"don't mention it." / grant & nicklas / @thewholecrew
he's doing his nightly rounds. a sweep around the block, carefully watching any one who lingers a little to close to kassy's apartment building. ever since kassy told him about what was happening, he'd started doing this. sometimes he went up and stayed with her. other times, he sits in the cafe, sits in a vehicle, anything to keep an eye on kassy. which...in hindsight, is probably exactly what lands him in these tight cuffs. "i do know my rights." nicklas reminds the camera pointed at him as he sits in the interogation room. still cuffed, despite not being a threat. it turns out, you don't get a lot of chances with a record like his. assaults. reckless endangerment. public intoxication. gun charges that never stick but are recorded. his affiliates and gang leather do nothing to help him and when the police add in that there's a witness...a person who backs up these bogus claims that he's been stalking miss kasandra harwell, plus apparently a failure to appear in court hanging over him...there's not a whole lot he can do but make a phone call.
nick's already gone around and around with the arresting officer who'd caught him outside the apartment. yeah, he knows, it doesn't look good on his part but even the detective is hard of hearing. or at least he'd rather write up his report and say he's done a job well done. all while kassy's still in trouble. in danger even more so because the only person nick can see making these claims...are the one the cops should really be looking at. finally, once the detective comes back with a smirk too wide on his features nick knows what's about to happen. he'll get a phone call sure. but then he's off to processing because they wanna book him.
"grant, oh man, i have never been so happy to hear your voice, you on your way to the club?" he asked, although he doesn't leave grant any room to answer, because by now, even if he'd been held up in his happy land with octavia, the man should be on his damn way to meet nick for their drink. "course you are, anyway, listen, i'm not going to be meetin' you for that beer after all...cops arrested me outside kassy's apartment." as he says the words, it sounds ridiculous to him, as he's sure it does to grant, which is all but confirmed when grant asks, what?
"shut up, ok, listen to me...if i'm in here, we're gettin' close, that's gotta be it, we're poking at the right place...somewhere with this bastard. i need you to go check on kass, make sure she's okay, that nothing happens to her." me? nick do you hear yourse--
"grant. please. check on her and make sure she's okay, keep checking until i get out of this place, they're goin' to try to hold me on some bogus shit while they try to make their case for this...but i need to know you've got her..." the automative voice that lets them know there is one minute remaining in his call comes through causing a panic to rise inside of him. "grant, nothing happens to her. tell me you've got her. after all the shit we've put her through..." i've got her, nick, don't mention it. there's a short breath of relief as he nods his head, grip tightening on the phone. "good. that's good. hey wait, you were my call so get the lawyer-..." the phone clicked as a frown set across his features.

Will Zoro leave Luffy after they achieve their dreams? Not likely
Saying Zoro's gonna voluntarily leave Luffy at the end of OP so he can "live his own life" (i.e. get married, open a dojo, hang out in bars) is so wild to me. That's like saying Luffy's gonna give up adventuring so he can sit around and gorge himself on meat
First of all, it ignores that Zoro genuinely enjoys traveling with Luffy. Luffy (who's always getting into trouble) gives Zoro the chance to be his best self. And Zoro (who very much wants to be his best self) will always seize that chance with both hands
Second, both characters are like...the poster children of wanting to have their cake and eat it too. If you're Luffy or Zoro, you rarely need to make either/or choices. That's what makes them unique. It's why they've both got conqueror's haki! Basically: If Zoro wants to drink until he blacks out? If he wants to nap all day? Hell, if he wants to get lost in a paper bag?? He is like a big cat. He will do what he wants, wherever he is. He doesn't need to leave Luffy to get those things LOL
Third, Luffy's made it clear the Pirate King needs no less than the Greatest Swordsman by his side. Why would that suddenly stop once they've both achieved their dreams? Is Luffy going to quit being Pirate King? Why would he? Luffy wants to be the most free in the world, so he can live the life he wants...with the people he wants to live it with
In other words, Luffy isn't letting Zoro go without a fight — not unless Luffy genuinely feels he's no longer the type of man Zoro would want to travel with. And wouldn't that be the worst ending for both of them?

