I find it striking that the show gave us two shots of Trent stopping a door right before it closes, in back-to-back episodes, with the first instance inevitably informing our reading of the second. Meaning, once that particular, distinctive shot is associated with Trent following Colin to come out to him/reassure him about being queer, seeing that shot again - especially so soon - automatically makes us go, "Okay, so what does this have to do with the themes of queer sexuality and coming out? Is this another case of Trent, on a literal level, running after a queer man?"
Tumblr media
In a very general sense, this scene did have Trent 'come out' again: as a "dork," as autistic (based on many fans' reading of his enthusiasm and body language), as a total convert to the "Lasso Way," as a genuinely happy person after nearly three whole seasons of playing the cool, collected, despairingly cynical journalist. However, the takeaway is not just that Trent is finally comfortable enough to fully express himself, it's that he overtly acknowledges that Ted is the one who brought this about. Remember, "sport" is the metaphor and here everything Trent discusses about Total Football is really just a figurative expression of his love of Ted.
He's not even subtle about it, what with his language entirely focused on Ted's individual influence, rather than emphasizing the work the team has put in, or their own significant influences. (It's a biased focus that Trent indulges in despite Jamie straight up saving the day an hour before with Trent right there, watching him do it). He starts the scene by screaming Ted's name, says the strategy will work because of the Lasso Way, you haven't switched tactics, you've done this over three seasons. Trent might think that the fourth point doesn't matter, but really he's already discovered it. The last piece of the puzzle is Ted (or more broadly, the love that Ted helps flourish). A team can have conditioning, versatility, and awareness, but if they haven't formed the kind of bond we see when the boys are putting that water bottle into Will's basket, all of those others skills will come to naught when pit against the fluid, trust-based tactics of Total Football. That's the final condition that Ted has brought about and Trent's celebration of it is, by default, a celebration of Ted himself. Coupled with our opening door-stop that invites a, 'What gay quest is Trent heading out on now?' question, it's no wonder I've seen so many, "I thought Trent was going to kiss him" comments the last 24 hours. YEAH because that's how this scene is framed! Trent is newly out to the audience. He's paralleling his previous queer-focused plot-line. He's the most himself we've ever seen him while enthusiastically celebrating the existence of the man in front of him. What isn't romantic about that?
I also can't help but think about the door itself as a metaphor; of a possibility almost closing... only to be halted at the last possible second. We have the expression "When God closes a door he opens a window," yet in this episode we're explicitly told that God is not a part of this dynamic, so instead it's Trent - the supposed "observer" - who stops the door before it can close in the first place. He kept alive the possibility that Colin could find peace with someone about his sexuality and now he's keeping alive Ted's faith in his own coaching style... as well as the possibility for their romantic involvement (canon-based or fanon-based).
I know the "straight" comment disappointed a lot of fans, but the way I see it we have an episode where Ted's sexuality is framed in the past tense, while we get a shot of Trent giving him a I Know What You Are look similar to what Colin received, right after Ted gushes over loving a great head of hair + a clean-shaven look (Trent's vibe), alongside the meta (Lance's interviews) and canonical ("No, Sir / Yes, Ma'am") queering of Trent's gender, during a stint where a whole group of men are tied together by red strings of fate, right before one of those out men literally runs rom-com style after another to gush over how much he adores him while they're connected by their own strip of red.

I was thinking of something while watching outlander.
As we know SJM loves outlander and you can find small pieces of it throughout her work. To me and many others Jamie is the most like Lucien and while watching season 3 finale it reminded me of something:
One of Elain’s visions:
“I can hear the sea, even at night even in my dreams. The crashing sea — and the screams of a bird made of fire.”
Tumblr media
At the end of season 3 Jamie and Claire’s boat crashes and Claire is drowning and she’s thinking:
“I was dead. Everything around me was a blinding white. And there was a soft rushing sound like the wings of angels. I felt peaceful. And bodiless. Free of terror. Free of rage. Filled with a quiet happiness.”
Tumblr media
Now, in an interview SJM mentioned how when she was thinking of ideas for Elain’s book she was gardening and tearing away at ivy and how the ivy would be “strangling” Elain at night because it doesn’t not want to let go. So this moment with Claire could parallel two moments; The cauldron experience for Elain, as she did not fight. Or if Elain ends up traveling with Lucien, Jurian and Vassa to Koschei and something similar occurs.
But Lucien isn’t a Bird of Fire?!
No he’s not; but his father is a bird of light, a light that countered that of Rhys’ darkness. Which brings me back to Claire’s speech; “everything around me was blinding white, soft rushing sound like wings of angels.”
It has been hinted at that Lucien does posses this magic: In Hybern, with Feyre in ACOWAR and in ACOSF with Cassian. His power being “Flame-Licked”
Which leads me to wonder if Elain is put in a similar position where her life is in danger again, will we see more of Lucien’s power? And this image is indeed Elucien because it mirrors the popular elucien image where the scared man is looking down at the female:
Also when Feyre, Rhys and Lucien all meet in the woods Feyre imagines a painting.
“The cunning fox stared down winged Death.”
In a lot of the art for elucien there is this theme of light, the moon, skulls, flowers, foxes. So it’s interesting to think about.

I cannot believe people are seriously complaining to me about how they don't know how to filter tags when I'm not even the one using other characters only to talk about byler ( in fact if you actually read my blog I have made many and many posts about almost every singular character because I love them all) and just because I pointed out a freaking parallel about my favourite character and Max being intentionally written with the same story because both have suicidal thoughts in the story and it means Will will face Vecna like Max did... That's in the story because the writers of the show are telling Will's journey of his coming out and that's what will happen next season when he will be face to face with Vecna - byler or no byler involved, that's what this story was always about because he's the one that was kidnapped in season 1 and they have been preparing this since before season 1... they wrote he had problems with his sexual identity before writing the rest of the show
Part of the story was always about El and Will facing Henry in the finale + all the other characters that love them all around them and meanwhile we had the privilege to see the other characters stories before the final story!
It STARTED with Will and he's the one that's gonna make it end and defeat Vecna with all the other characters and that's just what the narrative is telling us
It's a story about the underdog winning against evil
Jamie said once in an interview Will is going to be in the middle of all the connections because his story is the last one that will be told
It doesn't mean he's more important than the other characters but he is connected to everything and he's the one that's gonna put the mirror in front of Henry and make him see that even if they are similar they will never be the same and he's the one ( with El and the others! ) that will make him pay for all the suffering he put his friends and family in these past years through and for what he did to him
Will is going to face his darkest fears next season and he's going to overcome them

Thing is, based on what was said by the creative team behind the show, Ted Lasso’s ending was planned from the beginning, with all the care and attention to detail that it entails. To be enjoyed as a three chapters story. I saw an interview Jason S. gave recently about how things have organically changed, as it does when you bring in actors who have their own quirks and understanding of their characters and so on but that the major plot points were planned. You can’t argue with that. The evidence is everywhere.
