#Sasuke gains weight

Hey, do you remember or know the name of an old sasusaku fanfic where Sasuke after killing Itachi gains weight because he eats whenever he thinks about Itachi. I think only Sakura and Kakashi recognizes him, and Sakura helps him out with exercise and a diet. Naruto didnt recognize him, but was friendly with him.
Hey nonny,
Thanks for stopping by! 💕
I don't know this fic, so I searched for it. I tried a few different combinations of keywords and used the description you shared, but I can't find a fic close to the one you're looking for. For example, a few results were from a HS AU of sorts and Itachi wasn't mentioned.
Maybe someone here will know this fic, so I'm asking for help.
Does anyone know this fic or anything else about it?
I appreciate the help and hope we'll find this soon. 🙏
Stay Safe,
xoxo

itachi hcs with a pregnant s/o:
itachi was the happiest man on earth when he got to know that you're pregnant. he truly did love you a lot. despite the uchihas being ill-famous for promoting clan marriages and arranged marriages; itachi did none of those things. he married someone not from his clan. all the backlash he received was brutally stomped by the uchiha when he claimed the title of the hokage. people did talk behind his back about it, but it didn't bother him. he had two goals -- keep his family safe, keep konoha safe.
it was one of the few times you saw itachi's eyes glossed, when you braced yourself for a reaction from him after sharing the news. "that- you blessed me today, my angel." he happily declares, pulling you close and kissing you softly, there weren't any emotions he could muster up except unadulterated, unfiltered and sort of overwhelming love for you.
the whole pregnancy was kept a secret, only the closest of people knew. mikoto, fugaku, sasuke, your family, shisui maybe. that's all. itachi was presumed as someone who stretched his working hours but ever since you had been pregnant, he always left work on time. not a minute late. anything else can wait, absolutely urgent things can be handled accordingly. nothing is as urgent as his wife and unborn child.
itachi is a master chef, he makes sure he masters things to the point of perfection. no matter what he tried. culinary skills were one of them. creating diet-plans and extensively following them. you had a filled pantry for all your mood swings. you had the best breakfast and dinner. lunch you could manage for yourself and your man. though itachi never obligated you to.
itachi has always given you flowers every week, this only changed to the quantity of them doubled. he needs to gift the child the flowers too. you don't know this but one of the flowers are always placed on itachi's hokage desk so he knows when it's time to change them. he also tends to them when he's at home with you. easy to observe.
when you start gaining weight and feeling insecure about it, itachi is more than happy to give you a ted-talk, and if needed… show you how perfect you are by loving you. of course he has read he needs to be slow and gentler while making love. your unhinged thirst and his unhinged lust that comes out at times needs to, and has to wait for now.
itachi brings you monthly gifts to commemorate your pregnancy, every month a little trinket of appreciation for his wife. some days it can be extremely materialistic, some days it's a beautifully handwritten letter from itachi that he wrote while you were asleep.
itachi loves to talk to the baby, leaning against the headboard while you lean against his chest, he rubs your belly and muses, talking to them about how this world is something he promises would be a safe space. how they don't have to be a ninja if they don't want to. how he will try to balance his work duties and the duties of being the 'best' otou san!
when you feel nausea and the joint pain, itachi is there for relief. always bringing foods that reduce the restlessness. since you can't be too dependent on the medications as a pregnant lady.
itachi loves taking bubble baths with you, soothingly massage your body and just let you relax. he's figured out which scented candle you like during pregnancy mostly by the ick in your facial expressions alone. DAMN HE'S THE BEST MAN EVER I WOULD CRY

NOOOOO MY BABIES
You can't do this to me man! I need them to be happy! (in reference to the kind stranger story)
Seriously though, good work!
-Ghost Anon
Hehe, just for you Ghost anon, I'll add a second part ;D
...
Naruto and Sakura had fallen asleep about an hour ago, apparently such a pitiful sight that the mednin had allowed them all to stay past the end of visiting hours. Or maybe the nurses were just so shocked to see Kakashi willingly in the hospital that they just forgot to kick him out.
He was staring out the window now, just watching the cycle of Konoha lighting up in the evenings, only to slowly darken again as the night crawled in. He wondered briefly at which part of Konoha Sasuke was currently sulking in. He debated going after him but-
"-shi," a weak voice followed by a weak cough startled him. He turned around instinctively, almost going to his weapons pouch out of habit.
You were awake.
Kakashi forgot how to move.
"Water," you croaked, unable to move under the weight of two genin snoozing on your already weakened body.
"Water," Kakashi repeated, hurrying to pour a cup from the jug on the nightstand. His hands were shaking and it took more concentration than it should have for him to refrain from spilling it everywhere. "Here."
He helped you sip the water, gently supporting your head up as his mind reeled. The mednin had said that gaining consciousness would be a great sign of recovery. Through the crashing relief clouding his brain, he then belatedly remembered to press the call button.
You smiled at him and, before the nurses began filling the room, gently nudged Sakura and Naruto awake.
"Mmm, five more minutes," Naruto grumbled, snuggling closer.
"No, Naruto, you need to wake up now, the nurses have to check on me," your voice was weak, but the amusement and affection was still blatantly understandable.
Sakura shot up, eyes swollen and hair wild.
"You're awake!" she said, wrapping her arms around your neck.
That seemed to be enough to wake up Naruto, who shot up, wiping the drool off his chin as he did.
"YOU'RE AWAKE!" he yelled, crashing into you and eliciting two 'oofs' from you and Sakura.
Tears and sniffling started up again, but this time Kakashi didn't find them to be nearly as uncomfortable. On one hand, because these were happy tears, and on the other, because you were there to deal with them.
"Where's Sasuke?" you asked, looking around like he might suddenly pop out of the bathroom or from under the bed.
"Teme left a few hours ago," Naruto grumbled, nuzzling into your neck with abandon.
"I think... it was too much for him. Hospitals trigger bad memories for him," Kakashi said slowly, automatically looking up at you for approval. He was rewarded with a smile that told him he had likely understood the situation correctly.
"Can you two go and find him for me?" you asked, nudging Sakura and Naruto. "I need to have the nurses check up on me now. And Kakashi, can you see if you can find anywhere still open to grab us all some food?"
Kakashi hesitated and he could see Naruto and Sakura doing the same; none of them wanted to leave you alone after what had happened. You only smiled and rolled your eyes.
"I'll be fine, but I want some privacy for my medical exams, okay, so scram, all of you. The faster you complete your tasks, the faster I'll let you back in."
That was all the encouragement Sakura and Naruto needed. They both leapt off the bed, falling a little as they went, and shot out the door, already bickering about who was going to find Sasuke first.
After they were gone, Kakashi sent you a one fingered salute, pulled open the window, and slipped out into the night, remembering to close it behind him in case you got cold. He had a feeling that convenience store food was going to be the only thing he would be able to get so late, but he really, truly didn't mind, because they'd all be eating it together.
As a team.
As a family.

