#The Kingdom who has only been trying to survive and did not start an attack on anyone?

It's surreal how Leicester will attempt to calmly talk to the Empire army (Ferdie, at the beginning of the game) but does not for a single second consider extending this to the Kingdom
Like some general gets the choice to fight or surrender, but the King of the neighboring country that you keep claiming you don't want to fight? He gets no choice at all

Okay.. so... fairly long post under the cut with the sort of background to my Sonic Underground AU!! If anyone's interested fjdgv I have thought about it a Lot lol
So basically, The background is that Eggman has definitely been up to shit since before Sonic was born lol and one of his sort of things when he I guess started out in villainy ? was he started trying to claim land and take over so that he could build his cities and theme parks and factories and what have you and rule over everything. So, after claiming some untouched land he started attacking “Mobian'' settlements, (not sure whether to stick with Mobian or what but the word gets my point across so I’m using it now sfgdh) and I guess started working his way up until he found Christmas Island, which is the small Kingdom Aleena ruled over at the time. This caused the Kingdom to fight back and started a war with Robotnik. However. Obviously the warzone was no place to be raising the Very recently born heirs to the throne (the three who would grow up to be Sonia Sonic and Manic, they might’ve had different names back then lol) and so Aleena with a Very heavy heart sent the three Far away, they had them sent to a dinky little orphanage in a fairly distant zone, intending to pick them back up when the war was over.
Unfortunately, Very early on in the triplet’s stay at the orphanage, when they were still practically babies, an unfortunate cot placement led to Manic being kidnapped sometime in the dead of night (don’t ask why they did it I just think it’s funny love and light). He was taken to a nearby city, and somehow managed to endear himself to Ferral, the leader of one of the larger sort of crime rings active there. This is where he learned to get by and live and thrive, little crime family they love each other and rag on each other so much smile smile smile.
Sonic stayed in the orphanage a lot longer than Manic, but doesn’t really remember his time there all that much. As soon as Sonic figured out how to, he ran. Ran as fast and as far as he was able. Ran until he had no idea how to get back. But he'd not a guilt on his conscience. He was free, for the first time felt truly free. He learned how to survive on his own and met a little two tailed fox cub and his life played out pretty much exactly the same as it does in the main line continuity :)
Sonia is the only one of the three who has any memory of staying in the orphanage and was the only one to leave there by regular means dgfhfg. At about five years old, she was one of a few girls from across the continent to be chosen to attend and live at an all girls school where they would grow into proper ladies™, being taught etiquette and manners and so on. She managed a fairly cushy lifestyle here but was never truly happy there. She obviously has her besties like Mindy, but it always felt far too restrictive and (figuratively) cold. So while she does do well there, she is slightly prone to getting in trouble and feels kind of belittled and invisible among her peers at times
So in the triplet’s maybe 3rd year? The war on Christmas Island ended and the Mobians were unfortunately forced to go into hiding. Aleena made it out and went into her own hiding in the form of laying low in a residential area in a nearby city, and attempted to blend in there for a few years before making the trip to finally reunite with her children. Unfortunately by the time she gets there, all three are gone :( Even though the orphanage may know where Sonia is, she feels as though she has failed all three as their mother and wouldn't be able to face any of them (despite the fact they're like. 6 year olds lol), and so retreats back to her city home.
Until, over a decade later, Aleena sees the world renowned hero Sonic the Hedgehog that she hears so much about, (maybe he’s just saved that part of the city from a badnik attack or something like that) and there is just… something about him that is so uncannily like her Bernie… His heroism and humility right down to his mannerisms, the being blue also adds to the effect. And… Aleena is not one to get her hopes up, but the chance of this being one of her missing children after all these years…
Then I’m thinking maybe, she is wearing the equivalent of the three medallions and, maybe as she gets closer to Sonic one of them has some sort of magical reaction ? or something I’m not actually sure. But something DOES confirm to Aleena that This is one of her kids oh my god!! And he’s just like his (other) mother… Aleena gets overwhelmed and ends up not talking to him. Sonic maybe notices someone in a long flowy jacket running away from the crowd, but gets distracted by the many other thankful citizens around him to really take note of it lol
This is when Aleena writes her letter to Sonic. She looks him up, tries very hard to find out where he lives. Ultimately coming up with nothing she’s like IS MY BOY HOMELESS?? But then what comes up eventually is a plethora of small garages and laboratories under the name Dr. Miles Prower and is like Oh! An apprentice maybe :) lol and so she rolls the dice and chooses one of those locations at random and hopes her message gets to him soon.
This is just the leadup to what would be the "main plot" of the AU and I do have more for it!! So if this like. Text based way of explaining my ideas is alright I can share more from the google doc if ppl are interested!! And maybe I'll doodle some stuff for it here n there who know (seems likely tho lol)

back AGAIN for another addition of ‘why these changes make me go insane’. let’s talk about scorpius/dementor scene, and his convo with albus once he returns! the west end version is different to broadway version so i wrote both down.
Dementor scene -
OG:
Snape: You're a king, and I'm a professor. They'll only attack with good reason. Think about those you love, think about why you're doing this.
Scorpius: I can hear my mother. She wants me — my help — but she knows I can't — help.
Snape: Listen to me, Scorpius. Think about Albus. You're giving up your kingdom for Albus, right? One person. All it takes is one person. I couldn't save Harry for Lily. So now I give my allegiance to the cause she believed in. And it's possible — that along the way I started believing in it myself.
Scorpius: The world changes and we change with it. I am better off in this world. But the world is not better. And I don't want that.
Current: West End
Snape: You're a prince, and I'm a professor. They'll only attack with good reason. Think about those you love, think about why you're doing this. Think about Albus. One person. All it takes is one person. I couldn't save Harry for Lily. So now I give my allegiance to the cause she believed in. It’s possible — that along the way I started believing in it myself. Who are you fighting for?
Scorpius: Albus. I think I’m fighting for Albus.
Current: Broadway
Snape: Occupy your thoughts. Think of these you love. One person, all it takes is one person. I couldn't save Harry for Lily. So now I give my allegiance to everything she fought for. Who are you fighting for?
Scorpius: Albus. I think I’m fighting for Albus.
Slytherin Dormitory/Owlery scene -
OG:
Albus: But you changed things. You had a chance and you changed time back. Changed yourself back.
Scorpius: Only because I knew what I should be.
Scorpius: But it didn't. And you're to thank for that as much as me. When the dementors were — inside my head — Severus Snape told me to think of you. You may not have been there, Albus, but you were fighting - fighting alongside me.
Current: West End
Albus: But you changed things. You had a chance and you changed time back. You changed yourself back.
Scorpius: Albus, what you need to understand is, I changed myself back because of you. When the dementor was inside my head, Severus Snape asked me who I was fighting for, and I said you.
Albus: Did you?
Current: Broadway
Albus: But you changed things. You had a chance and you changed time back.
Scorpius: Albus, what you need to understand is, I changed myself back because of you. When the dementor was inside my head, Severus Snape asked me who I was fighting for, and I said you.
Albus: Did you?
Scorpius: You may not have been there, Albus, but you were fighting alongside me.
…now friends, what do we think about that???
The dementor scene, scorpius doesn’t even think of his mother anymore and goes straight to albus without a doubt. His reason for fighting back is albus. Not his mother anymore, and not that he is better in this world but the world is not better???? Whatever that means xx
The talk between these to lovers is very different! Scorpius reveals that albus is the reason he survived that world. It truly just reinforces that albus is the most important person in his life, and now albus is aware of this. And although it’s not like a ‘love confession’ or whatever, albus is completely surprised by this and doesn’t know how to react. I feel like this moment is where Albus actually feels wanted because as we know… our boy has some issues. So after hearing his ‘best friend’ say that he was the reason he survived, the ‘palace’ line he says in the last scene together, kind of mirrors this moment. As in that scene, albus is trying to show scorpius that he matters to him and wants him all to himself and NOT ROSE. This moment almost gives him the confidence to take the next step in their ‘relationship’.
when you compare these scripts, it’s actually impossible to deny that these changes were made for the benefit of this relationship. I just want to have a friendly chat with whoever made these changes which have caused me to go into a downwards spiral xx
don’t even get me started on why they changed “Scorpion King” to “Scorpius Prince” coz i literally have no clue and it makes me frustrated UGHHH.
mhmm get a good lawyer! - t swift

Don't Tell (part 3)
Mako x Reader (secret relationship)
Part 1. Part 4. M.list
Tumblr media
Mako x Earthbender reader
You being touch starved for years suddenly have an intense crush on mako after he put himself in danger for you and the safety he provides following the attack. You both keep your relationship under wrap from the krew. You both don't want to deal with everything that follows them finding out.
Tumblr media
You walked out of your apartment. The night sky was above. it was almost time for the mover. You met with Mako. You handed him his keys that you still had from this morning.
"So, good news. I am free to go to the firelily festival." Mako took the keys. He put them in and revved the bike. You sat down behind him, holding on.
"Really? Im so excited!" You wrapped your arms tighter around him as he drove around.
"I'm thinking of ditching the mover and us going on our first date."
"But, people are going to start questioning us." You warned.
"Let them. Its none of their business, and we can come up with an excuse. It's the only time we will know where everyone is, and we can go out without watching our backs."
"But Bolin..." you trailed.
"He isn't in the mover, so he won't be upset about it." He assured.
"Alright. Where do you want to go?"
"I'm thinking of a nice dinner date and then a walk on the beach."
"The Yue Bay Diner?"
Mako nodded. Changing his direction to head to the diner. Your hands held tight to his waist as he sped up. He took a few turns before he slowed down at a stop light.
He dropped his hand off the bar, resting it on your knee. His thumb rubbed back and forth. Every chance he had, he wanted to feel you with him. He didn't want to ever remember the feeling of not being touched. He hadn't had a mother or father to hug him or kiss his forehead before bed. It was something that troubled him. He wanted to have love. He wanted to experience his love language with every opportunity. He was deprived of it for so long.
You gave it willingly, not knowing what it did for him. You hadn't even considered he was the same as you had been. He was Mako, the hot firebender cop. Certainly, you were competing somewhere at some point in time. You had always known he had good looks, that was never a doubt. Little did you know, He had the heart broken mentality. He had cut himself off and shut out the world from his heart because he didn't know what the world was like outside of survival. He had to see the world from a new perspective. His upturn in life was just starting to catch up to his thinking. He was no longer in survival mode. He was living and not just paycheck to paycheck. He was thriving, and he wanted to share this newfound life with someone.
Your hand rested on his inner thigh while the other wrapped around his chest. You held him at the stoplight. Mako has heard about your long-term relationship before Kuvira. It was supposed to be a marriage. The man had different views on Kuvira. He wanted to continue in the destruction of the earth kingdom. You had broken off the engagement and ran far away. You fought with the krew against your ex. Mako still remembers the cry he heard when your ex died in battle. You still loved him. you just couldn't stand behind someone who was causing such havoc. That was his downfall he chose to stay in the havoc, leaving you without a future after the battle. You had been single since then, trying to heal yourself from the pain.
Mako grabbed the bar again as the light turned green, speeding again towards the diner.
Once you were there, Mako grabbed the door to the diner, holding it open for you. You both got inside, he placed his hand on your back, and you both walked to the outside seating. The small of your back felt the warmth from his hand, and tingles rolled down your spine.
You both sat down at a table. The waves crashed, sending the sounds out to the table. The moonlight was bright in a full moon, and the stars twinkled with reflections of the light in the ocean. The air was crisp and cool.
A waitress came and took your orders.
The nerves began sinking in. This was technically your first date since losing your ex-fiance. It was so casual before with Mako, just some physical intimacy that you were craving. This level of vulnerability and commitment seemed much different. Your heart was beating faster. Your attention turned to the waves.
"It's a nice night." Mako spoke softly.
"It is. You know I'll never get over seeing the ocean for the first time. I grew up in such a small town. There was a small lake, but it was nothing compared to the ocean." Your lips grew in a smile thinking of the memories.
"I grew up here. Bolin used to beg me to go to the beach with him when we were younger. I was always busy hustling, but every once in a while, we spent time here."
"I always forget you worked for shady shin." You leaned back comfortably, feeling less anxious. Mako was easy to talk to.
"I try to forget it myself. It wasn't a happy childhood, but it had its moments."
"I know Bolin is thankful. You did a good job raising him. He was always very helpful when we were with Kuvira. He is very funny and looks out for his friends. I've heard Bolin talk about his perspective, but what about yours. How was it for you?"
"It was tough. I learned a lot about the streets. It's hustle or get hustled. There wasn't much between. I'm glad it's behind me. I'm glad I turned my life around. I took a chance when we became probenders."
"I hate that I didn't get to see you play."
The waitress came out and set out your plates. You both ate a few bites between talking.
"You didn't miss too much. What about you what was life like before republic city."
"It was good when I was younger. We lived in a small village. we weren't super wealthy, but we had enough to get by. I still remember being with my friends talking about our future in the town. Kuvira stopped by our town, and she was enlisting warriors to accompany her. I joined with my boyfriend and we traveled around the earth towns."
"Do you miss him?"
"Of course, but every day, I get a little closer to not envision what would've been. For the first few months, I was grieving not only him but the life we had created and planned together. I thought maybe we could have reconnected after he saw the evil in her, but it never happened."
"I understand. I don't know what it's like to lose someone you plan a life with, but I know what it's like to lose someone you love." He reached his hand out and laced your fingers in his. "It's very hard to lose someone no matter who they are to you."
"I've been grieving it for a long time. I wish I could have been at this point sooner. If I hadn't been so blind on grief, maybe I could have seen you this way sooner." You were at a much better place to talk about the death of your first love.
"I would have loved to have this sooner, but I think it's better that we took our time just being friends. I needed to reevaluate myself. I was so used to being unstable in life that stability was a big adjustment I had to make." Mako admitted.
"You know, I always thought you were seeing women and just not telling anyone." You giggled.
"I wasn't. I spent a long time just focusing on myself and making sure I was in a good place to bring someone in my life. I spent so long taking care of Bolin. When he left, I actually had time, and I wanted to make something of myself to give a better life than what I had for my future family."
"That's really sweet, but there's no way. I don't believe there wasn't at least one. You're a firebender, hot, and a cop. That's a girls dream. You have to have women all over you." You pressed.
"No, if they were, I didn't notice. I was too busy. When I finally was ready to find someone, you just said something that I just couldn't stop thinking about. You didn't know it, but It stuck with me." Makos hand squeezed yours.
"Really? I never thought you had any thoughts like that about me. I always thought you'd fall for a woman at the station. I actually made a bet about it once with Korra. Which I lost because we kinda spied on you..."
"That's not creepy at all." He chuckled softly.
"It was just from the station to your apartment. I bet her that you were going to bring home a woman. She bet that you wouldn't, and I was sure you would because it was a significant firenation day that firenation usually spends with a significant other. That was before I knew you didn't really know much about firenation customs. I always thought you might have picked up on some somewhere."
Mako smirked. "No. Not much at all. You know more than I do."
"My village had some people that were from the firenation. They decided to leave their nation when zuko took over. The generations kept going, and my parents had grown up with some of them. They told us the stories their parents told them. Sorry for following you. I guess I might have just been curious in the back of my mind. I guess I didn't want to believe I had any feelings for anyone, especially someone I thought wasn't into me."
"I was then, and I still am." He spoke honestly. The heat in your cheeks met the cool Seabreeze.
You both had finished dinner. The waitress took mako's cash, and you both left. His fingertips trailed your side.
He led you to the stairs that met the sand. You both walked along the beach.
"The mover is probably over by now, but I don't think they will be down at the beach."
"They are at the usual hang out for sure." You could almost hear the groups jokes about you two being together from here.
"Bolin may have gone looking for me." Mako found a spot and sat down, pulling you with him.
"I almost feel bad for not telling your brother." You said when you sat next to him feeling the sand under your fingers. You rested your head on his shoulder.
"If we tell him, everyone will know."
"I don't want to tell them yet. I had fun today, especially with them, not in on the secret. I really like it just being us without them pushing." You looked out into the water.
"Korra and Asami especially. They've been on your back since they got back and heard you were the other single one in the group." Mako chuckled.
"Do you want to go back? You can stay with me tonight." Butterflies swarmed thinking about the warm bed.
"I would love to, but I can't. Bolin is guaranteed to search for me all night if I don't show back up at my apartment."
"What's our stories?" You tried to mask your disappointment.
"I was out doing some police work."
"I had a date." You added.
"Who with?" He questioned.
"A coworker."
"What does he look like?"
"He's not a hot firebender that drives me around on his motorcycle to romantic dates, if that's what you're asking. He's just a waterbender friend that I know will cover for me."
"Should I be worried?"
"Not even a little bit." You leaned in and kissed him slowly.
His lips rushed with intensity. They led you into his lap, where you wrapped your arms around his neck. He leaned one hand on the sand while the other held your hip. He was making sure you enjoyed every second that you were connected to him. He made you feel so safe, secure, and like you were the only one in the world for him.
That night at your apartment, you slipped into bed and pulled Makos clothes out from under your pillow. It was such a juvenile way of comfort, but you couldn't help but hold the clothes close. You could still smell his apartment. The firebenders smoke was still the same as it was. It had the same notes as you were burning a stick of spicy incense in your room. You imagined his arms wrapped around you and his lips attacking yours viciously like they had on the beach. Your mind cycled through the times he had kissed you until you finally fell asleep.

