As soon as your hand touches Solomon’s head he lets out a pleased little hum, that sounds an awful lot like he’s purring and smiles softly.

He’ll even tilt his head and push against your hand so you have to keep patting his head or run your fingers through his hair.

not to get too political, i feel like the whole "respectability politics" thing was heavily embraced and expected of angels considering the symbolism of their existence, and it was probably pushed even more so among angels of color like mammon, simeon, and raphael

mammon falling from grace allowed him to not have to live up to the celestial realms rigid respectability politics. yes, he still has to maintain some sort of professional front considering his status in the devildom, but he's able to be prideful in who he is and how he acts without anyone breathing down his neck for speaking or presenting himself in a certain way

Anon request: Could I request headcanons for Diavolo, Barbatos, Solomon, and Simeon react to shy gn crush confessing to him nervously?

A/N: I made this so the Dateables were already crushing on the reader for a while, but it's the reader who confesses. Once again, Simeon gave me no inspiration and yet his section was the one I enjoyed the most

.

Diavolo

He’s used to loneliness and sacrifices, dedicating his limited free time to a small inner circle that he’s unable to expand. The rest of his devotions goes to his dreams and his duties, and that includes, above many other things, the student exchange program.

The only human he personally knows is Solomon and everybody is aware of the sorcerer’s peculiar personality, so he’s quick to accept that you’re going to be different from everything he’s ever known.

He just didn’t know how much.

You build a friendship with him, treating him without inhibitions while still respecting him. You accept and join his childish whims, ask for his advice in more serious matters and speak your mind without fear.

You make him feel normal, helping his love for you grow slow but steady over a strong foundation.

But then your behaviour around him changes and he feels completely lost. There’s a sort of restraint he’s never seen in you, your recent silence and your avoidance to look at him in the eye making him wonder in hurt if you finally know enough about him to be afraid.

Diavolo feels his heart sink when you ask to speak to him in private and he’s willing to accept he has lost you.

How wrong he is.

Your confession leaves him speechless, but the more you talk with a stammer while twisting your fingers, the more he feels his cheeks blush.

He doesn’t confess back. He directly asks you out on a date.

Barbatos

His duty to the Young Master doesn’t feel like a sacrifice to him. It’s an honour he’s glad to act in, so, although he likes to keep some free time for his private life, Barbatos is more than happy to set Lord Diavolo above everything else.

He doesn’t pay you much attention at first, given that there’s little to no connexion between you two. In fact, the first few times you hang out together outside official matters it’s always organized by someone else, mainly Luke.

The young angel enjoys baking and even his prejudices decrease upon the demon’s talents in the kitchen.

He also enjoys spending time with MC.

So he combines both of those things. That’s how Barbatos gets to know you better.

He revels in the discovery of your resilience and your kindness despite what surrounds you. Your smile while measuring ingredients with Luke, your attentiveness at his teaching.

He knows Lord Diavolo appreciates him and thanks his presence, but you’re the first one to treat him so… highly? You admire him, you hear him, you seek him.

His busy mind and busy schedule give him almost no time to ruminate his feelings, but he can’t run away for much longer.

It’s around the same time he finally accepts his need to be with you that you start to fidget around him. He sees you looking at him under your lashes, timidly smiling and looking at him when you think he isn’t paying attention.

Your feelings are obvious to him, but he lets himself enjoy the situation for as long as possible. It’s too adorable to let go.

When you finally gather the courage you need to confess and it’s his turn to be sincere, his words are worth more than a hundred romance books.

Solomon

At the beginning, his interest in you is entirely academic. A regular human living amongst the most powerful demons of the Devildom? Now, that is something worth his while!

Witnessing first-hand how your humanity is put to the test on the daily is fun at first, but then again… You still have humanity. Once lost, it wouldn’t come back.

He ultimately decides to side with you. It makes him feel a little better too.

Although you both have a cordial relationship, barely a friendship, he isn’t your priority. To be fair, you aren’t his either, so he can’t complain.

But then time passes and his infatuation starts to grow.

You remind him of better things. Those he lost long time ago and those he knows he’s incapable of reaching. You make him want to be better, to try and to be someone that you could be prouder of.

He uses his vast knowledge to compete for your attention. His stories and his studies, his vulnerability slowly showing to you. It’s difficult, but you’re worth it.

He knows it’s working when you go out of your way to spend time with him, a difficult task when half of your roommates, if not all of them, don’t trust him at all. That makes him elated, but insecure at the same time.