Hello😄Could I request Hashirama,Tobirama,Madara,Itachi,Tsunade,Sasuke,Obito,and shisui with a darling that is a ghoul?
Holidays start in about a month for me so I'll try to schedule a day where I open my inbox again.
Tw: Yandere themes, unhealthy mindset, unhealthy relationship, possessive behavior, obsession, restriction, isolation, abduction, violence
Darling is a ghoul
Madara Uchiha
Tumblr media
🌑You've been using the corpses that the war produces as your source of food, always steal the bodies of the dead to stock somewhere. One day to your great misfortune, you get caught by the Uchiha attempting to steal one of their dead comrades and they instantly attack you as they see that you don't belong to their clan. They're merciless so you're left with little to no choice but to fight back and for a short few seconds, you manage to catch them by surprise. Your own red orbs mirroring their own eerily much and you use that distraction to try to escape. One glance into their Sharingan as they chase after you traps you into their Genjutsu though and when you regain your consciousness, you're heavily chained and kneeling on the ground. In front of you is no one else besides Madara himself who has been informed about you and your strange abilities as one of the first. Judging from his cold tone, you know that fooling around might get you executed or tortured so you don't see any other option besides revealing what you are.
🌑 Your revelation is a sensation and you're kept imprisoned inside their campus as the eldest and Madara discuss what to do with you. Some are a bit wary as you feed from humans, others see in you a great new weapon. Madara decides to see for himself what you're capable of so you're forced very soon into a fight with him where he attacks you relentlessly. You don't know any jutsu yet somehow manage to keep somewhat up as your regenerative abilities, heightened senses, faster reflexes and your kakuja aren't something he can copy. You're ultimately losing to him as your techniques are sloppy but Madara recognizes the raw potential you have. All he has to do is polish your skills and train you. So he votes to keep you and teach you and the eldest agree, the majority delighted with the thought of having someone like you as their own. The clan guarantees to feed you with the corpses of their opponents. Training with Madara is harsh as he is even more ruthless since you heal so fast.
🌑 Madara is at one point the person you spend the most time with as he teaches you ninjutsu, taijutsu, even some genjutsu and weaponry. His training is brutal but it shows major improvement with time as you're able to fight him on almost equal footing at one point. It gains you some rare compliments from him but that is how you know that he's genuine. Fighting you is a genuine joy because only few people can give him a good fight and he's proud that his training has brought you that far. However, Madara ensures that you never grow stronger than him as he needs to establish his dominance between you two. He won't let you be above him. Initially he assumes it's because he just hates to lose but as time passes on, he realizes why. He's gained feelings from you. It's that knowledge that spikes his possessive obsession up as he suddenly forbids you to interact greatly with others and you notice the heavy weight of his glare even before you see him if he catches you still being nice to someone else.
🌑The death of Izuna awakens a feeling of urgency inside of him as the loss of his last family member shatters him.  His declaration to the eldest of the clan that he chooses you as his spouse is so sudden that it flabbergasts all of them equally and their opinions are mixed. Some disagree with him as they want him to marry someone from their clan yet others don't think it's that bad after thinking about it. You're certainly strong with your unique abilities and if you can conceive children, they'd be very curious to see what abilities your and Madara's children would have. If Madara wants something, he makes sure to get it so he forces the council to accept his opinion and you find out within the next day from him what has happened. You're even more astonished by his boldness to make such a decision without your consent. Yet your protest dies down on your tongue as he grabs your chin harshly and looks at you, muttering under his breath that he won't lose anyone else. If Hashirama wants to make peace with his clan, then only if he can keep you.
Hashirama Senju
Tumblr media
🌳 He most likely sees you two as secret childhood sweethearts but unfortunately he just glorifies your memories in his mind into something much more innocent. The meeting of you two is one of pure accident as you essentially save his life, at a time before he even knows Madara. Mourning over the loss of one of his younger brothers and taking a stroll during a ferocious storm, numb to the warning words of Tobirama. He takes notice of the roaring river and the slippery and muddy shore too late as he slides into the clashing waves, loses his sense of up and down and swallows a gallon of the cold water. He's panicking as he desperately tries to puddle to the shore but fails to do so, his short life flashing in front of his eyes. Until someone suddenly grabs him and pulls him back on solid ground. Hashirama feels dizzy, coughs up water yet doesn't forget his manners as he wants to sincerely thank his savior. Yet they disappear as fast as they appeared, a blurry face and striking eyes the only memory he has of them.
🌳 It could be an Uchiha that saved him and he assumes so at first too and it isn't until he catches sight of you again that he's informed. You were apparently silently following him before he sees you, although initially he is unsure if you're the one that saved him. He has caused a lot of troubles because he kept confusing others with the person who saved him. You're honest though and tell him that you are the one who rescued him and are very flustered when he kneels down in front of you, forehead smushed against the dirt and thanking you for saving him. When he asks you if you're an Uchiha, you shake your head with a half-amused smile, stating that you don't belong to any special clan. He keeps on asking you questions but you keep dodging them, unwilling to answer. Eventually you tell him that you have to leave even if he begs you not to. The last thing you hear from him is him shouting after you and asking you to meet him here again. He wants to be friends with you.
🌳 You decide to take his offer, even though you know you shouldn't but you can't help yourself. Hashirama is infectious with his energy and cures your loneliness. He's bubbly and optimistic, something you need in your life. You never tell him about your true origins and never answer his questions about what he saw on the day you met him. You do tell him at one point that you're an orphan though and lost your parents to the war to which he offers you to take you to his clan. You decline obviously. The telltale signs of his major crush on you are what ultimately drive you away from him as you know that you could never be together with someone like him. So you never return again, breaking his heart as you need to separate yourself from him. It's alright. You've heard that he has found a new friend. You shatter Hashi's heart beyond belief as you've become his one big love and he's never able to comprehend throughout all the following years why you would just abandon him.
🌳 It's only so many years later in his adulthood that he gets all the answers to his questions when fellow men of his clan present him with the man-eating monster. A rumor that has been circulating around for a long time but now they've finally caught and imprisoned the person that stole and dishonored their fallen warriors. He doesn't know what to feel but his whole world stops and his heart drops when he sees the same eyes that saved him all those years ago. Your previously growling and sneering expression drops as you stare at him in shock before you avert your gaze, tears of shame building up behind your eyelashes. You never wanted him to know. You're used to being hated and feared so his shouts to free you from your chains as he storms over to you confuse not only you. Tears are in his own eyes, ones of happiness, as he embraces you in a tight hug. Finally he can make sense of everything. You were ashamed of yourself, weren't you? He knows that you'd never hurt someone purposely after all! Don't worry, he'll sort everything out for you!
Tobirama Senju
Tumblr media
🌊 With Konoha finally being established, the many years of waging war against the Uchiha has finally ceased. Tobirama isn't too fond of the idea of living together in peace with the Uchiha, he doesn't trust them but he has no choice but to have faith in his brother. Konohagakure earns money from the missions that the people send to the village. Tobirama oversees all of that together with his brother and takes on the more dangerous jobs together with a team he hand-picked himself, all people he trusts and knows are skilled enough. It's this one mission that manages to spike his interest as he receives a request from a smaller village in the Land of Fire. A lot of thieves and criminals reside in the village yet that isn't the reason why they request his help. It's because people have started disappearing in the village and a few witnesses are only able to tell about a human-like monster with red and black orbs, mouth covered in blood as it's strongly assumed that this thing eats humans.
🌊 The legend of the man-eating ghoul is one that he has heard only in legends as some of his own clan members insist that they've spotted the thing during times of war, dragging away corpses to feast on them. At that time he only assmued it to be a silly rumor yet as the story pops up again and the legend starts surging up again as fellow Senju members hear about it, he decides to investigate. He travels to the village, takes one Senju with him who claims to have seen the ghoul before and waits. To your misfortune Tobirama is a legendary sensory type and even if you try to be careful, you're helpless as the man approaches you and you quickly stop fighting, realizing that you wouldn't stand a chance against Tobirama, his chakra too powerful. His own red orbs meet your own black and red ones, his eyebrows furrowing as he senses the unique energy radiating off of you. You may look like a human but you aren't fooling his sensory skills. Ultimately he decides to imprison you for the time being.
🌊 You're surprisingly well behaved, he somehow expected more troubles from the rumored ghoul yet you seem to choose the wisest option of giving up for now. You won't pick a fight where even you might get into troubles. Tobirama ensures that the citizens are left in the dark, only a selected few Senju and Uchiha know about you. It's better to keep your presence hidden for now from the public. Hashirama approaches you with a mix of curiosity, fascination yet also slight caution whilst Tobirama is prepared to attack you any moment, far more stiff than his brother. You're interrogated by Tobirama and answer all of his questions with honesty that baffles him. You need to consume human flesh just like humans need to eat too or otherwise you'll starve to death. When he tries to frame you for murder, you instantly fire back that you've only eaten already dead or evil people and that he shouldn't throw such crimes at you as his entire clan has committed murder too, far more than you have.
🌊 Somehow they have to feed you as Senju and Uchiha murmur that you might be very useful to the village so they start searching for ways to feed you without having to sacrifice humans, except the criminals that is. Tobirama remains the most cautious although your physical abilities fascinate him and he volunteers to teach you when he hears that his clan wants you to learn ninjutsu. He's low-key impressed by you but rarely admits that. You're snarky yet also very quick to adapt to situations and more civilized than some people he knows. The fact that you eat people is the only thing that keeps him from being more welcoming and is the main reason why he bristles up against his growing feelings. It's petty, he's murdered too but he would never allow himself to feel that way. Hours of research are put into creating artificial food for you whilst he increases the supervision around you. He absolutely can't have you lose control and attack someone. not if it means that you might be killed or ripped away from him. He won't admit his feelings for now but he won't let you get away from him either.
Tsunade Senju
Tumblr media
🐌 Tsunade first stumbles upon you during her travels with Shizune, before she becomes the Fifth Hokage. She finds you heavily wounded and severely starved. She takes you in to care for you although her fear of blood paralyzes her so Shizune has to take care of you. You seem terrified when the two approach you, yell at them to stay away from you but it's already too late. You smell human flesh and lose control, attack both of them as your eyes turn black and red and salvia starts dripping down your chin. You're luckily overpowered as the hunger has weakened you and restricted your clear thinking, Shizune's poison numbs you and Tsunade's strength makes you lose your consciousness and you feel the relief flodding your veins that they stopped you from killing another person. What surprises you is when you regain your consciousness and find out that both of them have still taken you in and helped you with your injuries. Tsunade isn't all soft-hearted though, asking you with a hardened gaze what you are.
🐌 They're medics, they save lives so both are shaken when you confess that you're a ghoul and have to feed from humans to survive. You're too ashamed to do so, unable to kill someone so you always end up starving yourself to insanity until you can't take it anymore. You've killed too much people, nearly killed the two women too yet they still took you in and took care of you. It's all too shameful as disgust fills you and tears start shimmering in your eyes. You remind both of them that you have to leave as soon as possible or else you might hurt them again. Behind closed doors Tsunade and Shizune both have a discussion later on as both are unsure what to do. Tsunade seems a bit more merciless at first but Shizune quickly persuades her that they should help you. You can't do anything since you were born that way and helping you would also mean saving other people's lives and also your own. When both of them offer to help you, you have limited hopes.
🐌 They start working on supplying you with artificial food or at least have you survive on only little blood which both could supply to you with ease. You avoid both as good as you can to not fall into temptation and attack both of them again although you have no doubt that in your current condition, both could overpower you easily. When both of them still succeed and provide you with artificially changed blood that makes you feel full with only little amount, you feel truly happy for the first time in a long while. Just like that you become the third party to tag along, forever grateful to Lady Tsunade and Shizune as you swear to protect both of them. As you travel with both of them around the country, you start getting especially close to Tsunade. You know that under that tough shell is a hurt yet also kind woman as you soon find out about her past and in return share your own painful memories with her. Both of you bond over the past that wasn't kind to both of you.
🐌 Her feelings startle Tsunade initially when she first realizes that you've become more than a close friend to her. Not because of what you are, she'll defend you against anyone who dares to call you a monster. She's mainly scared because she's still suffering from the death of her brother and previous lover, doesn't want to lose anyone again. So the lady finds herself growing very overbearing, paranoid and worried about you excessively all of a sudden. What if people want to kill you for being a ghoul despite there being humans who are far more of a monster than you are? One of the main reasons why she rejects Jiraiya's offer at first is because she doesn't want to trust Konohagakure with you. She has heard stories about how Naruto was treated, she won't let you suffer from such hatred ever again. Ultimately it's only because of Naruto's promise to ensure your safety and your own encouragement to become the next Hokage that she agrees. If anyone even thinks about imprisoning you or performing a surgery on you to find out more about your body, she won't hesitate to seriously hurt them though.
Obito Uchiha
Tumblr media
🔥 Rumors about man-eating monsters such as ghouls have always circled around the country, even during his childhood. In the past he had an odd fascination with such stories, as a traumatized adult Obito has other things to consider than some silly bedstories to warn children to not go alone outside at night. Or are those just some ghost stories? Perhaps he has to rethink his take on ghouls when he's faced with one of them in person. One of the spies working for the Akatsuki has been suspected to betray them so he was planning to kill them. Only to see them already being dead with you devouring their flesh. When you notice him, both of you just stare at each other for a while. You quickly clean your face painted in blood and give him an eerie smile, asking him what he plans to do now as you activate your kagune, ready to attack if he tries anything. Instead Obito is very calm as he has seen worse people than a ghoul. That being said, having one under him might be very useful later on.
🔥 You don't seem to be against the idea when he proposes it to you, merely ask what you would get by joining his organization, besides free food that is as he fully allows you to devour anyone who would be on their target list. Ultimately you ask him for time to consider his offer as your current life style is very satisfying already. He reluctantly allows you to consider his offer when you volunteer to stick around the region to reassure him that you won't try to escape. Honestly speaking, you enjoy spending time around people since it's rare to meet one who isn't scared if you. To top it, you appreciate beauty when you see it and Obito's scars give him a unique and rough beauty so you often just stare at him when he tries to convince you to join his crew. You try to tease him and have him breaking out of his serious and pessimistic character and when you do manage to fluster him, you break out in an amused grin, one that makes Obito's heart somehow flutter inside his chest.
🔥 You're very unique but also very different than he first thought you to be. Sure, you're a tad bit cocky about your abilities but also very chipper, witty and teasing around him as both of you warm up around each other more and more. When he tells you one time that you are very different from your first encounter with him, you reply with a bitter-sweet smile on your face that it isn't often that you meet a human who doesn't want to chase you out or scream in terror when seeing your true self and that you want to enjoy this as much as possible. You just do what you have to do to survive after all. Those words stick with him, haunt him as he starts worrying what has happened in your past and he attempts soon to question you persistently about it and whenever you refuse, his anxiety triples. What has happened to you? As his feelings start to grow, you soon realize that you might have made a mistake by hanging around him as he grows co-dependent.
🔥 So when you try to escape him, you make the biggest mistake of your life as he uses his Sharingan to trap you inside a genjutsu and abducts you. When you come back to your senses, he's already hovering over you, the proximity between you two frightening you a bit. His emotions are spilling over as he asks you in a raised yet shaky voice why you tried to leave him and betray his trust. You can't give him an answer, his outburst of anger, sadness and confusion overwhelming you. You don't need to answer though as your silence is enough for Obito to come up with his own answer to his own question. You're just worried about his safety, worried because you never received love from another human. He's right, isn't he? Darling, you don't have to be afraid or worried. He'll provide you with as many bodies as you need so you never have to starve and he will provide you with his love. Both of you were lonely throughout your life but now you have each other. You don't need anyone besides him anymore.
Shisui Uchiha
Tumblr media
🍂 You despise humans. You've always despised humans for they killed your parents brutally and had no qualms to even harm you who was just a little child back then. You hate how pretentious they are, framing you as a cruel monster and a menace to their safety whilst they are the ones committing genocides, starting useless wars and murder more people than your entire family has ever done. They're the true monsters but of course they would never see it that way, instead thinking they are the only ones deciding the truth. You've spent years living alone, traveling from one place to another whilst hunting down people for food. A grim determination to survive for your parents the fire that fuels you til this day, even when a few Anbu are searching for you to hunt you down and possibly even kill you. You don't expect anything from their kind anymore, they're all just cowards hiding behind their excuse called justice and righteousness. Days of playing a nerve-wracking cat and mouse game finally ends when one particular member of the team catches you.
🍂 Any potential mask is hidden behind a mask of hatred and aggression as you stare at the man, his own face hidden behind a mask. You expect him to draw his katana, to use another katon on you to get rid of you yet he just observes you carefully. Another member of the Anbu eventually breaks the heavy silence, asks him why he isn't going for the kill. You aren't the only one shocked when the man, most likely the leader of the group, turns around and announces that he'll take you with him to the village. You're about to hiss at him that you won't let yourself get imprisoned when he reveals his face to you, young and handsome with red eyes staring straight into your own. Your brain turns foggy and you don't remember much after that. You only know that when you open your eyes the next time, you're in a cell with heavy chains restricting your movement. On the other side of the cell you recognize the same guy that knocked you somehow out together with an older man, his hat giving him away as the Hokage.
🍂 You refuse to be grateful to the man named Shisui for deciding to not kill you as you didn't strike him as an open threat. The clients were exaggerating things, he knew they were just terrified of the rumors that had clearly gone out of hand. He doesn't hold your angry behavior against you though as he knows already about the death of your parents, he can't blame you for having zero trust in anyone as you had to learn everything the hard way. Luckily Hiruzen thinks the same way as him and has decided to not kill you, against the will of some eldest of the council. Instead Shisui is in charge of keeping an eye on you and if you should harm anyone, he has orders to kill you. He doesn't want that so he always warns you, admits that he doesn't want to kill you since you aren't a bad person. You can only scoff, not believing a single word he says. He's just a human, you know how they are. He just wants to deceive you. You're bitter and negative, above all deeply hurt though and Shisui sees all of that. It somehow makes him want to prove to you that not all people are bad.
🍂 A small promise to himself to make you believe in some humans again. Shisui starts carefully and slowly to win your trust, being a pushover would be the worst thing he could be right now. A small quip here and there, convincing the council to give you some books or anything to not die of boredom inside your cell and slowly granting you with his help a little bit of restricted freedom. All those small seeds stretched over a couple of months slowly wear your guard down as you start listening to what he tells you and seem to look forward to his visits. You even join him in his jokes although you have a very dark and dry humor. Shisui's own feelings start changing slowly yet he hides it as he knows that he could be replaced as he might act on his emotions. The dark glare he gives someone if they suggest murdering you are instances where his true feelings reveal themselves though. A small part of him foolishly believes that he can somehow get this under control again. But the moment he actually manages to make you smile, a smile that lights up even the darkest corner of his heart, Shisui knows that he is utterly fucked.
Itachi Uchiha
Tumblr media
🍡 You've always known that you might get killed for having to feed from humans in order to live. A thought that terrified you in your childhood has now become a calm acception with which you live everyday. You think there are worse people to get killed by when you see him for the first time. Calmly standing there and observing you from a distance where you were eating moments ago from the human. There's a silence lingering over the two of you as you just observe each other yet it's weirdly peaceful. When he turnd around though, no hint given about wanting to kill you, you call after him and ask him why he hasn't killed you. He pauses, head turning slightly back as he replies that you just do what you have to do to survive. He's heard about the stories of a ghoul residing in this area but he also knows about the fact that a lot of criminals have recently been disappearing from around here, people who have murdered people. The one you're feasting on right now is one of them.
🍡 The one you later on find out is named Itachi fascinates you. You've rarely met someone so serene and calm, he didn't freak out when seeing you nor looked at you with any hatred. Deep down you wonder if you'll ever see him again and fate seems to plan exactly that as you see him often around the forest where he seems to stay for a while. He doesn't mind your business and out of respect you don't mind his either although you long to talk to him once more. Strangely enough one day where rain falls down in heavy drops from the sky, your wish gets granted when you see him just standing outside, thoughtful eyes staring into the grey sky. You're captivated by the scene in front of you for a while only to come back to your senses when black eyes meet yours and he asks you politely if you'd like to join him instead of just standing there. Slight embarrassment to get caught staring is quickly replaced with slight giddiness when you two start taking a walk through the forest together, conversing here and there about things that come to mind.
🍡 From that day on, both of you start growing very close to each other. Neither of you two is very pushy and sometimes both of you just spend your time together in silence but it seems to be something both of you don't mind. In fact there's a weird comfort in the tranquil silence surrounding you two. Slowly both of you share stories about yourselves to the other one and neither you nor Itachi judge each other for their past. You tell him how you were orphaned at a very young age and had to kill people yourself and Itachi reveals his position in the Akatsuki and after a longer time of knowing each other, even the truth about his family and how he killed all of them except his brother. It's then that you understand why he didn't kill you the first time you two met. He deemed himself not worthy to judge you for your actions when he committed something much more hideous and worse. He becomes an emotional pillar for you just as much as you become one for him. You rely on each other.
🍡 Feelings start to blossom between you two, you just know that Itachi feels the same as you. You're hesitating though, unsure if a human and a ghoul should be together, especially considering Itachi's position. Although you have a hard time believing that Itachi is a criminal and killer. That all gets shattered the day you get caught by a gang of criminals and they manage to overpower you. You're beaten up and yelled at, typical words such as monster and death threats thrown your way but you're oddly calm. As one of them walks to you, an axe in his hand as he's about to behead you, you feel a twinge of regret though as Itachi crosses your mind. You close your eyes, wait for the embrace of death yet nothing happens. In fact everything happens so fast that you barely have time to process everything before everyone around you is almost or already dead and Itachi frees you from the ropes. You feel the slight tremors of fear and rage still going through his body before accusatory eyes glare at you, asking you silently why you would accept death just like that. You want to answer but when he presses his forehead against yours, Sharingan locked with your eyes, everything fades away.
Sasuke Uchiha
Tumblr media
💙 Imagine Sasuke's surprise when he joins Orochimaru with the full conviction that the former Sanin wants him as his new body only to find out that he's one from two candidates to be bestowed with such an honor. There's someone else Orochimaru thinks would be a splendid new body for him and that someone is you. It isn't like Sasuke desperately wants to be the new vessel for the man, he has one goal and that is killing his older brother, no matter what. It's the notion that Orochimaru considers something equally powerful as his Sharingan that insults him and turns his attention fiercely to you, the one supposedly with even better skills. You're a year older than him and have been with Orochimaru for years now with him honing your abilities and skills to near perfection. You have a few screws loose yourself and fit in perfectly as you're everything but sane. You're introduced to Sasuke although you've already been informed about him and show only mild interest. Are you infuriating Sasuke on purpose?
💙 The Uchiha boy soon wants to fight with you, triggered with you brushing so easily over him. You aren't in the mood to do so yet Sasuke leaves you no choice, you realize that he'll attack you so or so. As the older person and the one more experienced with Orochimaru, you think that you should show the young boy his place. That fight serves as motivation for Sasuke forever after, a memory he will never be able to rid himself off. He doesn't know what he expects of you yet what you show him sets the base for his obsession later on. A ghoul is something he's only heard of from in horror stories and legends yet when your frightening eyes stare down on him, your wounds regenerating whilst his aren't, he realizes that in every legend is a sprinkle of truth. You leave him beaten in his room, telling him that he should respect you since he's the younger one, especially if he can't back up all his threats. For now he's nothing but a hateful boy who tries to hide his weakness behind aggressive words in your eyes. A humiliation that imprints itself deep inside his bones and heart.
💙 It's the start of Sasuke's obsessive fascination with you. As humiliated and angry as he is, he understands why Orochimaru would consider you as a potentially new vessel. You have abilities that no one could ever hope to learn or copy, your kagune and your regeneration only a few of them. Your diet doesn't bother him in the least and you don't feel ashamed for it either. After that day, Sasuke seems to follow you around like a little duckling, burning with zealousy to fight you again. Yet you refuse every time, make it clear that you'll only fight him if you deem him as worthy because as of now he clearly isn't in your eyes. Your skills are above him in almost everything as of now but you do watch him training whilst doing your own exercises with Sasuke keeping a close eye on you, analyzing him. With you in the same room as him though, he trains nonstop as he often hallucinates you watching him too. You might or you might not, you're a bit difficult for Sasuke to figure out.
💙 In a strange and twisted way he starts looking up to you so his heart is doing sommersaults when you finally signal him that you're willing to fight him again. The end result is a draw, both of you at the end of the fight on the ground with your curse marks activated. It's an improvement yet Sasuke is not satisfied. When you end up praising him for his performance, he feels strangely enough mildly better. From that day on, both of you train together as he trains you more in the arts of ninjutsu and genjutsu. Thanks to you being a ghoul, your taijutsu is already very good so you train him in that. You grow very close, only that you see Sasuke as your adorable albeit deranged junior whilst Sasuke sees you as an equal, as someone he wants to keep by his side. He's possessive and constantly tries to dominate you in order to change your view on him yet you brush it all off with an irritating yet delightful laugh. He won't lose you to Orochimaru though, he won't let you be that man's new vessel. Nor will he become his new body. After all he has to guarantee that you will never have anyone except him by your side.

