you know what’s very silly in hp is the money. Apart from their economy making no sense, why are galleons (per gof) the size of hubcaps? Why does Ron think muggle coins are a weird shape?

I can put my NARSTY sketches on my personal blog. Only the best of the best to put on my art blog proper. Working on hand with optional opposable of one finger, proper opposability of the other (technically have super flexible wrists too)….. and hand prints for em. Trying to ride the line between ‘biological viability’ and ‘wish fulfillment for aliens’. Kinda like the handprint having a sort of heart shape innit,,,, cause Heart is a common shape in their leaves tooo,,,,

I'm gonna explode over analyzing the Rocks family... Amethar is obviously very squared and blocky, Ruby is more slender but has a good bit of square and rectangular shapes (eyes, lips, face a bit, hair, shoulders/shorts with her outfit, hands in fists), Jet is very similar but more angular/triangular (eyes, lips, braid, and potentially her shirt, hands opened, narrower shoes) and Saccharina is rounded (her eyes are more slender but also have a continuous curve, curved pauldrons and the cherries, her cheeks and lips, her sleeves, her staff, her wavy cape, the leopard pattern, the lightning and frost from her hands and staff).

How to write about someone’s appearance? Their physique, styles, face , clothes,?
How to Describe a Character's Appearance
-> dabblewriter.com
-> link to Character Description Prompts
Avoid Over-Describing
Overloading readers with too much information can be overwhelming and make your characters feel flat and one-dimensional. Focus on the details that are the most important to the story and the characters themselves.
If the character's appearance is not central to the story, then you may only need to give a basic description. If it plays a significant role, you may want to go into more detail. Always keep the purpose of your physical descriptions in mind.
Show Don't Tell
Don't blatantly state every little thing about your character's appearance, but rather show it through their actions and behaviors.
example: If they are tall, show that through their actions. They have to duck to get under a doorway, they help someone reach the top shelf, etc.
Include Personality Traits
A character's personality is what makes them memorable. Consider their motivations, values, beliefs, and quirks and give them a well-defined personality.
Avoid Stereotypes
Create characters that are more than just their cultural, racial, ethnic, or gender identity. Give them unique interests, hobbies, and personalities. Allow them to have flaws, contradictions, and diverse perspectives.
External Features
External features include a character's height, weight, body type, and general appearance. You can describe their skin color, hair color, eye color, and any distinctive features like freckles or scars. This type of description gives the reader a basic understanding of what the character looks like, which is helpful in creating a mental image.
Clothing
Describing the type of clothing they wear, including the colors, patterns, and how they fit, can reveal a lot about a character’s personality and social status.
For example, a character who wears tailored suits and expensive shoes might be a little snobby and concerned with their image, while a character who wears ripped jeans and t-shirts might be casual and relaxed.
Facial Features
Facial features can be used to give the reader a more in-depth understanding of a character's personality and emotions. You can describe their smile, the way they frown, their cheekbones, and their jawline. You can also describe their eyebrows, the shape of their nose, and the size and shape of their eyes, which can give the reader insight into their emotions.
Body Language
Body language can be used to give the reader an understanding of a character's emotions and personality without the need for dialogue. Describing the way a character stands, walks, or gestures can reveal a lot about their confidence level, mood, and attitude.
For example, a character who slouches and avoids eye contact is likely to be shy, while a character who stands up straight and makes direct eye contact is likely to be confident.

warning: kissing, just simp jk as always, jimin and mc bantering because why not, "public indecency",
“I think these would look amazing on you!” says the jeweler with a bright smile. She’s an older woman with amazing skin, you noted, and freshly blown out hair that bounces when she walks. “Don’t you think?” she turns to Jungkook to ask for his opinion.
You could only laugh humorlessly. You knew what the woman was doing - trying to sell an expensive product to you and you weren’t falling for any of it. Before you could protest, Jungkook answers. “Yes, it would look nice.” he murmurs, eyes wide and sparkling at the necklace. “Can she try it on?”
“I’m not-”
“She can!” the jeweler is already pushing you towards the small rounded mirror on the glass countertop for you to look at yourself in. She takes the necklace and wraps it around your neck. “It’s 18 carat white gold with mixed cut diamonds.”
You huff - the necklace did look nice on you, sure. It’s wrapped in diamonds entirely, sparkling underneath the store’s lights and at the center of the necklace lay a large, oval shaped diamond. However, you didn’t need it.
Jungkook and you were out shopping - something he enjoyed doing more than you. He stated countless times how he enjoyed buying you things and you weren’t going to deny him that satisfaction. However, you’d draw the line at jewelry as expensive as this. Your eyes only glances at the jewelry store with a name you’d never be able to pronounce and Jungkook took it upon himself to drag you inside the store. “You can’t even hold any more bags.” you exclaimed upon entering.
“I just want to see what they have in here.” Jungkook responds with a shrug of his shoulders. An obvious lie - as long as you and Jungkook have been shopping together, he’s come to realize that whatever your eyes linger on for longer than five seconds is a sign that you’re interested in it.
The jeweler had made her presence known upon witnessing Jungkook with both hands filled with bags mainly belonging to you - which only meant that her full attention would be on convincing this man to spend even more money.
“How much is it?”
Your eyes widen in the mirror's reflection at Jungkook. “I don’t want it.”
“Is it not to your liking?” the jeweler asks, a pout on her lips. “We even have matching earrings.”
Jungkook nods his head. “Can we see those?”
The jeweler doesn’t acknowledge you as she excitedly strolls away to get the earrings. You turn around to face Jungkook fully with furious eyes. “What the hell are you doing? This necklace alone probably costs-”
“But it looks so nice.” Jungkook touches the necklace on your neck with a smile on his lips. “I’m not sure why you’re overreacting.” he states. “Majority of my money goes to you anyways.”
