Now with a part two!

There’s a guy that comes to the cafe Eddie’s working at. Every other day, he comes to the counter, smiles at Eddie and gives him a post-it with “hi, an americano with two sugars please :)” written on it. He has a different color of post-it assigned for every day. Eddie smiles back and makes the americano, trying to keep his heart from jumping out of his chest.

Needless to say, the guy is insanely cute. He has swoopy chestnut hair, droopy, almost puppy-like eyes, and two moles on his neck that make him look like he’s been bitten by a vampire. Eddie’s not sure if he finds it more adorable or sexy; either way, he’s definitely developed a crush. And now, after months of trying to gather up his courage to say hi, after months of pining and staring from afar... He’s still nowhere near ready to talk to him. And Chrissy’s not letting him live it down.

“You’re insufferable,” she whispers to him frantically when the guy comes through the door on the first Monday of December. “Do something more than smile dumbly or I’ll fire you.”

“You can’t fire me,” Eddie hisses back as he tries to dust pastry crumbs off of his shirt.

“I’m the manager. I can do whatever I want,” she chirps back and goes on to cleaning the machines that don’t need to be cleaned, because Eddie did that twenty minutes ago.

The guy comes to the counter. There are snowflakes in his hair, big and soft. Eddie thinks that they compliment his eyes—then he realizes that it’s a weird thing to notice about a stranger.

The stranger smiles. Eddie smiles back. Today’s post-it is light purple.

Eddie makes the americano. It’s muscle memory at this point, he’s not even thinking about what he’s doing until he has to force a lid onto the cup and serve it to his customer. Hell, whatever. He grabs a sharpie and bends down to drabble something on the cup, trying not to spill the coffee. He manages to draw an ugly looking snake that was supposed to be a dragon, cringes, writes “Have a nice day!” underneath it and prays that it isn’t too weird.

Of course it is. But, miraculously, the guy looks at it, huffs a tiny laugh and smiles right at Eddie and – yeah, whatever, curse him – the whole room lights up. Yes, it’s sappy. Sue him. He could be sappy for this guy—if the guy wanted it.

He takes his coffee and leaves, but before he crosses the threshold, he turns back and waves at Eddie, using only three fingers. It’s a small wave, but a wave nonetheless, so Eddie sends him his best grin and waves back.

When he’s finally out, Eddie bends over the counter and groans. Chrissy pats him between the shoulderblades, mocking sympathy. “You’re on probation,” she whispers. Eddie groans once again. This is hell.

He has to call in sick on Wednesday. Now that he’s thinking about it, he kind of knew that the mayo smelled funny and it wasn’t good anymore. But he’s a broke college student and he had a choice: stale bread with mayo and a slice of tomato, or just stale bread with a slice of tomato. These weren’t even real choices. It was suffering or suffering.

Apparently, he’d chosen double suffering, and he had a whole night of hurling to prove it. Good thing he doesn’t have to send Chrissy any photos of what he had to deal with – when he calls, she cuts him off with “Just take my afternoon shift tomorrow and we’re even. You’ll miss out on your cutie, it’s a punishment in and of itself,” and goes on with her day.

Eddie’s so grateful for Chrissy. He wouldn’t get anywhere without her.

Eddie doesn’t expect his guy to come on Thursday, it isn’t his regular schedule, so he’s in for a surprise when his morning shift ends and turns into Chrissy’s afternoon shift, and then, some time later, his guy comes in—and he’s not alone.

He’s with a girl. With a pretty, pretty girl, who has beautifully curly brown hair, inquisitive eyes and kind but determined expression on her face. There’s something quite unique about her; Eddie thinks, briefly, that she looks like she’s from another era. Like if they were living in the 80s, she would have a perm, wear bold lipstick and have a whole wall of degrees and certificates in her office. She seems to be destined for great things. She’s a badass.

Eddie’s nothing like her. He tries to swallow down the jealousy as they near the counter. His – his? – guy looks surprised, but smiles either way, his eyes lighting up in a matter of seconds.

“Hi,” the girl says. Her own smile is so nice and warm Eddie can’t stay mopey for too long. “I’ll have a latte with two shots of espresso, and…”

She turns to the guy beside her, but Eddie doesn’t have to know the answer. “An americano with two sugars. On it.”

Their eyes lock for a second. The guy seems a bit shy, but he’s still smiling. Eddie counts that as a win. But he’s still quick with their coffees. He can sense the staring contest they’re having even while he has his back turned to them. He kinda wants them gone, but they didn’t ask for to go, so he just tries to stay calm. Focused. Sharp.

