#Vax not seeing Vex but knowing that she's there and believing that she was not good at being stealthy is-- an oddly sibling thing I can

A less talked-about but no less interesting part of God Discourse I've noticed is that amongst the There Is Nuance Here crowd there's a weirdly pro-Betrayer God attitude; like there's examples of gods being bad right here (see: The Actual Devil in Literal Hell), but we're choosing to focus on Melora for some reason? Fascinating levels of dissonance here.
So here's the thing. I've found that this has also been an evolving position.
I think during EXU Calamity, the main argument was pro-Betrayer God. Some was that Asmodeus was in fact played masterfully; Zerxus, after all, fell for it. The rest seemed to be to me the usual dull "but I wanted it to be subversive" argument, upon which the motivations of that desire I can only speculate (and such speculation, while entertaining, is not productive). I would argue, Calamity was not lacking in subversion, notably with the portrayal of Vespin Chloras and the fact that this was ultimately an immensely hopeful, if also deeply tragic story of an averted annihilation.
I think currently? It's the Wild West, at best. I don't have much to add other than what I've said already, and unfortunately it does require either familiarity with the posts I'm thinking about or me doing something as tacky as publicly posting screenshots to get the full context. Suffice it to say I've rarely seen such unformed and unsupported arguments. They are phrased in apery of a coherent argument, but, crucially, lacking the evidence.
Getting back to your point I think the focus is more on the Prime Deities because those are the gods whom past characters (and FCG) were affiliated with. I honestly don't think most of them have the lore knowledge to recall deities who have not come up as directly in game; they're focusing on Melora because they know who she is. Possibly because she was Bor'Dor's deity; possibly because she was the deity who reached out to Orym and was insufficiently clear in her communication to Fearne to satisfy them (and yet we stan Liliana, queen of clear responses, amirite?); possibly because it's edgily rewarding to them to fantasize about upending and destroying Caduceus, Fjord, and Fy'ra Rai's lives. Similar arguments can be made for Pelor and the Raven Queen; one can point to the genuine harm mortals have done in Pelor's name and the fact that the Raven Queen collected on a deal, willingly made, from Vax, and you get to weakly and cringingly tell yourself you are dunking on people who like Vax, or Vex, or Morrighan. It is interesting to me that people are not focusing more on Lolth given her appearance and the fact that Opal's choice, while technically willing, was much more manipulated than anything the Raven Queen has every done. Lolth behaves in canon as idiots believe the Raven Queen to have done in fanon. I've found a significant number of the arguments against the gods rely on a profound misattribution or at best deliberate avoidance of what is voluntary vs. what is coercive or done without consent (eg: comparisons between Judicators and Ruidusborn).
Basically: they bring in the Betrayers when it's convenient for the argument and cherrypick around them when it's not; they do the same with the Primes. There's just a lot more to pick from with the Primes.

Vex'ahlia being worried for her brother, and Keyleth being worried for Vax and ending up in the same position is really nice and a little funny.
Tumblr media
And the fact that Vax thinks that Vex'ahlia has gotten sloppy with her stealth when in reality it was just Keyleth following too made me drop my jaw

man. you know what i fucking think about all the time? vex and vax and the deities that they become champions to. how even those gods reflect the entanglement that is their life, how vax steps in front of a goddess on his stalwart hope in the world and demands she choose him and how vex is so tentative, barely speaks up because she’s fighting against every instinct she’s learned that tells her not to hope that she could be worthy enough, certainly not to a god.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and the gods that choose them, the gods they choose? they’re both reflections of one another to each other. vax, whose championship arose out of his commitment to never leave his sister’s side? his god is the matron of ravens, a sad woman who dons a mask. a mortal who fought tooth and nail to arrive at the power she has. vex, whose championship arrives after her brother’s hope in the future and her future specifically has rubbed off on her and encouraged her own growth to believing? she is greeted with pelor, who stands strong and painfully bright, but she’s granted the gift to see through it to warm eyes and a bright smile. who affirms the hope that lives in her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and man, it’s even more extraordinary to me that the comparison between the given twin’s god and their sibling gets made by that sibling in scenes where they directly speak to the gods their twin has chosen. during vax’s resurrection ritual, vex bargains with the raven queen because she knows she’s someone who bargains like vex herself does, and she’s someone that values vax, maybe not quite as much as she does, but enough. and during vex’s trial, as the dawn father searches for his hope among the love for vex among vox machina, vax’s affirmation is that vex is his hope, so she should certainly be sufficient to be pelor’s.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and god the black death walker’s ward and the white dragon armour? vax’s wings and vex’s blessing? vax as a shroud of darkness visiting this plane, embracing the literally glowing shape of his sister on her wedding day? the poetry of vex and vax and pelor and the matron of ravens is enormous and so much of it is fucking. improv.

Married life headcanons? With Percy, Vax and Vex? ✨🖤
Domestic Bliss
To ask for a normal life after so long as an adventurer seemed impossible. But here they were, living with you and so terribly happy.
Percy, Vex, & Vax x Reader
Fandom: The Legend of Vox Machina/ Critical Role
Format: Headcanons
Gender Neutral Reader
Masterlist
Domestic bliss is my favourite thing to write, this is great for me -Finn
Percy
He is so smug about the fact that he gets to call you his spouse. Absolutely the type to refer to you as his husband/wife/spouse and then melt over the fact that he can say that.
Similar to the last point, as you now have a title due to being married to Percy, he will find excuses to use it. It's another reminder that you chose him!
No matter how stubborn this man is with most, he folds like wet paper with you. Percy is awful at saying no to you. He is whipped and he cannot do a thing about it.
All he really wants to do is spoil you with everything he has. What is the point of money and status if not to give you the perfect life?
Cassandra does her best to strike up a friendship with you and thinks it is hilarious that you could easily convince your husband to do anything. She will try and get you to take advantage of this for silly things.
If you become close with his sister, he's done for. Family is so important to him, and you and Cassandra are the biggest parts of his. Having you two get along is all he wants.
Cass makes a comment once about wanting to become an aunt and almost kills Percy.
Vex
Vex is subtler about how incredibly happy she is, but you know the way her eyes sparkle whenever someone mentions you.
There are jokes made about you being Trinket's step-parent. Trinket has decided the correct way to react is to try and make you pet him whenever he hears it. If he isn't expecting it, he gets excited and will knock you over from the force of it. Vex loves this.
Vex'ahlia has a possessive streak and you are well aware of it. She likes having a hand on you whenever she's next to you, and it will become incredibly obvious if she starts feeling as though someone is paying a little too much attention to you. This is when she starts saying 'My spouse," every time she refers to you.
She will say the worst, most blatant, innuendo in front of the party without so much as a blush. If you get flustered, then it's all the more fun.
Vex finds a lot of joy in still being able to fluster you, no matter how long the two of you have been together.
Vax
Vax can't quite believe that you agreed to marry him. On some level, it feels like he has been living a dream since the wedding.
He's so ridiculously soft over you. Vex claims he has heart eyes whenever you aren't looking. She's right.
He has dreamed of having a simple, content life ever since he was a kid. All he really wanted was to have someone he loved and could rely on. You give him so much more than that.
His deal with the Raven Queen haunts him sometimes, when he thinks about how much time he will or won't get to have with you. He promised himself that he would give you all of the love he could for as long as he could.
Vax tries to do small things to make your days easier when he can. For him, that's what love is. Wanting to make someone's life easier, to make them happy. You'll often see small things that he'd done for you without him saying he's done them.

