Okay listen, I love Ahsoka. Okay? I love her.
I know there's no way she could have stayed on Coruscant after Order 66. But the fact that it's Rex and Echo and Riyo working together to save the clones and she's just out there laying low, out of contact, done with the fighting, etc...it just seems so out of character to me. Hell, Trace and Raffa have contributed more at this point!
Ahsoka, who wouldn't even kill the clones who were actively hunting her (on three separate occasions). Ahsoka, who risked everything to save Rex's life. Ahsoka, who always had a closer relationship to the boys than any other Jedi. Ahsoka, who had told Rex that he was her best friend...just ups and leaves and eventually "loses contact" with him for years and then sends Kanan and co. with a loose lead and a tactical droid to find him?
I know she was traumatized by what happened with the Jedi. I know she was burned out. And I've read some good fanfiction that did a better job of explaining this than anything in the novel or the show. But honestly, I'm still just so perplexed that it happened at all.
She should have stayed in contact with Rex. She should have been helping with the effort to rescue Wolffe and the men, even if she couldn't be on Coruscant. She should have been using the Force to help locate and remove their chips, as she did with Rex. She should have been helping them find places to lay low so they wouldn't get caught. She had so many things to say about how the Jedi and the government were failing the citizens of the Republic, but when those men - her brothers in arms for almost 4 years - needed her most, she did nothing.
When Rex told Echo that "good help was hard to come by" and Echo hung his head and decided to leave his brothers and sister to go where he was needed, I just couldn't help but think that she should have been a part of that too. Fives gave his life to try and free the clones from their inhibitor chips. Echo is continuing the work his brother died for. Ahsoka only knew to save Rex at all because of two words: "Find Fives". She got off that ship alive because of Rex. But when Rex needed her most, for a mission of his own choosing, she wasn't there.
Hear me on this, I'm not hating on her character. I just felt that this particular writing choice for her was way off base. The Ahsoka I know wouldn't have abandoned her brothers, especially after she had just buried so many of them wearing *her* face on their helmets because she meant the world to them.

Why are so many people acting as if that’s it??
I’m like 90% sure they’re building up for another season? They wouldn’t just leave it like that?
And there ain’t no way Ezras just gonna leave Sabine out there, he’s gonna either convince Hera to go with him or go alone to bring her home safe.
Like hear me out. They see each other again. Ezra is back where he spent the last ten years. Sabine is pleased but also a little confused.
S: ‘I sent you home! Why did you come back?’
E: ‘Its not home if you’re not there’
Give me some cheesy ass shit filoni we deserve it.

Hayden Christensen - The first time - 2
Tumblr media
let’s pretend that i didnt already start writing this for a separate story before i decided to just add it in for a part 2 please and thank you! Here’s part 1 if you haven’t read it and my masterlist for more!
word count: 1998
You had landed a part in Star Wars after years of auditioning for any possible role. You had struck mainstream fame after a horror movie you did for Rob Zombie. They had introduced an interesting character, they wanted to give Darth Vader a devotee, of course after Padme he never loved again but they wanted to show how exactly he dealt with it immediately after her passing. The audition was a scene in which said devotee breaks after pining for his approval the entire series.
“I have given you everything I am, I betrayed everything I ever knew, and I have done everything you ever asked! Just once I want you to see me, all I do, all I am is for you… Anakin.” Your voice sounded empty, defeated, broken and angry. Unrequited love in the worst case scenario possible, falling in love with a widowed sith lord. The story outside all the theatrics however was quite the opposite.
“Chosen one, how’s your morning old man?” You taunted in a merry voice, the taller blond man just shook his head. A smirk resting on his lips as he scoffed at the weak attempt of a joke.
“You aren’t too far behind me lady,” he dropped his bag onto the blue mat next to yours. Soon Hayden towered over you awaiting the inevitable comeback, something you’d grown accustomed to during training.
“Twelve years is enough for me to give you shit big papi,” you shoved his torso once you felt your neck stiffening at the uncomfortable angle it required to look at him.
“Well I thought you two weren’t supposed to get along,” Dave Filoni, you swear you could spend hours thanking this man for his work in the Star Wars universe, afterall he did create your character.
“Dave!”
“Hayden!”
They briefly shook hands, clearly having a deep respect and adoration for each other as long time coworkers and friends. Behind Dave however was this redhead, she was older than you but still younger than Hayden. She was the trainer's assistant who very much liked to try and correct Hayden, despite him having more experience than most of us. It wouldn’t have struck a chord with you, it shouldn’t have, but when she placed her hands around his arms to adjust his ‘lightsaber’ it angered you deeply. Luckily for you she seemed to be in quite the chipper mood, “Fan- fucking -tastic,” you thought while watching her drool over him.
“-And then we’ll get started on your final battle, sound good?” Dave looked between you and Hayden, a nod coming from you both before he walked away; being replaced by the main trainer, Harry.
“Morning, Milord, lover girl, Jess.” His voice was relaxed as always, he was a gentle man despite the skills he had taught us. He could cheer you up and stop you from being discouraged one moment and then completely body slam you the next. You were forever grateful he was the trainer, because if it was that snotty bitch Jessica, you’d never catch a break. He liked to refer to us using names related to our characters to ‘get us in the headspace’ you just thought it was cute.
“Morning puff, how was the commute this morning?” You teased since he always complained about traffic, but today he gave you a knowing look. Puff was the nickname you gave him, his hair was insanely fluffy and long it also was a very light blonde.
“Well I’ll have you know it was better today, I hope that’s how your choreography goes as well since we’re gonna start breaking down your final battle today.” He grabbed a pole before swiftly turning to us, a test he’d do every now and then to see if we could spring into action. Of course, being the teacher’s pet I’d met his ‘blade’ first.
“Ah my lover girl, always quick on her feet,” his praise made you smile while he stood down, returning to his previous spot.
“She still needs to keep her legs braced properly, her stance is weak,” Jessica spat while she walked over to Harry, twirling her pole in hand cockily. To be fair she’d won many matches against you, but as of recently you had the winning streak.
“Now Jess-”
“Wanna give it a go, see how weak my stance really is?” You proposed, walking out to the middle of the mat, leaving Hayden to stand lonesome in the corner. He loved your drive, your constant need to prove yourself against that wretched woman. Not many people fancied her, it wasn’t hard to understand why, Hayden was not one of those people.
“Any day, any time, you know I’m always ready,” she quickly met you in the middle, poised for action, awaiting your first strike.
“Are you?” You had been working on this rendition of Hayden’s move, it was your personal touch to the character. It was the famous ‘Obi-Ani’ however when the saber went behind your back the blade would be downturned. From there it would switch hands, strike once it was brought forth, then switched back to your right hand. That was exactly how you started, she hadn’t been able to combat it and in the fictional universe her hand would be severed. In the real world, you hit her wrist very hard, you hoped to see the bruise later on.