Fortunately, he doesn’t spill anything. They get their order and sit in a corner. It doesn’t look like a date, they pull out books and notes, scribble and sign from time to time. The girl clearly knows more than just the basics of ASL, unlike Eddie. Since the guy started showing up, he’s been trying to learn more about it, but now he makes a mental note to enroll on a course. It’s time to commit – to what, exactly, he’s not sure. But he’s gonna make it happen.

Hours pass, but they stay in the same position. Eddie steals a glance every now and then, trying not to let his jealousy get to the surface again, but it’s hard. The guy is cute, the girl is smart and beautiful. He decides to call Chrissy on his way home – if he has to pine, she’ll suffer with him.

The end of his shift is nearing when he hears a giggle from the godforsaken corner. He looks up from the cups he’s been rearranging and sees that it’s his guy’s girl who’s laughing. She’s laughing at yet another girl, who’s standing outside and drawing hearts on the dirty window. She has a goofy grin on her face, one that makes her eyes and her prominent cheekbones pop even more, and it’s the same grin that the girl inside is wearing at the moment.

Now, Eddie doesn’t know a lot about love, but he definitely recognizes heart eyes when he sees them. He smiles to himself – don’t judge a book by its cover, huh?

His guy looks exasperated about being completely ignored, so he taps the glass a few times. The girl outside looks at him, shocked, like she’s only just seen him now, sticks out her tongue at him, and goes back to blowing kisses at her girlfriend. The guy looks truly wounded. Eddie snorts; the dynamic here is immaculate.

In the meantime, the not-his-guy's girl has gathered her things and prepared to leave. She kisses his cheek on her way out, but the guy stays put, bending over his papers again. Eddie thinks it’s quite interesting. Then, he makes a plan.

When he’s done with work, his guy is still there. Which is perfect. Eddie fixes his hair one last time, trying to gauge whether his outfit is metal enough (it is) for the occasion, and grabs the americano with two sugars he’s made.

It’s alright. Everything’s alright.

His wildly beating heart isn’t so sure about that.

When he gets to his guy’s table, he sets the piece of paper on it first. “Looks like you’re swamped – it’s on the house,” it says. The guy looks up, surprised, his mouth opened in a tiny oh. His eyes go wide for a moment and then he smiles. Something warm settles inside Eddie’s chest.

The guy picks up a pen and writes “Thank you!!!” on Eddie’s piece of paper, but before giving it back, he changes his mind. “I’m Steve,” he scribbles, and then gives it back with a flash of smile.

He smiles a lot. It’s an amazing sight.

“Hello, Steve. I’m Eddie. Nice to meet you,” Eddie replies. “What are you working on?” he adds after a second, because he’s feeling bold and he really doesn’t want to go yet.

The guy – Steve – sighs. He makes some room on the loveseat he’s occupying and pushes his books to the middle. Eddie takes it as a cue to sit down. Their knees bump, Eddie gets goosebumps, but he doesn’t move away. Neither does Steve.

“I’ve got an assignment on modern fantasy and its mythological origins, but I’m not as nerdy as my friends so I’m struggling a bit. Nance helped, but she’s not an expert either and my other nerdy friends went for a trip. Maybe you have any experience?”

Eddie’s eyes open wide and he bounces with excitement, nodding his head along the way. “YES,” he writes, all caps, and Steve huffs another laugh. They look at each other then, Eddie all hyped and ready, Steve—soft? There’s no other way to describe it. His gaze is gentle, almost caring. Eddie can feel his cheeks warm up.

His phone buzzes aggressively in his pocket. He checks it – it’s Chrissy. She’s got her period and she’s out of tampons.

“Shit,” he mumbles. Steve bumps their shoulders.

“What’s up?” he asks.

Eddie picks up the pen. “Tiny emergency, I’m sorry. Tomorrow?”

He knows that his hopeful stare must seem desperate, but Steve reads his reply, looks up and smiles, nodding. Eddie wants to scream victory, but he only nods back and gets up instead. When he’s about to turn and leave, he feels fingers wrap around his hand, delicate but firm. Slowly, Steve opens up his hand and writes something on it.

It’s a phone number. “In case you get sick again :)”

Eddie can’t hold back his dopey smile any longer. When he looks at Steve, the corners of his lips quirk up too. He’s lovely.

Eddie can’t wait for tomorrow.

TS 11 is the final show before the death and rebirth of Taylor Swift. And here’s how we know.

I saw this yesterday (thanks @spade-riddles and @corneliastvendor ) reacting to the latest TN post of Taylor's funeral image from the Anti Hero mv with the 11 cats. And I think there's more to add to this.