Such as Ted predicting how pivotal Jamie would become if he truly were a team player for instance.
And yes. So is TedBecca.
Kenny Rogers sang by the Dutch Guy or the “Fuck me!” Line seem coincidental after all this time but to future audience members who will bingewatch the show in one go, they’ll make that connection within a week and marvel over the fact that they had planted the seeds as early as series 1.
So is the Bantr texting Red Herring. They didn’t do it to mislead us for just one episode and have a good laugh at the our expense. “Haha you fools! Just because they’re the two leads”. That’s not it. They wanted us to think it was Ted for a reason. And it worked. Everybody thought Bantr Guy was Ted for a hot minute. That’s intentional. So that we get the idea into our heads. Same with Ted mentioning how neato it would be if he met his soulmate on Bantr. It’s just yet another seed. If anything, this moment exposes their tendency to do the exact same thing at the exact moment. Never mind that they weren’t texting each other. It’s still significant.
Same for 1991. And Oklahoma. And the Hallway Scene. And Ted wanting to spend time with her for one night. Now the green matchbook. Just to name a few that a casual viewer cannot miss. Don’t get me started on the She Believes in Me lyrics describing their relationship and Ted finding Total Football. Or the Red Thread of Fate with their matching tops. Or the biscuit box nails and clothes. Or the line from Hey Jude when Ted sees Rebecca’s text. Or the handbag framing their hands with the biscuits. Or how they often mirror each other with their silliness and gestures.
It’s the Lasso Way!
Even The Lasso Way is the Lasso Way! They implanted Trent describing it so we know for certain that’s what they were doing all along for these two as well!
You don’t spend three series making sure we know two characters are cosmically connected, going through parallel journeys, supporting (or attempting to support) each other at their worst moments, whose potential partners are being crossed off the list, for them to just remain what they already are in the grande finale. When the show is famously romcom inspired. It would be incredibly bizarre at this point to do anything other than have Ted and Rebecca realise that they are officially soulmates.

I’ll need a few days to really process the last episode, so don’t expect any meta until the weekend.
But I wanted to write a post about why I believe in the writers and why I think that … this sounds so arrogant and delusional, but that my predictions here* are roughly what will happen and queer folks can stay hopeful.
(*tl;dr: Essentially that Colin will be the inspiration for main characters to address their queerness, Ted Lasso spent two seasons straightbaiting its entire audience and this season will end queer as fuck)
When I started watching Ted Lasso I thought it would be a fun, but silly little sports comedy, but very soon it got obvious how the show featured heavier themes and that they didn’t follow the expected script. Like, when Rebecca tells Ted the truth, you’d normally get some drama and rising conflict – but we got instant forgiveness.
And it got soon obvious we’d get a love triangle with Jamie, Keeley and Roy and – as someone who knows how the script goes – my first assumption was, that Roy x Keeley will be endgame (which was sad, since I adored Jamie x Keeley from the beginning, but I digress).
But some of the things that usually put me off love triangles were missing: there was no prolonged unnecessary drama after Roy learned that Keeley hooked up with Jamie the night before, Jamie and Roy didn’t fight over who would “get” Keeley (even though Roy’s jealousy sure was one reason for the tension between him and Jamie, but it wasn’t the only one), Jamie didn’t try to actively win Keeley back throughout the second season, he didn’t try to sabotage their relationship, even though he still loved her. The rocky parts in Roy’s and Keeley’s relationship weren’t related to Jamie at all, on the contrary, Jamie kind of unintentionally fixed their problems.
So, when they diverge so much from the expected, should I really still assume they’ll end the show with the thing everyone expects to happen? (like, in classic romance structure, Roy and Keeley now had their third act break-up, that always happens before the happily ever after … but as Phil said in an interview, they’re situation is a lot more complex than you’ll usually get.)
So, anyway, Ted Lasso was playing with expectations from the beginning. You’d expect Ted x Rebecca and Roy x Keeley endgame cause that is how the classic narrative works but the show subverted classic structure in the first season. So why should we assume that they just stick to the classic script now?
Also the theme song:
“Yeah, might be all that you get,
Yeah, I guess this might well be it“
I always thought, for an optimistic show like Ted Lasso this was a kinda sober beginning. But if you look at this with a queer eye … Cishet people are so used to seeing their happy endings playing out, so that is what they’ll expect to get. Until the last couple years, queer people barely got any stories with happy endings, so you didn’t exactly grow up with the expectation you’ll get a happy ending.
So you just had to take what you got.
But on the other hand the song has this hopeful bit about trying and not giving up. And … okay, I’m not sure where I’m going with this, but, idk, it just feels like it would fit as the theme song for an ultimately hella queer show?
And there are a lot of allusions to “The Wizard of Oz”, starting with the title of the first episode, Ted being the “Man from Kansas” aka Dorothy – googling I found this post pointing out a lot parallels in the second season, so it is not just me being delusional again.
For context: The movie was released 1939. Between 1934 and 1968 due to the Hays Code people couldn’t be shown as being explicitly queer in movies in the US, so writers started to queercode characters to still indicate queerness. And there is of course queercoding in “The Wizard of Oz” just like Ted Lasso and the movie as a whole resonated a lot with queer audiences, making Judy Garland a Gay Icon (see here).
Both the movie and L. Frank Baumans novels have a lot of queer subtext (like, there is even kind of a trans character in the novels?). "Friend of Dorothy” was a way gay men referred to each other at a time, where they couldn’t just openly ask about someone’s orientation.
Fun Fact: The movies title song “Over the Rainbow” soon became a queer anthem and people wondered whether it inspired the rainbow flag. But the creator, Gilbert Baker, said he was inspired by,
wait for it,
“She’s a Rainbow” by the Rolling Stones (see here).
Rings a bell?
The episode “Rainbow”?
Roy returning as a coach to Richmond?
Also: Jamie comparing the team to the Rolling Stones? Himself to Mick Jagger and Roy to Keith Richards, who both wrote the song?
And, looking at episode titles some more: The color "Lavender" is so queer it has it's own LGTBQ-section on Wikipedia. Also the bisexual pride flag, where the colours overlap to form lavender? There was probably some other reason I forgot that the episode where Jamie returned was called like the queerest color ever, but still …
WHAT A BUNCH OF CURIOUS COINCIDENCES!