Oy Walt,
Truth Serum/Spell with Vaxleth, please? That should be fun, right?
Somehow I know you will find a way to hurt us :)
60. Truth Serum/spell
If there's one thing Vox Machina loves, it's drinking. If there are two things Vox Machina loves, it's drinking and games. If there are three things Vox Machina loves, it's drinking and games and inappropriate uses of magic.
Which is how they all bully Pike, face red and eyes hazy, into casting zone of truth, thereby initiating an instantly intense game of truth or drink. As per the rules, everyone allows the magic to wash over them, and the vulnerability begins.
They draw straws, and Scanlan wins. Pointing a finger at Grog, he demands, "How big is your dick really?"
Grog pouts. "Not fair. You know I ain't good with numbers."
"Compare it to another object!"
Grog's face scrunches up as he thinks way too hard for way too long. Finally he settles on, "Percy's forearm."
The table erupts in gasps and swears. "Wait wait wait," Vex hiccups, swaying slightly. "Is that just length, or girth too?"
"No, it's my turn to ask!" Grog hums a little as he thinks. "Percy..."
"Oh gods," the man in question mutters, his cheeks already tinged pink.
"You ever go to one of the lady houses in Whitestone?"
"I've been to several ladies' houses in Whitestone, Grog." He smiles smugly at having successfully sidestepped the question.
"BOO!" Keyleth tosses a handful of bar pretzels at him. "Answer the question!"
"I do believe it's my turn now." He ignores the disappointed grumbling and levels his eyes at Keyleth, who shrinks in fear of what's coming her way. "Vax."
Oh.
Vax's head is tipped on Keyleth's shoulder, and she's pretty sure he's already half-asleep. "Hm?"
Percy maintains the most deadly eye contact with Keyleth as he asks, "Where do you see yourself in five years?"
Vax hums thoughtfully. "Well, dead, most likely—"
"Fucking hell," Vex groans.
"—but if not that, then...mmm...living in Zephrah with Keyleth and our babies."
Keyleth's face instantly goes up in flames. She buries her nose in her tankard, utterly unable to make eye contact with any of her friends, who are either gagging or making the most obnoxious kissy noises. She nearly chokes on her mead when Vax asks, "Kiki?"
"Hm?" she squeaks.
"Does that scare you?"
Oh, fuck this game. She feels six pairs of eyes boring into her, but the only one she sees are his, large and dark like a cow's, his head twisted up to her with an expression so tender she wonders if he's real. "No," she whispers, "but that's what scares me."
And he grins a stupid, drunk, sloppy grin, so very satisfied with himself, and Keyleth rips her eyes away to throw whatever stupid question at Pike she can think of, anything to get the eyes off of her. As Pike thinks about what animal she'd want to be turned into for the rest of her life, Keyleth sneaks another peek back at Vax, who's still smiling like the cat who got the cream—and okay, maybe they both did, she thinks as she winds her fingers in his beneath the table, tipping her cheek onto the crown of his head with a sigh.

is there a canon reason why percy and vex broke up? did tal or laura ever say why exactly?
not to my knowledge? they mentioned a lot about the secret wedding, but the break up was mentioned offhand in the campaign wrap-up talks machina, when they were asked if there was anything anyone did during the year off that never came up in the campaign
i will say though that in quite a few talks machinas tal and laura talk about perc'ahlia like a celebrity relationship (or specifically say "yeah we're one of those couples"), and that's a thing you tend to see fairly often with celebrities that end up in tabloids - they have a complicated life, they break up and get back together quite a bit, so i think part of it is tal and laura having fun playing that drama and letting them be those disaster celebrities
if you want my speculation on an in-canon reason though? i think the commitment freaked them out
like vex has always had issues surrounding stability, she's not had it in her life since she was a little kid, and she's just made excuses to herself her whole life that she's fine because she doesn't want stability - she just wants her brother and to keep moving and to never have to worry about putting down roots or forming emotional attachments because it hurts less that way. it's why she gets so jealous and snippy when vax starts showing interest in keyleth, and why she keeps shutting down his attempts to tell her he's moving to zephrah - she can't keep being flighty and only attached to her brother if he wants to settle down with someone else
as much as she loves percy, and they're good for each other, we know from the grey hunt trial that the idea of settling down with him scares her, because it's new, and because it means for the first time in a long time she has something to lose
percy is almost the opposite, he lost his entire family once already and he doesn't ever want to do that again. it's why he gets so vicious when scanlan leaves, because vox machina is his new family, and no one's allowed to tear that apart again (also why we get the really tentative "i know we don't always agree and i know i can be unkind, but... you know you're family, right?" to grog immediately after)
but a relationship is a whole new step, he trusts vex about as much as he does anyone, but this isn't just trusting her with his anger issues, or trusting her with his city, this is trusting her with the future, with his future, with always being around. i don't think he's confident enough to believe she loves him that much, that anyone could, and if he lets himself take that step fully, he has so much more to lose if something happens like it did last time
so it's all well and good when the relationship is new, when they're still trying things out, when it's flirty and it doesn't have to be serious if they don't want it to
even in moments where it's emotionally heavy, like percy's resurrection, it's still new and in the moment, they're not looking past what's immediately in front of them
(and even after that heavy moment, vex got nervous percy didn't like her back and decided to push it all to the back of her brain and not think about it - vax straight up told her to go chase him bc she deserved to be happy and she instead got drunk and changed the subject)
but then the fighting's over. they're not worried about their lives every day. no one died, they're both still here. and it starts to sink in with them that this isn't going anywhere. that this can be their forever, if they choose it. and that scares both of them, and when they get scared they tend to either wall themselves off or lash out, and both would cause a schism in their relationship. and then one day it turns into an argument and in the heightened emotion one of them says they should break up and the other agrees
and now they're emotionally safe, because if they cause the relationship to end on their terms it can't be pulled away from them unexpectedly
but they're not actually happy
and maybe they come to that realisation on their own, more likely they talk about it with their friends and vax and keyleth tell them they're being idiots
and then the question is what to do about it
it's possible they went slowly back into it
or, since we know their first marriage proposals were a dare, maybe they weren't even together again yet
i could see that being exactly the sort of thing they'd do if they wanted to get back together but they didn't want to be the first one to admit that they wanted to
skip the dating phase we already did that i dare you to marry me
and maybe they talk about it much later, maybe they don't
but i think by the time they got to the marriage, they'd realised they wanted this to be more than a casual thing, and it's still probably scary, but there's no one else they'd trust to get them through that fear and come out the other side

