Kaylo Crescendo's Court of Children
(This is a DIFFERENT Kaylo. Not the one from my Balan Wonderworld stories)
So, I had this idea in my head for a while now, and it involves Kaylo, and the idea of her having a court, since she's the ruler of a kingdom. This however is no ordinary court. This consists of various children from throughout the Multiverse. So, I'm gonna list them out here.
Rules of the Court:
Any Child that joins the court MUST be at or under 16 years old (it's the Court of CHILDREN. Not teens or adults.)
The only people that know about the Court HAVE to be close to said Child (parents, close friends, family) other than that it's a complete secret (at least from mortals)
All kids in the court must take the "Immortal Promise" (A special pinkie Promise like ritual that ensures that a child freezes in the aging process. They can not, and WILL not age, as long as they have this promise
KEEP IN MIND! The list isn't complete, and more names will be added, so don't be surprised if the list looks longer
Kaylo's Court of Children and Kids
No kingdom is complete without a Court. And this is no exception with the pink haired ruler of Rhythm Heaven. Of course, this is no ordinary court. This court consists of the many children that exist around the Multiverse, that have all taken "The Immortal Promise", a promise that ensures that they live as long as Kaylo does, and still retain their youth

Curtain Call - Act 2
For: @writer-wednesday, week 16. Pairing: Captain Christopher Pike x F!Reader (no Y/N) Warnings: None! WC: 4.5k Rating: Teen Notes: Thank you for joining me for act two. Reader gets to move out of her comfort zone today... Summary: Chris has emerged from the lounge, looking good in a gold uniform today. He actually winks at you as he passes, and you bite your lip to control your smile.
< Act 1 • Masterlist • Encore >
Tumblr media
You don’t believe in ghosts, but if you did, the theatre at night would be a good place for them. You can almost feel the memories of performances past as you walk the familiar corridors: centuries of comedies, dramas, tragedies. And the echoes performers who portrayed those things and felt their own joys and heartbreaks in this old building. Perhaps you’re leaving an echo too: a memory of a missed opportunity.
But the light shining out from under Leda’s office door is warm, and you hear familiar voices as you approach.
“Finally! Now will you please tell us what this is about?” Ayre is the first person you see as you step through the door, flopped in one of the office chairs.
All the other chairs are occupied by musicians you know to varying degrees. Mostly instrumentalists: Jasveer, a pianist who has accompanied you in the past smiles as you come to a stop near her.
“You’re here. Excellent.” Leda consults a PADD on her desk briefly before looking round the room, making sure she has everyone’s attention.
“Some of you will be aware that there was a Starfleet delegation in the audience this evening, bringing the Maur Asani to experience some human music and culture. They enjoyed the show, enough that they have requested a performance on their homeworld as part of their negotiations with the Federation.” Leda’s dark eyes catch yours. “They asked for you specifically.” Your eyebrows raise, and you take a breath to say something, but Leda carries on.
“As I understand it, it is of considerable importance for the Federation to make a good impression on the Maur Asani. So we are asking you to accompany their delegation back to their homeworld. Tomorrow.”
Tumblr media
Transporting a piano is serious business, apparently. Jas said they’d started an hour ago, and they’re still working on it.
Even though you’d had a late night – though perhaps not as late as you’d hoped – you woke early.
You had laughed, startled, then immediately regretted it, when Leda mentioned, very offhand, after going through all the logistics of who was coming, what instruments, a provisional programme – when she mentioned that the ship you would be travelling on was the Enterprise.
Nerves are a part of being a performer. Confidence grows with practice, and the more you sing for people the easier it is, but you always feel them at least a little before a performance. You think it shows you still care about your audience and your art; the day the nerves are gone completely you should probably find a new career.
But today, even though you aren’t performing, you are nervous.
Because you know the captain of the Enterprise.
Last night seemed like it would be something special. You felt you were on the brink of a real connection with Chris, even though you knew it would be fleeting. But being on his ship is a different thing entirely. Will it be strange to see him in this different environment? Will he even want to see you?
And aside from that, suddenly the thing you thought you wanted, the opportunity to travel off world again, was dropped in your lap with no notice and no real choice for you. It’s exciting, but... it’s a lot.
Packing at home didn’t take long – you’re used to travelling when it comes to Earth, and space isn’t that much different. There will be synthesisers on the ship if you’ve forgotten anything.
You took your peace lily, the only plant you haven’t yet killed, round to a neighbour’s along with a box of fresh food from your kitchen; then all you had left to do at the theatre was put a couple of your fancier dresses in garment bags and leave your baggage with everyone else’s.
Jasveer winces as a Starfleet cadet, assigned to help with instruments and baggage on the trip, rocks the frame of the piano as she takes one of the legs off. The guts of it are wrapped in different sections on the floor, and prior to today you had no idea you could disassemble them into quite so many pieces.
“Is all this really necessary?” You gesture to the different parts. “Couldn’t they just—just transport it? As is? Or maybe just put it in a crate?”
“The cargo bay isn’t designed for instrument storage. Stress on the frame from the strings can be an issue. And Starfleet can’t completely guarantee that we won’t be in any space battles.” Jas shrugs, and twists a lock of her long black hair through her fingers. “At least this way I get to play a piano I’m familiar with.”
“Space battles? Are we expecting space battles? I think I’d rather stay on Earth.” Ayre’s grin belies their words.
“If you want us to have all the glory, be our guest.”
Tumblr media
As the golden sparkle fades your eyes stray from the red-shirted officer operating the transporter, to the officer wearing gold who steps forward with a polite smile.
But she isn’t Chris. And you’re surprised to find, despite your nerves around seeing him again, that you’re disappointed he isn’t here. You can’t think about it for long, though, because she’s introducing herself.
“Welcome to the Enterprise. I’m Commander Chin-Riley. Captain Pike regrets that he was unable to meet you; he is tied up with… diplomatic matters. I’ll show you to your quarters, let you leave your things, and then we can have a tour. This way, please…”
You take a breath as you step off the transporter pad. The air tastes fresher than you expected, not like outdoors, but not stale like other ships you’ve been on.
But the Enterprise isn’t like other ships.
You follow the crowd, trying to take it all in. How modern, how sleek and shiny it all feels.  The commander shows you to how to operate the turbolifts, and how to check on the computer which areas of the ship you’re authorised to visit.
“These are your quarters. You four are in here,” she indicates you, Jasveer, Ayre and Corrine, second violinist in the string quartet, “And you”—she indicates to the rest of the musicians—“are here and here. I’m sorry you have to share; our usual guest and diplomatic quarters are all full, so we’ve had to assign cadet quarters. I’ll give you a minute to have a look around, then we can have a proper tour.”
A murmur of thanks ripples across your group, but before the door to your quarters opens, the comm chimes.
“Bridge to Number One, Captain Pike requests that you report to the diplomatic quarters on deck four. Our guests need some assistance.”
“Acknowledged.” She sighs, and you get the impression that they’ve been struggling with the ‘guests’ for a while. “I’m sorry, I’m going to have to postpone our tour. Please make yourselves at home, and feel free to use the gym and the rec rooms. I understand you’ll need sound-proof spaces to practice? I’ll have the quartermaster organise something for you.”
She starts back along the corridor toward the turbolift, but turns back.
“Normally the captain would want to cook for you in his quarters this evening, but the Maur Asani can’t eat our food, so we’re having a reception in the Officers’ Lounge instead, at 20:00. I’m sure he’ll invite you another time.”
It must just be your imagination, but you can’t help but think she looks at you as she says that.
Tumblr media
Your quarters turn out to be comfortable, with a good size common area, even if you have a bed pod rather than a bedroom. But you only stay long enough to get settled; you’re all eager to see more of the ship, with or without a tour.
The mess hall has a much nicer ambiance than you expected compared to the few other ships you’ve been on. It’s less utilitarian; it almost feels like a restaurant. You’re amused by the looks you get from the few crew members who are around – mostly friendly, but there’s curiosity there too.