Your eyes widen slightly. “Oh,” you huff with a shake of your head. “that lady probably thinks I’m some type of slut.”
Jungkook is taken aback and for a moment only blinks in your direction. “Why would she think that after just meeting you?”
“Because,” you hiss, giving Jungkook a reaction that says ‘you should know already’. “you’re already obviously spent so much on me. She probably thinks I fuck you for materialistic items.”
Jungkook snorts.
“I’m not giving her the satisfaction-”
“Y/N.” Jungkook places the shopping bags onto the floor and places a hand on your shoulder. “Baby, please. You’ve done this in almost every store we walked into.” Jungkook pleads. “No one thinks I’m your sugar daddy. We’re literally the same age.”
You cross your arms and huff.
“Okay!” the lady returns with a smaller, rectangular box. She opens it and showcases the diamond earrings, sparkling just as bright as the necklace. “What do you think?”
“They’re so nice.” Jungkook nods his head, his hand gliding down your back encouragingly. “Wanna try them on?”
The majority of the day continued exactly like this - you and Jungkook going into stores and him swiping his card carelessly. You, of course, refused to allow him to buy the jewelry and made every excuse.
When you told Jungkook you didn’t have any clothes to wear with said jewelry, he retorted with, “I can buy you some.” When you told him that you didn’t go anywhere that you needed jewelry, he didn’t back down either, “I can take you somewhere.” It was exhausting.
“I can’t believe you didn’t like the necklace.” Jungkook says, stand besides you as your eyes lazily look through the purses. “We’re not leaving this store unless you buy at least 2-”
“I don’t need 2 purses.” you hiss at Jungkook as you and he stand in yet another store he forced you into.
“Items.” Jungkook finishes his sentence. “2 items. Maybe a purse and a wallet?”
You roll your eyes.
“I wish you’d be normal.” Jungkook sits at a leather chair, setting down your shopping bags besides him. “A normal girlfriend would just swipe my card aimlessly.”
“I do.” you say, feeling the leather of one purse beneath your fingertips.
“On food.” Jungkook deadpans. “Are you calling me fat?” you ask - not truly offended in the slightest.
Jungkook's eyes widened at your words. “You’re changing the subject!”
The next half an hour consisted of you looking at purses to satiate Jungkook who sat and waited patiently. You began to think that the leather chairs inside the high-end store were for people like Jungkook - boyfriends (or sugar daddies) who enjoyed spending endless amounts of money. All they had to do was sit and wait for their girls to decide what they wanted.
The following half an hour consist in another store - nearly vacant - and Jungkook sitting (in yet another leather chair, strangely enough) and waiting for you to emerge from behind the door.
“I like that one.” Jungkook compliments, a small smile on his lips.
“You said that to all of the dresses I tried on.” you deadpan with yet another roll of your eyes.
“I liked them all.” Jungkook shrugs. “Do you like it?”
You did like the dress. It was draped in the front and created a slight v shape in the front. It’s metallic and sparkles when light hits it and the back is completely backless , another aspect that Jungkook likes. It stops mid thigh and Jungkook enjoys the way your legs look in the dress. “It’s nice…” you trail off, turning slightly to get a better look in the mirror.
All Jungkook heard was it was something else he should be getting you - and he was fine with it.
“I think the white heels would look nice.” you add. “I’m going to try the other color of this dress on with the heels.”
Jungkook watched you scurry away and snorts. Finally, he thinks, you’ve accepted your fate - him buying you things because it’s an act he actually enjoyed doing.
“That color’s nice.” Jungkook hums as you come from behind the door. It’s the same dress as before, this time a pink metallic instead of the silver.  The heel’s you’re wearing are white and are meant to be tied up around your ankles. “Do you need help typing them?” Jungkook asks, uncrossing his leg and motioning you to come forward.
You lift your leg slightly so the bottom of your heel is on Jungkook's knee. He proceeds to tie to heel up your ankle. “You look really beautiful.” he murmurs, tying the lace in a knot. “I think you should get both dresses.”
You snort. “Of course you think that.”
You switch legs and Jungkook begins to tie your other heel. “Is it wrong for me to want to buy you things?” he asks. “My girl…so pretty.”
Jungkook finishes tying the heel and his hands rub up your leg, the soft feeling of your skin shooting goosebumps up his arms.
“I know what you’re doing.” you groan. “We’re in public.”
“No one’s here but us.” Jungkook retorts, playfully gripping your thigh. And he was right. Even the employees had decided to leave you two alone and shop in peace. “You really are so beautiful.” he murmurs, leaning forward to kiss your knee. “My beautiful girl.”
Your body heats up. “Shut up and give me my leg back.”
Jungkook notices the tone in your voice and the slight stutter in your words. “My pretty girl...” he kisses your knee again playfully, slightly chuckling as you attempt to free yourself from his hold. “…I can’t wait to take you home.” he kisses up your knee, eyes on yours.
“You cannot be serious-“ your eyes widen at his actions. “A dress and heels shouldn't make you this down bad.”
“You have me just as down bad when you’re stuffing your face with food.” Jungkook retorts, kissing even higher, his hands gliding upwards slowly. “The things I’d do to you if we weren’t here-“
“Public Indecency.” a voice behind you says and you jump, shrieking at the sudden new voice.
Jungkook jumps to his feet to catch you from falling, arms wrapping firmly around you.
“Please tell me what you’d do to her.”
Jungkook takes a deep breath, coming face first to Jimin and behind him, Hoseok and Taehyung.
“Why are you here?” Jungkook seethes , a crimson tint to his cheeks.
Jimin crosses his arms. “Why are we in a public boutique?”
Your body radiates humiliating heat. You know Jimin - he and you still often engage in banter. You would text him to get off of hulu because you were trying to watch your show and he would respond back snarkily.
