my favorite instances of diegetic sound effects being used for non-diegetic purposes in Hot Fuzz

#the well-timed cash register sound is used multiple other times in the film but this is my favorite instance of it #since it communicates danny's piqued interest so well #the effect of the tape rewinding sounds is so subtle but it's sososososo cool once you notice it #the arcade sound effects are the most obvious but the way they travel with the camera makes my brain feel so good each time i see that scene #hot fuzz #edgar wright #i love cinematography #simon pegg #nick frost #the cornetto trilogy #cornetto trilogy #running my mouth #made this with my hands
