The way Buck and Eddie can reach to each other's most vulnerable parts. It just takes one glance, one touch, one sentence and they are grounded back into reality. A reality that is not what their minds have conjured up and pulling them down with it.
But it's a reality where they know they need to face the very big very real emotions but it's okay because they have each other.
Just. The gentleness of Buck and Eddie. They give each other the tenderness, the love, the benefit of doubt that they never had the privilege to experience their whole life. But they looked at each other and went "you. you deserve everything I can give to you. please let me help you believe that."

No one ever talks about how hard it is to trust yourself if you’ve been through trauma or are mentally ill. Not trusting others is a common assumption but what about not trusting your own mind. Not knowing which thoughts to believe. Not trusting that you will be able to go somewhere and not have a panic attack or ptsd episode or be triggered in general. Not trusting your actions because they’ve always been critiqued etc. Not trusting yourself is a new kind of hell that no one should have to experience.