Part 7 of deadweight, please?? It’s such a good series!
Tumblr media
Vax, Vex, Keyleth and Percy were quick to abandon the original plan in finding the vestige in the hopes of finding you and so far they weren’t so lucky.
Every dark shade that they’d believe to be you was a mere fluke in a realm where it felt like you were on some strange LSD acid trip 24/7. They didn’t know how you could split off from them when you were right next to them through the journey here.
Keyleth believed that it might’ve been the realm, taking offence to your position as the raven queens champion. It was a plausible reason seeing how everything reacted negatively towards you lately.
Vax, Vex and Percy however collectively agreed that their Druid party member just had a bad spell casting capabilities. She was making an attempt which is what counts.
“Do you think they’ll ever forgive us?” Keyleth asked the question that was truly on everyone’s mind but they all knew the answer to that too.
“No.” Vax answered bluntly, “they’d be pissed if our method of reconciliation with them was to sweep all the shit we’ve done to them under the rug.”
“That’ll be the equivalent of kicking a man while he’s down.” Percy pitched in, “We’d be disregarding their feelings and experiences if we did that.”
“So our only option in making it up to them is to acknowledge that we were cunts and promise to be better for the future.” Vex finished as they continued to delve deeper into the woods. “Wherever they are,” she continues, “I hope they’re alright.”
[with you]
“VAX, VEX, KEYLETH, PERCY! IM GOING TO KILL YOU! AND THEN KILL YOU AGAIN!” You screamed as you ran further into a dense, dead forest to escape from the murderous vegetation that had been trailing you. All you did was step on some weird looking flower! You apologised afterwards! What more could they fucking want!
When you didn’t hear the rampaging horde of angry plants did you dare to look back to see that they had seemingly lost sight of you and gave up the hunt in order to head back home. “Weird.” You said to yourself, sheathing your daggers but before you were about to continue trekking the foreign land for your party members.
a voice called out to you from deep within the forest, causing you to become in some sort of trance as though your body was no longer yours to control anymore as you could only watch yourself walk through the dead forest, through some sickly looking swamp of thick black goo like substance as though it were water.
“You’re friends aren’t coming to save you my dear,” the voice said. “They’re too preoccupied with the vestige to worry about your well being.” It then chuckled before continuing, “your need for companionship is quite pathetic. You feel alone whenever you in a room with the rest of your party. Alienated, ostracised, outcasted from the group of outcasts.”
“I, however, can provide you all the companionship you will ever need, all you need to do is come to me. Come to me. Come to me. Come to me.”
Your body did as this voice told you as you watched it reach a dead tree trunk that opened up with an ominous red glow. As soon as you stepped inside, the tree was quick to close up behind you, sealing you in with whatever monster laid inside.
“That’s not good.” Warned a horned mystery figure with fiery hair sat upon a rock. “I must tell their friends that their little warrior mate is in danger, grave danger should they hear out Saurndor terms and conditions.” With a blink of an eye, the figure had dissipated in thin air.
[back to vox maxhina]
They’ve searched
And searched
And searched
But they had yet to still find evidence that you weren’t dead in a ditch somewhere but Percy, Vax, Vex and Keyleth believed that they were getting close, though how close was close was still up for debate.
“Ugh! They could be anywhere by now!” Vex cries as she and the others crossed a riven, annoyed at the lack of progress. How could they miss a armoured figure with black feathered shoulder pads in a realm of eye straining, migraine inducing colour?!
Either you were trying to find them also or…Vex didn’t want to think about the other option. They’ve lost you once, they were determined to never loose you again. They still had unresolved problems to put to rest.
“They couldn’t have possibly gone to Syngorn?” Percy asked, looking back they way they came as though waiting to see your silhouette encroach in on them but nothing. The gunslinger sighs in disappointment and dissatisfaction as he pinched the skin between his brows.
“Fat chance.” A unknown voice told them.
Percy, Vax, Vex and Keyleth turned to look who it was only to see a fiery haired being with horns sat not too far from them, notebook in hand.
Vax was quick to pull of his dagger, “who are you and what have you done with y/n?” He threatens but the horned male merely laughed as though he was threatened with a stick rather then a sharpened piece of forgery.
“I haven’t done anything to them, but Lord Saundor will should you fail to reach them in time.” He muses, still drawing in his little notebook.
“What is that meant to mean?” Percy said gutturally, holding his gun at the being who seemingly knew your whereabouts. “Who’s Saundor?”
“That’s for you to know and for you to find out.” The figure cheeked before pointing towards the dead forest that Keyleth, Vax, Vex and Percy seemed to somehow miss in their mission of searching for you.
“They’re currently under his trance. I should’ve told them to not listen to him but by the time I got to them, they were already walking right into his trap. Poor thing, whatever ails them must take a heavy toll on them.”
Vax, Vex, Percy and Keyleth looked to each other in shame and sorrow. Whatever this saurdon did to you, must’ve been using your most deeply desired against you, they had indirectly made you dispensable to him and now this was their chance to make up for everything by saving you.
“Lead us there and we’ll think about letting you live.” Vex said.
“VEX, VAX, KEYLETH, PERCY! IM GOING TO KILL YOU! AND THEN KILL YOU AGAIN!”
“VAX, VEX, KEYLETH, PERCY! IM GOING TO KILL YOU! AND THEN KILL YOU AGAIN!”
“VAX, VEX, PERCY, KEYLETH! IM GOING TO KILL YOU! AND THEN KILL YOU AGAIN!” You screamed as you ran into a forest area with weird looking plants trailing you with murderous intent.
“VEX, VAX, KEYLETH, PERCY! I WILL KILL YOU! AND THEN KILL YOU AGAIN!” You screamed as you ran deeper into a weird looking forest area with even weirder looking plants tailing after you with murderous intent.
“VEX, VAX, PERCY, KEYLETH IM GOING TO KILL YOU! AND THEN KILL YOU AGAIN!” You screamed as you ran as fast as your legs could carry you deeper into the woods as weird freaking plant fucks were tailing you

Vex never believed she was good enough for their father. Vax always knew that wasn't true. In his eyes his sister is the most wonderful person in the world. She is kind, though Vax knows most people can't see that. She's beautiful, most people can see that.
And more than that, she's his other half, she is the best parts of all of him.
And now she's dead in his arms and he wishes that he was dead along side her. How can his heart keep beating when hers is still?
He sobs and it's the only thing he can do, the only thing his body will let him do.
He remembers standing in the rain, clinging to his sister as tight as he could, crying as he begged her not to go far from him. And how just last night he had made her make the same promise.
Vex put her arm around him, pulling him towards where she had made camp. She'd made quite a meal for herself, he noted. More evidence that she didn't need him.
But Vex sat him down by the fire, she pressed a piece of meat into his hands, urging him to eat. He didn't even have to ask, she sat pressed to his side, leaning her head on his shoulder.
"I always need you," Vex told him softly, her voice very audible over the rain.
He shook his head, "You don't need to lie to me. It's alright, I've...come to terms with it by now. I know you love me just as much as I love you."
Vex hugged him tight, "I love you too. Want some more food?"
He shook his head again, "No, you take some more."
She'd given him a look, but took more, settling back against him. He held her tight when they slept that night, half terrified that she would leave him in the middle of the night.
She didn't, of course she didn't.
All Vax can do is sob.

🤍, 🖤?
🤍: Which character is not as morally bad as everyone else seems to think?
So this is gonna seem contradictory to my reblog of blorb's post; this is not intended to be read as a counter to it, but as a complement: Percy.
If I'm being honest, one of the things that kinda bothers me about C1 group fanart is when I see everyone else in the party at their fully developed state, like with their Vestiges and powerups and everything, and then Percy's out here...with Orthax. Whom he expelled from himself with a natural 20 wisdom save, for the record, in episode 35. He spent more time without Orthax than with him!
It is objectively true that Percy invented the gun knowing what harm it could do but did it anyway. He once permanently maimed an innocent boy because he wasn't giving the answers he wanted. He gave Grog a cursed sword and didn't tell anyone because he didn't want it to be his responsibility and he thought Grog could handle it. It is also objectively true that he expressed doubts about what he was doing even during the Briarwood arc and admitted he was scared of who he was becoming and outright asked the group to stop him if they thought they should. He publicly apologized to Desmond and admitted his wrong and assured him recompense in both money and job security. He participated in a resurrection ritual for a child he didn't know who got caught in the crossfire of a battle. He fought to provide the people of Westruun a safe haven in their city, while still encouraging people to leave if they wished, because he wanted to honor the fact that what they had built there was important to them.
I think Percy is one of those characters that people view as either a silly little Human Disaster™ or as Vox Machina's Token Evil Teammate (the audience who projected onto him as the Facts and Logic guy seems to have dissipated after it became clear that he was. very much not doing that), and neither of those things are true. When Laura remarked that she looked at Percy and said "I can fix him", it was very clearly a joke, but I think people take that seriously and think Vex is the only reason he's not Lawful Evil or something. (Taliesin once said that without Vex's influence Percy could potentially have turned out Lawful Good—Laura's reaction was "eugh".) Percy didn't believe he could EVER be worthy of Vex and never once intended to act on his feelings; the change in him between episodes 35 and 68 was because he personally chose to be better, over and over again—even through several instances of him having Fucked Up Big Time—for its own sake. His forgiveness of Ripley is what inspired Vex, and I don't think people acknowledge that enough.
🖤: Which character is not as morally good as everyone else seems to think?
I kind of alluded to this in the ship question but to be clear at the outset, I think Vax is a good person*, but I also think his flaws tend to be overlooked. He gets Soft Boy'd a lot, and while I don't think characters who operate on emotion are bad or stupid by default (my favorite superhero is Starfire), I think fandom tends to assume people who operate on emotion are good by default. Vax does a lot of reckless things that he's repeatedly called out for by everyone in the group, and he generally lets it roll off him because his metric for success is "but did you die". He saw a kid that he thought needed some tough love, and his first response was "bludgeon him over the back of the head and instantly knock him unconscious". He ran into a trap that nearly got Cassandra killed and never once apologized to her. He ran after Raishan and attacked, an action that actually did get Vex and Scanlan killed, and not only did he never apologize to them, he openly said in front of them that he didn't regret doing it (after being rightfully angry with Percy for getting Vex killed and having seen some proof that Scanlan might not be doing great!).
Like, to be clear, again, none of those things make him a bad person; I think overall he's a good person, and I think they're good character choices!* What I'm saying is that he has some genuine rough edges to him, and I think a lot of that gets ignored or sanded down in fanon to make him "the nice twin" or a perfect YA Hero love interest for a Keyleth who is being projected onto, and that simply isn't the character Liam played.
*I wouldn't normally put in that kind of good-person caveat—I don't think the end-all be-all is whether or not a fictional character is a good person—but a) this is a question about morality and b) some folks are weird about Liam.

