Shake hands and give an award to whoever talked about Vax'ildan being the one to keep the team together with the strings of fate or what-not, my memory is bad but I still remember someone mentioning this and just--- holy shit. This hits so hard.

Season 2 LOVM

So I decided to treat myself and go see the first 3 episodes in THEATERS Y’ALL.

Worth it. 1,000%. So cool seeing so many other critters in one place and the gasps of “ohhhhhh” by those who KNOW. I could wax poetic about the dragon designs, the jumpstart on everyone’s emotional journeys with the sphinx,  and just how well I think the story is being adapted, (and that episode 3 ending WHEW) But Ima be honest, I wanna scream about Kash and Zahra XD LEGIT MY FAVORITE PARTS OF CAMPAIGN ONE.

I see a few people being upset about “Zahra is an asshole’ or ‘Kashaw is a creep now!’ Hard disagree. I love the initial antagonism between everyone, it gives the friendship a nice place to grow from (bonding through hardship, and the Sunken Tomb is FULL OF IT.) In the original campaign they were already good friends by this point but I think they’re going to use the Sunken Tomb to being them all together, ESPECIALLY with what happens next. Like I LEGIT hope they can use the show as a way to give us a SMIDGE more insight of Kash’s backstory.And Zahra too! Im so sad they were never more explored on stream.

 And of course we need copious amounts of Kash and Keyleth flirting,  gotta get Zahra and Vax jealous somehow XD (although I wonder if they’re gonna keep a certain smooch canon, hmmmmm)

But Im so excited for more, Im already REALLY happy with how this arc is going.

Percy still being critically bruised and wounded himself but still managing the energy to be there and save Vex. Is just. So...

I'm going to say it again, but I love them both very dearly and the dynamic and their protection for each other.

this shot uses movement and and visual appeal so well that you dont even notice scanlan and grog pissing in the left third at first

Honestly brilliant the way they played off Scanlan’s psychoanalysis by the sphinx as a joke. Its so fitting, especially for a new audience who’s never seen the OG, to see that moment and go “oh haha!! Comic relief character being the comic relief in this tense and emotional moment!” And its so deeply true to the way Sam played Scanlan throughout the entire game. Just a funny little gnome who sang silly songs and got kicked around for jokes. Allowing his friends to so easily forget that he too had feelings, each laugh at his expense cutting just a little deeper than the last. The show is then able to take this idea further, putting us as the audience in the position to laugh at his expense, which i think will only make the payoff of the “whats my mother’s name?” scene even more delicious.

This moment with the sphinx, while only a few seconds, and so subtle, is the deepest insight into Scanlan as a character shown so far in the show, its true meaning masked behind comedic relief, just as Scanlan himself would do time and time again. Beautiful writing.
