BEING UNDERCOVER AS A MARRIED COUPLE WITH AGENT WHISKEY - HEADCANONS ✨

Agent Whiskey (Jack Daniels) x f!reader

A/N: my passion for our cowboy is back at its fullest 😭

• the whole reason why you and whiskey were paired up for this mission as a fake married couple is because everyone can see the ✨ sparks ✨ between you two

• even when you were brand new at Statesman and whiskey was the senior agent who was responsible for training the new class of agents you were in, you two had already developed a soft spot for each other

• he liked how pretty and skilled you were, smart and you seemed to carry out any task effortlessly because you were so good at it he could swear you were born to be an agent

• and you never knew you were into cowboys until you met that one cowboy, he was professional but he was also such a sweet southern gentleman and since the first time he called you sugar, you felt your heart beating faster

• but you and Jack weren't paired up in missions a lot, whereas you were still gaining experience, Champ assigned Whiskey for bigger and more dangerous missions due to his experience

• no wonder he had the title of senior agent after all

• so when the opportunity of you two go on a mission together appeared, you were both excited, he saw in your a beautiful and lovely friend, of course he would like to have something more maybe, but he assumed you wouldn't want to go with an older man like him

• however, you wanted nothing more than that cowboy paying attention to you in another way, so when you heard you two would play a married role, you couldn't hide your excitement

• when you two got to the hotel, you and Jack realized you'd share a room, to which you were both shy at first, but you figured it would be such a cool experience

• he's a gentleman so he will totally offer you the bed while he takes the couch, but you would say no, after all, you don't want your cowboy screwing up his back, besides, the bed is big enough for the two of you

• you also have the conversation about limits and what's off limits; if you are undercover as a couple there's gotta be some level of PDA and Jack wants to know how far he can go without making you uncomfortable

• he will definitely not flirt with women let alone sleep with them while on the mission, he knows your relationship is fake but he won't ever disrespect you that way

• your first kiss happens when you two are by the pool, you are both eying the target and for that, you need to act as natural as possible - for a loving couple, at least - so you sit on his lap and peck his lips

• it takes the cowboy off guard; he wasn't expecting it at all, but when it happens he's suddenly hooked

• so he kisses you again, his big hands grip your body and you two end up making out by accident, losing focus a little but at least your target can't say you two don't look like a real couple

• sharing beds with Jack while on mission feels good, he's respectful and he keeps on his side of the bed, but for some reason you always wake up tangled in his arms

• neither of you comment on it, but you two enjoy it

• late at night conversations, after you finished briefing details and plans for the mission is also a part you cherish

• you get to know each other on a deeper level and that was how he told you about the loss of his first wife

• Jack hates when people pity him because of that, but when you wrap your arms around him and rest your head against his chest, he sees you aren't pitying him, you are supporting him

• he appreciates how you're not nosey and won't ask too much about it, it makes him feel relieved because even if he was able to tell you, going further into that subject isn't a rabbit hole he likes going down

• and you don't pressure him because you know that if he wants to tell you, he will eventually, so you just snuggle him

• as the mission progresses you realize how attached to Whiskey you are getting and even if he doesn't say anything, he is feeling the same way, to the point he grows more and more protective and if the slightest thing threatens your safety that cowboy goes nuts

• you and him continue kissing here and there, but each time more the little pecks on the lips disappear and the deep, passionate kisses take place

• but it doesn't stop only there, whenever you are around the target, he gives you neck kisses, soft little bites and you love touching his back and his chest

• you always end up wet at the end of these sessions, the need for him grows bigger each day

• until one night you and Jack can't hold it, what was supposed to be just another PDA scene around the target so they won't be suspicious, evolves into a makeout session in the elevator and it's taken to the bedroom

• that night you can't hold back, you both end up having sex and it was the best one you had in a long time

• in the morning, neither of you regret it, but you come to an agreement that you won't do it again