I saw the Vox Machina with an Eda like reader and liked it, can I get a platonic one for Reader who is like King?
Not human thinks they are something related to monsters (but it turns out they are powerful creatures), are basically like a kid who gets frustrated when something doesn't go right and releases a squeak of rage, and is on a journey to find their family.
Waitttt I actually love this idea?
HEY!!! YOU!!!! my comms r open!! please request me!!
PartTitan!Reader x Vox Machina
HEADCANNONS
warnings - none
Tumblr media
"Temper Titan", Titan!Reader x vox machina
everyone at once (devil emoji)
Nobody really quite KNOWS what you are, but they know you're part.
Referencing to the title, Percy has said he thinks your part titan, but due to advancements, there is no way to know for sure.
Because of that, Vox Machina had become known for having a "Temper Titan."
It's kind of embarrassing, at first when you heard of it, but you are pretty terrifying when you're mad.
Much like King and other titans, when you stomp or yell, the ground shakes and often things that should be strong enough to be stable such as a boulder, break.
Vox Machina also calls you this… but.. at least they accept you?
Anger issues goes crazy as a titan. you're real sensitive, but you can often end up sad instead of angry when they try to wind you up mid-battle.
Scanlan often tries to make fun of you during a battle but instead he just tugs on your strings and makes you cry.
A little upsetting when it happens, and you end up not talking to Scanlan for a while.
called you a whole loser dude
He was MEANNN man.
Of course, your cries are just as powerful if not more powerful than your stomps and yells.
he likes to pretend you couldn't drag him with and without magic
Sadly, when you do have a temper, Keyleth can feel it through her plants.
Its a downside, so when you're going nuts, Keyleth is down and coping with the fact the ground and plants are in pain.
its also a battle field issue a lot.. thankfully Scanlan's bard magic can always lift them up, but, it makes them a big, chunky target.
You being a little kid they don't want to be up too long without you.
Percy is especially careful about this.
Vex and Vax on the other hand could not care LESS.
swim or drown in their little world.
Keyleth scolds them about their carelessness for you, but when it comes down to it, they are the first ones to dive in and save you.
Vax especially.
They both see you as a younger sibling.
They try to keep your temper under control, but it doesn't work out sometimes, and you guys end up having to run away while in public
Like.. literally mid tantrum they'll just pick you up and put you on trinket.
sent away for poor behavior!!!
Vax buys you literally anything you want and its crazy..
its not even because he doesn't want you to be mad, its because he wants you to have what he didn't in his childhood, but Vex has a different view, and still wants you to grow up and be a responsible person.
BUT ANYWAYYYYYYY MORE KEYLETHH??? YES MORE KIKI
she often likes to take you out to nature just because
her connection to it makes her feel you have one too because they all think(know) you're a titan.
its really nice because you'll literally just lay there and you'll feel vines and grass growing around you comfortingly
like a big ol' blanket
Sometimes, you'll go out to her little spot without her, and you'll literally just be there for HOURS.
You gave Percy a heart attack.
he kinda scolded Keyleth for it so you started crying.. and.. titan tantrum.
he kinda just sighed and picked you up and brought you home with Keyleth
Grog is also low-key protective of you???
a lot like how he is with Pike
Pike might have told him to protect you, but either way, he is quite the man for the job.
consider him a body blocker
PIKE WILL MAKE YOU FUCKING MEDITATE WITH HER
not for religious reasons, just to help you calm down sometimes.
She's super sweet to you man.
mama pike
usually the one cooking for you because she strongly believes you should not be eating all the crap Vox Machina eats because they're all raging alcoholics with mommy or daddy issues(most of the time both)

(Let it out)
V doesn’t cry for a while.
You’d think after everything he had been through, losing Johnny, Jackie, and T-Bug, and losing himself would cause him to break. But it doesn’t. He doesn’t cry for a while.
He doesn’t cry until about two months after he and Kerry are married, and he’s admitting to himself that the relic ruined him in deeper ways than he thought. Rogue passed over the torch of the Afterlife to him, promised she’d still be around if he needed anything, and that was that.
Vax was standing in his massive penthouse, sounds of a bath running upstairs and soft music playing over the surround sound. A calm night, the husbands still deep in their honeymoon phase and their “holy shit can you believe we lived through that?” Phase.
“Vax?”
V wasn’t aware of the tears running down his face until warm hands cupped his cheeks and wiped them away. No judgement or harshness, just pure concern from his lover.
He tried to answer, say he was okay, but his voice broke and a sob wracked through him. He covered his mouth as Kerry brought him closer, petting his hair and whispering to him. He wonders how long this had been anticipated. How long people were waiting for him to break.
He cried for Jackie, the first one he lost in this chaos. Then for T-Bug, who died quicker than he had time to process, he didn’t even know she was dead until a week later. Then he cried for Johnny, the one he came to see as his other half. By the end of it, he was ready to accept that he and Johnny were one. That he could find a way to save them both. He loved Johnny, in such a way it hurt to not have him anymore.
He cried for his lost youth. For Vex, who had to become a mother quicker than anyone ever should. For himself, raising the both of them on the streets for 15 years. Then he cried over the burn on his hand, a signal for the start of the worst years of his life. Maybe if that night had never happened, he would have never met him. Maybe he could take showers like a normal person and swim in his perfectly good pool.
And then he cried for Kerry. For the poor man that didn’t deserve any of this. Who probably thought he was signing up for some fun with a young man and got stuck with a wrecking ball instead. Vax had spent the last few years trying so hard to be that. He hated watching Kerry take care of him after the space station, waking up to Kerry holding him to his chest after a nightmare. This wasn’t how this was supposed to go, it was supposed to be the other way around.
“Hey… sweetheart, look at me.”
Vax felt his face being pushed away from the safety of Kerry’s shoulder. Back to the harsh reality of Night City… but in that moment, he was in their living room. Warm and safe from any horrors in the city below. The warm hands holding his face were full of love and as Kerry promised him on their wedding day, protection.
They couldn’t protect each other in the same ways, but they still loved each other.
Kerry bumped their foreheads together, forcing eye contact. Vax hated eye contact when he was vulnerable like this.
“I love you.”
Those three little words, ones that took them so long to say with confidence. Now he said it with his full chest, eye contact and all.
“How long have to been waiting for this?” Vax’s voice was broken from crying, still trying to catch his breath. But Kerry just smiled.
“A while. Crying on our wedding day doesn’t count either. Had bets with everyone going. I thought you’d cry about a month after you came down, Judy had two-“ Vax started laughing before Kerry could finish teasing him.
“Hey…” Vax closed his eyes, holding his husband’s wrists.
“Hey handsome.”
“I love you too.”

