Contemplation

Elizabeth sits in her room, thinking back on what had happened earlier. Her, Ciel, Prince Soma, Agni, Sebastian, and others. A nice Easter egg hunt, but...

When she'd told Ciel to go find the egg she'd specially made and said 'just like old times!' he didn't argue. He acted like he knew what she was talking about.

They had never done anything like that before. This was her first year making an egg. And not for the first time she wondered. 'Was it her Ciel who came back, or Sirius?'

But she ignores it, surely, surely he would've told her if he wasn't Ciel but Sirius... right?

And yet, there are differences that she can't ignore. The small things, that Ciel never would've done before, the unconscious things. But there are some other bigger things, like his asthma.

Ciel never had asthma before, but Sirius did. Ciel treated the servants as little better then beggars, Sirius had laughed and played with them. Ciel hated frills, Sirius didn't. Sirius would pick flowers with her, Ciel would claim it childish.

There are so many things that point towards it, but Elizabeth doesn't want to believe. So, she'll live within her own world and try to ignore the facts.

(I would never want a wife like Aunt Francis, she's too scary! So I'm lucky that I'll have you as a wife.)

Those were the words Ciel had said when she was 10 and he 9. But yet, here, years later. He all but said that he was an idiot, that her being strong was fine.

It didn't make sense.

But she can ignore it, is willing to ignore it.

Because she loves him, and so, she's willing to wait for him to be willing to open up. However long it takes.

Aww, Hi, Nick! (Please don't die on us now that we know your name.)

Nick wants to play outside as much as the other classes, but he's forced to stay inside and pine away for outdoor activities... while he studies and plays board games inside instead.

Nick and the other "Pomeranians" get to eat sweets every day and are treated like nobles, but they are stuck indoors most of the time. That last part is more like our earl than real Ciel, because our earl was the sickly one who stared out the window at real Ciel and Lizzie, just like Nick now stares out the window at those "Corgis".

These kids are being forced to conform to the roles they've been given, based entirely on those aptitude test results... which have more to do with blood typing and personality charts than the answers they give to the written test. Though the written test probably helps to support the personality chart stuff.

By fifth year, he’s “conversing” with his former bully/child’s godparent & a former Grim Reaper. Does he regret his life choices slightly? Yes. Will he ever give up his wards and kids?? Absolutely not.

Bonus: “No, Black, giving Potter a priceless cursed artifact from the Black vault is a reckless idea. Someone or something will end up cursed, and Minerva will have to handle it. Do you want to be the subject of her wrath? No, I didn’t think so.”

| summary: y/n was told to follow the brightest star in the night sky, and now that very star was burning out with recent events, as secrets and lord are revealed |

She held a candelabra as she walked down a dark hallway toward the young master's chambers. She sensed his unease and decided to make warm milk with sugar to help him sleep. She opened, the door and found him sitting up in bed unable to sleep.

"I sensed your unease and made some warm milk and sugar." She said, and he looked up at her with a faint smile. As if glad she was the one to enter rather than Sebastian.

She handed him a warm milk and sugar drink. He tapped the empty space beside him and she sat on the other side of the bed. She took a sip from her mug, revealing a scar on her arm from the Campania. Despite being a demon, she never feasted on a soul and only ate human food. To fully heal, she needed rest.

He'd never been more scared in his life at that moment on the ship when she passed out in his arms as she bled out from the wound sustained from death scythe. He didn't want to lose another person he cared about.

“My mother, used to tell me to follow the brightest star in the sky.” She said smiling, as she looked down at the warm milk.

She chuckled softly as if reliving the moment. "My mother used to hold me and point to the brightest star in the night sky. She'd say, 'If I'm not here, follow that star and I'll be near.' " She took a sip of the warm milk, reminded of her mother.

She then turned towards him, “That stars name, Sirius.” She said, and he looked at her not saying a word.

“I even named my cat, Sirius,”

He couldn’t help but look at her and scoff, just as he named Sebastian after his dog. She named her cat after…

“He was the cutest little black cat ever, and had the most softest fur and cutest meows.” She said, looking at him.

“You sound just like, Sebastian.” He said, and she giggled, at what he said.

“Like father like daughter,” she said, raising the mug to her lips and taking another sip of warm milk.

Before pausing, she knew he had his reasons of keeping such a deep rooted lie. “I don’t blame you,” she said, looking down at the warm milk that was slowly starting to cool off. She rubbed the mug with her thumb before turning to look at him.

He looked at her and looked away, as if wanting to avoid the conversation. “I’ve also been lying,” She said, and he looked at her in shock.

“Pfft, who isn’t lying everyone lies that’s what people do.” He said, and she looked at him.

She finished her mug and placed it on the nightstand before turning to him. "People have their reasons, just as you had your own, and I have mine."

She then gives him a playful side eye, “Like Y/n isn’t my actual name.” She said, and he looked at her and she grinned.

He asked if y/n was her real name. She grinned and explained that it was her human name and she couldn't reveal her demon name because it was too terrifying. He gave her a deadpan stare, unamused.

She shook her head, smirking. "Don't give me that look, young master," she said before turning to face him. Leaning in, she whispered her true name - something she had never done before, and would only do for someone she trusts.

As the demonic whispers subsided, she pulled back and her eyes returned to the same color as her father. "No need to tell me your real name. You can tell me when you're ready, or never." She said, smiling and he looked at her and then looked away.

"But, I will say"

She smiled at him and said, "I've always liked the name Sirius. It's the brightest star in the night sky. It's always been there for me, and now it's my turn to be there for him," despite her panicked heart, she wanted to support him through the rough time.

She decided to give him some space and got out of bed, grabbing her mug from the nightstand. "I should go, I've already overstayed my welcome," she said.