“Is that Neptune? I’ve never seen it this close before.” Ayre’s voice is full of wonder, and you follow their gaze out one of the windows. They pull out one of the white chairs and sit, and you do too, all your attention focused outside.
“It must be. It’s beautiful,” you hear that note of wonder in your own voice too. The planet outside is shades of dark blue, but there are a few wispy little white clouds around a large dark storm system.
You watch as Neptune recedes from view, replaced by a vista of sparkling stars. And then you hear a note change on the ship, a deep rumble you hadn’t really been aware of until now. You open your mouth to say something to Ayre, but before you can, the stars stretch out into filaments, and you know you’ve jumped to warp.
“I love looking at the stars like this. My dad used to say he could tell what warp factor a ship was travelling at from the note of its engine. He was in the fleet,” Ayre says, still looking out the window.
“Any guess on what speed this is?”
“Warp three,” they say with conviction, but then they laugh. “Actually, I have no idea. He transferred to Earth when I was little…”
Tumblr media
A good thing about sharing quarters is that there’s less room for over-thinking. You all troop back to them after dinner in the mess hall – you had intended to see a bit more of the ship, but something about the warp stars was special for all of you – to change for the reception.
You know you’ll see Chris there.
But while you want to look good, you don’t want to be seen by your friends to be trying too hard. You wear clothes that are smart but comfortable, and you try hard to be calm, and not to think about your excitement. Or nerves.
“Are you okay?” Jas asks as the turbolift doors open. “You seem a bit… a bit…”
“Subdued. Yeah.” Ayre nods and their brow furrows. “Are you feeling space sick or something? I’m sure they can help in sickbay, if you are.”
Evidently you tried too hard. You shake your head as you lead the way into the corridor.
“I’m fine. I’m definitely not sick, I—”
“No, Admiral April, Captain Pike. No. This is entirely unsuitable. No. We will not stay a moment longer. Good evening.”
A group of aliens sweep out of the lounge and along the corridor, the same ones you saw at the concert yesterday, and your back hits the wall as you make room for them and their flowing robes. Up close you can see that the stone in the middle of the lead alien’s forehead, glimmering red and orange, is not jewellery, but seems to be embedded into their skin with green-blue veins spidering outward from it into their brownish grey skin. There’s variation in skin tone among the delegation, and in the colours of their stones, but you don’t get a chance to study them further before they are in the turbolift.
“Deck four,” you hear as the doors close.
“Ah damn. Guess we should go after them? I was looking forward to a drink.” Chris has emerged from the lounge, looking good in a gold uniform today. He actually winks at you as he passes, and you bite your lip to control your smile.
“We’d better. Put out that spark before it catches fire.” Admiral April directs an apologetic smile at you, before addressing everyone. “You should all go through to the reception, though. Someone should have some fun.”
“Thanks, Admiral,” you say, and walk on down the corridor. You can feel Ayre beside you, itching to say something, but they manage to restrain themselves until after you hear the turbolift doors close again.
“Well I think we have our explanation. I can’t believe you didn’t say!”
“I didn’t say what?”
“That we’re on the ship with that officer from last night, and, hello, how hot is he? Back me up here Jas? I thought so yesterday, but— Oh, you weren’t there. You saw him though, Corrine? At the stage door? You remember – he was waiting when we got there, and—”
You head into the lounge, busy with the other musicians and support staff, and crew in and out of uniform. There has to be a glass of water around somewhere.
Tumblr media
You hoped, after you’d had breakfast, that Chris might be taking the tour you were promised yesterday. You were happy to see him yesterday, and happy that he still seemed interested in you; you just wished you could have spent some time with him. You aren’t really surprised, though, when Commander Chin-Riley meets you outside your quarters.
You enjoy getting to see the guts of the ship in engineering – you’ve never actually seen a warp core before, and you find the scale of it a little overwhelming – and the nerve centre on the bridge is fascinating too, though there’s an officer in a red shirt on the bridge where Chris would usually sit. Captain Pike, when he’s there. You wonder if the captain is still putting out fires.
It’s the afternoon now; the instrumentalists all do hours of practice every day, and even Ayre had retired to your quarters with repertoire to learn for their next gig – somewhere in Europe – after you had both gotten done practicing.
But you enjoy exploring by yourself; you find the gym and the swimming pool before heading to the arboretum.
Engineering should have prepared you for the scale of the arboretum, but you stop just inside the doorway, slightly stunned. You thought ‘arboretum’ would be an exaggeration, and there would be a few sad, droopy looking specimens in pots.
Instead, there are actual trees growing on a starship. Plants aren’t really your thing, and you don’t recognise any, but you think by the colours of some of the leaves – blues, purples and silvers mixed in with the greens you’re familiar with – that they’re not all from Earth.
It’s quiet, like most of the common areas seem to be during the day shift, and you enjoy walking along the paths that are laid out between sections of trees, and flower beds. There are some scents you recognise, like rose and lavender, and others you don’t, both floral and woody. You pass benches, and even a pool.
A botanist is working in one of the beds, his blue uniform standing out among pink and orange blossoms, and he tells you, animated, about how they simulate seasons for some of the plants by modifying the temperature of the beds, and about his research project on the effects of warp fields and subspace on plant growth. You don’t understand the latter part, but you enjoy his enthusiasm. He seems young, and he doesn’t have a stripe on his jacket, so you think he must be quite junior on the ship.
You’re walking again when you hear a soft, whispery voice, slightly hesitant.
“Excuse me? You’re the singer, aren’t you?”
“One of the singers, yes,” you turn, smiling, to see one of the aliens – the Maur Asani – approaching. You’re struck again by how tall he is, orange-gold jewel sparkling on his pale forehead.
He extends his hand. “I am Eshar. I believe this is the correct human greeting? I wanted to say how much we enjoyed your singing the evening before last. It was truly beautiful.”
You take his hand, cool in yours, and shake it. “Yes, a handshake is good. And thank you, I really appreciate that.”
“It was a balm to my spirits. It reminded me of the feel of listening to Asani…” he trails off, something distant in his dark grey eyes.
“Asani? Forgive me if I got it wrong, but your species is Maur Asani? I don’t understand.”
“More accurately, we are the Maur from the planet Asani. All the music, but your performance in particular, reminded us of the songs it sings, and how it feels. Negotiations have been difficult, but it made us think that we must have something in common with your Federation, and that partnership is worth pursuing.”
You blink. “Wow. Thank you, that’s very… Wait, your planet sings? How? How do you hear your planet sing?” Belatedly you realise your question may be inappropriate, but he doesn’t seem to take offence.
“Our ecosystem is a collective consciousness. I hear it through my hala’an.” He taps the jewel on his head. “These crystals are embedded in most living things on the planet, animal and plant, and together we form our song. We can hear when everything is in balance, the love that life has for living... or if things are wrong, and there is suffering and sadness… a few among us can even hear subtleties like weather approaching, and some can... influence... the song, to a narrower or wider degree. But we are far from Asani here, and to be without the song for this long is a trial.”
“So you’ve travelled away from Asani before?” You fall into step, walking again, among the trees.
His brow creases. “Before this trip, the longest I had been without the song was two days, on a trip to our furthest colony, Maur Ilamin. Ilamin’s voice is different to Asani’s, but it completes us in the same way. The trees on the ships, and the trees on your Earth, have helped me on this journey. They do not sing, but they remind me of home. I feel better here.”
You spend time talking, you telling him about music, and him telling you about Asani, and what you can expect when you arrive there. You’re eager to see it, even though you’re several days away still, because it sounds so different to Earth.
After a while, your curiosity gets the better of you.
“Last night… in the Observation Lounge. You all left as we were getting there. If you don’t mind me asking, what happened? Why was that?”
He stops walking, and looks at you, thoughtful. You hope he can see from your expression that you didn’t have any ill-intent in asking.
