Pre-relationship 4-6 for the Mario Bros.! (Or your favorite of those questions if you only want one haha)
Yes!!! More Mario Bros ramble!!! Blessed!! Thankyou!!
Tumblr media
4. Who felt romantic feelings first?
Hard to say, sense they've always been like this. There's not a specific moment either of them could go back to and say when they fell in love, they've always loved eachother, you know?
Though Luigi was the first to recognize these feelings as romantic, and different than how he loved, say, their mom and dad, and that that was something important. Mario didn't think it mattered what kind of love they had, their mama had taught them Love is Love, so what does it matter, right?
This happened when they were like 7.
5. Did either of them try to resist their feelings?
Maybe not quiet resist, but Mario did consider it for a while.
Around middle school-ish age, 12 or 13, their mom sat the brothers down to explain the difference between Familial and Romantic love, and why that difference was important, kind of assuming they didn't really know the difference in their emotions yet.
The whole thing made Mario feel awful. He'd made his mother worry, his father angry, and worst of all he, the older brother, put Luigi on the line for his own selfish reasoning.
The only reason he didn't fully withdrawal from Luigi and stew in an early sea of self deprecation was Luigi rubbing it in Mario's face that he was right, that the love he has for Mario and the love he has for the rest of their family is different. He did an "I Told You So" dance and everything. He was right and Mario was wrong ha ha ha ha ha!
So yeah. Mario considered resisting his feelings for all of about 20 minutes before Luigi snapped him out of it, and reminded him why that would simply never work. Not for them.
6. If you had told one of them that the other would be their soulmate, what would they think?
Mario doesn't believe in soulmates, he's a simple guy and not all that romantic in the grand scheme sense. Luigi on the other hand is all about Cosmic Connection and the "Over and Over again, life after life, I will find you, and I fall in love with you again and again" kind of cheesy nonsense. He'd be over the moon about it.

Can you imagine if the Mario bros from the movie met with their game counterparts?
There’s so much potential there, if they are so similar but so different: take Mario who has grown up in Brooklyn, never felt like he was making a difference, and JUST discovered a magical world where he belongs, compared to Mario who has grown up in the mushroom kingdom, is a world wide hero doing enough feats of talent to show that he lives up to the fame in a week, and has live as a hero his whole life
Plus there’s different mechanics and story lines, imagine if one of the game Mario bros die but come back with an extra life and just act like it’s normal, what if they swap universes for a day and you have a new inexperienced Mario meets classic characters and a experienced Mario meeting a Peach who had to fill his role as the jack of all trades
I thought this was a really cool obvious idea but I haven’t seen anyone else’s take on it
It's funny you should bring it up! Because even though I've never written it down (and probably will never write it down) I've thought about a situation where Movie Mario and Game Mario suddenly switch places due to some interdimentional fluke or magic gone awry.
Both Marios are extremely confused, but they are both communicative about what happened and how– though they are Mario– something's gone wrong, and their life is suddenly very different from what they remember. Both Luigis and Peaches help out however they can. They eventually succeed in piecing together what happened, and start forming a plan to undo the weird dimensional change and get their own Marios back.
Some possible scenes that live in my head rent-free:
Game Luigi is surprised to find himself the voice of experience for once, helping this alternate version of his big brother understand the mechanics of this new world. Game Luigi regales him with stories of all the foes they faced over the years, and Movie Mario is fascinated, amazed, and a little intimidated by it all.
Game Mario suggests he and Movie Luigi stock up on "1-ups" before they enter a dangerous situation. Movie Luigi asks "what's a 1-up?" Game Mario thinks he's joking. Movie Luigi is not joking. Game Mario realizes the situation is far more dire than he thought.
Game Mario having dinner with Movie Mario's family
The moment Movie Mario lays eyes on Game Bowser he is completely on edge. His fists are raised and he's ready to throw down, already motioning for Game Luigi to get behind him. Game Bowser very quickly decides he likes this version of Mario– a little temperamental and rightfully fearful of him. The feeling isn't mutual.
Game Mario is startled by exactly how ruthless Movie Bowser is, and how risky fighting him is now that there are no extra lives involved. He doesn't like to show it, but he's more scared than he's ever been before. Luigi sees the fear despite Mario's attempts to conceal it, and takes a moment to comfort him.
The moment anyone is the least bit mean or condescending to Game Luigi, Movie Mario is on their case. Whether it's an enemy, a toad, or a royal representative, he makes it crystal clear that nobody is allowed to talk to Luigi like that– he doesn't care technically isn't his Luigi. Game Luigi tries to assure Movie Mario that it's fine, but Movie Mario won't hear it.
Game Mario is not quite sure what to make of Movie Peach. Of course he's protective and respectful as always, but the fact that she's so fiercely independent and an incredible fighter is not something he knows what to do with. He's been protecting her for so long...
Game Bowser and Movie Bowser would like each other at first. Then, the longer they talk, the more they rub each-other the wrong way, until eventually they're throwing fists and fire balls.

tell us about yunobo
why's he ur funky lil guy
id love to hear why
This is a very good ask I don’t think I’ve ever actually told anyone why I like Yunobo so much
Preemptive spoiler alert for both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom by the way
(Also this turned into a bit of a character analysis on Yunobo I’m so sorry it’s so ridiculously long lmao)
Personally my favorite Zelda “race” or whatever has always been gorons, huge fellas who mine rocks and eat rocks and are rocks, just big ol walking boulders with kind souls, I think they’re very silly and cute. But I really like Yunobo because he’s not really like any of the other gorons (He’s not like other girls!!), because he’s so much more… emotional? I guess? In each of the Goron race’s appearances throughout the Zelda games they’re portrayed pretty much the same way, either tough and brave and heroic (Like Darunia, Daruk and Darmani), or chill and generally nonchalant (Like… pretty much every other goron). Though they are kind and playful, they’re also tough and unmoving as stone. Yunobo (on a surface level), is neither of these things. When you first meet him in BotW he runs and yelps in fear, and a great portion of the fan base calls him a coward because of this. He’s very unsure of himself, and unsure of a lot of things in general. In the artbook “Creating a Champion”, his description is as follows:
“Yunobo is the grandchild of the Champion Daruk. He has an adult body but still has some growing up to do. He is easily frightened by monsters and isn't exactly what one might call brave, but, driven by thoughts of protecting his people, he gathers enough courage to aid Link in quelling the Divine Beast Vah Rudania. He is earnest and naive, readily believing nearly anything anyone tells him.”
So yeah. He’s a scaredy-cat. He’s a pushover. He’s incredibly naive and a bit childish.
AND YET.
He helped save his people, and the entirety of Hyrule… TWICE. Because he is brave. Bravery is not an immediate heroic desire to face any danger for the sake of the greater good.
It is action in spite of fear.
He is afraid. He’s unsure, and he’s flighty, and he’s defensive. But he swallows these fears and chooses to act in spite of them, helping link to take back control of Vah Rudania, and saving his people. For me, seeing the journey Yunobo takes to find his courage is a lot more satisfying than if he were just already a brave go-getter from the moment you meet him.
And then things get even more interesting in the second game (again, spoilers for TotK ahead).
After he helps Link take back Vah Rudania and Calamity Ganon is defeated, Yunobo goes right to helping his people recover from the the post-calamity craziness. He’s incredibly devoted to them. He’s a helper through and through, willing to do anything it takes for the sake of others. His loyalty knows absolutely no bounds. But unfortunately, this can get the better of him.
Like when his good friend “Zelda” shows up and gives him some weird mask and tells him to put it on.
Honestly, when I saw Yunobo for the first time in TotK, I was one of the many people who was terrified that Nintendo might have made him an asshole for no reason. I mean, they gave Sidon a wife so people would stop shipping him with Link, I wouldn’t put it past them (totally backfired though lol, now they’re just a polycule).
But instead they had actually put him into one of my favorite character tropes: self-conscious but good-natured character easily susceptible to corruption (See: Luigi [SPM], Bolin [TLoK], Locksley [AS:TNC] -they’re all also green for some reason? Crazy). I really like this particular trope because it shows the very real (and frankly scary) way that those with the best intentions can most easily be led astray. As someone who’s kinda struggled with having a people-pleaser personality (incredibly susceptible to peer-pressure, neglecting my own needs over the needs of others, not able to set boundaries, etc), this trope is a relatable cautionary tale for me. Those who just want to help more often than not end up helping those with bad intentions without realizing.
Buuuuut I won’t go too far into all that (it’ll get sad fast eugh)
My main point is that Yunobo is brave, kind, and loyal (even to a fault), and for me that’s a wonderful formula for a character as nervous and dopey as him. Yeah he’s got rocks for brains, but he’s got a heart as big as a lynel’s. I don’t throw this term around liberally but I would say he could definitely count as a himbo.
Ugggghhh this is getting too long ffs. I’ll just list a couple more reasons why he’s important to me specifically.
He is… very large. Ahem. I like big fellas. You know how it is. ANYWAY
He’s a bit dopey but he’s definitely not incompetent. He’s the president of a highly successful mining company and he’s helped save Goron City (and the entirety of Hyrule) TWICE. That’s pretty cool. I’ve seen a lot of people shit on him in the first game for “always getting spotted by the drones” but like. Dude that’s your fault. He told you he would come when called and stop when told to, it’s on you if he walks into a searchlight.
He’s got very intriguing lore (to me at least), that leaves a lot of room for speculation. Like, he’s the “grandson” of Daruk, but how does that work?? Gorons are born from the mountain itself, they don’t give birth. There’s a pair of Gorons in TotK that call themselves “brothers” (still a bit confusing since most gorons throughout the series call each other brother anyway), but they explain it was because they were born in the same cave at the same time, so they’re like family. Does this mean Yunobo was just born in the same cave Daruk was, and therefore inherited his “genes” and his magical abilities? Maybe! Maybe it’s a really cool special cave, right at the summit or something, where his whole lineage was born all the way back to the first sage of fire. Cool stuff to think about!
He’s not the leader of his people, in either game. That job belongs to Bludo. In the second game he’s definitely got a lot more influence and does occupy a position of leadership, but he’s not the chief. He’s just some Goron. The role of aiding link in both games is thrust onto him entirely because of his lineage. But he takes responsibility for it. He understands the power he holds, both as a champion’s descendant and as the Sage of Fire, and he steps up to the role. He feels a responsibility to his people and his city, even despite not being its official leader like the other champion’s descendants. That’s pretty cool.
He’s very sweet! I’ve talked about how kind and caring he is already but there’s a difference between doing it with a stoic sense of heroism or duty, and doing it with a big dopey grin and a genuine care for those he cares about. He’s often unsure and self-conscious, and yet he’s surprisingly optimistic about most things a lot of the time. He has a big smile (most gorons do), but he has an absolutely heart-melting laugh. I often tear up during the cutscene in which he sees the spirit of Daruk reclaiming Vah Rudania, him laughing and waving with such genuine joy and excitement, aghhhh it’s too much. Joe Hernandez certainly did a great job putting authenticity into Yunobo’s (and Daruk’s) emotions, this cutscene especially.
He has the best secret stone ability (gameplay wise). You cannot change my mind. Tulin is great for mobility and the other two are fine for tactical combat stuff, but none of them even come close to the versatility and power of Yunobo. Don’t have any good rock-breaking weapons and don’t want to use up bombs or zonai devices? Yunobo! Using a control stick-operated machine and can’t pull out your bow to snipe that pesky aerocuda? Yunobo! Wanna separate a big group of enemies from each other without wasting bombs? Yunobo! And don’t even get me started on the fact that when he’s on a vehicle, he’s got zero cooldown. You can hop on a hoverboard and decimate a molduga just by dribbling Yunobo on its head like a basketball.
All this being said I certainly think Yunobo is too often overlooked by fans for “being a coward”, or just… being a Goron? Gorons in general have often been a bit neglected in favor of the other more serious, conventionally attractive and *cough* slimmer *cough* Zelda races. It’s a bit disheartening seeing the amount of fan artists who don’t even have a clue how to approach drawing Yunobo or Daruk, simply because they don’t know how to draw bulky, fat or muscled characters. But I won’t preach too much on the subject, haha.
Long story short, I love Yunobo a whole lot and I’d love to give him a big hug and a smooch. That’s about it :))))
Also here’s a little sketch I made of him as a bonus for reading all that haha