Oh God, the more I look, the queerer everything gets! I think I could go on some more, but I need to get breakfast and then some work done.

"maybe you guys would understand henry’s character better if you simply read jamie’s & the duffers’ interviews."
so shld we rely on the articles where they call young henry a psychopath nd a sociopath while saying tht brenner isn't one? bc all tht's not true abt henry after tfs was put out. so they werent being truthful wth us, they were hiding henrys true personality. how cn we rely on interviews, thn?
nd werent u the one talking abt henry being hannibal lecter 2.0? tht strght up doesnt track wth wht we were shown in tfs, abt the shadow nd henrys real personality.
the duffers didn’t lie about the reasons why henry became vecna. they said it was brenner’s fault and that he manipulated henry, and that he had his own reasons to do that. all of that was shown and explained in tfs.
henry can still be a sociopath, considering that he was conscious when killing his family in tfs. it was his choice. also it is possible to develop sociopathic tendencies as an adult because of life experiences, such as intense trauma or abuse.
as for henry / hannibal parallels, there was an interview where the duffers mentioned them, and as a fan of both versions of hannibal, i got interested in it. i agree that they weren’t shown in tfs, but season 4 henry is still very much hannibal coded. not to mention that their backstories are similar in several aspects. and btw, i wasn’t the only one in the fandom who talked about hannibal / henry parallels.
i also said that henry wasn’t born evil, and it was confirmed in tfs. but what happened to him really made him a f*cked up person, so even if he wasn’t born a villain, he can be considered a villain now (while also being a victim).

Hey so I have totally fallen down the hole here in regards to Henry-Will Phantomgate! I blame you hahaha! And so when I saw some interesting tidbits yesterday they hit me even harder than usual.
So I was just on twitter and saw someone tweet a screen cap of Will in the California school, and it was a screencap of when he was being flirted with by his pretty classmate. They were talking about how in the show they block characters with things right behind them, behind their head etc, that are often clues to the plot and whatnot, and I’ve seen this mentioned before and seen other examples where this very much fits. Well this screencap, where’s Will is being overtly flirted with and looks very uncomfortable, he has a book right behind his head with the word HENRY in bold letters! I was shook! :0
and then remember that tweet going around from the strangers writers? let’s start a new party you and me? what if that line we have been teased about, and many assumed would be byler and come from Mike, is actually said by VECNA instead?
vecna to will after he takes him to the upside down again and tries to convince will to join him: let’s start a new party, you and me. !!
it’s the perfect way for phantom!vecna to try and woo Will when he already feels isolated from his friends/the party anyways. It’s also subtextual still but a lot more romantically coded (so romantically coded everyone assumed it was said by Mike) so it won’t go totally unnoticed by those catching on to the themes. It’s also a great call back to mike asking: what if you want to join a new party? and will says: not possible. like sorry vecna!
also not even gonna touch on all the 👀 things Jamie has said in his interviews about Will and Henry… oh yea something is up lol
I take it this is the big POTO ask the other anon was referring to! So at long last I have an answer for you, Nonnie!
First - I have Many thoughts about that scene in Cali. It's something that's been running circles in my head. Because if, per timeline theory, Edward Creel is Vecna/One, and Vecna doesn't mention Will at all, then why is Henry right behind Will's Mindflayer spot? And how does that tie in with the Everything Else?
It goes back to something I've done deep dives about re: costuming but only touched on briefly re: narratives...and it's that they are different guys:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
like...undeniably. In both face and costuming. Mindflayer guy in symbiosis is also referred to as "the shadow/shadow monster". So if Edward is Vecna, he and Henry are each other's Jungian shadows, and the Mindflayer is the shadow while being separate from Vecward...then it stands to reason that a version of Henry be the leading figure here (I have thoughts about this re: who went where, because there are at least two copies and there's some stuff about absorption that I need to flesh out more).
It would also track with something else I have a full post coming about, which is the Billy-Heather duality. They're special from the rest of the flayed, and while Billy acts distinctly Edward...Heather not so much. She's similar, almost enough to be mistaken as an extension of Billy, but she's clearly different from the rest of them. I'm particularly intrigued by the line "She could have killed me" from Billy, and Heather's response being "Yes, but not us" before panning to a number of dormant flayed...which she, for some reason, is separate from.
And when she finally does merge with the flayed, Billy remains entirely autonomous from the fleshflayer. The whole season feels like a merger between Vecna and the Mindflayer, especially with the emergence of the clawed tentacle face grab stuff.
Thus, Henry showing up Will's Mindflayer spot...would track. Hard. It would tie up the loose ends re: Heather, attack imagery swaps (invasive tentacle penetration vs external mouth grabbing with an orific/suck-pumping behavior more similar to Vecna's claw), character paralleling (Will and Henry being paralleled behaviorally, but El being more behaviorally similar to our Edward figure), and lack of associations (Vecna as we know him presently not being visually associated with Will or the Shadow, only El, but the first 2 seasons being almost insanely Will-specific).
This would also set us up for Will confronting the guy who actually did the POTO-coded stuff: Mindflayer Guy. Vecna as we know him presently doesn't have quite as much Phantom coding as Mindflayer Guy does. They both do, just in unequal amounts re: Will.
So...tl;dr: Distinction between Vecna and Mindflayer Guy!!
I could absolutely see a situation where mostly-human Mindflayer Guy pulls the Big Sad Wet Eyes and tries to pull Will to his side with his (admittedly gut-wrenching) backstory and the "we're the same, you and I/surely you understand/etc." sales pitch (whether he truly believes it or not, it is still a sales pitch). And while we all know it probably wouldn't win Will over, it would definitely be enough to make him even more conflicted about using violence/brutality.
The whole thing in POTO is that Christine chooses to "start her new party" (so to speak) with Raoul rather than the Phantom, and after she shows him compassion, he realizes the harm he's done and the monster he's become. Her goodness is the mirror. So while I don't think the words "let's start a new party, you and me" would come from the HenFlayer (imo they sound more Mike in tone than Henry)...the vibe is definitely there. And the whole thing is definitely cast in a romantic light, especially if Will were made to choose between his love interest and the HenFlayer.
Which, I agree: that would totally solidify all the shit from previous seasons that has been left up in the air as to intent, even if the actions themselves are blatant SA.
AND JAMIE SDKFJDKSJFH God okay so. Here's the thing. The film is the Thing, and what actors say reflects their current understanding of their characters (i.e. not necessarily reflective of ST5). However. That, in conjunction with Noah joking about rizzing up Vecna...I see them. I see them.