• only for you two sleep together once more the next night

• so you two decide to enjoy your time together and have a casual relationship for as long as the mission goes on, investigating by day and fucking by night

• it works perfectly until the mission is coming to an end, and when you are packing your bags to leave, you realize how emotional you are, you don't want to let go of Jack and be alone again

• and he doesn't want you to say goodbye either, so he decides to invite you for a weekend at his ranch so you both can spend some time relaxing and enjoying each other's company without having to hide anything

• and a weekend turns into a whole week of passion and new feelings

• after the success of your mission, you and Jack were paired up more often together, until you stepped out of it after finding out you were pregnant with his baby

• so he decided to do the honorable thing and turn you into his real wife instead of his fake one

• you moved into his ranch and you couldn't believe how happy someone could actually be, as you and your cowboy started out as a fake couple and now you were a real one, a real family, with your precious Daniels baby and all the love you felt for each other 💖

character/universe: agent jack "whiskey" daniels (kingsman: the golden circle) warning/s: full-on smut, read at your own caution notes: first time writing smut, so i'm not yet comfortable writing a full fanfic/imagine about smut, but this definitely helped me to write more. hope you enjoy reading!

Agent Whiskey is one heck of a man and lover. He can be rowdy and rough but shows his romantic and passionate side.

Jack loves putting on his cowboy hat whenever you have sex. Quickie or not, this man won't let go of his hat. (Save a horse, ride a cowboy).

Agent Whiskey Hobbies Headcanons

🤠 Jack loves to cook. He was taught by his mom, who was taught by her mother. He knows a lot of recipes that have been passed down through his family. This does mean he can get territorial in the kitchen, though.

🤠 Although Jack loves a good movie, TV really isn't his thing. Something would have to be of particular interest to him to watch. It mostly comes down to not having the time to watch something each week, or binge on a streaming platform.

🤠 Jack prefers to relax with a good book. His favorites are historial non-fiction, horror - particularly ghost stories, and mysteries. He hates spy novels. Those authors don't know shit.

🤠 When he was younger one of his favorite things to do was go out riding with his grandpa. They'd be gone for hours and Jack misses him a lot. Whenever he gets to chance to ride, he takes it, and it always makes him think of his grandpa.

🤠 Jack wasn't particularly close to his father, but one of the things they always did together was work on his dad's classic Bronco. That was the whole reason he got one the first chance he got when he joined Statesman. Some of the few happy memories of his dad involve working in silence in the garage and he still prefers to work on his own car than hand it over to the tech team.

🤠 Jack loves to sing. He can't sing and he knows it, but he doesn't let that stop him. Jack firmly believes that confidence can overcome any lack of talent.

🤠 While he's not as young as he used to be Jack still loves a good rodeo. He knows damn well he can't ride the bull as well anymore, but that doesn't stop him from leaping on every mechanical one he sees at events and in bars.

🤠 He used to know how to play the guitar when he was a teenager and had used it to help woo his girl. But when she died, he could bring himself to play again. Recently, however, he's been plucking at it again and likes to sit on his back porch while he relearns.

🤠 Jack is a water baby and loves to swim. Sea, lakes or pools. He doesn't care and just loves the freeing feeling of being in the water.

🤠 One of the things that Jack really enjoys is a long walk. He's lucky enough to live on a large parcel of land but also loves exploring whenever he's not home. He'd roll his eyes if you call it hiking as that conjures something more structured in his head. "It's a walk sugar, it don't need a special name."

Can I request a headcanon for how good or bad each of the Pedro character are at helping around the house? I'm thinking Marcus Pike is great with chores but probably can't cook (I always remember him eating takeout or diner food in the show) and Max Philips definitely hires a cleaning service.

Helping Around The House:

Javier: Did you see how clean his apartment could be? This man helps out. He’s not the typical bachelor slob and that transfers over into a relationships. Come on? That toothbrush cup and his razor was neatly placed on the little mirror ledge. However, he does NOT cook. You don’t want him to. This man burned water, literally started reading a report and boiled all the water out of the pot and scorched it. But he won’t complain about a hot dog if you really don’t cook either.

