A poem by Michael Hofmann
Night
It's all right
Unless you're either lonely or under attack.
That strange effortful
Repositioning of yourself. Laundry, shopping,
Hours, the telephone—unless misinformed—
Only ever ringing for you, if it ever does.
The night—yours to decide,
Among drink, or books, or lying there.
On your back, or curled up.
An embarrassment of poverty.
Michael Hofmann

Ash-Hiccups: on ‘Porcelain’ (2005) by Durs Grünbein

For a writer who has published over 30 books of poetry and prose in his native Germany, we have…

who would you fancast for teenage Erik and Charles?? Xx
This is really a difficult question. I had never thought about this since I always imagined young Erik and Charles as young James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender, but if I had to decide He (Louis Hofmann) would be Erik and I'm sorry about Charles but I can't imagine anyone else otherwise young James.