“Being away from Asani… it is hard for me, but harder for Emlo, first negotiator, because his link to Asani is deeper. And humans, other species on Earth… one cannot tell by looking who is senior. We Maur can always tell among ourselves by the colour of the hala’an. The stronger the link, the higher the rank. On the ship we can tell because of the arm stripes. But yesterday, with so many of the crew not wearing their normal clothes, Emlo thought one of them was a musician. His mistake shamed us, so we withdrew.”
“That sort of error wouldn’t be a shame to a human. A minor embarrassment, maybe, but not shame. Thank you for telling me all this. And telling me about Asani. I look forward to singing for you there.”
“As I look forward to hearing you.”
Tumblr media
You have two stops when you leave the arboretum. The first is to your quarters, where you’re happy to find Corrine and Jas as well as Ayre. You explain your plan to them and they think it’s a good idea, and you leave them to get the other singers and musicians on board.
Your second stop, after consulting the computer and finding that it isn’t off limits, is the captain’s ready room.
“Enter.” Chris sounds a little resigned, you think, as the door opens and you walk through. Your first impression is space, and the massive screen in front of you with a diagram on it; maybe a star chart? You aren’t sure. Your eyes sweep the room; there are armchairs to your left, and Chris is to your right, head bent over a PADD at his desk. You note the horse sculpture to his right, and you think it fits.
“Captain Pike,” you say with a smile, and he looks up, surprise turning into a lop-sided grin on his handsome face.
“You are… not who I expected.” he puts his PADD down and stands. “Can I offer you a drink? You don’t have a performance today.”
You shake your head. “No thanks, better not. This isn’t a social call I’m afraid.”
“Oh?” He sits back down, and gestures to the chair on the other side of his desk. “Here to complain about the size of your quarters?”
You sit, grateful to have the desk between you; the slight distance helps you concentrate on what you want to say a little more. Rather than your focus being solely on him, and how his proximity is making you feel.
“The pods are surprisingly comfortable. I don’t think your cadets can have much problem with them. Though I guess they may… stifle socialisation a bit? But that’s probably the point.”
He laughs at that. “Touché. It’s better if the cadets aren’t juggling heartbreak with learning the ropes around here. So, what can I do for you?”
“The reason I’m here is because I had a chat with Eshar, one of the Maur Asani delegates earlier. He told me about them, their planet, and what went wrong yesterday.”
Chris winces. “Yes, everyone in uniform at all times. Bob Admiral April – has had words on the subject. He’s with them now, still trying to smooth things over. They don’t seem to like to leave their quarters, or they’d all be in here now.”
“I think their real problem is stress. They aren’t natural explorers – being physically apart from their planet is hard for them. Homesickness is the nearest we would come, I guess, though I haven’t even thought of Earth since I got here. But for them...”
You tell him about your conversation, and the idea you had. By the end, he’s nodding. “I’ll make the arrangements,” he says, and you know your plan is in safe hands.
Tumblr media
You can’t help but smile as you go through the doors to the arboretum once again. The lighting is muted, matching the ship’s evening, but there are thousands of fairy lights, picking out the edge of the paths and beds, and spiralling up some of the tree trunks and out along the branches, and the effect is magical.
There are tables here and there, with drinks, glasses, and finger food, and there’s a small stage set up with chairs for the string quartet, Jasveer’s practice keyboard, and space for a singer or two. As you watch you see crew, all in uniform, putting finishing touches to displays: putting out a tray here, or adjusting lights there.
“They pulled out all the stops,” Jas says, and you notice she and Corrine have paused next to you to take it all in.
“They really did. I mustn’t forget to thank Captain Pike. I just hope the Maur Asani enjoy it.”
“They will.” Ayre is confident as ever as they walk toward the stage, full silky black skirt billowing around them. “We should make a start.”
Tumblr media
As much as you love singing, you enjoy getting to people watch while others perform too. The string quartet is playing Mozart; Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, which seems appropriate, even if they could probably play it in their sleep. The Starfleet crew is mingling with Jas, Ayre, and the other singers, or sitting on the benches enjoying the music. The Maur Asani delegation are mingling, too. You aren’t an alien body language expert, but you think they’re much more relaxed than yesterday. They seem to appreciate the music and the environment, although their attention is particularly held by the vocalists.
“I believe we have you to thank for this evening,” Admiral April has joined you and he smiles, warm. “Chris says you’re the one that got them to open up about the difficulty of being away from their planet, and organised all this. I’m grateful – I didn’t understand why the trip here, on the Lexington, was so much less stressful, or why tempers seemed to fray more as we spent time on Earth.”
“Thank you, but I just had the idea. Captain Pike listened, and made it happen.” You smile, wry, thinking of various conductors you’ve had who’ve ignored your suggestions, even when you’ve known you were right. “And the crew did all the hard work to put this together. Some of them are going to perform, too.”
“Chris listens when it suits him.” April’s smile turns amused. “You have our gratitude, regardless. The Maur Asani are important to the Federation, and we appreciate anything that makes negotiating easier.” He nods. “Enjoy your evening.” The music ends on a flourish, and you head back to the stage.
Tumblr media
The notes of the Vulcan harp – the ka’athyra, glitter in the air. You can almost see them, in colours and patterns, each one adding to the harmonious whole. You were a little surprised when Spock, the chief science officer, was among the Enterprise crew members offering to play, but you’re very glad he did.
The evening is beginning to wind down. You’ve sung your last group of songs, and your whole performance went well. You were mostly technically sound, though as always you have one or two things you could improve, but most importantly you felt like you really connected with your audience. An audience you couldn’t help but notice included the captain, back in his green jacket. The one you’d hoped to help him take off.
Now you just get to listen as Spock plays. The style is so different to anything you’re used to, but it almost lulls you into a meditative state as you concentrate on the music.
“Drink?” You jump slightly as you realise Captain Pike is suddenly right beside you, handing you a glass.
“Thank you,” you smile politely, trying to cover your reaction to both the surprise and his sheer presence. Then you take a sip, and laugh. “Room temperature pineapple juice?”
“I know you performed already – I listened; your singing was beautiful – but I thought you might still like it.”
“I do. And thank you, I appreciate it.”
He takes your arm, and you let him steer you toward the trees.
“I can offer you Saurian brandy back in my quarters. And—” Something in his tone makes you look up at him, and you see some sort of light in his eyes. “I wondered if you’d like to stay to breakfast. Not to brag, but my pancakes are very good. What do you say?”
“French toast.” You can’t help grinning at his blank look. “That’s what I was going to offer you, when—” you gesture with your juice glass. “Yes. I say yes.”
“Excellent.” And before you know it, he’s taken your glass and set it down, drawn you up and across a flowerbed, activated a hidden service door, and pulled you through.
Tumblr media
There’s a fire. A warm, flickering light that’s the centrepiece of Chris’s quarters, contrasting with the simulation of the green forest outside the windows. You expected his space to be more sleek lines, more shine like the rest of the ship, and there is that, but it’s personal, too. And there’s a fire.
You turn, opening your mouth to ask him about it, but you gasp slightly as you get caught by the flames reflected in his blue eyes.
Chris smiles a small smile. Knowing. “Maybe we’ll save the brandy for another night.”
He brings a hand up slowly, fingers lightly settling on your face, and you lean into the touch, lean into him. You stare up into his eyes for a moment before his gaze flickers down to your lips, and then he’s kissing you. It’s gentle, to start, lips brushing lips, taking your time, enjoying the moment you’ve both been anticipating. But then you grip his green jacket, and the fire takes hold between you.

here are my sketches for OCtober days one (favorite oc) and three (old oc)
first is ocean moss (fae/they/it/she) probably from around the time they started dating gael (being when gael was in college and fae was still working as a model). they are from my nameless wip. uh. i'll call it wip: enoki if that's anything. anyways i like ocean a lot (though i did almost draw parker instead lol)
and then for old oc we have the character i used to play during classic recess roleplay in like... second grade? her name is lily padd and she's like a sorceress? technically this also could fall under redesign since she did not have a design but this was my best idea of what i would have liked in second grade (i had a bob, desperately wanted glasses, and the character was like a teacher at a magic school)
anyways yeah!

