NSB (Straud Legacy) Gen 9 Ep 59: Talking It Over
After Winterfest Luigi and Noemi jumped right back into the relationship they’d enjoyed before discovering their little “family problem”.
They loved spending time together, even if sometimes their “partner” wound up being a bit of a distraction.

When Luigi texted Noemi from his suit fitting for Peachy’s wedding, asking what dress she had that would match, she realized they had to talk.
They seemed to have different expectations about their current relationship that she couldn’t ignore, so she invited him to chat over dinner.

Luigi showed up promptly and complemented her tasty avocado kale salad, before smoothly moving the conversation to her love seat.
Noemi struggled mightily not to let his roaming hands distract her from what she needed to say, finally blurting out “I can’t go to the wedding!”

As she’d feared Luigi’s smile fell away at the news. He could tell it wasn’t just a scheduling conflict. Taking a deep breath, she tried to explain.
“I literally just saw your dad and step-mom as Kiana’s grieving widow at her memorial service. To face them again as their son’s paramour… I just can’t do it. Not now; maybe not ever. I love what we have but I can’t commit to you and your family. We to keep things casual and on the down low.”
“I know it’s not fair” she continued before he cut her off. “It’s not about fair. All is fair in love and scuffle, and I love what we have too, even if I can’t bring you home to my folks and keep you forever.” His smile returned then, and he kissed her sweetly. “We can still have right now, though, right?”

She chuckled as he broke away, pulling him up from the love seat towards her bedroom. “Yes.” She said quietly. “Yes, let’s do that please.”

NSB (Straud Legacy) Gen 9 Ep 58: Secret Silva
The Story of a Family
---------------------------------------------
Luigi ended Winterfest day the same as he ended most days, playing hard at e-sports practice with his teammates and Coach Silva.
Coach cut practice short to give the team time to exchange gifts. He’d been “randomly” assigned to buy a present for his rival, which smelled like another attempt to help them find common ground, or at least check on how that was going after their “little sit down” the semester before.
He didn’t expect much when he presented Beau with the Emily snowglobe he’d picked up at the festival, but Beau surprised him with a heartfelt story.

Apparently, Beau had grown up in Windenburg and spent one memorable summer trying to lure the mythical sea creature with stale baked goods.
He’d never been able to justify buying one of the expensive souvenirs at the festival, but it was a fantastic reminder of the old neighbor and local “Emily conspiracy theorist” that had taken him and his friends out in his rickety rowboat. A handful of kids and an old coot trying to catch Emily with handmade nets and leftover croissants from his mom’s job at South Square Coffee. Good times!
Luigi smiled along, slyly remarking “You know she’s not real, right?” To which Beau simply replied “blasphemy!”.

Then it was Beau’s turn. Inside Luigi’s box was a sleek green candle. Beau explained that his wife Breanne was a candlemaker and his Highness’s favorite color had been a “no brainer”. A grateful Luigi slipped it into his inventory and said he knew exactly where to put it in his room.
Since it seemed they were sharing stories Luigi agreed that Beau was “right about the color of course”. He didn’t get into the whole legacy heir thing, keeping it simple by stating that loving a certain color “obsessively” had been “a thing” in his family for generations.
As the pair left, still chatting, Professor Silva quietly patted himself on the back for a job well done. He considered encouraging the personal growth of his students a more important part of his job than any trophy, and he was really proud of the work he’d done with those two.

Back home Luigi placed his new candle on his bedside table, wished Papa Jack a happy Winterfest, and headed over to his desk to finish up some homework, reflecting that this day of showing his appreciation for others had made multiple Sims happy and the holiday an unqualified success.

NSB (Straud Legacy) Gen 9 Ep 57: Winterfest Moments
The Story of a Family
---------------------------------------------
The revival of his relationship with Noemi loomed large on Luigi’s heart and mind, but when Winterfest rolled around, he was excited to show all the special Sims in his life just how much they meant to him.
He started with his smallest friend – his beloved feline companion. That morning Luigi began the day by giving Chubbs an extended leisurely playtime chasing around their favorite laser toy. The deep purr rumbling from his cat’s chest told him that his gift had been appreciated!
The next friend he ran into was Bonnie, who was just getting ready to head out to her first class of the day. Knowing she planned to find a place with Leroy after she graduated that semester Luigi had bought her a collection of spring seeds to start her own little garden. She loved it, promising to invite him over to sample the fruits of her labor as soon as she had something to show for it.

Next Luigi headed outside to put his gifts to his cousins in the mailbox and was excited to find a package from Great-Grandpa Candor waiting for him!
He took it back up to his room, opening it to reveal a framed poster with an inspirational quote about working hard. Luigi immediately found a space for it on the wall and texted his grandfather a thank you before spinning into his winter clothes and heading off to campus.

He found Noemi in The Commons, working in one of her club’s upstairs labs on parts for the upcoming util-bot contest.
When she unboxed that season’s bestselling romance novel and a few not safe for school “toys”, she knew that not telling him about her pregnancy scare had been the right call. The test had been negative, so really there was nothing to say. Besides, she’d gone too long without his joyful adventurousness in the bedroom, and she didn’t want to spook him with worries about premature parenthood.
Noemi laughed when he said he’d bought two copies of the book, and suggested they could start a “book club”. Snuggling up close she told him seriously that she’d like that very much. She had a small box of protection wrapped up all pretty under the tree at her place for him and was really looking forward to rediscovering that aspect of their relationship.