“Impressive! I didn’t know you had finally polished that move, I think it will do well in the choreo.” Harry quickly declared before getting in between you two. Hayden also approached you, his hand turned your shoulder to face him.
“What even was that?” He sounded impressed, almost childlike especially with the smile that accompanied the question.
“I took your move, and I made it my own master,” you said cockily with a shit eating smile. Harry’s praise made you smile, but Hayden’s interest made you jump for joy.
*.·:·.✧ ✦ ✧.·:·.*
It had been a few hours now, you had gone through 4 out of 10 parts of the battle and you were starting to get frustrated. The lightsaber part had never been an issue, but the footwork on your part was intense. It had to be because by now Anakin was Darth Vader his mobility was nothing like the prequels. To keep Hayden stiff they had pads on his arms and knees to limit the movement. On top of that there was a lot of dialogue throughout the beginning, so you kept circling each other, anticipating each other's next moves.
“Again, let's slow it back dow-“
“No. Let’s do it again, I just need to keep doing this until I get it.” It wasn’t a backflip or some mind blowing parkour, however the transition from running, to sliding, up to your knees; and then trying not to fall back while Hayden pushed down on you with his saber wasn’t easy.
“Do you want me to ease up?” God sometimes you just wanted to hit him with the pole when he tried to water it down for you. He came from a good place but amidst your frustration, and Jessica’s relentless corrections you were losing control.
“No, just start again at 3”
“Okay, on your line”
And with a heavy sigh you repeated the last line of your spiel. “Just once I want you to see me, all I do, all I am is for you… Anakin.” Your voice was harsh, it was unmissable so as Hayden began his attack, you deflected with more force than normal. Your jaw was clenched and your fists tight. Your eyes were set on Hayden, it was like you were doing the scene for the actual take, hell it was like you were actually living this scenario.
“Anakin is no more, I killed hi-“
“Liar!”
You stepped forward going back into the confrontation, your sabers clashing louder than before. Grunts leaving your throat as you push your tired body to perfection, until you catch sight of Jessica. Her glare stuck on you as if you killed her favorite person, it just made you fume. The next part is when you cut off Vader’s left hand and while normally you let Hayden put his hand down, you hit the back of his hand. Finally it had clicked that you weren’t okay, something was bothering you and he had a pretty good idea why. However he remained silent and followed through with the scene.
“All this time, did you think I might fall in love with you? Your pride consumes you, padawan.”
“And your grief consumes you.” You said through clenched teeth, this was where you had to jump off a blue block they’d set up. As you jumped down, you rolled onto your knees before running at Hayden, and to avoid his saber you slid beneath it. Once you turned to face him, you hurriedly got onto one knee finally making it on time before your sabers clashed. He pushed down on you and you could feel your shoe slip against the slick fabric of the mats. You were fed up with this plastic always fucking this part up so you pushed back with all your upper body strength.
Not your best moment.
Hayden fell back as you stood up and this finally calmed you down from your mood. You breathed heavily while you walked over to help him back up, twirling your saber mindlessly. You looked down at the blonde, holding your hand out wordlessly in embarrassment.
“Sorry, I just-“
“Let’s take a break, and talk about this.” Hayden interjected before hurriedly ushering you to the parking lot. There was nothing to say, it was childish of you to act out, it was embarrassing, you couldn't begin to process the emotions pooling in your stomach. He unlocked his car and opened the door for you without hesitation, he was scarily calm as you got in the passenger seat. It didn’t take long for him to get into the driver’s seat, long strides equaled less steps. Once he was seated the silence continued for a moment, you wouldn’t dare meet his gaze.
“Jessica is a hard person to be around, I’m sure you’ve had a few instances like that in the workplace. Y/N you are giving her what she wants when you get angry, people like that thrive off your misery.” Hayden Christensen, he had to be God’s favorite, he was so nice and understanding. A gentle giant trying to reason with a short psycho, perfect.
“It disappoints you as much as it does me-“
“I’m not disappointed in you, if anything I’m proud… surprised even.”
“Surprised?”
“Yeah, Harry assumed you would’ve chewed her head off by now. You saved me 20 bucks”
“So what I’m hearing is you think I could win in a fight.” The mood was lighter now, you both sported bright smiles while the banter continued.
“I wouldn’t have put money on you if I didn’t think you would,” he was being sincere and you knew by the way he spoke so effortlessly.
“Might not be for much longer, it’s like she gets worse everyday- that or my tolerance is getting shorter.” This time your tone sounded defeated, sure you’ve dealt with more stressful things in life, but it seemed as though you had no more patience left. Hayden quickly took note of this and used the leverage of you being a Star Wars nerd to cheer you up.
“Have faith love, everything will soon be set right… I’ve been told she’ll be transferred to a different project anyway. Someplace far far away from us,” His voice dwindled to a hushed volume, it was soothing.
“That would bring peace to the entire city.” He laughed at your brutal joke before changing the subject.
“So do you think we can go in there and try to play nice?” The question lingered for a moment before you reluctantly answered him.
“I don’t make promises.”
“But?”
“But… I will try.”
“Atta girl.”

I heavily headcanon that Sabine suffers from insomnia and don't have a doubt in my mind that there were likely several nights she spent not wanting to sleep because of dreams/nightmares/memories of Ezra disappearing, Kanan's death, the loss of her family, her home on Knownst and Mandalor, etc. 🥲 (Filoni, sir, please, I beg you, give my girl a break and some therapy 🥺).
So, I made this as a thought-idea of Ezra and Sabine sharing his bed in his Noti-home after being reunited and spent time talking and sharing what they have been up to. Eventually, Ezra sleeps, but Sabine likely takes some time— with a multitude of different things going through her mind,,,
However, most prominent is just the fear that if she sleeps, Ezra won't be there when she wakes and everything that has happened has just a cruel dream :(
BUT! The best man's will not allow that >:( He also holds her and does a Keldebe kiss in reassurance ;;w;; ah they give me such,,,, Peeta/Katniss vibes and it hurts even more feeling this parallel I have created;;0;;
Hope y’all enjoy 😊🙌🏼 they are mis meow meows and am so grateful for the kindness of this community 🧡💜💙

It's a shame that the multi-media franchise of star wars have twisted the original narrative of the Jedi. I really love the sequel trilogy, I love season 7 of TCW, and Dave Filoni is amazing storyteller. But over the years, it's gotten to the point where the Jedi are being criticized to such a degree that now some people believe the Jedi should've changed their entire belief system. It's great to criticize the Jedi. They are flawed and not perfect. But now because they are now being framed negatively over the past 2-3 years and so now, some justify their genocide, disrespect their belief system, and believe Anakin was a poor victim who got caught up in everything. Lucasfilm or any writer is to blame for this, but I think people need to look a little more deeper into the media literacy behind star wars, and consider the fact that a child is going to love the Jedi despite their flaws and will be sad when they see them get killed. Because star wars is made for children who can look up to the Jedi as role models.