JR: Javi sat outside his quarters rocking himself, banging his back against the wall, counting under his breath. He knew the ESR had gone to find either Lilly or Joe even though he has said not to. It was his Job after all. He had made the mistake of returning to his quarters to See what needed to be done to make them habitual again and has instantly gotten overwhelmed. Everything was damaged by cold and smelled a bit like a cold graveyard. He had backed out quickly but knew it was to late to prevent the overload which was coming
LB: Lily heard the beeping from the ESR, and got up to follow them back to wherever Javi was at the time. She found him outside his quarters, and immediately sat next to him on the floor. She looked at Javi, and projected calm vibes. “Are you alright? I know it’s a massive clean up, and we’ll get through it. You’re also welcome to stay in our quarters until it’s been sorted.”
JR: Javi just let out a whine from between his teeth, slapping his hand on his thighs as he rocked. Part of his mind reminded him that Lily hadn’t see him have a meltdown before and wouldn’t know what was going on. That she didn’t know that he wouldn’t be able to talk
LB: She truly didn’t know what was happening, nor did she know how to help. While still projecting calm, she looked at the ESR for guidance.
JR: the ESR bleeped at her before nudging at Javi’s bag. Inside was Javi’s padd, a sketch boot and a small drawstring bag. It bleeped again and showed a computer emoji
LB: She nodded and reached for Javi’s bag, bringing out the pad and other items; setting them next to Javi.
JR: the ESR beeped and the Pad screen lit up. A folder called autism was on the screen, partially filled with colourful slides. It looked like Javi had been making it for lily
LB: Lily sat silently and read through the slides on Javi’s pad, reading slowly and being silent. She knew he must have seen his quarters and it was overwhelming. Turning to Javi, she asked, “Would you like to go to the cultivation bay?…” She continued to project calm, as she had done when he was in med bay.
JR: Javi looked at her, unable to make any decisions, words just going straight over his head. The lights in the corridor were too bright and he could here them humming. He could here the whole ship humming
LB: She spoke softly, “Computer, dim the lights and muffle the sound.” Immediately she noticed the lights dim and the ship sounded a bit quieter. There had been no judgement that he didn’t answer her, and she sat next to him silently.
JR: Javi wanted pressure and to curl up but the corridor wasn’t the place for it, but words still weren’t possible and he couldn’t work out how to communicate with Lilly. He rocked harder into the wall
LB: She looked at Javi again and spoke softly, “Would you like a hug?” She remembered what she had read, and thought it a good question to ask.
JR: Javi leaned into her instead of answering, clicking with his tongue
LB: She wrapped her arms around him and held him, still projecting calm.
JR: Javi takes her hands and try’s to pull her arms tighter round him. When in this state, the firmer the pressure the better, to light of a touch would send him into an even bigger spiral
LB: She followed his lead and hugged him as tightly as she could, while hopefully not restricting his ability to breathe.
JR: Javi’s hands were shaking like a leaf, another side effect of a meltdown. He spotted his padd and grabbed at it frantically being up a program. Tapping it, it started to speak- “Need quiet, pressure, soft.”
LB: She noticed his hands shaking and she listened to the program on the pad as it played. She remained where she was, silent and hugged Javi tightly.
JR: -Javi tapped again- “people will come. They will see. Need to hide.”
LB: She listened and spoke softly again, “Computer, open the doors to my quarters.” The doors opened, and she waited without making any sudden movements.
JR: -Javi flinched at the sudden noise of the doors, slamming his hands over his ears-
LB: She remained silent and sat there hugging Javi.
JR: -the pad spoke again ‘cuddle pile somewhere softer? Yours?’
LB: She nodded, “Yes, my quarters are open.” She made no sudden movement and answered the questions the pad had spoken.
JR: ‘Help. Legs not co-operating’ -Javi bit his own hand letting out a loud whine in annoyance-
LB: She gently tried to help Javi to stand, though she didn’t want to interfere with his ability to decide for himself what he wanted to do.
JR: -Javi tried to help, his legs shaking as much as his hands. He wanted to get somewhere safe he could curl up warm, everything was screaming at him to get into lilys quaters, that it’s safe in there, but his body wasn’t co-operating-
LB: She slowly attempts to stand while trying to help Javi stand as well.
JR: -Javi is up right but unsure about how to get any further-
LB: She smiled at Javi, and began to walk slowly one step at a time toward her now open quarters.
JR: -Javi closes his eyes, clicking his tongue, letting lily lead. It was easier to balance if he muted one of his other senses/
LB: She walked slowly, one step at a time until they reached the sofa in her quarters. The living room was dimly lit, the stars shining outside in space. Her two cats had been having a nap in a hammock attached to the window. Her pillows and mushroom duvet were on the sofa, as well as a mushroom stuffie. She sat down slowly, hugging Javi tightly when they did. Hopefully ESR had followed and didn’t remain in the hallway, her focus was on Javi.
JR: -Javi moved himself so he was curled round lily, his head in her lap, face hidden in her stomach. He would move if she wanted him to and held himself stiffly waiting for her approval-
LB: She reached for the blanket and wrapped it around Javi, gently rubbing his back. The cats continued their nap, not making a sound.
JR: -Javi let tears fall as whining started in his throat. He let himself fall apart properly knowing he was safe-
LB: She kept holding Javi, gently rubbing his back and singing an old Gallifreyan lullaby that she used to sing to her children.
JR: -it seemed to take forever for the wave of overwhelming feeling to past and for Javi to stop crying. His head was pounding and everything was still to much but he felt slightly more in control-
LB: She remained sat where she was, making no attempt to get up though she wanted to offer Javi some tea.
JR: -Javi looked up at lily, his face white and tremors occasionally running through his body- “Hi” -he wasn’t fully verbal yet but one word answers he could do-
LB: She smiled, continuing to gently rub his back and kept the blanket wrapped around him. “Hello.” Thinking about the tea again, she decided to ask. “Would you like some tea? It can wait if you’re not ready.”
JR: -Javi thought for a moment- “Jasmine” -his go to post meltdown tea-
LB: Looking at Javi she spoke softly, “I’m going to get up to get the tea, and I’ll be right back.” She still made no sudden movement, waiting a moment before trying to stand and leave the sofa.
JR: -Javi still flinched at the loss of contact but nodded. He hadn’t had a meltdown like this for sometime-
LB: She hugged him before she left to walk to the replicator, bringing back two mugs of tea and handing him his before she sat down next to him again.
JR: -Javi’s hands shock round the cup and he looked at lily quickly- “help”
LB: She nodded, her mug already set aside on the end table. Gently she held his hands while he held the cup.
JR: -he looks from the cup to lily- “sorry” -he swollows hard- “useless” -he half wants to run and hide in a Jeffers tube but knows his legs won’t let him-
LB: She looked at Javi, “It’s alright, and you are not useless.” She wasn’t sure if was an aftershock of what happened nor why he thought that of himself when he had thought ahead and provided her instructions to help him.
JR: -Javi could feel himself spiralling. He couldn’t hold a cup or speak more then one word at a time. He was making his friend baby him when she should@be spending time with Joe-
LB: She felt her hearts breaking, and tried to be what Javi needed at that time. She continued to help hold the cup, holding his hands. Joe was on the bridge, she knew everything would be alright.
JR: -Javi knew drinking straight out the cup wasn’t going to work. The ESR carried silicon drink straws but he was currently MIA. He looked at lily- “straw?”
LB: She nodded and would stand up in a moment. “I do keep some in the kitchen. I’ll be right back.” Looking around she noticed the ESR wasn’t in the room with them.
This was concerning, because it was usually close.
JR: -Javi pressed the pendent round his neck. It was a call button for the ESR. It wasn’t responding. He flapped his hands waiting for lily to return-
LB: She quickly walked to the kitchen and retrieved a straw, placing it in Javi’s cup for him. The ESR not being there also had her alarmed, and she looked at Javi. “I’m going to check the corridor for ESR.” Again she waited before getting up again.