“I’m sorry to do this during your break.” Sakura heads out the door with her luggage. “The conference will only take a week.”
“Don’t be.” In the cocoon of Sasuke’s arm, their toddler Sarada is asleep. More than ever, Sasuke relishes the opportunity to take some load off his wife’s back. And get to know their precious one after months of being on a mission. “Just…come back safe.”
Sakura tries to steal a quick kiss on his lips but the babe starts to stir. It’s Sasuke who closes the gap with a peck on her nose. The bloom of color on her cheeks is still fascinating to watch after all these years. “See you soon.”
She starts walking away but halts to look over her shoulder. “I forgot to tell you..she likes to squeeze.”
“As all babies do.”
Sakura seems to want to add something but she settles for a cryptic smile. “I’ll go now. Don’t miss me too much.”
‘I miss you already’, Sasuke thinks.
Sasuke realized what that smile meant as soon as Sarada demanded playtime.
It’s after dinner. He’s on the floor drinking tea while Sarada crawls on all fours. She picks the green dinosaur he asked Naruto to buy for her birthday and chews on its tail. She loses interest in ten seconds and starts to move towards him.
He silently cheers for her until she reaches his lap. A smile breaks on his face when Sarada tries to stand in her two wobbly chonky legs, but as soon as she is able, she loses her balance and holds on to —
“Aww!”
— his cheeks.
Sasuke tries to readjust but Sarada tightens her grip. He has no choice but to stop moving when he hears the first sniffles. His one arm wraps around her back and pulls her tighter to his chest. “Silly goof, you’re not falling. I got you,” he tries to tell her with his mouth bunched.
Sarada quiets down and her lips purses into a determined ‘o’. She gathers her father’s cheeks once more and squishes them together, unaware that her mother’s strength flows through her.
Inside, Sasuke is crying in pain. Yes, he is pretty conscious of his weight gain. Yes, he doesn’t care. And apparently this extra layer of cushion is Sarada’s newest fixation.
She lets go and claps her hands with a giggle.
“You’re a sadistic baby,” Sasuke says under his breath. He’s pretty sure his face is now deformed.
Sarada reaches out again and Sasuke lets her. He would do anything for her, even become her squishy toy. When he pulls her away so he can give her milk, she bites him and chews a portion of his skin.
“Uchiha Sarada!” Sasuke hisses, but like a good father he is, he lets her believe he is a chew toy.
It still hurts even with when it's mostly gum and baby teeth.
She lets go after a few seconds and giggles. Then throws her fudgy arms around Sasuke.
“Ah, you’re such an emotional manipulator.”
Sakura arrives one week later to Sasuke with red cheeks. She quickly offers him an apologetic smile.
“Please teach her how to control your strength,” her husband says in a flat tone.
“Let me heal that real quick later but where’s Sarada?”
Sasuke points to the couch where Sakura finds Iruka and Kakashi sleeping with heads on top of each other.
“I needed backup,” Sasuke sighs.
Both cheeks of their teachers are covered with pain relief patches.
Sarada, nestled between them, giggles in her sleep.