This man treats you like a prized possession, not in a bad way, in a praising way.
He will brag to friends and even his dads army about how amazing you are.
You'll get to sit front and center next to his dad when you watch his fights.
He has a very discreet love language, he might brag about you but he's very distant. In an awkward way.
He'll call you names, but you know that just his way of saying he loves you, it's like his own version of "The moon is beautiful, isn't it?"
When he takes you out, it's almost always a picnic on the beach. He likes to show off his skills next to the water.
He also eats up anything you do, too. If you're showing him a new outfit, sometimes he'll be painfully honest, but other times, he'll be on his knees worshipping you.
His dad wasn't too keen on you at first, but over time, he began to enjoy your company.
You have multiple different karts, too, for fun, you and DK will customize different ones. One time, you made him give some of them away to younger Kong residents during the holiday season. He was against it, but on the inside, he loved how thoughtful you were.
You like to talk about the two of your futures together, DK acts like he's disgusting with getting married but in private he's already secretly planning your guys' wedding.
Because his dad has warmed up to you so much, he likes to watch you boss around his army. He thinks it's the funniest thing ever.
You like to smother his face in kisses before he goes into the ring, it's his good luck charm.
He may have a big "idgaf" attitude, but as soon as someone says something about it, it turns into a "igaf" attitude.
You comfort him a lot when his dad doesn't give him the recognition he deserves. You listen to every word and complaint he has.
He's a petty lil guy
Other than all of that, he's an amazing boyfriend who's would do anything for you even though he acts like he isn't whipped.

With all this festive season that has just come to an end, I came up with the thought of how Mario and Luigi would act when it comes to preparing and giving presents to each other 🤔
For example, as Christmas approaches, Luigi would start chasing Mario around asking, "What are you preparing for me? What are you going to give me? What is it?" and questions of that kind, always excited and eager, with a happy and curious smile on his face, and even making puppy eyes to try and get Mario to soften up and give in 🤭
But Mario would look at him with a very calm smile and reply, "I don't know, I forgot," and Luigi would despair. "What do you mean you forgot??? How could you forget about something you prepared yourself?" And Mario would stand his ground and insist, "I'm sorry, Luigi, my memory is terrible," even though inside he would be filled with tenderness and stifling laughter 🤭 Though not because of mockery, of course, but because of how adorable Luigi looks when he gets frustrated 🤭🥹
And when it's the other way around, Luigi would be the one wanting to give Mario some clue about his gift. "I have something for you!" he'd say in a singsong tone. "Santa Claus has already come and left something for you! There's a little surprise waiting for you!" Always crooning, always in a funny tone, always wanting Mario to play along so he can give him a clue, or even give it back to him with a "Oops, sorry, I just forgot." 🤭
But Mario, who knows him better than he knows himself, doesn't fall for it. Even if he's really curious inside, most of the time he purses his lips in a restrained smile and manages to take Luigi to his own territory with sentences like: "Oh, I saw him too and he gave me something for you," and then we'd be back to Luigi making his puppy eyes and begging Mario to reveal something, and Mario pretending that he's forgotten about it and trying not to burst out laughing 😂
Still, Mario loves his brother so much (as we all know) that sometimes, he stops holding back and does show his excitement for whatever surprise Luigi is planning for him! However, for Mario, the best, greatest gift is just seeing Luigi's happy face when Mario finally gives in and proves to be just as thrilled as Luigi 🥹
Of course, when the day arrives, Luigi is the one who's ELATED and eager about opening his present, because no matter what it is, it's a gift from his big brother! 🥹 And so it makes it the most important thing in the world, Luigi's new favorite thing from that moment on 🥹 Mario could give him a piece of loose slab and Luigi would treasure it as his most prized possession 💚❤
And although Luigi is the one who shouts and gets most excited and hugs his brother and jumps for joy, Mario is not far behind: he's also giddy to open his little brother's gift, and he also screams and squeezes Luigi while he hops in delight 🥹
So, even if their attitude is a little different in the days leading up to Christmas, when the time comes, they're both equally happy and excited to give a present to each other and to spend such a lovely moment together 🥹💚❤✨