JR: -Javi again clicked the button. If ESR was within 250 meters he would have responded-
LB: She stood and walked to the doors of her quarters, looking around. The last place she had seen ESR and she was concerned because it hadn’t responded to Javi’s call.
JR: -Javi could feel himself starting to panic but tried not to let it rise. Maybe the ESR had thought they needed extra support and gone looking for joe.-
“Joe?”
LB: She tapped her communication badge, @Joseph_Bede “Have you seen ESR recently?” While waiting for him to reply she held her breath.
JR: -Javi wrapped the blanket more tightly round himself and laid curled into a ball on the sofa, still seeking pressure-
LB: She returned to the sofa, sitting on the floor and hugging Javi.
JR: -Javi moves himself enough so his head is off the sofa and resting on lilys shoulder-
LB: She gently rubbed his arm, beginning to sing softly to him like she did earlier.
JB: While he had been on the bridge he heard a beeping, and turned to have a look. Knowing this was important he stood up to leave the bridge. He would use the teleporter, first checking the cultivation bay before checking their quarters.
JR: -Javi closed his eyes, abstantly biting at his thumb, his body still shaking randomly, half dozing-
LB: She continued to hug him and sing to him, keeping the blanket securely wrapped around him.
JR: -even in his half awake state Javi was wondering were ESR was-
JB: He walked into his quarters, immediately walking over and sitting on the floor next to his wife and where Javi could see him. “Are you alright?”
JR: -looks at Joe and shakes his head. Without removing his hand from his mouth he touches the calling pendant round his neck again to no effect-
JR: -looks at Joe and shakes his head. Without removing his hand from his mouth he touches the calling pendant round his neck again to no effect-
JB: He nodded, looking between Javi and his wife while remaining sat on the floor.
LB: She remained where she was, still hugging Javi and resting her head against Joseph’s shoulder.
JR: -Javi hadn’t noticed he had drawn blood where he was chewing at his thumb, his eyes unfocused, stil shuddering at random intervals. Beeping was heard from near by-
LB: She continued to hug Javi while resting her head against Joseph’s shoulder, and she heard the beeping which she hoped was ESR.
JB: He held his wife and rubbed her back, unsure of what he could do for Javi at the moment.
JR: -The beeping got louder and the little robot skidded into view. He was filthy and leaving dirty marks wherever he want but he skidded straight up to Lilly and opened his compartment. Stuffed tightly inside was something fluffy and blue-
LB: She turned to look at the robot, taking out the stuffie and setting it on Javi’s midsection. “What happened?” She asked ESR.
JB: He closed his eyes for a moment, thinking that the room could be sorted later.
JR: -Javi eyes cleared slightly as he grasps the stuffy and hugs it tight to his chest and uses the odd to talk- “this was in my room, hidden, he must have gone through the air ducks to get in and find it”
LB: She listened and hugged Javi, “That explains where he went.” Again she turned to ESR, “Were you able to take photos of his quarters while you were there?”
JB: He sighed, thinking of the upcoming court martial.
JR: -The ESR bleeped and Javi’s padd lit up with pictures causing him to drop it and scramble away-
LB: She reached for the pad that had been dropped and passed it to Joseph, more focused on Javi then the pad. He could sort it.
JB: He smiled, watching his wife and trying to keep his mind out of the rubbish bins. When he had the pad he stood up and began to scroll through the photos. He was livid though he knew to let JAG sort it, they had evidence past his ears hopefully.
JR: -Javi curled into himself. His dinosaur trapped against his body, his arms wrapped around his legs, trying to provide as much pressure as possible as he rocked. He couldn’t get the images out of his head. The cold damage was terrible but it was obvious someone had been in there again and just trashed the place, it was 10 times worse then when he had done it. His art work destroyed, the slurs rewritten on the walls-
JB: He glanced from the pad to Javi and his wife, and scrolled through the images again. He was livid when he seen the art destroyed and the slurs especially enraged him. Shaking his head he swore in Gallifreyan.
LB: She continued to hug Javi, and blinked back tears as she seen the images due to the bond she and Joseph shared.
JR: -Javi had gone mostly numb which was possibly a good thing with the waves of colours coming from being touched by lily. His mind was slow, like walking through thick fog, and everything seemed far away-
LB: She was hurt by seeing the destroyed art and the slurs, humanity hadn’t evolved any though she hoped by now they would have. Now she only focused on Javi, trying to be comforting and soothing.
JB: He sent copies of the photos to his pad, and set it down on the table. Rather than walking back over he sat down in his chair for a few moments, trying to calm himself down.
JR: -Javi looked up suddenly his face covered in silent tears but his voice a monotone- “you should both stay away. I’m obviously a danger to everyone.” -the ESR immediately started beeping and showing angry emojis, obviously trying to tell Javi what it thought of that idea-
LB: She looked at Javi, “No, we won’t say away unless that is what you want. The ones who are responsible for this, are the danger to everyone.” She continued to hug him, feeling as though she had failed him.
JB: He looked at Javi and also his wife, hearing the ESR beeping. He agreed with what his wife had just said. Leaning forward he rested his head in his hands, “The only danger onboard is the cunts who think those slurs are acceptable to use.”
JR: -Javi folded in on himself, retuning his head to its previous position on lilys lap, needing to be close to someone. He didn’t know what to think or do.-
LB: She continued to hug Javi, and began to sing to him again in Gallifreyan.
JB: He stood up and walked to the replicator, getting cups of tea that he had seen were previously on the table. The new cups he set down on the table, and he sat down on the floor again by the sofa.
JR: -he reached out and tentivly started to play with Joe’s hair, ready to snap his hands back the minute he sensed any disapproval from the other man. The ESR started trying to match it a beeps to Lilys singing with limited success-
JB: He leaned his head back and closed his eyes, smiling. He was thankful for the distraction from his thoughts.
LB: She smiled, continuing to hug Javi as she sang. ESR could be taught Gallifreyan, as could Javi.
JR: -Javi firmed up his fingers slightly, smiling even as he shuddered, glades to be surrounded by friends-
JB: He reached for his wife’s hand and also extended his other to Javi. They would get through this, together.
LB: While she continued to hug Javi she also held Joseph’s hand, resting her head against his and smiling. There was still light in the dark.
JR: -Javi took Joes hand nuzzleing lilys leg where his head rested and giggling slightly as ESR tried to do a stunt only to hit a wall

So uhh- when I’m bored I think about sparklecare ocs a lot as kind of a creative thing, and I drew some of them!
Oliver and Daisy are a couple. Oliver was really close to Tier and worries that they haven’t contacted him.
Neemi is Hipnyo’s little sister. She’s a teenager and she’s usually really quiet. She suspects something is wrong with the hospital but can’t get any proof
Lily and Sawfty were also Tier’s friends. Lily was the one who suggested Sparklecare because she wanted Tier to be safe, much to Oliver’s disapproval.
The last character never got an official name, it was just a character for a vague concept I never did
I might go more into detail later on about about each of them

Let’s do a weird headcanon thing:
1. What they smell like: A subtle hint of sweet perfume, floral, either roses or water lilies. Freshly brewed coffee. A clean smell that leaves you feeling safe and sound. At night, the spice of whiskey.
2. How they sleep (sleeping position, schedule, etc): Poorly. It’s a miracle if she can manage 5-6 hours. The norm for the Captain is 4 hours. Typically, she reads in order to wind down as part of her night-time ritual. Sometimes, Janeway reviews reports on her PADD. Usually, you’ll see an actual book in hand - a relic, an artifact - that is an anthology of poems. She often sleeps in a pink nightgown, but often will settle for a loose-fitting t-shirt and pajama pants. She sleeps on her side, forearm tucked beneath her cheek, but she tosses and turns like the sea.