Check-In
Gai's Birthday Bingo 2023
Prompt: Mask
Words: 3,760
Character: Maito Gai, Yamato, Hatake Kakashi
Notes: Post- Chunin Exams
“A month?” Tenzo just about choked on his tea when he heard the timeline his Senpai had given him for Sasuke’s training. He’d known that Kakashi had plans to focus on his student’s training in preparation for his next chunin exam fight, but to be told that he’d be out of contact for a month seemed a little extreme. In all of the years they’d known each other he’d never known Kakashi to take even a day away from training, but now here he was telling him that he’d be taking an entire month. “What if there’s a mission? Or an attack?”
“I’ll be just outside the village,” Kakashi dismissed his questions with swift answers while stirring the minuscule remains of his tea. “If anyone needs to contact me they’ll be able to. Whether I answer or not will be determined by how important I think the issue is.”
“But-”
“There are no buts,” his Senpai continued over him. “Sasuke’s being pitted against that Gaara kid from Suna. Not only did that kid break Itachi’s record for finishing the forest of death, but he just about killed Lee in their battle. If Gai hadn’t stepped in…” his words drifted off, but the weight of what he refused to say still lingered over them.
If Gai hadn’t stepped in, Lee would have died.
Tenzo hadn’t been there to see the fights himself, but he’d heard all about them from Asuma when they met up for drinks shortly after. Every detail had been spilled over Sake, from Asuma’s disappointment over Choji and Ino’s loss’ to his surprise at Naruto’s win.
The fight that he’d talked about, though, was Rock Lee’s. Not a single detail had been spared and by the end of the night, Tenzo could feel the concern that radiated off of Asuma. He’d even expressed some fear about Shikamaru’s upcoming fight against the Suna girl, Temari, but it was nothing compared to his concern about his student facing off against Gaara.
That was the fear of a sensei who didn’t have his student going up against Gaara, though. For his Senpai, the reality was very different. Not only was Sasuke set up to face Gaara in his next match, but according to Kakashi, he was woefully unprepared.
“I have to make sure he does alright,” Kakashi whispered, his eyes focused on the swirling tea in his cup. “I put them into this exam. I need to help them survive, no matter what. Even if it means I ignore missions for a little while.”
Tenzo understood his Senpai’s concerns. Every shinobi in Konoha faced the chunin exams, but it seemed that the risks in these exams were far more than when Kakashi had anticipated. Not only was there the threat that the Gaara kid posed but there was also Orochimaru.
A sannin seeking to steal Sasuke, one of Kakashi’s precious students, and use for their own gain.
The world was stacking the odds against Kakashi and all he could do was try his best to protect his students.
“What about the others?” Tenzo asked, his mind wandering to the other two students Kakashi had taken on. Whenever he spoke of them Kakashi seemed to have nothing but praise. Although he’d been forced into the job, it seemed to Tenzo that he’d taken to it quite well.
His students were his pride and joy and he made sure to remind Tenzo of that fact every time they saw each other.
“Naruto needs to work on his chakra control,” Kakashi answered with ease. “I’ve spoken to Ebisu about training him while I’m helping Sasuke. If he can improve in that area I’m sure he’ll do well in his next match. He is Konoha’s number one unpredictable ninja, after all. No one expected him to make it this far, but here he is.”
Tenzo couldn’t help but laugh at the terrible nickname his Senpai had given Naruto. “Isn’t he going against one of Gai-san’s students? Hyuga Neji, correct?” Kakashi nodded. “I’ve heard a bit about him. Seems like he could pose a bit of a problem to Naruto.”
“He can,” Kakashi confirmed. “But there’s not much I can do for Naruto until he improves his chakra control, and Ebisu’s a better teacher in that regard than I am. Besides, as dangerous as Neji is he’s not going to kill Naruto.”
“Are you sure about that?” Another story he’d heard from Asuma was about Neji’s fight against Hyuga Hinata, and that was a story that said the exact opposite of what his Senpai was telling him.
“Neji is hard, but not that bad,” Kakashi confirmed. “He’s also Gai’s student. I trust that if things get out of hand, Gai will step in if I’m not there too.”
“True,” There was no one who knew Kakashi’s struggles better than Gai. Even Tenzo didn’t know the true extent of what his Senpai had suffered in his life, but he had learned enough over the years to know that he’d do everything in his power to protect Kakashi from more pain. There was no doubt in his mind that Gai felt the same way. “So Naruto will be trained by Ebisu and Sakura?”
“A month without training won’t kill her,” Kakashi sighed. “She’ll have to take care of her training for the time, but I’ll make it up to them all when the exams are done and everything has settled. Once I can breathe then I’ll kick into gear.”
Tenzo cringed at the saying. During his time in team Ro with Kakashi he’d come to understand that ‘Kick into gear’ really meant ‘drive them into the ground until they can’t move, and then do it again’.
Sakura was going to need the month-long break to prepare for what was coming her way.
“So a month,” he sighed, circling back to the beginning of the conversation. “That’s going to be a pretty boring month for me. Though, I guess I can focus a bit more on missions while you’re occupied.”
“Actually,” straightening up, Kakashi locked eyes with Tenzo. “I have a request.”
Gai’s apartment was easy to locate. Not only did Tenzo have the apartment number that his Senpai had written down on a small piece of paper for him, three-zero-five written in giant blocky letters so that he wouldn’t misread any of the numbers, but there was also a sign hanging on the front of the door that announced who was living there with pride.
A simple wooden sign that Tenzo recalled making himself just a few years ago for Gai’s birthday. He hadn’t known what to get for the overly energetic Jonin until his Senpai had shown him a picture of his tortoise summon that he’d snuck during one of his outings as ‘Sukea’. Now here it was, staring back at Tenzo after a year. Telling him exactly what he needed to know.
He was in the right place.
Now all he had to do was knock.
“Come on,” he lifted his right hand and took a deep breath, but nothing happened. His hand refused to move. “You can do it, Tenzo. It’s just a quick check-up. Poke your head in, make sure he’s alive and functioning, and go. That’s all. It’s easy.”
He took another deep, slow breath, but still nothing happened.
His hand just hovered there in front of the door, neither lowering nor reaching out to knock. Stuck in a limbo of inactivity that Tenzo couldn’t seem to force it out of.
“Just one knock,” he whispered, cringing when his hand refused to move. “Come on. He’s not going to hurt you.”
Gai was a good man. Stranger and perhaps a little too much for Tenzo to handle most days, but a good man. Short of harming Kakashi, which he would never think of doing, or one of his students, there was nothing Tenzo could think of that he could do to upset Gai.
Even if there was, Checking up on him certainly wasn’t on the list.
“Just go,” he insisted. “One knock and-”
Before he could finish that train of thought the door swung open and he found himself face to face with Maito Gai.
Smiley, energetic, always pleasant Maito Gai.
Except, none of those descriptors seemed to fit the man that he was staring at today. Not because Gai wasn’t trying to portray himself as the exact same person he always with, with a smile that spread across his entire face, but because that smile didn’t match at all with the tired, defeated look in his eyes.
“You look…”
“Great?” Gai cheered, though his voice sounded a little flatter than usual. “Wonderful? Ready to jump out and greet the day with the full power of my youth?”
Tenzo shook his head. “Awful.”
As soon as the word left his mouth the smile dropped off of Gai’s face and his shoulders slumped. “You’re learning from Kakashi, aren’t you?” he sighed, all of his usual energy missing from his voice. “
“I am a trained Anbu operative,” Tenzo argued, just a little insulted by the implication that he would need his Senpai to tell him what to look out for when he approached Gai. His Senpai had, of course, given him a few hints of what to keep an eye out for, but that didn’t matter. He was trained to read people’s emotions and body language. To look deeper and see all of the subtle signals that they were trying to hide from him.
“Ah,” waving off his protests, Gai leaned forward and peered down the hallway. “He’s not with you, is he?”
Tenzo could only sigh. “He’s out training Sasuke for his next match,” he assured the green-clad dork that his Senpai called ‘rival’. “That’s why I’m here.”
“To check up on me?” jutting his bottom lip out, Gai huffed. “I’m fine. I don’t need someone to pop in and make sure everything is alright. I’m not-”
He stopped himself, but Tenzo knew exactly what he wanted to say.
I’m not Kakashi.
A low blow, but a rather deserved one. In the twenty years that he’d known his Senpai one undeniable fact that Tenzo had learned was that his Senpai didn’t handle loss or disaster well. He would always put on a front, masking his emotions behind an aloof attitude, but deep down he was spiraling.
Tenzo didn’t think Gai would have the same reaction. His experiences with pain, as far as Tenzo knew, were different than Kakashi’s and his personality was almost the complete opposite.
That didn’t stop him from worrying, though. Everyone had a breaking point and although he hadn’t met any of Gai’s students, he’d heard enough about them to know just how much Gai cared about Lee.
If there was someone out there in the world whose death would cause Gai to crumble, it was either Kakashi or Lee. Kakashi because of their long-standing friendship and rivalry, and Lee because of how much Gai had come to care about him in such a short amount of time.
Tenzo wasn’t keen to find out which one it was anytime soon. The energy that Gai brought to the village was strange but comforting. The world needed more of the bright, youthful energy and less destroyed, irreparable spirits.
“I see,” shoving those thoughts to the side for the moment, he leaned to the right just enough to get a view into the room behind Gai. The layout was the same as every other Jonin apartment in the building but with a few weights laying out on the floor and a workout mat half haphazardly thrown into the corner beside Gai’s desk. On the desk, there was a bit more of a mess, with dishes piling up on the back near the wall and three books of various sizes spread open along the desk. “And what is it you’re reading about?”
“Uh, well,” glancing back over his shoulder, Gai cringed. “I was just looking up some information. It’s important to keep up to date with our knowledge.”
There it was again. That wide, toothy grin that Gai always wore on his face.
A grin that Tenzo had once viewed with caution, but which he’d come to enjoy over the years.
“Stop it.”
“Stop what?” Gai blinked, the smile dropping away for just a split second, only to return as soon as Gai realized it was gone. “Stop reading?”
“Smiling.” Tenzo huffed, hating the words that were coming out of his mouth. As much as he liked to complain about Gai’s seemingly endless amounts of energy, he had genuinely come to love his smile.
It was one of the brightest, most genuine smiles he had ever seen in his life, and whenever Gai turned it toward him he felt a strange warmth spreading in his chest. Kakashi had laughed at him the first time he talked about it and told him that everyone felt that way about Gai’s smile, but he hadn’t believed him.
Now, though, that warmth was missing. He couldn’t look at Gai’s smile and feel happy to see it because deep down he knew it was a lie. A mask that Gai was using to hide away the pain he was experiencing.
“I don’t-”
Deciding to make a daring move, Tenzo pushed past Gai into his apartment and headed straight for the desk. His goal was the pile of dishes that sat at the back of the desk, but as he reached out for them he couldn’t help but gaze down at the books.
Medical books, all turned to pages with detailed pictures of leg muscles or leg bones.
Kakashi had been right to ask him to check in on Gai.
“You’re worried,” he noted, focusing his attention back on the dishes and slowly starting to move them from the desk into a small space between his left arm and chest.. “You’re overthinking Lee’s condition and trying to make up for your lack of knowledge on the subject by studying as much as you can.”
“What are you, an interrogator?” Gai huffed.
“No,’ That line of work had been a part of Tenzo’s job once, a long time ago, but it was rare for him to take on that role in Anbu. “I’m a friend,” placing the last dish on the pile that now teetered in his arm, he maneuvered his right arm around it for a bit more support and turned toward the kitchen. “A friend who has specifically been sent by another friend to check in on you.”
“Always straight to the point,” Gai sighed as he followed Tenzo toward the kitchen, dragging his feet along the floor. “And what are you doing with my dishes?”
“Cleaning them, obviously,” coming to a stop in front of the sink, he leaned down and carefully placed the dishes down so they didn’t topple over. The last thing he wanted to do today was go shopping for a new set of dishes after destroying all of the ones Gai had. “Since you’re too focused on improving your knowledge pool someone has to make sure you’re going to be eating off of clean plates.”
“I can-” turning his head, he glared straight at Gai. “N-never mind.”
“That’s what I thought,” with that argument sufficiently killed he focused back on the daunting task he’d taken on. “Well, I’m doing the dishes maybe you can make some tea?”
“Tea?”
“Yes,” Tezno confirmed. “You do still remember what tea is, right?”
Gai sputtered, tripping over his words a few times before finally taking a deep breath. “Green tea?” His voice came out strained, but the question was quickly followed by the sound of feet shuffling and cupboards being pulled open.
“Green tea is fine,” Tenzo confirmed. Turning on the tap he watched as water flowed into the sink. The pile he’d collected was taller than anything he’d ever tackled before, but he was certain that it was a task he could finish in under ten minutes. Just enough time for Gai to make them some tea. Once the dishes were clean and the two of them were seated with their drink, then he would start asking the questions that were already swirling around in his mind.
How long has it been since you went outside?
When was the last time you got yourself some dango?
How is he doing?
Those were questions that would have to wait till later, though. Things he would ask when the two of them were sitting face to face with their hands wrapped around a warm cup of tea.
Until then, they would continue swirling around in his mind demanding an answer to the nagging concerns that came with each one of them.
“You don’t have to worry, you know,” Gai spoke as he stepped up to Tenzo’s side and held out his kettle to him. Taking the kettle, Tenzo popped it open and placed it under the tap. Once it was about halfway full he pulled it back and returned it to Gai. “I’m fine.”
“Fine,” he couldn’t help but laugh. Every moment he’d heard Kakashi say that exact line to him came rushing back to him. Bombarding him with memories of exhausted, haunted eyes staring through him as if he wasn’t even there. “Your student is in the hospital.”
“I know that.” Snatching the kettle back, Gai turned away with a huff. Instead of making his way toward the stove, though, he just stood there. His back facing Tenzo and his kettle clutched in his hand. “I know that…”
At that moment, Tenzo regretted agreeing to his Senpai’s request.
If he’d been smart he would have insisted Kakashi come instead. He would have pressured his Senpai to put off Sasuke’s training for just a few hours to check in on his friend. It was Kakashi, not Tenzo, who knew how best to support Gai.
He hadn’t, though.
Instead, he’d promised to take care of it. Assured his Senpai that he would make sure Gai was taken care of when he couldn’t be there for him. Now he was stuck with a pile of dishes higher than he’d ever seen, with no idea what to say next.
Well, there was one thing he could say. Something that he was certain he would never dare to utter in front of anyone else, even under threat of torture, but which seemed fitting in this moment.
“If it was Kakashi-Senpai, I’d be a mess.”
Gai spun round, an expression of utter horror on his face as he stared at Tenzo. “What?”
Grabbing the first dish from the pile he took a deep breath and started cleaning. “If it was Kakashi-Senpai in the hospital,” he continued. “I would be a mess. Or even Yugao, or you.”
It was difficult for him to admit, but all of his years of being trained to cut himself off from others and deny himself any emotional bonds had failed. Part of it was because of his Senpai’s insistence on friendship, which had rubbed off on him over the years, but there was also a piece of him that knew he never would have been able to succeed.
His friends were important to him. No matter how much he wanted to cut himself off from them, he couldn’t. It’s exactly the weakness that Kakashi had exploited when he found out about Tenzo’s mission to kill him, and what had led to him going against Danzo’s orders for the first time in his life.
If any of his friends were stuck in the hospital with an injury that might never be healed, he would throw himself into his work much like Kakashi always did. There wouldn’t be a pile of dishes growing on his desk or open medical textbooks, but his mental health would take a turn for the worst.
And if or when that happened, he knew two things for certain.
Kakashi would show up at his door dragging him outside for some fresh air insisting that he can’t give up, and Gai would be right behind him with that brilliant smile and promises of dango and spars to cheer him up.
“All I’m saying is…” finishing with the first bowl he placed it under the tap to wash away the leftover soap and placed it into the small drying rack beside the sink. “I get it. You don’t have to pretend to be alright for me, Gai.”
For a second the two of them just stood there. Gai holding onto his kettle full of water, and Tenzo washing dishes. The only sound that echoed in the small apartment was running water and the light clink of dishes as Tenzo added them to the drying rack.
Then, without any warning, Gai set the kettle down on the counter, threw his arms around Tenzo’s shoulders, and pulled him into a bone-crushing hug.
“Gai-” Tenzo croaked out as his bones cried out in pain. Immediately the Jonin loosened his hold, though he still kept Tenzo pinned against his body as he buried his face into his right shoulder.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered into Tenzo’s shirt. “No apologies,” placing his hand on Gai’s arm, he ignored the water dripping from his fingers. There wasn’t much for him to say at the moment. Comforting other people wasn’t something he was good at, and he wasn’t about to pretend to be.
Comfort wasn’t what Gai needed, though. Kind words wouldn’t wash away the reality of the situation his student was in. They wouldn’t rid him of the memories of Lee’s battle, or the sight of his student laying in a hospital bed lucky that he had survived but with little hope for a continued life as a shinobi.
Kind words would do nothing for Gai during this time, so Tenzo didn’t bother to try and come up with any. Instead, he simply stood there and let Gai hide his face in his shoulder while he hugged him.
‘Just be there for him,’ Kakashi had told him when he’d asked why he wanted him to go check in on his best friend. ‘He needs someone right now. Usually, I would go, but I only have a month to prepare Sasuke for this next fight. So go in my place, please.’
So, that’s what Tenzo resolved to do.
Be there for Gai.
Ask him questions, check in on his well-being, and just listen.
There was nothing he could say to make the situation better, but if Kakashi was right he wouldn’t need to. All Gai needed was company, and that was something Tenzo could provide in spades.

