If you’ve never seen the 1973 cult classic, Soylent Green, now’s a good time, b/c it was supposed to be set in the year 2022, and here we are. People were being made into food- little green squares. In exchange for turning themselves in, before they died, they got to hear their choice of music. (Big Deal.) The population of NYC is over 8M today, so I guess they needed to get rid of some.

In ya go.

People turned into little edible green squares.

Looks like they lied.

What made me think about it, was this drink. (The mint gets rid of the people-y taste.)

recently watched Soylent Green (1973) and not only is it depressing how relevant the political commentary of a 50 year old movie still is. but, and I know I’m gonna sound like a boomer saying this, I don’t think any of the disney-marvel-whateverthehell studios have the balls to make something as explicitly anti-capitalist as this now.