All of this.
I frankly don't know what else to add, @thecenturyofmusic said it all.
I also think there's an argument to be made for shifting global values.
I don't know about how it was in the U.S. specifically, but I don't remember there being as much of an emphasis on mental health back in the early 2000s as there is today.
Back then, I remember many fans sorta getting the core story but hating it, which resulted in a lot of them just bashing the Prequels.
Nowadays, a spin has been put on the Prequels wherein Anakin is the poster boy for the mental illness, he's just a victim:
he grew up a slave which gave him severe PTSD,
then was ripped away from the arms of his mother by
an elite order of emotionless monks whose emotionally-repressing teachings are the perfect representation of toxic masculinity and force you to never get emotionally attached,
who berated and rejected him at every turn,
he also doesn't have a father figure except for the Chancellor, who grooms him and isolates him,
and instead of supporting him in his hour of need, the Jedi hurt Anakin psychologically to a degree where at some point he just loses it and kills them all, because as far as he's concerned they were evil to him.
And... yeah. It can be interpreted that way. It resonates more to people when seen that way.
But it wasn't meant to be seen that way.
If it was, then we'd have seen very different Prequels.
Watto would have physically abused Anakin left and right like he's DiCaprio in Django: Unchained, instead of joking around about humans with him.
Shmi would've been on the ground crying, holding Anakin's leg and screaming "please no give me back my babyyyy!!!"
Literally every shot of the Jedi emoting, screaming, chuckling, being worried would be absent and they'd all speak with a monotonous voice, including Yoda, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan.
If we were supposed to feel like Anakin is in the right and the Jedi are in the wrong then we'd be shown an Anakin who isn't petulant, arrogant and overly emotional. We'd see a normal person who gets berated by a group of unfeeling old men.
Anakin wouldn't call Obi-Wan his father twice (which is admittedly a nuanced situation because while Anakin may see Obi-Wan as a father, Obi-Wan sees Anakin as a little brother so hey).
We'd see Anakin explicitly state that he's afraid of his wife dying, maybe carrying her unconscious body to the temple steps begging for help only for someone to reject him at the door because "it goes against protocol" and that's when Palpatine swoops in.
Y'know, more explicit, emotion-eliciting stuff?
But we didn't see any of that. Because it wasn't about any of that. If it was, then it goes about delivering its message in the weakest way possible.
While nowadays, the popular take is that Anakin's downfall is the fault of everyone around him, the intended take was that Anakin's fall was his own fault. Anakin is a victim of his own flaws.
The Prequels weren't meant to show you what happens when you keep pushing a mentally unstable person, they were about cautioning children about not giving in to their own fear and greed.
"How does a good kid become a bad man?" He let his inner demons - fear, anger, greed - get the better of him.
And that's not necessarily a take most people agree with these days, but that takes us back to how much importance you actually give to GL's original vision.

"Jacen has abilities. His father, Kanan Jarrus, was a Jedi." - Huyang (to Captain Carson Teva)
Happy Sunday!
My goodness, I had meant to post this sooner! I'm been so busy with work, life, and Halloween costumes, that I've been neglecting my social media accounts! I actually drew this three weeks ago.
So...when Kanan was name dropped in episode 5, I got total chills and misty eyed. Kanan Jarrus is one of my all-time favourite Star Wars characters and I <3 him so much. I absolutely LOVE how Rebels Season 5....er, I mean...Ashoka, shows the mother and son relationship of Hera and Jacen. I had thought, "Awwwww, Jacen is like his daddy!" And how he wears the pauldron like his father. So sad that Kanan never got to see his son. (Darn it, Rebels season 4! Whhhhhyyyyy?) Of course I had to draw Hera and Jacen, and since I am a mother to a son, it makes it extra special to me. Hera must be so proud of her son no matter what, but the fact that Jacen used his Force abilities to find Ahsoka is just awesome.
Ahoska went by so fast, didn't it? I absolutely loved the series (with episode 5 being the best, making me emotional, teary-eyed, and giving me goosebumps so many times). I can't wait until the next season. So much goodness!
✨️I hope everybody likes this! Please share! It always means the world to me when somebody loves my artwork enough to share it. And as always, please let me know if you also draw Star Wars fan art (as well as Dragon Age, Naruto, and Minecraft).✨️
This was drawn with Sakura Pigma Micron pens, then coloured in with a mix of Copic Markers and Ohuhu Markers. White accents done with a gel pen. I had no idea what to do for a background (I'm rubbish with backgrounds, honestly), so I used a watercolour brush in Photoshop Elements & part of an Adobe stock watercolour image. I made the "stars" with the Dodge tool. So once again, a mix of traditional & digital! I actually used to use watercolours a very long time ago. I should start using them again for backgrounds, instead of "cheating" with Photoshop.

TBB SEASON 3 EP 9 THOUGHTS & FEELINGS!!!!! | spoilers below ✨
• UHM OKAY CAN WE JUST GET A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR ALL OF US THAT KNEW FENNEC WAS TALKING TO VENTRESS LAST EPISODE 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
• Okay, hear me out: It’s totally possible Omega has a high M-count and could be Force-sensitive. But also, could it be possible that she may not have a high enough M-count to be trained yet her M-count doesn’t degrade since she isn’t aging at an accelerated pace? It could be that for whatever reason the clones’ M-counts degrade over time because their ages are accelerated, genetic degradation due to when they were conceived, what batch number they were, Jango Fett’s DNA degradation, etc? This also begs the question that normal Force-sensitive beings’ M-counts might possibly degrade as they age but not enough to alter their connections/abilities to tap into the Force, especially if they’ve been trained. Idk, it’s definitely possible for Omega to be Force-sensitive but we will just have to see.
•Asajj Ventress, you dropped this 👑
• Her fight sequence with Crosshair had me wishing I was her so bad.
• Crosshair being so brotherly and protective is still 100000/10. “You did.” Implying he was heavily against not intervening in Omega’s tests w/ Ventress but he let her go do it anyway because he loves and trusts his sister.
• TECH MENTIONED AGAIN I—PLEASE BRING HIM BACK I SWEAR FILONI I AIN’T PLAYIN AROUND.
• Wrecker this episode was so 🥹🥹. Him trying to cheer up Omega by telling her they should go eat was so cute.
