"Calm down, you're safe" she said, her voice as calm as she could manage.
"Get away from me" you said "what are you?!"
"I will not hurt you"
"Yes, of course, and I'm going to believe you"
"I just saved you, didn't I?"
You opened your mouth to reply, but nothing occurred to you. She was right and you knew it. She had saved you, she had protected you from a pack of wild men you knew very well would not have waited to get to camp to use you and hurt you. You really owed her a little trust.
"What are you?" you asked again
"That doesn't matter right now" she replied, walking slowly and tentatively towards you "there will be time to explain everything, but I have to get you out of here"
"Why would I go with you?" you said "for all I know you could have saved me to sell me yourself"
Ajak stopped in her path, not knowing why your words pierced her chest. She didn't know you, she didn't know where you came from, who you were, your story, nothing. Damn, she didn't even know where she meant to take you.
The others would ask who you were and she wasn't going to risk that Ikaris could do anything to you (she trusted him with her life, but Arishem knew that sometimes he could be…intense). But she couldn't fight with that force that tied her to you either. Suddenly, having you by her side, and gaining your trust, had become a necessity.
"Your mark is gone" she said simply
You blinked, not expecting that answer. Ajak gave you a few moments to take it in before walking back towards you. At least it worked a little bit because you stopped walking away from her.
"I-...w-what do you mean...it's gone?"
The woman nodded and ripped off one of the jade ornaments that Sersi had insisted on including in her dress (she would thank her later), offering it to you as a makeshift mirror.
You looked at yourself fearfully, and although the stone did not reflect your features exactly well, it was enough for you to notice that she was telling the truth, your face was clean, without traces of the mark that had cursed you for so many years.
"But when?" you muttered, more to yourself than to her "...the crash" you suddenly said
Ajak just nodded again. She knew that you would need a moment to process everything as well. She gingerly moved closer and allowed herself to admire your features as you lost yourself in thought.
You were beautiful, you had a light in your eyes that the eternal had not seen in a human in a long time. Your hands were trembling and covered with new scars and wounds, but they seemed precious to her. You were a little taller than her, but you still looked so small and fragile.
Everything about you aroused a desire for protection in her and a feeling so human that she didn't think it was for her. You must have felt her gaze because you raised your head and blushed deeply.
"Then you..."
"I'll protect you" she said "you're safe with me" she promised you
You nodded slowly, staring at the piece of jade in your hand for a moment longer before handing it back to her with trembling hands. Her fingers brushed against yours as she took it, sending an electric current through both of you.
"...who are you?" you asked, trying to catch up on everything that had happened in the last half hour.
Ajak smiled at the subtle change in your question. You didn't seem scared of her anymore, just confused and a little…impressed? The first was understandable, the second filled her with pride.
"Ajak" she said softly, almost as if her name was only meant for your ears.
You looked into her eyes, noticing for the first time the depth of her gaze and how it seemed that time and life were hidden in them. You took a deep breath, ignored the butterflies in your stomach, and offered her a sheepish smile.
"Y/N" you said, offering her your hand.
The woman returned your smile and carefully took your hand, bringing it to her lips instead of just shaking it.
"A pleasure to finally find you, my Y/N" she said before kissing your hand softly, making you blush and your legs go weak.

We need more fake wedding/engagement AU pls ♥️
"Hey."
"Hey," Gil looked up, surprised by the soft voice and the silent steps padding into the kitchen. He pulled up his piping bag from making little rosettes of whipped potatoes. "What are you doing up?"
It had been yet another long day, and even longer than most. Ajak had required Gil to make a slew of appetizers for the engagement party she was insisting on hosting for them. He had agreed, of course, because it made sense.
Thena had expressed her worry over him slaving away in the kitchen for a party supposedly in his honour; couldn't they just get it catered? He said it was sweet, but he was happy to cook for it, and he would have plenty of time to prepare everything, so it wasn't like he would be too stressed about it.
It was only a partial lie, and it only satisfied Thena partially anyway.
She then spent all day helping Ajak plan the layout for the party in the expansive 'back yard' of the property, including their little section of beach. Ajak had the best eye for decoration, but Thena was a master planner. She had every square inch optimised and every minute accounted for while Sersi and Makkari focused on the guest list and aesthetic for the party.
They had both reconvened at the dinner table, swaying from the fatigue of the day. Thena had even excused herself earlier than normal to get some sleep.
"Are you still preparing for the party?" Thena asked, ignoring his question about why she was up. She walked closer, pulling her cardigan around herself. She wore a cardigan because it was cold but preferred the silence she could achieve with bare feet?
