Honey
Cleanse your space, mind and body. Ground yourself and set your intentions.
Steep your tea and add the cinnamon stick and honey to your glass.

For the past week we've had the new project Boundless Box from Boundless Theatre here in town! It was an awesome time for the two activities we managed to attend, making cyanotypes and tea blending. We made the cyanotypes with Dave on the weekend, and went to have a couple cups of tea this morning by myself. Brought the rollator both times.
It was really fun, and it's always so great to see more free creative activities available. We also talked a little about accessibility, since a wheelchair wouldn't have been able to go inside the box (I was using my powerchair the first time we saw the box at the park and I couldn't go check it out), and I recommended a suitcase ramp because I think it'd work quite well.
They're going to be doing two more locations this summer -

Chapter 3: Jasmine Tea
Narrated by Mary.
Mary: Sorry, Miss Sal, would you excuse me?
Sal: No problem, work comes first!
Mary: Simone, please take my place outside the guest lounge.
Sal: Wow, these palace people sure are formal even when talking to the maids.
Narrator: Sal mutters behind me, but my mind is already elsewhere as I rush to the rose garden where the afternoon tea is held.
Narrator: The venue is surrounded by glass walls overgrown with roses. The maids are setting the table when I arrive.
Narrator: The boxes of pine needle tea I ordered are sitting neatly on the pantry shelves, but I know the Duchess no longer wants them.
Narrator: There’s no time to go back to Sal and ask her what tea the Duchess DOES want. But what if I get another brand and she hates it?
Narrator: I consider my options over an open box of pine needle tea. The elegant fragrance is very soothing despite the situation.
Narrator: The fragrance makes me feel as if I were in a tranquil garden after the rain... as if I’ve just sniffed a bouquet of jasmines!
Narrator: Jasmine tea is a tad more fragrant than pine needle tea, but it’s just as refreshing and calming.
Narrator: If I mix both together, it’ll be the perfect combination!
Narrator: I immediately get to work. Using pine needle tea as a base, I add in some dried jasmine petals from our tea pantry.
Narrator: The dried petals float serenely on the surface. Their fragrance blends harmoniously with the tea.
Narrator: I place two cups of jasmine tea on the tray and serve it to the Duchess.
Narrator: The Duchess studies the clear, green liquid, and the white petals curiously, then takes a careful sip.
Narrator: Will she like it? I hope I didn’t ruin the day. I wait anxiously for her comment.
Duchess: Brisk and exquisite. Lovely. What tea is this?
Mary: It’s jasmine tea with a pine needle tea base, Madame.
Duchess: What a unique combination. I see why you’re Her Majesty’s most trusted maid.
Mary: I’m flattered, Madame.
Duchess: May I ask your maid for the formula for this tea, Your Majesty?
Ophelia: Of course, Madame Humphrey.
Narrator: I didn’t expect the Duchess to like it this much! Relieved, I glance at Queen Ophelia, who smiles softly at me.
Choose “So did they discuss important business?”
You: Did the Queen and the Duchess discuss any important business while having tea?
Narrator: No idea. I’m just a maid.
Narrator: But judging from Queen Ophelia’s expression, she seems to have enjoyed the meeting. And that’s enough for me.
Narrator: She’s got too much to bear on her shoulders. I just want to see her happy.
Narrator: After the day’s work is done, I return to my room and take the jasmine petal I picked up in the morning out of my pocket.
Narrator: I really have to thank it for helping me through this small mishap this afternoon.
Narrator: I set it down by the window. Reminiscing about the day, I start sketching a white, layered dress that resembles a jasmine.
Mary: I guess white is my lucky color today indeed.
Narrator: As long as you believe, good fortune will be yours.

Calm Herbal Tea
Sometimes, especially on a Friday, after a long and busy week, you need a moment to relax, to ease the tension out of your muscles and to have a little peace and quiet. A cocktail would be just fine, but if it happens to be a rainy day, this fragrant and floral Calm Herbal Tea works wonders, too!
Ingredients (makes 1/3 cup):
about 2 dozens dried cowslip flowers (primula veris)*
about 2 1/2 dozens dried jasmine flowers (trachelospermum jasminoides)**
a teaspoon Dried Lavender
*when foraging Cowslip flowers in the Spring, rinse them under cold water, and let them dry on a plain sheet of paper, a couple of weeks; when completely dried, store in an airtight jar
**Pick fresh jasmine when in full bloom in the Summer. You can make lovely bouquets with it, too. Once it start withering, remove the flowers from the stems and space them on a small tray or a plain sheet of paper. Allow to dry in a draught-free room, with indirect sunlight, a couple of weeks; then store in an airtight jar.
In a small bowl, combine, dried Cowslip flowers, dried jasmine flowers and Dried Lavender. Stir well to mix.
You can either store your Sweet Dreams Herbal Tea into a metal tea box or sealed (sterelised) glass jar, or wrap a heaped half-teaspoon of the blend into a muslin square, and tie with cotton thread to make individual tea bags (you should get about five).
Infuse Calm Herbal Tea, 6 to 8 minutes in hot water.