• I adore Omega’s ability to see the best in people. She doesn’t immediately cast people off because of their pasts and that’s a quality I think many people lack today. We saw Crosshair tell her she’s being naive in an effort to protect her but I don’t think she is being naive. I think she genuinely sees the better part of people and will always be willing to give someone a chance.
• I am once again asking, WHERE TF IS ECHO. Ik he’s with Rex but PLEASE bring our boy back. I’m so tired of the family not being all together.
• DID ANYONE ELSE NOTICE THAT WE DID NOT SEE CROSSHAIR’S HAND TREMBLE AT ALL THIS EPISODE??? Like not once did we see him shake out his hand or scowl at it. He was steady as hell when he was shooting at Ventress!! His meditation sessions with Omega must be helping 💜💜💜💜
• Crosshair skipping down the Marauder’s steps to help Omega into the ship, adorable. AND THEN EXTENDING HIS HAND TO VENTRESS AFTER NOT WANTING TO TRUST HER. This is such wonderful character development. I think Omega has definitely rubbed off on Crosshair a bit. He’s trying to give people a chance, just like Omega did with him. 🥹🥹🥹
• I really do love that the Batch doesn’t want to let Omega go, esp Hunter and Crosshair. Hunter went months without knowing if she was okay, let alone even alive when she was on Tantiss. Obviously she and Crosshair have such an unbreakable bond at this point that ofc he doesn’t want to let her go either.
• It would be so cool if she is, in fact, Force-sensitive and that she goes off to be trained by Ventress or someone else in order to protect her brothers. But tbh it’s not the best ending the show could have imo. It would be so bittersweet but I also think fall kind of flat for Omega’s character if that were the ending of the entire show. A huge part of me just wants them to all stay together and live happily ever after. Ik it’s Star Wars and we probably won’t get that but still, it’s nice to dream that it could happen.
• And lastly
Tumblr media
I will be thinking about this for the rest of the week.

honestly doctor who! ahsoka having her own companion is very galaxy brain. i actually have some other suggestions for ahsoka time travel companions:
1) sabine
(she just becomes increasingly smug as the mission goes on and ahsoka keeps failing, then increasingly frustrated because she realizes that she is stuck with ahsoka. i do think she would shoot anakin or palpatine in at least a couple of the timelines.)
2) bo katan
(bo katan spends most of the time fighting with ahsoka and obsessively trying to obtain the darksaber. this backfires when anakin begins to suspect bo katan of being the secret sith lord. ahsoka and bo katan are forced to fake a relationship in order to get him off their back at one point. they accidentally become jedi-mandalorian married in at least one timeline before a humiliated ahsoka resets the timeline anyway. now bo katan is uoset because their fake marriage isn’t real anymore and brings it up saltily at least once every reset.)
3) kaeden
(no coherent thoughts just kaesoka 😔)
4) mace
(at first he is shook because of how truly degenerate some of the timelines get, but also he manages to kill palpatine in at least one of them and he’s pretty pleased with himself. other than that, i feel like he would take a “we should stay and fix the damage we’ve inflicted” approach as opposed to ahsoka’s “hit the reset button now” mindset. he would also pick up at least one hobby along the way, like idk crocheting or fishing)
5) yoda
(ahsoka spends most of the time miserably trekking around with a little green gremlin in her swagpack, aka swag backpack. he keeps giving her cryptic advice on how to deal with the situation until she realizes the best action is inaction. by the end, they decide to sit on the beach and just eat sandwiches together while they watch anakin throw a tantrum over the sand while obi wan sighs because he just wanted to try out surfing)
6) luke
(this is actually the canon backstory for how ahsoka and luke met. dave filoni just didn’t tell us because he didn’t think it was important enough to mention.)
7) count dooku
(this one doesn’t really have any explanation, i just thought it would be funny. bonus points because count dooku approves of obi wan but fucking hates anakin and so this is basically his personal hell. he nearly tries to kill ahsoka at one point, thinking that he will be freed, only to realize he’ll be stuck in the timeline with anakin and obi-wan forever. thus causing him to rescue her and hit reset. while ahsoka tries to matchmake anakin and obi wan, count dooku is constantly trying to break them up. at one point anakin accuses him of being homophobic and obi wan attends a support group for lgbt adults whose parents won’t accept their marriage and count dooku gets offended because he is NOT homophobic, he is just a hater. if anakin and obi wan have 1 opp, it’s count dooku. if anakin and obi wan have 1 million opps, it’s count dooku + an army of 999,999 droids. if anakin and obi wan have 0 opps, count dooku is dead. etc etc)
Note: I would put also R2 or Chopper as candidates but they don’t really seem like good companions to me on account of them being aggressively Dalek-coded.
i think all of these work in different ways and you have put it together so beautifully - i think it makes so much sense!
in my mind since none of this is really happening, ahsoka's companion could definitely change every so often as the Force pairs her with different people in an attempt to show her a different lesson....it's not actually the person but an aspect of their personality that could help ahsoka heal and maybe even appreciate the love obi-wan and anakin share
(except dooku. dooku wasn't supposed to be there and it's his actual force ghost. he's just such a strong hater that the force could literally not keep him out of this liminal space)

Can we please just fire Dave Filoni and Kathleen Kennedy now. I'm so tired of Padme and Naboo erasure. Both of them are important to Star Wars! And I hate the foreshadowing of the ST. The ST should've never happened at all. Screw JJ Abrams and Rian whatever his last name is.
ANYWAYS, the Jedi Order is reborn, and Luke is guiding the new Jedi. The New Republic has formed, and the galaxy is recovering from years of darkness from the Empire. What are sequels again? Idk. Sequels don't exist. I just see a new golden era in the galaxy.
If you're wondering, anon is responding to this post
Part I - Dave Filoni I will say Dave Filoni under the direction of George Lucas gave us amazing stuff-- Ahsoka Tano, Rex, Fives, Echo, Jesse, expansion of Order 66, the Clone Wars themselves. But him on his own? Not so great.
Ahsoka's walkabout in s7 was boring, the two sisters had potential but blundered in the execution. The BadBatch arc in s7 featured super amazing Anakin, and I did like the whole 'rescue Echo' plot line, but the Bad Batch as a TV show… I have some criticisms of it.
I like the ' what happens to the Clones after the Empire forms? They've served their purpose-- are they still relevant?' story line. It would be a great one to explore with normal clones. In fact, following Cody around, a clone who did participate in Order 66 and had his mind taken over, would've been a novel experience.