"I'm almost done," he smiled, piping his last few dollops of Duchess potatoes. "These just need to set, and then tomorrow I'll bake them with a butter bath and a little cheese so they can be served hot."
Thena drifted around the side of the table to him, similar to how she had hovered the day of the sandwich making--a day which neither of them had mentioned, but did it ever stick out in his mind.
He could never forget the feeling of her lips at the corner of his. Although he could also never forget the look on his mom's face when they both realised she was still in the room to witness their little moment. He had been embarrassed, sure, but Thena had all but run out of the room, barely looking at either of them for the rest of the night. She looked cute all flustered, though.
Thena watched him as he worked. "You're working awfully tirelessly for a party that should be for you."
He smiled at her, squeezing out the last bit of potato. "For us!--and besides, I don't mind."
"You keep saying that."
He couldn't help but be a little surprised. He hadn't expected her to voice a kind of defensiveness in his name. He shrugged, "I dunno, I'm used to it."
She tilted her head at him (cutely).
"I've always done stuff like this," he supplied easily as he finally set down his piping bag and looked at the three trays of apps he had finished. "Don't get me wrong, mom's a great cook, but stuff like this...I did do catering before I started at the company."
Thena also eyed his bounty, including all the dishes left from it. "Most caterers have entire teams to assist them, too."
He shrugged again, somewhat more sheepishly. "I guess, but honestly, hiring a caterer is more trouble than it's worth. At least I know what we all like, what we don't, that kind of thing. I know Sersi is allergic to buckwheat, I know Kari doesn't really like meat even if she's not totally vegetarian. I know Druig is picky with textures and I know you hate seafood."
Thena rolled her eyes at him.
He chuckled, though, picking up his tray and getting ready to load up the fridge even more. He smiled as Thena pulled the door open for him. "It's something I can do to take care of my family, y'know? Mom has done so much for us our whole lives."
And his father had done absolutely jack-shit for them.
"I wanna do whatever I can to help out," he concluded as she helped him load the last tray. The rest of the fridge was already stuffed with cheese appetizers, puff pastries to be baked, fruits that needed carving, and plenty else.
He turned and stretched with a groan. He was far from done, "I'll be up soon, don't worry. I just gotta finish these-"
"Leave them." He looked down at Thena, but she stared right back at him, arms crossed around her. "Leave the dishes for tomorrow."
He looked around the kitchen; it was pretty disastrous, and he didn't want to imagine what it would be like if his mother's kitchen weren't so massive. "The sink's totally full, not to mention the dishwasher. I can't-"
"It's not as if anyone will be using the kitchen for themselves tomorrow anyway," she shook her head, even pulling him by the hand. "They can wait until tomorrow, Gil."
"But-" he floundered, although he wasn't trying all that hard to escape the grasp of her very cold, very delicate hand. He looked down at the hand, and then at her bare feet again. "Thena, you're freezing--seriously, why aren't you in bed?"
She didn't answer him, still pulling him with her to their shared guest room.
"Were you cold?" he asked, and he had a feeling he was getting warmer (no pun intended). He tilted his head to try and get a better look at her, "is it too big? I told mom we didn't need a king sized bed."
"Just come to bed, Gilgamesh."
He grinned; she couldn't sleep without him.
He could admit just to himself that he had also gotten used to sleeping with her. After the general horror of sleeping with his best friend in a partial state of undress wore off, he had to admit, it was comfy. They fit together well, he gave off enough warmth for the both of them, and Thena would naturally wake him up by running her fingers through his hair.
Neither of them had mentioned that either, but he had a feeling she liked cuddling too.
"Fine," he conceded, yawning as he trudged up the stairs. "But I'm being a bad chef by leaving all that sitting there."
"I'm sure the code of conduct will forgive you," she drawled, finally bringing him into the room. She hadn't even closed the door behind her. She really did get up just to bring him to bed with her.
Gil sighed as he sat down on the edge of the bed. He was more tired than he thought he was.
"Get changed and lie down, Gil. Don't worry about the dishes."
Well, if she was going to tempt him with that lovely voice she had. He grumbled, hauling himself up and to the bathroom adjoining their room. Now that he was in the comfort of the familiar space, he felt how exhausted he was. Maybe she was right, he should ask for more help with stuff like this.
The dishes did get done, though. By the time he came downstairs the next morning to ask why she had gotten up so early, Thena had done every single one of them.

I watched Wednesday when it came out, I watched the TikTok’s, read the tumblr posts, and I gotta say… Is this twilight all over again?
Now I have my favorite ships, my least favorite ships, but I don’t like the whole Team Tyler vs Team Xavier. Did we not learn anything from Twilight? When I was talking to a friend, they brought it up and I agreed.