Ezra: Ummmm, you guys don’t have much. Your pod is nice and neat, but thats by necessity. There’s not a whole hell of a lot that you carry that isn’t for survival, so there isn’t a lot of mess. However, he does set up the camp marvelously efficiently. Cooking isn’t any better either. Those Nutri packs or bars is about as fancy as it gets when you are roughing it out on the Green.

Mando: Mando is....militaristic. Everything has a place but beyond the neatly organized weapons locker, he’s not exactly domestic? Like meals are broths or packaged meals. The Crest has cargo containers with stuff, but it’s all organized so he knows exactly where everything is when he needs it. It’s more about you staying out of things than anything else honestly. At least at the beginning. You start bringing things in the ship, making him sigh and start reorganizing to find a place for it. Although he was really upset when the Crest was destroyed because you lost all your stuff.

Frankie: He was in the military. The man knows how to keep an area clean. Things are not white glove clean since the baby, but he helps out. There's not really a chore list between the two of you. It’s just more of a ‘if it needs doing at that moment, do it’ type of attitude. He’s not going to ignore a full dishwasher or dryer because that’s ‘your’ chore. Although all the small fix it type chores around the house are his. He doesn’t trust you not to lose his tools. 😂

Tovar: You are kidding right? He is a man, his job is to provide for you. Your job is to take what he’s provided and turn it into a warm and welcoming home for him. It’s the time of course that lends him to adhere to this ideal of what the roles are. HOWEVER...this man also chops the wood and hauls the water, literally builds the house, breaks the ground for the garden every spring, and takes care of the hunting the meat. It’s not that he doesn’t help you, it’s more that you each play your roles very well and they compliment each other.

Agent Whiskey: Jack absolutely hires a cleaning service. He’s never home. Always away on missions. And when he is home, he wants to spend every moment he can with his sugar, not worrying about cleaning a house. He has someone come in every couple of days to take care of the cleaning so you don’t have to worry about. Although, when he’s home, Jack will fire up the grill to make you a mean ribeye to go with that bottle of Statesman.

Max Phillips: Cleaning service. You really think he’s going to clean up all that blood? Although it’s more that he turned the cleaning lady into a vampire. Hasn’t cooked since he's become a vampire, so you are on your own with that. Just, dear God, go easy on the garlic. That shit stinks.

Marcus Pike: Of course Marcus will help. He’s going to assist any way that he can, maybe take on the chores that you hate the most because it will make you happy. Chore chart? Would that make it easier? Whatever it is, he’s in this 50/50. Although....he can order a mean take out, he cannot cook - bless him. Maybe a cooking lesson as a date night?

Oberyn: Chores? Things around the castle? That’s the servants responsibilities. Your job it so be by his side and his job is to do a lot of things, but none of them require either one of you to worry about washing clothes or preparing food. Your days of thinking you will live a hard life breaking your back for some shit lord are over.

Dave York: He takes the trash out. When he’s in town. Honestly, with his schedule, he knows that a lot of the day to day gets put on your shoulders. He appreciates that, so when he is home on the weekends, he gives the girls strict instructions that they aren’t to bother you with anything, Mr. Mom mode is activated. It’s the least he can do for you holding down the fort while he was out being sexy murder daddy.

Zach: What are you talking about? You barely do anything. Zach is so damn proud of having a roof over his head, he’s going to be hard pressed to let you do anything. Seriously. He loves the fact that he has a place to clean and chores to do in order to maintain a home. It takes a little while and a few arguments to get him to relinquish the almost iron grip he has over the household cleaning.

Marcus Moreno: He’s honesty relieved to have a little help with the household chores to be honest. Missy has her chores, but he’s so very happy to have help with cooking and just the general cleaning of the house. Just tell him how to you want to pitch in and he will make sure that he tells you how much he appreciates it.

