Kai : super-duper-spicy-hot chicken wings ! and before you come in and tell me "that's not holiday food" i'll have you know, his favorite holiday is the Superbowl, mkay ?

Cole : mashed potatoes. lotsa butter, garlic and herbs. he'll use an entire bag o' taters to make a gargantuan batch, and then shovel the whole thing in his big ole mouth using a big ole serving spoon. it's true, i saw him do it.

Lloyd : that little fuckshit likes bread sandwich, because it reminds him of his family (someone beat him up please). white bread cut horizontally for Zane, sopping wet canned asparagus for Nya (wet.. water powers... it makes sense okay shut up), egg salad for Jay (because she hasn't realised she's a girl yet), cheap ham for Kai (you know why), and the thick layer of cheese whizz covering everything represents the warm protective embrace of Cole. the overwhelming horror that grasps one's soul when in the vicinity of this recipe reminds him of his dad :)

Zane : he doesn't eat, however he enjoys the technical challenge that is the making of the tripple-stuffed turnek. turkney. turkey. it's turnek stuffed with chicken stuffed with a surprise :) (the surprise is salmonella you fuckshit)

Jay : idk. probably likes. uhh. girl idk. yeh that's right she likes to eat girl. boss. girlboss.

Nya : she likes potato candy, because that's all her brother knew how to make when she was a kid (he sucks at cooking), so it's super nostalgic for her

Pixal : she doesn't eat, and she's sick and tired of that fucking tripple-stuffed turknek giving everyone toilet-blowing disease. she attempts to destroy the tunkney every year, and fails each time. one year she turned the oven to 1000 degrees to burn it, but turns out it contained cake, not turken. Cole cried. another year she threw it in the trash, but Zane found it and served it anyway. he has no concept of Health and Safety Regulations. this year she's thinking of dropping a piano on it. or mayhaps an anvil

Christmas Steve Charcuterie Board

Christmas Adam is tomorrow, but I started celebrating today :P

It's very unlike me to make one of these without olives, but I had a lot of fruit from the fruitcake I made that I needed to use up, and I thought this would be a great way to do that.

I also committed a cardinal cheeseboard sin and used 2 cheeses with roughly the same texture, both bloomy rind (though at different stages of ripeness). Call me a textural simpleton if you like, I love bloomy rind :P

But Starch, you may be asking, why haven't you posted your fruitcake?

Ehehehe... I may have forgotten to take a picture before wrapping it up. Hopefully I'll take pictures before it is consumed, at least, on Christmas proper.