However, you didn’t know the other two - you knew their names and they had since followed you on social media.  But this wasn’t how you wanted your first official meeting with his friends with the two of you appearing like a teenage couple that couldn’t keep their hands off of one another.
“Fly on the wall.” Hoseok murmurs with a shake of his head.
“Can you stop saying that?” Jungkook hisses, his grip on you tightening. “Fucking pervert.” he says under his breath.
“Hyung saw you walk in here.” Taehyung says, tilting his head at Hoseok. “Decided to come and say hello.”
“Finally we get to meet the infamous Y/N.” Hoseok offers you a smile, heart shaped lips displaying a set of perfect teeth. “The woman that has our Kookie barking-“
“Y/N, change so I can buy the dress.” Jungkook turns his back on his friends, his nightmares coming to life. “And we can go home and I’ll cook-“
“Haven’t had a home cooked meal in so long.” Jimin sighs dramatically. “Now I know why. You’re giving her-“
“Fuck you.” you cross your arms and point your nose away. “I thought our beef was settled when I gave you the password.”
Jungkook furrows his brows. “What password?” he asks you before turning to face Jimin. “Surely not the password to the streaming services that you continue to guilt trip me about?”
Jimin rolls his eyes and shrugs, not concerned. “It’s the principle that you chose pussy over our friendship.”
“Yawn.” you retort that causes Hoseok and Taehyung to snicker. “He loves this pussy and you’re mad.”
Jimin’s eyes widen at your response, as does Jungkook’s. Hoseok and Taehyung are the first two to laugh loudly.
“I can tell.” Jimin snorts. “Risking it all in the middle of a boutique like a horny teenager.”
Jungkook bites the inside of his cheek, his face already shades darker than it needs to be. “Can you two-“ he’s interrupted by Jimin once more.
“I hope I don’t find your pictures in the sex offenders registry since he loves your pussy so-“
“Can you stop?” Jungkook hisses, head darting around for anyone listening. “Y/N,” Jungkook turns back towards you with a sympathetic look in his eyes. “Let’s buy the dress, yeah?”
Your eyes look past Jungkook to look at Jimin who only snorts at you. Taehyung offers a short wave while Hoseok remains smiling. “It’s nice to meet you two.”
Jimin hums.
“Always a pleasure, Jimin.” you respond sarcastically. “Do you like the heels?”
Jimin glances down at your feet and shrugs. “They’re nice. I hope you fall in them.”
Taehyung watches the back and forth between you and Jimin and now understands what Jungkook had told them, experiencing it first hand. You and Jimin bantered like old friends of the same personality.
“I’ll never fall when Kookie’s around.” you give Jimin a smirk, placing your hand against Jungkook’s chest. “Right?”
Jimin snorts the loudest he’s ever had watching Jungkook’s eyes widen and the man forgets about any embarrassment. He hastily nods his head, his hand placing itself right on top of yours on his chest. “Of course!”
You turn around to walk off and back into the dressing room while Jungkook turns back to his friends. “You can leave now.” he deadpans. “It’s bad enough I have to deal with you in the groupchat.”
“You really are whipped.” Taehyung says, eyeing the amount of shopping bags that are surrounding Jungkook.
“How much you’ve grown. It was just yesterday you were humping your pillows-”
“Fuck. Off.” Jungkook grits his teeth, head whipping around to the closed dressing room door. “I was like 12.” he hissed lowly at them.
Taehyung laughs, as does Hoseok.
Jimin only snickers. “I want dinner.”
“I’m cooking for Y/N tonight…” Jungkook crosses his arms over his chest, avoiding the eyes of the two men behind Jimin. “...I promised her already. Can’t go back on my word.”
“Oh how I hate simps.” Jimin scoffs. “She won’t mind. Maybe we can make you jealous again so you two can fuck it out-”
“I bet you would like to watch that.” you emerge from the dressing room, both dresses in your hands. “You guys should come. Me and Kookie were going to watch Homicide Hunters-”
“Nevermind.” Jimin turns away from you. “There’s only so much true crime I can watch in one week.”
Jungkook is satisfied when his friends leave after bidding you and him their farewells. He sighs and turns to you. “Sorry about them.” he murmurs. “I thought you agreed to watch Secret Invasion with me...” there's a pout on Jungkook’s lips.
“I did.” you nod your head. “They would come if I told them the truth.” That and you already know that you would grow bored watching whatever it was that Jungkook wanted to watch - and to get out of watching it meant that you were going to have to fuck the boredom out of you.
Jungkook smiles widely and nods. He’s holding both dresses and now the heels in one hand. With his free hand he takes it upon himself to catch you off guard, gripping your ass entirely and bringing you closer to him. “My pretty girl,” Jungkook presses a kiss against your forehead. “can’t wait for you to sit on my face tonight when you get tired of my nerd shit.” he murmurs low to you, pressing another kiss to your cheek.
Fuck Jeon Jungkook and him knowing exactly what you intend on doing with him to get out of watching what he wants to do. Nonetheless, you’re excited and highly anticipating for what’s to come.

_____
What she had done echoed hugely throughout the university. Some looked at her in awe, some in horror wondering why she had done it, whether she really thought he was so good to put up with his awful behaviour.
"What if he keeps humiliating you? Or if he hits you?" Lysa asked as they walked together to their joint Renaissance art history class. She shrugged her shoulders, feeling light and happy.
"I'm only there for a trial, for a month. If I find I don't like it there, I'll go to another workshop. And if he does something to me, I'll report it to the police straight away." She replied briefly, taking it for granted.
If he violated her personal space in such a way she wasn't going to stand idly by, but for some reason she felt that if she respected his boundaries he wouldn't do anything to her.
She hopped up on her bed with joy when she saw an email on her inbox from Cregan informing her of a task for everyone to complete, covered by the competition Professor Targaryen had mentioned at their first meeting.