Max Lord: To be honest, Max isn’t present even when he’s at home. He’s in his home office, working, burying his head in paperwork to find that dream stone. His dreams for you, for Alistair hinge on him finding that artifact and making sure that he has everything he’s ever wanted, and that he can give you the world. Sitting in his paper littered office, he doesn’t understand that you want him to help now, with the little things. Taking out the trash is more important that the riches he seeks in your eyes. He just can’t see it.

Javi G: Javi doesn’t clean. Not because he’s an ass, but that is what they have hired people to do. He doesn’t make intentional messes, he cleans up after himself and he doesn’t leave his clothes scattered floor everywhere, but it’s just not on his radar to do chores. However, he does clean his memorabilia room himself. Does that count?

Dieter: Cleaning??? The only cleaning this man does is when he cuts neat little lines in his cocaine to snort up. He’s living in hotels most of the year and then when he’s home, he’s got the most amazing housekeeper at his house in Sherman Oaks. She comes in everyday and is witness to what a messy slob Dieter can be. This man child is absolutely useless with domesticity.

"She said to back off." Joel glared at the obviously drunk man trying to buy you a drink and touch you in the most inappropriate of ways. Joel's eyes didn't look angry, but it left an I'll-take-this-butter-knife-and-slice-your-throat-with-it kind of impression. "And what're you gonna do, old man?" Joel didn't like that disrespecting tone he had. He took the butter knife and stabbed it on the bar counter. Right between the man's fingers. "Trust me, you don't wanna find out."

Agent Whiskey

"Now that is no way to treat a lady." Whiskey appeared behind you, his hand on your lower back to tell you he's got you. There's no need to be scared anymore. He somehow managed to calm the guy down with his silver-tongue, or so he thought. The drunken man turned around to smash his beer bottle on Whiskey's head, but Whiskey's fast reflexes caught the bottle safely in his hand without breaking it. The man was soon escorted out of the bar. "What do you say we go have some real fun, darlin'?"

Bucky Barnes

Bucky'd been watching the guy for a hot minute. He's had his suspicions, saw how he eyed women, picked a target, and the moment he approached you, Bucky knew he had to do something. He didn't even let the guy come close to you. Bucky just stood there, stopping him, with the deadliest glare anyone's ever seen. He didn't need to say anything, the guy knew to back off. Bucky then went to stand next to you, finally having the courage to start a conversation. And maybe buy you a drink.

Miguel O'Hara

The drunk man had his arm around you despite you pushing him away. He was much bigger than you, and he was putting most of his weight on you. The man almost touched your face, and Miguel finally arrived at the bar, webbing the man's hand onto the counter. He towered over the drunk man, and there was an ominous silence. "I'm sorry I'm late." Miguel apologized to you. "Why don't we go somewhere else, princesa?" "But-" "Wait for me outside," Miguel urged you. "I need to take care of something real quick."

Marc Spector

Marc was enjoying his own drink when he noticed you being bothered by an unwelcome drunk man. He was way older than you, and clearly disrespecting you by waving his money around. He was creating a scene as it is, and Marc really just wanted a quiet night, for once. Marc made his way across to where the drunk man was, and sat down next to him. Suspiciously close. "Can I help you with somethin'?" He asked, eyebrows raised. Marc looked at your very uncomfortable face and moved you behind him. "Yea, why don't you head out for now? It's getting late." The man scoffs and spits his beer in Marc's face. The man was laughing, but everyone in the bar wasn't. They might be fugitives, gang members, or even active criminals, but one thing's for sure, you don't mess with Marc Spector.

Pairing: Statesman Agent Marcus Moreno x Statesman Agent Reader x Agent Jack "Whiskey" Daniels

What’s this? Pat’s writing fanfic now? Well… no, not exactly. 😅 Consider this a loose concept for a fic that I’d want to write if I had a knack for writing, inspired solely by Pedro’s Emmy’s look. As soon as I saw it, it reminded me of Marcus Moreno and the costumes from the Kingsman movies. My brain’s been unable to think about anything else for the last couple days so I'm hoping that setting some of my headcanons free will help free up some brain space haha

Not really any warnings, it’s all pretty brief anyway. Highlights include: pining/unspoken feelings, fake dating, a love triangle dynamic that evolves into polyamory. The Boys keep their canon backstories for the most part. Reader is gender neutral.