3. What music they enjoy: While in the Da Vinci holodeck or her other historical holodeck excursions, she enjoys classical music. Think Debussy and Bach. I imagine she appreciates the rasp of Janis Joplin, the melodies and rock of Earth’s past.
4. How much time they spend getting ready every morning: Getting up takes the longest for Kathryn. Upon tossing back the covers, she’ll stagger towards the replicator to fetch herself a cup of coffee, black. She showers the night before. Mornings are devoted to washing her face, slapping on a hint of makeup to feel human, to show the crew that she’s find, that they’ll survive, and then slips into the uniform. The pips are saved for last. Overall, it takes her 45 minutes. Thirty, if she’s swift.
5. Their favorite thing to collect: Art. Small, movable objects. Think postcards. Arguably, however, she has a penchant for collecting strays.
6. Left or right-handed: Right-handed.
7. Religion (if any): Faith is complicated for Janeway. Having grown up in an Irish Catholic household, some tenets of religion remain. Yet, her father taught her to question everything, including orthodoxy. With an entity like Q, she knows that Gods are real, but the thought is one she pushes against. It never settles well with her.
8. Favorite sport: Velocity with Seven. ;)  Naturally, Kathryn is a sore loser.
9. Favorite touristy thing to do when traveling: Visit all the museums. Appreciate the works of art, both remembered and forgotten.
10. Favorite kind of weather: Warm and sunny summer nights, but she’s come to appreciate the calm before the storm where the wind shakes and rattles the trees.
11. A weird / obscure fear they have: She’s grappled with fear, danced with it, wrestled fear. She knows the inevitability of fear, no matter how silly those woes may be. The fear of dying alone, of being truly alone, with no one - not a damn thing to keep her sane - is a haunting prospect, but as Janeway says in ‘The Thaw,’ “ You know as well as I do that fear only exists for one purpose: to be conquered.“ Starfleet captain's don't easily succumb to fear.
12: A carnival / arcade game that they will win every time: The game where you pop balloons with darts. Her aim is a veritable force to be reckoned with.

6. Tension
I’ve always loved the line, “Have courage and be kind,” from Cinderella, so I’m using it here.
-
Calla wasn’t really sure what started the fight, but she could feel the tension brewing beneath the surface all the same. Lialyah was clenching her fork with defiance in her eyes, and Soraya was looking between her and her mama, clearly afraid of what was going to happen next. Calla cleared her throat.
“Caia, please take Soraya out to the greenhouse. The plants need tending.” Soraya all but bolted out the door while Caia collected their plates at a more sedate pace and placed them on the counter. Calla wished she would hurry up. The door shut, and Lialyah flung her fork across the table. Calla caught it with practised ease.
“Did you even try? Did you even try to get the mommies and daddies out?” Calla’s face remained neutral as she rearranged food on her plate. “Everyone at school blames you, you know, for losing their parents. Why didn’t you beam them out, too?” Lialyah cried.
“Lialyah, it was an impossible task. There was no way to match up the children we beamed out with the adults we beamed out. There wasn’t time. We just took everyone we could. The captains of the other ships- the ones who took people off the streets physically- will tell you the same thing.”
“Why didn’t you get mother?” Ah, the real root of the problem.
“I tried to, but she was not at home, and she was not at the Academy. I could not locate her.”
“You didn’t look hard enough!” Lialyah cried angrily. Secretly, Calla agreed with her, but she couldn’t tell her five year old that. “If you had looked harder, maybe we could have taken her to the Fragment! Maybe she wouldn’t have been hurt and needed the Fragment at all!” All of this had played through Calla’s mind a thousand times before. She did not know why she had failed to find her late wife, and it kept her awake most nights, digging her fingers into the damp earth around the Risa lilies.
Lialyah’s plate went flying next, and before Calla knew it, the girl was also flying- out the door. Calla was on her feet immediately, after her. She tackled the sobbing girl about a second after she had banged on Sarek and Amanda’s side door and was in the process of dragging her back to their own dwelling when Amanda opened the door and saw Lialyah struggling in Calla’s arms. Her brow knit with concern.
“I apologise for the intrusion,” Calla began, Lialyah wailing in her arms. “She threw a plate and was out the door before I could grab her. She’s not happy with me right now.”
Amanda merely held out her arms for the struggling girl. Calla looked at Amanda again. “Are you sure?”
“Well, she wanted one of us for a reason.” Calla released Lialyah, and she went hurtling into Amanda’s arms. Calla stood limply in the yard between the two houses.
“I don’t know what to do with her anymore,” Calla confessed. “She blames me for N’kaia’s death.” I blame me for N’kaia’s death, too. “I will collect her in an hour.”
“How about I bring her back when she’s ready?”
“That may take more time than you have.”
“We’ll see. Go do something for yourself now.” Calla shrugged a little and let Amanda take Lialyah into her house. She herself walked back to the greenhouse to let Caia and Soraya know that it was safe to come back in. She then retreated back to her bedroom and locked the door, heeding Amanda’s words.
-
It would be late on Illyria, but she thought perhaps her parents would still be awake, so she tried them on her PADD. They looked as if they had been preparing for bed, but they were pleased nonetheless to see her. Their pleasure turned to concern the moment they saw her face.
“I don’t know what to do,” she confessed. “Ever since N’kaia died, I have been adrift. My own child says she hates me. I am so close to quitting the ambassadorship and bringing both of the girls back to Illyria where I can hand them off to the Schools to raise them. That’s how much I don’t believe I can raise them myself, even with Caia and Sarek and Amanda. Lialyah is with Amanda now, telling her Alchemy knows what. Soraya is terrified of our fights. She barely talks. I have one child that screams and another that won’t talk at all. And I...I am broken. I dream of N’kaia’s hand slipping out of mine on Vulcan. I dream of things that did not even happen. I dream of the destruction of the planet I held dear over and over again.” Calla went on like this, voicing her fears and her pains like she never had with her parents before until she fell silent.
“My sweet child, you do not deserve to suffer like this,” her mother said. “You really should look into a mind healer, for all of you. You have been through so much in the past six months, more than most people experience in a lifetime. It isn’t fair to expect yourself to process it on your own. Contact House Larynth tomorrow. They will be able to help you.” Calla hung her head. “It is not a weakness to need help, my child. Many good people see mind healers.”
“I suppose you’re right. It’s just that the culture is so different here. Emotion is suppressed and hidden here and…”
“And you are not Vulcan, my dear,” her father pointed out. “No matter how long you have spent on the planet. Your children are also only half-Vulcan. Furlings are a passionate people. Your children will need a little extra help learning the balance between Vulcan and Furling handling of their emotions.”
“But I didn’t have this problem growing up!”
“You are remembering your childhood rather differently, then. You were...rather volatile. Before your Rite, you wholly embraced your emotions. You hated everything to do with Vulcan. You wouldn’t have anything to do with the way of logic if it killed you. You begged us to leave you on Illyria after your Rite. Of course, we brought you back with us. You told us you hated us then, as Lialyah tells you she hates you now. You settled down after that. Whatever you saw in your sacred geometry, you embraced Vulcan. You embraced logic, and you were no longer the passionate young woman you once were. Oh, your emotions came out here and there. You weren’t a total student of logic. What I’m getting at is that if Lialyah is anything like you, she may do a complete turnabout in the way she controls her emotions as she ages. It’s okay for her to embrace her emotions as a Furling, and it’s okay for her to embrace them as a Vulcan would. You cannot force her to go one way or another. But what it does sound like is that she is hurting very deeply and is very confused about how she feels and would benefit greatly from a mind healer. That much you can help her with.”
“A mind healer is only going to be able to do so much, though, since we’re so far from Illyria. They need direct contact to do their work, I thought.”
“They do, this is true. But there is a Furling colony on Earth. Surely they will allow you some time away from New Vulcan to take yourself and the girls there for a week or two? Earth isn’t that far from New Vulcan.”
“I can ask…”
“You must. Your wellbeing must come first. If you cannot put your own wellbeing first, you should at least put Lialyah and Soraya first.”