Good morning, congratulations to you once again and I am sending below the details of the project you need to complete. The first overview sketches are to be made at a scale of 1:5, only the one selected will be made at a scale of 1:1. The project includes 3 windows, each with 8 rectangular quarters. The dimension of the entire window is 10x2 m, the gaps between the quarters are 10 cm on each side. The Bishop would like these three quarters to include a representation of the Mother of God with the Child with a white dove above her, surrounded by the Twelve Aspotols. If you have any questions, I remain at your disposal Cregan
She immediately got to work, calculating the size of each of the quarters on A3 sheets of paper, thinking about how she would like to arrange it, how to show it.
She first thought of a baroque representation, with figures in motion, Our Lady in the centre, the apostles surrounding her as if they were floating towards the sky in clouds together with her.
When she had refined this design sufficiently she decided to take the opportunity that her professor was working on the other side of the room, standing, as always, with his back to her.
She approached him, stopping at an appropriate distance, and grunted quietly, wanting to let him know of her presence.
He glanced at her coolly out of the corner of his eye without ceasing his work, cutting a piece of glass in a confident, fluid motion with the loud swish of a diamond blade.
He picked it up and tapped the back of the handle with the special rounded end against the part of the glass he didn't need, and it broke at the point of cut to form exactly the shape he wanted.
"Lay it down here." He said indifferently, pointing with his chin to an empty spot on the illuminated table next to the glass he was working on.
She placed the piece of paper in front of him and stepped back, waiting anxiously for his opinion, feeling her heart pounding fast as she saw her year mate glance in their direction.
Professor Targaryen cast a quick look at what she had been preparing for the past two days, his face expressing absolutely nothing.
"Overdone and tacky. This is not a competition for the most pompous baroque stained glass. Don't show me things like that again." He said briefly, turning back to his work, and she nodded, tightening her lips and returned to her table, trying to swallow his words and not cry.
She looked at her project again and thought with regret that he was probably right.
It was contrived, as if she wanted to prove to everyone that she could create the most surprising and complicated design.
And after all, it was supposed to be simply the best.
She started to look through more classical stained glass representations from France, Germany, Spain and the UK at home. She noticed with interest that static figures depicted with just the right cuts of glass were suddenly gaining a lot of expression and she thought this was the way out.
She took inspiration for her pose of the Mother of God with the Child from Raphael's Sistine Madonna, but gave her face and hands a softer, more slender expression, her robes arranged in a Gothic manner, with strong creases and folds.
Our Lady stood in the rays of the colour of the setting sun, as if emerging from among the clouds, from the left, through the bottom of the composition, to the right the apostles emerged from behind the window frames, looking at her in silent awe, the whole thing seemed to her calm and solemn, warm.
She made another attempt to approach him. She settled on the opposite side of his table, looking at him expectantly, and he lifted his impatient gaze to her, his lips tightening.
"Are you sure you want to show me this?" He asked warningly, as if he wanted to make sure that if he saw something similar to what he had seen last time again, he would lose patience with her.
She nodded, swallowing quietly.
She really liked this project.
She laid it in front of him − the lead outline and the linear layer were painted with a pen using black ink, the colours of the glass painted with watercolours.
He stopped in mid-motion, looking at what she had drawn − she could see that he was thinking strenuously, his gaze roaming over the entire composition.
"Were you inspired by someone?" He asked coolly, and she nodded quickly.
"Yes, Raphael's Sistine Madonna." She said quickly, and he hummed under his breath, his hand involuntarily escaping to his mouth and chin, looking intensely at her drawing.
"On the left and right the composition is too filled in. You need to leave those four apostles lower, give more space to the background. Let them form an arc under the figure of Our Lady, not half a circle." He began to speak quickly, pointing his finger at the areas of the work he had in mind, and she nodded, visualising his changes, recognising with joy that, indeed, with his corrections it would look much better.
"Yes. You're right, Professor, I will." She said excitedly, looking at him with her eyes wide open, she had the feeling that happiness was literally beaming from her.
He liked it.
He looked at her for a moment, biting his bottom lip, and then lowered his gaze, returning to his work.
"That's all." He said dryly, and she nodded quickly, took her sheet of paper and applied all the corrections he had mentioned, painting and drawing the whole thing again.
Thus approved and prepared, she handed her design to Cregan, who smiled warmly at her.
"Congratulations." He said calmly, and she reciprocated his smile.
Seeing the impatient gaze of their professor looking at them from across the table she moved away from him, picked up her things and left, saying a polite goodbye, wanting to go get something to eat.
She breathed a sigh of relief as she changed into her usual clothes in the toilet − it was getting warmer outside and she was sitting in her workshop in a black t-shirt tucked into long black trousers and dying of heat.
Being already in her summer dress and trainers, she left putting her backpack on her back, heading to the canteen to buy something warm to eat and go to her wall painting class in a completely different building.
She stopped in mid-step and started to take a step back when she saw her professor standing by the coffee machine right in front of her, but she didn't make it − he took his coffee cup and bumped into her, his gaze quickly going from her top to bottom, as if he didn't recognise her for a moment.
She swallowed loudly, lowering her gaze, wanting to disappear, to hide, though she didn't actually know why.
There was something awkward about the situation, as if he had caught her in the act.
He merely hummed under his breath, taking a sip from his cup, and walked past her without a word. She looked back over her shoulder at him, swallowing loudly, wondering if he was frustrated by what he had seen, or if he would be more judgmental and unpleasant to her than usual.
He, however, remained just as indifferent to her presence, acting exactly the same as before. She figured he wasn't cruel enough to expect her to dress that way all the time in case she ran into him.
When it was time for the results of the competition to be announced, everyone gathered in the room he read out the attendance list for the first time. She took her seat at the very end, just as she had done then, waiting impatiently to hear what their professor would say.