The set up:

After sustaining an injury during his last mission, Heroic-turned-Statesman agent Marcus Moreno finds himself on temporary desk duty. He’s promised his daughter that he’ll stay out of harm’s way until he fully recovers. Desperately needing to feel useful while stuck behind the scenes, he's excited to receive his next assignment - as your new handler.

You have been a Statesman field agent for a few years now and have gone through your fair share of handlers - this isn’t your first rodeo. Nonetheless you appreciate Marcus’s unique experience and perspective as a former superhero. He’s kind, patient, and respectful, and the two of you become close rather quickly (while still keeping things professional).

While you’re away on missions, Marcus spends most of his time with Ginger, monitoring mission statuses and tech needs. His powers and weapons knowledge make him a good fit for the tech specialist team. Marcus and Ginger get along so well that their coworkers begin to joke that Ginger is his work wife. And yeah, they’re good friends, but she’s seen how he gets when you’re gone, steadfastly studying the wall of screens. He only has eyes for you.

Eventually, you get assigned to an undercover mission where you’ll be posing as one half of a romantic couple. Your lucky partner? One Jack “Whiskey” Daniels. You’ve worked with Jack a couple times before and while you find him to be a bit much sometimes, he’s charming and thoughtful under all the bluster.

Marcus, on the other hand, is apprehensive. He hasn’t met Jack yet but he’s heard the gossip around HQ about our flirty, larger-than-life cowboy. Ginger’s not-exactly-glowing comments about him certainly don’t help either, but she assures Marcus it’ll be fine.

Cue the mission with all its potential for tension and pining:

from Marcus having to watch the person he secretly has feelings for “fall in love” with someone else. Seeing the mission unfold and realizing that Jack’s not quite what his reputation suggests

to you actually slowly falling for Jack throughout the course of the mission (because it’s a fake dating story after all) but also having Marcus’s voice low and steady in your ear, always reminding you of his presence and the task at hand

to Jack knowing this is a fake arrangement (and that you and Marcus kinda sorta have a “thing” going) but wanting it to be real anyway, feeling his heart stirring for the first time in a very long time.

And obviously there’d be all the classic tropes. Couple practice. First kisses. One bed. A fancy gala. You know.

Maybe at one point, Jack becomes briefly incapacitated and Marcus has to step in and take his place for a moment to keep up ✨the ruse✨ Because they do look awfully similar from afar and who’s gonna notice really...

Something something the bond between two men, who’ve both experienced the loss of their previous partners, unexpectedly finding new love. The both of them witnessing the lengths the other is willing to go to to protect that love.

And then eventually the three of them work it all out and get together and fuck nasty. the end :)

A/N: This can be read as a gender neutral reader, except for a mention of pregnancy in letter "L", which is why it's tagged as afab. If there's anything implying a female-presenting reader that I missed, please don't hesitate to message me and I'll fix it! Also I didn’t do the letter “B” because I got lazy but the rest of the alphabet is there.

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Jack loves touch. He always wants to be touching you, a hand on the small of your back or drawing little shapes with his fingers on your leg as you sit together. He’s into PDA—maybe too much. At work, he’ll sometimes rest his hand on your thigh during a meeting…you try to give him a warning look, but that grin on his face has too much influence on you, so you let it slide. When he wants to make out with you every time he sees you in the hallway…well, that’s when you have to put your foot down. Even if you two are sitting together at home working, he wants to be touching you in some way. He’ll cross one of his legs over yours on the couch or you’ll put your feet on his lap.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