11 cats, 11 albums and 11 messages from 🎃anon. What comes after 11? 12. And at 12 o'clock we meet her at midnight. We've known it for over a year now. And it's interesting that we now know she has chosen the colour white to represent her 11th album. White represents a clean slate, rebirth, but also surrender. And talking of album colours, here's one more thing that I think it worth revisiting that supports this theory (it may already have been pointed out, sorry if I'm repeating things), the orange door that has haunted us for almost a full year now:

As the door descends during the karma set, the space above it turns purple, then blue. The door itself is orange and the path that it's coming down on is white. So, orange (karma) follows purple (speak now tv) and blue (1989tv) and the path that paves the way for it to 'drop' is white (TTPD). In the comments for this tiktok, somebody also pointed out that the dancers for this set are arranged in two clusters, one with Taylor in the centre line and one with a dancer in an orange jacket with bleach blonde hair, looking much like the 2016 bleachella Taylor that we assumed might be the look of a new era (now assumed to be karma). So, with all the recent emphasis on the number 2 ✌🏼✌🏼, could this be the hint that karma is coming in the wake of TS11, maybe as a double drop? Personally, I think that's more plausible than a secret drop before April 19th, which is also a theory that I've seen, but I think it's unlikely (but what do I know...).

What I'm more convinced of it that we can stop anticipating rep and debut (tv) because those two will be replaced with karma. Remember, rep tv and all the hints to snakes and black clothing, were red herrings. Rep tv is not coming, karma is. Exile ended at 2, there was never a 1 or 0. We are down to 2 re-records but they won't come as expected, "reputation is an illusion" or whatever the message was. In any case, when that orange door hits the ground it's go time and I think we are closer than we think. I've seen so many people last year say 'When she plays Dear Reader and You're Losing Me as surprise songs it's on' and now she's played both of those in one week, immediately followed by a three song mash up of Getaway car/august/TOSOTD. So... escape the closet to the other side of the door in August? 😉

MYTHICAL EXES my beloved i haven't worked on this one in months but i think about it every day. the gist of it is: Mythical exes to lovers au where siren Steve and vampire Eddie broke up several hundred years ago and haven't seen each other in centuries until they become the frontmen of two different famous rock bands in the modern era. here's a little snip!

But that voice - oh, that voice. Eddie would recognize it in the great beyond, at the ends of the earth and time itself. Never mind that it's been years - been centuries. Ethereal and haunting, rich and beautiful, the sound of it snakes its way through him, ensnares around his heart and demands his attention. He turns from the bar, leaning his elbows back against it, and there he is.

Tall, but stronger than he'd been. Hair that same dark chestnut shade, eyes that same warm brown. The way he wraps his hands around the mic stand is obscene, and his lips, petal pink, have a sheen to them - he'd always loved the cosmetics of his era, it's no surprise he'd been drawn to the pretty, shiny things this day and age have to offer too.

His liner is thick and dramatic, his lashes long and dark. Glitter sits high on his sharp cheekbones, catching the dim lighting of the bar that casts him in beautiful pinks and blues and purples, reflecting off the gems that seem to drip from his frame. Some kind of harness, Eddie thinks, but done in thin, spiderweb-like chains rather than leather, strings of pearls and shiny stones hanging from them and concealing absolutely nothing of the tan chest beneath it. They throw prisms across the bar as he moves, hips swirling in a hypnotic spin to the guitar.

Steve's eyes cut upwards, sliding over the crowd as if he's searching for something before coming to a stop directly on Eddie. He doesn't miss a beat of his song, but a slow, pleased smile slips its way onto his pretty face. He cocks his head, eyes hooded, and Eddie wonders if he'd been summoned here by this creature, by the one being he'd never quite learned how to say no to.

He lifts his glass in a toast and a greeting all in one and watches that smile turn sharp.

DR broke the curse btw. Ninjago's two big eras, MoS and 2019-2022, both had a first season where the main villains were snakes. Dragons Rising did not do the tired and boring snake villain. The closest we have are the Merlopian Gang and that purple Hypnobrai, but the 1st were mind controlled and the 2nd is one person

WELCOME BACK TO THE ERAS TOUR!!!!

I will be your host as we recap this chaotic night in Paris Night 1!!!!!

🚨spoilers below!!! 🚨

Immediately we saw a new body suit for lover it was redish and we also got an orange blazer

The Archer was cut from the lover set

We got a new fearless outfit it was OG Fearless with black and silver

Red moved to after fearless

The 22 now reads “This is not Taylor’s version”

Speak now was after red with a new intro it had some amazing choreography going on

We got a new speak now dress it was nudey purple with sparkles (this might be my favorite one yet!)