Instead we get genetically enhanced clones who don't have programing chips cause they're special snowflakes and don't partake in Order 66 bc they're special. Getting to see their side of Order 66 really brought nothing-- it's the same as the Jedi. Why are the clones turning against the Jedi? No one knows! It's rinse and repeat watered down version of ROTS, and i'd much prefer watching that movie over the first two episodes of TBB.
I will also give credit-- Dave Filoni and Favereau gave me The Mandalorian. A side character who doesn't know he's the main character just trying to make his way in the larger GFFA. He's a normal guy with a job. Then new dad has to deal with his adopted kid having Wizard powers. ME Likey. It's similar to Andor in down to earth, not life and death, Jedi/Sith fate of the Galaxy type of thing. It's what normal life would've been like in GFFA.
Third season and some of second season haven't felt like that though. Din keeps meeting all these famous people that are tied of in the 'Fate of the Galaxy' --Bo Katan, Ahsoka, Boba Fett, Cad Bane, Luke fucking Skywalker-- instead of more normal people. I do appreciate the smallness of season 1-- we had Peli, and Omera, and Karga. Characters not known to the larger galaxy, but still important in their own right.
Part II- Female Characters
Star Wars has never appreciated or loved it's female characters with the exception of Princess Leia. Original Trilogy follows Luke-- male character, who with the help of an older male character, goes and finds another male character pilot to help them infiltrate a small moon space ship full of male characters.
There are exactly TWO female speaking characters in A New Hope and one gets kriffed off to 'enhance male pain'.
Now, by nature of the story, Padme Amidala get shafted before she was even ever named or created -- Luke was raised by his aunt and uncle so something must have happened to his mother. She is 'unknown mother' defined only relationship with her son and then later to her husband.
It's not until the Phantom Menace when she gets her own storyline, that is little to non effected by her relationship to Anakin. She's a queen who has someone invade her planet, and with the help of two Jedi and the Gungan People, saves the day.
Anakin helps of course, by first winning them enough credits to get off tattooine, and second by blowing up the control ship, but both situations could be solved without Anakin. He becomes the unnecessary character-- his introducution is so low-key you don't realize the story is about him until Revenge of the Sith. He's a supporting side character in both Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones.
Both prequel movies that don't feature Anakin as protagonist or antagonist are hated by a large majority of SW fans, and usually because of the crime of not being perfect. Jar Jar Binks is just as annoying as C-3PO imo, but because the protagonist of TPM is Padme Amidala, the movie is hated, as opposed to ANH which features Luke.
Padme's fate was written before she even had a chance to exist, and therefore has no agency. I've seen others label her as weak, pointless, lame, because she dies of a broken heart, 'oh why didn't she live for her children' SHE DIDN'T HAVE A CHOICE OKAY. George had already killed her by then, she can't live for her children when the author has decided otherwise. The nature of a prequel is it must narratively co-exist with the story already told. Padme must die or be removed from the picture so that Luke can be raised by his Aunt and Uncle. Anakin must fall to the Dark-Side so that he can be Darth Vader and do a heel-face turn at the end of ROTJ. the end has already been written. The beginning must fall in line.
Getting back on topic. Fathers are mentioned in The Mandalorian- which makes sense since it's about a Father and his Son. oh wait that's seems that's what Star Wars is about. Prequels were Anakin picking which father-figure he wanted to follow. Luke saving his Father. Din Djarin adopting a son with magic powers.
But Bo-Katan mentions her father TWICE and her sister doesn't even get a mention. Even though Bo was there at Satine's death, and the reason Bo left death watch and stood up to Maul. When Satine died, Mandalore split and fractured and any attempt of restoring mandalore just resulted in more fracturing and shattering.
In Obi-Wan Kenobi not mentioning Padme was criminal. The whole reason Anakin fell was to save her. Her daughter and son were featured prominently and her name didn't come up once besides two vague mentions.
SW needs to treat it's female characters better. Right now Leia is still the only one that's almost universally loved by the fans. Even Bo Katan has issues. By not acknowledging her past and mistakes and death watch , instead of making her a stronger character, the writers have made her weak. Making mistakes and learning from them and growing from them are what causes her to be relatable. So far, Mando S3 has been rushing her redemption process. They're having her reunite Mandalore, but she hasn't atoned or made up for her failings in the past.
It was her involvement in Death Watch that lead to her sisters death, and the writers essentially ignoring that and trying to hide it is lazy and the antithesis to character growth.
Part III - Disney's Anti- Prequel campaign.
The sequel trilogy… is problematic. While trying to emulate and give us the 'star wars' feeling again, all the films did was undermine the finale of the original trilogy.
What was Darth Vader's return to the light for if we're just going to bring back Palpatine? What was the point of Luke's rejection of the darkside and declaring himself a Jedi in the face of evil itself, if we're just going to have him become a hermit on a planet because he gave up? What was the point of the Alliance to Restore the Republic if we're just going to blow it up because it's corrupt?
The problem with trying to avoid the prequel trilogy is the sequel trilogy just became the prequel trilogy. Hear me out.
We have a corrupt Republic that is destroyed by an Empire. A Jedi student falls to the Dark Side and serves the Empire. A desert dwelling person with magical powers is told that they are the key to saving the galaxy. Am i talking about the Prequel Trilogy or the Sequel Trilogy?
The difference is the prequel trilogy was planned. From start to finish, no half baked retconning or switching directions (both original and sequel trilogies suffered from this) George Lucas had the entire prequels laid out. Their largest crime I believe is in writing/dialogue-- not the plot. It's complicated-- how does a republic turn into an empire? How does a Jedi Knight become a sith? How does the Jedi Order become extinct? Through War and Careful Planning. So while the prequels are not perfect, their world building brought much needed light and explanation to the Original Trilogy. It answered questions, but the answers were not what everyone liked.
They wanted the Republic to be conquered by an outside Empire, not for it to be one and the same. Fans wanted Anakin to be strong and heroic, and not a man who is crippled by self-doubt and his greatest failure is his greatest strength- his breath and depth of love.
The sequel trilogy should've been the struggle of not repeating the same mistakes. Of avoiding the past not repeating it. Of Luke not giving up and not becoming Obi-Wan. Of Han not becoming Qui-Gon Jinn or Ben Skywalker not becoming Darth Vader. Or Rey being her own self and not being Luke 2.0 aka finding out that her grandfather is evil just like Luke found out that his father was evil.
Star Wars is was the first to suffer from Disney's new nostalgia machine where live action play by play of beloved animated movies are created without souls; and sequels that are just the same story retold with the next generation. 'Happily Ever After The End' no longer exists, the hope of a happy ending destroyed with the next sequel announcement. Where does it end Disney? When you've wrung the last love and enjoyment out of your original titles? When consumers no longer go to the movies to see your new Frankenstein movie? When catering Fan Service is no longer profitable?