You know I’ve been thinking about the wall again and the General world building of RW/BY again and well I have thoughts so I’m going to share them. RWDE thoughts and opinions below.
So something that has never say right with me is the fact that a “sign” that Ironwood was always evil and always could not be trusted is the fact that the wall surrounding Mantel has been damaged. Why is this a sign of how evil and uncaring he is when…none of the other kingdoms even have a wall surrounding them. The first time we see a wall is in Argus in volume 6. It takes 6 volumes for us to even see a wall. But somehow we’re also supposed to believe that Ironwood is evil because he was struggling to maintain something no other kingdom even has. What’s worse is Atlas being the only kingdom to have a wall makes no sense because the whole point of people moving their was because the Grimm can’t survive the extreme cold. But this is also conveniently despite being the only kingdom with a wall in a place Grimm shouldn’t be able to survive that suffers from regular Grimm attacks.
I know the fndm likely harps so much on the wall because it’s literally all they have but even the damn wall scenario makes little sense and only serves to make Mantel look bad because they’re complaining about a thing being broken that no other kingdom has and then complaining when a work around they don’t like is being used. It’s not like Ironwood was leaving Mantel defenseless either he has soldiers and security cameras and a warning system for people to get inside when Grimm are detected (with both sounds and lights to ensure everyone notices when it’s going off) along with both soldiers and Penny responding extremely quickly to the situation and arriving to assist with eliminating the Grimm. Again this is not something we see the other kingdoms have. Vale seems to at least have an alarm but it does not notably have lights like Atlas does and as far as we see Haven has absolutely nothing in terms of an alarm system for Grimm.
Despite all of this though we’re just supposed to accept that it’s a “sign he was evil all long” because people are angry about soldiers peacefully patrolling to streets causing no issues with civilians whatsoever. We literally see civilians breaking into stores, stores of fellow Mantel residents struggling just as much as them, and throwing them into a fire pit and even began attacking the Atlesian knights whose response was to calmly to ask them to disperse while other members of sail military started calling and asking their higher ups what they should do. I need to emphasize this because it is so important civilians where being violent and instead of anyone’s first response being attack them or stop them with force like our police would do they where calm and asked their supervisors what to do.
And before everyone starts clutching their pearls screaming about how it proves how useless the army is or whatever just no full stop. This is how the police should handle an evolving situation. The two military personnel their didn’t have the full scope of the situation, they only knew what was happening right in front of them. They recognized it was best to reach out to someone who more likely had the full picture and could better advice how to respond. What if Grimm where in the area already and they needed to either leave the civilians or focus efforts on trying to get them to safety? What if they would better serve somewhere else that had more violence that needed more assistance? Taking a moment to confirm the best course of action is not a sign of incompetence but an understanding that situations like this can evolve and spiral quickly and just assuming the best course of action often leads to more problems not less.
CRW/BY’s attempts to make Ironwood look like a bad person are just pathetic. Like did they really not have a single real world example they could use to sell this? Could they really not look at how police in America where they operate and take some inspiration here? Their shitty world building makes Ironwoods turn even more unbelievable when you take more then half a second to analyze the situation.
If we want to see an example of a corrupt government that is done well just take a look at Andor (amazing show 10/10 recommend) the main character Andor is at once point arrested for the crime of standing on a public beach and looking at in the direction of a disturbance that is happening just like everyone else is. He is singled out for “looking suspicious” and charged with years of prison time for the crime of standing. He is then taken to an extremely corrupt prison that forces people, even the elderly and sick, to do hard labor all day and at the end of every day the group that had the lowest number of items produced is tortured as punishment for not being as fast as the other groups. It’s not even if they fall behind on production every day the slowest group gets this punishment. It is then later discovered that when a persons sentence is over they don’t even get to actually go, they’re merely transferred to another floor on bogus charges. And when word of this gets out to the floor he was transferred to, everyone on the floor is murdered.
And no the atlas arc didn’t need to go this hard and I don’t want them to, it’s just an example of this done correctly. Like we see a guy is arrested for vandalism, but instead of him being held longer then necessary he’s…released the same night. Far far faster then anyone in the us is processed and released. Someone I know who shouldn’t have even been arrested for what they did, the worst they could receive is a fine, and was took longer to get out then this guy did. We could have had for example prison labor used by the SDC and people receiving kickbacks for every person sent to the SDC and a corrupt group over punishing people for kickbacks (something that actually happens in the US). We could have seen some sort of pushback against the civilians when they turn violent but we get NONE of that. Any chance we get to show Ironwood having an “ironclad rule” or whatever is not used and in fact shows compassion and care. It’s a pisspoor set up for a fallen hero arc.
This went way off tangent from the original point but the whole wall scenario is just poorly done and utilized and makes little sense and that bugs me.

Mycroft Alexander David Holmes stood near the Pilgrim Path admiring the view. It is late in the day, and he knew there would be no one else coming this way for some time because of the tides.
That part he flirted with, but still timed well.
The distant storm most certainly was not planned, but he will not frown upon unexpected help from Universe. It is rarely that lazy after all.
Nothing in his line of vision gives hint of the turmoil within himself or the man he holds on the Pilgrim’s Way.
Now would be a good time.
“Zealots talk of dying for their country, but never a word of the lives they take for their country. Is this just?” coughs the man beside him.
“I am not a believer, let alone a zealot.” Mycroft corrects, “I am only what you once were – a patriot. Finding a new deity was your right. Becoming an enemy of England was flirting with death. Betraying us was signing your death warrant. You are a traitor.”
“Patriot/Traitor” The traitor gives his opinion of the word with the vile phlegm spewed to the  ground. “It depends on which side one views of the coin.”
“Sun Tzu states ‘Anger may in time change to gladness… But a kingdom that has once been destroyed can never come again into being.’ He also states, ‘The greatest victory is that which requires no battle’.” Mycroft’s eyes narrow, carefully watching the ominous skies. “Your actions nearly caused a war. My actions here avoided it. I would say my view is just enough.”
“So, your country will label you a hero, but mine will make me a martyr.”
“The place you now call your country will think you a deserter. We have seen to that. The dismantling of your reign of terror against us has already started – after all, the breadcrumbs I left are what brought you here.” Mycroft half shrugs. “As for me? Only the five people who sent me to get you will know. The rest of my countrymen will remain ignorant and at peace, blissfully unaware of what transpired here.”
“Those five people have been trying to get me for years. Only you found me. You are impressive.”
“I know. I am better.”
“At what?” the traitor snorts, but it costs him as winces in increasing agony.
Mycroft does not even think to hesitate in his answer. “Everything.”
“And modest.” The traitor coughs a very wet cough and spits again. Mycroft is not surprised by the blood in the spittle.
Now would be a good time.
“I simply know who I am. Modesty has naught to do with it, nor changes the fact of it.”
“Enjoy your peace for now you bastard. There will be others.” The traitor says with conviction.
“I will.”  Mycroft replies with equal conviction. “And I will make it my job to stop those others before it comes to necessary actions as this.”
Mycroft had been looking at the expanse in front of him over the traitor’s shoulder on purpose, avoiding what was happening. Now he looked directly at the man himself as he gurgles, beyond caring of the bloody spittle staining his chin.
The traitor, a former member of Ultra, was once known as Eric Kimberly Gladwell, the name he called himself now soon to be rendered irrelevant.
Now would be a good time.
He waits until he’s sure the traitor’s hazel irises that had stared at him no longer saw anything.
Only then did Mycroft remove the blade from the man’s lung.
The traitor did not expect the attack from the young agent who broke the man’s femur immobilizing him. Mycroft then stabbed him with the blade between the ribs and held it plunged.
The poisoned blade – the blade that would have been used on Mycroft – was the traitor’s trademark in the kills for his adopted country. The traitor might have survived the physical stabbing, but there was no recovery from the poison.
Assured the traitor is dead, Mycroft does what is necessary. He knows the high tide will claim the body, but he was not taking chances. He grabs a piece of driftwood and shoves it into the wound even deeper than his original stabbing. Even if it is found, no one will bother to look past the obvious presented. The traitor will be some unfortunate soul who did not heed the many warnings for the tides and was swept away.
----------
His uncle Rudy looks at him carefully when he returns to headquarters. He knows his uncle has deduced him and knows what he has done…
Mycroft paraphrases the end of a famous quote by Aeschylus “And home I come, to claim your welcome, but not as ashes in an urn.”
In several months his uncle will inform him of the bloated decayed body that washed ashore near Lindisfarne. A large broken piece of driftwood between its ribs. Too much of the sea battered remains were destroyed to make identification possible.
His uncle raises a brow and responds with his own paraphrasing of the beginning of the Aeschylus quote and gives his nephew a curt nod of acceptance. “We sent forth a man to battle, but no such man returned.”
Mycroft silently agrees as he takes a seat. The man before his uncle was not the same man Ultra had sent out on assignment.
The traitor was not Agent Mycroft Holmes’ first kill; but it was his first murder.  He is nineteen.
----------

💠💠 heyo, just read the demo and it was well worth the wait...the angst 😭...I imagine MC will be having nightmares for years screaming themselves awake for things they saw as a 6 YEAR OLD!!...The trauma my goodness...MC needs all the hugs...anyway I got so invested in this story that it had me going through the feels and had me thinking about a few things that I'd like to ask...sorru this is going to be a bit lengthy but your writing is just sooo good 😅
1. - What would Luceris do if it was found out that the assassination of his wife had nothing to do with MCs family or that Sis acted alone without her familys knowledge. Would that not matter at all to him like "Hey it's all the same" or would he feel an ounce of guilt for everything that's happened 🤔
- Or what if it was a plot by Rosea nobles to get rid of their Queen and blame it on Vesphire because its stated they never liked her because she was a commoner, would he feel even worse because MCs family were not just innocent but completely uninvolved and were annihilated for his own misunderstanding and
- how would the dynamics between him and MC be after everything he put MC through knowing she and her famy were innocent especially knowing his wife was practically a Saint and he sullied her image
- what would the people of Rosea think and feel of Luceris and towards MC if it was discovered that MCs family was in fact innocent and treated harshly and unfairly for years
2. - How does Helios feel when he finally gets to know what Luceris did to MCs family, especially towards his dad, does he think differently of them now or no,
- And towards MC does he hate them for his mothers death or does he feel guilty towards them because they didn't just lose a mom but their entire family and kingdom and was then made consort to the man that was responsible,
- How would Luceris act if he found out Helios knew and was disappointed saying something like "mom would be ashamed" and not necessarily severed because they're the only parent he has left but distanced themselves from him
3. - How would the ROs feel or react if they discovered MC has major trauma thats been afflicting them throughout the story and MC has been keeping it hidden from everyone to not want to show weakness, but one time it happens where MC can't hide it and is having either major panic attacks or night terrors and the ROs know its because of the pain their kingdom/father caused (more angst if she was innocent and the ROs were already crushing or in a relationship 😋)
- How do the ROs feel about the way the Kind people of Rosea they've always know treat MC the way they do especially a kind/honest!MC
I think that's enough for now,😅 I know its a lot but I don't wanna trouble you with more asks. At least not yet 😈😈 and congratulations on the demo btw 👏 I'm already looking forward to the next update 💠💠
Hi, anon! This was sent a while ago (before the rewriting) but it contains a lot of spoilers so I didn't answer sooner, starting now I will answer asks with heavy Prologue and Chapter 1 spoilers.
If it was only the sister and no one else, I think he wouldn't feel guilty because to him it would be hurting the people she cared for, and hopefully, that hurts her too. If it was Rosean nobility then he'd feel angry and guilty, they'd be dead next. I think their dynamic would be him trying to apologize but nothing will ever change the past so it doesn't matter what he does. The public would feel guilty but let's be real the people who truly treated MC harshly were mainly the nobility and they're too prideful to apologize, if they were the ones behind it then they'd still die before apologizing to MC unless it was the only way to survive.
We will get to see a snippet of how Helios feels after getting to know Luceris did all that. Luceris would be sad if Helios said he was disappointed in him. He would tell his son that he did what was right and that he avenged Farah.
Not answering because we will see in the game! ✨️
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! 💗

Thinking about the noble who sent Gai and a bunch of other people to their deaths in battle, and theorizing why it happened. Maybe it went deeper than it appeared...
Like what if the entire battle was a set up specifically to kill off a large portion of the army. Maybe the noble didn't like spending all this money on the army/ soldiers they had, and came up with a plot to eliminate a huge spending cost, by wiping out his own army.
Not to mention as most knights/ samuai in olden times were also land owners, it could be he wanted to wipe out a large portion of them, so he could claim their land for his own, for barely a fraction of the cost! Or make it so other nobles would lose their guards/ knights, and not feel safe on their own land, and again, come swooping in afterwards and buy up their family homes.
Maybe he leaked outside info to a rival/ warring nation, specifically to start a fight, then went to the king at the time, and manipulated him into inflating the fight and fighting another opponent at the same time. Maybe attack a third party, by claiming they were a part of this warring party, even if they had always been a friend/ trading partner in the past. Creating a situation where all knights would go and as such he would receive "compensation" for potentially losing a lot of men, "for the good of the kingdom." (Maybe he would gain a monopoly on something, if they lost this alley).
(Some real Danzo crap!)
I wonder if even young, Gai was starting to catch on that something was wrong, and tried to bring it up to someone (as I LOVE him having an active roll), and for that he was threatened with insubordination and directed to the front lines. The most dangerous place where he had a near 100% chance of dying. But if he tried to escape, he would bring shame to his family crest. Maybe as the royal family were starting to grow corrupt as they followed new gods and stepped away from the teachings of King Gai, they legit did not care what he had to say. Especially from one so young (I imagine this Gai must be 17-18 and was probably the youngest Gai to die.). Also if he left, than all his friends would have no chance of survival. He wanted to try and protect them! He must have also felt the valley needed him because the threat was real. Even if it was a set up.
But the battle ends up bloodier than even the noble planned. It grew bigger than anyone could imagine and more than the three parties were at play as further alliances took the chance with the warring nation. Who took the information leaked, and gained a lot more allies quickly to use this as a chance to take over the valley, which people had been attempting to take over for hundreds of years (maybe longer but Konoha- or wherever they are or what they're called, always had a way to thwart them. Dragons. Mysterious diseases. Godly intervention- the list goes on.). This is the one chance they have to take the valley and so they go all in for it.
By the time its heard the battle ended and there were no survivors, the Noble probably threw a fancy party the next day, faking a "somber dinner to honor the lost men".
On a stormy night, the noble dined on the best wines and meats as the people around him congratulate him for his plans and the riches he will soon inherit. All he has other nobles and slimy people in on the plot who fabricated it all for their own benefit. Also there is a mysterious guest, dressed in the finest clothes and who brought the most luxurious gift for him. He was assumed friend as he knew so much and complimented them all on their plans. The only thing odd about the man was he arrived when the storm rolled in. No one asked enough questions as the alcohol went to their heads.
So it wasn't just the evil plot that made Kakashi see red. Not just the exuberant amount of greed. But the boasting. As his lover lay dying on the field, barely starting a life and having to access a power he at one point dispised and feared, just to prevent a massacre on the kingdom, this noble was celebrating. Boasting about how he did it all. And how even if it was "a little more risky than he originally planned, nothing of value was lost."
Kakashi probably lost it right there and threw his human disguise off, as he brought the storm inside the mansion and locked all the doors. He must have had the most disinterested and disgusted look on his face as the noble begged, pleaded, and tried to bargain his way out of his fate.
I imagine the weight of the gold lining in the man's clothing, was what ultimately pulled him under the water as he drowned in his flooded mansion.
(Was I right about any of that?)
Ok (i had to go on my laptop to answer this cuz it's going to be long/detailed XD)
So first off, yes Gai is around 18-20 in this lifetime. He does not get a lot of years before he dies and that's part of what angers Kakashi so much. He would have just been going to meet Gai if things hadn't gone the way they did.
I never did have a reason for why the noble did what they did except 'greed' (pitting Kakashi vs Kakuzu in a way) but I really like this. It would be rare for someone to willingly decrease the amount of soldiers they have under their command, but the village has been pretty indestructible for generations. no one wants to fight them, so the noble could easily feel like he's wasting money on an army he may never even use.
Might as well get some use out of them and cut some costs at the same time! A classic Kakuzu move to save money 9and perhaps make money if he's reimbursed for the information he gives out)
Ok, now for the really fun part <3
So my original thought was that Kakashi's anger overwhelmed him and the rain began to pour everywhere. Like the whole village was in danger of being drowned.
But then some of the other gods (Ibiki, Rin, Mito, Obito, Tsunade) came in and lifted the rest fo the village up around the noble's house so that all of the rain water poured into the hole that was left with only that nobles house inside of it. Thus drowning the noble and creating the pond in the village that later iterations of Kakashi and Gai visit (and also resulting in Kakashi and Kakuzu having a huge blow out argument that Hashirama has to split up because they do almost kill each other that time)
However, loving the idea of Kakashi walking into the house and flooding it with people inside.
so, i propose.
Both options!
The other gods know Kakashi's about to flood the house but at the same time he's not just flooding the inside. He's burying the entire house in water. So other gods come together to raise the rest of the village around the nobles house. that is the first hint that something is wrong.
As the noble and all their guests begin to panic Kakashi shows up in mortal form in the centre of the room. Someone (probably the noble) begins yelling at him, treating him as a servent demanding he get to work on finding out what's wrong.
Without hesitation Kakashi lets his mortal cover melt away until that noble, the one who condemned Gai and so many others to a pointless death, is staring down the God of Storms.
It's only then that everyone in the house realizes just how F***ed they are.
One thing Kakashi does do is have all of the servants/workers taken out of the building by his hounds who carry them up the new earth walls that surround the house. A few of the nobles try to catch a ride, ut when they grab the dogs they're electrocuted and left in the ditch to face their face.
The entire time Kakashi has multiple people begging for their lives. pleading with him for mercy.
He doesn't laugh, or smile, or even cry.
He just looks at the one who caused everything and says "Now you can know how it feels"; before the rains begin to really pour.
It takes all of five minutes for the hole that the house is in to fill, and Kakashi just stands there the entire time watching as the noble and all those who congratulated him take their last gasping breaths.
He gets absolutely no joy out of this. there's no relief for his pain and no celebration for avenging Gai and all those other people who died. .
He feels absolute emptiness.