During the long break between his last class and practice Luigi headed back home to Brindleton Bay. As was tradition for them, Peachy was whipping up a hearty grand breakfast for their Winterfest dinner. Luigi happily pitched in to make some special holiday cocktails.
Even with a rare misstep by the gourmet chef resulting in the need for a few more eggs and a change of clothes they finished with plenty of time to catch up before Scott and his girlfriend Bria arrived to join them. Luigi found it much easier to celebrate with the couple now that he had his own girl.
He didn’t mention Noemi to his family since they hadn’t yet talked about “going public”, but he was sure he’d be able to do so soon.

After dinner a chagrined Peachy asked his boy for a little “IT help”.
He’d never been the most tech savvy sim and elderhood had only made it harder to remember “all those darn passwords”.
Luigi laughed, replying that it was the least he could do as repayment for “all those amazing meals.”, dutifully sitting down at the rec room computer to straighten everything out for his father before they joined everyone in the living room to exchange presents.

Before Luigi headed back to school and Scott went off to see Bria’s folks, Peachy and Valentina pulled their respective boys aside.
They’d already secured Aubrie and Kian’s agreement to be flower pal and ring bearer respectively at their wedding in Tartosa, scheduled after the New Year, and they hoped Luigi and Scott would stand up as their Sims of Honor.
Both boys were happy to agree, glad that their parents had worked out the “family issues” and finally been able to set a date. It had been a wonderful Winterfest so far and Luigi still had one final bit of holiday cheer to spread that evening at practice.

NSB (Straud Legacy) Gen 9 Ep 56: A Friend In Need
Shortly after his disastrous date with Jade Luigi was up late working on a new Sims Forever mod when his phone rang with a call from Noemi.
He picked up right away, a bit worried. Unless it was urgent they both preferred to text. Before Luigi had a chance to ask her what was up, Noemi told him in a shaky voice: “Kiana’s gone”.
From their frequent chats Luigi knew that while the pairs marriage had been loveless for awhile, they’d still had a strong connection and co-existed peacefully. Noemi hadn’t mentioned seeing anyone else after their brief affair, choosing to save up her simoleons instead of moving out on her own.

Luigi immediately offered to come over. Noemi was one of his best friends and she clearly needed someone to talk to. She thanked him but replied that if he didn’t mind terribly, she’d much prefer to come to him, she needed to “get out of the apartment, too many memories”.
Luigi understood that all too well, remembering how hard walking through the homestead had been after Papa’s death. He agreed and in no time found himself welcoming Noemi into the boardinghouse, telling her he was “so sorry” as he wrapped her briefly in a tight embrace.
Until now the pair had steadfastly avoided physical displays of affection since “breaking up”. As they headed up the stairs to his room Luigi fought to suppress the suddenly fluttery feeling in his chest and the tiny whisper in the back of his brain that was reminding him Noemi was “finally free”.

When they reached his room Noemi thanked him again for having her over so late. She’d spent a long day preparing the arrangements for the memorial service and calling friends and family, including his own father, to let them know the news.
She told him that while she felt sad for the good times they’d shared and the friend she’d lost, she didn’t feel how she thought a widow should. Their marriage had been one of convenience for so long, with the end looming larger all the time, she was ashamed how relieved she was it was finally over.
Luigi nodded his head in understanding, telling her she had the right to feel however she felt. He knew from experience that grief was a deeply personal thing, and he believed strongly that no one had the right to tell another sim how they “should” react in the face of it.

Noemi stepped back into his arms then, laying her head on his shoulder and replying that he had “no idea how much I needed to hear that”.
As they stood there snuggled up together for the first time since before Harvestfest, Luigi breathed in the sweet smell of her perfume mixed with the lavender shampoo she used to keep at his place for quick showers after their lovemaking sessions and suddenly felt his body stiffen in a completely unhelpful, embarrassing, way. She couldn’t help but notice, looking up into his eyes, an unreadable expression on her face.
Luigi started to apologize but found himself cut off by Noemi’s lips frantically pressing against his. He responded without thought, their kiss deepening as he lifted her wholly off the ground and carried her to his bed.

When Luigi broke away to speak to her again, she just pulled his face back to her, throwing the comforter over them both.
After that they fell naturally into the comfortable compatibility they’d always shared in the bedroom. They basked in one another’s touch, the complications that had kept them apart and the sad circumstances that brought them back together forgotten entirely.
Luigi groaned as he went to grab protection out of his inventory only to realize he’d never stocked back up after his return from Batuu. He watched Noemi struggle with her disappointment before coming to a decision. “Warn me before it’s too late” she whispered as she wriggled herself around him.

Physically and emotionally the experience was unlike anything else they’d had before. The uncertainty and tenderness between them, the slow and careful navigation of the risk of unwanted pregnancy: these things left them satisfied in quite a different way when they were both finally spent.
They cuddled close, whispering sweet compliments in the simple and happy afterglow. It had certainly been a woohoo to remember!

They stayed together through the night and the next days classes and clubs before Noemi finally kissed Luigi goodbye and headed back home.
As she walked towards the teleport station just off campus a wave of nausea swept over her. Confused, she rubbed her stomach to settle it before continuing on her way. She hadn’t been sick lately and she’d just eaten dinner.
As she was deposited at the stop near her apartment thoughts of their “adventure” the night before popped into her head. Fond memories, no question, but with an undercurrent of concern that caused her to swing by the drug store on her way home. She had to be sure.
A few minutes later Noemi found herself feeling strangely detached from the anxiety as she waited to see if a 2nd pink line would appear on the pregnancy test resting in her shaking hand.