Something is definitely up, and it's going to be gut wrenching either way. Will deserves his confrontation, even if it won't end in violence the way some fans think it will.

i’m calling a few things now for stranger things 5:
-it feels pretty obvious by now that Eddie is coming back in some capacity. if they don’t bring him back it’ll honestly be a huge missed opportunity, not just from a fan perspective but also from a business perspective. it really feels like they set his death up deliberately to bring him back if Joe Quinn knocked it out of the park, and he very much did. the fact that they didn’t show his body nor the team/Dustin’s exit from the Upside Down seems pretty deliberate to give some validity to the “he may come back to life somehow” rumor mill. i may be overestimating their writing team and this was completely accidental, but also throw in the fact that he’s STILL doing a ton of press, specifically with Jamie Campbell Bower(who plays Vecna) even though his character is supposedly dead and not coming back(i’m just saying, they tried to pull this last season with Hopper, and it didn’t seem to work much then either)? it could potentially set up Vecna somehow bringing him back and controlling him like he did with Billy or with Will. the whole parallels to Wayne’s outfit in his scene with Dustin matching Jonathan’s outfit from s1, the parallels from the music in the scenes of both Eddie’s death and Will’s revival? it just seems like these weren’t things that were done on accident, imo. and even if they were accidental, they could still retroactively make them work if they really wanted to milk the Eddie love for all it’s worth(and judging from his popularity, it’s worth quite a bit). at the very least i won’t be surprised if we see some flashbacks, or visions from Vecna, or something.
-also, i think if he does come back proper, his story will likely mirror Will’s experiences from s1 and s2. piggybacking off my last point, there’s already some evidence for a potential of that with what i mentioned, and i feel like it could set up for Will to somehow save him(pure speculation on my part but it’d be fun to see lol). his story could also mirror Billy’s, but with a twist that at least Eleven knows how to save people from Vecna’s control now, and could potentially save him a lot sooner.
-i think this’ll also be the season we finally see someone from s1 die. my money’s on Eleven, Will, or Johnathan/Steve(either one of them in an attempt to subvert the whole love triangle thing we supposedly had resolved two fuckin seasons ago).
-possibly also Ted Wheeler, but i also feel that Karen might finally divorce him if they both live through all this. either way i feel like Ted’s bubble is about to burst in a hilarious yet terrible way if he doesn’t just flat-out kick the bucket.
-i also don’t think Max is going to survive either. judging from interviews with the duffer brothers i’ve seen, they were really on the fence on whether or not to kill her off, and so they kind of settled for this in-between state she’s currently in. i feel like if they do go ahead and kill off someone from s1, then they’ll probably do the same to her, since they already pulled the bandaid off. it’ll make me very sad if they do, but i do feel like this may be her eventual fate.
-i really have a feeling(or at least a hope) we’ll finally see more of Kali this season. it’d feel very weird if her story just left off where it did, although there’s always the potential for spinoffs if they don’t include her. it just seems like maybe if Eleven herself isn’t strong enough to stop Vecna, that her big sister would finally come to her senses and come help to save the day. idk, it just really seems like it’d be a waste if she didn’t come back.
-i have no evidence for this but i just really want Murray to analyze the El/Mike/WIll thing and chide the original teens for continuing the dumb love triangle thing. i also just want more of Murray. and Argyle. and Erica. and i want all of them to interact. and if the duffer brothers hurt them i will do donuts on a motorcyle all over their nice lawns.

Jamie Gray goes to a six-month performance review as an employee for food delivery startup füdmüd expecting to impress boss Rob Sanders with plans to grow the company, only to be terminated and offered a delivery contract instead. At first rejecting the offer, Jamie is eventually forced to take it after all to make rent, as jobs are scarce in COVID-19-afflicted New York City. One delivery client turns out to be Tom Stevens, an old acquaintance, and over the next few weeks of deliveries they renew their friendship. Tom has a lucrative position with KPS, a secretive animal rights NGO, and is slated to head out into the field right about the same time Jamie loses the delivery job (füdmüd having been bought out). Tom offers Jamie a job with his own employer, and Jamie, again out of options, goes in for the interview, is accepted, and is soon on a plane to Thule Air Base in Greenland.
Thule Air Base turns out to hide the gateway to a parallel Earth, in which evolution took a different turn after the early Mesozoic era, resulting in a planet dominated by impossibly immense creatures whose growth is fueled by internal bio-nuclear reactors. Mankind first became aware of this world in the wake of World War II, when the use of atomic bombs opened temporary portals between the worlds, to which and through which the creatures were attracted by the radiation fallout, on which they feed. After Japanese filmmakers were inspired by rumors of the initial breakthrough to make “Kaiju” movies such as Godzilla and its successors, the creatures were dubbed Kaiju. Aside from such rumors, their real-life existence has been kept secret by governments around the world, who formed KPS (the Kaiju Preservation Society) to study the Kaiju Earth, prevent additional breakthroughs, and protect the denizens of each world from those of the other.
Kaiju Earth is a torrid world, high in oxygen and radioactive volatiles, dominated by Kaiju and teeming with lesser predators. Sent to Tanaka Base, an outpost in the Kaiju Earth version of Labrador, Jamie supports the scientific staff studying the biota there, particularly the Kaiju “Bella,” a brooding mother laying her eggs at the irradiated site of the death of another Kaiju, whose internal atomic pile overheated and exploded—a not infrequent occurrence. Unfortunately, this event weakened the barrier between worlds, and Bella planting herself at the very location the event occurred is keeping the barrier from rehealing. A predatory corporation on the Human Earth side (coincidentally led by Jamie’s old boss Rob Sanders), in on the Kaiju secret, takes the opportunity to breach the barrier and move the Kaiju mother and her eggs to the Human side. Jamie and the other KPS team members must somehow cross over themselves and Bella, both to preserve the Kaiju secret and protect both worlds.

One For The Road
Alex Turner x reader
Summary: You are on tour with Alex in Germany, rent a car to explore the city, you both can’t wait to get back to the hotel after getting aroused, car sex
warnings: smut, teasing from Alex
word count: 2254
A/N: tbh, I kinda want to do a part two
✿✼:*゚:༅。.。༅:*・゚゚・⭑ ✿✼:*゚:༅。.。༅:*・゚゚・⭑
The view from your hotel room balcony in Berlin was amazing. You thought that you shouldn't have come, but when Alex asked you to come with him and the band, you couldn't have refused.
Though, you didn't think that you two would be able to see each other a lot of time and only get to see one another whenever Alex came back to the hotel to go to sleep. But that wasn't the case. He made sure that you felt included, such as, letting you come watch them during sound checks, bringing you to the interviews, bringing you behind the stage, and taking you on dates whenever he could.