Disney's addiction to sequels and reboots found it's first home in Star Wars Sequel Trilogy and continues in the rest of the Star Wars universe. What is Boba Fett if not a sequel to Mandalorian? What is Ahsoka if not a sequel to Rebels? What is Obi-Wan Kenobi if not a sequel to the Prequel Trilogy? What is Andor if not a prequel to Rogue one?
The Mandalorian didn't start out that way. Was it in the same universe? yes and so by nature it makes it a sequel. But there were new original characters and an original story. Now it's become a sequel and a prequel; the connecting link instead of a stand alone.
So yes anon, Padme and Satine deserve better. But you know what? We deserve better too.

Man, the CHILLS I got when not only Mandalore/Gideon, but Leia Organa, was name dropped this episode. It hit me like a bolt of lightening how much Ahsoka is tying in everything…like EVERYTHING. Holy shit, Dave Filoni is a mother freaking genius. He really gonna tie in every SW franchise like that? That smoothly? That subtly? I give up—I know everyone is saying it, but PLEASE just surrender everything over to this man! I’m loving the direction SW is heading and I can’t wait to see it all come together in the future. We are so lucky to be witnessing this right now! 🖤

filoni owes reparations for the way he wrote sabine. girl is really supposed to be in her 30s and she acts like that? wtf?
i mean i understand your frustration and i've seen tons of arguments exactly like this that i more or less agree with, but i also don't really mind her behavior?? like i understand, she's 30, she's supposed to be more mature etc etc but also- she's 30. have yall met 30 year olds? they're not that much different. sure they're older and more "mature" but they can still act young (because they are) and brash and wild n all of that.
i've seen many people in their thirties and older twenties feeling really seen with how sabine is written. they appreciate how sabine still acts young, how she's still in the past (which i do think ties into a bigger theme of how sabine can't let go of her attachments), because often times 30 year olds are exactly that. growing up is hard yk, so staying in the past and not moving on is totally valid, especially when you take into consideration how traumatized sabine is. she has no family left, she's alone on lothal, she thinks everyone has abandoned her. i assume she acts "the same" to spite ahsoka (who abandoned her before), because we all know that ahsoka does not approve of how sabine still acts.
but what i do see is a lot of hypocrisy when it comes to comparing ahsoka and sabine's behavior because a lot of people complain about how ahsoka isn't "the same" and that she's not fun anymore and that she's bland, which i'll admit she does seem to be like that, but i assume she was written that way on purpose, at least before she met anakin in the world between worlds and realized she wanted "to live". she returned and now she seems much brighter and she smiles more and all of that. a lot of people were trying to justify ahsoka's "bland" behavior by saying "oh well she's older now and she's so much more mature and it's normal for her to not be as childish as she once was" and etc etc and i do understand that 14 years old is DRASTICALLY different than 50 years old but it's also a bit hypocritical for the same people to think it's fine for sabine to act the same way she used to and justify how ahsoka's wise behavior is perfectly reasonable as well. yk?
as for my opinion, i think they're written fine. i think it's sad how ahsoka doesn't seem to be as open as before, but ofc, ahsoka is a traumatized little fella so. yk. but i do appreciate how much more lighter and how much more she smiles after she came back from the world between worlds. it really shows how much anakin's "lesson" helped her. as for sabine, i think it's refreshing to see someone like her still act young, though i wish she would just think things through and TRY to understand what ahsoka is trying to make her see. sabine does still have an issue with attachments, but ofc, she's also a traumatized little fella so can we really blame her?
anon your argument is very valid and i understand your frustration, and i don't really want to give filoni any credit with his writing, so i am inclined to agree with you, but only to an extent. it's also a really muddy topic that many people from different walks of life can argue for. we can analyze all the different reasons why sabine would act this way, but do we have a say in how a traumatized young woman acts?? idk.
anyone can feel free to agree or disagree with me, just please be respectful and i'd love to see what other people's opinions and perspectives are.

I come with every intention of writing and spoilers: this requires a lot of text but, sorry… it's an interesting read.
I've seen a lot of people complain about SW and their way of doing things; I've seen people complain about The Mandalorian and say; At what point did it become children's content?
Well, as I tell you, since season 1 this content has always turned out to be family content.
Now the people who say this; It is because it is alienated that SW does not vary; when practically the SW material is pure fantasy and there is material for everyone, of all colors and flavors. The Mandalorian cannot be pigeonholed solely into violence; friend, then you have not understood anything about this universe.
See Star Wars and everything Geroge, Filoni and Jon have been working on with a whole creative team, etc, etc. is to enter that world to which they took you "the never ending story", "the labyrinth", "Dragon Heart", "Merlin" and I can continue… magical worlds, where hope resides everywhere, where love It is an important point because despite not being able to see it, it becomes part of this environment and expresses itself in mysterious ways (yes, like strength). That is why pigeonholing SW solely in violence is taking away a vital part of its narrative, it is as if the conflicts in its different aspects were not shown; or wanting to remove something very substantial that although species from other worlds are shown; They have something that unites them with everything. "The feelings, the emotions, the humanity that exists in these aspects"
Friend, believe me, when you only get stuck in violence and don't want to look at something else; The problem is you and maybe SW is not the content you need. And hey; I'm not saying that you have to accept everything, but definitely criticizing just to criticize, hating just to hate is ridiculous and pathetic. Taking SW or the Mandalorian as entertainment after a difficult day is not bad at all. But now you want to take this as a personal vent, project yourself, harass and be an infernal hater, sorry but that's disgusting.
And believe me; That violence that you ask for so much is desensitizing you, it makes you someone who loses the notion of how you can harm others and there are people like me; who lives in violent countries, where your life is at stake every 5 minutes, that the only thing we want is to stop experiencing this violence and live fantasy and hope. So stop messing around, okay.
At the end of the day your requests are like: "You want a good development for Din Djarin, but you don't want him to associate with anyone, you want to pigeonhole him into a life in the countryside with a secondary character, You want him to continue in a dangerous profession that "no It leaves nothing good for him or his green boy, you complain about everything and it doesn't seem like anything to you.” Please; It's very obvious that you didn't watch the series and don't understand Din's development. stop fucking around.
Tumblr media
A few days ago I was watching episode 3 and I'm going to say this; Anakin is a great character, he is a villain through and through, but all this grew like a snowball. They lost Anakin and he was already lost, Palpatine knew how to play his pieces. In the entire world of SW it is difficult to pigeonhole the characters because; The decisions are the ones that weigh the most. All SW characters have an Anakin within them, they all carry a complex and a mourning of their being; a good being or a bad being. Doing what is right or wrong is a struggle of ethics and morals.