How are Konoha's most and least picky eaters?
The most picky are probably Ino, Tenten and Hinata. I imagine living as a princess, Hinata would be used to fairly gourmet stuff and might not have the stomach for certain "common" food. Ino would probably avoid fatty and sugary foods to avoid weight gain, and Tenten I feel would avoid more exotic foods.
Shikamaru would prefer easy to make food that doesn't involve a lot of movement. He'd probably eat a lot with Chouji, so he wouldn't have to cook often, but when he does he wants it simple and easy, even if it's not the healthiest of options.
Kiba would stick to food that he knows are good for Akamaru to eat so he doesn't feel bad for not sharing. A good combination of meat and veggies that aren't toxic for dogs, he eats relatively healthy because of it. The only time he wouldn't share is if it's something bad for Akamaru like Valentine's chocolate or something that was specially made for him... and probably because it's too salty or too spicy for Akamaru.
Neji, although a Hyuuga like Hinata, isn't exactly royalty like her, so he'd probably end up with smaller, shittier portions of food for a good lot of his life. I imagine he'd eat any food he was given, as to not be disrespectful and because he hasn't eaten very well and he knows the opportunity doesn't come up often.
Sasuke during his travels I picture being the same. He'd eat almost anything, but ration it out a lot. He'd make sure the rest of his teammates, Juugo, Karin, Suigetsu, have enough food and are full before eating himself. He'd be fairly thin because of it, and kind of why he relies on Ninjutsu more in my opinion, because he doesn't have much body strength or energy because he doesn't eat enough.
After he starts getting more money and being able to afford healthier food, I picture Naruto loving the stuff and having a hard time eating things like noodles because he had so much of it as a kid. He'd have mostly rice, vegetables and healthy selections of meats, and struggle to make himself eat ramen in most instances.
Shino has a preference for plain foods, nothing over the top with too much flavour. He doesn't like strong smelling foods, so I imagine he'd avoid things like garlic and curry that have a pretty strong smell. He'd prefer a lot of fruits and salads, but to keep up with his body's needs, he'd eat certain types of meat for iron and other necessary vitamins.
Sai I imagine has more taste for flavourful foods. Not too much, but just enough to detect the different herbs, spices and other tastes. I think he'd be quite picky with the kind of herbs and spices that are added into his food, and he most certainly wouldn't be afraid to let someone know that.
Chouji eats everything and anything food. A connoisseur of snacking. An expert on the fine arts of sweet, salty and savoury. But, I think before missions he'd eat a lot of carbs to have more energy.
I imagine Sakura and Lee do this as well, but before training and long days of work where they're constantly active as well. If it keeps them fit and running, and keeps their body healthy, they'll eat it. Salads, vegetables and meals high in protein and vitamins. Plenty of water too, but Sakura may have a cup of coffee every now and then to stay awake throughout long nights of work.
This is more of a dive into what their dietary habits look like rather than their pickiness, but it kind of works as both.