NSB (Straud Legacy) Gen 9 Ep 55: Hungry For Love
Watching his friends and relatives, including his ex Isra, find love, get married, and expand their families made Luigi’s plan to focus on improving himself over pursuing romance challenging.
Even sims he barely saw anymore called him up to talk about their relationships, leaving him jealous and dissatisfied with his lonely life. It made him wonder why no one was asking HIM out. Was he not good enough company for any sim to want his warm, soft presence in their life and bed?

Even his relatives who were neither warm nor soft were doing better than him. He did his best to soothe Tess’s circuits when she called in a tizzy about Hunter’s upcoming proposal but hung up the phone with a lingering feeling of being left behind.
Luigi hoped to talk things out with his no-nonsense housemate, but even she showed up for breakfast wearing a sparkling engagement ring.
Too overcome with envy to show the proper excitement on his friend’s behalf, he stumbled through a half rant, half apology for his emotional disarray. Bonnie just sighed and let him vent, knowing her friend well enough not to take his self-absorbed reaction to her and Leroy’s engagement personally. When he ran out of steam, she assured him his “happily ever after” was out there somewhere if he just made a little effort to find it.

Luigi couldn’t deny Bonnie’s wisdom about leaving out the welcome mat for love, but before he signed up for Meet and Mingle, he got another call.
At last! His teammate Jade, who had been so adamant that their fling was a “one time thing”, was actually interested in him! He wished he knew what had changed her mind, but he was far too excited to worry about that, agreeing to meet right after class at the old arcade in Cooperdale.

He started things off by leading her over to one of the bubble machines scattered throughout the venue, flirtatiously joking that they simply had to sample the “Jade Dragon” flavor in honor of Jade’s fiercely competitive spirit.
The bubbles loosened their lips and relaxed them both. Jade maybe relaxed a little too much, flippantly complaining that her husband, Brice, could never be bothered to do anything fun like this anymore… she only seemed to realize she’d said it aloud when she saw Luigi’s dumbfounded look.
Another married sim?! Luigi supposed it didn’t have to be a deal breaker, as long as he didn’t wind up in a weird open relationship with a distant cousin.

When Luigi inquired about the details of Jade’s committed relationship, she admitted that her husband would “kill her and the other guy” if he found out that she was seeing someone else, but what he didn’t know couldn’t hurt anyone!
She knew Luigi could keep a secret; he’d never breathed a word about their shower escapade after all. Brice was such a “stick in the mud”, she deserved to have a little fun and Luigi certainly seemed to know how to show a girl a good time!

Mind blown, Luigi retorted that his discretion wasn’t an open invitation to pull him into drama he knew nothing about. Was this why Jade had told him their little fling after the game was a “one time thing”? At her guilty look he suddenly felt cheap and used, bitterly embarrassed by his earlier hopes.
Before he did something he knew he’d regret Luigi stood, grinding out “go home to your husband” before turning and storming out the door. He didn’t know why it seemed married sims had a “thing” for him, but he’d clearly have to vet his dates more thoroughly moving forward!

NSB (Straud Legacy) Gen 9 Ep 54: Coming Home
While Luigi was celebrating his Geekcon success, Isra was returning from her brother’s homeland to find Rhys waiting for her. “Plum I missed you!”.
Isra smiled “I wasn’t gone that long!” “Well, it felt like forever”. he replied “I’m just glad you made it there and back safe and sound. I have some exciting news, but first I want to hear all about your trip”. Isra had planned to head straight to her par’s place but instead followed her fiancée to a nearby café.

They got settled and Isra launched right in. Rhys nodded along, interjecting a question here and there. “My brother, Jaden, he’s so sweet. Somehow, he’s younger than me, even though par said he was a toddler when they left. His family is really nice, and really big – he’s got 3 other sisters! I can’t wait to see the look on Pars face when she hears their youngest is named Wren!”
After she finished giving him all the details, she gestured his direction “OK, now spill gamer boy, what’s your big news”? Rhys grinned from ear to ear “just that I’ve officially earned your nickname. You’re looking at Rainy Day Entertainments newest E-sports Competitor”

Isra squealed in delight “That’s amazing, congratulations! If we need to push back the wedding or our honeymoon so you can settle in…”
He stopped her “Don’t worry, I told them that I’d need some time off soon for all that. I’m not willing to delay marrying you for anything”. Isra’s smile widened as she silently thanked her lucky stars that they’d found each other. She couldn’t wait to become Rhy’s bride and officially begin their life together.

As soon as she wrapped up with Rhys Isra headed out to Wren’s apartment in Evergreen Harbor.
Her par welcomed her warmly, echoing Rhy’s sentiments about her safe return. Isra could plainly see the questions in their eyes, but they seemed nervous and almost shy about saying what was on their mind.
“Jaden is amazing par, and so happy. The Lemons are wonderful sims. I’ve got so much to tell you and show you!” A teary eye Wren smiled as they and Isra settled on the couch. Wren had never doubted their decision to leave Jaden with Ophelia and Xander but hearing confirmation that he was doing well soothed an ache in their heart they hadn’t realized was there.

“… and we’re going to keep in touch, maybe he can even come and for a visit one day” Isra finished up some hours later. Wren felt wrung out, emotionally drained after hearing all about their son’s life and pouring over the pictures and memorabilia Ophelia had sent along.
“I still can’t believe Ophelia and I picked the same name.” they finally said “in another life I’m sure we could have been good friends. I’ll always regret how I treated her. I can tell Jaden has grown up into a wonderful young sim, though I never realized that time could move so differently between nations…! I hope he does get the chance to come here someday, I would dearly love to see him again”

By now the hour was late and Isra needed to head home. Once their daughter was gone Wren finally pulled out their son’s letter.
They didn’t think they had any tears left, but by the time they finished reading, the paper was stained with them. Jaden’s kindness and quirky charm had shone through in every line of the sweet missive, but even more than that Wren now knew that he understood their choice.
“I made so many big mistakes” they whispered to themselves as they tucked his letter into the keepsake box with the rest of the documents Isra had brought back and headed to the kitchen to start dinner “but leaving Jaden with the Lemons was one thing I got right.”