Alex was still asleep, too tired from what you did last night. He took you on a romantic diner to celebrate your anniversary, then once you both got back to the hotel, he fucked you four times until you could hardly feel your legs.
The cool wind blowing against your skin, making you shiver slightly. You felt warm, strong arms wrap around you and someone's breath on you neck. "You cold, baby?" Alex asked, nuzzling his head into your neck, his breath tickling you a little.
"Yes," you laughed, as he'd started to kiss your neck. "Are you implying something here, Mister Turner?" you asked.
"No, why? Was last night not enough for you?" he said, moving away from you, walking back into your room. He put on a pair of underwear, cleaning up the mess of clothes that you both had made last night, throwing a pair of panties to you. Alex walked over to the suitcase that had your clothes in it, getting a pair of pants and a blouse for you, throwing them along with one of your bras on the bed.
"What are you doing, Al?" you questioned, sitting on the messed up bedsheets. "I'm going to take you out to see Berlin, like you always wanted to," he replied, putting on a pair of pants and walking to the bathroom to brush his hair and teeth.
He saw you still sitting on the bed from the bathroom, "Come on, get, get ready. I want to take my beautiful girlfriend out to see the city."
You stood up and put on a bra and a pair of matching lace panties, put on the jeans and blouse that Alex had picked out for you. You walked to bathroom and started to brush your teeth and hair. As you started to brush your teeth, Alex got done brushing his, and as he started to walk out, he playfully slapped your ass and laughed.
You saw Alex in the reflection of the mirror buttoning up his shirt, well actually buttoning up four buttons.
You finished brushing your teeth and hair and put on a bit of makeup. You didn't see any need to get all dressed up for just looking around the city, which was why you had decided to keep your look minimalistic look.
You walked out of the bathroom, looking at Alex who was sat on the bed, looking at his phone. "I'm ready, babe," you exclaimed, sitting beside Alex. He didn't look at you for more than a split second, paying more attention to his phone than you, which wasn't normal for Alex.
"Al, baby, what are you doing?" you asked.
"Oh, nothing, love. You look absolutely stunning," he said, putting his phone up, standing up, and holding his hand out for you. "I was just seeing if the car was here," he replied. You nodded and grabbed Alex's hand, him pulling you up, kissing you once you were stood against his chest. "And is the car here?" you asked after pulling away from him. He nodded and you both walked to the hotel room door, seeing Matt exit his own room which was just across the hall from you.
"Hey, where are you two going?" he asked.
"Well, I'm going to take me lovely girlfriend out to see Berlin since she's always wanted to," Alex explained, keeping you close to his side, placing a chaste kiss to your temple once he was done talking. All three of you talked for just a bit longer until Matt said bye and let you two go on with your plans.
You two walked to the elevator and Alex pressed the ground floor button. Alex grabbed you by the waist and kissed you lightly, nothing more than a quick peck on the lips. The elevator dinged and the doors opened, the both of you stepping out. You turned your head and saw Jamie and Katie eating breakfast. You told Alex and you both waved at them before walking out of the hotel.
You looked around for a taxi waiting for you and Alex, but you couldn't see one. "Alex, where's the taxi?" you asked, had expected that Alex was calling a taxi while he was on his phone.
"What taxi?" he replied, confused.
"You said that you were seeing if the car was here, so where is it?" you said, looking around once again.
Alex chuckled, shaking his head in disbelief. "Baby, I rented us a car for us to drive, not some stranger."
You nodded and asked where the car was and he pointed out a black Tahoe perfectly parallel parked to the right of you and Alex. "C'mon, love, let's go," he said, grabbing your hand, walking you over to the passenger door and opening it for you.
"Thank you, handsome," you said, making Alex laugh as he went around to the other side of the car to get in. He started the car and started to pull out onto the road.
When he did start to drive, you couldn't take your eyes off of him. He looked so concentrated on the road, not noticing you looking at him in awe. His hair slicked back out of his face, his white button up, which had very few buttons done, under his leather coat, his tight fitting black pants hugging his slim form, and his Chelsea boots that Alex, and you, adored.
You weren't paying enough attention to the road to notice that Alex had parked the car, taking the key out of the ignition.
"Baby, are you alright?" he asked, now noticing you starring at him, snapping you out of you daze. You nodded and got out of the car, grabbing your small bag, walking around to the other side to hold Alex's hand.
He pecked your lips, interlocking his fingers with yours. He led you down the street until Alex made you come to a stop at a store.
"Let's go in there, love," he said, walking inside, fingers still interlocked with yours.
You weren't sure what kind of store this was, you would've if Alex had let you stand there for just long enough to use the translator app on your phone since, unlike Alex, you couldn't speak German.
But once you were in and looked around for a moment, you knew exactly what kind of store it was. "Really, Alex, a lingerie store," you scoffed, rolling your eyes at him.
"Well, you did say you wanted a new lingerie set. And it will be like a gift for the both of us," he said. You laughed in response and you two began to look around the store.
You were looking at a bodysuit when Alex all of a sudden grabbed your hand and dragged you to another section of the store, stopping right in front of a shelf, full of mostly black lace two piece sets.  Alex picked one up and handed it to you. "Go try this one on, love," he said, pushing you to where the dressing rooms are.
"Alex, what - what are you doing?" you laughed, walking into the dressing room.
"Found you something that I think the both of us will like. So try it on, love," he replied. You scoffed and rolled your eyes at him and began to change out of your clothes into the lingerie set.
You finished changing and looked at yourself in the mirror. The lace bra barely covering your breasts,  you nipple could still be seen, no underwire to push them up. The thong didn't leave much t the imagination. "Baby, are you done changing?" Alex called from outside the door, lightly knocking on it.
"Yes," you replied, unlocking the door, and stepping out, doing a small twirl for Alex. He couldn't take his eyes off of you, starring at you up and down. He grabbed you by the waist and kissed your neck. "Alex, we're in public," you said.
"Well then, I guess that we should hurry up with the shopping so that we can go to dinner and repeat what we did last night," he whispered. "Go change, love."
You nodded and started to go back into the changing room, turning around quickly when Alex slapped your ass playfully, gasping dramatically. You laughed as you changed, exiting the dressing room, the lingerie in hand. You went to go put it back on the shelf, but Alex stopped you.
"Oh, love, we're absolutely getting you that," he drawled, taking it from you, grabbing your hand and bringing you to the register. As you were paying, Alex's hand kept slipping down to your ass. You nudged him with your arm, then you both left.