He doesn’t know how to move things forward without spoiling them, so he waits until you make the first move. When the moment comes, he forces himself to memorize every second of it.

Solomon doesn’t want to forget your timid expression or the way you can’t decide what to say to put your feelings on display. He doesn’t want to forget the wide smile you show when he reciprocates your affections.

Simeon

He cares for you since the beginning, even before forming a friendship. It’s in his nature to be kind and caring and he can’t help but to act on it with you.

Your personality immediately draws him closer. How positive you are despite your situation as well as your determination to keep going forward, proving the demons wrong.

Simeon feels a strange satisfaction whenever Lucifer’s brow twitches at your misdeeds.

It’s thanks to Luke, who wants to keep two of his favourite people close, that he gets the chance to know you better.

He enjoys every occasion you visit Purgatory Hall. Sometimes you’re invited by Luke to help him cook, study or even make puzzles; and other times is Simeon himself who asks you to spend time with them.

The evenings you manage to have dinner with them are the most fulfilling for him.

He’s never felt a love so strong before, but he’s a world renounced writer and a romantic at heart, so the only thing he’s capable of doing in this situation is to pour his affections and hope for you to accept his heart.

The conclusion reaches an end when he manages to reset his DDD yet again.

Luke, although irritated at him, manages to call you before going to the castle to hung out with Barbatos, but Simeon doesn’t mind. More than that, he prefers it.

The sole idea of being alone with you brings warmth to his heart, after all.

He knows you feel the same too. Seeing the light in your eyes, the curve of your smile and the tenderness in your shy-filled whispers is enough for him to know.

You don’t even have time to confess on your own.

Simeon asks with a sweet voice if his interpretations of your feelings are correct. If they are, bless his heart, he feels the very same.

comforting you when you have a bad day — headcanons

⊹ word count: 100 words (ish)/character ⊹ content: sfw, reader/MC is referred to as you/your, fluffy comfort. ⊹ warnings: none. ⊹ a/n: I hope you enjoy these very self-indulgent headcanons. Sorry - no Mephisto, Raph, or Thirteen. I don't feel I know them enough to write them well!

LUCIFER He'll do whatever he can to make the rest of your day easier. If anyone knows how upsetting it is to have more things piling up on your to-do list when you're already having a rough day, it's Lucifer – so all of those little things that pop up, he'll take care of before you even notice. Solomon set the kitchen on fire? Dealt with before you even got a whiff of smoke. Leviathan summoned Lotan in the bathroom again? If anything, you noticed the bathtub was absolutely spotless when you went to wash up at the end of the day. It's almost unsettling how smoothly the rest of the day goes. And just before you go to sleep, your D.D.D. pings.

Luci: Goodnight, my love. Get some rest so tomorrow can get off to a better start.

MAMMON

He knows something is up immediately. You could be the most stoic person in the universe, but Mammon would feel the change in your mood. He's not the best at talking through feelings, so he does what he does best: he'll stay close. Expect lots of little loving touches, if you're into it – resting his hand on the small of your back when you're walking, tangling your fingers with his when you're sitting together, a random back hug, a little peck on your cheek. He'll be blushing for the rest of the day. And if you're not into it, he'll just physically stay close to you. He'll also be extra protective - so help anyone that sours your mood further.

LEVIATHAN

Leviathan will distract you. He'll invite you to his room as soon as he's able to for an anime night or a gaming session or a manga reading party. He won't let you out of his sight (if he can!). He's very sensitive to shifts in your mood and behaviour, so he'll be sneaking little glances at you constantly so he can get a read on how you're feeling. If what you're doing together doesn't seem to help you feel better, he'll shift to something else. And if all of his usual tactics fail, he'll just ask you what would help. Levi isn't straightforward often, but when you're hurting, he'll work through his anxiety so he can do whatever helps you most.

SATAN

He'll be your shoulder to cry on, your listening ear, and your personal counselor, if you want and need all three. Satan knows how relieving it can be to just let it out, so if you need some comfort while you cry or scream or throw things around, he's your guy. He's also the best listener of the brothers, so if you're someone who needs to talk it out, he's there for that, too. And if you want some advice on whatever if troubling you, expect him to give you some very rational, carefully thought-out ideas on what to do. Like Levi, Satan would just ask you what you need and be that for you to the best of his ability.