Back in Sulani Isra settled down to her own meal and texted her ex, telling him a bit about her trip. “Jaden loved your name 😉”. “Aww, that’s so sweet! came the immediate reply. It is quite unique, right!? Considering how things worked out I think it suits me 😊” Isra just laughed… classic Luigi!
She ending their conversation by thanking him again for his help in getting her to her par’s homeland. Having Jaden in her life was a dream come true and she couldn’t wait to get to know him better in the days to come.

NSB (Straud Legacy) Gen 9 Ep 53: Geeking Out
Luigi’s efforts to improve his school/life balance continued with accepting Great Grandpa Don’s invite to join his gaming club downtown for Geekcon.
It was by far his favorite festival, and seeing how Don led the club might help him coordinate his own gaming team someday, so of course he agreed.

The experienced group jumped right into the events. Luigi had been specializing in Sims Forever and Sim Scuffle recently, making him a little out of practice at the games that were a part of the Ultimate Gaming Test. Still, he had a lot of fun and was satisfied with his overall performance.
He might have been a bit rusty at his non-core games, but Luigi had been programming up a storm since decreasing his need for sleep. Just like his Great Grandy Jasper before him he crushed the hack-a-thon and walked away to enjoy the rest of the festival confident in having placed well.

Swinging by the merch stand he grabbed a gift for Professor Silva’s upcoming team “Secret Father Winter” exchange before grabbing an iron rich burger for lunch.
Remembering how frustrated his Grandpa had been about his struggles in the romance department during their last club outing Luigi checked in with him first. Don happily reported that his luck had turned around not to long after their night on the town. His very next Meet and Mingle match had been a Sim who seemed to be a great fit. If things kept going the way they had been Luigi’s next invite from him might just be for his wedding to Rhea!
Chase was not nearly so excited to share as Don had been. After their last conversation Luigi had connected the amateur fizz aficionado with his Aunt Tori and Uncle Miguel. Unfortunately, it seemed like something had gone wrong from there, although Chase clearly didn’t want to talk about it!

Luckily Denton saved Luigi from the awkward conversation by coming over and motioning his cousin to join him. Whispering just loud enough to be heard, Denton revealed that he wanted his best man be the first to know he was soon going to be a dad.
Luigi was concerned at first since his cousin hadn’t felt ready for that the last time they’d discussed it, but apparently Bridget’s excitement had rubbed off on him. Denton was happy to add that mischief magic had turned out to be a fantastic outlet for his wife’s darker side, vastly improving their home life.
Luigi could only hope his own feelings turned around so fast when his own heir showed up. Turning his frown upside down Luigi gave the expectant parents his unreserved congratulations on the approach of the first baby of the next generation.

Luigi’s instincts had been spot on about his performance earlier that day. His score in the gaming competition wasn’t the best, but when the hack-a-thon winners were announced he handily beat out the competition with a near perfect score!
Luigi was flush with pride as he headed up to the merch booth to turn in his voucher and collect his winnings. He didn’t have a spare desk for the high-end desktop computer he’d won, and it couldn’t compare to the laptop that had benefited from his ancestress Veronica’s customization back in the day, but he figured he’d hold on to it in the hopes of being able to customize it himself once he maxed out his own programming skill.

As the group said their goodbyes and went to go their separate ways Luigi basked in the congratulations of his fellows. It felt so good to have his accomplishments acknowledged and really, he reasoned, he deserved nothing less. Besides, he would totally have done the same for them.
He decided that today had proved just how successful he could be. He was always trying to better himself, achieve more, he might as well embrace the fact that he was truly an overachiever. With a little hard work great things awaited him – he just knew it!

NSB (Straud Legacy) Gen 9 Ep 52: A Focus on Me
Luigi started that semester with a fresh perspective, doing his best to put his Papa’s advice on life and relationships into action.
He stopped trying to “look tough”, and relaxed both his hairstyle and his usual wardrobe. He still wore his signature leather jacket when he felt like it but mixed his more comfortable hoodies in as the weather allowed. He also focused on achieving his own goals rather than rushing into a relationship.
Papa Jack had been right that love could wait, and he was nowhere near ready to think about children! He’d have to work hard to get that A+ report card at the end of the semester, and now that he was living on his own, he’d have minimal distractions and no excuses.

Bonnie seemed to be “grinding towards success” also when he would run into her in the common area of their boarding house. They chatted about their schoolwork and the things they had done over break. He thanked her again for clueing him in about the opening there.
It was so quiet, orderly, and conveniently located! With just his own little room to clean it was like living back home again without the commute.
He and Noemi also picked back up their “study buddy” sessions in The Commons. The two sims had fun geeking out over Luigi’s “behind the scenes” adventures in Battu. They agreed that someday it could be fun to go back there on vacation, “fighting for the resistance” just like in the movies.

Unfortunately, the arrival of cold, dry winter air threw a wrench in Luigi’s productivity, with his eczema prone skin becoming an itchy distraction.
He had years of experience soothing his unhappy exterior, but his outbreak regimen still took time. Frequent application of topical cream helped with immediate symptoms, and special moisturizing body wash made his shower time a steamy therapy of its own. Finally, he resumed swimming regular laps in the pool at the commons, his skin responding positively to the chlorine while he got a vigorous start to his day.
Until he graduated and could move someplace like Sulani, he’d have to simulate a warmer, wetter climate to keep his “dragon-scale skin” in check!