She felt a grip on her wrist and turned to see him. "Stay," he said. She raised an eyebrow and replied, "Very well." She placed the mug on the nightstand, sat on the bed, and slipped under the covers.

As they stood facing each other, her cheeks started to flush, and they delicately interlocked their pinkies. "The name Earl Ciel Phantomhive is rightfully mine, and I am determined to take it back," he declared, with a resolute tone in his voice. She furrowed her brows a little, silently hoping that he would reveal his true identity. Nevertheless, she couldn't help but smile warmly at him and responded, "I have no doubt that you will succeed." As they settled into bed, the atmosphere was serene and tranquil.

He briefly looked at her with a smile, then took her hand and kissed it. "I want you to be by my side to help me achieve my goals," he said. She couldn't help blushing and her heart was racing.

"I'm here for you," she said as they intertwined their fingers. Using her powers, she waved her fingers to blow out the candles. They fell asleep with smiles on their faces, having found each other.

Maleficent (2014) but it's a Black Butler Dadbastian AU

(please bear with me I haven’t watched the film since I was in like, sixth grade lmao)

okay where to start uhhhhh

Okay right off the bat, Sebastian is Maleficent

Like, it can’t get anymore simple than that really.

He’s got the vibe (somewhat), he’s got the style (sorta), he’s got the raven/crow thing (kinda)

Just replace Maleficent’s dragon form with Sebastian’s true demon form

And the sleeping curse cast by Maleficent saying that Aurora would prick her finger on the spinning wheel when she turns sixteen and stuff?

That can also be somewhat paralleled to Sebastian’s contract to steal and consume Ciel’s soul in Black Butler canon

(Idk if that part is gonna be in this AU or not but just an observation)

ok anyway-

the role of Aurora is gonna be played by Ciel

And his false name (like how Aurora was called “Briar Rose”) would probably be whatever his real name in canon probably was

Probably something like “Sirius” or “Astre” or something. “Sirius Astre” maybe?

I talked about this AU concept with my good buddy @eemoo1o-animoo and they suggested that Ciel liked playing “lord” as a child (since he was cursed by Sebastian he was raised as a peasant by three incompetent servants–I mean, fairies.)

By the way, yes, the fairies are being played by the Phantomhive servants (Finny, Mey-Rin, and Baldroy) because there's literally no reason why they shouldn't be. It's too perfect of a role for them to not be casted in.

And so when Ciel finds Sebastian in the woods he makes him go along with it, maybe having Sebastian call him “my lord” and stuff.

I’d imagine he’d get annoyed with following his incompetent guardians’ parental orders, so he’d want to be the one giving orders for once, even if it’s just a little pretend game.

And who the prince is gonna be you may be wondering?

No one other than my girl Lizzy of course

I mean, she’s not only got a sword in canon, but she’s also engaged to him

Just like how Philip is betrothed to Aurora in the source material

Sebastian VS the Demon in Black Butler

While reading through Black Butler again, I noticed that I seem to view the demon and Sebastian as two very different characters. To me, Sebastian seems like a character even in the canon - a part for the demon to play, a simple means to an end. As you go through the canonical timeline, you can see the butler persona develop ever further, as highlighted in the flashback sequence in the Luxury Liner arc / Book of the Atlantic.

Here are some examples of this. Ciel is downright insulted by this demon at their first encounter, and belittled. Once the contract is finalized, of course, the demon adapts quickly to the persona of Sebastian, but not completely. Dialogue from the beginning form of Sebastian has him using phrases such as, "It goes without saying," (talking about how he will never lie to Ciel) and, "This is... quite dreadful." (when referring to the state of the Phantomhive manor) A proper butler would likely never say such things to their master, but it seems in the world of Black Butler, even demons aren't perfect.

His dialogue, and his whole personality evolves to become much more like a butler, as Ciel says nearing the end of the flashback in the Luxury Liner arc.

Examples of this are ample everywhere in the series, especially during the Luxury Liner arc and beyond. Even when Sebastian is the closest to death we have ever seen him, he apologizes to Ciel for being seen "like this."

However, his personality especially is where I think the biggest changes in him show. I believe Agni has had the largest role in this adaptation. The one moment that I think provided the most change from Agni was in the Circus arc, when Agni stands up to Sebastian and asks him, "How can you call yourself Lord Ciel's butler?" He goes on to explain that being a butler means making your own decisions sometimes, not just following the instructions of your master. The demon has been, up until this point, a textbook version of a butler- an almost mechanical persona that serves his master and nothing else. But now, with Agni's input, Sebastian begins to realize that his butler persona was not, in fact, perfect - and this is how Sebastian becomes somewhat more independent in the later chapters, offering advice to Ciel, even unprompted, and otherwise helping him even when he's not ordered to.

This is shown, on one occasion, in the Blue Cult arc, when Sebastian notices the needle prick in Ciel's arm after the special "Sirius" event. He takes the situation into his own hands, and quickly rushes him to Seiglinde. This parallels the events of the Circus arc, where Ciel is also harmed, by his asthma. However, on that occasion, Sebastian does not notice his master's painfully visible fever and coughing, and it takes Ciel having an asthma attack for Sebastian to seek help. Sebastian clearly becomes more perceptive of his young master's health and overall actions later in the series, even offering his own input to help Ciel achieve his ultimate goal of revenge against the people who ruined his life.

Of course, over the chapters, we tend to forget that Sebastian is more than a means to the end. He becomes, even as demonic as he is, more human, fooling us as he does the characters in the series. But hiding behind the façade of a butler is a real demon, evil as he is cunning. And I think we would all do well to remember that. Sebastian will likely rear his true face and personality at the end of the series, and we'll finally see what the demon behind the face is really like.

Sorry if this is kind of a lukewarm take, but I thought I'd throw in my two cents on it.