Anakin was an enslaved child and grew up with this complex, remaining a slave due to his attachments until his death. Their actions do not have to be justified, but they do need to be understood and exposed. At the end of the day in this universe Who has not stained their hands with mud or blood to fight for something? Who hasn't had to ignore innocent people to preserve an idea or a fight? Who hasn't had to give in to the bad orders of others to save their people?
When I see people judging Bo Katan, for example; for being a terrorist in her past or for her wrong actions and them using this as a reason for Din not to be around her; I say to you.. How low and dirty do they have to be to use a person's past, in this case a character, and judge them and not allow them to redeem themselves?
Si Din let Bo Katan redeem himself this season 3 Who do you think you are to not allow it?
It hurts me a lot to see Anakin get lost and to see that here they showed us what love is. but they also show us "it's the right person at the wrong time"
Padme could fight hard but her own worries and Anakin's attitudes were driving them apart.
Tumblr media
When Anakin is tempted to turn to the dark side to gain power and knowledge, he gives in to his attachment to Padme, his fear, and gives in to the temptation. And for example in the mandalorian from season 1 We can see how temptation tried to envelop Din Djarin so that he would leave the creed.
Tumblr media
Many people believe that this scene with Omera was "romantic" which it was not so; This series was representative of that TEMPTATION that Din could have fallen into. It's a symbolic scene of how Din was able to abandon the creed, stop being a Mandalorian, settle down and live in a remote place. EVEN when he mentions to Omera that his main goal was to honor Mandalorian culture, which saved him from the droids. SHE tries to take off his helmet if he allows it, invasively, as a temptation. THE CLEAR THING was that he NEVER fell into temptation.
Din clearly tells him "I don't belong here."
Because many say “I wanted a quiet life with her.” I say; Since he did not agree to stay and preferred the creed and remain Mandalorian, develop his character, surround himself with other people, adopt Grogu and recover his planet together with Bo Katan, I tell you HE preferred a Mandalorian life and his lifestyle and culture may be anything but "a quiet lifestyle."
Tumblr media
Now when they say "Bo katan is a liar, a villain" it's because they didn't understand any point I mentioned. All SW characters have had to make difficult decisions, Bo Katan has been more oriented towards being an Anti-hero. And I don't justify her but it is understood and her points of view are expressed, about why she acted that way.
Since season 2 he could have killed or betrayed Din and taken his saber, in season 3 he had all the time and opportunities to do so. AND IT NEVER HAPPENS…
And it is more than clear that she had a very peculiar interest in him, that she protected him in some way.
Always saving him, even in chapter Plazir 15, she saves him from the separatist droids just when he shows rejection towards politicians. A clear nod to the fact that she does not fall for opulence or power, she simply wants to right her wrongs and bring glory to Mandalore, so that her people have their home.
Saying that Bo Katan "didn't redeem himself because he didn't do anything" Sorry, but living with a tormented conscience, with memory and constant regret. This season 3 Brendan Wayne himself says it in a podcast where he is a guest: "Din wanted to get Bo Katan out of that depression of that cloudy cloud of thoughts and knock her out with his own feelings, it was like he was talking to my wife"
I uploaded that interview and you can find it on my wall, I don't lie like SCREENRANT, they love to lie.
Tumblr media
I don't want to go into more detail but I'm going to close this post with this.
Let's assume Din and Bo don't want anything romantic, okay. then at least allow them to be comrades in arms; It doesn't take anything away from them, on the contrary it gives them both a lot. Both Din with his own qualities can support Bo and vice versa. So why separate them if in the end, they are just friends?
And if it turns out that there are feelings and love between the two IT ALSO doesn't take anything away from them and yes, it contributes to them.
Star Wars is a galactic opera and I repeat; Taking away love just because you are a bitter person is taking away one of its main foundations.
The Mandalorians would be another very peculiar, interesting and unique perspective on love, if they let this union flow. Because it wouldn't be the typical cliché
We would see Din and Bo fighting together, sharing moments, weapons, tactics, in the middle of a battle, a show of affection, a hug, something very human, holding hands, fighting together, sharing plans, exchanging ideas and even A Keldabe kiss..
I and many see potential, at least in this shipment there is a lot of material to refute this couple; and I'm completely in the group that wants to keep them together.
This is the way.

Ahsoka s1ep7
That guy be like: false Jedi? Witches?? Space whales??? In my star wars?¿?¿? Unheard of.
Respectfully, please stop wasting precious time from these last two eps on this new republic nonsense 😭
Omg please let it be an audio recording of Leia saying "fuck off" in pg way
Do you think Carrie Fisher would've been on this show as a cameo if she could? Would've loved to see her say fuck off (in a pg way)
You can tell Ahsoka hasn't put these recordings on in forever...the little bow?
She be healing 🥺
I also like the tone Ahsoka used in "he was a great master" cause you get the sense that she mourns for him.
Idk I think that's a neat way of her moving forward regarding her feelings on Anakin/Vader (though I still wish they acknowledged it more in ep 5 but I'm still chewing on my thoughts on that whole episode)
Ahsoka really out there pretending she doesn't give a shit if they're in the wrong galaxy lmaooo such a troll, I love her
NO ARE THEY SHOOTING THE WHALES?!?!
NO STOP NOOOOOO
IF I SEE A WHALE DIE I WILL CRY I LOVE WHALES SO MUCH
The relief I felt when they all jumped thank god
Poor Morgan, she's so aware of the nonsense the good guys get away with when defeating their foes but she comes off so paranoid in universe. Doomed by knowledge of star wars' silly narrative quirks 😔
"Put her on a path of her own choosing so that no matter what direction she takes, we'll always be one step ahead of her"
That makes no sense
Just cause Thrawn says it and it's briliantly acted does not mean that was sound logic 💀
Huyang is me, I too find it bs that they sensed Ahsoka coming for their asses via space whale
Love how Ahsoka and Thrawn are out here playing 3D chess while Sabine and Ezra are just vibing in these big pods lmao
"The emperor died" "that's what people say"
Ahaha don't remind me of that, I will start biting
Omg Sabine being so offended and Ezra being so confused has me in stictches haha
Same bro, wish they showed us how exactly that happened
Fellars, when she says "it's complicated" she means "I saw my master get murdered before my very eyes and disregarded the last thing she said to me all in a desperate move to find you"
WTF WAS THAT SHOT TO THE SCARY WITCH RIGHT AFTER AHSOKA IS LIKE "I SEE HER" 💀💀
Sabine upon seeing Shin and Baylan: "NYO" 😡
Baylan, tf do you mean Shin's path leads her in a different direction?!?! All I've gathered from the 5 lines of dialogue she was allowed is that she wants to be on top, secure.