Something something thinking about how much the Trawlerman loves Carpenter versus Faulkner proclaiming himself as a prophet of the river. How important it is that the Trawlerman answered both their prayers in the season 1 finale (Faulkner's "swift currents to guide us home" by letting him return back to the faith; Carpenter's "an ending" by leading her to Acantha and the Cairn Maiden, literally a garden of the End). Thinking about the Trawlerman saving Carpenter in 3x1 without caring for who got hurt in the process, how the Trawlerman very specifically has two faces, one that Devours, one that Returns. How important it is to the story that the Trawlerman loves both Carpenter AND Faulkner. AND LISTEN. What I'm saying is. If the Katabasians are plotting Faulkner's death, I can't help but wonder if the Trawlerman will save Faulkner like he saved Carpenter in 3x1 since the two are ultimately two sides of the same coin... do you see my vision. Do you see my visi---

…thinking about alien abductions, alien parasites, possession, mind and body control, telepathy, hypnosis, the completely helplessness of being taken control over by something far more powerful and otherworldly than you, the vulnerability of knowing they can do whatever they want to you and you’re helpless against it, them being able to read your thoughts and communicate through your mind, the fear that comes with it all, and the fact i desperately need ocs like this or i may explode

Shadow Petals
"When was the last time you actually got some rest?" -- @hua-cheng-silver-wrath -- Hua Cheng -- Lack of Sleep Starters
Three days. Three nights. That was how long it had been since the daoshi arrived in the village after hearing whispers of a mysterious illness afflicting its residents; an illness that did not appear abated by most medicines, but the daoshi seemed to at least know of a concoction capable of staving the effects, stopping the illness from worsening those infected. During the day, the windows were boarded yet he continued to work by the golden light of a single lantern at his table; but in the evening, the windows were open to allow the silvery glow of the moon and stars to shine on his workspace as he mixed and measured and stirred. To most, he appeared to be working tirelessly in the medicine house, at all hours of the night. Including this one. People had come in and out of the medicine house quite frequently...during the day. At night, however, it had generally been very quiet as the majority of the village slept. But not this person, it seemed. The sound of the voice--and more importantly, the ripples of that presence--warranted a lift of Yin Jiyang's head in acknowledgement of the visitor, though he did not look away from his work.
"...I am resting..." he softly replied as he continued to grind the dried herbs with the pestle, the sound quiet against the stone of the bowl and blending with the hauntingly ethereal quality of his void. "...this is therapeutic..."

Hello
What’s the best episode of fraggle rock in your opinion?
Hi!!!!!!
So sorry, I have no idea how long this AAM has been sitting in my inbox!
Hmmmm… there are a ton of them that I rank in my personal favorites, and I could answer this according to that list, or from an objective angle based on overall writing and thematic traits.
Objectively, I’d say the best episode is “Change of Address”, as it’s the full circle moment that the series has been building up to- not to mention that I get CHILLS every time “Magic be With You” starts playing in that haunting choral arrangement. It’s impacted me so much, and maybe it sounds odd to anyone else, but it was the song I sung to my newborn niece to soothe her the first time I met her, and it worked. Overall if’s just a beautiful episode, and I’m always teary afterwards.
Other strong contenders based on objective reasons are “The Day the Music Died”, “Gone But Not Forgotten”, and possibly “River of Life” (?). I give RoL a hesitant nod because it’s so somber that I’ve only been able to watch it twice- and I’ve seen the entire series otherwise so many times I couldn’t even guess, maybe upwards of 30-40 full views? Probably more, honestly, since it’s been my favorite companion since I was a tiny kid.
In terms of my favorites though, I have a long list! It doesn’t have huge overbearing weight in the story, but “Capture the Moon” has always been one of my biggest comfort episodes, as have “Boober’s Dream”, “Red’s Blue Dragon”, and “Wembley’s Flight”. Oh, and “A Brush with Jealousy”!! Man, the song from that one… “show me the light in a butterfly’s eye/and show me the dreams of the earth and the sky”… ahh.. so pretty.. I just feel refreshed upon hearing it. :)
Capture the Moon is where the foundation for my two main Fraggle OCs comes from (and weirdly enough, I came up with them due to a very specific Fraggle dream I had as a little kid, so that’s probably why they’re so dear to me! Hah!)
I also (hot take, I know!) do have a couple episodes I don’t actually care for that much. Of course, I love them all, but I do definitely have some least favorites. (I have never really liked “The Great Radish Famine”. I can’t place why, but it’s 1000% near the bottom of my list, LOL!)
Anyway, you asked a short question, and I totally blathered on for way too long! I’m not sure if I gave a very satisfactory answer 😅 I do suppose I could be more specific and take a more analytical approach if you’d like!! There are several ways to answer this specific question, HAH! Please feel free to ask more!!!! :0