Some emperors dragon? I was gonna save this until I got the full fic written but ya know what it’s been an emotional bad Christmas this year so take this with your coal! ~Bambi
———
Tai Lung: *soaking wet, squirming and clawing at the guards as they drag him back from the cold palace after he escaped the emperors chambers to check on the dethroned empress during a storm* LET ME GO YOU FUCKING ASSHOL- *winces as he’s tossed onto the floor by the guards* Ugh- you- *snarls and bristles the fur on his tail, looking up at the emperor who imprisoned him as he approaches*
Emperor Tengfei: Me? What right do you have to be mad at me my beloved great dragon? I locked away those who conspired to set lady Wu free. The ones who caused this war between our kingdoms. Who roped your kind hearted and trusting self into their plot. I gifted you these beautiful robes and this warm chamber beside my very own, I haven’t devoted any of my time to my wives just to tend to you, and yet you pleaded, and pleaded for mercy for them. You call me such cruel things. You treat me as your jailor when all I want is for your safety and happiness to be maintained…
Tai Lung: happiness my ass! They roped me into nothing! You’re a fucking psychopath!! You treat your wives like they’re disposable! You treat your servants like dirt! You dress me up and make me dance for your entertainment! For your friends entertainment! This war started because of you- *lunges forward grabbing a knife from a guards belt before holding it to his own hair as a threat to curse the emperor like empress Xian did* You don’t deserve to be emperor-
Emperor Tengfei: *eyes visibly flashing ever so slightly showing momentary fear for the dragons actions before smirking as he steps forward and gently grabs hold of the knife, sliding his fingers over Tai Lungs as he does so* Perhaps… *grins and nuzzles slightly into his ear as the pluck of a Pipa string rings out through the room*
Tai Lung: *freezing in place, not from the emperor, but from the pipa as it starts to play a familiar song* W-Wu Long?…
Emperor Tengfei: *whispers into his ear as he takes the knife from the shocked dragons grasp* You’d like to see my latest gift to you, before acting so harshly. *gestures to the guards to pull back the curtains to the bed revealing the source of the sound*
Tai Lung: *steps away from the emperor and turns to face the bed* Wu Lo- *literally has to cover his own mouth to stop the scream escaping him*
Wu Long: *crying silently as he plays his pipa with bandaged broken fingers, his once long beautiful black hair now short and choppy, scalp covered in caked blood, his eyes a milky white and his legs so mangled and broken the only thing holding them in place are the bamboo poles splintered to them with bandages… his bruised body dressed in a burial shroud* t-agh- li-ughh…
Tai Lung: WU LONG!! *turns to face the emperor only to see him standing outside the door with his guards* WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HIM?!
Emperor Tengfei: I had a change of heart seeing you so sad and depressed. He was moments from being buried alive when I ordered he be brought here to entertain you again seeing as he seems to be the only thing to make you happy. *scowls folding his arms* so I spared him. If he survives the night and you learn to behave yourself and appreciate my kindness I’ll consider healing him for you. *smirks* don’t expect much in the way of conversation from him though… he had a very special tea whilst in prison… He’ll never be able to talk you into betraying me again.
Tai Lung: You… *snarls and raises his hand to try and attack, to summon all his magic to try and shatter just one of the jade bracelets binding him to his prison* … *lowers it back down, deciding it’s best to behave if it means wu long will have a chance at being healed* …please… spare him…
Emperor Tengfei: *smirks* Ask me again, louder so I can hear.
Tai Lung: … *tears pouring down his face as he stares at wu long’s broken body* Please… heal him, master*

Something that has always bothered me in canon. Travel in the real world is expensive. And I would assume that grimm attacks would make travel in Remnant MORE expensive. Yet Jaune’s family somehow has enough money to make regular camping trips to Shion Village a thing from wherever they lived (don’t get me started on how we have gone have way across the world and only run into one family member. Just where does his family live?) And yet he was still sheltered enough to not know what Aura is? It’s the type of thing that makes one ask questions about his home life despite how much he told us. And while I would love to believe they thought these details out, Occam’s Razor suggests that they just didn’t think about said details enough.
Anyways. I am wondering what your thoughts on this is and if you have any ideas on how to address it?
You’re completely right to think it’s weird! Because it is weird.
Aura isn’t some obscure resource exclusively used by Huntsmen—it’s a basic component of biology in this universe. That’s like not knowing what a kidney is. If Jaune grew up in a large city, then there’s an all-but-guaranteed chance he would have encountered at least one person with an unlocked Aura, just because of urban population density. If he grew up in some remote, isolated community, then there’s even less of an excuse for him not knowing what Aura is, because we’re explicitly told people who live far away from the major kingdoms need to know how to fight in order to not die. A character says as much in the second episode of Volume 2.
Blake: I was raised outside the kingdoms. If you can’t fight, you can’t survive.
No amount of hand-waving can justify him not knowing a fundamental concept of this setting. Especially one that’s non-negotiable for surviving.
Harris Brewis (Hbomberguy) talks about that issue here, and to summarize: Jaune is basically an audience surrogate character. He’s deliberately written to be ignorant, so that way, the show has an excuse to let Pyrrha explain the concept to him (and by extension, us).
Not to go on a tangent here, but Jaune’s obliviousness really does underpin the issue with his character. If Jaune was so enamored with his family’s history of being legendary warriors, and aspired to uphold their legacy, then why does he not know the first thing about fighting? Look at Ruby and Yang—they both come from a family of skilled fighters, and wanted to undertake similar career paths. But unlike Jaune, they started preparing when they were young, and by the time they’re ready to enroll at a formal academy, they’ve been suitably trained and educated.
Jaune’s incompetence, in both combat and know-how, makes his decision to attend a Huntsman Academy seem like it was last-second. Like, why does he want to be a Huntsman? Why is living up to his family’s legacy so important? Why didn’t he try to enlist at one of the prep schools before applying to Beacon, so that way he was prepared? What are his motives?
Sorry. Jaune’s character is a sore spot for me, and it’s hard to resist taking potshots.
I know you were rhetorically asking about his family, but you might be interested to hear that I did come up with an explanation for it in the Redux. Along with an answer for why he forged his way into Beacon, and why he was so underprepared. And why Ozpin allowed it.
But to address your main question, regarding travel, infrastructure, and the feasibility of both:
The first thing I need to talk about is how I redesigned the majority of cities within the Redux. In the present day, Remnant has a global population of about 350,000,000 people, roughly distributed between 51 cities and towns. A little less than half of those cities are megacities, with populations that exceed 10 million.
While there’s a large degree of variety between them in terms of architecture and layout, functionally, most of the cities are similar to Ba Sing Se.
Tumblr media
A thematic map of Ba Sing Se, an Earth Kingdom city in Avatar: The Last Airbender. | Source: Inkarnate.
The canon toyed with this idea back in V1, when we see Roman Torchwick studying a map of Vale’s capital. Vale is divided into various “districts”—commercial, residential, agricultural, and industrial—but the layout always felt kind of janky to me.
Like, why are the commercial and industrial districts so far away from where people live? How do people get to and from their jobs? Does the city have robust public transport—like trains and buses—in order to reduce traffic and commute times? As far as I can recall, the inner-city roads are predominantly used by cars (V2.E4). Actually, thinking back on it, I’m pretty sure that trains have only been used for intercity travel.
The SDC cargo train that passes through Forever Fall in the Black Trailer.
The subway that connects Vale’s capital and Mountain Glenn (V2.E11 - 12).
The passenger train that Oscar takes to Mistral’s capital (V4.E12).
The Argus Limited, which connects Mistral’s capital to Argus (V6.E1).
To date, the only city that has any sort of inner-city public transport is Argus. (And even then, we have no confirmation of whether or not it has to share the street with other vehicles.)
It’s just so bizarre, that in cities which are so densely populated out of necessity (due to a shortage of space not inhabited by Grimm), cars seem to be the default transport. Ba Sing Se’s layout addresses this problem by having a vast network of monorails that are free to the general public, thus freeing up the streets for people to use. (An issue which this post here does a great job discussing.)
The cities in the Redux are similar in that their layouts are optimized to make public transport efficient and accessible, while conserving space for day-to-day living. Most of the major cities have agricultural districts (just like in the canon), but they also have large parks and ecological zones that are safe for leisure and recreation. Jaune’s family wouldn’t need to travel all the way to Shion just to go camping.
Mind you, while all cities have public transport, not all public transport uses roads. Several cities in Mistral, for example, rely on airships and gondola lifts for getting around. There’s also a city in Eastern Vale called Petrichor, which is spread out across numerous islands within a lagoon. Public transport there consists primarily of waterbuses similar to the vaporetti used in Venice.
Now, as for the roads between cities, things are a little different. For starters, there aren’t a lot of them.
Tumblr media
A (tentative) map of intercity roads across Remnant. Dark blue lines are the “main” roads; light blue lines are “minor” roads. Note: This map excludes rail lines, airship routes, and waterways.
With a handful of notable exceptions, virtually all inhabited settlements (both towns and cities) are located along these roads. The dark blue lines represent the major or “great” roads, which are directly connected to each country’s respective capital. Minor roads are depicted here in light blue, and are considered off-shoots that link out-of-the-way places to the great roads. These roads exist to primarily accommodate vehicles, although they can be traversed on foot. Why you’d want to, though, I have no idea, since these roads are technically outside of the safe zones of the settlements.
Roads are maintained by the governments of each country. Usually, the stretch of distance between settlements isn’t huge, so the roads (when broken up into individual segments) aren’t nearly as long as they look.
The main thing protecting these roads are the outposts, which are strategically placed along them. The Huntsmen stationed at outposts are trained to intercept and respond to distress signals, either from individual travelers, or (in the case of an emergency) from settlements at risk of being overwhelmed by Grimm. Without the CCTs (which made communication widespread and immediate), these outposts wouldn’t be nearly as effective.
The outposts were primarily created to give Huntsmen access to resources besides the academies. Plus, access to places where they could regroup and better coordinate themselves as needed. Part of that idea came from common sense, but the idea of them also existing to protect roads was somewhat inspired by the tambos and qullqas of the Inca road system.
On a parting note: Vale used to exclusively employ anyone with a speed Semblance as a courier. They were a lot like the chasquis of the Inca Empire.

Have any fun headcanons on how Entrapta runs her Kimgdom pre and post war?
Like does trying to be more social make her try to interact with her subjects
I did a story once of post war series of Dryl hosting a science fair and Entrapta is the judge
Having her be a normal responsible ruler is the most boring thing to think about in the world actually. It's just... absolutely not in her nature, nor should it be ever. The idea of Glimmer settling down is already dull enough.
For your question - Pre-war, i have a longstanding oneshot idea for that. At least the early years. But imo Entrapta was not ready, and the position her kingdom was in when it was handed over was absolute hot trash. So she just buried her head in the sand and let it fall apart, building robots for herself and to replace lost staff.
"Your Highness, sorry about your family, we really need you to leave the workshop though, your dad lost his trade deals with Brightmoon when the Horde attacked so there is a shortage of food and wood, we haven't sold any steel in months so the miners have no work, castle staff are leaving in droves especially now, and your coronation ceremony is supposed to be in six minutes. Surely you want to finally take control of the situation and not repeat the mistakes of the late Prince-- Wait, Princess, where are you going--"
So that's why Dryl is a deadzone at the start of the show and Entrapta only has 3 castle staff who don't like her very much, as well as absolutely NOBODY responding to her distress beacon. The cooks were probably recent hires too because they seem so young, two of them could be younger than Entrapta herself. And she had NO qualms handing over her kingdom to the Horde. Catra said "Dryl's forces have fled". I think this is funnier if the only people who lived there were the 3 castle cooks, some daring squatters like the goblin dude, a postman, and a random elderly couple who keep complaining about the large noisy Horde vehicles. Otherwise she let a kingdom full of people get taken over by the Horde, which is a little fucked up even for Entrapta, but not out of her range.
Post-show I think this is where the question really comes in, who is she now? Entrapta has spent the series on a ridiculous and dangerous adventure moving from place to place, things being chaotic for her moreso than anyone else. She hasn't even BEEN to Dryl since she was left in the Fright Zone!! And she clearly didn't miss it much. The last time Entrapta was in Dryl was in the Portal episode and I thought that scene was quite sad, sure there are her robot friends, but it came across as a safe kind of prison (though ofc it's not safe with what she gets up to) where there are no exciting social interactions to get hurt by or enjoy.
When you've moved to the Fright Zone, survived Beast Island, ran from place to place surviving Prime's attack, spent months on a dangerous space mission, and then come back to find your camp has to move again because all your buddies got chipped, the idea of STOPPING that adventure and "settling down" back into that shitty castle labyrinth you locked yourself in years ago, taking on the responsibilities you long abandoned, it must be terrifying!!!
Personally what I see happening is Entrapta just assuming she can instantly get settled in back home since, duh, it's HOME, and when she gets there and the place is completely falling apart because the Horde struggled to survive against the Prime invasion, the outer areas of the castle are overrun with growth, but the inside is as dark and confusing and empty as she left it, there are no people, there's no sound, how can that possibly feel like home??? Where do you even begin to make this town feel like a home to anyone?
But she does have more support now from all her friends, and there are a lot of new people that NEED a stable place to live, and while I think Entrapta's instinct would be to stay wherever her friends are (most of them may be in Brightmoon), she'd probably decide to head home, demolish the castle walls to let some light in, and set up a sanctuary in Dryl for some of the clones. There's lots of room, and if Hordak and Wrong Hordak are there, together everyone can build a pretty cool town. Maybe even a school, and a spaceport!!! Wouldn't that be awesome! What a bunch of nerds.
Doing princessy things like Glimmer and leading dull ceremonies and stuff like that? Never. Entrapta would sooner abdicate. Maybe she does. Or maybe she delegates all the most boring responsibilities to other people and finds a way to do the bare minimum princess work to keep everyone together with the most efficiency. Does anyone see it as princess work or just healthy leadership? I bet Entrapta disappears a lot on science adventures. There is always going to be an edge of chaos in Dryl. People don't like authority in that town, especially not the ruler.