"I presented the bishop with the projects which, in my opinion, were the best of those you gave me. He made his choice, announcing that he wanted our workshop to prepare Miss Wright's design for him. I made no objection to that decision." He said dryly, standing in front of them with his hands folded behind him, looking to the side, his voice expressing some kind of weariness, as did his gaze.
They were all silent for a moment and then her colleagues began to congratulate her loudly, Royce sitting next to her embraced her and said that she deserved it.
She looked into her professor's eyes and somehow saw a kind of discomfort and frustration at the sight of such familiarity, so she pulled away politely, covering her mouth in disbelief, unable to believe that he hadn't objected, that he had allowed her to win.
She heard him grunt loudly, shifting from foot to foot, everyone turned their gazes towards him again.
"As I mentioned, the whole workshop will split the work on this big project. Myself and Cregan will take care of the faces and hands, the third year and fourth year students will take care of the robes. The second year students will take care of the backgrounds." He said coolly and she felt a squeeze in her heart, even the other students looked at him surprised, though no one dared to speak up.
Despite the fact that her project had won, she was only supposed to deal with the background?
She lowered her gaze, feeling a squeeze in her throat, Cregan moved restlessly.
"I think if Miss Wright won, let her stay more involved and help cut the robes." He said lightly, intending to sound casual, but Professor Targaryen did not even look at him.
"No. Everyone will perform the work according to their skills. Miss Wright will prepare a 1:1 design in colour and line within a week, numbering each of the templates, and then cut them out herself. That's all, get back to work." He said lowly and left, leaving them alone.
Although she tried to keep a smile, she felt tear after tear run down her face, wiping them away quickly with her hands as her colleagues approached her, trying to comfort her.
"Don't worry. The fact that the professor wants to paint faces for your project means that he really likes it. He doesn't get involved in work that doesn't interest him." Said one of the fourth year boys.
"It's true, be happy that you won and will have an input. It will be our collective success, of the whole workshop, but remember it's your composition and your idea." Said Ned, her yearmate, and she smiled with gratitude.
Despite how their professor behaved, her colleagues showed her great support and understanding, for which she was grateful.
She decided to go along with her professor's decision and spent the next week creating a huge design, cutting a template for each piece of glass with special double-blade scissors that reduced the volume of the card by the thickness of the lead surrounds into which the glass would be embedded.
One day they were even visited by Professor Lannister himself, and hearing of her success and taking advantage of the fact that she was alone in the room, he approached her, smiling in a way she didn't know what to think of.
He was a tall man, with light hair pulled back and an elegantly trimmed beard in a pressed light-coloured shirt and smart trousers − he looked at her large project hanging on the wall behind her with a form of admiration, raising his eyebrows.
"I don't know what you did to Professor Targaryen, but apparently it works. You certainly must have made a great effort." He said and looked at her curiously − she blinked, swallowing loudly, feeling subconsciously uncomfortable at the thought that he was trying to imply something.
"Please don't measure everyone by your standards, Professor." She said lightly so that for a moment he didn't understand what she meant. He glanced at her frowning his eyebrows as soon as the meaning of her words reached him, outraged.
"Are you insinuating something?" He asked roughly and she glared at him, cutting out the template with two intense, firm cuts of her scissors.
"And you, Professor?" She asked, raising her eyebrows and shrugged her shoulders, seeing that he swallowed loudly, embarrassed.
She looked away and saw her professor standing in the entrance, measuring Lannister with an anxious, watchful gaze. When the man saw him he became tense, as if caught in the act, and grunted.
"In any case, congratulations again and I wish you well in your future work." He said, forcing a smile, and she reciprocated his gesture, beaming with satisfaction and contentment.
When Professor Lannister left she immediately returned to her work.
She looked up surprised when she saw that for the first time her professor had approached her of his own free will, standing on the opposite side of her table, looking at the templates she had cut so far.
"What did he want?" He asked drily, and she sighed quietly, cutting open the next sheets of paper, numbering them one by one.
"To learn the secret of my success." She replied softly and glanced up at him, his intense gaze fixed on her. She swallowed loudly, feeling shivers from the way he looked at her.
"What did you tell him?" He asked expectantly, coolly, menacingly, clasping his hands on the edge of the table.
She grabbed another piece of paper, unimpressed.
"That he shouldn't measure everyone by his standards. His attitude towards his female students was one of the reasons I didn't want him to teach me." She said quietly, truthfully, wondering if she was crossing the line by saying such things about one professor to another.
She felt that he was still looking at her, although he had always avoided any eye contact, now she felt that his gaze was burning her.
"And you came to ask for a place with a professor who hit his student?" He asked seriously, lowly, and she lifted her gaze to him, feeling her heart pounding hard, sensing that this was her chance to find out what had happened.
"And did you hit her, Professor?" She asked in a trembling voice, feeling that her hands were shaking and she had to concentrate very hard to cut straight.
He was silent for a long moment.
"Yes." He said emotionlessly, indifferently, with a kind of weariness.
She pressed her lips together and swallowed loudly, for some reason afraid to look at him.
"Why did you do that?" She asked quietly, and he chuckled under his breath.
"Does it matter?" He asked, as if the answer was obvious.
"It matters if you did it for no reason or if you were trying to defend yourself against her, sir." She replied wearily, still not looking at him, feeling the atmosphere between them becoming increasingly tense. She heard him snort at her words, surprised.
"In what way could she harm me? Hit me?" He asked mockingly, but there was something in his voice that troubled her, some kind of frustration through which she knew she had hit the target, that something more had really happened there.
"Women can hurt men in all sorts of ways. It's just that they are hardly believed." She whispered and heard him swallow loudly, his chest rising and falling in anxious breaths. She looked at him uncertainly, his healthy eye was wide open.
He was silent for a long moment, she could feel that something was happening to him, his lower lip trembling slightly.