Keep in mind that I am asexual, I love Xavier, and I have been watching Addams family content since I was a little kid. I had a massive crush on Wednesday when I was little and saw us as alike. Hell I dressed up as her for an entire month before my mom told me to stop.
Wednesday has always made me feel seen as someone who is confused when it came to emotions because that’s what she is, confused about certain emotions. She feels the need to conceal them to the point where she is numb. Which is part of why I hate this “THIS SHIP HAS TO BE ENDGAME.” Like no. I’ve seen Endgame. Not a great thing tbh. Jokes aside, I don’t want Wednesday to date at all. She feels good as a stand alone character. Having Enid as her soulmate is possible but she is at best a demiromantic. I don’t think she even liked Tyler romantically but was curious.
Continuing this, I like Tyler with Xavier if either HAS to be with someone. They are both insanely misogynistic and feel like Wednesday owes them and it felt like, in one scene, that Tyler was basically calling her stupid not seeing his hints.
Now I love Xavier. I’m actually writing a fanfiction with my own OC but I will say that despite the fact I think he is great, he doesn’t love Wednesday. Nor does Tyler. Tyler made me feel like he was trying to win something. (Love him still though). Xavier made me feel like he was owed Wednesday’s love. Especially when he got all pissy at the Dance scene.
I like Enid and Ajax together. They are really sweet and anyone who complains about how “Enid is lesbian!” Enid is Pansexual and so is Ajak (both are headcanons but I see it a lot).
Now that my complaining is out of the way: my actual headcanons
Tyler is closeted homophobic bisexual leaning towards girls.
Xavier reads as someone who has a homophobic father but is bisexual.
Wednesday is Demiromantic Asexual but still figuring herself out
Enid doesn’t like labels but will say she is under the pan umbrella
Ajax would agree
Bianca is a siren plus her mother feels homophobic but still a siren so genderfluid pansexual
And Yoko is Asexual Lesbian/Pan with a preference for girls :)
All in all, this is a silly show with fictional characters. I would be annoyed if Wednesday started dating Xavier but it is ultimately not my decision.

you don't have anyone to go to prom with, so i volunteer, but we end up ditching early, instead driving around town, stopping for some cheap burgers and incredible sights with Druig (solo)
CUTE! I love this one, thanks @ftrmrs-barry-keoghan
Starry Night Shakes
Summary: Your Senior Prom doesn't go as planned, but that doesn't stop you and your childhood best friend from having a great night together
Tumblr media
Warnings: Fluff
------------------------------------------
"Come on, don't you wanna go to your prom? Your senior prom?"
"Yeah I do, but not alone,"
You were sitting across from Druig, your childhood best friend and fellow Senior. Your senior prom was around the corner, the entire school was buzzing for weeks and weeks on end on who's going with who. Sure, it would be exciting to go to the prom since it was your last year in high school, but it also meant that you were going to have to clean yourself up, get into a dress.
But most importantly, getting a date.
The friend group you were in were all paired off already. Sersi had her perfect boyfriend Ikaris, Phastos had his boyfriend Ben, Kingo asked out a cheerleader, Gilgamesh and Thena were going as friends, and Makkari was asked by one of the football players. Sprite wasn't allowed to go since she was a freshman, and Ajak was already in college, volunteering to be the Designated Driver if it was needed.
It left you and Druig without dates, which made Druig bring up the topic during your weekly coffee meet up. You two would meet on Sundays, every week right at noon, to study and vent to one another. You've had this tradition since your freshman year, and you never one missed a coffee date unless it was a dire emergency.
Now, with Prom two weeks away, Druig was making you think about it as you took a long drink from your hot coffee.
"You couldn't find a date?" Druig asked in genuine curiosity. You shrugged and shook your head.
"Nope, and there's not one decent to go with anyways. Most of the guys who are left are too.....weird,"
Druig chuckled as you raised an eyebrow at him, "What about you? No girls you wanna ask?"
"Not one girl has been worthy of my time," He hummed, you giggling as he say it playfully.
"Too bad Makkari was taken already," You teased, though Druig glared at you.
"She and I are friends, remember?" He reminded you, you chuckled and he paused. His eyes were drilling into your as you were fiddling with your napkin, not paying attention to him as he spoke again, "Wanna go together?"
Together? You and Druig?
You never thought of that one before. It was a simple suggestion, but it more than that with how you paused and looked up at him. You've known Druig since you were 6 years old, the pair of your becoming friends in Kindergarten. You two stayed tight ever since, always seeking out each other in times of need and in times of happiness. The friend group you were in grew because of the pair of you: You bringing Thena, Ajak, and Kingo to meet Druig. Druig brought Makkari and Phastos with him.
