Niemand weet of dit gaat eindigen want als je probeert vrede te krijgen komt de president Loxe je halen of je hebt iets fout gedaan. In 2062 worden Haily en haar zus Amanda meegenomen naar het capitool waar Lox en de koning Loxe wonen. Ze weten niet waarom ze zijn meegenomen maar Haily heeft het gevoel dat Amanda dit allemaal heeft gepland. Ze word ook in het capitol mishandeld door haar gave. Ze kan ook nooit haar zus zien door die strenge "maatregelen". Maar wat moet ze doen? Ze kan niet vluchten... Haily is 20 jaar en heeft maar 9 jaar zonder oorlog kunnen leven wat dus geen pretje was. Thuis had ze het ook niet al te goed. Ze had ook een rare gave als ze té boos of verdrietig is heeft ze opeens vuur krachten. Haar situatie is niet al te best. Zeker als de koning je dood wil. Lox is 22 jaar en is de kroonopvolger want zijn vader is de koning. Hij heeft de beste jeugd ooit gehad! Hij kreeg alles wat hij wilde en zelfs waar hij kon wonen! Hij heeft ook 3 jaar in discrit 55 gewoond, waar ook Haily woon(de)..
