another one of my topics of the day: What The Heck Is Up With Hera/Juno, Leo, and Jason

Hera/Juno claimed Leo and Jason as her “champions,” but also specifically those two are the only ones of the 7 (who are all, collectively, champions of Olympus) who Hera/Juno had any direct involvement in them being raised, to a degree. Jason in that Hera/Juno is very literally, technically, his mother, since he was given to her as a gift by Jupiter. (There is also some indication his abilities of flight via controlling winds is actually due to Hera/Juno rather than being a Jupiter power, particularly given Thalia seems unable to do that, which would track since Hera/Juno is goddess of the skies/heavens whereas Zeus/Jupiter tends to lean a bit more towards authority/law/storms specifically). While we don’t get any indication she was directly involved in how Jason was raised at Camp Jupiter (or by Lupa), she is his mother.

Leo, on the other hand, was partially very directly raised by Hera/Juno, with her acting as a nanny of sorts (and who he refers to as his aunt). (She also tried to slow-roast him to immortality that one time, but that’s a topic for another post.) However, because of how Hera/Juno refers to Jason as a champion of hers rather than referring to him as her son more directly, if she refers to Leo the same way and was significantly more involved in his raising than Jason’s, does... that make Leo and Jason brothers through Hera/Juno? Because the implication seems to be that Hera/Juno semi-adopted Leo. And she is Jason’s mother. If not brothers, since Leo refers to Hera/Juno as his aunt that may then make him and Jason adoptive cousins? Which is weirder than the normal godly parent family tree nonsense because in this cause Hera/Juno is very involved and actually is, by demigod rules, not biologically related to either of them and neither Leo nor Jason are related to each other either.