If it becomes more than a dream, what do you think a Super Paper Mario movie would be like?
Please write down everything you have to say, it doesn't matter if it's a 100 page essay I would like to read it.
Tumblr media
When I finally get not only yapping permission, but also yapping endorsement
I think about the SPM movie a LOT. Not because I think it’s going to happen but because I’m insane. I also think it works better as a show, but I always must migrate to thinking of it as a movie lol. I talk a lot I’m gonna divide my thoughts into sections (Again, I’m turning off reblogs because reblogging an ask gets rid of the read-more, I’m sorry!! It’s for the best LMAO)
Rating:
I would LOVE if they addressed it like the FNAF movie. I remember people talking about how “oh it’s gonna be for kids because it’s a kid’s franchise and they’re gonna make more money if they made it for kids” but they made it PG-13 and. Everything was fine. They made a shit ton of money and everything was fine. Point is, I think SPM would work best as a PG-13 movie. And yeah it sounds like that one clip of SpongeBob and Patrick screaming in terror on a baby rollercoaster, but SPM does have elements that would be Difficult to put in a movie format and still make it rated PG. With the game, it can be passed off as cartoon mischief and thus be E for everyone, sure, but in a movie? I don’t see it. And let me clarify- I know they could make the hypothetical SPM movie be rated PG and still have its original plot, but I believe that is only if they cut down on a lot of things and make it very goofy and overall remove the heart of the story. But do I think it would be fucking PEAK as a PG-13 movie? Hell yeah. They could have a lot more leg-room to truly pay homage to the game, which is known as one of Mario’s darker stories for a good reason.
But do I believe they would make it PG-13? No. Definitely PG. Again, I know this is a Mario game and it’s not some super evil sick twisted story oh my god cover your eyes little timmy blah blah blah, but STILL. Pulling off some of its core scenes on the big screen where there’s SO much more detail in the animation and the voice acting etc etc etc would be hard to accomplish without making said scenes less impactful or even shallow. And if you still think I’m being dramatic, the mario movie is rated PG. The Mario movie. And all Mario did was get punched and got a bruise on his eye. I’m sure if there was a storyboard scene of him, Luigi, Bowser, and Peach getting set on fire and going to the afterlife, it would have been SCRAPPED. OR, it would have absolutely no emotion other than “erm… THAT just happened!” Take your pick.
All in all, if it were to happen, the SPM movie will lose some things. Nintendo would NEVER allow Mario to be in an PG-13 movie. It’s unfortunate :(
Speaking of the Afterlife:
Nintendo will have to cut out the Underwhere, Overthere, Grambi, and maybe even Luvbi and Bonechill. OR, completely revamp that whole thing to make it as religiously ambiguous as possible. No fucking doubt about it. At ALL. I can already see the change.org petition run by a Christian mother screaming at Nintendo for blaspheming God and making a joke out of heaven and hell “which are very real and you’re teaching kids it’s some silly fake thing in a fake Mario movie BUT NO PEOPLE HAS TO KNOW THEY WILL BURN FOREVER IF THEY DONT OBEY!!!” (Note: just in case it wasn’t obvious, I am mocking the Christian mother in the quotation marks). I’m surprised Nintendo even got away with it in the first place, ESPECIALLY regarding Luvbi and Bonechill. I put “maybe” regarding those two because it’s likely 2 and 2 won’t be put together about who inspired their characters, but at the same time. It probably will. Yeah it definitely will
Bonechill is directly inspired by Satan, and Luvbi makes indirect references to Jesus. Regarding Bonechill, to quote from his Wiki:
“Tippi's tattle says that Bonechill may have once been a Nimbi, which is supported by the fact that he has feathered wings on his back. This fits into the overall motif of The Underwhere and The Overthere, which draw heavily from both Ancient Greek mythology and the Christian religion. In particular, the concept of a fallen angel (Nimbi) is inspired by the Biblical story of Lucifer, who became the devil after betraying God. Furthermore, in Dante's Inferno (of the epic Italian poem, the Divine Comedy), Lucifer (now known as Satan) is depicted as a giant, six-winged beast imprisoned in ice in the deepest circle of Hell. This is all paralleled by how Bonechill has six wings, was imprisoned deep below the Underwhere, and is a self-styled "master of the cold dark" who uses ice breath to attack and is "something of an evil celebrity in certain circles of the Underwhere". Similarly, his being released during an apocalyptic event (the emergence of The Void) may be derived from the Book of Revelation, where Satan escapes from hell and he and his army are battled and defeated in heaven.”
Do you see that shit. Do you think Nintendo would risk doing this in a movie, let alone ever again in any game? The backlash would be INSANE. And they could easily call Luvbi a blasphemous mockery of Jesus because she sacrificed herself to save the world, AND CAME BACK LATER😭😭😭😭😭
Anyways, yeah. In the SPM movie, that whole chapter of the game is what’s going to be changed the most. It likely will be solely based off Greek mythology with no Christian themes involved. Or even LESS than that if they’re too scared. God I wish they weren’t. That chapter is one of my favorites in the whole game (mostly bc it’s crazy to me how Nintendo didn’t chicken out of making it), and it sucks so bad to know it’ll likely be almost nonexistent if the SPM movie were to happen.
Run-Time:
This game is. Long.
In my perfect world, I like to think of it as one big grand movie and it’s the longest animated movie ever made and it’s animated by Dreamworks in the style of Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and it has 5/5 stars and critics are crying and screaming of joy and everybody who clowned on this game has personally showed up to my door to apologize for their wrongdoing and beg for my forgiveness. But unfortunately we can’t have everything we want
I don’t think they will cut out any of the dimensions, I just think that most side plots will be rushed through like a montage :/ It’s why I think it will work best as a series. Every episode could be dedicated to a Dimensional Door. But that also means it’ll likely have less of a budget which sucks
Blumiere and Dimentio:
Something will have to change.
First of all, Blumiere. I don’t exactly know HOW, but they will have to change about his story. The game itself has already gotten criticized for “romanticizing a toxic relationship” between Blumiere and Timpani, and that criticism will be MAGNIFIED with a blockbuster film. Again, I don’t know how the will do it, but they’ll have to adjust that plot to please the masses more than likely. It fucking sucks. But this is modern Nintendo. They are going to go the safest route possible.
That’s not the only thing regarding Blumiere that will have change. Yk how the game also gets criticized for giving Blumiere a happy ending but not Dimentio despite the fact that, regardless of their motivations, they both tried to kill everyone? That criticism will also be magnified with the release of a movie. They’ll have to modify the story to make Blumiere’s actions significantly less evil than Dimentio’s, which could be accomplished through making it so that Blumiere is mind-controlled by the Dark Prognosticus. OR, they’ll have to give Dimentio a happy ending too, whether that be he survives and changes his ways (BOOOOO🍅🍅🍅), or he also gets the “he’s alive somewhere” treatment like Blumiere and Timpani did. However, in order to accomplish that successfully with an audience of five years olds, they’ll have to directly talk about Dimentio’s own tragic backstory with as much weight as they do Blumiere’s. And l. Don’t see that happening. It would be absolutely CRAZY if it did and I would probably pass out in the theatre if we got to see the Pixl Creator, but yeah, it’s unlikely.
Mr. L:
Some good news! I see them making Mr. L recognizable
They probably won’t.
BUT THEY LIKELY WILL
In the first movie, Mario and Luigi’s bond was shown in ways they have rarely done before. Their love and care for one another is clearly shown, not just “that’s my brother Luigi wahoo!” or something. I mean come on, think of the hug scene. And you mean to tell me in the 2nd or 3rd or idk movie, Mario can’t recognize him with a blindfold on? Be serious
In a game, yeah haha funny gag, but in a movie, it’ll be met with more annoyance than anything and it’ll be really disingenuous, and it already does get that criticism in the game where it’s arguably “more acceptable.”
Conclusion:
There’s a lot more that can be discussed, but this is all I’ve put a significant lot of thought into about what I think the SPM movie would be like if I thought about it realistically. Basically, if it’s gonna truly be an SPM movie, Nintendo’s gonna have to grow a backbone. But even then, I still think it would be a great movie, especially in the eyes of those who haven’t played the game and thus don’t have the same “ARGHH BUT YOU FORGOT FLIP-FOLK NUMBER FORTY TWO” mentality that I have LMAO. And even THEN, I still think it would be a great movie. Nintendo will just have to be reaaaally careful to adapt to the limitations (that they put on themselves 💀) and still make it a movie about Super Paper Mario.

I am in a major Wario’s Woods mood and mentioned I may write down my concepts of how I’d do a sequel fic and yep, doing just that now.
Not sure if I’ll ever pursue it, but I did want to at least muse a bit about how I’d imagine a follow-up. Trying to make it fit with how we know the characters now, while also adding things relevant to my interests.
One of the big concerns for it is how to justify Wario as the villain, since he has long stopped being a pure antagonist and the answer is quite simple:
Tumblr media
Rudy.
When Rudy returned in Dr. Mario 64, he was significantly shrunk and generally portrayed as more vulnerable than in Wario Land 3, down to catching a cold. This is where personal interpretation and headcanon come in, as I imagine him to have lost a lot of his power, following his defeat at Wario’s hands and naturally, he wants that back.
Naturally, there needs to be a reason the peaceful woods tie into this, so I imagine the Sprites of the forest guarding a treasure containing the power Rudy needs to restore himself to his old strength.
How to find it though? Wario. Making sure Wario learns of there being a treasure, he catches him off guard and brainwashes him to use his literal nose for treasure to uncover it. The brainwashing part being to ensure Wario in his greed doesn’t somehow accidentally set that power free in a way that puts it to waste.
To aid him and ensure that they are uninterrupted, he let’s Wario hire his old minions from both versions of Wario’s Woods:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Who I imagine as a WarioWare type company of misfits, only instead of making games, they’re goons for hire, for shady business, with Katsini as the head of the company. They note Wario seems odd compared to last time they saw him, but business is business.
So they invade the peaceful woods and imprison the sprites which, for some nice callbacks, include the elder and Alice from the Comic BonBon adaptations of Mario & Wario and Wario’s Woods.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One sprite gets away though and it’s the one who aided Toad in Woods. She is never identified as anything but a Sprite in the manual, however both KC Mario and Kun go with her being Wanda:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I go with that too, she even shares the same species name, so it checks out.
Wanda travels to the Mushroom Kingdom for help, however, Mario, Luigi and Peach are currently out to visit another kingdom, so the only one left for her to ask, that she knows, is Toad.
Tumblr media
She isn’t really worried though, given he helped her in the past and while timid about it, he agrees and the two head off. That said, they are followed by someone and anyone who knows me can imagine who that is:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yep, Kinoppe.
I just love her a lot and I like interpreting her as someone who was always around, just never seen, since she is more of a civilian that only accidentally gets involved in adventures, but this time joins in on purpose, excited to see her personal hero Toad in action.
She very much takes Birdo’s role, being a look-out for when Wario tries to mess with things, which thanks to Rudy’s involvement, can even be justified as something like magic, with Wario peeking in to see how the intruders are doing.
Much like Birdo with her encouraging words, Kinoppe also serves as emotional support.
A thing with Mario characters is that how they act can fluctuate depending on their role. Peach has had maaaaany very helpless depictions as a damsel, despite clearly being capable as many other games show as well, down to having her own adventures.
For this I characterize Toad as timid, but brave. Afraid, but ready to step up and do the right thing. That said he deals with insecurities and not knowing how to deal with the pressure of being seen as a hero. It’s nothing new to Mario, but for Toad, being the sole main hero and subject of Wanda’s belief in him and Kinoppe’s admiration of him, is something very foreign to him and he doesn’t know how to handle that yet.
Also gives an excuse for just a biiiit of teasing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s not something that ever comes up on the blog, since Wario to me isn’t the character or series for it, but I do have a lot of interest in romance and a more gentle character like Toad is a nice means to sprinkle a little of that in.
Anyways, the trio adventure through the woods with many shenanigans happening, using the locations from SNES Wario’s Woods like the mountain area as a base. Along the way they face off against the bosses, with the SNES opponents being moreso mooks, while the NES ones are the big bosses.
Eventually they make it to Wario, who has found the treasure and is acting highly strange, being a mix of his Land onward power-set and looking and acting more deranged, like in his Super Mario Land 2 debut.
After a hard battle, Wario is freed from his possession, but unfortunately, Rudy has gotten a hold of the treasure and restored his power, using it to turn all the Sprites, even Wanda, into monsters like in Land 3.
When all seems lost Toad and Wario team up to take down Rudy, with the latter being more than happy to get some payback and the two take him out, breaking the curse he tried to unleash again and sending him packing.
With that, the day is saved. Toad is a hero, Rudy is chased off by the Woods bosses and Wario sneaks off with the now depowered treasure and nobody minds, since he did nothing intentionally wrong this time and the reason for them to guard it is now gone.
That’s the basic gist of it. Not sure if I ever will make it a fic, but I do want to expand on it.
I considered several other characters for inclusion, particularly Waluigi, Birdo, Toadette and the Ware crew as other possible mind control victims, but figured I’d be better off avoiding cluttering the cast too much.