(I had this originally as a long reply to @agoddamn, but my laptop’s battery died and it randomly decided to restart rather than locking down. Insert AVGN swearing gif here).
I’m actually feeling that Three Hopes is doubling down on a major aspect of the design philosophy of Three Houses, and in turn is offer validation for both sensei Byleth as well as the much criticized White Clouds.
Like, remember how in the Nintendo Dream interview the devs talked about how they made a conscious decision not to include some Revelations-like golden route? They didn’t want that because they felt that by making a golden route, everyone would treat that route like it was the one true canon and every other route would simply be what-if? scenarios. That’s what happened with Fates/If, and they were only expecting players to play one route. Three Hopes, meanwhile, is a tie-in game of Three Houses. It assumes you’ve played the base game, and it’s not trying to act as a replacement for it. Simply it acts as a supplement instead.
People, myself included, were hoping that Three Hopes would offer some sort of Golden route. While it’s supposedly possible that no one dies in the BL route and the lords survive all three routes, the ending is also supposed to imply that this won’t be a lasting peace. It’s simply a ceasefire. That same aspect of the design philosophy is there, we’re just being given more options about how we want it to end.
That said, I’ve talked a bit about how the spoilers of Three Hopes makes sense for Claude. It’s not character assassination like people claim, it’s just divergent character growth due to changing the events. White Clouds doesn’t happen in this scenario, the school year is cut short a few months in. I feel like the ramifications of this extend to all three lords though.
Claude has always been a character who will use others to reach his ideals, someone who was originally designed as a likable villain. No White Clouds, though, means he doesn’t see the lengths Edelgard will go to accomplish her goals, a major factor in his opposition to her. After what he sees, he opposes her methods most of all, citing the loss of life being too high. But without that, instead we get a Claude who is perfectly fine sacrificing Kingdom and Sreng forces in order to get to Rhea, and sacrifice Rhea to end the war.
No Flame Emperor though means he doesn’t realize how Edelgard can pull a fast one on even him. He takes Edelgard at her word that the war is simply to get rid of Rhea, whereas the events of Three Houses would prove otherwise with Edelgard continuing the war even with Rhea gone and attacking the Alliance before CF starts despite his neutral stance.
Also no working with Byleth and the Church, challenging Claude’s own prejudices and assumptions. He doesn’t learn the truth of Fodlan’s past, and that despite his initial assessment Rhea is actually the good guy. Instead, he ends up killing the person characterized as Fodlan’s protector, while his VW counterpart believes in continuing her work. He doesn’t become the pure good guy he did in VW, he instead becomes a likable villain character whose ideals, while good, are hypocritical coming out of his own mouth.
With Dimitri, he’s appauled by the actions Edelgard and her allies are willing to do, citing how many people are sacrificed in pursuit of her goals. This eventually leads to his mental condition deteriorating throughout White Clouds, snapping when Edelgard is unmasked. While with Rhea’s help he recovers in CF only to die, in every other route he ends up in a metaphorical darkness and it’s only with Byleth’s help in AM that he can return to the light. And when he does so, he wishes to atone for what he did in the dark leading to him being the Savior King.
In Three Hopes, no WC means that Dimitri’s trauma button isn’t mashed. Instead, he’s able to go against the Kingdom lords involved with his father’s death and for Duscur, start making improvements and reparations, and while he had to kill his uncle he has the support of his friends to help him. He ends up being a king earlier on, having to deal with politics.
We end up with a Dimitri supposedly willing to sacrifice Rhea to protect the Kingdom. It definitely feels that this Dimitri comes off as less idealistic and more of a realist, and while he’s still a good guy it definitely feels like without his lows in the base game he doesn’t rise to the same heights.
As for Edelgard, during White Clouds she not only had to bear witness to what TWSITD are doing to help her but she was also surrounded by people who are appalled by what they are seeing. Edge of Dawn has the line “and still I hide behind this mask that I have become.” I feel like this hints that the events of White Clouds make Edelgard suppress who she really is. She’s hiding from the truth of her matter behind the Flame Emperor persona. A false persona, spreading falsehoods in order to make herself feel like the heroine she wants so desperately to be. She learns the value of good PR.
In Three Hopes, due to the changed events,  she’s much more true to herself and as a result the game is a lot more open with what her real goals are. This is a war of conquest, pure and simple, and she’s willing to use anyone and sacrifice anyone in order to win. And even Rhea supposedly sacrificing herself for Edelgard isn’t enough to deter her. She’s going to go to war, and without Byleth she will take the Black Eagles down that path with her.
All of these show how much of an impact White Clouds had on the lords, and how the extent of Byleth’s influence on their Houses. But the endings of Three Houses are a lot more final, whereas in Three Hopes it’s implied the truce will be broken (presumably by Edelgard). Hopes does not lead to a lasting piece.
And one last thing, that ending being possible in all routes really undermines 1)That Edelgard is only after Rhea and the Church, as Rhea’s dead in two of the routes. Smooth move Claude, 2) That TWSITD manipulate her into starting the war, since they’re gone in all three routes. This is all on her at this point, and 3) the idea that the war could be prevented with all of the lords talking to each other, because they all live and there’s still the threat of a second act of the war hanging overhead with Edelgard seeking conquest, Claude willing to cross lines his VW self wouldn’t and Dimitri able to sacrifice others in the name of his country.
Fodlan doesn’t unite in these scenarios, instead it’s just three countries looking out for themselves. In Three Houses, it’s either due to conquest or necessity after five years of war tearing the continent apart. With the war being much shorter in Three Hopes, things are going to be more intact, also fueling a sequel.
You could say that these are all lesser endings than their Three Houses counterparts. Again, the game is supposed to tie into Houses, not replace. Instead of Edelgard playing the player like a fiddle in CF, her motives are laid bare. Dimitri doesn’t become the Savior King like he did in AM, he’s someone willing to condemn others to protect his people. And Claude doesn’t become the new dawn of Fodlan, he unknowingly becomes the villain. Weaker endings, because Three Houses didn’t happen. Because Byleth was not there. Shez is made out in this way to be the inferior lead.
Anyway, that’s my take guys. Does that make sense Black Mage?

Oppenheimer is an essential character in US history. He is the left-leaning Jew who provided the USA with the Atom Bomb that enabled the US to defeat Japan faster than the planned standard land and air attack by the Soviets and the Chinese Communists, officially endorsed in the Yalta Conference ( 4–11 February 1945) by Churchill, Truman, and Stalin. Truman did not have the atomic bomb yet and will only have it in July 1945. So, he bluffed and agreed with the Soviet plan because he had no alternative … yet. He reneged his agreement in July-August 1945, and he dropped two atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6 and 9, 1945. The victory over Germany was a joint effort. The victory over Japan was a self-centered and egotistic solitary procedure not even negotiated with the allies of the US. The United Kingdom might have been informed, maybe. But the USSR was not. The Americans were already and had been for nearly two centuries, on the “America First” and “Make America Great Forever” lines that we have known all along and directly since 1918.
Tumblr media
And within 9 years Oppenheimer will be ostracized because he was leaning to the left and there were Communists around him. He submitted and disappeared in some sideline university job. He had nowhere to go, as opposed to Charlie Chaplin who went back to England. As a Jew, he could have gone to Israel, but that was not a real optimistic solution at the time. He might even have gone to the USSR with his communist wife. But he stayed put in the USA, in his closet-university-job. The film does not really explore this dilemma: hide away in the USA, go to the Jewish Israel, or go to the USSR. On one hand, it was his old depressive nature that came back. On the other hand, it would have been going back to his faith and his roots, even if it could have looked like treason. On the third hand, on yet another other hand, it would have been plain treason.
Tumblr media
The special features on the second DVD do not correct this mystery and do not even envisage it, in real terms. Yet the bio-doc there insists tremendously on his left-leaning connections. If he had been black, he could have moved to Paris where Black American authors and musicians were vastly welcome. In France, he could have worked with the Joliot-Curies, though Frédéric Joliot-Curie was against working for nuclear weapons. He refused the demand from the French government. But The film and the special features lock Oppenheimer in a strange straitjacket of an obsessive psychotic prison, till the end of his life with only one single supporter named in the marginal side ditch of the story, John Fitzgerald Kennedy who voted against the ostracization of Oppenheimer in the US Senate. One vote out of – at the time – ninety-six.
Tumblr media
I will regret that the special features did not insist enough on the basic, fundamental, and unethical treason of Joseph – like Stalin – McCarthy though in perfect line with the Monroe Doctrine of the Manifest Destiny of the USA to dominate forever the whole world. Imagine the frustration of all the MAGA supporters who will never see that, except if the USA starts the third world war with nuclear weapons. And try to survive after that.
Tumblr media
No one can imagine what makes a film great in the West. It has to caress you on your umbilical egocentricism, and in this case the USA is the greatest entity in the cosmos, even if Truman is nothing but a nearly misspelled Trump.

Eckhart back story (My Oc)
Eckhart: The Genesis Emperor
Eckhart is one of the only khaenri'an to survive the cataclysm 500 years ago. He was the right hand man of the twilight sword dainsleif and is one of the most powerful royal guards of the kingdom before its eventual demise. During the cataclysm dainsleif ordered him to run while he was fighting off the monsters with a blonde haired girl.
Eckhart refuses and after some fighting a rift opened under him amd brought him to a realm of water and space. A being calling themselves skirk seems to take an interest and gave him a crystal. Later this crystal will be known as a "Genesis Crystal" after skirk gave the crystal to Eckhart, he eventually got sent back. After days of fighting however nothing was left. It was too late. And as he lays down on the barren wasteland he once called home. Thr heavenly principles cursed him. A curse that will be the bane of his life. Immortality.
After months of roaming around the wasteland that is Khaenri'ah he found a door. A door leading to the surface realm. He then slowly sealed the door shut and put a curse on it. So that it will warn those who dare trespass.
Recently he's been using this power that hailed from the Abyss. And with that power he then made sure the door to Khaenri'ah was sealed and never to be re-opened once again.
As he ventured out of the underground sand cave he then found himself In sumeru. From there he started to secretly explore 7 nations of teyvat. Gaining knowledge and trying to find the "truth"
After more then 500 years he travelled so far and learned so much. However this takes a toll on the mental and physical health of Eckhart as well as the curse erasing more of his memories. The marks that he has has been deteriorating his straight to fight. Until one day he reached the neighboring nation of sumeru. The nation of justice Fontaine. He has heard of the recent events and how furina the hydro archon had destroyed her throne to rebel on celestia. One cold night he was just watching 2 mechanical machines dance gracefully as a pair. He notices a girl with white hair and a dress fit for a princess. She also harbors a mutual feeling. A feeling of intrigue. However those machinations suddenly started malfunctioning. And started to attack those in thr vicinity. Which was both of them. The girl was skillful and from her thr way she swings her sword ro her stance, its obvious to Eckhart that she was from inazuma. Even the blade she uses has the art of the sword of inazuma.
The girl however got overwhelmed. Before the weapon of the machines would hit her, his sword then parries it and Eckhart did a finishing blow to the machine. He then coughed up blood due to him using too much abyssal power from sustaining him. He falls down and the girl manage to catch him just in time.
"Are you alright?!" Said the girl
Eckhart then opened his eyes and the girl helped him to sit up.
"Thank you.. for saving me. I really appreciate it.. Mr?" the girl said sincerely yet worriedly as he still keeps bleeding a bit.
"Eckhart.. My name is Eckhart. May I know yours?" He said with a weak smile
"My name is Kamisato Ayaka. Delighted to make your Acquaintance"

Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Naughty Wolf (m)
Tumblr media
Wolf!Baji x Red Riding Hood!Reader
18+ fic minors dni
Red Riding Hood is a title given to those with the duty of delivering food, crops, livestock, etc. to the wolves in exchange for the protection of the village. But what if you met one of those wolves?
CW: Sexual Content, biting, hair pulling
Word Count: 15,010 (yeesh haha)
A/N: I haven't written anything in a loooong time haha. Also forgive my smut scenes they aren't my forte when it comes to writing. English is also not my first language so have mercy if I made any mistake haha. And lastly @kazutoraholic here's the result of that little thirst post you had about Wolf!Baji hahaha hope you enjoy this too.
In a map of a far away kingdom, there is a dense forest that not many have travelled to. There have been so many sightings of large monsters and predators out for prey. Beasts so strong even the strongest knights cannot defeat. Said beasts has been observed to only reside in the forest not wandering outside so they just left it be. But in the middle of said forest resides a quaint village. As most would assume how could this village survive in such an environment where beasts of great magnitude reside? Well they don’t. They’ve enlisted the help of the “wolves” of the area whom have taken the responsibility of protecting the villagers from outside intruders from entering the village.
Mighty generous some would say but alas, their services are not for free. They have demanded to be provided some crops and livestock from the village every two weeks. And that’s where Red Riding Hoods enter. They are responsible of dropping off said supplies at a certain drop off inside the forest. Red Riding Hoods must be able to easily navigate through the dense forest for faster delivery of the supplies. They don a red hood as an indicator that they are allies to the wolves so as to not to mistakenly attack them.
One of those Red Riding Hoods happens to be your grandmother. She would be leaving for quite a while and come back with great stories of her adventures through the forest. It could be as great as catching sight of the mightily beasts or as mundane as finding a rare herb, you soaked it all up earning you a great curiosity what’s beyond those dense forest. She even mentioned coming across a wolf pup who wouldn’t let her go until she gave him some food. You both laughed at the story while also telling you not to tell anyone and it’ll be your little secret. She emphasized how the wolves are very private creatures and doesn’t really like interacting with humans. She brings life and wonder of what’s beyond the forest and not just a habitat of dangerous beasts.
But one day, your grandmother never made it home. She disappeared. She never came back from delivering the supplies. There’s a rule where once a Red Riding Hood haven’t returned in a week, they are presumed dead and a new Red Riding Hood is titled. A rule some would say is absurd, but considering how dangerous the forest is it seemed to make sense. And most cases where Red Riding Hoods not returning, they either end up found dead or still missing.
Your grandmother’s disappearance could be enough to drive you away from the forest, but you still have hope that she’s still out there. So you resorted to ways where you could go into the forest without trouble. Become a Red Riding Hood.
The only knowledge you have of the forest is your grandmother’s stories which does give information but not enough to get you to be a master navigator. SO you spent the rest of your teenage years studying about navigating and studying the on the forest that is available. After years and years of studying, you finally find yourself fit to be a Red Riding Hood. Teachers and Professors are willing to put in a good word for you when you applied to be a Red Riding Hood. And after going through a tedious process of paperwork and testing, you finally did it. You are now a Red Riding Hood. You may be doing it because you want closure on your grandmother’s disappearance, but you still felt that childlike giddiness now that you’re just like your amazing grandmother.
And here you are at the village gates waiting for the gates to open to enter the forest. Nervous and excited, that’s what you are. You’ve always been a curious little bean, so seeing more of the forest beyond just illustrations and books is beyond exciting. But you’re also nervous because who wouldn’t be when the most dangerous forest in the kingdom is right there where wild beasts could maul you anytime. So yeah, nervous and excited. To calm your nerves, you resorted to count the supplies and double…well triple check in this case.
“Nervous?” a man in knight uniform approached you.
“Atsushi! Yes. Seeing the forest up close like this is…”you looked up and took a view of the forest “pretty intimidating”
“Ah I told you Akkun is fine. Might as well get familiar with each other since I’ll be escorting you to the gates from now on. And if it’s any consolation, this is my first time being near the forest too.”
You chuckled at his nervous face when gazing at the forest which you can definitely relate too. Knowing someone else might relate to you comforted you a little.
“Welp! Off I go then!” you said cheerfully trying to ignore your nerves.
“Take care okay. And thank you for your service to the village.”
“An honor to serve the village. See ya!” you said before taking off.
You’ve been travelling for two days and you came to one conclusion. You were definitely being followed. You don’t really have any evidence you were being followed but you can just feel it. You barely slept last night, but at least you’re already at the drop off point. So you quickly did your tasks so you can travel back home already and hopefully not get mauled by a beast.
Just as you were thinking of that, you heard leaves from a branch rustle. Your face paled and your body was paralyzed. ‘Not on my first day please not on my first day” you pleaded with your eyes closed. You slowly opened your eyes and turned your head towards the direction of the rustle.
You came into eye contact with a guy. No wait, uh, he has dog or maybe was it wolf ears. He must probably one of the wolves. But when learning about the wolves you assumed they would look more…wolf-like and not human-like.
“Hey.” The guy? Dog? Wolf? Said trying to get your attention
“Uhm, can I- can I help you?” you hoped you said that loud enough for him to hear you still were shocked of what you came across.
“Ya got food on ya?”he asked and stepping out from the bush.
“Yea, I just locked it in the drop off point.”
He looked at the drop off point and looked back at you. “That’s great! But what I mean is a spare food you guys have a lot of those right?” he said with somewhat an excited look on his eyes. You even caught a glimpse of his wagging tail behind him.
“Well the food on me is for me while I travel.” You explained while patting your bag.
“Aww. How about a bite then?” he asked stepping near your bag and sniffing a little which caused him to drool a bit.
“No can do, sorry”
“A nibble then?” he asked crouching down next to your bag and looking up at you giving you the puppy eyes. You almost cooed out loud because admittedly he looked cute looking like that. You shook your head “N-no” you faltered.
As you said that, his face turned into a frown and his ears started to droop down. ‘Oh no not the ears, not the ears! Hhnnggg those cute ears and those fluffy hair aagghh!’You sighed and reached for your bag “Alright, fine”
“Hell yeah!” he stood up and took the sandwich you handed him with bright eyes. It isn’t a problem really; you made extra the amount of food for your travels to gauge how much you’ll need for next time. As the guy devoured the sandwich, you started to observe him. Long dark hair one of the noticeable trait of his after his ears. Sharp canines which he made great use of while eating, and amber eyes which were now looking at you. ‘Oh’ how long have you been staring at him? You felt yourself blush at the thought of getting caught but brushed it off.
“So, I hope you enjoyed it!”you tried making conversation
The guy gave you a smile that showed off his canines. “Definitely! It was just as good as your grandmother’s haha.” He said while patting his tummy.
“Wait-huh? My grandmother’s?”
“Was she not your grandmother? There used to be a nice old lady who gave me food all the time when she goes here.”
‘Could it be?!’
“A-are you by chance talking about my grandmother?!” you asked enthusiastically getting close to him in the process…well maybe too close judging by the fact that he stepped back a little.
“Yes…” he said now the one thinking you’re strange
“H-h-how do you know my grandmother and I were related?” your thoughts were going a mile a minute that turning those thoughts into words is a bit of a struggle.
“Well, you both smelled similar.”
“Eh?”
“Your scent.”
You stared at him before backing away and covering yourself “Have you been sniffing me?!”
“Wha- I was sniffing your bag I just got a whiff of you!”
“And how were you able to do that?!”
“I’m a wolf!”
“Oh” you realized feeling a little bit dumb. But at least you got a confirmation of what he is.
The guy in front of you sighed and said “Why don’t we start over. I’m Baji Keisuke, one of the wolves defending you village from the forest a pleasure to meet you.” He held out his hand for you to shake, which you accepted. “Gotta say, didn’t expect for you guys to change the Red Riding Hood so soon.”
Feeling like some tension was taken off, you decided to be friendly. “What can I say, I guess I impressed the village head with my top notch navigating skills.” you giggled at your faux arrogance which also earned the now named Baji a chuckle.
“So… you knew my grandmother?”
“I knew her as that nice lady with good food, other than that I don’t really remember much, was just a pup after all.”
Ah, you remember now. You recall your grandmother telling you stories about a wolf pup always bothering her until he gets food. With how he acted earlier, you definitely can connect the dots now.
“So how is she? Haven’t seen her for a long time.”
At that you felt yourself get sad for a bit. “I was hoping you would know something about it actually.”
He raised his brow at that statement “What do you mean?”
You looked at him before saying “She…she went missing. Here in the forest.”
“Oh. I see.” He said while looking down having a guess on what happened
“Don’t look so down, I still have hope that she’s still somewhere out there!” you declared full of confidence, you were determined to get to the bottom of your grandmother’s disappearance and Baji could sense that.
“Mind if I join you in that little quest of yours?”
You looked at him in surprise and delight you grabbed his hands and looked at him with bright eyes “Really?! You would do that?” you asked brimming with gratefulness.
Baji blushed a little bit at the sudden contact and proximity but you were just so excited to get help from someone that has a connection to your grandmother outside of the village that you failed to notice his flustered face. “Of course. Consider that as payment from the snack you gave me.”
“Oh you don’t have to worry about that.”
He smiled at you at that “Still, I would love to help you. She’s been a part of my childhood too albeit not as much as yours.”
“Thank you! Thank you thank you thank you!” you said while continuously bowing.
“H-hey save your thanks for later once we actually made progress.”
“Oh r-right, ehehe”
“You better get going. You’ve got quite a long journey back home.”
“That’s true. I’ll take my leave then! It was very nice to meet you!”
As you were about to leave you felt him tug at your sleeve prompting you to look at him “Hey what do you say I escort you back to your village?”
“Really?” you asked though you find it hard to say no to a little extra protection from the forest’s dangers “Would that be ok?”
“Of course! Besides I like you!” he declared which made you blush heavily “No-wait uh, that didn’t come out right. What I was trying to say is that uh, your grandmother talks about from time to time so I kind of got an idea of what you were like so yea.” He let out a nervous laugh and though ‘The hell was that explanation, did it even make sense???’
“W-well I’ll be in your care then!” you tried to change the subject since this conversation is making you more and more flustered.
“Right!” he gave you a mock salute and went off to lead the way.
Through your journey, the sunset came about you. Baji stepped forward and held his hand towards the setting sun. He seemed to be gauging something before saying “We got a an hour or so before the sun completely sets. Let’s settle right here and set up camp.”
“Ok ok, I’ll grab some firewood not far from here.”
“Hmm, got a tent with you? I can set it up while you’re gathering.”
“Yes! Yes I do.” You answered handing it to him “Thank you very much.”
“Not a problem. Off you go now make sure to gather enough before dark.”
“I’ll be right back then.” Just as you said that, Baji noticed something move in his peripherals.
Finding firewood wasn’t that difficult and you find yourself content with the amount you have gathered. As you were finishing up, you heard a rustle to your right. “Ah Baji you didn’t have to come here I was…just…” it wasn’t Baji. And judging by the fact that this creature was eyeing you up as its next meal, it was safe to assume that it wasn’t gonna be as friendly as Baji was.
You tried to keep steady so as to not provoke the creature, but that didn’t matter since it started to approach you sizing you up. You’ve had training where you were taught how to defend yourself from these beasts and escape quickly but facing off with the real deal like this caused you to have a mental block.
You tried slowly reaching for your weapon—which is a measly knife—but it’ll have to do. But even the smallest of movements is enough to provoke it and was now charging at you in full speed. You were about to run but in the blink of an eye the beast’s head was crushed. And right on top of that crushed head is Baji’s foot. You were about to approach him but then he started stomping on the beast’s head flattening it to the ground. He then went towards its body and started to slash at it with his claws that you didn’t notice until now. He slashed and diced until all that’s left was just minced meat.
He took out what looked to be a handkerchief and wiped his face and hands before turning to face you. What he saw wasn’t exactly pleasant. You had a pale face with your trembling hands in front of you. He hopes he didn’t scare you too much, but what he did was necessary lest the creature go limping without its head. He took cautious steps towards you and you seemed to be rooted where you stand.
Who wouldn’t be intimidated at such a display? You knew it was necessary for both your survival but that was just too much for you to handle right now. On your first day no less. When you noticed Baji stepping towards you, you didn’t know what to do so you just stayed there. You were so lost in thought that you were surprised when you felt warmth around your hands. You looked down and saw him holding your hands. It was so big and warm and so…comforting.
Baji held your hands tenderly trying to calm you down. Once he felt your hands stop trembling, he asked you softly. “You doing ok now?”
His deep voice was enough to ground you to reality and be at the moment. “Oh I’ll….I’ll be fine. Just trying to process everything really.” Seeing one of the said protectors of your village in action is a lot, add on the fact that you were just in grave danger it’s a lot to take in. And he understood that.
“Why don’t we head back to the camp and rest there for a while then?”
So that’s what you two did. Seated by the campfire while you both stare at the bonfire, both of you not really knowing how to break the ice. You decided and went for it though so blurted out “That was impressive.”
“What is?”
“You overpowering something thrice your size. Didn’t even had a chance against you, you just stepped on it like a small bug.”
“It’s technically our job to get rid of those guys fast and efficiently.”
“Was mincing it really necessary? I mean you destroyed it’s head surely it must’ve died by then.”
“It’s mostly just a precaution really. That thing found us quite near our camp so I didn’t wanna take any chances.”
“I see.” As soon as you said that silence overcame the two of you once again. It wasn’t a comfortable silence nor was it an awkward silence. Just silence.
Baji got tired of it though. He looked at his surroundings before letting out a grunt as he stands up. “Come on, I wanna show you something. It’s not far from here.” He said as he offered you a hand to help you up.
You let him lead the way. You two walked for about two to three minutes until you ended up in a grass field where he stopped in his tracks. Was this the place, there isn’t much to see around here.
Baji suddenly bolted and ran through the fields in different patterns. You looked at him incredulously wondering what the hell he was doing. Before you could ponder on what purpose of his running was, you suddenly see a trail of gold light following after him. It didn’t take long for you to realize “Fireflies!”
They looked oh so beautiful with the moonlit night. As beautiful as they are your attention was on something completely different. Seeing Baji jumping and hopping around somehow made your heart skip a beat. ‘I don’t know maybe it’s his handsome mug?’
“Hey! Come on run with me!” Didn’t have to tell you twice. For the next ten minutes all you two did was run around while also trying to catch fireflies and letting them go not long after. It’s a cute activity except when Baji started to catch them with his mouth asking if it makes him glow. Which you firmly said no and proceeded to scold him, except it happened more than once so now you’re chasing after him to free those poor fireflies.
You managed to tackle him down but when you looked at him there was nothing in his mouth anymore. So here you are lying on top of him. You blushed at your position and quickly got off him for you to then lie down beside him. He was still laughing from the experience doing his best to calm his laughter down. You two are now staring at the stars while lying down and surrounded by fireflies.
“Beautiful place isn’t it?”
“Yeah” you sighed in contentment
“The forest is a scary place. It’s full of dangers and predators ready to pounce on its prey. But at the same time it can also be beautiful. It’s little wonders like these that give life to the forest. What you experienced earlier is a terrifying experience, but I ask you not to let that incident define how you view this place after all, it is my home. And maybe…your grandmother’s too.”
You sat up from your position and turned to look at him. “Thank you.” You chuckled after saying that “How much did I thank you just for today?”
“Don’t know wasn’t really keeping count. Besides,” he sat up “nothing wrong with being grateful.”
“We should take our rest; we still have quite a lot of land to travel through tomorrow. Especially you, you just went berserk just earlier.”
“Are you kidding I could easily take one of those guys again right now with ease.”
“Don’t jinx us.”
“Hahaha my bad, my bad,”
Your two day trip was shortened to a day and a half. And now the village walls is in your view already.
“Woah! Thanks for the help and of course for escorting me all the way here.”
“Don’t sell yourself short. Managing to trek through these forests to the drop off point in only two days is commendable. You’re a Red Riding Hood for a good reason.”
“Oh come on you’re making me blush from those praise.” You muttered while holding your cheeks.
“Oh you got a thing for praises then?”
“What?”
“Huh?”
Baji cleared his throat and said “Well uh looks like we’ll be seeing each other quite often huh.”
“Oh yeah yeah.”
“Until next time then?”
“Of course!” you answered quite enthusiastically
“Save me some snacks for next time then!” he waved at you before disappearing in the forest.
A very interesting first day you must admit.
You’re currently at your home taking your rest until the next excursion in the forest. You’re gonna have to set a routine and a new lifestyle so you can get used to your new job. As you’re taking your rest, your mind started to wander to that wolf you just met. He’s very energetic but you had a feeling you haven’t gotten the full experience just yet.
Now that you think about it, was it normal for wolves to escort Red Riding Hoods? It would make sense since they’re carrying something that the wolves need but that doesn’t explain the continuous disappearances of them. Maybe it happens occasionally. When you were studying, you haven’t come across any accounts that states they’ve been escorted by a wolf before. The only explanation you could think of is that since wolves are private creatures they don’t want them talking about how they are. Well the best way to find answers is to ask someone who’s been a Red Riding Hood before.
“Who did what now?” the man in front of you asked, shock written all over his face.
“A wolf escorted me home and I was wondering if that were normal for us.”
“Y-you came across a wolf?” he asked still in disbelief. He then stood up instantly “Do you realize what this means?! No one has seen any of the wolves for decades now!” The man then started to mutter and spouting details you couldn’t really make out so you just slowly backed away. Well now you know it’s definitely not normal. He was probably just helping you out cause he was familiar with your grandmother…and the food, can’t forget about that.
After all that deliberation here you are again nearing the drop off point to of course drop off the crops and livestock. You’re sat beside a large tree near it taking a little bit of rest before travelling back home again. When you felt well rested enough, you reached for your bag to take off only to find out it’s not there. Well that’s worrisome, but said worries were set aside when you heard someone clear their throat from above you.
“Looking for this?~” Baji asked while holding out the bag as he sits on a tree branch.
“Baji! Come on give it back!” he lowered the bag to you but pulled it out of your reach went you went to grab for it which made you chuckle. You tried to grab it from him multiple times jumping up and down. “Hardi har har Baji, now give it back or else I won’t be able to give you your snacks.” You persuaded which surprisingly worked on him as he jumped down from the tree branch.
He held out the bag to you but went to a sprint before you could grab it. “Catch me first! Hahaha” run after him you did. You figured that he wasn’t running in his top speed as you were able to easily catch up to him. No way were you able to outrun a wolf and you weren’t exactly the fastest either. Just as you thought you were close to him, he jumped up and onto a tree.
He turned to you and held his hand out “Upsy daisy!”
That caught you off guard “I’m not exactly a tree climber.”
“Don’t worry I got you!” he smiled at you with that wide smile where his sharp canines were on display. With such a charming smile, you couldn’t bring yourself to say no so you took his outstretched hand. You were much surprised when he was able to lift you up with just one hand.
He then handed the bag to you and climbed up higher and reached his hand out again. “We’re going higher?”
“Yeah I wanna show you something”
“How will we get down?”
“I’ll carry you down.”
You gave this a thought if it would be a good idea. You concluded that seeing the forest from a bird’s eye view can be very helpful especially in travelling. “Alright then.”
The higher you two get, the tighter the grip you had on Baji. He couldn’t help but silently smile at the thought that you trusted him in such a situation. Not long after, you two were at the top of the tree where the view of the large dense forest came to greet you. “Wow!” you gawked at the view while Baji basked in viewing the wonder in your eyes. “Look! I can see a little glimpse of the village’s gate from here!” you exclaimed pointing at its direction.
“They are pretty tall.” He acknowledged
You continued to sightsee and take in the large display of trees. You were taken out of your attention when you heard howling. You turned to Baji whose back was on you. You saw his flattened ears on his head, so you adjusted yourself to look at him and confirmed that it’s him who’s howling. “What are you doing?” you asked curiously
He turned to you and gave you a smirk. And that view got you blushing, his smirk along with the wind blowing his hair back with the large forest as the backdrop. After giving you the reassuring smirk, he continued to howl towards the forest for a few more seconds before pausing, waiting for something. Suddenly you heard howling coming from different directions of the forest.
Baji barked out laughter when he heard them. “THOSE ARE MY PALS!” he declared proudly. “You wanna meet them someday?”
“Can I?!?!” you asked excitedly. The idea of getting to know more about him and his friendships excited you.
You realize that your spot right now is a nice place to eat. So you fetched the food that you prepared for him. You decided to cook two servings of stir fried noodles since you figured that this man most likely had a gigantic stomach judging by the fact with how he devoured your sandwich last time.
Baji being the ever vigilant wolf that he is, smelt the food you took out and quickly sat beside you waiting to be handed the delicious smelling food. You even caught a glimpse of his wagging tail.
You held out the container to him but quickly pulled it back as he went to grab for it laughing at his pouty face paired with droopy ears. “Payback time.” He went and grabbed for it again but you managed to swipe it away from his reach. He tried again and again until your entire arm was outstretched while he was leaning on you as he tried to reach the container. It didn’t take long for you two to realize that he was basically hugging you with both his hands stretched out to reach the container and you in between his arms.
Both of you were quick to separate and sat there a little embarrassed flushing at the thought of how close you two were. “Here” you placed the container on his lap.
“Th-thanks”
A few moments has passed and you heard him starting to eat. Baji thinks that it’s delicious! It even reminded him of a certain food he loves back home but his mind is currently at how close they were earlier. You felt warm he could cuddle you all day just stay in your arms basking in its warmth. “Do you like it?”
“Mmfff!” He answered while also nodding his head. “We have something similar back home too!”
“Glad you enjoyed it. So uh,” you looked down from the tree “How exactly are we gonna get down?”