He’s opposed to you calling it “cuddling” but, yes, he loves to cuddle. After a rough mission or a long day of paperwork, there’s nothing he wants more than to curl up with you next to the fire or in bed. Jack will very often fall asleep while cuddling, but you can’t blame him. You’re just as comfortable wrapped around him as he is with you.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

Oh my god, yes. Despite the womanizer exterior, Jack is a huge softie inside. All he really wants is to grow old with you at his ranch surrounding by kids and grandkids and great-grandkids and–

The first time he cooks for you, it’s in his New York apartment. You’re prepared with the number for the pizza place down the street in anticipation of his burning the kitchen down, but to your surprise, it's one of the best meals you've ever had. True to form, however, he’s a meat and potatoes kind of guy. The first meal he ever cooks for you is a steak dinner with mashed potatoes, green beans, and homemade gravy. You almost point out how stereotypical it is that your first home-cooked meal from a cowboy is steak and potatoes, but you keep it to yourself because the dinner is so good. He makes variations on it for your anniversaries, incorporating recipes from your side of the family over time.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

Whiskey doesn’t break up. He’s snuck out on some one night stands before, but once he’s in it for real, you better believe it’s ‘til death do us part.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

Once he falls in love with you, Jack is unconditionally committed to you. He has a funny way of showing it sometimes, but when you get more serious, he’s certain he wants to marry you. It will take him some time to be ready to get married again, but he knows it’s in your future. He’s tested the waters with off-handed comments about marriage, and you've made some indications that you'd like to marry him eventually. Neither of you are in any particular rush, as you’re happy with your relationship and both know you’ll get married at some point. As they say, things move slower in the South.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

Emotionally, he’s much gentler than you ever would have expected. He’s sweet and sensitive, nothing like what you expected from his strong, rough exterior. He’s maybe the most understanding man you’ve ever spoken to. Physically, he only won’t be gentle with you during sex, and that’s only if that’s something you’re into and express wanting.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

While Jack loves a good hug, it would usually be you initiating them. He’ll wrap his arms around your waist and rest his chin on your shoulder while you’re brushing your teeth in the morning, but you've been known to give him a full-on hug out of nowhere. You just can’t help it, being enveloped in his arms overwhelms you with his scent, his warmth, and the steady sound of his heart beating, that you have to hug him at least once a day.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

It takes him a while to say the words “I love you” explicitly. He tells you he loves you in every way except verbally. From teaching you how to ride a horse to telling you things he’s never shared with anyone else, he hopes you know he loves you. Jack knows it doesn’t make sense, but he equates love with loss. He loved his wife and unborn child—he lost them. The nagging voice in the back of his head tells him that if he doesn't say the words aloud, he won't lose you. When he finally does say it, it’s after a mission, one he barely survives. Something went wrong with the tech and his cover was blown, forcing him face-to-face with death. Whiskey had encountered his fair share of near-death experiences, but this one was different, a brush with death so close that he could feel it. The second he’s back at Statesman HQ, you’re there waiting for him. Neither of you are sure who threw themselves into the other’s arms, but you're a mess of limbs and tears. Cradling you as close to his chest as he possibly can, he repeats his first, second, third, and so on “I love you”s into your hair, on your lips, determined to make up for lost time.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

Whiskey rarely gets jealous—he’s much too cocky. He’s amused when you’re jealous, though he would never purposely upset you. Whether on your own time or on Statesman business, people will approach him to flirt. Who wouldn’t flag down the cowboy at the bar? Before he can get a word in to politely turn them down, you’re at his side, greeting him with a kiss or firmly attaching yourself to his bicep. He can’t help the smirk that tugs at the corner of his lips when you get defensive over him. Part of why he loves you is how well you can handle yourself, and he’s more than happy to let you show him off.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

JACK LOVES TO KISS YOU! He’s always finding an excuse to sneak a kiss: at work, passing you in the hallway, before bed, before work, while you're brushing your teeth, etc. There is no time or place where this man will not be trying to lay one on you. They can be gentle and loving or passionate and demanding, depending on the mood he’s in. Long before he says “I love you,” his love is contained in his kisses.