Beauty and the Booze - Grog Strongjaw x Dragonborn Reader
Tumblr media
Vox Machina arrived in a new town just as night was falling. They were all tired, hungry, and magically burnt out. Grog had already decided many miles ago that his allies were in need of ale. The group headed for the local tavern only to see a large crowd gathered around the entrance.
Our heroes asked one man, "what's this here, friend?"
"A weekly ritual at this point, stranger," he replied. "Another dumb schmuck has challenged (y/n)."
"(y/n)?"
"The blacksmith's daughter."
With his great strength and might need for booze, Grog plowed through the crowd. The goliath's companions follow behind. Once inside, the adventurers take in the sight of two figures sitting across from each other with several empty mugs and a number of spectators strewn about them.
On the left is the challenger; a large man nearly seven feet tall. To the right, the reigning champion, (y/n); a dragonborn lass with shining golden scales and sharp curving horns. Her smaller stature doesn't seem to deter her from downing multiple rounds of alcohol.
Grog gazes at the hardy female, feeling both impressed and infatuated. He couldn't help but stare as the ale dribbles down her chin and onto her chest, soaking into her soot-covered shirt.
The challenger seemed to be near his limit. Onlookers could see the man going pale. Moments later, he rushes from the building to unload his insides on the outside streets.
The bar erupts in a roar of rowdy cheers as their champion arose from her seat, pumping her fists in victory.
"She's perfect," Grog swooned. Pike looked up at her lovestruck friend and smiled.
"Well lads," the draconic dame chuckled proudly, "it's been fun but I gotta head out."
She began making her exit tipsily, bumping into our heroes and unintentionally tapping shoulders with Grog.
"Oh, sorry about that, bud," she said. Grog just stood there slack-jawed and with even less brain power than usual. "Right." She moved past the crowd and began making the trek back to her own home.
Percy went to the tavern owner and acquired a couple rooms for his party. Room 1: Percy, Vex, Vax, Keyleth. Room 2: Pike, Scanlan, Grog.
Most of the party were able to knock out pretty easily while one remained awake. Grog couldn't get (y/n) out of his head. She was everything he could've ever wanted, but judging by their interaction downstairs, he didn't know how to approach his feelings.
The goliath nudged Scanlan awake. The gnome groaned, looking up at his friend with tired eyes. "Ugh, Grog, it's late. What do you want?"
"I need to ask you something," Grog explains, "do you uh...do you believe in love at first sight?"
Upon learning that this was a romantic matter, Scanlan sat up from his cot. "Well buddy," he began, "if you look just a little bit to your left you'll have your answer."
The duo moved their vision towards the sleeping form of Pike.
"I don't get it," Grog responds.
Scanlan refrains from smacking his own forehead at his friend's utter obliviousness. "Yes, Grog. Yes I do."
"Okay. And say you want to try to impress the person you're in love with. What would you do?"
"Well, going by my own talents, I'd most likely spin a heartfelt song for them. But that's me. You need to think about what you're good at."
"Hmm...fighting, smashing things...fighting...and drinking. Oh my gods. Scanlan I think I just had an amenity."
"I think you mean epiphany," Scanlan commented.
"Yeah that too"
With the situation supposedly remedied, the two friends returned to their sleep.
--
The next morning, Grog conspired with his two gnome friends on how to get (y/n)'s attention. The plan was for Grog to be the next person to challenge the object of his affection to a drinking contest.
The downside was that Grog was in no position to talk to her when out of his element. Instead, Scanlan was sent as a singing telegram to the daughter of the blacksmith.
Scanlan entered the smith's shop, its walls and shelves filled to the brim with well-grafted weapons and armor. His eyes first take notice of a towering dragonborn working at the forge.
"Um, hey there," he said awkwardly.
The draconic male stepped away from his tools and greeted him saying, "good day, my small friend. How can I help ye today?"
"I come on behalf of a lovestruck goliath."
"Well you may tell them I'm flattered but I'm already married."
"Well actually his affections are directed to your daughter."
"(y/n)? How unforeseen. Very well. (y/n)!"
(y/n) enters the shop from the back door dressed in full artificer's regalia. "What is it, dad?"
"This gnome apparently has a message for you from a friend."
(y/n) looked curiously as Scanlan retrieved his lute.
♫ my dear beauty with the golden scales,
meet me tonight for a round of ale
I've seen the might of your drinking skills
let's see who has the greater will ♫
(y/n) was stunned. Never had she received a challenge in song form and certainly not one with romantic undertones.
With an intrigued chuckle she says, "tell your friend that I happily accept his challenge."
"Great," Scanlan said with a grin, "thank you. I'll be on my way now."
Scanlan exited the shop just as (y/n)'s mother entered.
"What was all that now?" she asked.
"Our daughter has a date," the father answered.
--
Later in the evening, everyone gathered at the tavern to witness the challenge. Grog was sitting at the bar, feeling anxious. Pike gave her friend some words of encouragement. In that moment, Grog decided he needed a starter. He ordered himself a pint, filling his body with liquid courage. The townsfolk announced (y/n)'s arrival at the tavern.
"Alright," she said with confidence, "who among you has challenged me?"
Swallowing down his starter, Grog stood up and said awkwardly, "uh, that'd be me."
"Oh yes, I remember you from the night before. I'm flattered by your rather unorthodox message."
Grog felt a warmth in his face that for once in his life didn't come from booze.
"I see you've already given yourself a head start," (y/n) commented, noticing the large mug in her challenger's hand. Grog embarrassingly tosses aside his mug (nearly clocking some poor soul in the face) before moving to one of the large tables. (y/n) took her seat across from him as the barkeep came over.
"House rules," they began, "first to puke or pass out loses."
"Good luck," (y/n) says.
The barkeep brings over the first round and the battle of the booze begins. The two appear equally matched as stacks of empty mugs begin to pile up. (y/n) seems to move at a slightly faster pace. A half-hour passes by as (y/n) takes the time to compliment Grog.
"I must say," the gold scaled girl says, "I don't think I've had anyone keep up with me. Color me impressed."
Grog tries to keep his composure at her words, focusing on his drinking.
Tensions rose at the top of the hour, the locals cheering for (y/n) while Vox Machina (specifically Pike and Scanlan) calling out to Grog.
"This goes on much longer and tavern will be completely cleaned out," Percy commented.
"Wouldn't be the first time," Vex added.
"Indeed."
The tavern was in fact on their last barrel. (y/n) winced slightly while promising to heavily compensate for the amount of ale she and Grog had been running through. She looks to her opponent who has been double fisting for the past few rounds. With a slip of the hand, (y/n) toppled over, knocking her head on the table.
There was a long silence as all gazed in awe. The townsfolk were in shock as their long time champion lay buzzed out on the floor.
"Fuck yeah!" Scanlan hollered, breaking the silence.
"Woo, Grog!" Pike shouted out. They rushed to their victorious friends.
Grog himself was almost in disbelief. He didn't feel like he had to win the challenge. To him, he had already won back when (y/n) had spoken her words of admiration. On the subject of (y/n), she slowly came to, groaning in pain.
"Pike," Grog gestured to his friend. The cleric understood what he was trying to communicate.
Pike wanders over to the inebriated dragonborn and uses her magic to heal her.
(y/n) came to asking, "What happened?"
"You...you lost," one of the bystanders answered, still shocked.
"Lost?" she turned to Grog who gave an awkward wave. She chuckled and said walked over to him. "I seem to have been bested. I congratulate you Mr..."
"Uh Grog. Grog Strongjaw."
"Grog; another word for ale. I like it."
The smitten giant responded with a goofy smile, making (y/n) giggle.
"Damn," she said looking at the time, "we've been here a while. Guess I'll see ya around." (y/n) took her leave, smiling back at the tavern.
--
After spending two nights in town, Vox Machina was ready to press on. They were about to exit when they heard a familiar voice behind them.
"Wait!" The group looked to see (y/n) rushing towards them. She had an unknown object tucked under her arm. Grog's face flushed as she approached them. "I just talked to the innkeeper," she said, "He told me that you were on your way out and that you paid for ale."
"A gentleman must be the one to pay the bill," Percy stated.
She nodded to the gunslinger and turned to Grog, presenting the object him. A gauntlet to be worn on the wrist, forged with obsidian.
"To yesterday's champion," she spoke, "I've been saving it for two-and-a-half years, waiting to gift it to whoever could out drink me."
Grog accepted the gift with awe-stricken eyes.
"It might be a bit small on you but I'm sure you can have it resized."
Grog snatched the bag of holding from Vax and quickly tucked the piece of armor inside.
"One more thing..." (y/n) gestured for him to lean down at which point she pressed a kiss to his cheek. "Until we meet again."
(y/n) trekked back into town as Scanlan hollered, "Alright Grog!" The goliath didn't answer.
"Grog?" Pike spoke. The group looked to see that Grog's eyes were glazed over and he had a slight smile on the corner of his mouth.
"Oh great," Percy spoke, "she stole his heart and his brain."
"What was left of it anyways," Vex added.
It took the whole of Vox Machina to pull Grog along as the band of adventurers continued onward.