Long live was cut from the show and also castles crumbling did not get play as hoped

Then we went into Rep which was business as usual no new fit 🥲

The transisition from Rep to Folklore/Evermore was a snake into a garden

We got a new outfit for 1989 which reminded me more of 1989 world tour look it was a pink top with blue skirt and mismatched booties

The TTPD set started with But Daddy I love Him in a white dress with writing that appears to say I love you it’s ruining my life

Then she did a small part of So High School and went into Who’s Afraid Of Little Old Me? And then Fortnight into The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived there was also a small interlude for down bad

Finishing it off with an outfit change and I Can Do It With A Broken Heart which was all put together was a “Feminine rage musical”. Masterpiece yet just as much heartbreaking.

From here we went into surprise songs with a brand new pink dress where she sang Paris (obviously) and loml

AND FINALLY! We got a new outfit for the midnights bodysuit!!!!

alright to you lovely people who sent us asks about the party's eras tour outfits, i present to you:

The Eras Tour (Party Version)

el - el is a speak now girly through and through!!! i mean come on, the purple aesthetic of it all, plus the fun, whimsical vibe you can go with to dress up on the tour! and you know she has 13 painted on her hand and song lyrics written on her arm.

max - reputation EASILY. let’s be serious, max is such a reputation girly, so you know she’s going all out with her black outfits and the snake jewelery and some killer makeup (think smokey eye and dark lipstick).

lucas - LOVER!!!! we are firm believers that lucas is a lover fan, and it’s a fun opportunity for him to do something different and wear some sequined or more colorful outfits. plus max as rep and lucas as lover is absolutely iconic.

dustin - i think dustin decided to go to the tour because all his friends are going, so he’s not really going all out for a costume! but he did snag a shirt like one of these which was simply iconic of him

mike - mike also doesn't really strike any of us as a flashy guy, so he's probably not going to wear anything too fancy or out there. mike goes with rep and wears some leather pants with a button down top plus some slightly heeled boots. (he did, in fact, enjoy being even taller than will than he normally is, but that's besides the point.)

will - will decided to go full debut. i’m talking country overalls but paired with a mesh t-shirt underneath. he mostly does it just to fuck with everyone but also maybe mike especially. no noah schnapp hat though, thank goodness. (also apparently mesh shirt + overalls combo is impossible to find so use your imagination)

a/n: co-written by @nutellani and i. this was originally just going to be stored in my notes app because i had a big brain thought but then i decided that tumblr doesn't have enough tig content and i needed to help change that. i got stumped on a few things, so i of course asked my lovely mutual nova for some assistance <3 (tysm!!)

aaaanway, enough about that, here you go:

they obvi went to the concert in texas. they probably got tickets for both arlington and houston bc rich people yk

nash wore a sparkly cowboy hat and so did libby

(idc what you say, in my head, he likes glitter and i will stand on that hill)

in fact they all wore sparkly cowboy hats (xander forced grayson), but nash and libby's were matching

grayson ofc is wearing all black, very rep era but he's secretly a lover girl at heart. he also likes midnights because let's face it- who doesn't??

but everyone convinced him to get his jacket embroidered with "ts" and a few snakes along the sleeves and back to pull together the whole rep look

i don't think i finished talking about nash and libby?? anyway, matching sequin cowboy hats, nash wore a flannel with patches from different albums

him and libby spent a whole night designing it

libby wore a tee shirt from the midnights album

and the night before, nash and libby painted her favorite lyrics on some black cargo pants and some cute lil doodles

nash totally wrote N+L on one of the pockets inside a big red heart because i said so

very cute couple moment

thea is in her rep era because she's a badass so she wore all black with some maroon to make her outfit pop, she got her nails done and everything

girl was drop dead gorgeous

rebecca went with a more simplistic look, lavender flowly dress just under the knee, with a cardigan. yes, the cardigan. rebecca gives off very mellow and soft vibes so i think that's why she went with an evermore themed outfit

now, onto avery. i think her favorite albums is midnights and rep because of the vibe of the songs and overall it is just SO HER and i feel like she wore a shirt with the midnights album cover on it. she also wrote her favorite lyrics from the album on the front of the shirt with a fabric pen or something of the sort. i can also see her wearing a rep outfit too tho!! she is rich so since she could go to two concerts and wear both outfits ig lol

jameson is a total swiftie!! xander is too but we'll get to that next this boy would really like 1989 and a good handful of songs from lover because they remind him of avery

he would wear something 1989 themed but also something sorta flashy, i think

now moving onto max

she for sure loves the love triangle in folklore/evermore but also enjoys midnights

she radiates night owl energy because she'll stay up until 4am to finish a really good plot twisty dark romance novel and the whole track (midnights 3am edition) reminds her of her favorite ships. she makes edits and you can't convince me otherwise. although max does love evermore, she would totally love speak now era taylor and therefore would wear that really pretty purple sparky dress on the album cover!!