“Hmm? Oh, I’ll just carry you down.” He offered you his back “Just hang on to me and I’ll do the climbing down.
You appreciated that he was willing to do something like that but the thought of hanging on his back at such a height makes you scared that you’ll accidentally let go of him.
Baji sensed the anxiety you were currently having and thought of something else. “Th-then how about hanging from my front then.”
“Huh?”
“You clearly didn’t like the first idea and this is the only alternative I can think of.”
That was quite a smooth move whether it was his intention or not didn’t matter. Nevertheless clinging or basically hugging him until you get down didn’t seem like a bad idea. And you like being in his arms from earlier.
“That’ll do then.”
“Alright! Come on over here then.” He opened his arms with a wide smile trying to hide his fluster.
As you two got into position, both of you couldn’t help but focus on the breathing that’s right next to your ears. You give a pretty tight hug too. He lifted your thighs and guided them to wrap around his waist. The position was admittedly quite suggestive but he didn’t have any complaints and as he’s observed it seemed to be ok with you too. “Hang on tight.” He said as he started his descent.
As he was descending, you couldn’t help but pay attention to the breathing and grunts coming from him. You felt shame for thinking such thoughts so you just focused on the wind in your hair as he jumps from branch to branch and in no time at all you’re both back to the ground.
Once your feet were on the ground, you leaned back from your embrace with Baji. You still had your arms on his shoulders and his hands on your waist with you two just looking at each other. You caught a movement from his head and saw a caterpillar on his hair which made you giggle.
“What?” he asked concerned if he somehow looked silly.
“Nothing you just got a friendly guy hanging on you.” You reached for the caterpillar and let it crawl to your hand. As you wait for it to get to your hand, you felt how soft Baji’s hair actually was. You only assumed when since it looked like it, but getting to feel it it’s even softer than you expected.
The whole time Baji was just admiring you since he didn’t usually get a close look at you so he’s making the most out of this situation. He watched you place said caterpillar on a nearby bush letting it go in its merry way.
After that little encounter, you both agreed to start your journey back to the village. And thus another delivery as a Red Riding Hood has finished.
The both of you developed a routine where every time you are to do your duties, he would meet you at the drop off point, eat whatever you had prepared for him, and then show you a part of the forest he believes you would like. He never failed to bring a smile on your face when touring you through the forest. Then he’ll be on his way when you’re near the village. You’ve had this steady lifestyle for months until one day…
You were waiting for Baji because you just know that he’s on his way to get his precious snack. Your relaxed stated was disrupted when you smelt something burning. ‘That’s not good’ you thought It definitely wasn’t the smell of burning bonfire. You immediately rushed towards the direction of the burning hoping that it wasn’t the start of a forest fire.
Arriving at the scene, you were relieved it wasn’t a forest fire, but that relief was short lived because what you saw was somehow just as bad. There Baji was holding down a beast which is burning. “BAJI?!”
Your call made him turn to look at you. The sight of you made him widen his eyes in surprise “Stay back! I’ll handle this!” he said as he smacked the beast with a flaming torch before jumping away. He grabbed you in a hug and hid behind a tree where you only heard the flames getting bigger before silence.
You tried to look behind the tree but Baji only tightened his hold on you. The sound of something blowing up then overwhelmed you as you buried you head in his chest. A few more moments after that, Baji then loosened his hold on you. Once again you tried looking behind the tree only to find ashes everywhere. Nothing in the surrounding seemed to be burnt; the only evidence of there being a fire was the ashes and a missing patch of grass.
Before Baji could say anything, you smacked him upside the head. “What were you thinking?!?! You could’ve started something disastrous doing something like that!”
“But I didn’t~” he said before letting out a nervous laugh.
You went up real close to his face and said “You better NOT do this again or no more snacks for you!”
“Yes ma’am!”
You sighed and decided to take his word on it for now. “What even drove you to burning that beast?” you asked rubbing your temples
When you looked at him, he was guiltily looking down at his lap his ears droopy too, a clear sign of his guilt “I was hungry.” He said while in a pout.
“Come again?”
“I was hungryyyy” he whined “I easily get riled up when I’m hungry. That beast just attacked me at the wrong time.”
You sighed again not wanting to explore the topic any further. You took out a handkerchief and proceeded to wipe at his face “Look at you, you’re covered in soot.”
“So are you.”
“You know a place where we can wash up?”
Baji was silent for a moment trying to think of any. After a few moments, his face lighted up “I remember, there’s a river near hear with a small waterfall. I remember taking a bath there once.”
“Let’s head there then. Besides, a meal is much better after a bath after all.”
It wasn’t that long of a walk until you two came about the river he was talking about. The water in the river was crystal clear and the breeze around the area was refreshing thanks to the waterfall. You dipped your hand in the water to gauge its temperature which was just right it’s cold enough to be refreshing but not too cold that you’ll freeze. Maybe a little dip won’t hurt.
Unbeknownst to you, while you were observing the river, Baji was already shedding his clothes and was now running towards the river taking a dive. Your thoughts were interrupted when you heard a splash near you. You instinctively tried to cover yourself from being splashed. It doesn’t take a genius to deduct what was the source of that splash. “Baji!”
Baji resurfaced from the water and pushed his hair back all while laughing at your reaction “My bad, my bad.”
“You have to be mindful of others…around…you…” you drawled out after seeing Baji’s shirtless figure. Thank goodness for the sun’s reflection on the water or you would’ve gotten a full frontal view.
“You like the view?” he said with a big smirk on his face while also raising his eyebrow fascinated at how you were ogling him.
You were quick to turn your back to him to prevent yourself from staring. “Wh-why yes, this river is wonderful.”
“Not exactly what I’m referring to.” He teased
“Oh would you just shut it.” You blurted out in frustration. You were flushing so hard right now; you can’t bring yourself to face him like this.
“Oh well, it’s your decision to not take a dip. I mean it would be a shame for you not to experience the very cool river.” He sarcastically said while swimming over to the waterfall and washing his hair thoroughly through it. “ Ahh~ feels like I’m washing my problems away.”
You tried your best to remain firm but you find yourself turning to look at him curious as to what he was doing. And the sight of him washing his hair underneath a waterfall was such an enticing sight that you wanted to join him right then and there, but you were still embarrassed. You haven’t been naked in front of anyone, but the thought of being naked in front of Baji didn’t really bother you, you just felt shy.
Baji finished washing his hair before turning to look at you again. When he saw you still rooted in place, he swam over to you. “Come on take a dip, the water’s great. And weren’t you the one who said that a meal is much better after a bath?”
Few moments has passed of you just pondering the situation before answering “T-turn around.”
“Huh?” he asked in disbelief
“I said turn around. Don’t really feel comfortable being watched while getting naked.”
“Oh, OH right right! Uhh ok!” you heard a few splashes before you turned around to make sure. And there he is, his back turned to you—goodness even his back is such an eye candy.
You quickly make work of your clothes before taking a dip. In Baji’s opinion, the sound of your clothes rustling is much worse for him instead of just outright watching you get naked. Imagination is a powerful yet troublesome thing.
The soft sound of the water rippling as you stepped into the water rang in Baji’s ears refraining himself to look at your direction. “You should give the waterfall a try. It’ll also speed up the process if need be.”
Step under the waterfall you did. And to quote what Baji said, it really does feel like all your worries were being washed away. Baji then went back to washing himself once he was sure that you were settled nicely. Him minding his own business was quickly thrown to the side when he heard you let out a squeal. He quickly turned to look at you and he low-key regretted it. The sight of you and your pretty figure with water running down your body was more than enough to rile him up even more. He wanted to pounce on you right then and there. He clenched both his hands and his jaw trying to maintain what little is left of his self-control. But try as he might, he can’t make himself to look away from you his eyes stayed glued to you and you only, he was starting to have tunnel vision.
That tree branch sure did surprise you, now you felt silly for reacting such a way. You brushed that little incident off and went back to washing yourself which was paused the instant you felt an intense gaze on you. You turned to look at Baji since he’s the only person you knew who could be looking at you.
“Eep!” you squealed—yet again—out of embarrassment, not wanting to see his reaction to how you look so you quickly swan to the other side of the waterfall where he couldn’t or vaguely see you.
The second squeal you let out was enough for him to break out of his aroused stupor. Now with only concern in his mind, he swam near the waterfall but didn’t cross it. “Hey you ok in there?”
“Y-yeah!”
“Why’d you squeal earlier then?”
“You were looking at me earlier and I was embarrassed!”
There was a pause from his side “S-sorry about that I didn’t mean to. I was just concerned. Are you ok by the way?” he asked. You can hear the worry laced in his voice, and he did apologize so you decided to let it go.
“O-o that I was just-uh” you paused a little embarrassed to admit “A branch brushed my leg and I was startled. N-nothing to be concerned about.”
“That’s good.”
There was a pause once again. You only stared at each other’s figure albeit being distorted from the waterfall between you. “You’re beautiful.” Baji blurted out
“Huh?” you blushed at the sudden confession.
“I’m sorry, you were so irresistible to me I couldn’t help but stare I-I…” you saw his figure hold his face in his hands as if in shame “You’re a grown woman, surely you have an idea on what I’m feeling right now.”
You didn’t really have any words, you were speechless. But that’s not to say you disliked the knowledge that he saw you that way. In fact, it excited you. You reached out your hand to his side and took hold of his hands which were still holding his face. “No need to feel ashamed, I’m flattered actually.” You said as you then cupped his cheeks “Besides, you weren’t the only one staring.”
That admittance caused Baji to tense up. The thought of you looking at him the same way as he was looking at you was enough to rile him up again only this time, you were only a step away from him with you touching him. Once again he clenched his fists and jaw to maintain what’s left of his self control “Stop that. You don’t know what you’re doing.” He said with a slight tremble at his voice due to him trying to keep himself in place.
“What if I do know what I’m doing?” right now at this moment, you wanted to be as close to him as possible let him hold you close and do whatever he wants.
You felt some sort of vibration on your hands on his cheek. Was he growling? “You sure know how to rile a man up.” You heard him say through clenched teeth.
You realized you’ve made him wait long enough. You pulled your hands away from him and stepped back further in the waterfall to make room for him. “Come on over, must be lonely out there on your own.”
At first Baji was worried that he scared you off when you pulled you hands away, but you inviting him over excited him even more that he just knows how dilated his pupils were. Good thing the water was above the waist too or you would’ve gotten a view of his tail wagging aggressively.
You watched as he slowly stepped through the waterfall between you and seeing him all wet with some of his hair sticking to his in his naked glory brought you to arousal already.
Baji could say the same too. The sight of you all wet shyly covering yourself out of shyness from him was too much for him that he ended up caging you between his arms and the wall.
You two were close, too close with just a few inches between you as he pinned you. And yet it wasn’t close enough to your liking so you decided to fix that yourself. You threw your arms around his neck and brought your lips together with his which he gladly reciprocated. You felt how he was still trying to be gentle on you so you decided to rile him up. In the middle of your kiss, you gave his lips a long lick making him suck said tongue in turn. He then went to focus on your lips again sucking and biting which made you moan. Said moan turned Baji on even more as he shoved you further into the wall and dove to your neck giving it a hard bite pulling yet again another moan from you. The bite was hard but not hard enough to break skin yet hard enough to leave a mark that’ll be there for days. He gave the bite mark a lick before trailing butterfly kisses from your neck all the way up to your ear.
“I should’ve warned you earlier.” He said kissing your ear “I bite” he then proceeded to nibble at your ear while his hands were now roaming all over you feeling you up.
You didn’t want to be the only receiving end, so you proceeded to feel him up as well. You hands going to places you’ve always been curious about. First being his hair. You ran your hands repeatedly through his hair feeling how soft it is despite being wet. The next is his back; you’ve wanted to feel it ever since you caught sight of it earlier. You traced your hands on every muscle you could feel on his back starting from his shoulder blades and lower. You couldn’t help but wonder what it’ll be like when he’s thrusting into you. Third is his ears. You’ve always wondered if they were sensitive since it always seem to react to the tiniest bit of sound that not even you could pick up. You gave it a tentative touch and watch it twitch. You played with it for a while until you felt Baji’s nibbling to go harder.
Baji pulled away from your ear and dove for your lips making out with you as you both felt each other up. You were indulging in Baji’s kisses too much that you didn’t notice his hands going for your chest until he started playing with you nipples, pinching and twisting it while also squeezing your breast from time to time. The whole time he was doing so, you’ve been whimpering at the sensation. Baji was quick to put your breasts into his mouth sucking and nipping. As he does so, you started to feel something hard between your legs.
Naturally, you went and grabbed for it giving him slow strokes which earned a growl from him. A very welcome surprise for you, so you gladly kept doing it while his bites on your chests grow harder and harder. Eventually, Baji had enough of it. He grabbed your hand that was busy and pinned it to the wall next to you as he buried his face to your neck. “Careful now.” He growled
“Careful of what? I’ll welcome anything you have to offer, Baji.”
He gave you a tender look before going to kiss you again. As he was kissing, his free hand snaked down to your private parts and began to rub at it. Your moans from the action were swallowed by Baji as he kept kissing you. “You’re quite wet already aren’t you.” He said in between kisses.
“You sure it’s not just the water?” you teased
“Why don’t we find out ourselves.” He said with his signature smirk while inserted a finger in you making you gasp in surprise which he took advantage of tasting every bit of you through the kiss. Baji started to pull his finger in and out of you feeling your very slippery walls.
“I don’t know, it seems to me that the wetness is from you not the river.”
You didn’t even bother to answer, only focusing the feeling of Baji’s finger in you. You waited in anticipation as a second finger went up in you pulling a loud moan from you.
“Was two fingers too much for you, babe?” he swirled his fingers in you that made you squirm against him. “How are you going to handle me then?”
“B-baji please!” you pleaded as you looked at him with glossy eyes.
Baji would’ve loved to tease you more, but the sight of you begging and being putty under his hands is the straw that broke the camel’s back. He pulled out his fingers from you and grabbed your legs to lift you up against the wall. While in this position, you can feel his tip rubbing against you. Baji not wanting a moment to go to waste, entered you waiting for you to signal him to enter more until he is fully sheathed within you.
For a while you two stayed like that, basking in this very intimate embrace until you get used to the feeling of him in you. Once you felt ready, you called out to him.
“Keisuke”
“Hmm?”
“Take me.”
Baji gave your lips a peck “Anything my lady wants.”
He then pulled out from you leaving only the tip before slamming back in you. The act caused you to moan and squirm against him spurring him on even more to do it again. The first few moments he gave you slow and heavy thrusts but over time his hips started to move faster and faster leaving you a moaning mess against him. You can hear him growling and snarling as kept thrusting into you bringing you bliss every time. Baji only seemed to get turned on even more as he make love to you. The combination your sounds the feeling of your body against him and the feeling of your insides was driving him over the edge.
He dove for the space between your neck and shoulders and bit you his primal instincts taking over. The feeling of him biting you caused you to grab hold of his hair as you clenched around him.
In turn, the feeling of you clenching around him and pulling his hair only caused him to bite even harder. The act making you clench around him again. And thus it became a cycle throughout your session with his thrusts only growing harder as you two came near your climax. All you could hear was his muffled grunting and growling against your neck, his mouth still occupied by biting you. Not long after the familiar feeling of climax came upon you.
“Keisuke please! I-I”
He paid no attention to your words as kept his pace steady already knowing what’s going on. It didn’t take long until he heard you moan out his name out loud and feeling you cream all over him. He paused for a bit letting you take a breather. He went for a kiss making out with you before continuing to thrust in you again. You let him have his way with you as he chased after his high. A minute or so has passed of him just thrusting up to you until you hear his stuttering moan before feeling him pull out and rubbing himself before shooting out his load. You mimicked his action from earlier and gave him a kiss after his orgasm.
He let you down from your position before pulling you into a hug which you gladly returned. Being in his embrace after such an intimate endeavour felt romantic for you for some reason.
“How are you?” he asked as he strokes your head with so much tenderness you just wanted to melt into him.
“Amazing. I don’t know how else to word it.”
“I wasn’t too rough on you was I?” he asked looking at your bit marks in concern.
You noticed where his gaze was before smiling at him. “I would’ve smacked you upside the head if I didn’t like anything what you were doing. And I told you I’ll take everything you had to offer.”
“That’s good to hear.” He sighed in relief before kissing you. Said kiss started off innocent but eventually grew in fervor where he was now nibbling at your lips.
“B-baji?”
He pulled away and asked you “I know it’s too much to ask of you, but can you handle one more for me?” while caressing your waist.
“H-huh? Already?!” you gaped at him in surprise
“I told you, you’re irresistible to me. And I’ll only do it If you’re ok with it.” He emphasized
You were tired and winded from your first round, but the thought of a second round only aroused you despite what your body feels. You were definitely lying to yourself if you told yourself you didn’t want more.
As an answer to him, you jumped up and wrapped your legs around him again which he swiftly caught. “I’ll be in your care.
Baji definitely lit up hearing your answer. He gave you a deep kiss and said “I promise I’ll take good care for you the whole time.”
And just like that you were once again overwhelmed by the sounds of waterfall, your moans and his grunts inside the shallow cavern from behind the waterfall.
Just as he promised, he took good care of you drying you off, and dressing you up before cuddling you in a soft patch of grass beneath the shade of a tree. His arms felt so warm around you that you couldn’t help but fall asleep.
When you awoke, you realize you were lying down on his lap. The view that greeted you was Baji eating his serving of stir fried noodles. He swallowed the food in his mouth before speaking “Hope you don’t mind me eating while you slept. After all that I got hungry.”
“It’s ok you don’t have to worry about it.” You said as you slowly sat up “Besides better that than waking up to you burning yet another beast. And whose fault was it I was this tired?” you teased
Baji only laughed at your teasing before holding your chin and guiding you to him to give you a kiss. “I’d gladly do all it again if I’m being totally honest.”
You looked at him and said “No one is exactly stopping you.”
He went near your ear and whispered “Is that an invitation?”
You playfully pushed him away “Not right now you doofus.” You said chuckling.
Baji scooped you into his arms and onto his lap hugging you tight “I just wanna gobble you up all day.” He said nuzzling his face on your neck before looking up and giving you another kiss. After having a taste of you he just couldn’t get enough. He wanted to go back for more and more. Baji’s feelings were translated into the kiss where he continued to deepen it while also beginning to nibble on your lips.
You knew where this was going you wanted more of him too, but unfortunately you decided against it tapping on his shoulder before pulling away saliva still connecting you both. You wiped your lips before speaking “Very tempting really, but we should rest. We still have the journey back.”
Baji’s face turned into a pout before burying his face in your neck again his droopy ear tickling your cheek. The sight was too adorable you couldn’t help but pet said soft looking ears. Baji hummed in content as his ears perked up again, taking pleasure in your attention. “Come on, Baji up we go. We still have to set up camp before nightfall.” You coerced while patting his back.
He let out a low whine before standing up picking you up with him which made you giggle while giving him a kiss on the cheek. Once your camp was set up, you two settled for the night, lying down next to each other. It didn’t take long before youre all over each other again. Both of you agreed not to go further than kissing tonight, after all you still need energy to go home. Who knows how long you two were kissing until you both fell asleep in each other’s arms. Baji holding you close and you holding his fluffy tail.
As you enter the village gates, Akkun happily greeted you “Welcome back! I hope it’s been a safe jou- WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO YOU?!” he looked you over in concern
“What’s wrong?”
“Look at your neck! You’ve got bites on you! You have to go to a medic right away!” he frantically said while pushing you to a carriage that was supposed to drive you home.
Oh goodness gracious. Baji’s bite marks didn’t even occur to you. You stepped away from his pushy hands and tried to reason with him “C-calm down Akkun. This isn’t anything fatal; otherwise I would’ve been rushing here. It didn’t even break skin, look just bruised.”
Akkun only looked at you in disbelief “A-are you sure sure? Those look pretty gnarly. Might be safer to get it looked over.”
“I’ll be fiiine~ It’s just some troublesome creature that didn’t let go until he was satisfied.” You said looking back at you and Baji’s intimacy. He really didn’t let you go until he was satisfied. You only chuckled at the memory.
“Sorry if I’m a little bit pushy, but are you sureyou don’t want that looked over?”
“I’m sure. It’ll disappear in a few days.” You then remembered how hard Baji was biting you and concluded that a few days might be too short “…maybe.”
You opened the carriage door before turning to the knight “Thanks for the concern Akkun, but I’ll be fine.” You said before boarding.
“Take good care of yourself. I wouldn’t want the reason for a new Red Riding Hood to be appointed because the last one died.” He jokingly said before closing the carriage door and signalling the driver that everything’s ready.
Akkun watched as the vehicle went off still a little bit concerned. Just then a knight came near him and said “I sense that our little Red Riding Hood has been having fun in the forest.”
Akkun gawked at the statement before giving said knight a light punch to the stomach “Get your head out of the gutter, Makoto!” he scolded one of his subordinates.
“I don’t recall any creature that can give such a bite and not break skin.” A knight with glasses stated.
“Not you too, Yamagishi! Takuya help me out here!” Akkun turned to the person who seemed sane along with him in their little team.
Takuya only turned to him and shrugged “I’m somewhat of a biter myself and those looked familiar to me.”
Akkun gave up, these three can be stupid in their own way at times, even more stupid than Yamagishi.
Seasons come and go faster than we realize and before you knew it, winter is upon the land. Since winter is a very harsh weather for travel, Red Riding Hoods are only required to deliver supplies once a month. As much as you’re happy at the little break from your job, you can’t help but be sad too. Seeing Baji less brought your spirits a little down, but a job is a job and you must see through it if you wanna live comfortably.