Little Slayer 5| TLoVM x platonic!reader
[A/N]: Hey y’all, I hope you are enjoying the series so far. I’m trying to work on Part 6 but I’m running out on ideas on what to do or say so I thought it would be interesting to ask you the readers on what do you think should go on next and if you have any funny-liners to add in haha!
Please let me know in the comments! Now onward to the story!

“I can’t believe it… they’re gone.” came the mournful response of the performing bard, Vax seeing his sorrowful expression as he himself was in disbelief that you had been taken just as fast.
However as he thought about what they should do at that moment, he noticed something was afoot.
Or rather something was missing.
“Surrender? They don’t know it.” a slightly familiar voice spoke. The eyes of the party members sparked in recognition of the voice, though their faces were in disbelief when they saw who had spoken it. “Impossible…” glowered the master of cremation as he lowered his head to look at you as you stood mere kilometers away holding Mythcarver in your hand.
You had managed to get it. ‘By the gods…’ thought the rogue as he could feel the corners of his lips quirk into a proud smile.
“Not ‘impossible’-- ‘I’M’ possible…” you corrected. With a smirk on your lips and with the vestige in hand; you directed Mythcarver to his feet. The dragon let out a guttural growl before looking down to see pouches of something on his left foot that alighted at that moment.
You knew that gunpowder would come in handy.
Multiple explosions reverberated in the area; Keyleth, Pike, Scanlan, and Vax moved out of the way as Scargone was knocked over by his injured foot.
Grog and Vex looked on with incredulous looks on their faces though the half-giants turned into one of glee. “See I told you she can vibrate…” he said proudly as the others recovered from the ground.
You happened to hear him and chuckled at his response but that laughter went away when Scargone set his sights on you.
His eyes seemed to try to read your figure as now that he was able to see you by the light of his flame that their was an air of familiarity surrounding you.
Of course you had no clue on what he thought of at that moment as without a second to waste you charged toward him with Mythcarver at the ready.
Vax however did not want you to further engage. “Scanlan, Keyleth get them!” he ordered as he saw your figure charge at the destructive monster.
From what you could tell all you could hear was white noise as you focused your attention on your oversized opponent who sent out another fury of blue. You dropped down skidding in time to now slide under his belly.
“Where are they?” Scargone hissed as his flame diminished from sight, sensing that you had evaded his attack. He lowered his head in search of you even though you quietly crept out from under his belly to now under his head. What you had in mind since you had the vestige was going to top all the stupidest things you had done so far.
But it would also give Vox Machina an opening when they saw what you would do next even though you couldn’t lie to yourself that it was a little bit scary.
Okay, a lot scary.
‘This is so scary?! Why did I think this was a good idea!?’ you admonished yourself as you tried to keep yourself going on the adrenaline, your lungs desperate for air as much as you tried to stifle your deep breaths. You couldn’t give way to your position no matter how much head damage the beast had as you waited for the exact moment to exact your attack.
You could see it approaching as when he was close enough to the ground, you darted out and climbed as fast as you ever climbed on top of his snout.
“That kid has more balls than I do…” the words spilled out of Scanlan’s mouth as they all witnessed you climb on top of the beast’s nose. “You got that right,” echoed Pike as they saw at first glance how Scargone was trying to make you let go of him.
“But why go on his… nose?” grunted Keyleth as she summoned more vines to pin the lizard’s wings. But her comment brought something to mind for the Matron’s champion as he looked onward to the still resisting beast though more importantly on you.
Then it hit him.
“I see what they are going to do, be on the ready..!” he informed as he ducked out of the way from a near fiery death. “I’m still trying to hold him down!” yelled the air Ashari. “Whatever you have planned, do it without me.”
“I’ll still stay with you,” Pike voiced as she still attempted to assist with all her being. “No Pike, we’re going to need you.” expressed the half-elf as he beckoned for both gnomes to follow after him. The cleric was hesitant, her eyes looking over to see if the Druid would be alright with her leaving only to see her send a look that confirmed it. It was only the four of them now that Percy, Grog and Vex were out of commission.
“GAHH!” you screamed as you tried to hold on.
“You insolent bitch! I’m going to roast you and eat you when I have my claws on you!” you heard Scargone say to you.
“I don’t taste delicious sorry! I think I have diseases!… the plague even!” you shouted as you held on to some nobs on his snout, all the while still holding onto Mythcarver. “Not the point you bastard!” he hissed as he threw his head in an attempt to bite your flailing limbs off or at most get the vestige out of your hands.
You had had it. “Then have tetanus then!” with a war cry that mostly sounded like a scream, you swung Mythcarver jabbing it by your luck a through-and-through into his nostrils.
Scaergone howled in utmost agony as your right arm was bathed in his blood.
Though by his distraction of pain, he had no time to react to the forces assembling behind him.
With a shout of “now”, thanks to Vax’s speed he was able to get Scanlan and Pike to Scargone’s skull and because of their sudden force; their attack was more deadly when they struck him again for the last time.
The dragon let out a wail as he tried to keep his head up until several gunshots penetrated his already wounded weak spots made his once towering head crash to the ground with a loud thud.
The trio having heard the gunshots looked up to see Percy towering over them on another nearby building, blood streaming down his head as he lowered his pepperbox.
“I thought this would never end…” he managed to huff out as Pike and Scanlan cheered in victory. “Me neither..” Keyleth uttered, drained as she leaned onto her staff for support. Out of all of them, she had taken the brunt of managing to stay around to keep Scargone grounded.
“It was thanks to the kid we were able to succeed…” Scanlan said with a smile, being the first to praise you. “Indeed..” Vax shared one as well that was quickly wiped away when he realized you might have not gotten off when they finished slaying the mythical beast.
“Oh shit, are they okay?..!” he quickly got off the slain dragon as he made his way toward the head, the others following in his pursuit. In that moment he did feel slight guilt from how he was acting towards you earlier. But it seemed to vanish as you said “I’m good!” to him when he made his way over. A smile was etched on your lips as you hung over upside down from the snout without a care as if you were not lying on top of a dead dragon.
“Thank goodness you are!” chuckled Pike as she watched Vax help you to get down from the dead beast’s snout. “I still can’t believe you did that..!” Scanlan spoke as Percy rounded the corner with Keyleth. For the most part, they seemed to be out of words to say as you landed down beside the gnome.
“Honestly I can’t believe I did that either!” you half-heartedly chuckled, a bit embarrassed from their praises. “I mean I know you guys said you didn’t need me around but uh… I couldn’t really help myself. I felt like I should’ve been here anyway.” you continued yet you felt yourself averting from their gazes. “I also wanted to properly thank you all from earlier. Can’t do that when you guys are dead, heh.”
“You didn’t really have to do that in more ways than some, but I think I can speak for all that we are glad you did.” Vax was the first to speak in response to your address as his comrades nodded with agreement. “But we would also like to thank you. You did save us in the end.” the freckles woman sent you a smile as you looked to her having heard she was speaking directly towards you.
“I told you they’re the best. They’re my pet after all,” a deep yet familiar voice boasted as you looked over to see Grog being helped by Vex as they approached your group.
“It appears so…” agreed the archer as she sent a nod your way, you taking it as her thanks as Pike raced over to them so that she could put her healing abilities to use.
“You flatter me, I wouldn’t mind actually being a… pet.” suddenly you saw the world going sideways as boots and other things you couldn’t identify filled your vision.
It was then the world turned black.