Sakura’s depressed in Boruto and nothing can change my mind
In Naruto/Boruto anime, Sakura seems like a happy person, but in Kishi’s manga (aka canon), she’s depressed.
I am also depressed so I would know. But my depression’s worst than Sakura’s (she hasn’t harmed herself yet, not that I know of anyway).
Being a single parent with a job and having a husband that's always away on "missions" doesn't help with her depression. But she did chase after Sasuke for 500+ chapters/episodes and that led her to being a single mother with depression.
Anyway, signs of depression are:
Suicidal
Feeling of sadness, hopelessness, and/or emptiness
Angry outbursts, easily angered, frustrated, irritable, even over the smallest things
Loss of interests of hobbies and/or interests
Not sleeping properly or sleeping too much or other sleeping problems
Tiredness and/or lack of energy
Weight loss/gain
Anxiety and/or restlessness
Relying on alcohol and/or drugs
Slowed thinking, speaking, and/or body movements
Mood swings
Withdrawing from close friends and/or family
Feeling of worthlessness and/or guilt
Trouble thinking, trouble concentrating and/or trouble remembering things
Fake smiling
Now, here's why Sakura's depressed (tell me if I'm wrong in some of these):
Suicidal:
There's nothing on this topic and hopefully there's never anything on this topic, because Sakura's a good female led (if only she was written better) and if she killed herself in Boruto, that would leave Sarada an "orphan" (because Sasuke is a criminal now again) and there is a wild theory going around that Sasuke was killed by Code (and without the Rinnegan, I wouldn't be surprised).
2. Feeling of sadness, hopelessness, and/or emptiness:
Tumblr media
Her introduction in Gaiden is enough said. Kishi made everyone else look normal, yet why did he make her look tired and empty? (This photo will come back in two more points)
3. Angry outbursts, easily angered, frustrated, irritable, even over the smallest things:
Tumblr media
Her child asked one fucking question and she goes and destroys the fucking house? She didn't need to go that far, did she? Over a mere question?
This pic is enough said.
4. Loss of hobbies and/or interests:
We don't really see her much to determined if she has hobbies and/or interests and whether she has lost interest in those things.
5. Not sleeping properly or sleeping too much or other sleeping problems:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shizune has confirmed that Sakura has always had a habit of fainting, meaning she could've started her depression back in the original Naruto.
6. Tiredness and/or lack of energy:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But then again, she does have a job and is a single parent, it's really no surprise she's sleep-deprived.
7. Weight loss/gain:
I haven't seen any of this other than when she was pregnant with Sarada. So she's good in this part.
8. Anxiety and/or restlessness:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They are a lot more (literally every time she appears), but there is a limit on pics you can use a post, so yea... In all of them, even the pics above, Sakura's sweating, which is a common symptom of depression.
9. Relying on alcohol and/or drugs:
Luckily, she does not rely on this like Tsunade does (pretty sure she's depressed throughout the entire series, anime and manga. I mean, you can't blame her, Kakashi & Itachi, too).
10. Slowed thinking, speaking, and/or body movements:
I have not seen any of those, she still has fast reflexes. But as the manga goes on and Sakura gets more appearances, it might show, might not.
11. Mood swings:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes, this woman suffers from real bad mood swings. She destroyed her house over a question! She went from calm, to angry, to apologetic, to calm again.
12. Withdrawing from close friends and/or family:
She has not done this, after all, she does need to raise Sarada. But Sasuke, he never shows up so we can't really determined if she has. Her parents aren't shown in Boruto (anime and manga), so we can't really determined with them either, but I'm assuming she just cut them off after marrying (which would be bitching and make the fandom go off on her so I hope she didn't do it). Her closest friends are Ino, Hinata, and Naruto (maybe Lee). We see her often going out to drink with Hinata and Ino, but rarely interacting with Naruto, but that's probably because they have their own lives and families to raise.
13. Feeling of worthlessness and/or guilt:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In some pics above, you can tell by the facial expressions that she has the feeling of guilt or sometimes worthlessness, but guilt is the one that appears the most.
14. Trouble thinking, trouble concentrating, and/or trouble remembering things:
Tumblr media
She couldn't even remember if the man she chased after for 500+ chapters wore glasses. You'd think she'd be able to remember a detail like that, after all, she's his ex-teammate, wife, and baby mama.
15. Fake smiling:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She has a lot of pics fake smiling, but there's a limit pic on a post.
I'm not saying Sai, Inojin, and Mitsuki (or anyone who fake smiles) is depressed, but I know that I fake smile when I'm depressed and Sakura fake smiles A LOT.
She is also the only Naruto female from her generation in Boruto to have wrinkles, bags under her eyes, and messing hair. Even Tsunade doesn't have those and she's 50+ in original Naruto!
Tumblr media
Just a final thing, Sarada's literally the only happy person there. I feel like if Sarada wasn't there and never existed, SasuSaku would've been divorced (as a SasuSaku shipper, it would be a bit sad).
Sarada's just happy to have her family altogether and ignoring the fact that her father looks like he just wants to be sent on another mission and enjoyed dodging family time and was forced to be back in Konoha and her mother's depressed and tired. But I would expect this from Sarada, she only cares about her well-being, and she's terrible at reading people (Boruto, Sumire and Mitsuki, for example. Sumire's supposed to be one of her best friends, yet she couldn't see that she's blinded by rage like her own dad, that Mitsuki was in trouble and needed help, and Boruto was going through more than her and just needed people by his side, yet she sticks to downgrading him for her own pleasure. Shikadai in the manga and Sumire in the anime had to tell her to cut him some slack since he's depressed. I should do one about Boruto being depressed. I'm off topic...) This is NOT a Sarada-hate post, I apologize if it sounds like it is.
But yes, Sakura's depressed and nothing will change my mind.

Don’t you think it’s weird how some Sasuke fans think he should always be full of hatred, push away the person he canonically loves and who loves him back (Naruto ofc), and how they want him to destroy himself in his odd plan for justice? I of course think he got fucked in the end, just like other characters, but to think that a forever miserable and alone Sasuke is the right answer seems strange to me. I wanted him to find justice and relief, not eternal anger, martyrdom and solitude.
Yes I agree! And your final sentence summarizes it perfectly for me. I've also gathered my thoughts on this before, most notably this one, and this one oh and here (and a few more side-related rants that work into my answer below)
To summarize, I'm always critical of naruto's actions and motives. there are valid interpretations and criticisms to what some would argue are his self-fulfilling need for external validation, but i always end up circling back to the ultimately selfless drive behind him with respect to sasuke.
Unlike readers who see sasuke as a character to project their ideals of political revolution onto, naruto sees the suffocating weight this is putting on sasuke and says "I want to carry your burdens with you"
But in complete fairness, I think many "sasuke defenders" are not actively rooting for sasuke's eternal solitude and martyrdom. Rather, they see the binary the story presents, and are forced to pick one : justice/revenge (sasuke's plan) vs forgiveness (naruto's plan).
Unfortunately, the story closes out too quickly, missing key details to make a compelling case that justice was eventually served under naruto's approach (no matter how open ended 699 was..)
And so, they are forced to contend with an ending that implies forgiveness was the end-all be-all, and no substantial change was made (ex. the fate of the elders was not mentioned, and the sitting hokage mentions a "pardoning" for sasuke, implying he stood trial held BY the perpetrators of his clan's genocide.. its all quite tone deaf)
And then, you have the atrocity that is a "sequel" which confirms that nothing systemically changed under naruto's tutelage.
Faced with this ending, it becomes easy for one to extrapolate it to re-analyze the entirety of naruto's drive as not simply childish and naïve, but rather, someone that is protecting the status quo. In this context, the "hatred" for naruto is not without grounds.
And yet, I look back upon naruto's introduction as a brash, ambitious, relentless boy that does not respect authority, and who vows as early as waves arc to "change the meaning of shinobi" believing bonds were more important than a profit-mongering military state's orders. And these sentiments of change are reiterated to neji, pein, etc.
So we come to a conundrum - which one is the real naruto? His moral compass seems to point in the correct direction, until its turned against konoha, huh...
But giving naruto the benefit of the doubt as a selfless protagonist with good intentions, but naïve approaches, there is still criticism on that front.
Overall, i often wish the story got darker and addressed its central vilian (the military-industrial complex) with a more "realistic" approach. i wish we got to see the complicated and difficult conversations, and most likely violent battles that would have ensued in challenging the established system. After all, when has a peaceful conversation (ie talknojutsu) ever been enough to sway the hearts of oppressors to gain the restructuring of powers needed to achieve this vision of peace? (realistically-speaking)
And yet, the story does not get into those details.. it simply ends off with a message of hope, connecting naruto and sasuke's relentless struggle in search for love in a world that raised them for hatred. A battle of Love and Power, applied to this "greater villian"...
It really is a beautiful message, where understanding and love prevails. And isn't that beautiful too? if i remove my clouded judgement from aging cynicism and return to my simpler childhood roots that are not interested in the ramifications of collapsing and remodeling intricate webs of powers, isn't love enough? And don't you wish it were so?