So here you are the lone red in a backdrop of a harsh white, like blood in snow. It’s not supposed to be there. You hope that thought coming to your mind is not some kind of bad omen.
Sadly fate followed through with that omen. You being the only red thing among the snow, you are very noticeable and a winter beast has been eyeing you for a while now. You noticed that someone or something has been following you, but you assumed that it was just Baji, but when he didn’t turn up you figured that it wasn’t him and now you’re extra vigilant.
As much as you would’ve loved to run, doing so in such a situation can only provoke what’s been following you into chasing you so you did your best not to make any sudden moves.
You were too focused on not spurring whatever’s been following you that you didn’t notice that you’ve already arrived at your destination. You make quick work of locking in the supplies in the drop off point since you suspected that whatever is following you is after the food.
Just as you were locking up, you heard a loud roar which likely came from the beast that’s now making a beeline towards the place containing the food. You tried to jump out of its way but it was still able to reach you and pushed you out of the way quite harshly. You ended but getting scratched by its claws but at least you landed on the soft snow.
You looked at the beast trying to claw at the container, but failing to get it to open. You took that opportunity to run away and put some distance between you and it. The beast having found the container futile, decided to go after the running prey. Just as you think you have lost the beast, you heard it coming near you. So you continued to run away trying to think of a way to shake it off you tail. You were so lost in thought that you didn’t see the branches that you ran into it. You were quick to get up but wasn’t able to run away since your red cloak got caught. You tried to make quick work on it, but you noticed that the beast is gaining on you. You pulled as hard as you could to your cloak that when it was free you stumbled back and hit your head to a nearby tree.
Now feeling a little dizzy, your run was slowed and a little wobbly. You eventually ran into a dead end. The wall didn’t seem to be too high; you know it’s within your abilities to climb it. But with your dizzy state, you were seeing double and that climbing said wall can result to even more injury.
You looked back and saw the beast slowly coming towards you. All you could do was close your eyes and hope that it won’t be painful. And so you waited…
And waited…
Until warmth envelopes you. You didn’t know what’s going on but you welcomed said warmth. It reminded you of the warmth Baji provided whenever he held you close to him. Oh how you so badly wanted him to be here right now.
You opened your eyes and was greeted by red against white. It was the blood of the beast flowing down onto the snow. You processed that someone was holding you and you were greeted by the comforting dark locks and amber gaze of Baji. He looks at you in guilt as if blaming himself of what just happened. You couldn’t stand the look of him bearing the sins of a mindless beast.
You reached out your hand to cup his cheek and gave him a grateful smile. “Baji, thank you. You saved me you have nothing to be guilty about.”
Baji tightened his hold on you and kissed your forehead. “I know, I just felt responsible since you’re very special to me and I want to protect everything that’s special to me.” Baji leaned down and pecked your lips “You’re one of my treasures. I can’t bear to lose you.” He said his eyes on the verge of tears.
“And I’m still here thanks to you. You protected your treasure.” You returned his kiss before hugging him “Baji, I’m tired. Can I go to sleep?”
“Not yet, we have to get you looked over.” He said worry laced in his voice as he gently stroke your head as if trying to push your dizziness away.
“I’ll be in your care.”
You didn’t remember much that happened after. All you could recall was the cold wind against you as Baji rushed through the forest, the sight of a cave above you along with a lilac haired man with matching ears before everything went to black.
Once Baji is sure that you’re settled, he put on his coat and started to head out.
“Where do you think you’re going?” the guy tending your wounds asked.
“Don’t stop me, Mitsuya. That beast’s body is still intact; I’ll go finish it off.”
Mitsuya stood up from beside you and took hs coat. “No you won’t, I’ll handle it. You watch over your precious. She’d be more comforted if she saw a familiar face when she wakes up.”
Baji clenched his fist, his eyes full of vengeance. “I’ll destroy every bit of that beast. I’d make its soul suffer if I could.” He muttered in clenched teeth his rage leaking out.
Mitsuya knew that Baji being in this state will only be bad for him in the end, so he decided to slap some sense into him. Mitsuya grabbed hold of Baji’s face and made him turn to your sleeping state “Look at her! You want to leave her here just so you could satiate your hunger for revenge?! You already killed the thing, she’s already in a safe state now go take care of her. I’ll handle the beast’s body.”
The sight of your peaceful face was enough to soften Baji’s intense anger and admittedly he really didn’t want to leave you here. If he could he would stay with you forever to protect you from ever being harmed again.
Mitsuya sensed that Baji has calmed down and let go of his face. “I’ll be off now. Take care ok?”
Baji only gave out a nod before kneeling down next to you. Mitsuya smiled at the sight of this Baji not having seen it often. But he’s glad that he has someone special that he can be himself with. No wonder he’s been in a good mood lately. And like that he’s off to the forest to leave the two be.
Morning came, and you roused from your slumber taking comfort in the warmth next to you. It was so familiar that you’re sure that it was who you thought it was. You looked up and saw Baji’s sleeping face his hair cascading across his face that he looked to ethereal. You wish you could burn the image into your mind. He’s as handsome as ever. You lifted your hand and slowly pushed the stray hairs on his face to behind his ears, but the action caused him to stir awake.
You waited for him to open his eyes, before flashing him a big smile “Sorry for waking you.”
Baji stayed silent just looking at you before his eyes widened and sat up quickly and leaning on to you. “Y-you’re awake?! Are you feeling ok, you feel anything unusual, hungry, thirsty?” he bombarded you with questions in concern.
Before you could respond, he dove for the bag right next to him and pulled out a canteen and handed it to you. Now that you’re looking at it, you did felt thirsty so you gladly took it and took a big gulp sighing in relief after quenching you thirst. Baji took the canteen from you as you were finished and handed you a container filled with food which you gladly devoured.
Baji only watched you closely trying to see if there’s anything to be concerned about. So far, you’ve been fine but he couldn’t help but worry after yesterday’s display. “How’s the cut on your arm?”
“Hmm?” you swallowed the food still in your mouth and felt around the bandaged wound. “It feels just fine. It’s like it’s never been there in the first place.”
Baji smiled at the information and gently grabbed your arm. He started to remove the bandages causing you to pull your arm in surprise “What are you doing?”
“You’ll see.” He held out his hand waiting for you to place your arm there. You trust Baji so you gave your arm to him.
He continued to remove the bandage and you were expecting to see a nasty wound, but what greeted you was your clean smooth skin which caused you to stare at your arm incredulously. Baji chuckled at your surprised face finding it cute. “A friend of mine patched you up. He’s no medic, but he’s very well prepared for situations like these.” He explained while caressing your healed arm. “He had an ointment on him that medics back home created made from herbs found in the forest. With a forest so big, there are a lot of things unexplored.” He looked up at you “It would seem that your village hasn’t discovered such a thing just yet.”
“That’s amazing!” you said still looking at your completely healed arm.
“I’d teach you to make it if I could, but sadly medicine isn’t a field I’m very knowledgeable with.”
“Then how about your friend? I wish I could’ve met him too.”
Baji chuckled “He doesn’t know how to make it too. He only carries it around because the rest of us can be muscleheads sometimes.”
“Well I get to learn it someday.” You said leaning into him as he hugged you “It would be a great asset to our village.” The thought of your village made you realize something. “How long was I out?” you asked concern written in your eyes.
“You’ve been out for a day. Why, is something wrong?”
“I-I have to get back home quickly!” you said quickly standing causing your vision to swirl. You wobbled but Baji caught you.
“H-hey calm down. Why in such a rush?”
“I have to get home quick!”
“W-why you shouldn’t even be moving too much. The ointment may have healed you but your body is still recovering from healing external wounds. You can’t be out and about right now especially in this cold weather.”
The reminder of the season caused you to shiver, suddenly feeling the cold. Baji tightened his hug when he felt you shiver. “I have to go home.” You said
“That sounded like there was an ‘or else’ was supposed to follow it.”
“I have to go home or… or I’ll be declared dead.” Baji tensed at that statement.
Baji pulled away from you to look at you but still close enough to hold you. “You’ll be declared dead?” he stared at the distance trying to figure it out but came to no reasonable reason “Why?”
“Being a Red Riding Hood is a dangerous job. We’re aware of what we’re getting into. They have a rule set in place where once a Red Riding Hood has not returned in the designated time, they will be declared dead.” You looked at Baji to see his reaction and he is infuriated. You could see his jaw clenching and his body tense ever since you started to explain the situation.
“Why don’t they send out a search party to look for missing Red Riding Hoods? Surely some of them only got lost.”
“Think about it Baji, you yourself are very familiar with the dangers of the forest. Do you think that those who went missing only got lost?”
“Then how about your grandmother, do you believe she’s dead too just because people who are too lazy to look for them declared that they’re dead?” he raised his voice which caused you to flinch a bit. He reached for your hand and you let him “I’m sorry, but you yourself have experienced the loss of someone out here. You still have hope to find your grandmother remember?” he reassured recalling one of your first conversations.
The rule has always been stupid in your eyes, but after years of studying of being a Red Riding Hood, they must have somehow buried that thought deep in you. Brainwashing you into thinking that said rule is a reasonable one. But thinking about it more, said rule is the reason you’re not with your grandmother anymore.
Too much emotion was going through you that you held on to Baji for comfort. In fact, it was too comforting that you ended up falling asleep in his arms. Baji gave the crown of your head a kiss before laying you back down and letting you rest. You need all the rest you can get because he just knows that you’ll insist on getting home once you wake up. He might even just carry you all the way there.
By the time you woke up, it was already evening. You smelled something good and saw Baji roasting something over the fire.
“Well rested?” he asked when he noticed you sit up.
“Like I could run a marathon!”
Baji sweatdropped and tried to reason “M-maybe not to that extent.”
“Well I technically have to run for a long time until I get home.”
“No need for that, I’ll just carry you. You can just enjoy the ride.” He said with a smirk no doubt confident in his abilities.
You chuckled at him “You know, when you say it like that something else comes to my mind you know.” You said blush slowly forming on your cheeks.
There was a slight pause as Baji processed what you just said just staring at you with wide eyes. He then smirked and said “There you are again riling me up.”
“Do you not like it?” you asked teasingly returning the smirk
“Never said such a thing.” He said as he took out whatever he was roasting off the fire.
You stood up and walked over to him not playing around. You lifted your leg over him and sat on his lap facing him. “Getting bold now are we.” He said his smirk growing bigger anticipating what will happen next.
“Are you still taking me for a ride?” you felt up his chest lacing your voice with a sultry tone trying to get him in the mood.
Baji placed his hands at your waist caressing it and occasionally wandering down to your butt. “In what context.” He teased
“You know…ride you.” You went close to him and gave his lips a kitten lick.
“I’m gonna need you to be more specific, darling.” He said before diving into your neck licking you there before giving you the first hickey of the night while also giving your butt a light smack.
“Please Baji! If you don’t take me right now I won’t be feeding you for the next month!”
“You treat me as if I’m some food motivated animal.” He said kissing you
“You sure act like it sometimes.” You responded in between his kisses.
Baji pulled away and looked at you with very dilated pupils. “Oh really? Then…” he lifted you up from where he was sitting and laid you down on your makeshift bed in the cave. “how about I eat you up. You’ll be my delicious meal for tonight.”
He went in to kiss you and took comfort of his tongue intertwined with yours. He indulged himself on your lips for a few more minutes before working to undress you and himself. Not long after, you two were passionately making out in the nude his hair cascading around you acting as sort of like a curtain, your only privacy.
Baji then slowly trailed kisses down to your neck where he placed a few more hickeys before proceeding to your chest. He took hold of it appreciating the feel of it against his hands before suckling on your nipples alternating between the two. After a few bite marks were given to your chest, he gave your tummy kisses.
You gasped when you felt Baji’s breath near your private parts. He adjusted himself and made room to slowly spread your legs. Guess you really were is meal, he looked starved when he caught sight of your glistening folds. Baji sat up and took a hair tie from his clothes and tied his hair back “Gotta make sure nothing gets in the way of my feast.” He placed your legs over his shoulders, held you down and gave your thighs a few bite marks.
Moans came out of your mouth as you felt his tongue give you a long lick tasting. Oh how he loved hearing those sounds knowing that he was the one to cause those. Baji gave her repeated licks savouring the taste of her burning it to his mind because he couldn’t get enough of it.
Baji was relentless, his tongue overwhelming you with sensations completely new to you. His pliant tongue a completely different experience from his thrusts back when you two were behind that waterfall. He was precise and you felt him everywhere, well it felt like it because the feel of him is the only thing you could feel and focus on.
After spending a while tasting your wetness, indulging himself in your taste. He figured he has tasted you enough that he should pay attention to your needs now. But you’d have to disagree as just his curious exploring was pleasurable as it is. Baji went to look for that bundle of nerves, and as soon as he came in contact with it, he felt you squirm away. Baji took hold of your legs on his shoulders and pulled you back and pinning you down. Now you’re a squirming and moaning mess underneath the mercy of his tongue. The stimulation was too much as you tried to squirm away once again but his tight grip on you prevented you from moving even a single inch from him.
The cave you two were in was filled with your moans and his slurping echoing across it which brought you an ounce of embarrassment and arousal. Just hearing those sounds excited you more, there’s something primalin the act of doing it in a cave, the thought bringing you excitement.
You felt around you trying to look for leverage to hold on to ground yourself from these sensations, but you settled at grabbing his hair and pulling occasionally. Since you couldn’t do anything but receive Baji’s actions, you were curious as to what he looked like and so you propped yourself on your elbows and peeked. What greeted you were Baji’s amber eyes staring at you intensely. The sight of Baji staring at you as he ate you out caused more wetness to gush out of you thoroughly aroused at the thought that he’s been watching you from the start.
Baji has been watching you, anticipating every single reaction he pulls out from you. He must know everything about you and how like to be pleasured, learning every single thing that brings you pleasure and excitement and exploiting them. Maybe even take advantage of it for the next time you get intimate. Everything about you just drives him crazy. He was in a daze he couldn’t stop and before he knew it a loud moan greeted his ears as fluids gushed out from you. He licked off every single drop off you clean before sitting up and licking his lips. He admired you and your limp and heavy breathing form, taking pride at his work.
As you were trying to catch your breath, you felt Baji lean over your figure and placed a kiss on your lips. Soon you felt something prodding at your entrance, but not right now. Not just yet. You sat up and pushed Baji into a sitting position with you leaning close to his face.
“That can wait. I have a different plan for now.” You said as you reached your hand behind his head and pulled his hair tie off his hair. You showed the object to Baji before using it to tie your hair back “Gotta make sure nothing gets in the way.” You quoted Baji from earlier which earned a chuckle from him.
You started to mimic how he went down on you. First kissing his neck and also leaving your little hickey before going down to his chest licking and tasting him. You took your time at his abdomen admiring it while also teasing him making him think that you’ll finally go down on him only to lick upwards again. You gave in after hearing him growl. You looked at him and his size seemed to lean on the bigger side. You weren’t sure if you could take all of him in your mouth, but might as well try.
You gave his tip a kiss and a lick before putting it in your mouth, swirling your tongue around just his tip. Trying to tease him more, you licked from the base of his cock all the way up slowly and flicking your tongue as you got to the tip. That seemed to be what caused Baji to snap. He grabbed you by the hair and shoved himself in your mouth. You giggled at his desperation before you started bobbing your head up and down your tongue still working in action.
Baji moaned loudly, throwing his head back as he indulged in the feeling of your mouth sucking him off. But he wasn’t one to pass up the sight of you and your face stuffed with his cock. He looked down and the sight almost made him come. He would’ve been done for if you were looking at him. Baji was quick to pull you away from him and kissing you. All the while kissing you, he pushed you down and hovered over you just appreciating in your beauty.
You could never tire of the view you have above you right now. Dishevelled hair around you both, his glistening lips, and the warm light of the bonfire made him appear even more sexier. It’s like everything around you was adjusting to you and Baji. Nothing else mattered except this moment between you two.
“Be a good girl for me and lie on your stomach, would you.”
Anything for him. You repositioned yourself and waited for Baji to make a move. You felt him kiss the small of your back his loose hair tickling you and made you squirm a little causing your butt to brush up to something hard.
Baji chuckled “Eager now, are we.” Ah, looks like he mistook it. No matter, you’ll both feel good later on anyway.
Baji’s hands explored your smooth back appreciating the feel of it against his hands and how you react to his every single touch whether it be a slight twitch or a whimper out of you, it excites him even more.
He leaned down to your ear “You ready?”
Once he saw you nod in response, he bit at your neck whilst inserting himself inside you. The feeling of each other’s closeness had you two letting out hot breaths, calming yourselves and letting you adjust to him. When you gave him the go ahead, he started ramming his hips into you. He couldn’t help himself from ravaging you, he’s been holding himself back ever since from the start.
You felt him lean down and felt his chest come into contact with your back as he continued to thrust into you. His pace started to quicken even more so you grabbed the nearest thing to you as leverage which happened to be Baji’s coat.
As soon as he saw you clutching at his coat, it sent him into overdrive standing on his knees and elevating your hips and holding your head down. He gave your butt a few smacks then proceeding to drive his hips into you once again. Baji pulled your hair up causing you to be on all fours.
“Look at you taking me so well.” He moaned out biting your neck once again “This is the third time I’ve been in you, right? You took me so well all times. Made me feel real good I couldn’t stop thinking about you after that.” He said between grunts.
Just as he said those words, he felt you clench at him “A-ahn~ you r-really do like praises huh.”
“You remember that? When I brought you back for the first time. You liked it when I sang you praises. Guess it carries over here too huh. Agh!” your insides clenched at him again. He grabbed your chin and made you face him “Driving me crazy here.” He kissed your lips tongue never failing to explore you.
After a few minutes of you two going at it, you eventually arrived at your climax which had you plop down on the makeshift bed ass still up. Baji rubbed himself a few more times before covering your back in white letting out a sigh of satisfaction.
Your back covered in his cum aroused him again; it makes him want to cover you with even more. But he knows he can’t, you still have to rest for tomorrow’s journey. He leaned down at your shoulder and bit down as his last ditch effort to satiate his current hunger, but sadly it only turned him on even more as he heard you moan in response to his bite.
You can tell that Baji is still raring to go but is holding himself back. “Keisuke,” you called in a breathy voice still trying to catch your breath “What’s stopping you?”
“Tomorrow, you need rest for tomorrow.” He kissed you again finding your dazed look to be irresistible.
“I thought you offered to carry me all the way home.” You teased
“I did say that.”
“And speaking of rides,” You sat up and sat on his lap, your cunt sliding against his already semi hard cock “I haven’t gotten my ride for tonight.”
Baji relented, grabbing your waist and guiding you to hover over his cock. “Do as you please.” He said with a smirk licking your collarbone.
Slowly, you sank yourself onto him with Baji’s arms stiff on your waist restraining himself from just slamming you down on him. It’s your ride, you do as you please. But goodness you sure are a good way to train his self-control because you keep testing him. By the time he’s fully in you, you caught sight of his knitted brows and a few droplets of sweat on his forehead.
You decide to spare him and slowly bounced yourself on him with Baji groaning in pleasure in response. You felt his hand on your waist go tighter. You can tell that he wants more, but you decide to just go at your pace going slowly. You low-key anticipate the impending rough treatment of you when he gets fed up with your ‘teasing’.
It didn’t take long before he’s biting on your neck and is now the one bouncing you on his cock. Baji laid on his back and continued to thrust up into you. You were glad he took initiative in this situation because you weren’t sure if your thighs could hold you up any longer considering his treatment of you in your first round.
Soon enough, you billowed out a moan your body twitching ever so slightly before collapsing on his chest. Baji pulled out of you and closed your thighs together and thrusted in there instead. The feeling of your soft lower lips and thighs rubbing him was what brought him to his second climax of the night. He felt you slowly dozing off on him. He pulled the blanket over the two of you before repositioning you into a much more comfortable sleeping position. He made sure to clean up the both of you before going to sleep himself.
You were woken up with Baji shaking you. When you woke up you were already dressed. “Time to go.”
You yawned and stretched before getting up preparing to leave. Travelling through the forest on a wolf’s perspective is a very new experience. You can’t help but close your eyes in bliss as you felt the wind in your hair blowing against you from the speed Baji was running. You vaguely remember this feeling when you were still injured after he saved you from the beast. You’re just happy you get to experience it again more clearly.
Baji suddenly came to a stop and when you looked ahead there are the gates of your village. On a normal circumstance you’d be happy at the sight of your home, but right now you’re only filled with dread. The gate lock was adorned with a red ribbon.
You hopped off Baji and approached said ribbon. “We’re too late.”
“What?! But you still have the rest of the day to return!”
“I know. They sure are quick to claim my death. Guess that’s that then.”
“You’re just gonna let them do that?!”
“Baji, once the ribbon is set there’s no way they’ll let me in anymore. It’s another one of those stupid rules. I’m not welcome here anymore.”
After all the work you did for them, they’re gonna dispose of you just like that??? Hell no, fuck those bastards, you’re not going back there. “You still have another place you’re welcome to go home to.”
Baji held his hand out to you “Come home with me. You’re more than welcome there. The pack would love you!”
You immediately took his hand. “If I’m being totally honest, I would prefer to be with you rather than stay in a place where not a lot cares about me. I missed you a lot when I couldn’t see you.”
Baji pulled you in for a hug and kissed you. “You’ve always been in my mind too. Now we don’t have to be apart anymore. We can be together whenever we want, wherever we want.”
“Let’s go to your home then.”
“Our home.” He corrected
“Yes, our home.”
And with that the two of you ran into the forest ready to start a new chapter in your lives where a new companion is by their side.