The time Luigi spent on skin care, schoolwork and e-sports practice began to endanger his fragile “school/life balance”. He’d just started to miss having time that wasn’t dedicated to one or more of his long-term goals when his body reminded him that he’d also missed taking his iron supplements.
He couldn’t keep going on as he had been, but to his immense “satisfaction” he found a way to literally get more waking hours in the day. With his new seldom sleepy trait he was able to adjust his sleep schedule to make the most of each night, and sleep well in fewer hours.
Now that he could stay up quite late, Luigi once again had gaps in his schedule to relax, take care of his needs, and even start playing Sims Forever again. He updated and upgraded the mods he’d made, which pleased his fellow players and kept his own long running legacy gameplay fresh.

Focusing night and day on his goals, Luigi had really and truly become the center of his own world and he found nothing wrong with that.
Sure, maybe that might make him a bit self absorbed, but he was the main character after all! He thanked his papa for his timely advice.
Focusing on himself had been exactly what he needed to start the new semester off right. One day his “legacy spouse” would arrive, and he’d have to make time for a child, but for now he felt that his number one priority was mastering his own life. He would show the world, as well as the shadowy watcher and their friends “out there” how successful he could be, like his own highly skilled heir in Sims Forever.

NSB (Straud Legacy) Gen 9 Ep 51: A Chat With Papa
Luigi was up late working on updating the Sims Forever mods he’d made after visiting most of his living family when he heard the ethereal rustle of a visit from “the other side”.
He looked up to see the ghost of his beloved Papa Jack standing beside him at last. Overjoyed Luigi sprang to his feet, his modding forgotten, and wrapped his Papa in a giant hug. He had so much to tell him, so many questions he’d been waiting to ask!

The budding mixologist insisted they head downstairs and enjoy the bottle of his Papa’s favorite nectar he’d been saving for this visit.
As he poured them each a tall glass, Luigi had to ask his Papa why he hadn’t visited earlier. Jack explained that in the same way sims in his homeland rarely extended their natural lifespans they also rarely visited the mortal realm as ghosts. The few times he had stopped by, his son was either sleeping or busy “entertaining” another sim.
He’d wanted to catch up with his boy, but he wasn’t about to interrupt his much-needed rest, let alone the other thing…!

With only a precious few hours before Jack returned to the nether, Luigi jumped right into the issue he thought his Papa would understand best.
He caught Jack up to speed on his frustratingly unsuccessful love life, from Noemi to Jade and even his brief experience with Ralla. He’d thought the watcher would make it easy to find “the one” and produce the next heir, but that special someone he was waiting for was taking forever to arrive.
It was the only way he really hadn’t wanted to turn out just like his Papa, but young love didn’t seem to be working out for him.

While Jack had observed that this Watcher seemed to enjoy a good love story just as much as his previous one, he told his boy that there was never a guarantee that his special someone, or the next heir, would come easily or in an expected way.
He advised his son to take his time and spend the effort to find the right sim. If Jack had rushed to settle for any old relationship he might never have ended up with Peachy and he didn’t for a second regret the love they’d shared, even if it had taken him a long time to find it.
Where Jack thought Luigi should most consider breaking from his example was in life extension. The norms of his own nation and upbringing shouldn’t keep Luigi from extending his own life as needed to give him time to find the ideal spouse and enjoy raising that next generation with them.

Luigi could hardly believe that his hardline Papa had softened his stance on extending one’s life! Once he got over the shock, he promised his Papa that he wouldn’t be rushing into or out of any relationships. He had enough to deal with now, between schoolwork and becoming a leader in e-sports.
He didn’t want a repeat of the Isra debacle with someone who wanted more attention than he could give, which raised the question of when to shift his focus from his own goals to his special child? Luigi wanted to be as good a dad as Jack, but he had so much he needed to accomplish professionally!

At this Jack grew thoughtful. He said he’s always known he would like to be a dad, and by the time Luigi was born he’d been ready to shift his focus entirely to fatherhood. Peachy was the one that had struggled to juggle his professional and family responsibilities.
Jack’s best advice for Luigi on the matter of parenthood was to, once again, take his time. Ensuring that whomever he decided to have a child with understood how important his professional goals were to him would be essential. Once he had a family, they should be a top priority, but having the right partner would make it easy to raise a happy and successful heir while still having time to make his own dreams come true.

Jack began to feel drawn back to the world beyond, and he could see that his son was tired, but he had one more thing to say before they parted.
He admired Luigi’s steadfast desire to stand up for what was right, but he didn’t need to “act tough”. He should not be shy about showing his joy and vulnerability to the world as well as his strength. It was his judgement and actions, not his clothing or hairstyle, that would make him a strong sim.
Luigi told his Papa once again how fantastic it had been to see him and about the late nights he would set aside for future visits. After one last goodbye hug the two Sims went their separate ways, both much happier for the chance to spend a little time together once again.

NSB (Straud Legacy) Gen 9 Ep 50: Catching Up
Remembering his promise to keep up a good “school/life balance”, once Luigi felt he was fully prepped for the new semester he checked in on his family.
First up was a trek back to the old homestead in Brindleton. He brought a newly elder Chubbs along to celebrate Valentina’s own transition to elderhood. He enjoyed seeing everyone again, catching up with Kelsey and Scott. Scott was still working at the Art Gallery and had recently been promoted, while Kelsie had brought her husband and some well loved grandkids to her mother’s birthday.