"You prefer to defend the abuser instead of the victim?" He asked in disbelief at last, the corner of his mouth twitching in what she might have called a smile if not for the look in his eyes.
"No. I just know her version of events. I wanted to hear yours before I decided what I thought of you, Professor. I thought it was only fair." She said in a trembling voice, feeling that at that moment she was truly afraid of him.
He did not answer anything for a while, looking at her with a clenched jaw and licked his lips.
"There is no excuse for me. But I don't regret what I did. What do you think about it, Miss Wright?" He asked tauntingly and she looked at him in pain, tightening her lips.
"That I feel sorry for you, Professor. Just like I feel sorry for that girl. I hope you find the decency to apologise to her one day. Excuse me, but I would like to focus on my work." She said quietly, swallowing loudly, feeling regret and disappointment.
She wanted to believe that he wasn't such a bad person, that something had happened that would give him a reason to behave like that.
However, she now knew that she could only count on him in artistic matters, and that in others he could be no authority for her.
She lowered her gaze, returning to her cutting, her hands trembling, feeling that he was still standing in the same place, that he was looking at her, she could hear his accelerated breathing.
After a moment he was gone, she heard him take his leather jacket from the back of his chair and just leave.
From then on it was she who didn't look at him and avoided him even though she saw that he glanced at her occasionally. She knew he was working on detailed sketches for the figure's faces; he was sitting at one of the desks with a sketchbook and pencil, absorbed in his thoughts.
Their gazes met suddenly and she turned away quickly, swallowing loudly.
She knew there was only one day left until the end of the month, after which he was to decide what to do next, whether he would let her stay or kick her out.
She had lost any remnants of a good opinion of him privately, however, he organised their work well and was very dedicated to it − she felt that with him and her colleagues she had learnt more about the subject of stained glass in these few weeks than she had in her entire life so far.
When the day came, however, he was sitting locked in the second room, reserved for him to paint his already-cut glass. This required a lot of concentration and it was easy to make a mistake, so no one disturbed him.
She reasoned that if he had wanted to tell her he was throwing her out, he would have done so immediately.
On her way out of class and walking down the corridor, she saw that the door to the room he was working in was ajar and she looked inside uncertainly. Whatever she thought of him, he was an outstanding painter and she was dying of curiosity as to how he depicted her figures.
Noticing that he had to leave for a moment and that the room was empty, she walked slowly inside, leaning over the illuminated table on which lay the cut, painted and patinated faces of various saints.
Looking at the faces of the apostles, she involuntarily marvelled, noticing the incredible accuracy in the proportions and the lightness with which he had given their faces expression; they seemed both emotional and calm, their faces showing excited anticipation.
Around the glasses were sketches made with pencil that he had prepared beforehand, which accurately represented what he wanted to portray.
She moved on to the face of the Virgin Mary and froze, feeling her heart pounding hard. She looked at the sketch next to it to be sure and swallowed loudly.
Mother of God had her facial features.
Then, when their gazes met, he didn't glance at her casually.
He was portraying her.
She didn't know what to make of it, at once horrified, excited, concerned, shocked. She shuddered when she heard someone's voice behind her.
"Get out." He said lowly, coldly, his gaze menacing, dark, warning. He stood in the entrance with his hands clenched into fists and she wondered how long he had been watching her.
"I'm sorry. I −"
"Get. Out." He repeated in a tone that suggested he wasn't going to say it a third time.
She lowered her head, swallowing loudly, and moved to leave on trembling legs, he, however, caught her firmly by her shoulder as she passed him and stopped her without looking at her.
"Don't ever come in here again without permission. Your painting room is next door. This is my private studio. Do you understand?" He asked in a razor-sharp tone, and she nodded quickly, unable to get anything out.
He let her go and she almost ran out, only drawing in a loud breath in the corridor, she felt like her heart was going to burst out of her chest.
His Virgin Mary, the central figure of the whole composition, would have her face.

VFX ask! You've mentioned before that Jessica the Liberated has notably good bullet and glass shattering VFX, would you be willing to break down what makes them stand out?
Okay yes absolutely I will, and in order to do so, I am going to briefly talk about Arknights' history of guns because this is my feed and you can't stop me. This one will probably be long. I wanted it to be short. But it is not.
Guns in AK's worldbuilding are extremely rare, with only Blacksteel, Lateran, and collab ops wielding guns. So there's a sort of weight towards making the rare gun wielder... feel like they're using a gun, making them feel distinct from a crossbow.
Tumblr media
Early on, AK did this in a very very simple way. Simple, single color muzzle flash, impact spark, no visible projectile. All the guns worked hitscan, which did really help to sell the illusion of a gun, it hits instantly.
Tumblr media
Exusiai even amps it up a little and adds a visible bullet trail when she's in Unloading Mode!
But for a time, because of how rare guns were, that was kinda... It. After Nacho Cheese Executor, the next wielder of a traditional gun was the Rainbow 6 Siege Operators?? Really??
R6S is extremely important. Being from a shooter-ass shooter game, they had a lot of reason to make them feel like real guns. So what does Ash do? Well!
Tumblr media
That's a VISIBLE BULLET baby!
It's WILD that removing the single biggest trait about guns - that they are instant - does a LOT to actually help sell that it is a Real Gun.
But on top of that, they do a few interesting things. The muzzle flash isn't just a single flash, it's a semi-realistic looking muzzle flash that also releases sparks. The bullet trail emits sparks as well, eschewing AK's stylization for the sake of making it feel like a Real Bullet Trail. This really helps sell the
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even on the impact, there's no Textures or traditional bursts to be found - instead it is black, white, and red sparks alongside a very very layered flash of light. This is really unique in AK, and it serves brilliantly to juxtapose the R6S ops within the world of Terra, while still being over-the-top enough to fit in within the game's cartoony artstyle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What's interesting is that these choices carried forwards in the future! Enforcer has very realistic-looking muzzle smoke with Ash's black/white/red sparks. Meanwhile, Insider has a visible bullet and sparks coming out of the muzzle flash!