mayro and loogi movie 2023 let’s-a arrive
MOTHERFUCKIN UUHHHHH
MARIO BROS MOVIE THOUGHTS
it’s long, i talk about luigi a lot. and there are spoilers
THE NOT GREAT STUFF
not enough luigi
where was luigi in the whole like second act where WAS he
idk missed opportunity for some development while he was captured. he could’ve interacted more with the other prisoners. or kamek & bowser. i feel like kamek taunting him about how bowser’s gonna kill the hell out of mario or something would’ve raised the emotional stakes a bit, like instead of sitting there waiting to be rescued luigi could be wanting to rescue mario himself
he kinda just didn’t have any lines after getting captured, too....gimme something, movie.......he talked back to spike so easily, a little bit of defiance at some point would’ve been neat ;-;
i saw one brilliant take that was like, bowser should’ve kept luigi around and “consulted” him about who mario is, and they’d both get just the teensiest more development that way, with both airing out their own insecurities. bowser thinking (knowing) he’s not good enough for peach and luigi wanting to be more like the brother he’s always counting on
luigi making clear he wants to be brave for once->more impact when he shields mario at the end
i was hoping for a prison break i’m gonna be real
and don’t get me wrong i LOVE kidnapping stories but i HATE it when the kidnapped isn’t allowed to do anything. wish they’d given luigi more flexibility to at least TRY something instead of essentially throwing him aside, y’know?
idk man just more luigi.
also, pacing not good. pacing iffy. maybe bad
coming off the heels of the perfect pacing and flawless balancing of an ensemble that was puss in boots, i think moving some stuff around could’ve made room for my boy. they coulda done it.
specifically, the pacing was WAY too fast. i love when movies let emotions really sink in. luigi’s little flashback scene was really nice, more stuff like that pls
did peach ever even tell mario her name i forgot
NOT the bowser musical number i DREAMT of. hilarious af but i wanted A SONG. A BANGER. A 90′s DISNEY VILLAIN BOP
not a fan of the played out peach/bowser forced marriage stuff but it’s mario what are you gonna do
no luigi power-ups what’s up with that
the freaking illumination dog design threw me off so badly i was almost brought out of the mario immersion. i was thinking nothing could be bad enough to make me not excited to be sitting in that theater and then the fucking dog showed up. straight out of secret life of pets. it also should’ve been a scarier big dog. (his nod of approval at the end was good though 100/10)
and look mario’s a cutie pie, a sweetheart, wanna squish his lil cheeks, i loved him being ABSOLUTELY terrified of bowser when they met because who the fuck wouldn’t be, but in the end luigi is still so much more interesting to me 8′D
NO BOWSER JR. CAMEO?????
why the FUCK didn’t bowser and luigi kiss
THE GREAT STUFF
luigi
luigi’s voice
luigi’s pathetic little meeps and yelps and being so squishable
luigi & mario
mario & luigi
THEY WERE SO GODDAMN SWEET AND CUTE AND GOOD
mario tearing through the alleys like a beast and just. instinctively opening gates and leaving pathways for luigi. not in a “hurry up and pull your weight” kind of way, but like. a doting, considerate way that showed he just wanted to make things easier for his brother. i was crying screaming they were just so soft
i did NOT expect to see their family. that’s the kind of grounding, humanizing scene i was hoping for
luigi trying to eat. let him eat
mario playing kid icarus. he’s besties with pit in subspace. pit/mario friendship real
the luma
luigi doing a mic drop with his phone and just going O-O when it breaks
all the poses. all the music cues. all the mario kart. i’m a relatively new fan of mario ok i didn’t grow up with any of the games besides luigi’s mansion--
KING BOO CAMEO BTW AAAAYYYY
--but even i was squealing at all the references. like, all the moves from the games are there. down to the way mario and luigi run. and all the power-ups, and the enemies, it’s ALL THERE
but especially that mario kart scene, that’s one game i play religiously so the part where they’re choosing what their karts look like TICKLED me gdfksld
DIDDY KONG DIDDY KONG DIDDY KONG
yo were mario and donkey kong kinda.....were they like.....*flips hand* y’know.....?
action scenes were all stellar. had no right to go that hard.
blue shell being a relentless, vicious force of evil
peach power-ups
peach’s wedding dress
peach in general
toad and his kart of choice
“lu”
“you can’t be scared all the time, luigi” “you’d be surprised”
“my dad thinks i’m a joke too” “well your dad is RIGHT”
a lot of people don’t want mario and peach to ever end up together, and as a rabid hater of zelda/link i COMPLETELY understand and could not be more sympathetic. but i do ship mario and peach so i personally really liked their little flirty moments
luigi bringin mario some spaghetti
nice little snippets of characters like bowser and dk having underlying problems. leaves lot open for sequels n spinoffs.........i’m sure that totally wasn’t their intention...........
me: “if mario doesn’t grab bowser by the tail, twirl him around and throw him, then i don’t wanna know about it”
movie: *has mario and luigi do this TOGETHER*
me: “a    h”
bringing the fight to brooklyn had me so excited and i don’t even know why
THE 80′S SONGS HELLO???
bowser’s castle looking like a rave like in the og games
nervous bowser
the 4 hour long sex scene between luigi and bowser was so tastefully done, i was impressed and moved
memory bad but i WILL probably add MORE

Being the youngest of the Claes siblings

Tumblr media
Dear I understand your excitement =w=
This was super cute to think!! Thank u for requesting it!! I hope you like it! ❤️
Tumblr media
When Keith and Katarina heard the news that they will have a young sibling they got really excited
Keith remembered when he came to the house of the Claes for the first time, he was nervous and sad but they recive them with open arm, specially Katarina, she was really sweet with him and even helped him win more confidence in himself, he was so happy for had the opportunity to meet his precious family and he wants to become a great big brother too, he wants to give you that feeling of security and love he felt
And Katarina was just excited in general, she can be pretty childish on times so this could mean more fun! Her excitment last for a while until she remember the whole thing with the videogame, trying her hardest to remember your history to came up with a plan to prevent you to became a villian too, she would hate for her precious little sibling get involved in her terrible fate too
To be honest their mother, Millidiana Claes things that Katarina will be a bad influence for you, but will never stop you to past time with her, while your father, Luigi Claes just find it pretty funny, he loves seeing his kids having fun. When you were just a baby she didn't leave her with you much time (specially after she tried to fed you with some cake), your mother trust more in Keith than in Katarina when it came to you (even if they are still young)
While you grow up Millidiana try to teach you how to properly behave for a Duke/Duchess, but Katarina is always there to mess the lessons, even if you try to learn and follow what your mother tells you she will always inviting you to play. If Katarina and Keith already go to the Magica School then she will take advantage of those moments where your siblings where busy to teach you
While Keith is trying to follow the lessons your mother gives you, Katarina is always trying to make you act like someone your age, like a child
It doesn't matter your gender or your age difference, Katarina is always up to play with you, always inviting you to eat some sweets together and even will teach you about her crops, and of course she will introduce you to the novel she loves the most
Even if you are more shy or mature she will always drag you to do things with her, whenever she does plans you end envolved too, from go take care of the crops to go in small trips (like when they went to the lake)
Keith really wish to be a big brother you can be proud of, to be that person that you can relay on whenever you need help with something, also he makes effords to make you feel comfortable and safe around him. And whenever you tell him how much you love him or how you are proud of him, even the smallest hint that you look up at him Keith gets blushy and melt in the spot for your cuteness (but if you show that you admire someone else aside from him or Katarina he will get jelous and sad but won't tell you anything about it, he will just be a little pouty)
As much as Keith wants to be more strict with you he just can't bring himself to do it, you and Katarina are his weakness, you just have to make some puppy eyes and he will give you whatever you want, and, he wont say it out loud but he really likes to spoil you (Katarina spoils you a lot without noticing)
Also, Keith grows quite protective over you, he just cares about you a lot, you are his cute litte sibling after all (and having a lot of people interested in Katarina doesn't help either), specially when it comes to Geordo, he just don't like him at all
When they have to be in school Katarina is constantly writing you letters about what happen to her in school, like when a girl blame her of doing something against Maria, about her crops she have in school, the school play in which her friends forced her to participate and the school festival
Keith and Katarina are very proud siblings too, they praise every improve you have, from your firs steps to your magic power, it doesn't matter if you aren't the smartest or the sportier they will always ve proud of you. And your parents too, but while Luigi show it all the time, Millidiana is more discreet
It's just matter of time for you to meet the others too, and everyone will end up caring about you in their own ways
Geordo is mostly polite whenever he sees you or spend time with you, but if you tell him that you see him more like a friend he start spending more and more time with you and be more friendly too (using it as a excuse to spend time with Katarina too), even start playing with you whatever you want (and will show it off to Keith just to annoy him)
Alan wasn't too interested in meeting you and he just keep your interactions to a minimum, but with time he grow fond of you and start spending more time with you and playing a lot with you when it come to something sportier, he will never say no whenever you challenge him. He also will grow quite protective over you, Alan will be the type to follow you around to makes sure you don't hurt yourself
Mary will totally baby you, she likes to hug you and pinch your cheeks whenever she have the opportunity and even gives you cute outfits (specially if you are a girl or girly), at first it was because it was like having a mini version of her beloved Katarina, but with time she just start loveing your cuteness. She will spoil you a lot and she can easily become your best friend
Sophia is really sweet and gentle with you since the first moment she met you, she isn't exactly the atletic type so she will spend time with you mostly by having tea parties, she will recommend books if you want and even will read to you if you ask her, and will love to draw with you or even study (or just hear you talk about your special interest whatever you like the most)
Nicol doesn't talk much and he finds difficult to approach people, but he is happy to help you with whatever you need, even if he doesn't express it he likes spending time with you too, and, just like her sister, he doesn't mind hearing you talk about everything and anything
Maria is really caring and sweet too, she will be happy to meet you, she is always looking after your well-being, you could easily see her as a second mother, but she, along with Keith, is really weak before your puppy eyes. She happyly play with you whatever you want and loves helping you with whatever you need
When you start spending more time with your own friends all of them feel their little baby is growing up so fast, and Keith can't help feel a little leave behind but just at first
At the vert moment they know exist the smallest possibility of you having in a near future a partner/fiance they will be all over you, but their reactions are diferent. Katarina, Mary and Sophia wants to know every detail they can get from you (or your parents), hoping for you to live a cute romance, Nicol and Maria wants to know to but mostly because they wants you to be happy, having by your side someone who cares about you and loves you inconditionally, and, in the other hand we have Keith, Geordo and Alan who Will be pretty wary of this idiot person since they don't want you to be stuck with a person who don't deserve you
All of them make a pretty messy group, but, over all, you are in good hand and you will have a lot of fun!