Peachy and Valentina had yet to set a wedding date, due to some lingering family drama on her side. In their youth Valentina’s twin sister Kassandra had cheated on her unsavory husband Leroy with Peachy, until the two men became aware of each other. Relations were still tense between them.
Luigi told his dad not to worry about it, he’d put the old reprobate in his place if Leroy started anything. Peachy just shook his head, promising his son that wouldn’t be necessary. They’d send out invites as soon as they decided on a venue for the ceremony.

Next up Luigi headed out to Moonwood to check in on Hunter and Tess. He was glad to find them settling in nicely, as their primary skill sets were an excellent fit for the bustling farm community and the pack had been just as warm and welcoming as promised.
Luigi was saddened to hear of the passing of his old art Club friend, the ancient werewolf Wolfgang. He wasn’t able to pretend to similar sadness when he heard that his aunt Toni had left Hunter’s short-fused father Manny and returned to The Collective single shortly after Denton’s wedding.

Toni took the opportunity to thank her nephew for his unwavering support of his cousin. Her partner’s “my way or the highway” attitude had driven many of their friends away, and when he had at last alienated their child as well, she had been forced to dissolve their relationship.
She had come to the mill to reconnect with Hunter and Tess. Once there the community had rekindled fond memories of her youth and begun to restore her faith in relationships. Her old friends welcomed her back with open arms and she loved being able to watch her son bloom here with them.

Finally, Luigi got a chance to check in with Denton and Cullen when the newlywed invited them to the flea market downtown.
He and Bridget had just moved to a new apartment in the Spice District, and when he heard of an innovative young musician playing amongst a large collection of secondhand furnishings, he knew they could all could catch up while catching a show and hunting for deals.
Cullen found a chair while Denton picked up a comfy couch and Luigi snagged a cocktail themed floor lamp.

After they all found decorations that appealed to them and took in a performance that did not disappoint, the cousins headed to a local gaming café.
The change of venue was definitely Luigi’s idea, but Denton and Cullen had a good time too. Despite their different upbringings and careers all three boys were digital professionals and quite at home in front of a screen. They chatted as they played, giving the game only half their attention.
Denton told them married life with Bridget was going well so far, although they were nowhere near ready to bring kids into the mix.

As for Cullen, he’d recovered nicely from surgery, but what he was most excited about was the results of his HRT therapy.
He looked very different than the last time his cousins had seen him, and he felt a thrill of excitement every time he glimpsed the person staring back at him in the mirror. Cataloging his exploration of the city for his followers on Sinstagram was going well, and his parents had helped him find his own small apartment in the Spice District not far from Denton and Bridget.
The cousins had a great night together, and they told Luigi they couldn’t wait to cheer him on at his next e-sports event. They parted ways looking forward to seeing each other again soon.

NSB (Straud Legacy) Gen 9 Ep 49: A Sporting Sportsman
Seeing Isra was out of the ordinary, but otherwise Luigi jumped back into his usual day to day ambitions upon returning from the Batuu themepark.
He crammed in a little more pre-work for his classes starting up next semester and was looking forward to e-sports tryouts. It would be his first year seeing things from the other side, and he showed up at the student union with his game face on, ready to help the team pick new teammates.

Of course, Beau was there as well. He’d heard that even though the other sim had the wisdom not to “push through the pain” and make things worse by trying to finish out the game, he’d still been scolded for attempting to play the match against Britechester without support for his injured wrist.
It seemed he’d properly taken care of himself over break and was fully back in action, which soothed Luigi’s lingering guilt over their stupid fight.

After the potential new recruits had their chance to show their stuff and were dismissed, the existing team settled at some study tables nearby.
Coach Silva had already appointed the new team captain based on the previous semesters performance and wasted no time congratulating Luigi on earning a spot as a starter for the coming season, fanning the flames of his hopes to make captain next semester and eventually go pro.
Luigi smiled at his fellow players; their congratulations warming his heart before they all got down to the business of discussing that day’s match-ups.

Beau kept surprising Luigi, this time with his shrewd commentary. Luigi had always thought he was a sim only concerned with looking out for himself, but instead his observations about those trying out for the team were sharp and spot on, even if his tact sometimes left something to be desired.
Beau had kept his word about laying off the dirty tricks and drama that had undermined Luigi on the “playing field”, and suddenly it seemed that the two of them might be able to spend their energy working together instead of at cross purposes. It was an uncertain but very welcome change.
While Luigi didn’t know if they’d ever be friends, he left the hall that day with a grudging respect for his least favorite teammate.

NSB (Straud Legacy) Gen 9 Ep 48: Travel Plans
Luigi returned from Battu and received a surprise text from an old friend. He and Isra had stayed in touch on social media after breaking up, but otherwise had not been in contact since their final awkward date.
Luigi still missed her, but her sinstagram was clear that she’d moved on and was happy with some sim named Rhys. He had no idea what she could possibly want from him when he received a text asking if he’d be willing to meet at Pepper’s Pub, but she’d said it was important, so he agreed.
She may have broken his heart, but he knew she’d given him more chances than he deserved. He’d do what he could to help.

Luigi made sure to show up on time and well groomed. He spotted Isra right away at a corner table with a large order of fries she offered to share.
He accepted a plate and asked how she’d been. She told him she was doing well, shyly holding out her left hand on which rested a dainty diamond ring. She and Rhys were getting married, and in a roundabout why that’s why she’d asked to see him.
Isra went on to explain that talking about children with her fiancé has raised questions about her birth father and any family her par might have back in their homeland. Wren had always been pretty tight lipped about their past, and in fact it was a subject that seemed to cause them great pain.
Luigi still wasn’t sure what any of this had to do with him, but he munched a few crispy fries and gestured for her to continue.