There’s a little patch of his neck, right under his jaw, that makes him putty in your hands if you kiss. If you asked him directly where he likes to be kissed, he’d answer, “Oh, you know where, darlin’” and waggle his eyebrows, but in actuality it’s neither of those places. He wouldn't admit this, but he loves when you kiss him on the cheek. It’s something you do without thinking, like when you’re in a rush and have to head out the door or after he's answered a question of yours. It’s so natural to you that he can't help but feel loved when he thinks about it.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

Some of the other agents have children, so occasionally there will be a kid or two running around Statesman HQ. Days when there are kids around are the longest you've ever heard Jack not curse. He was raised a good Southern boy, and you mind your mouth around little ones. As for your own children, Jack lost a child that he never even got to meet, so it will be a delicate subject. Personally, he didn’t really expect to have kids at his age or in his line of work, but if you unexpectedly became pregnant, he wouldn’t react badly. He’d be a little shocked, but slowly warm up to the idea of becoming a father again. Alternatively, if you express during your relationship that you want children at some point, he’ll have a bit more time to get accustomed to the idea. When you're pregnant, he’ll quit drinking with you, go to the doctor’s appointments, baby proof the ranch, everything.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

Some days he’ll have to be in the office earlier than you are and vice versa. Whoever’s up first will usually make coffee or tea for the other to enjoy once they wake up. When it’s him, he tries really hard not to wake you up, but you sometimes stir from the kiss he has to press to your forehead before he leaves. When on the ranch, where the both of you can usually sleep in, he’s still up before you. On these days, he’ll make you breakfast, sometimes bringing it to you in bed, sometimes leaving you to sleep a little longer. Your favorite mornings are the ones where he stays with you, your bodies a lazy mess of limbs.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

It depends how tired you both are. If you’ve still got energy, you’ll usually have sex. If it’s been a long day, one or both of you is reading and/or knocked out on their pillow. However, seeing Jack in his reading glasses will sometimes wake you right up. He won't go to bed without giving you a kiss and telling you he loves you. Some days, those will be the last words out of his mouth immediately before knocking out.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

Jack has some fairly open wounds from his past, and he’s not going to just come right out and tell you about his fear of falling in love just to lose them again. Early in your relationship, he purposely avoids opening up emotionally and eventually, you stop asking. Once he’s more comfortable with you, he finds himself wanting to be vulnerable. He wants to have the kind of relationship with you where there’s open, healthy communication and no secrets. It will take him a while to get there, and it won’t happen all at once, but it will happen.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

He’s pretty patient. When he’s stressed out or tired, his fuse gets a little shorter.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

He can be forgetful, but he remembers the important things. Everything you express any interest in at all, he remembers, even when you don’t. You’ll find him fixing the sink because you had mentioned the drip was bothering you. Or you lingered a little bit looking at a necklace in the shop window and next thing you know, it’s wrapped up in a little box on your desk.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

There was a time where you both got injured on two separate missions, and Ginger had you both in the lab under observation in beds right beside each other. You had been on one or two missions together before, but always with another agent. Of course you knew each other from meetings and passing each other in the hallways, but had never really talked. Ginger had put you on lockdown in the lab, though, and there was nothing else to do but talk. This was long before you started dating, but looking back on it, it’s probably what Jack would cite as the beginning of your relationship. You had looked over at him and snickered, laughing about how he looked with healing gel around his forehead. After asking you what you were laughing at, he commented that you had the same gel on your chest.

“Staring at my chest, cowboy?”

“Hard not to, sugar, there’s a big fuckin’ bubble of shit on it.”

You paused for a second before cracking up. Ginger wasn’t all too pleased when she returned later that day to find you had spent the time that was meant to be used recovering to talk and crack jokes (and flirt, in Whiskey’s case).