Movie Review Blurbs: The Super Mario Bros. Movie
The Highlights
-The brothers were the most endearing part for me, they had a wonderful dynamic that not only made me like them as a duo, but as individuals (from the Mario media I know, there wasn't much focus on their personality so it was nice watching something that gave them more character)
-Jack Black got to sing his silly songs and honestly that's all that matters
-The movie making fun of the egregious Italian accents in the beginning was a good gag, especially considering the two are still Italian in the movie and are given more accurate accents (also I love that they're canonically from Brooklyn lmao)
-Mario was a fucking crack head before the isekai and I enjoy that fact very much
-Yoshi avengers end credit scene
-Surprisingly decent voice acting, they all delivered (especially Charlie Day and Jack Black)
-The penguins, the Dry Bones, SHY GUYS
-Toad is a fucking criminal apparently who helps outsiders break into the castle and goes outside the Mushroom Kingdom to do god knows what
-Off the top of my head, my favorite part of the movie was Luigi running from the Dry Bones and ending up in Luigi's Mansion; great horror scene for a very PG movie
-Whatever the fuck was going on between Kamek and Bowser
-SHY GUYS SHY GUYS SHY GUYS SHY GUYS SHY GUYS-
-Mario and DK's frienenemy relationship was great, especially with how they butt heads but also understand (daddy issues) and respect each other (they're a good ship ngl)
-I liked Cranky Kong as a character, I feel like he was a character made to appeal more to an older crowd now that I think about it
-The implications? Of Bowser's entire fucking ship coming to the human realm? And totaling the city? Magic is real? What's gonna happen there is the U.S. government gonna try and harness the power of the magic realm and capitalize on it like there is so much left unanswered
-simp bowser lmao (many dudebros were mad about this one which automatically makes it the best plotline in my book)
-Mario and Peach weren't shown to have romantic feelings for each other, giving them time to actually get to know each other first
Criticisms
-Ok so let's address the main issue; the pacing. The movie severely lacked transition, bridging and buildup, and it felt less like a movie and more like a bunch of individual scenes thrown together (cause it kinda was). It was frustrating cause the movie was genuinely very engaging, and there was some real lost potential with how rushed it was. It definitely needed to be longer; I think the people working on it were on a time constraint, and it showed
-Pigging-backing off the previous note, a lack of build up to big moments made those moments feel like they came out of nowhere. it also lacked an after math period for those big moments, which makes them feel unsubstantial
-Ok rant time: I saw people having this concern for Peach being a dull #girlboss character that lacked substance, and... yeah, it happened. I think the issue of female characters being sidelined and not given any character depth is being acknowledged, but in a way that still doesn't give them depth. Basically, male creators have realized they've been making female characters useless love interests in the background, so they're fixing this by making said characters hyper-competent, and in the forefront of the fight. However, its had this adverse effect where these hyper-competent characters are now just serving as plot devices to push the narrative rather than being given their own character narrative. They are at the forefront, and fight, but are still lacking in depth and development (what's worse is they still just serve as aides to male leads most of the time, just now in a repackaged way that usually would be held by a side male character). The Mario movie was rushed so none of the characters got much development, but Peach in particular was not given any character development, only plot development (she got isekai'd and is wondering where she's from, but we don't see how this idea effects her emotionally or drives her because... it really doesn't. She's just kinda like "oh hey I'm from another universe... ok cool! Anyway-"). So yeah, that needs work. Male creators need to humanize their female characters like they do the male ones, and actually give them flaws and struggles (Peach literally has a gag about being so perfect she mastered the super hard parkour course they practice on in one go, while we see Mario work on it and improve over time; its lazy ass writing cmon now). Hence why I like consuming media that's actually by female creators, and I encourage all of you to do the same
-Mario and DK were great but again needed more fleshing out, they had this whole bonding moment about their daddy issue but it happened so fast that you couldn't really stew in it much
-Mario/DK's daddy issues were not handled the best, they only got their father's approval when they did something cool and not for actually being themselves; didn't like the messaging there very much
-Though I mentioned Mario x Peach didn't happen, the movie still very intrusively pushes the idea in your face by having side characters comment on it; I imagine this is what homophobes think they're experiencing when queer character exist in media, except this movie didn't even try to be subtle with the push
-Why did Toad just decide to help Mario find Luigi? Why did Peach decide to train Mario so she could take him with her to Donkey Kong Island? Just cause he's a fellow human? And why did she just decide to take Toad along too? Again, pacing
-Rainbow Road being a "secret path" that was literally out in the open and Bowser found it almost immediately lmao (it was also never narratively explained how Bowser found the path if I'm remembering correctly)
-The Luma gag was overdone imo, but the "finally, mercy" part was very funny
-no bowuigi sex scene -∞/10
Final Thoughts
Overall, the movie was very fun, but the time constraint really did bring it down from being a better ranked movie. Its frustrating because the movie had so much to offer, I wanted more from it, and that's why the pacing is something I'm hammering on so much. And for anyone saying "its a kid's movie, who cares?"... sorry I want kid's to have good movies? And not just the kind of drool that comes from Minions-type productions? Movies are art, and art should have the people behind it putting the best into their work that they can, kid's movie or not, so if something is bringing down that art (a time constraint for example) it should be criticized in my opinion. Plus lets face it, a lot of the people going in to see the movie were teens/adults who grew up on Mario.
Despite all this though, I genuinely enjoyed it, and my low expectations for what is an Illumination movie were pleasantly subverted. There was clearly a lot of love put into this film, and I can't wait to see if there will be a sequel. Thanks for reading!

can u tell us more about the rest of the characters you showed off for ur s&m game?
Thank you I'd love to talk about them!!!
Tumblr media
-This is Manny Money, of course I had to go with an Ace Atttorney-like name. He is the one who has organized the party in his big mansion. He is usually always smiling, he is very cheery, but you can easily tell he is a very fake person. He owns a toy brand/company, inhereted by his father, but lately the toys have not been selling well and for some reason Manny is not really doing anything about it? Strange
Tumblr media
-I have not decided the name of the rest of the characters yet, this lady here is mysterious, cold, distant and always seems like she knows a lot about everyone and about this mystery. She's a succesful singer, although she usually stays out of public eye from some reason. She is also Manny's ex, something he clearly hasn't let go of, but she has, she is very open about how much she dislikes him. She is suspicious but Sam and Max have funny interactions with her because they are usually pretty nice to her despite everything
Tumblr media
-This is a supervillain skeleton, also the owner of a film company, that's not his secret identity or anything but Sam and Max think that it is lol. He is a very theatrical person, when he tries to be a villain or when he is simply having a normal conversation, he just loves a good show. Sam and Max have fought him in the past, but they barely remember anything about him
Tumblr media
-This fish is shy, socially anxious, gets startled easily, they are not having a good time in a murder mystery. Think of characters like Luigi, Boober, they are kind like that. They are an actor, whenever they act they become a very confident person, acting is the thing that always calms them, also water because they are a fish. There is a theatre and a pool on the mansion so perhaps that can help? Overall they are a very sweet person, they just worry a lot, and you have a lot to worry about in a murder mystery. They genuinely like Sam and Max, like they don't roll their eyes at them or think they are strange, they genuinely like Sam and Max, it's very sweet. Oh yeah, first sam&max nonbinary representation, second if the VR player counts, there will be a couple more, the party will have plenty of NPCs
Tumblr media
-This pig, capitalist pig, he is a terrible person. His entire personality is being a billionaire asshole, he is fun to hate or you can just hate him without the fun. He has funny facial expressions, think of Burgerpants from Undertale, not exactly like that but similar. He is rivals with Manny, even though this pig is richer than him Manny somehow always humiliates him, but he keeps going to his parties anyway
Tumblr media
-Of course you know her already, but I want to talk about her too! She is a succesful fashion designer, she has her own magazine. She wants to interview the guests on the party, take pictures, take notes about the different outfits, etc. She does that but gets bored after a while, she loves her job but the party grows old quick. She has a very cute personality with a very blunt and direct sense of humor, she says what she thinks and she is not shy to ask questions, she is a reporter of her own magazine after all, even though it's only about fashion, she is just curious to investigate about everything else too. She gets along well with Sam and Max, the things they find amusing and entertaining she also finds amusing and entertaining, she is just very casual about it. She helps with solving the mystery, because that sounds fun, she will give find a bunch of hints and stuff that will help the case move forward. You'll even get a dress-up minigame thanks to her! She does more in the story but that's a spoiler, but overall she is just a lot of fun and she has the best friendship with Sam and Max
Tumblr media
-The squirrel is only there for a puzzle, it's not a character. The bee is not a character either, but it's the mascot of Manny's toy company, you will see him a lot
-The little bat however! That's a little guy that was flying around the mansion until Max accidentaly knocks it out, we use it for a puzzle and then Sam keeps it in his pockets. When it wakes up, even though it's a little mad, it will help you for one thing: fast travel! This is a big mansion, you don't have to backtrack over and over, this little bat is here and is strong enough to carry you both. You can talk to it too, it will have another role in the story later on, but that's a spoiler. I don't know how to describe its personality other than a cute videogame companion, think of Telly Vision from Chibi-Robo, or Heart from Mad Rat Dead

That plotbunny is way too good! I’m such a sucker for metamorphosis and feral behaviour, I just can’t help myself.
It’s hilarious that Luigi, known for being demure and sweet, is quite the vicious predator once the right circumstances arise. Foxes are focused on family units and territory, and are known to actively defend their territories from other red foxes. Territorial disputes are usually settled by aggressive displays, chasing, and general harassment. Mario finding a guilty pleasure in dumpster diving is either the raccoon instincts or just Mario being Mario- no one really knows.
Whilst Luigi is desperately trying to keep Junior safe from harm and away from street punks and muggers, any passerby would think that this poor child is being attacked/harassed by a fox (and animal control should be called immediately!) Somewhere else in Brooklyn some crazy red-head rocker is screaming at a raccoon while trying to calm a quite fancy looking cat trying to scratch out his eyeballs.
(Referring to this post )
Oh yes, Luigi becomes a feral little screaming furball! The problem is, even at it's most intimidating, a fox is still a little thing and Luigi isn't the most intimidating person to begin with. So people tend to laugh at him...until he jumps and bites their balls off. He's so stressed the whole time, he deserves to go a little feral, as a treat.
At some point someone calls animal control and they manage to grab Luigi, which makes Junior laugh a lot...until the humans start talking down to him and ask him nosy questions like "where are your parents ? Do you need help getting home? Did the mean fox bite you ? Can you show us where ?"
"Hey, where are you taking him?"
"Don't worry, that nasty fox won't hurt you anymore"
Junior then panics because as much as Luigo annoys him, he's his only point of familiarity and safety in this crazy human world, and so he throws a tantrum, manages to get Luigi back and run, and now animal control are looking for a homeless kid that just stole a rabid fox.
Mario claims it's the raccoon instinct that made him rummage through a trash can for a week old pizza pie. No one can tell how much he is honest about it (and given how much Peach wants to rub her cheeks against everything to stake her territory, including on Bowser, she's not going to argue).
But aside from the trash panda tendencies, he's actually a huge help to Bowser and Peach, giving them tips and keeping them from dying in the most stupid ways several times over.
"Whaddaya mean we can't just jump up that building? Aren't there any blocks with healing mushrooms around here ? Hey, what's this guy with a hood waving around ? A "gum"? He looks wimpy, lemme take care of that"
Bowser actually befriends a bunch of punks who think this big guy who managed to flip an entire police car is the coolest dude ever, and they go gaga over his pets (Mario managed to convince Peach to act in the cutest way she could). He's looking for his kid ? No problem, they'll keep an eye out!