ASMODEUS

Asmodeus has an emergency care kit prepared for you for days like this. Whatever you're usually up for along the lines of “self-care”, he'll have them pre-packed in a cute little box for you. Face masks, bath bombs, some good books or journals, your favourite songs or movies, a mani/pedi set – whatever you need to unwind, he's got it. If you want him around to relax together, he's got two fluffy bathrobes and sets of cosy pajamas ready to go. If you'd rather relax on your own, he'll drop off your care package at your door with a loving note tucked under the ribbon on the lid. It breaks his heart to see you sad and he hopes this little gesture of love helps you feel better.

BEELZEBUB

Like Lucifer, Beel just wants to make your day easier, but he'll be more upfront about it. He wants to make it obvious that he cares about you. With your permission, he'll carry your books and bag between classes or on the way home for you. He'll offer to take on your chores for the day. He'll run those pesky errands for you. He'll even help you with your homework if that would be helpful! Of course, you can also expect lots of snacks offered to you and meals brought to you. Would he peel an orange for you? Without a doubt. Beelzebub doesn't want your health taking a hit because of a really tough day, so he'll offer to help you take care of yourself.

BELPHEGOR

Belphegor knows that sometimes the best way to feel better after an exceptionally tough day is to have a really good sleep. He'll set up the most luxurious, plush nap nook you've ever seen just for you (and maybe him, too, if you're okay with having a nap together). All his favourite pillows and blankets and plushies are carefully arranged for maximum comfort. If you want, he'll cuddle you until you fall asleep, softly stroking your back to help you along. And if sleep continues to evade you, he'll make you a soothing tea or read you a book or even give you a gentle massage to encourage your body to rest.

DIAVOLO

You have had a huge impact on the Seven Lords, and on the Devildom as a whole, so it both hurts and concerns Diavolo to see you feeling low. Though he has an exceptionally busy schedule, Diavolo would make time so you can spend time together. While you're together, Dia will do whatever he can to make you smile or laugh, using his bright, jovial personality to its fullest. You can also expect a ton of reassurance and praise – he'll offer you little affirmations about how amazing you are and how much you mean to all of them (to him, especially).

BARBATOS

Barbatos is an expert in care by nature of his work, so he is the most equipped to care for you on your toughest days. He'll have whatever you need in less than the time it takes to exhale. He'll be extra attentive to you around routines, like getting ready for school or work or winding down for the day. Need help tidying your hair before you leave? Barbatos is an expert in hair care, step into his home salon. Don't have the energy to make a lunch? No worries, he's already packed one for you and dinner will be waiting for you when you get home. He may be the best masseuse in the universe, too, so if you're up for it, he'll give you a full body massage before you go to sleep.

SIMEON

Out of everyone, Simeon will be the most distressed by you having a hard day, but (other than maybe Satan) he'll be the most calm when trying to help you feel better. His presence is naturally soothing, so just having him around is enough to lift your mood a little. He'll stay close for as long as you want. Simeon is an ask, don't assume kind of person – he doesn't want to do things he thinks you'll find helpful and overstep. Instead, he waits for you to directly ask for help and watches you closely for non-verbal indicators of things he can do that he knows you'll appreciate.

SOLOMON

Solomon has a hard time sorting out his own emotions and recognizes he may not be the best to help you sort out yours, but he wants to help somehow. So, he drops little gifts for you. That pastry you were eyeing the other day at the bakery is waiting for you on your desk with a cute doodle on a sticky note beside it. A paper airplane lands on your desk and it unfolds into a sweet love note (bonus laugh when you watch Sol getting scolded by your professor). The newest book from your favourite Human World author is wrapped up (badly) and tucked under your pillow. He just wants you to know he's always thinking of you.

"Barbatos, please, we'll get caught here" Simeon uttered, being sat on a mahogany wood table while the demon kissed his jawline.

"Most everyone is gone, except for Diavolo and Lucifer, and they're in a separate portion of the school. Plus, its not like we'll be having s-" A hand pushed to his mouth.

"Ok, yes, Barbatos, I get it" Simeon uttered with a small smile, blushing when Barbatos licked his fingers, using that utterly perfect forked tongue. "I-" He faltered his breath.

"You what, darling?" Barbatos asked, pulling him into a hungry kiss. The angel whined out a form of resignation, feeling a hand massage at the small of his back, while his tongue was eagerly dancing with the demons. A bit of drool smeared around Simeon's lips, but neither could care.

Mammon, oh poor unfortunate Mammon, opened the door to the council room to grab his journal only to immediately freeze at the sight. He quickly left after a good 10 seconds of viewing, almost running into his older brother.

"Mammon" Lucifer uttered, Diavolo behind him.