You and Alex walked bac to the car, he carried the bag as he opened the car door for you, handing you the bag, and getting in on the other side.
-
You and Alex shopped for most of the day, he took you out for dinner at a very expensive restaurant. You didn't want to get something expensive since he had already spent so much money on youearlier on in the day, as well as yesterday. Butt Alex loved treating you and spending as much money on you as he could and insisted that you get something more expensive.
But that wasn't all he did during dinner, he kept teasing you, slipping his hand up your. Thigh whenever he could, whispering dirty things in your ears when no on was looking.
After dinner was over, it was already eight, the sun had set and you were ready to get back to the hotel. You got in the car and as soon as Alex got in, he kissed you deeply, pulling away for breath and to start driving.
He pulled onto the Autobahn and began driving. One of his hands started to rub your thigh, getting closer and closer to the place where you needed him most. The ache between your legs becoming more prompt than before. Then, his thumb brushed up against your clit lightly, causing you to gasp.
"You like that?" he laughed, repeating the motion. You nodded, eyes closing once he did it again. He did this for two minutes, stopping abruptly, taking his hand away, your eyes opening again. "W-why'd you stop?" you asked. He didn't answer, just kept driving.
You looked him up  and down, noticing the bulge in his pants. "Alex," you said, putting your hands between your thighs.
"Yeah, love," he said.
"I-I need you," you stated, looking at him with the puppy eyes you know that he can't deny. He didn't look at you, nor respond, he just pulled the car over.
"Backseat, now, love," he drawled. You complied and unbuckled, crawling into the backseat. Alex got out and went to the other side so that he wouldn't be seen. Once he'd gotten in, he grabbed you and kissed you passionately. He pulled you into his lap, unbuttoning your blouse, taking it and your bra off.
"Love, take these off," he drawled, helping you unbutton your pants, you sat up enough so that you could take them off, pulling your panties down with them.
You undid the few button done up on Alex's shirt and undid his belt and pants, pulling them down enough with his boxers so that his cock could spring free. "C'mon, love," he said, bringing you back into his lap.
You sat up on your knees slightly, positioning his cock at your entrance before slowly lowering yourself onto him, his cock stretching your walls, accomendating to his size. Your head fell against his chest, looking up at him. He grabbed your hips once you sat up again and began to help you move.
At first, you rolled your hips into his. Then, you used all the strength you had to use your knees to push up, his cock sliding almost all the way out of you, Alex held your hips, forcing you back down on him.
You kept rolling your hips, the burning friction becoming over whelming. "God, love, you're so fucking wet," he hissed, one of his thumbs rubbing circles on your clit. Your moans filled the car, head falling back down on Alex's chest.
"Alex, I'm so close," you moaned, yours and Alex's skin slick with sweat. "M-me too, love," he replied, bucking his hips up into yours, rubbing on your clit harder.
It only took one flick of your clit and his hips to buck into yours to send you over the edge. Your orgasm triggering Alex's release, his hips stilling, releasing insdie of you, both of you panting heavily.
"I love you," he panted, kissing the top of your head. "You ready to go back to the hotel?" He asked.
"Yeah, just a few more minutes and we'll leave," you replied, sitting up and kissing him.

Ok I thought I was the only person who shipped Dani/Sam (ted lasso)!!! I am so happy someone else does! Please (!) go off on a rant!
i know this has been sitting in my inbox for a while, but BLESS you for this ask, anon. i am literally always ready to go off about my New Favorite Ship :D
okay we've ALL heard of the ship trope "ray of sunshine x grumpy storm cloud" BUT "ray of sunshine x ray of sunshine" is equally appealing and wonderful
sam is so kind and dedicated to football and stands up for what he believes in and dani is exuberant and enthusiastic and loves football and spreading joy - they already support each other wholeheartedly and encourage each other so much on and off the pitch, can you imagine how good and supportive partners they would be
no seriously though. imagine you're sam obisanya and it's your first season in the premier league and it's been a great experience but the striker of your team has been consistently treating you like shit and it Hurts. and then all of a sudden this new guy shows up and he's sweet and kind and adores football and within Literally Five Minutes Of Meeting You he learns your name, compliments your skill, works well with you, and makes you smile more than anyone else has so far. imagine your devastation when he's injured, and the relief when he turns out to be okay and continues playing well with you after the original striker leaves the team. what's that one soulmate quote where it's like "it wasn't love at first sight, but it was familiarity. something like oh, hello, it's you. it's going to be you." that's robisanya to a t.
they're literally onscreen together Constantly. i am usually the last person to ship a couple just because they're standing next to each other, but they get comfortable with each other so fast!!! dani literally jumps into sam's arms within five minutes of meeting him!! sam is the first person dani hugs after he arrives at the curse-breaking fire!!! (quite literally sam is Always the first person to reach dani when the team hugs!) they're sitting next to each other in the karaoke scene in 'make rebecca great again'!!! they're Always sitting or standing near each other in the locker room!!! their teamwork earned the team a goal in the man city match in the s1 finale!!! i could go on but just, they are clearly very comfortable with one another and very affectionate and it's wonderful to see.
the tiny details in s2 alone have destroyed me. in s2e2 you can see dani about to go after sam after sam storms off the pitch before ted follows. in s2e3 dani is The Only One who does not goodnaturedly rib sam about the dubai air pictures!!! he compliments sam genuinely!!! and you CANNOT convince me otherwise that while dani has genuine beef with jamie for his attitude, part of it HAS to be for how jamie treated sam. add all that to the parallels of sam and dani interacting kindly with the youngest higgins boy, and sam's support of dani during the penalty kick in s2e1, and how sam is the very first one to hug dani after dani gets over the yips, and you can see why i am Constantly Feral over these two. (not to mention all the bts pics cristo fernandez posts of himself and toheeb jimoh on instagram and that one interview the actors did where their characters were referred to "the beating hearts of the team".)
also like. look at them. they're beautiful AND they're fashion icons. name me a duo more iconic.

FAN THEORY THURSDAY: Megamind’s Connections Beyond the Film
Tumblr media
Before we get started, it’s time for the obligatory SPOILER WARNING!
In case this hasn’t been made sufficiently obvious by the fact that this is a post about Megamind written in a fan theory series about Megamind and published on a blog dedicated solely to Megamind, please let me just assure that this article is, in fact, about Megamind.
If you haven’t seen the film yet yet, I have to question why you’re reading this in the first place.  As well as your taste in animated movies.  I’m definitely questioning that.
Over the years I’ve heard several fan theories concerning connections between the film Megamind and various other forms of media.  Today, let’s delve into just a few.