What's Up with Mario?
Mario's been acting a little strange lately, being slightly calmer and quieter than usual and seemingly sneaking off on occasion, and Meggy and SMG4 are understandably worried considering it's only been a few weeks since they got him back from being accidentally reset. So, they do what any reasonable, mature adults would do in this situation; follow him around in secret to see what he's been up to. This is despite Luigi reassuring them he knows what's going on and that it's nothing to worry about (he doesn't actually tell them what it is, since it's not his to explain).
For most of the episode their investigation seems entirely pointless, as all they see is Mario doing mundane, everyday errands with the expected Stupid Mario Twist. They're about ready to call the whole thing off...at least until he meets up with Daisy at a diner and they hang out and just talk, with it being obvious that they do this regularly. It's especially jarring since they're both just acting like regular people, no memes or chaos in sight. And then after lunch they go to what's apparently a therapy group for people whose lives have been drastically changed by the arrival of memes.
The two investigators call it off after that, finally feeling like they've pried into something they really shouldn't have. Later that day Mario shows up at the castle and the two of them try to admit what they were doing and apologize for spying on him, only for him to tell them that he already knew they were there, and he isn't mad since he would do (and has done) pretty much the same thing in their position. Then he explains what's going on.
Apparently, after the Mario Reset Arc, his old Canon personality and the Stupid Meme personality he's has for the past 12 years started to merge, and it threw him off-balance for a bit, which is why he's been acting weird for a while. He was hanging out with Daisy because seeing Shadow Mario's team during the WOTFI made him feel a bit guilty about letting those relationships fall apart, and he's been working on reconnecting with any of his old pre-meme friends who are open to it (so, at least for now, definitely not Peach, Toad or Yoshi). And the therapy group is something Daisy introduced him to, because quite frankly he is the Poster Boy for "had your entire life and personality upended when the memes showed up and only really got things in order years later." Not to say he doesn't like who he is now or what his life has become, but it was still a massive change with some pretty nasty consequences.
As for why he didn't tell anyone, it's partly because he didn't think it was that big a deal and partly because he didn't want anyone to worry about him. Luigi knew since they live together and he's also been trying to reconnect with their old canon friends, though he's got a lot less ground to cover than Mario.
(not really sure how to end this)