"Oh ya apology accepted for almost bumping into me" Mammon rolled his eyes, but his brother was clearly serious, and so was Diavolo.

"I trust that sight will not be leaving your mouth?" Diavolo asked.

"Right, Mammon?" Lucifer smiled, causing the second eldest to shiver ever in the slightest.

"Right, right, right" Mammon uttered, squirming past the two older demons while they chuckled.

"Hey, lovebirds" Diavolo said, knocking on the door and looking at the two sloppily dressed being in front of him.

"Maybe make out somewhere else?" Lucifer added, causing a small laughter to ring about all four men.

"Right, our bad" Simeon uttered, adjusting his robes and getting up.

MC Moves on in the Human Realm (Req) - Dateables

Diavolo: Diavolo is surprised and that confuses him. He knew of course that there was a chance you would find someone when you went back home to the human realm but he’s still surprised you managed to find someone that you seem to love so deeply. In the back of his mind, Diavolo always thought you would be back. From the very beginning, it has felt like you were meant to be a part of the Devildom, a part of his life. He’s had a lot of training on how to control his feelings so you won’t know how upset he is about this. Lucifer and Barbatos can both tell because he tends to get lost in own thoughts a lot and Diavolo is haunted by the “what-ifs?” of what could have been if you’d kept you down there with him.

Barbatos: Barbatos knew this was coming. He knows everything - he’s seen your past, present, and future. He always knew that you were going to go home and, even without his powers, he would expect someone as wonderful as you to find someone and find happiness. It’s what you deserve after all. However, Barbatos also knows that you’ll be back and he’ll have you again, in one way or another. This knowledge gives him peace of mind and enables him to even find happiness for your happiness. You can enjoy this stage of your life for now; your path will always lead back to him in the end.

Solomon: Solomon has accepted your finding a new lover the best out of everyone. He’s thousands of years old and is a human himself. Do you know how many people he’s loved and lost? How many he never even let himself have at all to avoid a situation like this? It’s countless. He loves you. He will always love you - forever - because that’s how long he has to love. It’s why he’s genuinely happy you’ve found a mortal human to pour all of your love into; you two can live perfectly normal, natural lives together and enjoy your limited time together. Maybe he’ll find you in the next life time but, until then, he’s supporting you from a distance.

Simeon: Simeon wants to be happy for you. He should be good and patient and generous but really he’s feeling incredible jealousy and anger. He hates seeing you give anyone else your smiles or for someone else to have their hands on you. He spends every day praying for grace for this situation, trying to get back to the angel he knows he is. He should be better than this and he tries every day to be the good angel/man that you’ve always believed he was. He wants to be that person for you, even if you’re not around to see it. He does want you to be happy and he tells himself that every time a negative feeling pops up - besides, you’re a human. Mortal. Unattainable. For now. He’ll be looking for you when the time comes though, to remind you of what you’ve been missing.

WARNING!!! NIGHTBRINGER SPOILERS!!!!!

LESSON 37-Lucifer’s Arc.

I wanted something that would convey the amount of emotions coursing through me during this arc of Nightbringer. Having to see the love of your life in such a state of agony that he would even turn on you is honestly one of the most painful feelings in the world. It hurts...and even though he apologizes afterwards...it doesn’t remove the feeling of hurt and sadness, at least not for me. Going through this lesson was hard, not only seeing him get to such an agonizing state but that he didn’t even care. In his rage he was quick to turn on the only person he loves besides his brothers. I would have died if I hadn’t pulled myself up out of that ice crevice that opened up due to his careless rage. 😮‍💨 Or if I had chosen to give up and die, Diavolo would of pulled me up before I fell... (Of course) but what if neither had happened? The reality of it is...once Lucifer’s fog of rage had cleared and he realized MC (in my case, me, Lya) was dead...because of him...what would he have done? 😮‍💨😮‍💨

Solomon would have gone on a rampage, Lucifer’s brothers, I don’t even know what would of happened with them...Lucifer himself...? The angels? The fact that the future would have changed even more drastically since we aren’t even from this time period to begin with!!!!! AHH!!! 😮‍💨

So, how are you gonna make THIS up to me, Luci?! 😔 I still love you but you’re such a prick!! And yes I’m still mad even after all this time. I just needed to get that off my chest. Yes I’m also still a simp for him. I can’t love anybody else but him. I still chose to hug and kiss him and ignore his brothers calling for me even though I was pissed off. 😮‍💨 The things you do for love. 😌