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

Jack knows you can take care of yourself (he’ll never forget the time you roundhouse kicked him in training and he walked funny for a week) but he’s a cowboy, so a part of him is always going to want to protect you. Whether in public or on missions, he can’t help but keep an eye on you in case for some reason he needs to jump to your rescue.

He has an emotional wall up when you first meet from the grief of losing his first wife. It’s an attempt to protect himself from ever feeling that pain again. The longer he knows you and the more time you spend together, the more he feels comfortable lowering that wall and baring his heart to you. He comes to find that, yes, love puts you at risk of being hurt, but it’s worth it to get to be with you.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

It’s rare that the two of you get to do a date night, so he puts all that energy into anniversaries and gifts. Your first anniversary, he plans the most elaborate, all-expenses-paid trip for the two of you. It’s the most expensive and luxurious trip you’ve ever been on. You have the time of your life, but if this was the plan for the first anniversary, you worry if your bank account can handle what he would have planned for the second, third, fourth… After expressing this worry, he tones it down. Every 5th anniversary or so he’d plan something extravagant, but the ones in between are no less special. Dinner and drinks at home show you how much you mean to him just as much as a cruise would.

Sometimes gifts just appear on your pillow or on your vanity or on your desk at work. They’re not that often, usually so spread apart that there’s no discernable pattern to them. The truth is, there is no special occasion. If Jack sees something he knows you’ll love, or remembers something you mentioned offhand and there’s no birthday/anniversary/holiday coming up, he’ll get it for you and leave it somewhere for you to find. He doesn’t feel like he has to make a big deal of giving it directly to you because he doesn’t need the kudos for it. He just wants you to have it.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

Jack can be cocky. Nine times out of ten it’s charming, but sometimes he’s so stubborn and so arrogant that it’s too much. To his credit, he is working on it.

He can also be forgetful, dragging his shoes in without wiping the mud off his boots, or forgetting something from the grocery store if you don’t write it down for him. He’s got a great memory when it comes to mission briefings or differentiating a Scotch from a Bourbon, but not for mundane, day-to-day things.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

He’s no more concerned with his looks than anyone else is, except for when it comes to his mustache. He could spend hours in the mirror trimming and grooming it to ensure it's totally even and just how he wants it. Half his bathroom cabinet is grooming products: comb, scissors, balms, oils, wax. For his birthday one year you got him a mustache care subscription box, and you swear he almost cried.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

He doesn’t subscribe to the idea that a partner makes you whole. Your partner should make you feel like the best version of yourself, and that's how he feels about you.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

Jack is over the moon when you agree to let him teach you how to ride a horse. He has a few stables on his Kentucky ranch, and he’s had the perfect horse in mind to teach you on ever since you first told him you'd never ridden. She’s a Clydesdale named Peaches and a good beginner horse for you because of how obedient and affectionate she is. At least that’s what he tells you as he picks out a saddle for you. However fast or slow of a learner you are, he’s very patient with you. In the beginning he gets too overzealous and explains way too many things at once, but after you ask him to slow down he’s much more aware of your pace. When you finally get the hang of it, he’s so excited to take you to some of his favorite parts of the ranch that are only accessible by horseback. The first time he sees you out riding on your own, he’s overjoyed that you seem to like it as much as he does.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

Whiskey doesn’t want someone who’s mean. He can take a joke, but if you’re downright mean? He’s too old for that shit.

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)

He can fall asleep anywhere. He’ll pass out on the Statesman plane ten minutes into the flight. The second his head hits the pillow on your shared bed, he’s out like a light. After sex, when he’s sure you’re clean, comfortable, and settled, he falls asleep immediately. You've caught him snoozing at his desk a few times, too. Sometimes you tease him about it, saying, “Okay, old man…” when he insists he can stay awake to watch another episode of whatever the two of you are watching. When he ends up knocked out, you pause the TV and quietly tuck him in. You’ll either fall asleep with him on the couch and stay there all night, or he’ll wake up a few hours later and carry you to your bed before climbing in with you.