xander totally bought it for her

and with max looking like a literal princess, he would be mad blushing

and when he snaps out of his daze, he would tell her how pretty she is because let's face it- max is beautiful

now, as mentioned before, xander is a hardcore swiftie and i will always think this

he is a lover lover, so definitely went with a hat of the colors on the album

totally bitch-slapped toxic masculinity in the face by wearing pretty pastels

and definitely had the jacket from the yntcd MV!!

their favorite eras (and moments i suppose) on tour:

nash: debut, fearless

we love his nomad cowboy vibes

he also definitely vibes along with whatever libby likes too because he's down bad-

grayson: red

definitely shed a few tears during all too well ten minute version even though he tried to hide it

cus it reminded him of emily

i hate her with a passion

this isn't about her though

he loved the song and performance for 22 since he's in his 20's and his family is always telling him to loosen up

attending this concert definitely helped him

jameson: 1989

screaming along to style for sure!! me and nova were talking a bit about how he fits the description-

me and nova totally weren't fangirling over this, i have no idea what you're talking about-

xander fs would start dancing with max and singing softly when taylor sang lover

and nash caught it all on camera

more specifically, WCS because she could relate to "give me back my girlhood, it was mine first"

i know that she wasn't a teen when they were in a relationship but she was still young, and he was toxic asf

aaaanyway, she would also love when tay performed vigilante shit

tay slayed so hard (i had to tell myself to turn down the gay because my mom and sister were at the concert with me lmao)

everyone felt things when taylor did that performance, to say the least

ik thea and practically everyone else would be in awe~

thea: reputation

would scream along to don't blame me

and she would sound amazing because there's nothing she can't do bffr

and rebecca would be like "damn how'd i get so lucky"

thea would also love karma from midnights because i feel like she's the type of person to not give af about other people and their opinions cus she knows that bad things are coming their way

but she could also shit talk and stand her ground (and also fight)

i also think that that one part of don't blame me, "don't blame me, love made me crazy if it doesn't, you ain't doing it right" and "my drug is my baby" she would sing while making eye contact with rebecca

she would sing and sway softly and thea would take such a beautiful candid photo of her while she sings aksjaja

and when cardigan plays, she would grab thea's hand and dance with her, foreheads touching

this time, xander would take a photo of them like that and it becomes thea's homescreen

thea would also love champagne problems omfg-

rep gf x evermore gf is such a cute dynamic and they slayed so hard

and nowww avery: rep and also midnights!!

bonus: i almost forgot to include oren and alisa, im so sorry, im very sleepy!! anyway, oren refuses to wear anything other than his usual attire meanwhile this concert is one ofbthe very few instances where you see alisa in casual clothes. not many people know (other than the hawthornes of course) that she's a swiftie because she always acts so professional. she wears that one red letters shirt that says "who's taylor swift, anyway? ew." and everyone does a double take cus she also has her hair down and doesn't look formal lmao. during some songs avery looks over her shoulder and swears she could see oren have the slightest smile and head-bumping along to the music.

to wrap it all up, they would ALL HAVE THE NUMBER 13 PAINTED ON THEIR HANDS IN DIFFERENT COLORS AND FONTS!!

and also a little extra because me and nova were having big brain moments and i HAVE to include it, it would be a crime if i didn't

They would all scream to paper rings but guess what else?? a PROPOSAL!!

my nashlibby brainrot needed to be included even more:

"i love shiny things but id marry you with paper rings" is so them because even tho they're rich, they value the little things <3

libby is so into the performance, it takes her a minute to realize that the stage screen is on her

she's confused because why would the cameras be on her??

and then taylor would point just behind her to where nash was on one knee

the ring wasn't shiny, it was literally a paper ring

nash didn't have a full on speech planned out

but of course libby would say yes

they kiss, it's on the big screen and everyone (taylor, backup dancers, everyone) cheers

it was caught on camera by practically everyone which leads to their engagement going viral all over tik tok and other media platforms!!

after the concert, back at Hawthorne House, they made a resin/epoxy(i think that's what it's called) mold to preserve the ring, and keep it from getting damaged

and the end because not only can i not think of anything else, but it's 4am while i save this to my drafts-