Isra said her par had finally told her the full story of their exodus to this nation. It was a dark tale of a reckless ex-husband named Calvin who had wronged a very powerful and dangerous man. Not safe from his vengeance anywhere in their homeland, in desperation they turned to a dark magic that would send them worlds away, with no clear path to follow.
The danger and uncertainty inherent in the process prompted them to leave their young son in the care of friends. Wren was glad Jayden had been spared, as the spell made them feel like their very life essence was being broken apart and scattered to the winds. A generation later, with no sign that their enemy had ever found them, it had certainly been effective, but Wren wouldn’t wish it on anyone, and never wanted to go through that again.
Isra, however, was desperate to meet the sibling she’d always wished for. He was a half-brother, Calvin and Wren having divorced before she was conceived via artificial insemination using an anonymous donor sample. She hoped that Luigi, the son of an immigrant and a mage, could connect her to a (hopefully safer) way to get to Jayden and back.

Luigi was happy to get Isra in touch with his archmage ancestors but said that from everything his Papa had told him growing up traveling between nations was usually a straightforward affair. Papa Jack had never felt a need to return to his homeland, always saying his life was here now, but he’d talked about his own travels and his friend Karwan’s visit to attend his and Dada’s Peachy’s wedding like it was no big deal.
He started to enter contact info for his great-grandfathers into her phone, but only got as far as Don before noticing the time.
Rising quicky he said he was running late for a post internship meeting with his mixology professor. Promising to let Grandpa Don know she’d be reaching out he offered a hasty goodbye and good luck as he sprinted for the door, leaving Isra shaking her head at his departing back. Same old Luigi!

A short time later Isra found herself sitting at another small table across from a different dark-haired Sim. She’d been surprised when he’d inquired right away if she was seeing anyone, but he didn’t seem put out when she told him she was engaged.
Don’s take on travel between nations was very similar to Luigi’s. It wasn’t the most common occurrence, and he’d never tried it himself, but he knew others like Jack that had and there was nothing to it. He could only guess about what kind of ritual had been used to teleport her par and their ex-husband away from their troubles, but it sounded dangerous and certainly wasn’t necessary. He gave her information on how to travel back to her pars homeland, wishing her good luck and a safe journey.

With transportation arranged, all that was left now was for Isra to pack a bag and say her goodbyes to her loved ones.
Wren cursed out Calvin when told about safer travel options but was unwilling to risk possible magical side effects or run ins with old enemies by trying to go with her. They did however give Isra an envelope that she promised to deliver to her brother along with Wren’s best wishes and love.
Rhys also said he wished he could go, but there were a couple very important tournaments coming up, and he was so close to being picked up by his dream e-sports pro team. Isra sighed and kissed him. She certainly had a type, but this gamer boy was worth coming back for.

Isra went straight from Rhys’s place to the location Don had given her. Taking a deep breath, she took one last look at the slip of paper where her par had written the last address they had for Jayden’s adoptive family before heading off to find him.
Wren had said the Lemons were good people and she could only hope that the brother they had raised would be interested in getting to know her.

NSB (Straud Legacy) Gen 9 Ep 47: An Intergalactic Romance
Luigi’s hopes for romance were finally realized during the last half of his Batuu Cantina internship.
His new co-worker Ralla was a few days younger than him but had skipped college to become a full-time mixologist. Luigi found her adorable and appreciated her interest in his tales of college and e-sports. Best of all, she was single and didn’t have any “weird hang-ups” about dating co-workers.
The park didn’t outright ban employee relationships, but it was certainly frowned upon, which gave their little flirtation just the right amount of spice to make it deliciously dangerous.

One afternoon the two sims loudly said goodbye at the end of their shift, yet mysteriously crossed paths again shortly thereafter at The Dwelling.
To avoid suspicion, they took separate elevators up to Luigi’s hotel room, which Peachy had upgraded to a single for his privacy loving son.

Sneaking around had gotten them excited, but everything fell apart once they were alone with a whole night stretched out ahead of them.
While they enjoyed one another’s company at work, things simply didn’t click in the bedroom. Luigi was too kinky a lover for the vanilla Ralla, and his best efforts to be a gentleman still left them both feeling that this woohoo session could have been better with a partner more in sync.
Incompatible woohoo styles didn’t have to be a deal breaker, but it was very important to them both. After their lackluster evening under the sheets, they agreed to stick to being friendly out of bed.

Luigi was sad that he hadn’t found his “one” in Battu, but e-sports tryouts and a whole new semester of learning left him happy to return home.
He wasn’t sure if he’d ever come back to “a galaxy far, far away” but he was glad he’d had the opportunity to experience life as a barkeep at The Cantina.

NSB (Straud Legacy) Gen 9 Ep 46: An Intergalactic Internship
Luigi was keeping watch for romantic opportunities at the internship he’d found through his previous semester’s mixology class.
He was super excited to have been given the opportunity and just hoped he’d been selected on his own merits rather than because of his family connections to one of the park’s major juice suppliers.
After dropping Chubbs off with Bonnie and a check in at the hotel to get into character he joined the other Sims heading through the employee entrance of the “out of this world immersive experience” for his first full day as a bartender at The Cantina.

He quickly discovered that days at the bar were long, but he was going to learn a lot.
The theme park used the unique juices it sourced from local SimNation farms to make all sorts of mixes that were exclusive to the theme park. Only here would he ever be taught the recipe for a Dagobah Slug Slinger or a Blurrgfire!
Luigi still often struggled to make new friends and was delighted at how easily he got on with his co-workers. His passion for the work and his stories of how some of the fruit their drinks were made from was harvested and juiced made for easy conversation with his fellow mixologists.