Also I just barely noticed while writing this but all the Lateran use the shape of their wings as part of their effects! Exusiai's bullet trails are triangular like her wings, Ezell's impacts are dark iregular polygons with a lip like his, Insider's trail is rectangular like his, and Cool Ranch Executor's shots are shattered diamonds that fade to black as they get closer to him. Neat!! That's SUPER fucking cool.
Tumblr media
(Also notable is that Exusiai and Ezell's effects are the only lateran guns that don't have a predominantly white aesthetic. Just a little treat for Exu Errari Believers)
So, with a history of four ops with Real Guns and a bunch with weird magic guns, how do you make an operator whose gimmick is that she is definitively Terran who also uses a fuck ton of Guns?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jessica's muzzle flash is a realistic-esque flash that quickly fades into a burst texture. She gives off a few sparks like Ash does, but there are few of them, and they're really large for stylization. Also her bullet is much larger, but is distinctly a realistic bullet.
Tumblr media
I wish so badly I could get footage of this one properly but an image will have to do. The trail of the bullet is a rotating mesh spiralling like the bullet is rotating. Also the bullet itself is glowing, allowing it to stand out better against the background.
Tumblr media
And when it hits, hooooly shit. There's blurry, semi-realistic looking light textures flying off the enemy, sparks, and the same hitflash she has on her muzzle flash (cool asset reuse there!) They went all out to show the impact of her shot, since it is a Real Ass gun.
AND ALL THIS FLAIR AND DRAMA FOR JUST HER NORMAL ATTACK. THIS IS OFF-SKILL. When she's on-skill...
Tumblr media
WHOO. WHOOOO. WHOOOO.
The muzzle flashes become longer to sell a BIG impact, but they last MUCH shorter (this muzzle flash lasts one single frame), since all her skills are rapid-fire, making it feel like bigger shots in less time. The impacts become ABSURDLY BIG. And then. My absolute favorite part of the whole thing.
Tumblr media
(These are Not The Texture, but a similar, oft-mistaken cousin of The Texture.)
This fucking followthrough. Every hit on an enemy creates a burst of shattered glass and fire. I would not have thought of adding EITHER of these, but I love it. It's a great call to her art, it's unique and distinct, and even though it can be "where is the glass coming from" it's so cool i don't care. I literally saw it and gasped and went "I have never seen this before." It adds great color contrast, conveys the armor-piercing nature of her bullets, adds unique shapes, makes it look more chaotic, I can't praise these glass shards enough, I love them, they're so cool.
Fortunately for you, Jessica's skills all kinda look the same, so I don't have much more to say about this. I like that her S3's muzzle flashes create more chaotic sparks, creating the look of a wild, uncontrollable spray and pray strat. I like that she fires multiple shots and muzzle flashes but only shoots one bullet, but you rarely ever notice it because of the weight of the impact.
But I have one final thing to say.
Tumblr media
BEHIND HER IN HER S3 SHE HAS AN ACTUAL ROILING, BURNING, MOVING FLAME. WHY IS HOEDERER BEING SHOWN UP BY JESSICA. WHAT THE FUCK.

Cultural Fashion: Tsemo
Tumblr media
Tsemo is a character from the Avatar Legends: The Roleplaying Game Core Book. She is a post-Harmonic Convergence airbender. Her outfit is inspired by the traditional women’s clothing of Bhutan.
Traditional Bhutanese skirts are called kira (དཀྱི་ར) and are characterized by their elaborate designs of diamond shapes and horizontal lines, which Tsemo’s skirt shares. However, the silhouette of Tsemo’s skirt is A-line rather than rectangular. This modification was likely for ease of movement and to add to her overall airbender aesthetic.
Traditional Bhutanese tops are made up of two layers. The first layer is a blouse called a wonju (འོན་འཇུ་), while the second layer is a short jacket called a toego (སྟོད་གོ་). The sleeves of the wonju are folded over the sleeves of the toego to create prominent cuffs. You can also see the collar of the wonju peeking out of the toego as well. Tsemo’s top has both these details, with her blouse being dark brown and her jacket being saffron. Finally, the anklets she wears resemble traditional Bhutanese bangles called dhopchuu (གདོབ་ཅུ).
Overall, Tsemo’s character design might be one of my favorites in the whole franchise. It’s eye-catching yet practical, and the cultural inspiration is spot-on. Bhutan is a mountainous Himalayan nation that practices Tibetan Buddhism, so it’s the perfect source to draw from for an Air Nomad character.  Bhutanese architecture is also the basis for the Western Air Temple.
I also have to admit that--- for all the issues I have with the Avatar TTRPG--- the art is fantastic. The style is like the perfect halfway point between the rounded ATLA look and the angular Korra look.
Like what I’m doing? Tips always appreciated, never expected. ^_^

It can all fade, like a morning mist beneath the glory of the sun.
We found a way. -Six Grains of Gravel, Mountains Abound
More below! inspirations/details/etc
So when I first started, I wanted a separation between Moon & the Ancient, I wanted Moon to have many more triangles / feel more forced/unnatural/artificial!! And then for the ancient, I wanted them to look more... organic. So, I used triangles for Moon, and more rectangular shapes for the ancient! She's still on her arm, and umbilical, and she is gifting the ability of ascension to the ancient. Her head is bowed, her expression of closed eyes showing submission, obedient. The colors below and above her are all colors neurons can be! I also needed it to mimic the void sea on the other side, but obviously, Iterators were made without the thought of them ascending. So, the colors are darker, then going to a more... sky-like feeling. And, the rarefaction cell. Pebbles, Sig, and Suns all have their hands extended to it because it is their heart! their lifeblood! it powers them! And, the neurons. Neurons are extremely important to any Iterator, so I felt it necessary to have them.