What is your headcanon for Edge's relationship with each Crewmember of the Galaxy's mightiest heroes? In exchange, I will tell you mine!
See ya tomorrow!!! I need sleep, I am from a different timezone, in Europe...I will see you soon!!!
:0
*Cracks Knuckles*
Thank you for giving me this question, i'm so happy to share this!!
sorry for the late response :(
could never figure out how to put it in words XP!!!
with that said
Let's get started:
Mario:
I think that Mario would - at first - be the least trusting of Edge, after all, when they first met, she just showed up out of nowhere, she refused to talk about her origin, and he had no idea what her motives were, so he mainly kept a close eye on her in order to catch her doing something suspicious.
Edge was aware of his suspicion during their first meeting, although she did come up with clever lies as to where she came from, it was clear that Mario didn't believe her.
Despite that, they did have respect for each other. With Mario, seeing how skilled of a fighter Edge was, all while helping out Sparks in the process, and Edge, seeing how responsible of a leader Mario was, as well as a kind hearted gentleman.
Eventually he would warm up to her after having a few lighthearted conversations with her, and seeing how much a big softie she was to the Sparks, finally lowering his guard around her, and accepting her as a friend.
It's no secret as to how protective Mario can get - don't let his outgoing and goofy personality fool you - this man will destroy you if you try to harm those he cares about.
While Luigi is his main priority when it comes to being a big brother, he's no stranger to being a brother figure towards his companions, especially when learning what they went through before meeting him. so when he found about Edge's backstory......OH BOY!! Big brother mode activated almost faster than Toads discriminating Luigi (RIP to those Toads btw)
Since Edge never had someone in her life she could to look up too, Mario being this sibling/parental figure towards her was all so new to her, so she didn't know how to properly react. but Mario made sure to take it slow and let it sink in for a bit.
Edge is one of the many few companions of Mario's that didn't go out in a blaze of glory, which Mario was thankful for, he couldn't bare the thought of losing another friend. so Cursa was defeated, Mario would take the time to help Edge with any lingering doubts that she might still have, making her more and more relaxed with her surroundings
Luigi:
knowing Luigi, he would defiantly be weary of Edge during the first meeting, but he doesn't like making assumptions of anyone, no matter how intimidating they looked, still he mostly kept his distance from her, observing her from afar (he's also canonically uncomfortable around swords, so yeah, there's that too)
despite that, he does try to be friendly with her, helping her out in some missions, and covering her during battles. this was when he started to notice that Edge was not as scary as she seemed. even seeing that the Sparks loved hanging around her.
While a huge softie for the Sparks, Edge also has a soft side for people who are shy or sensitive, so when she noticed Luigi's weariness of her, she reassured him that she understands why he acting this way, but is not someone that goes all willy nilly with a weapon in hand, making him comfortable enough to be around her.
Luigi was the second out of the group to quickly form a friendship with Edge (i'm still sticking with my Edge being made with some of Luigi's DNA theory, plus i do think they would get along pretty quickly, Luigi's never been the type to get on peoples bad side after all)
Edge also tends to be a bit protective over the said personality traits, one time, the crew saved a toad that basically chastised everyone (even Peach) for not saving him sooner (toad karen anyone), but just when Mario was about to defend Luigi when the toad went after him, Edge quickly spoke up first, much to Mario's delight.
after learning about her past, Luigi would notice that Edge would start to grow insecure about the scars that came with it, so he would try to make her feel better by sharing his stories of enemies he had to face on his own, even telling her about the times he's been possessed, leaving behind some nasty scars in the process. while he didn't like talking about it, it did help Edge open up a bit more, The two grew closer after that (ah yes, bonding over traumatic experiences, what fun)
After Cursa's defeat, Luigi would try to introduce Edge to his set of friends. like Polterpup, Daisy, Peasly, E gadd, etc.
their would even be a time where he would take her to Flipside to allow her to meet O'chunks, Mimi, and Nastsasia.
(i know that the paper mario series is obviously meant to be a paper universe, but in my head, it's not, all the games take place in the same universe, meaning yes, i don't see paper jam as canon, go ahead and fight me on that if you want)
thinking about all the people she had met, Edge would feel ready to make up with her old friends, asking Luigi if he could help, the two would try to come up with ways to contacted them and track them down. (to which, they do succeed)
Peach:
This one i think i love the most. Peach has already taken in a bunch of harmless Rabbids, now becoming a part of her kingdom and her people, the Rabbids adore her just as much as the toads, and has basically became a sort of mother figure towards them.
Edge has never met a royal before, so meeting Peach was actually a little nerve racking for her. but Peach treated her no differently compared to the Rabbids in her kingdom.
she was the first to see that Edge had a kind heart with a balanced goal to go with it. her protectiveness over the Sparks really warmed Peach's heart. plus, seeing Edge's swordsmen skills reminded Peach of her own combat skills. she and Edge would most likely exchange skill tricks with one another.
Edge is mostly formal with Peach, calling her by the royal names such as Princess or Your Highness. while Peach doesn't mind being called by the royal names, she prefers to be know as just Peach during adventures, it took Edge a while to call her by her name, but she still tends to be formal.
(the little glance they had with one another after landing in Barrendale mesa, that was so cute <3)
Peach would sometimes grimace at the scars Edge has - not in a disgusted way - but in a concerning way, wanting to know how she got them, who would do this and why. but of course, Edge refused to talk about it, still, that didn't mean that Peach had a tiny bit of built in rage towards the culprit.
Edge was not used to receiving concern from other's, so she wasn't able to properly react when Peach started to worry about her well being (she's had a lot of experience thanks to Mario's sheer stubbornness, she's can tell when someone is pushing themselves too hard),
there was one time where Peach had to drag Edge back to the airship to allow her to rest after she massacred a horde of extremely tough enemies on her own, making her exhausted (nearly collapsing).
but this exchange made Peach realize that Edge was not okay with being touched after she tried to give her a helping hand, Edge pulled away immediately when she felt Peach's hand touch her arm. while she did allow Peach to take her back to the ship, this confirmed to her that Edge went through something horrific.
Edge has never experience the help of other's that weren't sparks, so it took a lot of conceiving from Peach to let her to clean her wounds for her rather than doing it herself, like she always has. it upset Peach, knowing that Edge must have been pretty lonely.
when she finally got her answer as to what happened to Edge in the past, Peach became even more protective of the little Rabbid, like a mother would to her child, vowing herself to show make sure Edge would feel safe, loved, and protected in her kingdom
after Cursa's defeat, Peach allowed Edge to stay in the castle for the time being, offering her a guest room within it, being the one that showed Edge all of the Mushroom Kingdom, even showing her the pipes that lead to the other kingdoms.
to Peach's delight, the Toads and other Rabbids greeted Edge with open arms, treating her fairly, and making her feel welcome. tho Edge didn't know what to think of it, but Peach knows that she's going to be just fine in her new home
Bowser:
This one is interesting because while Bowser is also a royal too, Edge had no interest in greeting him formally, mainly because of the history he has with the group she's traveling with.
ever since Bowser joined the group, Edge heard bit's and pieces about the Koopa King from the others, making her want nothing to do with him, still if Bowser and the other's were willing to work together, she to will also have to oblige - no point in trying to avoid him - much to her dismay, and i doubt Bowser is pretty happy about it too.
i think during their first meeting, Bowser would take interest in Edge since she's one of those "unique" Rabbids, but would be cautious around her. when they made eye contact for the first time, it was a stone cold death stare, telling one another that they can't be trusted
(Bowser would defiantly chastise Mario for taking in a Rabbid that they knew nothing about, due to his encounter with Bedrock)
Bowser has always been "a bit" rude when he talks to people, and Edge was no acceptation, he made small talk with her once, wanting to know more about her and her backstory, but the way he spoke made it sound like he was threatening her.
But Edge was unfazed by his way of speaking, and instead played the same card as he did, completely changing the subject in no time flat. normally Bowser would blow up in said person's face for talking back him, but not Edge, she actually left him speechless (and also a bit impressed). since then, everyone had to keep an eye on those two, can't have them starting a fight against each other after all.
no enemy stands a chance when these two are on a team (that duo sidequest with them in the DLC was so much fun btw), it's horrendous. but seeing their skills in action is when the two started to have respect for one another. Bowser's opinions on Edge completely changed. Someone who is an amazing fighter and is not afraid to stand up for herself, and can be intimidating, now that's someone that would be perfect for Bowser's army.
yep, he did tell her that, and just like before, Edge was not interested and refused, with Bowser simply saying "well, just think about" (news flash: she didn't)
but Edge did respect Bowser due to his immense strength, plus he wasn't as bad as Cursa, but she still wanted nothing to do with him (guess you could say that these two are frenemies in a way)
i'm thinking of a scenario where when Beep-O confronted Edge about knowing Midnite and Bedrock, and Edge telling him to let it go, Bowser would get up all in her face and try to forcefully make Edge admit the truth, pushing her buttons and all, even asking if she's scared about what's going to happen if she told, the others had to quickly break it up before things got messy.
when finally learning the truth, even Bowser was disgusted by Cursa's actions. yes, he is a villain with a lust for power, wanting to conquer the world, marry Princess Peach, and destroy his enemies, but he's not that heartless.
Edge is technically a child of Cursa's, being born from her Darkmess. Bowser - who is a father himself - would never even think about harming his children, nor would put them in any danger. so upon hearing that Cursa would do such a thing to her "daughter", gave Bowser another reason to pummel Cursa to the ground. (yes he did tell Edge that he would, which she appreciated)
when the journey was over, and Bowser wanting to head home, he would give Edge a handshake farewell, but told her that this won't be the last time they see each other, and Edge responds with a toothy grin and a snarky "that's a shame"
Rabbid Mario:
oh RM, you poor hopeless romantic, you can't make a lesbian fall in love with you XP.
i think most of the Rabbid counterparts would practically being all over Edge, asking her question's, complimenting her appearance, etc. for RM, it's mostly trying to get her attention.
during their first meeting, he was a little nervous speaking to her, so he kinda made a fool of himself, but that's not going to stop him from trying. sadly most of those times, he's been accidentally making Edge feel uncomfortable, so he backed off it for a while, but if he sees another opportunity, he's gonna take it.
while annoyed by his charming nature, Edge can tell that he has no ill intent what so ever, plus she's seen that he has a heart of gold, and cares deeply for the others, even sharing a close brotherly bond with RL, so she's been able to tolerate him.
what Edge can rely on tho was RM's willpower, he's been seen time and time again on how he can disintegrate a bunch of enemies with just a few punches, and that's somethings he's proud of, and tries to show off to Edge whenever he can (tho she didn't care about the showing off part). fights have been mostly easy whenever these two team up.
RM and Edge are absolute powerhouses, when it comes to battles, with there strength's combined, their able to move/lift heavy objects, and can destroy herds within seconds. this is how these two have basically been bonding, tho it's not in the way RM sees, they've just been becoming good friends (poor guy getting friend zoned)
when not focused on his crush, RM would give Edge tips on how to be safer when in a battle, he's seen how she can sometimes become reckless with either herself or trying to protect someone, which resorted to her getting hurt after. while some were luckily minor, RM hates seeing his friends get hurt, so he tires to do what he can to insure everyone's safety.
when he learned about her past, he realizes why she tends to be reckless and can see that it stresses her out sometimes. so he assures her that if she ever needed someone to lean on when feeling that way, he's her man. but he didn't say it as a way for Edge to be closer to him, it was a genuine offer (he's done it before with the others). he wasn't the best motivator, but he's a good listener, and will do what he could to provide comfort.
over time he got over his crush on Edge after the adventure, but still haas been spending most of his days hanging out with her along with the other Rabbids. (sometimes even fantasying his next future crush, one day he'll find love)
Rabbid Luigi:
now this a unique one, because i think out of everyone, RL was the one who Edge got along with the best. in fact, he was the first to form a friendship with her.
RL was the only one out of the group that was never intimidated by Edge, even being the first to approach her without hesitation, he admired her a lot, telling her how cool she looked, and that she was awesome on the battlefield and all that.
Edge would be flabbergasted at the compliment's, not knowing what to say at first, so turned the tide instead, saying that she admires his enthusiasm. RL couldn't contain his excitement after that.
despite RL's loud, hyperactive personality, Edge surprisingly doesn't mind it one bit. she was completely okay with listening to him talk about such wild and wacky things no matter how long it was. the others were even impressed by how well she can handle him.
RL doesn't really care about where Edge came from, he's just mostly excited that she's going to be part of the group from now on. RL would mostly spend his time with Edge, asking her a lot of questions that weren't really personal, so Edge was able to answer them easily.
he also love's to play with the Sparks, so when he sees that the Sparks mostly hang around Edge, he sometimes tries to let her in on the fun too, but Edge prefers to just watch.
RL is basically the cheerleader of the group, there was once a time where the group's path was blocked by a huge enemy, and Edge volunteered to take it out herself. while the others were concerned for her safety, RL knew she could take it, and started cheering her on, making Edge all more determined. needless to say, the battle ended faster then expected.
over time, Edge started to grow protective of RL, making sure that he's kept out of harms way. she knew he was able to take care of himself, but sometimes he tends to be a bit cocky, and not understand how dangerous the situation is. trouble seems to find him a lot
one time, RL got too cocky, thinking that the opponent he was fighting would be a breeze, but learned the hard way that it wasn't. Edge manage to take the hit for him. while she barely got hurt, RL felt bad for getting her involved in the mess he accidentally caused, but Edge assured him that it wasn't a big deal, and that to think of it as a learning experience to help him improve. since then, he's been trying to be more careful on the battlefield.
when finding out about her past, RL also started to become protective of her, even noticing that Edge easily stresses out when thinking about it, he tries to help calm her down, teaching her breathing exercises, or handing her a cup of water, sometimes even cracking a few jokes to try to get a chuckle out of her, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.
i like to think after the journey, RL would help Edge overcome her insecurities of the new environment she now resides in by carefully exposing it to her little by little. probably as a way to repay her for looking out for him. now he's gonna do the same for her, and it worked out great
Rabbid Peach:
two girl bosses?! polar opposites?! what could go wrong?
so during their first meeting, RP - at first - want nothing to do with Edge, purposely avoiding her out of jealously. she thought her appearance looked so cool looking, that people as well as her followers would start paying more attention to Edge rather than her.
whenever they did speak, RP would act cold towards Edge, completely shutting her down with every opportunity. all while Edge was really confused as to why RP so cold to her.
it never bothered her anyway, besides Edge was no pushover, she sometimes argues back with RP, making impressive comebacks until she had RP backed in a corner, forcing her to abandon the argument.
unlike Bowser, these two have tons of restraint, they have never physically fought against one another as they knew it would be useless to waste their energy on teammates.
it wouldn't be till a time where Edge saved RP from an on slot of attacks, is when she started to see Edge in another light. even tho all she did was just making sure that her teammate were okay. RP did thank her for saving her life as she healed the cuts and scrapes Edge received. now kinda regretting a little for acting so mean to her
since then, her attitude towards Edge started to change. she no longer acted cold towards her, and instead relied heavily on small talk, even telling Edge the truth on why she acted mean in the first place. they both simply laughed it off and agreed that it was pretty stupid, and thus, a friendship born (maybe even something more ;)
being a sociable Rabbid (mainly on the media), RP tries to get Edge to be a bit more outgoing, doing what she can to get her to come out of her shell. even trying to get her to take selfies with her (not caring about what people think anymore when she posts them on Instagram)
how ironic that she was once jealous, thinking that Edge will take the attention away from her, but now here she is, giving Edge all the attention. tho Edge doesn't know what to think of it, in fact, she's kinda a bit embarrassed by it. she was never an attention seeker after all.
RP was aware that Edge was never fond with touch, but when learning about her past, she was immediate to provide support for her, and even giving her surprise hugs that Edge has no chance of avoiding, RP has an iron grip (who knows when she will ever let go), all to try and keep a smile on Edge's face
After Cursa's defeat, RP would somtimes take both Edge and RR on a girls day, taking them to her favourite clothes shops, coffee shops, sometimes hang in the castle with Peach, etc. Edge and RR would mostly be exhausted by the end of the day. but RP and Peach has it covered when the time to relax has arrived, providing comfy blankets for a nice chill night
Rabbid Rosalina:
oh these two would get along just fine. Out of everyone, their by far the calmest ones in the group.
when she joined the group, she didn't like how loud the other Rabbids were (it interrupts her reading time), so she would mostly spend time by herself, but being more observant then the others, she noticed that Edge mostly likes to spend her time alone was well, she figured that she would be a good start to get use to the area she now resides in.
seeing how Edge was not loud and rowdy, it made RR feel comfortable enough too sit beside her and read her book in peace. this was also a nice change for Edge too. while she didn't mind how noisy it can get, she enjoys to have some peace and quiet every now and then. the two quickly became friends when learning about their fair share of quietness (even if it lasts about a few minutes)
(their relationship is a bit hard for me to explain, but lets just say that it's the equivalent of two introverted friends hanging out)
RR loves to speak about her interests, so when Edge asked about what type of books she was into, she talked for god knows how long, it's still a mystery to this day as to how Edge didn't fall asleep during all that.
sometimes RR would ask Eithering to turn her and Edge invisible if any of their Rabbid friends try to bother them during their time of peace.
Edge actually allows RR to lean on her whenever she feels like taking a nap, when it happened the first time, Edge tried to push her off, thinking she was doing it on purpose. but after a few moments, she realized that that RR fell to a deep sleep. not knowing what else to do, she stopped resisting and just let her sleep where she is. since then, she no longer minded if RR fell asleep on her randomly.
RR was the only one that already knew that Edge was an ex-Spark hunter during her time with Midnite, she recalled Midnite saying something about someone leaving her behind so she can go fulfill a pointless goal. she quickly put two and two together when seeing Edge sparing Midnite after her defeat.
she never told the rest of the group because she believed Edge should be the one to tell them, for she was certain that they will understand. how proud she was when Edge finally revealed her past and the crew still accepting of her.
after Cursa's defeat, RR would sometimes read about the many beautiful places around the Mushroom Kingdom, sometimes she would bring Edge to those places where they can just chill away from society for a moment, and the sceneries they go to are just as gorgeous as they are in pictures.
as a bonus, let's add Rosalina in the mix too :)
Rosalina:
because of her merge with Cursa, Rosalina has a type of connection with Edge in a way. To Cursa, the Spark Hunters were just mere killing machines meant to serve her. but to Rosalina, they were newborn children that were being raised by the wrong person.
with Rosalina being unable to protect the Lumas and Sparks from Cursa, she decided to put her faith in the Spark Hunters until Mario arrives, sending out distress calls towards the the leader, hoping that if she could somehow communicate with her, then Edge could be able to convince the others to fight against their creator.
(remember Edge saying that Cursa gave her an edge of just enough free will to think? i like to think that edge was Rosalina)
it broke her heart seeing how the second part of the plan didn't work, and Edge was on her own, she had believed that the worse has happened to her. but felt a wave of relief when seeing that Edge was still alive, and managed to find her way to Mario and his friends
when Rosalina was freed, she apologized to Edge for putting a burden on her shoulders, wishing that what happened didn't play out the way it did, but Edge assured her that it was her choice to rebel against Cursa and how it was the best decision she ever made.
seeing how the Sparks enjoyed being around Edge, Rosalina made her the "Steward of Sparks", and will forever be grateful to her for protecting her star children.
needless to say, Edge found herself one interesting family :)
Sorry this took a while and that my descriptions are all over the place, it could have been done quicker if i wrote more on my phone, but my phone tends to post drafts that aren't finished yet, even tho i click save as draft, i didn't want to risk losing the question. but i had fun talking about this none the less, hope you enjoyed them :)

