Even other cities' criminals hate Gotham's ones.
Well. It's Gotham. Even Intergang didn't fit there after all.

Geoff Johns' run on the JSA is one of my all time favorite comic book runs, and damn it, his third run with the currently on-going Justice Society of America title is really good. Like if you left the book after his run ended, this run feels like a natural continuation of it.
That being said, run revealed a lot of stuff when it comes to DC continuity. Starting with Helena Wayne/Huntress.
Tumblr media
Turns out that Helena Bertinelli is the reason why she chose the Huntress moniker instead of adopting any of her dad or her mom’s various identities. We don’t know if this Helena became a Robin like her New 52 Earth 2 counterpart, but it’s kinda neat that the secret identity that Pre-Crisis Helena Wayne establish as a means to honor both her parents is likely inspired by not only her parents, but by the woman who used that moniker since Post-Crisis DC.
Tumblr media
Next  is the return of Beth Chapel and Yolanda Montez as both Dr. Mid-Nite and Wildcat respectively. Instead of blatantly ignoring that they once died years ago, heck, prior to James Robinson, David Goyer, and Geoff Johns started their run on the JSA, Johns recognized their deaths and brought a convenient way to tie them back to the greater DCU. Using the then Lazarus Planet event to bring them back to life is kinda smart since that event was batshit insane with people getting powers, so of course resurrecting the dead might be possible.

THE FACES, FIGURES, HEROES, & HEROINES OF EARTH-22 -- AN ELSEWORLDS TALE.
PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on promotional "Kingdom Come" artwork (featuring members of both Superman's reformed Justice League & Batman's Silent Cavalry) created specifically for use as a wraparound screen-printed T-shirt produced by DC Comics. Artwork by Alex Ross.
Resolution from largest to smallest: 1269x1920, 1407x1080, & 900x1043.
COMIC BOOK RESOURCES: "OK, let's get back to the book itself and discuss some of the themes you explored in the book and how they resonate today. One of those themes was Superman growing rather disheartened over his world choosing to embrace much darker, less upstanding heroes of the day. Flash forward to today and we have characters violating each other's minds and heroes killing each other. With that in mind, could "Kingdom Come" as it was produced 10 years ago be made today?"
ALEX ROSS: "Yeah, except now it would seem redundant because all those same things are being explored in a lot of contemporary books. So, it would sort of be like why set it in the future if you can do it today? Yeah, you could write that "Kingdom Come" story now because they seem to be much more flexible or leaning towards that kind of overall "screw with our entire company" type of thing -- characters live, characters die -- but I think it benefited "Kingdom Come" to be a story out of time so that, in a way, through the trade paperback sales and the way it sinks into people, it's this moment in history that's not related to a specific time. You can read it today, you can read it ten years from now and it'll still be relevant. It's not connected to one version of a character that's no longer written."
CBR: "I guess you could say in many ways "Kingdom Come" was rather prophetic."
ALEX ROSS: "It was trying to be. You know, I was really disappointed at the time it was released simply because I wanted it to come out a full year before then. I got a little bit of a late start in '94 and only got to work on it by the fall of that year. I really wanted that thing out by the end of '95 because I thought it would still be catching a moment in time of the post-Image explosion where comics were selling like crazy and seemingly thousands of new characters had erupted on the scene from all the new upstart companies. What happened in '96 was the bubble had burst and it was becoming very clear that the system was falling. So, instead of it being prophetic of the future -- which is what I had envisioned back in '93 when I started to write my first outline for it - it wound up really being more of a commentary upon the state of things as opposed to looking into the future and where things were going to go."

I have no clue who drew the original, Im including it to include some form of legal rights to somebody! I’ve always wanted to recolor it and keep the storybook feel of it!
I had this stashed in my google drive, tried to google reverse search it and came up empty :( If anyone can provide an artist- please let me know!

Applications Open for Better Heroes: A Justice Society Zine
Better Heroes is a fanmade zine dedicated to the Justice Society of America. We are looking for contributors to help make this zine as spectacular as the team it's representing!
Better Heroes will be a digital zine, with a later physical release. We're hoping the physical release can be bundled with potential merchandise, but that will be dependent on applications and on fundraising.
Any proceeds that exceed our production costs will go directly to aid for Gazans and for Palestine. We are currently weighing different charities, and intend to be as transparent as possible if and when we reach our funding goal. We're hoping we can raise enough with your help!
Will you join us?
Read on for guidelines that will help with your contributor application. And if you have any questions, drop an ask! We're happy to talk to you.
What Are We Looking For?
Writers: obviously fanfiction, but ALSO, if you have an original essay (personal or academic) or a nonfictional historical piece, we are more than happy to consider it
Artists: we're looking for cover artists, splashpage artists, artists to be paired with writers, and general. splashpage and pairing might end up more hand in hand, but that is tbd!
MERCHANDISE Artists: we are CONSIDERING, based on the interest check, making merchandise to go with the physical zine, including but not limited to stickers, pins, charms, and prints. For the integrity of the zine, please do NOT submit any merchandise ideas for THIS zine. if we move forward with merchandise, we will work with you. this is NOT the same as applying to be a zine artist, but you can apply for both! however, if you apply and are selected for both, please understand artist and merchandise artist as 2 separate jobs.
Pinch Hitters: if a contributor defaults up to 1 month before the turn-in date, a pinch hitters will be tapped. this means a pinch hitter could have anywhere from several months (if the contributor defaults early in the process) to only one month. if you are chosen to contribute AND you want to opt in to pinch hitting, there is a VERY small chance you will be asked to do both - we'd like to include as many creators as possible.
Additional Information: We are heavily considering offering a smaller zine-within-a-zine of NSFW content. this zine is not automatically included with the regular one, and buyers will have to opt in. you are welcome to apply for only sfw contributions, only nsfw contributions, or sfw AND nsfw contributions. if there is a want for additional merch to go with the nsfw zine, or a want for an nsfw-only package, we will consider it based on finances. NSFW proceeds will be bundled into our charitable donations.