The first one is so obvious it’s almost painful, but it has to be mentioned.  Megamind is a Superman spoof.  Metro Man is clearly based on the Man of Steel himself, with a hefty dose of Elvis Presley and a larger range of character flaws thrown in for good measure.  (He also seems to contain quite a lot of the Popular Jock archetype.)  The character of Megamind is more complex still, combining elements of Alice Cooper and a nineties Goth theater kid with several comic book supervillains. The best known of the last include alien genius Brainiac and mad inventor Lexx Luthor, but they aren’t the only ones.  Some of Megamind’s engineering and technological inventions call to mind Spiderman villain Doctor Octopus even more than Lexx Luthor, and he also shares some parallels with the mad inventor Dr. Sivana in the SHAZAM comics.
Tumblr media
Megamind’s most notable of the latter is the similarity of attitudes toward society.  Both Megamind and Dr. Sivana started off trying to use their inventions for good—the first in the classroom and the second for the betterment of mankind—but both became bitter when people mocked and shunned them.  For Dr. Sivana, this led to a desire to conquer all of Earth while for Megamind, in a sort of microcosm, it led to a similar drive to take over Metro City.  Both Lexx Luthor and Dr. Sivana have, perhaps, the strongest connections to Megamind as share, deep down, a desire to help or protect mankind, and as Lexx Luthor, like Megamind, harbors a secret love for the reporter damsel in their respective stories.  (This desire to do good, especially in the face of corrupt officials, ties into another Megamind fan theory that I will likely discuss in more detail in a later post.)
The connection between Megamind and Alice Cooper, by the way, was extremely intentional.  The creators stated in an interview that, like Alice Cooper, Megamind’s dark, evil self is, in fact, a stage persona.  (Even their clothing, consisting largely of black leather and spikes, is similar.)  That fact is illustrated in the film as we can see that Megamind’s behaviors on- and off-camera tend to be vastly different.  Even as a villain, he is merely playing a role, although in the case of Megamind that role has begun to merge with his self-identity.
There are, however, hints within the world of DreamWorks that Megamind has other connections as well.  The first is fairly recent and intensely interesting. In the Rise of the Guardians, Jamie Bennett, a young boy who still steadfastly believes in the seemingly impossible, mentions “aliens in Michigan,” only to be scoffed at by his friends.  Because Metro City is located in Michigan, (as can be seen briefly when the Death Ray is fired from space,) many fans theorize that the “aliens in Michigan” are none other than Megamind, Minion, and, perhaps, Metro Man.
Tumblr media
This would indicate that the two stories take place in the same world, and that Megamind’s adventures, while well-known in Metro City itself, have been covered up and kept secret from the rest of the world.  (Imagine moving to a moderately-sized city only to discover that—surprise!—there’s an extraterrestrial supervillain in residence and, oh, by the way, if you live downtown homeowners’ insurance is ridiculous!)
The second inter-film connection is less clear, but has spawned some interesting fan theories as well.  The idea is that, like Rise of the Guardians, Monsters VS. Aliens also takes place in the same reality as Megamind.  It’s not too far fetched—after all, both films involve extraterrestrials and amazing inventions—but there is one specific theory that really ties the two together.  Consider this for a moment: Megamind is a blue alien with incredible intelligence who hails from a destroyed planet.  Does that sound like any other DreamWorks character you know?  If you’ve seen Monster VS. Aliens, the antagonist, Gallaxhar, probably springs to mind.
Tumblr media
According to Fandom.com, Gallaxhar’s official backstory is that he “destroyed his home planet” for the implied reason that “he experienced bad childhood and unhappy marriage.”  The fan theory is that that Gallaxhar’s planet was, in fact, Megamind’s home world, and that the former created or harnessed the black hole which destroyed it.  This would explain why Megamind’s people—as well as Metro Man’s—didn’t have time to escape despite being space-faring.  You see, black holes take millions of years to develop, and even a rogue black hole would take about a million to shift and swallow an entire solar system, so if the event had occurred naturally, there should have been plenty of time to build an entire fleet of spacecraft and leave for Earth or another safe planet.  (The fact that Megamind’s parents set his escape pod’s navigation system for Earth indicates that they knew of its existence.)
Of course, despite their large heads and blue skin tones, there are quite a few physical differences between Megamind and Gallaxhar.  The first is humanoid while the second has four eyes and tentacles instead of legs.  Fan theories have explanations for that, too, however.
There appear to be two schools of thought on the subject.  The first is that Gallaxhar was another breed of alien living on the planet, possibly a servile race different from Minions, and the second is that part of Gallaxhar’s “bad childhood” involved being experimented upon, thus giving him his bizarre appearance and his seeming obsession with experimenting on others.  (There is some disagreement in the Megamind fandom about exactly why Gallaxhar was subjected to such treatment, ranging from falling into the hands of an unscrupulous scientist to being part of an experimental medical program.  The latter fan theory suggests that Gallaxhar was both blind and paraplegic, and that his additional eyes and tentacle “legs” were meant to rectify that, but that those physical differences made him an outsider, thus leading to his unhappy life and ultimate hatred for his own planet.)
If that were true, many may wonder what, exactly, Megamind might do if he ever found out about Gallaxhar.  Well, good news!  Just like there’s an app for everything, there’s a fan theory for that, too!  I will warn you, however, that this one is, frankly, build upon pretty thin evidence.  However, it’s interesting enough to be worth relating.
There is a character in Monsters VS. Aliens named General Warren R. Monger who, on the surface, is exactly what he appears to be: a high-ranking military man.  However, there are a few things that fans point to as possible evidence that Monger isn’t what he seems.
The first is so simple that, alone, it would be inconsequential.  Monger rose through the ranks uncommonly fast, so much so that it caused some comment among others.  The second is significantly odder; Monger claims to be ninety years old despite looking like he is in his late forties.  Now, of course, this may have simply been the character exaggerating or messing with the “monsters” under his care, but some fans say it’s more than that, and claim that Monger chose that age because he was unfamiliar with human lifespans.  Next there is the fact that Monger is so intelligent that, despite one of the beings in his containment facility. Doctor Cockroach, being a super-genius, Monger outwits every escape attempt the monsters can make.  Then, of course, there is the fact that, despite his brusque manner, Monger seems to actually sympathize with the inhuman people he is charged with containing, and even pushes for them to be given a chance to prove themselves.  There is the oddity that, although he is assigned to the secret military base at “Area Fifty-Something,” Monger seems to disappear a lot, often for days at a time.  Finally, there are a few key physical and technological attributes: Monger has some odd and incredibly energetic facial expression—including a nearly maniacal smile and a dark scowl—as well as a jet pack that he appears to have constructed himself and green eyes.