Alright well I might as well give my thoughts on the movie
SPOILERS TURN BACK WHILE YOU STILL CAN!!
Okay we clear? Cool. So, The Super Mario Bros movie. It was good but I honestly had no doubt it wasn't gonna be good after seeing the trailers and the promos. Of course as with everyone else my only point of fear was Chris Pratt's voice, but while I was watching the movie I realized its actually okay. It never annoyed me and it even fits Mario somehow (yeah I said it come at me). Now that I'm thinking about it, if Charles Martinet was casted it really wouldn't have worked. Whenever we see Mario in the game he's always happy and bouncy, rarely ever serious or emotional so having a voice like that probably wouldn't have made the more serious parts of the movie work at all and at best I would've laughed at how ridiculous it was and at worst I would've been sinking far back into my chair. No disrespect to the guy at all, he does a phenomenal job in the games, but I just don't think he'd work too well in the movie. He does get a nod to in the movie which is great!
The movie is gorgeously animated and I love how the characters translated perfectly on the big screen. The backgrounds were spectacular. And the way the incorporate the elements of the games into the movie to create this world is *chefs kiss*. Everything makes sense and it's not too on the nose, it's believable.
It's a very simple movie, nothing too crazy and if you have very basic knowledge of the Mario franchise you'll get what's going on like how I did. All the characters acted perfectly to how I expected them to and nobody really annoyed me. My only problem is with Cranky Kong's voice. Sorry, but Fred Armisen's voice just doesn't match up with Cranky's appearance.
Jack Black absolutely killed it with Bowser. He was the perfect amount of comedy and intimidation. AND THE PEACHES SONG THREW ME SO OFF GUARD I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO BUT JUST SIT AND STARE!!
Also, PEACH! Oh my god I loved Peach in this movie!! I was scared and honestly expecting her to be too much of a "strong female character" rather than a strong character who happens to be female and she's definitely the latter. She's kind, she's helpful, she's patient, she cares deeply about her subjects, kingdom and everyone in general and she can kick serious ass too. I'm gonna be honest, in my years of playing Mario on and off I never really cared for Peach, IM SORRY TO SAY, I WAS DUMB KID! But watching her in this movie, I absolutely love her!!! AND SHE GOT LORE ON TOP OF THAT?!??
Also usually I hate the whole male character and female character get shoehorned together and end up falling in love trope, but here? PERFECT!! I also never really cared for Mareach but, I'm a changed woman and I never wanted two characters to get together so bad. I absolutely loved their chemistry as it was so organic. Of course they don't which I'm fine with but, maybe potential in the sequel?
All the action sequences were done great in my opinion and actually exceeded my expectations in some cases as I was genuinely expecting nothing but slapstick but we got a healthy amount of slapstick and serious action.
The final battle and climax was amazingly done!! Ugh that hug Mario and Luigi shared was amazing!!!
Okay now for what I didn't like
I wish we had more Luigi scenes. I understand that he's the one who's kidnapped and is basically the whole reason the movie happens but we got only a few scenes with him either running away or being trapped or integrated. I would've loved maybe a scene with him trying to be brave and find a way out or rally others to help each other escape which could've added to his character. Like it's called The Super Mario BROS movie...
Also Toad is just...there. I get he's the comic relief but he really doesn't do much other than tag along. The most I remember him doing was showing Mario to the kingdom, that's it. Idk maybe do something more to flesh out his character, why is he so eager to help Mario and Peach? Why is he an adventurer? What are his goals? Stuff like that.
Also no chain chomps...worst movie, 0/10, D-tier/j
I heard people were talking about the pacing which yeah it's a little fast but it's not too quick in my opinion. I think if they let certain scenes play out longer it would've benefited the movie.
But over all it's a really good movie. Not ground breaking but really good, happy, healthy fun. And I'm quite impressed considering it came from Illumination.
Here's to hoping this movie will pave the way to a Zelda movie!!

NSB (Straud Legacy) Gen 9 Ep 5: An Afternoon With Friends
Now that Luigi had established himself in his schoolwork and extra-curriculars he had a bit more free time to visit his large extended family.
When Olive invited everyone to Henford one afternoon, he asked Isra to join him. They hadn’t been able to get together in person in quite awhile and he was excited to show her around the family farm.
Tumblr media
---------------------------------------------
She seemed a little distant when they arrived, but Luigi didn’t get a chance to ask her about it, as Denton immediately grabbed his attention, challenging them both to a high energy game of MySims Racing in the living room.
Outside by the greenhouse Tess joined Olive and the rest of the teens in a more relaxed game of cards.
Tumblr media
---------------------------------------------
When Olive led everyone down to the river to catch dinner, Luigi asked Isra to hang back and told the others that they’d meet up with them shortly. No stranger to awkward social situations by now he could sense something wasn’t right and was determined to get to the bottom of it.
Once they were alone, he asked Isra why she wasn’t acting like her usual self, had he done something wrong? Sighing deeply, she said that it felt like he had no time for her anymore. They never got together, and even their texts were sporadic. Did he still care, or should she be moving on?
Tumblr media
---------------------------------------------
Luigi was taken aback. He couldn’t deny that he’d not been making much time for her since he’d started university, but of course he didn’t want to break up! Is that why she’d been talking to those other guys on Social Bunny? Was she preparing to replace him?
Accusing her of looking for his successor had not won him any points. Isra shot him a baleful glare and told him that “replacing him” was sounding better by the minute.
Luigi quickly apologized. He’d just been so busy, but not seeing her had been driving him crazy. He begged her not to leave and promised to be more attentive. His fear and sincerity showed on his face and Isra relented, although she made it clear she expected to see a lot more of him from now on.
Tumblr media
---------------------------------------------
When the cousins returned with fresh fish, everyone talked about their current struggles and future plans.
Denton, like Luigi, was already out of high school but still living at home, trying to break into videogame streaming on Simtube. Evergreen Harbor born Isra had a passion for the environment and wanted to do something to keep their nation beautiful. Scott loved art and planned to get a job at a local art gallery. Fern had a small following on Simstagram and was looking forward to getting of the farm and growing her social media presence.
Unlike the others Hunter seemed unhappy, with an expression like a condemned man when he talked of enrolling in university.
Tumblr media
---------------------------------------------
When Luigi asked why he would enroll if he didn’t want to go, he said his parents weren’t giving him much choice.
They were relentless about him acquiring a degree so he wouldn’t struggle for Simoleons like they had. They had refused a share of the farm profits, and they expected him to be equally self sufficient. He’d be happy to make a living selling woodworks and other crafts but that wasn’t “a real job”.
Luigi was appalled that his aunt and uncle thought they could decide his cousin’s life. Much to Hunter’s chagrin Luigi insisted that he would address it with them next time he saw them, since Hunter wasn’t comfortable standing up for himself.
Tumblr media
---------------------------------------------
After the meal the cousins all said their goodbyes and went their separate ways.
Luigi gave Isra a big hug and promised to text her about a date night soon. With a smile she told him he better, she’d missed him too and didn’t want to wait so long to see him this time!
As he headed back to the dorms with Tess Luigi reflected on how nice it would be to find a way to spend more time with them all.