are you enjoying your break? how is the narusasuhina sim family going?
I am absolutely enjoying the break, and my NaruHinaSasu household has me so addicted it's not even funny, lol. I pretty much created the Cure For Love dynamic. Naruto is a werewolf, Hinata a witch, Sasuke a vampire, and they're a happy throuple! 🥰
They are so sweet to one another, happily married together and it's kind of scary how they behave much like their characters. Naruto is so sweet to both his spouses I can't even 🥰 he hands out kisses liberally, pingponging between one dark haired beauty to the other. It's really cute! Hinata shy a bit but she loves them both and brooding Sasuke has really opened up to them both. He's snooty to outside sims but he's really affectionate to his spouses.
Recently, Hinata just had twins 🥰 the boys were an accident 😅I often let them run around on their own and Mr. Naruto broke a condom and then Hinata started throwing up a few days later, lol. I didn't even know it happened until she started gaining weight, I thought she was just sick since I have mods that make illnesses more realistic. Girl had two werewolf babies in her belly 😂 oops. Sasuke was happy about the new babies, Naruto was shocked and iffy but got over it by the time they were born. It was an interesting time for sure.
Here's a few pics, ignore the chin hair on Naruto and Sasuke, I have a mod that creates realistic hair growth and I got so tired of shaving it off, lol. Especially Naruto! His beard grows quick, I think it's because he's a werewolf.

What if I told them? That the chubby Sasuke of Sarada's fantasies, there are Rosadas from the SS, who not only believe that this was a memory, but have even created a whole fable with it that leaves those Aesop did crazy 😂, here it goes:
The chubby Sasuke, is a canon fact, in the years that Sasuke lived with Sakura and Sarada, before leaving on his mission. Sasuke in his youth never enjoyed eating, eating was a commitment, part of his training, for his revenge he had to maintain a balanced and nutritious diet, this is not made clear by the fanbook, and then a happily married adult, Sarada's memories, as arts Officials have given us clues as Sasuke loves his wife and daughter's food, all the dedication, effort and love that is in the Saku Bentos.
They say that a man who is fully in love and happy can gain weight as a result of feeling safe, comfortable, complete, showing the great love that Sasu feels for Saku :3, these details are so full of meaning that are only found in SasuSaku what that makes them the great couple they are, and the cheese 😚😏🤭.
I didn't understand anything
It can't be real cause Sarada didn't get her glasses till long after Sasuke left and never returned to them even once during the 10+ years that happened.
Second we clearly see Sasuke isn't chubby at all, and takes his ninja life quite seriously he would never let his fitness nor lazy around enough to gain that much weight.

another snippet of ss sleeping | sasuke second pov practice
She should be the director by now, you think as you watch her weave through the corridors.
Sakura starts the day with a fresh white coat over her shoulders  and her hair smelling like peonies. She comes to you during graveyard when the feet shuffles are sparse. You pretend to sleep because you don’t know yet how to fill the silence unless you repeat apologies she only needed to hear once.
Sakura knows the pretense but she’s too tired for her own good. She settles on the chair beside the bed, a contraption that stays empty most of the day, and allows herself to nap. You fall into rhythm with her breathing, and she ends the day with her head beside your shoulder.
She offers you her couch when you’re finally discharged, and you accept. The question of whether this was proper doesn’t cross your mind until it’s lights out and you’ve memorized the way she falls asleep. You tell yourself this is temporary because you’re not a person someone keeps forever. Then there’s the bug infestation from an herb plant gone wrong a week later, and now you’re contemplating sleeping on the floor.
“There’s enough space for the both of us,” Sakura says as she pats down the other side of the double bed. The blush explodes on her cheeks, and the decision to take her words back rises to the surface.
You reply, “Okay”, before she can articulate her embarrassment.  You take your pillow and place it between the two of you. In the middle of the night, you turn to face her, but her back is against you. A sigh of relief escapes your lips—you’d catch daylight watching her dream.
There’s a time when nightmares become recognizable. There’s a hitch in her breath, and her hands clutch at her chest, grappling at something, tearing it away. You reach out your hand, and she accidentally nicks your knuckle. Her green eyes fling open right at yours, and you know exactly what she dreamt about.
Should you say sorry again? Tell her it was you but it also wasn’t you? That you’ve changed? But of this one, you’re not so sure. Instead, you don’t let go.
Sakura hangs on to your touch.
--
“We should upgrade our bed. It’s a little tight around here,” She drives home the point by snuggling closer to you.
“We just gained weight,” you jest but you’re happily tucking your chin on the crown of her head.
--
When the queen-sized bed arrives, you easily find one thing to complain about, “You’re too far.”
Sakura laughs and bridges the space in the middle. Her limbs settle in yours, and you fall into rhythm with her breathing, the sounds mingling to fill the silence with that of peace.

Y al final (ya se van) Ya se van Aunque las primeras veces se nos van
Itachi went to visit Sasuke in Konoha three months later.
'He doesn't live here...'
The eldest of the Uchiha repeated Naruto's words slowly as if they had been spoken in a foreign language he had little knowledge of.
He had sent Sasuke to Konoha to stay with Naruto and Gaara, because he knew it would do him good, as Naruto was a solid constant for his little brother. And since Sasuke now refused to use a cell phone, the news he received from the village mayor was the only way for Itachi to keep track of what the other was doing.
But the Uzumaki had failed to tell him that his brother hadn't been living under the same roof as him and his husband for at least two months.
'And where else could he live?'
'Hum…' Naruto scratched his cheek with his index finger. Gaara, next to him, was very amused, though his expression didn't reveal anything of the sort.
'He's living in your house, Itachi-san', replied the redhead.
'My house?'
Itachi noticed that he was holding the teacup loosely as he processed the information and pressed his fingers more firmly against the ceramic.
Sasuke was living in the Uchiha house.
The one in the middle of the woods that held the old family business, timber harvest.
The one that hadn't been inhabited for at least fifteen years.
The one that was in the process of changing owners by adverse possession.
The one that would be given to the new owner, because the lawsuit had been favorable to her.
The one that already had a person living there, since that person had won the lawsuit by adverse possession.
Itachi was surprised. Not surprised as he had been to receive Sasuke's call from the police station requesting his presence and services as a lawyer because he had been arrested in an anti-corruption police operation accused of tax evasion and fraud. Still, quite surprised.
'My house... The house where Hinata-san lives?'
Gaara sipped tea from his own cup not understanding exactly why the older Uchiha was having such a hard time understanding what he was being told and why Naruto looked like he wanted to disappear in smoke: Sasuke was living with Hinata in the forest house. What was the problem?
'Huh, Itachi grumbled, raising his eyebrows for a second and smiling slightly against the rim of his cup. 'It's a bit...'
'Crazy?' Naruto offered.
'Unexpected.'
Itachi returned the empty cup to the saucer on the coffee table next to the papers from the lawsuit of handing over the house to its new owner. He had come to visit Sasuke, first, and also hand over the new scripture. The house was an inheritance, yes, but the case was simple and solid: Hinata had lived in the house for more than ten years, Itachi didn't want it, Sasuke even less, having sold his part to Itachi years before when he tried to start a business, so giving it up for a token amount was all very simple.
The things revolving around Hyuuga Hinata all seemed to be very simple and easy indeed.
'Are you sure you don't want me to go with you, Itachi-san?' Naruto asked for the third time.
'No, it's okay, Naruto-kun', Itachi replied with a small smile. The day was cloudy and chilly, ideal for a walk. 'I would like to walk alone for a while.'
Naruto nodded and watched Itachi's back disappear.
The path to the old house had been paved and signposted, which was very helpful for pedestrians, and was still familiar enough for Itachi. The trees were the same, the markings on the fences, the crops, even the small altars to the spirits of the forest. Only, of course, older.
'Nii-san!'
The call, familiar and strange, made him stop in his tracks.
Sasuke hadn't called him that in years.
When he turned around, he almost didn't recognize his younger brother in the man coming towards him on an old bicycle. Physically, there was nothing different about Sasuke; he hadn't changed his haircut, he hadn't gained or lost weight, he hadn't grown a beard, he hadn't tattooed his face. He didn't even change his expression when he saw Itachi on the road, he just pedaled a few more meters, stopped the bike next to his brother and dismounted with one leg on either side of the center barrel. He didn't smile on the outside, but his eyes and his entire being vibrated with something Itachi couldn't name.
'What are you doing here, nii-san?'
'Came to see how you are doing', replied the eldest. 'Among other things.'
Sasuke dismounted the bike completely. The basket at the front was filled with returnable shopping bags. Behind, tied to the croup, a box of fruits and vegetables.
'Back from shopping?'
'Hn.'
They started walking together the rest of the way. At the top of the hill they could see the two pillars that flanked the entrance, now without a gate. They crossed in solemn silence as if they were entering a high court in a fantasy world for the first time.
'I was with Naruto and Gaara earlier. That's when they told me you weren't living with them.'
'Hn', Sasuke agreed. 'That's why you were on your way to the house.'
'That, and because I need to deliver the deed to the new owner.'
'Will Hinata be able to keep the house?'
'Hinata, is it?'
They both stopped walking at the mention of the woman's name. Sasuke was staring at Itachi and Itachi was staring back, both trying to read the feelings behind the mask of indifference they were trying to maintain.
Giving up, not because he felt he had lost something, but because it made no sense and there was no reason to hide anything from Itachi, the younger shrugged his shoulders, nodded and started walking again, pushing the old bike that went on creaking.
Itachi smiled and followed him.
'We're together', Sasuke explained as his brother placed himself beside him on the trail again. 'Hinata and me.'
'I think I got that part, little brother.'
'Why didn't you tell me that the house was occupied and almost being rendered over?'
'You had already sold your share to me and you didn't want to hear about Konoha, I didn't think you would mind.'
'You're right', Sasuke conceded and Itachi smiled a little.
'What have you been doing around here?'
'Whatever there is to do', Sasuke sounded satisfied, which was better than resigned. 'I help Hinata with the house and Naruto with city affairs. Old Sarutobi needed someone to help with the chicken coop, Ino needed help with the florist's accounting system, and there are many parents who need someone to help their kids with their homework.'
'You, taking care of children?'
'They are not my children, which makes it easier.'
The house loomed before them, decrepit on the outside, looking like a witch's house in a children's movie. Itachi stopped, but Sasuke kept walking until he noticed that the older man's footsteps had stopped.
'Nostalgic?', asked Sasuke.
'It would be impossible not to be.'
The youngest of the Uchiha nodded in agreement. He left Itachi there for a few minutes while he went to the cabin next to the house to put away his bike. He slung the bag handles over his shoulders and took the box with both hands, heading for the main entrance of the house.
'Nii-san?'
Itachi looked away from the house to focus on his brother who almost didn't look like his brother. No. He did, yes. He looked like the imaginative boy playing make-believe with Naruto in the woods; he looked like the ambitious young man who wanted more for his life; he looked like the enterprising man who wanted to be on top of the world. He looked like the brother Itachi forgot still existed inside.
'Sasuke-kun, did you remember to buy potatoes for the curry?'
The front door opened and Hinata walked out, already talking to Sasuke. The man didn't smile, but his posture relaxed. He handed one of the bags for her to inspect and Hinata smiled brightly when she spotted the potatoes. Then Itachi.
'Who is it?'
'My brother.'
'Are you not going to invite him in?'
'It's his house', Sasuke replied, but it was obvious he was teasing her. 'Or rather, it's yours now.'
'Hinata-san', Itachi took a few steps forward, greeting her with a brief bow, to which Hinata responded in kind. 'I came to deliver the new deed to you personally.'
Hinata nodded and smiled, taking a few steps to meet Itachi. He lifted the folder as if to give her the papers immediately, but the woman interrupted him.
'Stay for dinner', she invited.
'It's getting late...'
'The more reason to stay, no use going back now.'
Hinata's smile, her calm and sincere manner, was refreshing. Itachi felt relaxed and was able to understand a little better what was different about Sasuke. He knew and understood that women had no duty or responsibility to be "safe havens" and "therapists" to men, but he knew at that moment how a person like Hinata could do someone like Sasuke good.
Itachi nodded, needing no further encouragement.
'Have you eaten the curry that Sasuke-kun makes, Itachi-san?'
'Not in a long time.'
Sasuke was no longer waiting for them at the door, having gone inside to put away the groceries. Being winter, night falls fast, although there was still some time left before dinner.
'I'm glad you took the trouble to come personally, Itachi-san.' Hinata bent down to pick up the shopping bag with the potatoes she had left on the porch. 'And that you're still taking care of him.'
'You too.'
Hinata didn't answer, but shook her head once to indicate that she had heard. He entered the house and went straight to the kitchen, leaving the eldest at the entrance to look at the changes she had made to the house that had once been his childhood home. Hinata smiled to herself, because Sasuke used to do the same thing, with the same hazy look.
Itachi took a deep breath. It no longer had the oppressive smell from his memories. He heard Sasuke and Hinata's muffled voices in the kitchen talking about the dish and the ingredients, about putting away the groceries, about something they had to do the next day. Sasuke chuckled and the sound of a cork being removed from a bottle of wine brought the older man out of the trance he had been in.
Uchiha Itachi didn't live there – had not been in twenty-five years – everything was different, nothing reminded him of his childhood except the general architecture and surroundings, because inside there wasn't a single remnant of furniture or wallpaper from the past. He walked in, looking around, feeling like it was the first time.
He walked to the kitchen entrance and a warm feeling hit him as he saw Sasuke roll up his sweater sleeves to wash the potatoes and carrots and Hinata welcoming him with a glass of red wine. Uchiha Itachi didn't live there and he felt at home.

