Everything seemed to line up just about perfectly for this soft moment. Wine, sweets, a perfect little space to hold someone and be held in turn. He had been working hard to make sure his golden friend had a place to come to just relax, to get away from the world and just talk to someone and this time round it ended up with rutaci with his head in ashoals lap, his long fingers gently running through the golds hair as they just sat and talked.
Ashoal pulled up enough to reach over and take a sip of his wine as ruta watched his movements. a gentle hand came up and pulled the cerulean back to their comfortable silence, ash having sat his glass down with a sweet smile and a hum. He leaned into the hand lightly as a soft purr started in his chest.
A few heartbeats later, ashoal was gifted a kiss. He hardly had time to realize that the kiss had actually happened before Rutaci had pulled away and grabbed his goblet, leaving ashoal alone with a soft tingle on his lips.
The cerulean reached up and lightly ran his fingers over his lips as he watched ruta step out of their little spot. Rutaci had kissed him. The gold had kissed him, something he had wanted for so long.
Ashoal stood up and grabbed his own cup to follow behind before deciding to just leave the half empty glass on the glass table on the stage just outside as he passed by.
"Ruta?" he called softly, shorter legs causing him to fall behind as he followed rutaci to the kitchen.

In fact, he’s lost. Very lost. He just wants to go home and is getting scared of everything around him because he doesn’t know what’s going on. But! But he’s found an (admittedly also terrifying) castle or keep or whatever they’re called that all the ghosts avoid!
It never exactly enters his mind that they might have been avoiding such a place for a reason.
In unrelated news, the first thing Fright Knight sees after his sword was (accidentally) knocked free from its prison is not a blob ghost- they’ve done it a few times over the eternities- but a ghostling. A newborn ghostling, who promptly bursts into tears to his genuine horror. What did he do?!