“Yes. The girls must come first.” Calla looked at the clock in the corner of the screen. “I must check on Amanda and Lialyah. I don’t want to impose on Amanda more than I must. And I interrupted you two getting to bed. Thank you for talking me through this.”
“We are always here for you, Calla. Any hour.”
“Thank you, mother and father.”
“Let us know how things progress. And promise us you will contact House Larynth tomorrow.”
“I promise.”
-
Sarek left Lialyah to Amanda and retired to his study. The little girl was sobbing so hard that she was almost hyperventilating. Amanda focused on trying to get the little girl to breathe. She led her to the guest room and sat her on the bed, wrapping her arms around her.
“Now what has gotten you so wound up, little one?”
In between sobs and halting breaths, Amanda got out of the little girl that, “Mama hadn’t tried hard enough to save Mother.” Amanda’s heart broke. She knew that Calla had done everything she could to find N’kaia and that she had tried repeatedly to tell her girls this, but it apparently hadn’t gotten through.
Slowly, the sobs stopped, and Amanda stroked the girl’s braids. “What can we do to make you feel better now? How about some tea?”
“I want to talk to Spock,” the girl said, her breath shaky.
“Oh honey,” Amanda began, her voice hesitant. “I’m sure he’s probably asleep by now.”
“But he makes things make sense,” the Lialyah said, a whine in her voice.
“Well, let me see. I can’t promise,” Amanda said, warning in her voice. “Go sit at the kitchen table. I’ll make tea while you wait.” She set tea to brew, then went into Sarek’s study. She returned some minutes later with a PADD and set it on a stand in front of Lialyah, then went to fetch tea.
“Lialyah,” Spock said. “You are in distress.” The little girl squirmed in her chair as Amanda set tea before her.
“I hate my mama,” she told Spock, matter of factly. Spock frowned at her.
“That is not a kind thing to say, Lialyah.”
“It’s true.”
“Why do you hate your mother?”
“She let mother die. And then she didn’t get the body. And she also let so many other mommies and daddies die. That’s what everyone at school says.”
“Lialyah, your mama saved a lot of people, including the people at your school. That is very unfair of them to say that she let those people die. Her decisions saved a great deal of people.”
“You sound like her.”
“It’s true. The ship you lived on, the Corinth, saved over 600 Vulcans that would have died otherwise. And the ship that travelled with it, the Caspian, saved even more.”
“But the mommies and daddies-”
“Lialyah, there was no way to match up who was saved.”
“That’s what she said!”
“And she was right. We only had about 15 minutes from the time we found out that Vulcan was being destroyed to the time that it was gone. We were grabbing people off of the streets as we saw them. Your mother ordered her captain to take children out of the schools and then beamed down to the planet to look for your mother as soon as she knew you and your sister were aboard. She ran and looked everywhere that was logical. She could not find N’kaia. Lialyah, they almost did not get your mother back on board the Corinth before Vulcan was swallowed by the black hole. You almost lost both of your mothers. You have to stop blaming your mama for the loss of your mother.” Lialyah was looking down into her cup of tea.
“The other children at school…”
“They are being cruel and illogical because they are in pain. They lost their parents and are jealous that you still have your sister and a parent. You must learn to ignore their insults and their jibes. Do you remember what I told you the first time we talked?”
“That I must be brave and good.”
“Yes. It still applies here. You must still be brave and good. Your mama is still very sad. You and your sister are still very sad. Your mama is doing the best she can. She brought in Caia to help. You like Caia, do you not?”
“Yes,” Lialyah said quietly. “She always takes us on walks by the shipyards and the big greenhouses. Sometimes they let us go into the greenhouses if we promise not to touch anything.”
“Things will get better if you give them time. They got better from being on the ship, did they not?”
“Yes. We have a pretty house, and the Risa lilies bloomed, and we have a telescope.”
“See? Then you know that with patience, things will get better.”
“Caia says that we must have courage and be kind.”
“She is right. Be kind to the other children. They have lost a lot. If kindness is not enough to change them, then ignore them.”
“Alright...thank you for talking to me, Spock. You always know what to say, just like mother did. You would have liked her. She was really smart, just like you. That’s why I like talking to you. It’s kind of like having mother back, only you’re a boy.” Spock couldn’t help the small smile he gave the girl.
Calla was leaning against the doorframe, watching the latter half of the exchange. Her daughter hadn’t noticed her come in, too engrossed in her conversation with Spock. If he hadn’t been Vulcan, Calla thought that Spock would have made a half-decent mind healer. The PADD turned off, and Lialyah looked to Amanda, and then to the door behind her. She cringed.
“It’s okay, Lialyah,” Calla said softly, a note of tiredness creeping into her voice. “For now, you’re not in trouble. We’ll...discuss this later. It’s bedtime now.” Lialyah relaxed. “Thank Amanda for letting you over.” The little girl did so and hugged the older woman.
-
The next morning, Sarek and Amanda saw the Corinth quartet off in the shipyards. They were bound for Earth, to the Furling colony there.
“We’ll be gone for two weeks,” Calla said. The girls and Caia were already aboard the shuttle. “I’ll bring back the things you asked for, Amanda. This will be good for all of us. The girls and I will get the help we need, and Caia will enjoy exploring Earth.”
Amanda touched Calla’s arm. “I’m glad that you’re finally doing this,” she said softly. Calla put a hand over Amanda’s.
“I’m sorry I didn’t do it sooner, for the girls’ sake.”
“There was a lot going on. But it’s happening now, and that’s all that counts.”
Sarek held up a hand. “Live long and prosper.”
Calla held up her own hand. “Peace and long life.”

Fawn to Stag
Read lily's here.
James when finding out he will be a dad:
Standing quiet at first.
So many emotions, happy, scared, elated, nervous. Tears run down his cheeks, that's a lot of feelings for James.
He turns and picks Lily off her feet kissing her hard.
He runs to tell the guys.
Hes gonna be a-a dad...
James during Lily's pregnancy:
Constantly panicking in a muggle grocer like "does anyone know what a flaming cheeto is!!??"
Talks to Lilys Tommy every night while laying in bed.
Constantly has his hand casually draped over her belly.
Constantly driving Lily crazy telling her not to do things, or to let him help, because "I am pregnant James, not broken!"
Has a hard time not laughing when he comes home and Lily is crying, again, because she couldn't get the lid off the sauce jar and didnt think to use magic.
He learnt quickly laughing did NOT help.
James with a newborn:
So afraid to break him.
Hes so small.
Feels like he isnt much help to Harry, he always wants and needs Lily but helps happily whenever he can.
Even if that's just carrying his beautiful wife into bed after she falls asleep in the rocking chair, again.
Coming home one night to find out Harry was sick and had been crying all day and until late into the evening. Rem had come by about 20 minutes prior and took Harry to try and put him down.
James found Lily sobbing on the bathroom floor, covered in spit up and milk a mess she told him to leave.
Instead he undressed her carefully and lifted her into a warm bath where he washed her, by hand head to toe before carrying her to bed.
Remus and him stayed with Harry all night.
James with a toddler:
Cheers him on with every new milestone, usually with a tear in his eye though he will argue against it when brought up.
When Harry starts walking he constantly makes comments about how athletic he is and how he will be at quidditch.
Getting told to let him fall when he tumbles by lily. She constantly tells all the boys to let him learn.
James with an impatient ten year old:
Harry spent the whole summer up to his birthday bugging about his letter.
Harry pulls every ounce of Hogwarts knowledge out of James whenever they have a moment.
Lily scolds James and the boys for the types of stories they tell him.
He reminds Harry to be good and listen to his mom. But knows his uncle Padds is telling him just to not get caught...
James has him up on a broom practicing every chance he gets.
James with a seventh year:
At EVERY single game
James is the loudest and wears as much Gryffindor clothing as he can manage.
Harry writes James when hes stressed about school and his marks because he doesnt want to worry his mum.
Sometimes James, Rem and Sirius go visit and they just walk with Harry and talk for hours.
