I did some paper marbling yesterday and not everything turned out the way I wanted but this one. This is for binding a cannibalism/vore fic. I am so pleased.
I have way too many pencil doodles so have a sprinkle of them
First one is more of @flowercitti ‘s Nick from “Love and it’s decisive pain (Sunlight)” on Ao3 because he has me on a chokehold ever since I read about his moles and pretty hair
Edward Cullen would have had to have been changed between September 21st and November 16th (because of the timing of the Spanish Influenza outbreak in Chicago) so he would have had to face the anniversary of his Mother, his Father, and his own death possibly (depending on how early they died) days after he left his love, whilst already in a massive depression.
the insane experience of posting art and writing online is very funny because people engage with art it's easily and quickly seen and the reactions are instant. writing though, you have to commit to reading a thing. you gotta use those eyes see then your brain has to make sense of those lines and squiggles. i mean yes your brain interprets images but i feel like these are different levels of commitment somehow. anyway a little forehead kiss to anyone who looks at my art/ reads my writing ily
Can we see some more lore of some characters of your choosing? I want to know more, I'm invested
YESSSSS OF COURSE!!!!💕❣️💕❣️💕❣️kinda went a dumped a bunch of stuff here, hope u dont mind!!
in poppys and magos universe wizards and witches are pretty disliked, reason being they tend to be very annoying (exhibit A: lilas and perros town was cursed bc someone ages ago put a wizard in a bad mood and thats why theyve been like that ever since, exhibit B: mago)
so when those two got around to lilas and perros town they werent rlly well received bc of its history but eventually ppl came around to them, a lil bit at least
many of the residents prefer not tho interact w them at all, and considering those two are kind of annoying if they do talk w ppl sometimes they dont rlly get treated well...
BUT!! they found some friends, even tho for some of them ud need to pay em to make them say it out loud
It's a mishandled Marbled Monday with this copy of The O'Donoghue: A Tale of Ireland Fifty Years Ago by Irish novelist and raconteur Charles Lever, Esq (1806-1872). The book was published in 1845 in Dublin by William Curry, Jun. and Company with illustrations by H.K. Browne (Hablot Knight Browne, 1815-1882), an English artist and illustrator also known by his pen name, Phiz. The first illustration in particular caught my eye—it's a guy (and his gun) being thrown out a window with the caption "The Reckoning." And what a reckoning, indeed!
The marbling is a pattern called Spanish Wave that also features brightly colored veining in red, yellow, and a darker blue. I called it a "mishandled Marbled Monday" because of the abrasions to the front and back covers of the book and the library accoutrement attached to the front inside covers. Certainly not how we would treat a book in our collection these days, though this one was recently transferred to our collection from the library's general stacks.
The bookplate that doesn't have a library pocket glued over it is that of the Earl of Mexborough, though which one we aren't sure. It is likely that it was owned by John Charles George Savile, 4th Earl of Mexborough, as he was alive from 1810-1899 and this book was published in 1845. The bookplate features the arms of the Savile family, with three owls on a diagonal stripe, a lion on either side in chains, and an owl atop a knight's helmet at the top. It includes the family motto: "Be fast."