Druig was your best friend, he knew everything about you and how you ticked. He picked you up after shitty dates and bad breakups, driving you around town in his car and letting you vent until the wee hours of the morning. He came to your grandmothers funeral since he knew it was going to be hard for you. Druig was your anchor and better half.
Maybe prom with him was not a bad idea at all.
"You wanna go with me?" You asked, almost in disbelief. Druig softly smiled and nodded slowly.
"It'll be fun together. Plus, we can go and make up of the popular kids," He reasoned, you grinning as he chuckled. You did think of it being fun with Druig, he was never one to take anything like prom seriously. He too was a loner like you, preferring to reading books or listening to his rock music than going to pep rally's or football games. So to hear he wanted to go to prom, and with you, it shocked you. But then again...
"Why not?" You replied in a shrug, thinking that you saw a flicker of light go across his eyes from your accepting his offer.
--------------------------------------------------
"This is an amazing burger,"
Druig smirked at you as you took another big bite from your burger, almost moaning from the taste hitting your tongue and sighing in relief. You were starving, and the dress you were in was not helping either. Who knew if the others were still dancing away at the GYM and having the best night. Good for them. But for your and Druig, it was the opposite
Prom was a bust.
The entire group pooled their money together to rent a limo, meeting at Phastos's house for pictures. You played along with getting a dress, going shopping with Makkari, Sersi, Ajak and Thena the day after Druig asked you to prom. The girls gave you playful looks, but they were harmless as you explained that you were only going as friends.
Sure, Makkari signed to you, sticking her tongue at you.
You opted for a dark blue dress with silver shoes, your hair in loose curls and around your shoulders. Seris helped with your hair as Thena did your make-up the girls getting together at Seri's house to get dolled up. Once you were ready, you met at Phastos's house and with the guys. They each looked handsome, dressed in tuxes with tie colors to match their date.
Your eyes went to Druig, seeing him in a black dress shirt and pants with a thin dark blue tie and a black tuxedo jacket. His hair was combed over, styled with a hint of gel, and he looked clean shaven. You couldn't lie, he looked very handsome. And the way he looked at you, he might of thought you looked good too.
Once you piled into the limo and made it to the school GYM, the group was excited and ready for a fun night. It was only yourself and Druig that seemed somewhat amused by it, but you two played along just fine.
Yet when you went into the GYM, neither of you lasted more than 30 minutes.
Druig called Ajak and asked her to pick the pair of you up, Druig taking your hand and you two snuck out to the back to find Ajak. The others were dancing away, not bothering to see that you two were escaping the prom. Ajak gave you two a knowing look as you got into the car.
"You got bored that quick?" She asked, the pair of you giggling.
She took you back to Druig's house, dropping you off with a wave of her hand as Druig got the keys to his car. He then drove you both around town, already talking about the prom and what was ridiculous about it. You both were roaring in laughter at some of the things you saw in the GYM, at certain popular couples that looked like pornstars, and at the teachers who were chaperones.
Finally, Druig took you to In-N-Out, seeing the tall tell signs of you being hungry.
Now it was nearly 11:30 at night, the pair of your sitting on the hood of his car, with two fries, two chocolate milkshakes and double double burgers between you. Your hair was up in a loose bun, you no longer wanting to maintain it, and you switched your heels for flats. Druig dropped his tuxedo jacket, shirt and tie at his house, staying in a black shirt and pants with his boots and throwing on his infamous leather jacket.
"This is better," He hummed to you as he ate some fries, "Better than the salads they were going to serve,"
"I blame the cheerleaders and their skinny bodies," You grumbled, Druig laughing from your remark. You took another bite from your burger, feeling a gust of wind come through fast and hard. It made your shiver, still wearing your dress and not bothering to change out of it yet. Druig saw you shiver, then shrugged off his jacket.
"Here," he said, placing it over your shoulders before you could protest. You felt the warm hit your skin, the small musky scent of his cologne or maybe it aftershave, and the softness of the leather against your arms and neck.
Slowly and with a hint of shyness, you looked over at Druig, watching him in his thin shirt and his soft smile on your face.
"Thank you," You hummed to him, you voice sounding light and almost shy. Druig grinned as you placed your head on his shoulder, his arm around your waist while you finished your meal together.
You never thought your prom was going to end up with your best friend, sitting on the hood of his car and eating burgers in your dress. But you'd rather have this than be in a sweaty gym. You'd rather be here with Druig, your better half, and feeling that fluttering under your skin from wearing his jacket.
This was better, much better.
The End.