I wanna take you to a gay bar
Daniele had a plan to seduce Dawud again. Similarly to that time he brought him to a gay bath house, he would this time bring him to a gay bar in Newcrest. So, he did it the following Friday. However, just like the previous time, Ralf ended up being there. Cause you see, while Daniele wanted to be alone with Dawud in order to rebuild the friendship, Dawud wasn’t ready to do that yet, so he brought Ralf as a sort of buffer zone between them.
Daniele: What is he doing here? Ralf: Well Dawud invited me and I said yes. I am not leaving San Myshuno until Monday afternoon so I pretty much have nothing better to do. Dawud: What, you constantly call him a dilf, aren’t you happy to see him? Ralf: He calls me a what?? Dawud: Uh well, you see...a dilf is- Ralf: N-No I know what that is. I was shocked that he calls me that. Daniele: ANYWAY! Let’s go!!
The men walked towards the bar. While Dawud and Ralf were chatting about their week together, Daniele stayed a bit behind. Not to be a bitch or anything, but Ralf was kinda...in the way of his plan.
Ralf: I am so excited. I haven’t gone clubbing in at least 15 years, and gay clubbing specifically pretty much since before I got married more than 20 years ago. I even put on my slutty underwear to celebrate the occasion and I never wear them these days. Dawud: Aren’t you here for work? Why would you have your “slutty underwear” with you in the first place especially if you rarely wear them?? Ralf: Well, you never know when the occasion for slutty underwear will arise. I haven’t worn them in several years and they’ve gotten too small but it’s ok cause that means more of my asscheeks are exposed now. Gain weight, get sluttier. Daniele: As we all know, fat men are the sluttiest of them all. Dawud: Ah yes, me, the guy who had sex a grand total of four time, with the same person, more than two years ago. Daniele: I mean, you also sucked Rudi in a fucking public park. Like I don’t care if it was at night like what the fuck dude. Dawud: THEY TOLD YOU??? Ralf: Who’s Rudi? Daniele: Transgender werewolf Dawud gave head to in a goddamn park. Ralf: Yeah yeah I did that too he’s not special...I mean, I too once gave head, had sex in a park, had sex with a werewolf and had sex with a trans lady, all on four separate occasion, but technically I did it too...I mean, I think your Rudi is a lady I don’t know you said sucked but normally Rudi is a boy name but I don’t know. Could be a guy who had his surgery...I also banged a trans guy anyway. Daniele: I mean they’re nonbinary actually and their full name is Rudder but I thought saying transgender werewolf was funnier. Dawud: Oh so you’re the slut actually. Daniele: Me? Dawud: I was obviously answering to Ralf. Ralf: Never tried to pretend otherwise. But I’m very fateful to my wife now, I’m just going to this club to get shitface and have fun with my friends.
Dawud and Ralf kept walking, while Daniele remained a bit behind. He wasn’t mad per se, but like...kinda ruining his plan. At least by virtue of being behind him he could, well, look at his behind. Truly a fantastic view, emphasis on ass, he was gonna stare at it disrespectfully...No he had to stay focus. He’s doing this for Dawud, not the middle aged married father.
Ralf: But yeah I really should go back to the gym, haven’t been able to go since I injured my shoulder there three months ago. I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older or something, but it took forever to heal, and now that I’m fine my schedule is too busy. Hopefully soon, hopefully. Dawud: We’ve arrived!  Daniele: Are they playing Everytime we touch? I didn’t know that song was known in the US. I’ve literally haven’t heard it since moving here. Dawud: That’s because you never cried to a video of Naruto in love with Sasuke while in middle school. Ralf: My son used to love this song. Sang it all the time in the car and I would sing with him and he’d get mad and embarrassed. It’s a shame, he had such a beautiful voice and he wanted to be a singer... Daniele: The fuck why are you saying it like that? Did he died or something?  Ralf: ...Yes... Daniele: Oh! Oh my god! I’m so sorry I-I was saying it as a joke...But how like if he’s your son he couldn’t have been that old? Dawud: Dan! You can’t ask that! Daniele: Why?
All of a sudden, Daniele saw Ralf face turn to sadness, like one deep enough that even he could notice it. Oh shit, he really touched a sensitive nerve with that. Fuuuuck. Well, time to enter the bar, they were here to have fun, and he didn’t want to be responsible for ruining it for everyone, especially since it was his idea.
Ok, Daniele had accidentally brought back painful memory to someone. Surely his evening couldn’t get any worse, right?

hey, I saw your tags on my post, and I was wondering if you'd be willing to share your thoughts on jewish shisui? he's such a minor character in the manga, and it might be because i haven't read it in a while, but i remember him being a very minor character and can't recall what he did, specifically, that makes me think of a jewish reading. i'd love to hear what you think!
hello! i have been thinking about this ask since i got it and think i have sufficient thoughts to share now!
i'm a little bit insane and have made up a lot of details of shisui's character and his potential arc if he hadn't been killed. i'm really interested in thinking about how he may have fared if he had survived his encounter with danzo and he, too, had been spared from the massacre by itachi.
i imagine it would have been suffocating and isolating, especially because shisui being alive would throw a massive wrench in the narrative the leaf was trying to tell about the massacre being caused by itachi's insatiable search for more power. because they always sorta throw in that itachi killed his best friend for his powerful eyes, but if shisui is alive and knows it wasn't itachi who attacked him but rather danzo, that is a problem for the leaf. so i see him as socially isolated, because of the grief and immense loss but also because danzo and the higher-ups in the leaf have threatened him into silence about what really happened to his eyes, lest he rouse suspicion that they don't know the whole truth about the massacre.
so, all of this is to say i've been thinking a lot about shisui's situation if he were to live. his silence, his oppression, the tight weight on his spirit, and they remind me of concept of mizrayim from the passover seder. the leaf becomes, for shisui, a place where he is constricted, bound and unfree. it is his literal narrow place, where he must walk a careful, thin line, because he is being told to keep quiet. he is oppressed by grief and threatened by the powers that be in the village. and, he is forced to carry on his duty as a shinobi for a place that is no longer home, that has discarded him and his clan. he, along with sasuke, has become a stranger in a strange land that once, long ago, they had been respected partners in its construction.
that too, about the village's founding in parnership with the uchiha to the growing suspicion of them as they gained power that made the leaf uneasy, makes me think of these lines from exodus, which come after the story of joseph (a respected prophet who could interpret dreams) and set the context for the story of passover:
then a new king, who did not know Joseph, came to power in egypt. "look," he said to his people, "the israelites have become too numerous and too powerful for us. come, let us deal shrewdly with them, or they will increase even more; and if a war breaks out, they may join our enemies, fight against us, and leave the country."
i hope this makes some sense! i wrote a short exploration of these feelings using the symbols of oppression, liberation, and the passover seder here, if you're interested!
