i have sooo many mixed opinions on this album that are still a big jumble in my brain but i adore these songs in specific!

I love your interpretation but unfortunately sometimes a lot of things go over my head jdidkfj so I wanna ask are you saying the "Angel" in that storyline/interpretation is referring to substances OR it's a person he's seeking sex with (what I initially thought the song was about LOL) as another form of escapism, to 'save him from himself' before it gets too bad?

When he said he wrote a lot of songs similar to the theme of New Angel and how it's darker than it sounds and when you listen to the lyrics you can just tell how he was in a bad place mentally so my brain went to that line of thinking, I thought maybe it's about depression and coping with it in unhealthy ways; sex, drugs etc. idk if it's appropriate to talk about this as a fan but Niall does seem to have self deprecating habits as coping mechanisms so I'm so happy to see him thriving and happy now. like the contrast between New Angel and Save My Life is just! warm.

the only reason why i assume it’s substances and not a person is bc niall writes about people, especially women, in a very unique way that isn’t seen in new angel in my opinion

i don’t think it’s inappropriate, we’re not discussing anything he hasn’t done publicly. he does seem to have self deprecating habits, as does everyone it’s only natural, but his whole demeanor now versus in the past is so much sunnier 🥹☀️

what confuses me about him saying it's about something that he won't mention is that this just brings more attention/speculation to whatever he doesn't want to mention like he could give a general interpretation or not say anything at all and now all i keep thinking about when i hear it is the darker meaning😭 but anyway the important question is when is he going to play it live it is so good we have to hear the live version!!

i think that was his intention! the whole theme of heartbreak weather is contrasting feelings/perspectives occurring at the same time, so i think that added detail to what the lyrics already describe, is meant to add to the mystery.

what would you say new angel is about? like i need this spelled out for me. i’ve seen so many references of people mentioning drugs as the “darker meaning” but i don’t really know

so i could have SWORN i did an in depth analysis on new angel but i can’t find it in my archive or in any of my friends/mutuals archives (so maybe we just talked about it in a group chat and i forgot oops!) but i touched on it a little when Heaven first came out!

this is obviously just my opinion and interpretation, so the only person who knows the facts is niall horan! but, this is why most people believe there is a darker meaning behind such an upbeat song:

in the spotify notes niall says new angel is “about something in particular- that i won’t mention” which is the first indication it has to do with substances. also the lyrics “to save me from myself” contributes to that as well because even though the song is upbeat, the lyrics are quite dark and about being lonely and needing to be saved from himself… so i don’t want to fully say self harm because the implications of that are very personal and heavy, but he clearly wasn’t taking care of himself. this is also highlighted during the bridge “i’ll give you what’s left of me, cus you feel so heavenly” he’s quite literally telling us he’s deteriorating but the feeling in the moment is too good. which is immediately followed by “i don't know what's best for me” !!!!!!!!!!! like i fee like that line is self explanatory

also i feel it’s important to note that during press for heartbreak weather, he constantly brought up the fact that he loves to make sad songs sound like happy songs, so if he were to ever disguise a dark song with an upbeat production, it would be on the heartbreak weather album.

but everyone has a different interpretation of music and at the end of the day, niall wants his music to relate to the listener instead of his personal life so don’t take any of this as me stating a fact about his life.

so we all believe these anons about niall and amelia breaking up/bad relationship are being sent by the same person… right? because i am constantly seeing my mutuals and people i follow get them and they’re all written in the same way…

Someone said 2 years ago they saw Niall flirting with a girl at the masters so either that was Amelia or he was actually flirting with a girl behind her back🥴

that wasn't the masters, it was a different golfing event in palm springs. idt she was there but god knows what the "flirting" looked like, he could've just been nice and they took it as flirting lmao not that deep and happened ages ago