James with an Auror in training:
James spends a lot of time with lily. Reminding her that he is okay.
Holding her after she hangs up the phone as she sings his lullaby.
Distracting her with kisses on bare skin and touches that make her feel small, young and beautiful again.
He worries too.
James on his wedding day:
James spends a lot of time saying "no, theres just something in my eye okay!"
James is Harry's best man, which is totally untraditional but perfect. He stands alongside Ron, Dean, Neville and Seamus.
James dances with Lily as they talk about how beautiful their life has been.
James with grandchildren:
Usually doing things that gets the whole lot in trouble with Lily.
James loves toddlers.
He loves their chunky little legs and the way they waddle.
He takes all his grandchildren in their first broom ride. Harry loves that they do it with him.
Their grandmother and mother stand staring from the ground with their breaths caught. Every time.
James learns and loves and lives and grows.

Closed for @unbrxken Starring S’Chn T’Gai James & AU!S’Chn T’Gai Hailey
“All right, boys. Should be easy, so long as this lil’ beauty doesn’t give me any problems right this instant since it’s been on a righ’ good streak,” Lily jokes with a smile at the brothers as they step up. “You’ll be joinin’ Captain Mercer an’ co on th’ surface. On yer mark.”
James nods, turning to his brother. Once they’re both situated...
“Energize.”
But...
James freezes at the sight they’re greeted with instead, holding up an arm in front of his little brother out of reflex... in shock at what he sees.
Because it doesn’t make sense, as he watches the young woman sitting on the bench in the garden they’d appeared in instead, reading something on a PADD. How...?
He glances to Liam, but before they can back away, she notices them, smiling. “James! Liam! Good, I was just...”
She pauses, cocking her head. “James, I thought you had shore leave? Liam, what’s with the uniform? Unless I’ve spoiled a surprise.”

4
-Javi is working in engineering on making sure that the captains cats can’t access the computer when their padd dings. Looking at the screen they put down their tools and go to the cultivation bay where they hope to find lily.
@Lily_Bede_
LB: Lily was in the cultivation bay, lying in her hammock.
She was awake, and listening to the music of the mushrooms. It was peaceful and relaxing.
JR: hard to tell much about it other then it currently had no fur and it’s skin was purple. It had long pointed ears. Or currently one ear. 3 legs one of which seemed to be a badly fitted robotic leg. Where the 4 should have been was badly healed. One and and tail was also missing-
LB: She nodded, “We could always make a jump to the network if there’s any sightings of them, and could have a closer look if it’s safe to stop there.”
She looked at the pad when Javi handed it to her. “They look like they need a home. We can visit them,“… whenever you’d like.”
She would spoil any cat Javi adopted, as all cats deserved it.
JR: “The welfare group is currently trying to get the “rescue shelter” to hand him over to them but the shelter is refusing, and won’t say how he got into this state. They have put out a call for help which is how I got the ping.”
-looks at lily- “he is on a kill list”
LB: She nodded, “That isn’t happening because we are going there right now.”
Tapping her communication badge she spoke to the bridge, “I’m sending over coordinates now, set the highest warp because we have to hurry.”
Those on the bridge acknowledged her,…
… they were on their way to rescue this cat.
JR: “I don’t know what we are going to find when we get there. But if these photos of the place are anything to go by it won’t be pretty” -passes the padd back to lily with picture of the “rescue centre”- “are we going to be able@to handle this?”
LB: Sighing, “I’m one of the last of my kind, and that usually attracts attention especially if anyone is paying close enough attention.”
JR: “At least you know what you are, no-one been able to make sense of my dna. My starfleet folder just says human?” -stretches- “I’ll go put on some civilian clothes and meet you back here.”
LB:
Shenodded, “If I didn’t disclose to Starfleet what I am, I’m sure they would have classified me as human.”
Standing, she looked at Javi. “I’ll go change too.”
JR: -Javi nods and walks swiftly to his room. Stripping out of his uniform he drags on some ripped jeans with straps down the legs. A simple black T-shirt and arm warmers finish the outfit. Ducking into the fresher he ruffles his short hair with a bit of gel, messing up his regulation hairstyle. Smudged eyeliner round the eyes, a pistel strapped to one thigh and a dagger hidden in his calf boots and the transformation was complete. He smiles on the mirror. Lily had never seen him like this. He headed back to the cultivation bay. Bag in hand.
LB:
Lily had used the teleporter to send herself back to her room.
She stood looking through the closet, taking out a grey shirt and jeans along with a black leather jacket.
Quickly she changed out of her Captain’s uniform, and decided to arm herself to the gills, just in case. She pulled on a shoulder holster and had the spore gun concealed, as well as a dagger concealed in her boot.
She teleported herself back to the cultivation bay, looking as though she were taking her motorbikeout of the garage.
Looking at Javi, she smiled. “I’ve got the spore gun concealed, just in case. Hopefully we won’t need it.”
JR: -Javi wolf whistled teasingly- “lookin good captain. Mines strapped to my thigh and unlike you I’m not hiding it.”
LB: She smiled, “Thank you. In the past I had to conceal weapons, old habits die hard.”
JR: “Might be wise that only one of us seems armed this time. They won’t spot my dagger in my boot. We are not going to fight. It’s just a precaution.”
LB: She nodded, “That was why I concealed mine. With the photos you showed me of the place, walking in unarmed doesn’t seem safe. If a fight breaks out, we are both prepared. Hopefully it doesn’t happen.”
JR: “Shouldn’t do. I hate places like these that have no care do the animals.”
LB: She nodded, “Animals should be loved and protected, these places are horrid - especially when they don’t care for them properly.”
JR:
Roumors are this place is a cover for a animal fight ring.” -Javi digs in his bag making sure he has some basic animal first aid equipment as well as person first aid stuff-
LB: She nodded, “I’d say there’s a criminal element behind that bit. It’s a good thing we’ve decided to go armed to the gills, just in case we need to defend ourselves.”
JR: “Push comes to shove I could flood them with colours. I might not be in the best shape afterwards mentally but if it’s between that and preventing harm coming to anyone or anything I’d prefer that.”
LB: “Agreed, I’d rather use force as a last resort but if it’s necessary I’m not the type to back down and hide.”
JR: “Luckily my colours don’t actually harm anyone. Just make them feel stuff. Have we got an eta?”
LB: She nodded, “We should be there already, I told the bridge to use the highest warp setting.”
JR: “I suggest we shuttle down. We don’t want them to know we have a bigger ship near by and we don’t know if the cat will be stable enough for transporters”
LB: She nodded, “I was thinking that too, if they are the hostile sort they may attempt to fire or forcibly take over the ship. EMH should have a look at the cat, just to ensure he’s alright.”
JR: “We already know he isn’t going to be alright. I have basic animal first aid skills, something I picked up whilst working on discovery. Does the EMH even work for animals?”
LB: She nodded, “I’m just hoping he’s not too poorly, considering where he is. EMH looks after my two.”
JB: “I’m sure whatever is wrong, we can handle it. Just don’t expect him to be like an earth cat, from what little I could work out from the pictures, I’m 90% sure he isn’t from earth. Which shuttle we taking?”
LB: She listened as he spoke and nodded, “There are plenty of things from Earth that are now in space. He might have Earth cat dna.”
Using her telepathic link to the Tardis she called it to the cultivation bay.
“Since all the shuttles have Starfleet labelling, I thought we’d take my Tardis. We can materialise there and then cloak it so it stays hidden and unseen.”
JR: -looks at the ship carefully inching around it- “your ships is showing colours and I’m not touching it… how?”
LB: She smiled, “It’s actually sentient. Unlike others like it, they’re fully functional.”
JR: “Even sentient things, I don’t normally see without touching.”
LB: She nodded, “Would you like to see inside? Or we could try to find a shuttle that isn’t heavily marked Starfleet, though I’m assuming they all are.”
JR: “We can go in. Wasn’t expecting it is all..”