Of course, while Luigi was excited to learn the secret to mixing up out of this world concoctions at The Cantina, for him mixology was a sideline, and he wasn’t about to neglect his true calling. He kept a laptop in his inventory and brought it out at a corner booth during most of his free time.
The tryouts that recruited new team members every semester served double duty as the best time for existing players to earn a promotion. He knew that a few of the Sims from the previous year’s starting line-up had graduated and he hoped to take one of their vacated spots for himself.
Being a starter would put him in position to become team captain eventually, and leading his team to victory would surely get him noticed by the professional E-Sports scouts! So, the ambitious young gamer read up on strategy and entered local Sim Scuffle tournaments every chance he got.

Peachy had never returned to the park after that first trip with his brother and cousin, but Uncle’s August and Paul were regulars and made sure to schedule a visit during Luigi’s internship. They were excited to see such a familiar face behind The Cantina Bar (even if they still had to plunk down their hard-earned galactic credits for a drink… no freebies boys!).
Luigi was at the park to work, not play, but his uncles still managed to convince him to clock out and join them for a little dance party.
After the robot DJ helped them shake out all their stress Luigi thanked his family for coming and wished them safe travels. So far, his internship was shaping up quite nicely and he looked forward to the rest of his Cantina adventure.

NSB (Straud Legacy) Gen 9 Ep 45: Wet and Wild
Fortunately, the Brawl-Day scuffle with his rival didn’t seem to have cooled Jade’s interest in taking Luigi somewhere a bit more intimate.
Unfortunately, the magic of this particular holiday hadn’t improved Beau’s peculiar (and annoying) sense of humor. The troublesome redhead bowed low, sarcastically apologizing for having “delayed his Majesty’s pressing social engagements!” to general groans as his target eagerly left.

Creeping into his boarding house together a few minutes later, Luigi hoped to avoid disturbing his new roommates.
Seeing that they seemed to be alone on the ground floor, he sold Jade on the idea of showering off the sweat of their day together in the bathroom right down the hall. She let him lead, tangling him up along the way, and kissing him eagerly at the entrance to the stall.
The things that girl could do with a shower head sent both steam and Hearts ascending towards the ceiling, along with Luigi’s eyebrows.

As both Sims emerged warm, wet, and satisfied, Luigi asked Jade to stay the night, full of confidence that she would accept.
Instead, Jade laughed. She told him that he was cute and all, but this was a casual one-time thing. She didn’t get “involved” with teammates and would not be staying over for breakfast. As she got dressed, Luigi grappled with the night’s sudden divergence from his plans.
With a friendly pat on the shoulder, Jade thanked him for the lovely evening and skipped out the door, leaving him to head up to his bed alone… again.

The purring and cuddly Chubbs brought Luigi a taste of the unconditional love he’d hoped would start that night with Jade.
When he finally lay down to sleep, he was still feeling confused and dejected. Was the watcher messing with him? It shouldn’t be this hard to find someone! More than ever, he wished Papa Jack was here to advise him. Papa had dated his fair share of women before meeting his father, whereas Peachy’s experience had seemed to revolve around lovers practically falling into his lap!
He just had to have faith that his special someone was out there and stay determined to find her no matter what obstacles the watcher threw in his way.

NSB (Straud Legacy) Gen 9 Ep 44: Rough Love
After congratulating him on the win most of Luigi’s family headed home while he went over to the University mixer at The Commons with his team.
It happened to be Neighborhood Brawl Day as well as game night, so there was still a lot of sim scuffling going on at the afterparty. Bonnie and Scott each took advantage of a little feel-good fighting to help clear the air and strengthen their bonds. Afterwards Luigi had barely started setting up his portable bar when Jade dragged him away, claiming that tonight wasn’t the time to mix drinks, but rather to mix and mingle with other hot singles!

Luigi was intrigued. With his schoolwork and all the housing upheaval he hadn’t had much time to spend on exploring the dating scene recently. If Jade could help him find that special sim, he’d finally have someone to snuggle with in bed at the end of a long day.
Stowing his bar back in his inventory he turned to his teammate, giving her a big bright smile. Heck, maybe she would be that special sim…

A few drinks, one ill-fated keg stand, and one raucous game of juice pong with Jade later, Luigi was feeling quite good about taking her advice to skip mixology in favor of mingle…ology. She’d just suggested they go someplace a little more private when he turned and found Beau blocking his way.
Swaying slightly on his feet as he stared him down, the other sim poked Luigi in the chest and demanded a “rematch” with “His Highness”.
Luigi sighed. He really didn’t think that was a good idea after what had just happened at the game, but it would be bad form to reject another Sims request to fight on Brawl Day. Turning to Jade, he asked her to give him a minute and told Beau to “bring it on”.

The fight (if it could be called that) was extremely one sided. The very juiced Beau seemed to have a lot of feelings to get out, while Luigi spent most of his energy carefully avoiding re-injuring his high-strung teammate.
Beau finally wound down and Luigi found himself being aggressively hugged by the other sim. Beau’s breath was hot in his ear as he told him that he might be a spoiled little rich kid, but he was OK at e-sports. Luigi rolled his eyes, sarcastically thanking his frenemy as he gently extracted himself.
Then he remembered the seductive things Jade had whispered into his ear right before this poorly timed distraction. The tipsy sim decided that if this scuffle had cost him his chance to spend the night with their hottest teammate, he might really take Beau down with a “round three”.