Tumblr media
I’m still not certain I see the resemblance, but maybe there are some similarities?  What do you think?
If you’re familiar with Metro City’s resident blue alien, you can probably see where this is going.  Although it’s not a popular theory, I’ve heard it suggested in the Megamind fandom that Monger is, in fact, Megamind disguised using his holowatch.  (This is why the green eyes are significant; Megamind’s eye color is the only aspect of his appearance that the holowatch doesn’t change.  However, I feel compelled to note that the shade of green appears to be different.) Fans insist that it would have been easy for someone as incredibly brilliant as Megamind to hack government systems and forge documents such as birth certificates thoroughly enough to dupe even U.S. Military Intelligence. The two jet packs, some have contested, look different either because of the disguise or because the one featured in Monster VS. Aliens is an older model. I’ve even seen the fact that both Megamind and Monger begin with M being pointed to as possible evidence that the latter is no more than an invention of the former.
The argument is as follows: as Monsters VS. Aliens takes place in 2009, one year before events in Megamind, it’s possible that Megamind, still being a villain, created an alter-ego which he could use to help him search for and deal with other alien life.  (He is shown to be painfully lonely, and the Megamind comics reveal his desperate desire to find other survivors from his home planet.)  Upon figuring out who Gallaxhar was, and more importantly what he had done, Megamind wanted to be part of taking him down.  But he couldn’t be too open about it; he was, after all, still a “Bad Guy.”  This theory explains Monger’s frequent long absences—during those time Megamind was back in Metro City taking care of his regular business— as well as why Monger had a secret soft spot for the “monsters.”  Megamind, having always been treated like a monster himself, would naturally want to give them a chance, but wouldn’t dare behave in too overtly friendly a manner as it would have aroused suspicion.
As I said, support for that particular theory is, perhaps, a little thin, especially given the fact the Monsters VS. Aliens preceded Megamind, so character designs from the former are unlikely to have been influenced by the latter.  Nonetheless, I admit to appreciating the complexity and creativity of it.  It’s an undeniably fun theory. If they haven’t already, maybe someone will write a fan fiction about it one day.
Those are only a few of the theories out there connecting Megamind with other fandoms.  One could go on and on about the subject, but I won’t torture readers by doing that.  Nonetheless, it illustrates once again the immense love and original thought that Megamind fans put into developing their theories!  I dare say that few other animated movies have earned a following so dedicated and inventive…  But, then, any of us who love the film Megamind will tell you that it has more than earned the consideration!

Even though we have seen very little of Gina and Jamie’s relationship based off what I have seen like I said before in my last ask I feel like the best way to describe their relationship is compare their relationship to Anna and Elsa relationship at the beginning of Frozen. Based off the way Tim Federle has talked about Jamie in interviews it seems like to me that Jamie might be one of the main characters relatives that will appear in Season 3 in some episodes. Part 1/2
Tumblr media
THIS IS SO REAL!!!!! LIKE THE PARALLEL IS THERE…… OMG

I do think it’s possible that Jamie might appeared in Season 3 in some episodes. Disney announced that S3 will on location in Los Angeles and that Camp Shallow Lake is in California. My guess is CSL is in LA and Jamie probably lives LA too. If that is the case Gina will be going to camp in the same city where her brother happens to live this could be a great opportunity for Gina to rebuild her relationship with Jamie paralleling how Anna rebuild her relationship with Elsa in Frozen.
I think so too. They don't always announce the return of (recurring) guest stars who've already appeared on the show. For example, as far as I know they didn't announce Alex Quijano's (Mike Bowen) return for season two, and he was in 6 out of 12 eps. So Jamie could easily be in one or more episodes and we wouldn't know about it until the episode airs.
Given how last season ended and what Tim has teased in interviews, I expect Jamie to show up at least once. Tim seems to have several stories he wants to tell with him. For now, all we now is that CSL is in California, but it's very possible that it's close to LA, making it easy for Jamie to visit Gina. And yeah, if he indeed shows up, I find it likely he and Gina will parallel Elsa and Anna's storyline, with Jamie in the Elsa role and Gina in the Anna one.

Nate Calrissian - Empire Strikes Back speculation
So with the ‘Empire Strikes Back’ comparisons, and the fact that Nick Mohammed says he’s worried about how fans are going to take the season 2 finale, everyone’s been speculating about how Nate is going to end up betraying Richmond, a la Lando Calrissian. There’s also been a lot of speculation that someone is going to leave the coaching team. Nate’s the most likely choice for this, however, given that Empire has Luke leaving his own team at the end of the film, I do suspect it’s going to be Ted leaving Richmond and the first couple of episodes of s3 will be bringing him back to the fold - after all, Ted’s the hero, and him leaving would hit us the hardest.
I do think his leaving - on top of his already-struggling state - will be spurred by Nate’s actions, but it’s difficult to predict what those will be. People have suggested leaking Sam/Rebecca to the press, but I struggle to see the logic in that - one thing that’s been emphasised in interviews is Nate’s furious devotion to Richmond and his desire to see them succeed at all costs, and at this point I just don’t see how leaking that story would benefit Richmond at all. (Indeed, it would probably endanger Richmond by opening up a scenario where Sam left the club.)
Leaking Ted’s mental state to the press holds more water, if Nate thought his struggling management is endangering the team’s chances, but I’m not wholly convinced of this either. After all, Nate’s weakness this season hasn’t been underhanded sneakiness, but his rage. (Hi, parallels with what he told Roy: ‘that anger’s still there inside you, and I’m worried what it’ll do to you if you don’t let it out.’ Oof...)
Instead I think Nate’s temper might get the better of him once again and he will blow up at/about Ted: either in private or in front of journalists (we know he’s going to be a spokesman for the club now) and telling Ted he’s letting the club down, and this will be what pushes Ted to quit in episode 12. I also wonder if this will be a heat-of-the-moment my-God-what-have-I-done thing for Nate, leading to a Heel Realisation and a new redemption arc where season 3 has him trying to make it up to the team. (We know that this show likes to end seasons with hope for their characters rather than condemnation - hi Jamie - and if you want to draw parallels, Empire ends with Lando working to make amends, not with his betrayal. Certainly I think people calling Nate ‘unredeemable’ are way off base - this show doesn’t do unredeemable, not for people who are willing to put in the hard yards to be redeemed.)
Of course, we know this show likes to ruin us emotionally, and there might be some unpredictable moments that none of us see coming! In the meantime, I’m gonna be anxiously anticipating the next four episodes while rocking back and forth and hugging my knees.