Day 9 of @fanovember: Vampires.
Percy enters a mansion presumably haunted by a couple of vampire twins, but there's nowhere else to spend the stormy night.
Probably grammar mistakes. Perc'ahlia. Vampires. Side Vaxleth cause i cant help it. Percy is a (literal) wet cat. Enjoy
9. Vampires
The storm was raging and Percy was soaked, as well as his glasses. He could barely see, and his backpack was heavier than usual. It was dark, the only source of light were the lightning that broke the sky in two every minute in a deafening burst also shaking his whole body.
He finally made it to the mansion atop the hill and knocked on the front door. It opened with that mere push, which was strange, given the strength of the wind. Suspicious, Percy entered the hall and closed the door behind him. He shook the water off his head and his glasses and let the backpack down on the floor. There were candles on through the room. “Hello?” Only his own echo answered, along with the muffled storm outside. “Anybody home?” Rain falling on the rose window, but nothing else. “Fuck it.” Percy hung his backpack on his shoulder and started walking towards the stairs, decided to find a room for himself, and maybe even a bathroom.
When he got to the top of the first section, he heard a laugh. A masculine laugh. Percy shook his head. “Don’t let the local stories get into your head. Vampire twins. Yeah, sure. This has been abandoned for years.” Another laugh, a woman this time. Percy turned around to try and see, but his glasses were still dripping. He continued to the first corridor, “Must be my influenced imagination,” he said to himself. He tried opening the locked doors until he found an open one. "Finally!" The fire was set. He let down the back pack and took out everything that would need to dry, mainly clothes.
He barely looked at the bed, neatly made or took out any rations to eat. He sat at the desk with all his tools ready to fix his guns in case they had water inside too. Luckily Bad News didn’t have any, although that wasn’t the case with the pepper-box, so he started working on it silently.
“Need any help?” Percy stood and turned around, pointing Bad News at the source of the voice. A woman sat on the edge of the bed, legs crossed and a hand resting behind her. She laughed. Pointy fangs on sight. “I don’t think that’s going to be of any use, dear.”
“Who are you?”
“Don’t worry, if I wanted to harm you, I would already have done so.”
“Who are you?”
She sighed and stood up too. Percy unlocked the safety catch and she lifted her arms. “My name is Vex, pleasure to meet you, Mr. Big Gun.” Percy didn't laugh with her.
“This is filled with silver bullets, just so you know.”
“Precious, I wouldn’t waste them if I were you.”
“I don’t believe you’re actually a vampire.”
“So, you’re a skeptical one. Well, I’m not here to convince you.”
“Then why?”
“Just to tell you you can stay here for as long as you want, but this is Keyleth’s room.”
That name was familiar, he heard it in the town, when the shop owner told him about the vampires. “That’s the girl you killed.”
Vex bursted a new laughter. “Believe me, killing her is not what my brother did with her.”
“She never went back to town.”
“That was her own decision to make.”
The door opened and both Percy and Vex looked at the girl. “Oh, uhm… hi.” That was the voice he had heard laughing climbing up the stairs. Her teeth didn’t show any signs of vampirism.
“Keyleth, dear, we have a visitor.”
“I see, uhm… I see you made yourself at home already,” she smiled, “Don’t bother to pick anything up, I can sleep in Vax’s room today, uh… What’s your name?”
Percy glanced at Vex side eye and lowered the gun. “Percival Fredrickstein von Musel Klossowski de Rolo III.”
“So…”
Vex walked towards the door and stood next to Keyleth. “Good night, Percy, if you need anything you can pull this cord here. My room is right next to this one, and the next one is my brother’s.”
Percy was pretty sure he didn’t imagine the wink Vex threw at him before disappearing with Keyleth.

Hi hi!! I hope you're having a good day or evening! :3 can I request Wish with Perc'ahlia if it hasn't been done yet??
42. Wish
"Wish is the mightiest spell a mortal creature can cast. By simply speaking aloud, you can alter the very foundations of reality in accord with your desires."
[You had to know this was gonna be painful]
“Is it - Percy, does it make me a terrible person? If I almost wish -” and here she breaks into a raspy laugh, “- if I wish Scanlan hadn’t done it?”
She died. They married. He said a few words.
And now it’s late. So late it’s early, the tide reaching desperately for the moon. Vex can’t find the footprints on the shore. Is grateful she can’t find where she was dragged out.
She can’t rest either, can’t sleep. Which is why Percy has found her here, toeing the seaweed painted up the beach. It’s gross, but it’s something she can feel, to know this terrible day has not been a dream.
Vesper, at least, is asleep. Thank the gods, thank all of them that Cass had retired early and volunteered to keep an eye on her as she slept.
(Last of the de Rolos - really, Sylas? The last and you can’t even boast of the death of a teenager who drove fine steel into your wife’s throat, or the little baby named for a girl you threw from a tower?)
The waves race and die. Vex’ahlia has never been to the ocean much before - here, now, she sees that the ocean does not retreat after it crests the beach. Much of its froth sinks into the sand between her toes, doing its best to drag her down with what strength it has.
There’s three, four deaths around her ankles, sputtering and sighing, before Percy reaches her. It’s so dark - she marvels at how he found her without a candle before remembering. Spying her haloed reflection in the next dark mirror of water to meet them.
“No,” he says. She’d almost forgotten what she asked, the memory washed away, but - “I believe we have sorted this issue before, about being terrible people for wanting simple things.”
Percy pulls her into his side and she sinks into his warmth, turns to press her ear to his heartbeat. In only his sleepclothes (and his coat, of course, but that he drapes over them both) it’s right there, right there.
Vex snorts with little humor. “From snowy Wildemount to the beaches of Marquet,” she says. “How far we’ve come.”
Her husband hums in agreement. Their rings are heavy, grounding - she rubs her thumb over his.
“Was that even Vax?” Some of the ocean’s foam is in her throat. Airy, wet, painful as she tries to breathe. “He - Percy, he hardly smiled. He didn’t laugh.” The Champion of Ravens did not indulge their little spat about the boots, those fucking boots, and - and is that not the true mark of their relationship? The stupid little things?
“I think,” Percy says, “it would be worse if it was not him.”
He tightens his hold on her, like the revelation might give her terrible wings. “Lord knows what his duties have been. I’d rather know the Wish to be true, I think, and uncorrupted… even if it means the time in Her service has changed him.”
“I wish it didn’t,” Vex sniffles. The salt burns. “I wish - fuck. I close my eyes and I see him tonight, Percy. The - the way he moves, the way he talks, the - fuck, he didn’t even kiss Keyleth.” She rubs the heel of her hand into her eye. “Couldn’t keep his - his stupid hands off her, before. Gross.”
Her husband does not point out that the Champion of Ravens, as he is, giving a kiss to the Tempest would likely be just as distressing as this is, if not moreso. She knows he grasps her point just fine.
Before she can lower her hand Percy catches it. Kisses her pulse, to assure himself it’s still there.
“If it’s any comfort,” Percy says to her heartbeat, “I - I don’t know how I would react if I saw my family again. If I hoped, hoped to speak to them again, only to meet -” he stops.
“Vex, dear, none of that.” Gently he dries her tears, doing little for the hot shame coursing through her. In tilting her head she finds tears in his eyes, too. “If you think for a second I envy you - no.”
There’s something he wants to say there. Something like I loved my family but I have grieved. Their chapter is closed and I am content to let it be.
And she has grieved, she has. She thought she had. Then Sylas crawled out of hell, and she still has seawater faintly in her lungs, and her brother is an angel, an angel, and she cannot pretend he is otherwise.
“He didn’t get to see Vesper,” says Vex. “I mean - I mean, she’s too young to remember, anyways, but.”
None of their children will meet their uncle. And that has to be a good thing, it has to be, because to meet him now would mean the worst.
“We should get inside, darling. It’s cold out - we’ll catch our death out here.”
Another hum. They make no move to leave.
The tide begins its lethargic retreat. Before it crept far past her ankles; now it just barely brushes her heel. Is Percy in his socks? They must be soaked, fool man.
“I’m sorry,” he rasps. “I - I wish it was different. I’m sorry.”
She knows why.