She did not seem too keen on joining the witches and sees the Empire as a means to an end. What's stopping her from just outright joining the new republic if you leave her on her own?! Seemingly the only thing stopping her was her connection to you and your teachings, ya dingus.
I like this show, but this makes no sense for the characters they've set up, why wouldn't he take her with him so they can both wield the ancient superweapon?? 🙃
Wait. The raiders in this whole different galaxy shoot normal ass blasterfire?¿?¿?
Come on, that's so boring
(They do look cool if not like normal star wars bounty hunter types)
Huyang is such a little shit, honestly his banter with Ahsoka has been one of the highlights of this show for me. Especially now that Ahsoka seems to have regained some of her original snark spark
DEAD ASS
Ahsoka dropping out of that ship RIGHT where Baylan is, IS THE FUNNIEST SHIT 😭
He really be like "huh, was sure I killed you 🤔"
"The Force is my ally, it's all I need" very Jedi of him, Kanan would be so proud
That shot of the hermit alien headbutting a raider with a pot is my fav thing ever
Yooooooo, seeing the saber actually lose some of its form when being pushed back with the force was sick
That piano 👌
Did Huyang just know Ahsoka was in trouble and instinctively thought "guess I'll shoot flares at her" 💀
Ahsoka is riding a space wolf, Filoni can finally rest
Sabine getting flipped was such a funny shot
Fight choreo go weeeeeeeee
Ok this guy really embodies Ezra well, this is EXACTLY how he would bs his way outta this pickle lmao
Props to Shin, if I saw Ahsoka barreling in like that smirking like a real psycho I'd have noped the fucke outta there instantly
Did Ahsoka just kick a hand that was swinging a lightsaber at her?!?!?
Truely deranged behaviour, pop off queen 😌
Why did Thrawn have a whole ass ppt prepared 😂
Ah yes, time, the thing I feel like this whole show did not know how to spend correctly
I can feel this season ending on a cliffhanger, I don't even know if a second season was announced beforehand but ain't no way all of this is concluding satisfyingly in one more ep
Ahsoka seeing Shin looking like a wet stray cat and going pspspsps is so her
Not Ahsoka being 110% aware she must be immortal or smth and using that knowledge for trolling 😂💀
That was such a good hug omg
And the laugh?!? I dont think she's laughed since rebels 🥺😭

My thoughts on the new Ahsoka trailer that just dropped a few days ago:
Tumblr media
Interesting, looks like it’s a race to find Thrawn. Maybe this is what the cast meant when they said the show could go on for another season?
Tumblr media
“We are no Jedi.” Makes me think that we might actually get a pro-Jedi arc instead of Filoni’s Gray Jedi agenda? Or is that too hopeful?
Tumblr media
Hera looks good! As expected, Mary Elizabeth Winstead is killing it and fits right into the character. Y’all are just haters
Tumblr media
The green eye contacts are a bit 👁️👄👁️ though Kinda reminds me of the Miley Cyrus blue eyes meme
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hilariously enough, Hera’s lekku look way better than Ahsoka’s. Not her getting eaten up in her own show
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hera and Ahsoka interaction, 10/10. +++
Tumblr media
Ahsoka looks a bit more like herself without the cloak covering her shoulders (sorry, I can’t recognize Ahsoka unless the guns are out).
Tumblr media
I can kinda see what the actress is going for, and she does fit the vibes of battle-hardened Rebels Ahsoka. Still sorta wish they recast her with Laura Harrier though
Tumblr media
ANAKIN mention had me going feral... please, Hayden Christensen, be in here for longer than five seconds...
Tumblr media
“Just like I walked away from Sabine” WOW JUST STAB ME IN THE HEART WHY DON’T YOU
Tumblr media
SABINE IS SO HOT AUGHSKMS I AM SO GAY
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“You never made things easy for me…Master” GHFKSKSMKDKD??? CASUAL LORE DROP??? Does this mean we are getting Jedi Sabine?
Tumblr media
Thrawn looks a lot better than I was expecting him to be in live action, thank god. Whoever decided to give him eyebrows? You are my savior.
Tumblr media
SABINE CUT HER HAIR AGAIN AKSMXMDMDD I AM GAYER NOW
Tumblr media
The evil guy namedropped Anakin personally? Okay… interesting, would like to find out how they know each other
Tumblr media
Overall, super excited to see what the show will bring. Huge improvement in the Montrals prosthetics, and looking forward to see a women-centric Star Wars show. I'm calling it, everyone is gonna be Team Hera/Soka by the end of this.

I enjoyed the first two episodes of Ahsoka but I'm not totally convinced by the show yet. Some spoilery thoughts:
There was no hint of Sabine having Force sensitivity or Jedi abilities in Rebels so I find it disorienting that she's suddenly a Padawan. (Or not a Padawan?? An abandoned Padawan? A failed Padawan? Feels like climbing some stairs and missing about five steps)
LOTH CAT LOTH CAT I WOULD LIKE A LOTH CAT PLEASE
I am on my knees begging Dave Filoni/god/whoever is listening: no more maps. Please. Please. I can't take it anymore. I can't make sense of this mysterious and sacred ancient map ball thing that is leading them to a guy who disappeared like 12 years ago. If the ball was a missing persons locator that they had to ritually unlock and whisper Thrawn's name to, then I'd be more accepting. But that's not what it is, according to the information given to us. Maps don't locate missing persons! That's just not how they work! I hate it. I hate it so much. It's giving me flashbacks to Rise of Skywalker weird old dagger that somehow has a map to an event that happened 30 years ago for no reason, and NOT IN A GOOD WAY!!!! And we're probably going to get no explanation. NO MORE MAPS.
I love Shin Hati. Loooove her.
I wasn't super impressed with Rosario Dawson's interpretation of Ahsoka in previous shows, but I like her much more here. She actually had echoes of Ahsoka's mannerisms and wry playfulness from the animated shows and I really appreciated that.
Chopper looks just as good in animation as he does in live-action! My favorite funky little murder droid is back!
Hera is just.... okay. I'm having trouble connecting Mary Elizabeth Winstead's Hera to the animated Hera. Something is missing. Not sure what.
The idea that they might travel to another galaxy is super intriguing to me. But how the hell did Thrawn get there??
Yes, Thrawn was a brilliant strategist and leader in his day, a true big baddy, but ultimately he was bested by a chaotic teenager (Ezra my beloved<3) and I cannot understand why all these people still have so much faith in him and his ability to bring back the old ways or whatever. Like, I would look elsewhere for a savior, just sayin'.
So, yeah....I'm having some issues with the internal logic of the plot. And the Sabine as a Padawan thing is really throwing me. But I'm intrigued to see where this is going.