I’ve been seeing an uptick in “anti-RWDE” posts lately  — which is a phenomenon I’d like to comment on at a later date  — but for now one of them (quite unintentionally) made me realize something about the finale that I haven’t seen others discuss yet.
So RWBYJNOR saves everyone, right? Let’s just put aside the animation for a moment  — which didn’t show any army members making it out  — as well as the forgotten side characters  — Maria, Pietro, Qrow’s group isn’t forgotten, but still left behind  — and take things on good faith here. We’ll read the finale through the thematic intention: RWBYJNOR saved “everyone” in the Kingdom of Atlas in Volume 8, deliberately contrasting them with Ironwood who was willing to sacrifice a chunk of the Kingdom in Volume 7. Forget all the messiness and just accept that regardless of the consequences  — like a destroyed Kingdom and a “dead” team  — the heroes are heroic because they didn’t give into a “lesser evil” thinking and managed to save everyone.
Now, how was that possible?
Let’s go back to the beginning of the seventh episode of Volume 8, “War.” Salem’s grimm have just burrowed through Atlas’ defenses and taken them out. The shields are gone. She flies Monstra into the fields and releases an army of darkness that immediately heads for the city. What’s the very first thing Ironwood does?
Soldier: Yes, sir?
Ironwood: I am evacuating all citizens to the subway. Prepare Manta Squad Omega, and dispatch to every part of Atlas.
Soldier: But sir-
Ironwood: Now!
He evacuates the people, with “the people” meaning all the Atlesians and however many Mantle folk got to the city prior to Salem’s arrival. When this episode aired I mentioned being confused as to why the soldier was so hesitant. Why wouldn’t you want the people to get to safety when a grimm army is heading their way? Fans against Ironwood took the soldier’s side, claiming that Mountain Glenn proved that any underground evacuation is a death sentence and thus he obviously doesn’t really care about the peoples’ safety. Fans in support of/neutral towards Ironwood pointed out that this is a pretty big leap, no one is coming up with a better idea for what he should do instead, and that within these circumstances it reads like the soldiers is illogically against this idea simply because everyone is against Ironwood now. The show wants characters criticizing his decisions and making him out to look like a crazed dictator... even during moments when it doesn’t make any sense to be upset with him. Shooting the councilman yes, trying to keep the people safe no. Basically, this small exchange was a mess, but the rest of the volume proved that this was a sound call. The subway never collapsed and no grimm ever made it to that enclosed space to pick the civilians off like fish in an underground barrel.
So, why didn’t that happen? Well, one answer is because Oscar and Ozpin destroyed the whale. But how did they have time to do that? Without the people dying while they were being tortured, talking to Hazel, escaping with Emerald, fighting Salem, etc.? A lot happened between Salem starting her attack and Oscar ending it, so why wasn’t 2/3rds of the Kingdom’s population decimated during that time?
Because Ironwood sent his army out to keep the grimm occupied.
Outside of Ironwood’s cartoon villain actions  — random murders and bomb threats  — which get the most attention due to how deliberately, over-the-top horrific they are, these are the two actions that get the most negative attention from both the story and the fanbase. The soldier seems horrified by the order to evacuate. Marrow is devastated that young adults are fighting in this battle. The fandom is disgusted by both aspects of Ironwood’s character: giving orders that, as general, he expects to be obeyed and having an army that follows those orders. Putting side that cartoon villainy, this is what supposedly makes Ironwood the antagonist here. These are the qualities that have existed since Volume 2, resulting in a “he was always a bad guy” interpretation. These are the qualities that have resulted in anyone who likes his character being labeled as a “bootlicker.” We know these qualities make the fandom hate him because otherwise, more people would be confused as to why a presumably heroic character randomly shot Oscar. Orders, armies, and general military associations are at the heart of Ironwood’s presumed villainy.
So let’s remove them.
Ironwood has no evil army. Ironwood gives no evil orders. Power and control lies solely in the hands of our non-military heroes. Everything is better!
...well, no. Because we saw in Volume 8 precisely the choices our heroes made when the attack started: half of them focused on saving a single individual (Oscar) and the other half kept to the sidelines. At no point did our RWB group act after sending the message and prior to securing the Staff. AKA, during the attack of Salem’s army. We got a very explicit moment in which Ruby looked out the window at the battle going on and turned away from it, continuing to discuss ethics instead of joining the fight. The people of Atlas (which, again, includes many Mantle citizens) had no one but Ironwood and his army because a third of the group was trying to rescue Oscar (they never even had a plan to blow up Monstra — that was also Ironwood), a third of the group was up in Amity, and a third was sitting in the mansion. They did nothing to help the people of Atlas being attacked by grimm.
Thus, if you remove Ironwood’s actions, everything goes to hell. There is no longer an order to evacuate to the subway. Maybe some people go there anyway. Most probably don’t. They run in a panic wherever they can. Hide wherever they can. Go back home for some semblance of safety.
There’s no longer an army. Either it doesn’t exist because we’ve determined it’s simplistically bad despite RWBY’s grimm-specific context, or Ironwood likewise never gives the order to protect Atlas’ border. Salem’s army moves unimpeded through the city, killing countless people as it goes. How do we know? Because they’re civilians who can’t defend themselves and there’s literally no one else to help. Remember: Ironwood is not giving orders, there is no army, RWB is in the mansion, YJOR is in the whale, Penny is out of commission, the Happy Huntresses are in Mantle. Those in Atlas are entirely alone. In time, Oscar destroys the whale, but by then it’s too late. There’s no concrete way to theorize how many have died, but it’s inevitably a lot. Everyone else is scatted across the city, trying to survive.
So this scene
Tumblr media
no longer exists.
When the group gets the Staff and creates portals for “everyone” to escape through, Mantle is ready to go. They’ve gotten everyone into the crater and can funnel them straight to Vacuo. Atlas, however, is in chaos. When Jaune enters the subway there’s only a few people there, many of which may be wounded or dying. He’s right back where he started, in Mantle at the beginning of Volume 8: needing to go door-to-door to find where people have hidden themselves, trying to convince them all to follow him (remember Oscar commenting to Ozpin about how difficult that was?). Except now, he and Nora are the only ones trying to get people to safey, the city is filled with far more grimm, a significant amount of time has passed for people to be killed or injured (making evacuating them even harder, both due to injuries and an unwillingness to leave hurt/dead/missing loved ones behind), he’s trying to convince these panicking people to go through magic portals, not just walk to a crater, and he’s aware that there’s a very short time limit for this task.
Jaune returns in a panic of his own, explaining how difficult it will be to get that 2/3rds of the Kingdom to Vacuo. How many are already dead. Barricaded. Missing. Closeup on Ruby looking horrified, but then she rallies. They can do it. Atlas is falling, but residual dust gives them just enough time to find, calm, and evacuate those people. They’re heroes after all. Beating the odds is what they do.
Then Cinder attacks.
Suddenly, the group can’t evacuate people because they’re trying to keep themselves safe from her. Maybe Cinder gets the powers because Jaune was off looking for civilians, leaving Penny without a mercy kill. Maybe Nora dies because she’s still trying to help people on the city that plows into the one below. Regardless of how details might change, they’re not getting a spread out, decimated population through those portals before Cinder changes the wish and makes them disappear.
In this version, the story starts with Ironwood wanting to sacrifice 1/3rd of the population to save 2/3rds and the future of the war. It ends with 2/3rds of the population dying instead.
This is what I mean when I say the majority of the fandom wants to view a very complex situation through a ridiculously simple lens. The fandom wants to denounce every bit of RWBY’s fictionalized military, the context issues of that aside. The story wants to paint RWBYJNOR as the only heroes, in part because they succeeded in saving everyone (“everyone”) in the Kingdom when Ironwood gave up.
But they only managed to save everyone because of Ironwood. Because he kept fighting for his people to the bitter end. This is why, though his horrific actions obviously exist in the story, they make no sense (he’ll threaten to kill his people so he can... save his people?) and mess up what little is working in the finale. The story wants us to celebrate the group for evacuating Mantle and Atlas, but the Atlas evacuation would not have happened if not for Ironwood’s actions  — the actions that are ignored in favor of having Winter blame him for everything and then killing him off. The rescue of “everyone” was very much a joint effort. RWBYJNOR’s win is not actually a contrast to Ironwood’s intended sacrifice, for the simple reason that their win depended entirely on Ironwood’s actions.
If we’re going to celebrate the group getting everyone to safety, we should probably also celebrate the guy who got them all to an easy evacuation point and ensured they weren’t eaten before then. Does that mean Ironwood never did anything wrong? Of course not. As established, the story went out of its way to make him into a villain. Rather, it means that other parts of the story failed to maintain that black and white view, complicating the heroism of RWBYJNOR in the process. If we want Ironwood to be incapable of heroic action, always the bad guy, nothing good to say about him whatsoever... then we likewise need to accept that the group is rather unheroic in many regards too. That, on their own, they would have failed to save everyone, just as Ironwood’s plan failed to save everyone at the end of Volume 7. Because they chose their friend over a kingdom. Because they sat around in a mansion. Because by the time they took action again and tried to escape, without Ironwood’s help they would have lost a larger majority than they originally insisted be saved.