It’s a Contract. Chapter 5
Vox Machina Critical Role
Percy De Rolo x Female Human Draconian Warlock! Reader
Tumblr media
Vox Machina was under house arrest in there keep in Amon. Percy was in his room, tinkering with his gun. Every night he relives that very day. He saw the love of his life save him. From what he was told during his torture, she did not make it. She was slain. She sacrificed herself for him. With a whole life ahead of her to be cut down. He lives with the guilt everyday. Sometimes he hears her voice in his head. He can imagine how beautiful she would be now. It was all taken too soon.
He missed her dearly. He held a slight hope that the Briarwoods were lying. He wanted to go back, reclaim what was his, and (possibly) find her. That’s all he thought about when the started there travel back. With the help of his friends, he will save Whitestone and hopefully come back to you.
*Time skip and back to Y/n*
Y/n sat in her room. She sat on a high ledge, waiting for her time. It was close. She sat with her eyes closed. Her keen hearing heard the sharp heels of Dahlia and the click of Silas’s boots coming to her room.
The door opened with a creak. Dull, glowing blue eyes looked at the intruders.
“It’s time. I have a mission for you. Bring Percy to me.”
Y/n’s eyes widened. She refused inside of herself but, her body betrayed her. A voice emitted from her. It was her voice with an undertone of a deep dragon voice.
“Yes. It shall be done.”
She then melted into a mist and disappeared to find the target.
*Back to Percy*
Vox Machina, along with Cassandra, ran down the alleyways, avoiding the giants and fighting the undead. They tried to make it to the safe house that was just a couple more blocks away. They ran 1 more block before a dark mist filled the street, capturing all of their feet and help them in place.
“The smoke.”
Said Keyleth as she poked at the ground with her staff.
“This is not the time, Percy.”
Vex said as she pulled at her feet.
“This isn’t me.”
Percy quickly snapped back as he went to grab his gun. The mist reached up and grabbed everyone wrist, un-arming them in the process.
“I don’t like this.”
Vax said through gritted teeth.
The undead that was coming toward them instantly stop and wondered away from them as if they lost interest.
A figure emerged from the mist in front of them. All they can see is glowing blue eyes. The mist slowly turned into a female figure. There stood a girl with Long sliver hair with horn protruding from the hair. She wore a white dress with metal scale like armor on it. She had long black claws and matching wings from her back. She held a long sword in one of her claws. Her eyes glowed a dull blue but, looked empty, almost dead.
The first one to talk was Grog, who shouted,
“Hey! You better release us or face my wrath.”
The figure said nothing. She locked eyes with Percy. Instantly, he felt a pain in his heart. The familiar pain of guilt over losing Y/n.
“Hey! Are you gonna answer or not?!?”
Yelled Grog once again,, getting even more agitated.
The girl finally spoke,
“I’m not seeking you. Just the gunslinger.”
The voice was dark but, though the darkness of the voice, Percy recognized it. He stared in disbelief. He thought she was lost but, she is alive but, what has she become?
“Y/n?”
The world seemed to stop. The girl looked at him and just blinked. Percy couldn’t hold back the tears that started to form. It was her. The love of his life. He will save her from this as well as the people of Whitestone.
“She’s dead. For she has been dead since the fall. I am not her.”
“You are her! I can hear you!”
Trapped inside, Y/n proceeded to cry. She was trapped until the contract was broken.
“She is not here. She may be inside but, she is not in control. For she has things inside like you. Now, you are coming with me, Percy.”
He stood in shock. He couldn’t believe that Y/n had this inside. She has been the sweetest thing yet, she has this inside.
“Why are you working for the Briarwoods? You know what they have done! How can you do this?!?”
Y/n just stared into space for a second.
“It’s a contract.”
With that, Percy and her disappeared into the mist.
“Percy!” “Hey!”
Exclaimed the group as they left eye site. They were released from the binds that constrained them to the ground. Once they were gone, the hoard was one them once again. They had to run. All they can do is hope he will get out alive where ever he disappeared too.
*To Y/n and Percy*
Percy was enveloped in this mist. All he saw was darkness except the glowing blue eyes of Y/n.
“Y/n! What do you mean it’s a contract?!? Was this your idea? Or this spirit?”
All he heard was a chuckle.
“She’s not here. What doo you think? Do you really think she would come after you? She saved you. She loved you. She crys out to Bahamut himself to keep you safe. Sometimes to make yourself whole, You have to trap the evil.”
“Trap the evil?”
“Since she trusts you, I’ll tell you about the contract. The deal is if the Briarwoods break the contract, I take there souls to make Y/n whole. She lost her soul because she traded it for your freedom. Did you think the only reason you escaped was luck? No, it was Y/N’s trade. That’s the only reason you are here today. Anyway, in the contract, it states that if they try to kill you in front of Y/n it breaks the contracts. They never inquired so, they do not know this. So, if I take you to them, they will try and this breaks the contract, of course, taking a soul takes a little bit so, you and your friends are going to come in handy.”
Percy couldn’t believe what he was hearing. She forfeited her own soul to keep him alive. She did this all for him.
“What’s with this form though?”
“Her favor lets her tap into things no one can. This is the pure power she can acquire so far. There is more she can grow into but, it’s all situational. Protecting you unlocked this. Bahamut graced her with this. It’s a blessing. Not an evil thing. The only reason you see it as such is because of the situation.”
Percy swallowed. He just wanted Y/n to come back. He will do anything to break this contract.
“Let’s go to the Briarwoods and free Y/n.”
“We’re here.”
Suddenly, he was placed in front of Dahlia and Silas. She smiled her sickening smile.
“Amazing job. I knew our contract would come in handy.”
Y/n just stared ahead next to Percy, saying nothing.
“Let’s get this over with. Silas, strike him down.”
Percy saw Silas dash toward him with his sword. He closed his eyes, he will trust Y/n so she can be free.
He heard the familiar clash of blades. He opened his eyes to see Y/n in front of him with her sword. Dahlia gasped in shock.
“What is the meaning of this? You are breaking our contract!”
Y/n’s head cocked slightly. She stated with an even darker voice and her eyes finally glowed with a fury that cannot be kindled. The eyes that they saw from the first fight were even more terrifying.
“No, you have. If you inquired about our contract, you would know trying to kill Percy in front of me breaks the contract. Now, the fear of me in your heart will forfeit your soul. Bahamut shall be your judge. After what you have caused, he will send you straight down.”
With that, Y/n held out her hand. A mist started to in case them from there finger tips. Dahlia let out an angry screech and tried to strike Percy once again.
Y/N just deflected the attacks and they disappeared in a mist once before.
Percy stood there. His hand reached out to her.
“Y/n, are you back?”
Finally, the Draconian Mage smiled at him.
“I’m here and I’m not. I can’t go into my true human form until I take their souls.”
Percy’s eyes watered. Silent tears left his eyes. She is back.
He pulled her into a tight embrace. Y/n hugged back.
“I miss you, My Love. I thought you were never going to come back.”
Y/n giggled,
“You thought I would lose to them? Nah, I got some different plays. This will just make it easier for you to have vengeance. I just need their souls. I think it’s a fair trade. Tell your little demon he doesn’t want to meet mine. I will fight him for my fulfillment.”
Percy just held her tighter. He didn’t want to let go. Y/n just rubbed his back,
“Come on, let’s go and find your friends. Let’s finish this.”
Percy slowly released her and nodded,
“Yes, let’s finish this.”