Now, for the ancient. I wanted them to look like they were being consumed/engrossed by the void sea! Originally, they were going to be bowing, but with how the lines worked, instead, they seem to be standing up, which works! I added sparks and droplets throughout the whole void sea portion, to better mimic what it looks like in game. The node was inspired by Metropolis and the communication node in Spearmaster's campaign. And obviously, the void worm. I needed a way to make it looking down, yet still looking at you, so I simply just... made the eye huge. And again, parallel with the neurons, the diamonds surrounding it represent sparks and things you would see visually in the void sea. Above the buildings, are clouds, again, having a sort of parallel with Moon's side. A skyline, and the void sea, while her end is all artificial. Artificial skyline and colors made from colors found in neurons.
also, here's the rp response that inspired this!

Hello! here is a attraction coining idea:
Sanguiaric: Based off bloodlust and primal instincts, where desire is associated with the thrill of danger and the scent of iron. The lover experiences a visceral hunger that cannot be satisfied or satiated, thus being driven by the primal urge to possess and "consume" their beloved. They may feel the need to tear into the depths of the S/O's heart, in a metaphorical sense, to feel and touch every part of them, as if to celebrate "owning" the love interest like a trophy.
is this alright?
I normally don't really take requests, but since this was basically coined for me in a way I will make an exception in this case. So I guess it is alright lol. Sorry for taking so damn long, oops.

Symbology of the flag
Pt: Symbology of the flag :End Pt
A lot of the symbology is born from several "Key" concepts I personally noted. Grey meant to be iron, the reds of blood, flesh, meat, and the heart. The jagged stripes like teeth, and thus like consumption. The curving red lines like clawing and "opening up" the body. The blues like the stereotypical blue veins of the heart. The yellow triangle like a danger sign, but could also be like a "tag" that one puts on the collar of a pet and thus "owning" them. Hopefully this flag works for you anon.

The Godman Necklace
Tumblr media
In 1965, a pair of elderly sisters, the Godmans, approached Buckingham Palace and told them that they had a piece of jewelry that the Queen might be interested in. According to Leslie Field in The Queen’s Jewels, they believed that a diamond and emerald necklace that they’d inherited from their father, British Museum trustee Frederick McCann Godman, had connections to Empress Joséphine of France.
Tumblr media
The palace did a bit of digging about the Godmans’ necklace, and unfortunately, it was determined that the piece didn’t come from Empress Joséphine or the Leuchtenbergs at all. Regardless, it’s an extremely beautiful nineteenth-century necklace, and the sisters asked if the Queen would still like to have the piece. It’s rare that the royals accept such extravagant gifts from the public, but as in the case of the Queen Mother and the Greville inheritance, this time the Queen accepted.
~ The Court Jeweller
Tumblr media
The necklace which is a delicate ornamental work in platinum, is encrusted with diamonds and emeralds. The design used on the necklace is based on symmetrical flower motifs, a style that was common for jewelry crafting throughout the 19th century, a naturalistic style that used the “language of flowers.”
The thick circular band of the necklace is encrusted with diamond baguettes interspersed with round brilliant-cut diamonds. Seven floral motifs arise from the lower side of this band, which take the form of seven pendants. The largest of this floral pendant is situated along the median line of the necklace, and is encrusted with two large emeralds, a rectangular-shaped smaller emerald at the base, and an elongated oval or drop-shaped emerald in the center of the pendant, which is the largest emerald in the necklace.

I finally finished putting patches on my pencil case/art bag! Some I made myself, some I purchased, and some had been sitting in my mom's sewing kit for 20+ years so I just took them. 😂
Tumblr media
[ID: A brown canvas purse with embroidered patches all over it. Individual patch descriptions in the next image. End ID.]
The front. I have a lot of Critical Role stuff on this bag, as it's my current hyperfixation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ID: Top - The top flap of the front pocket. Has a blue embroidered patch of the Bell's Hells logo from Critical Role on the left, and enamel chibi pins of two of the Bell's Hells characters, Ashton and Orym, on the right.
Bottom - The bottom flap of the front pocket. There is a triangular, blue and white Girl Guides patch; a round, green patch with a person considering 3 roads before them; a homemade patch of a blue, cartoon dragon head: a honeybee patch; a red and black patch that says "Just Don’t"; a rectangular, black patch with a yellow border and a blue violin; and a black and white patch of the Critical Role logo. End ID. ]
Close-ups of the front patches and pins. I'm pretty sure the green one and the violin patch are badges from my Girl Guide days. The triangle patch is from the Guiding troop I was in in my hometown, but I've blanked out the town name for privacy reasons. The dragon patch I made myself.
Tumblr media
[ID: The back of the purse, featuring more embroidered patches. There is a rectangular Asexual Pride flag patch; a watermelon slice patch; a black and white, oval-shaped patch from the TV show Supernatural that says "Protected by Castiel"; a rainbow with clouds patch; and a black and red patch that features the Anarchy symbol of an A inside a circle. End ID.]
The Ace Pride patch and the Anarchy patch are handmade. I've had the Castiel patch sitting around for a while, and just had to figure out what to put it on.
Tumblr media
[ID: A side panel of the purse. On top there is a patch shaped like a mushroom that has a red cap and white spots. On the bottom is a colourful Ashari symbol from Critical Role that resembles 2 stacked hourglasses with a diamond in the center. End ID.]
These two are both handmade. The mushroom was the first patch I ever made myself. The second is the symbol of the Ashari, a druidic culture from the world of Exandria in Critical Role.
Tumblr media
[ID: the other side panel of the purse. On top is a rectangular patch featuring a white Trillium flower and "Ontario" printed in yellow letters. Underneath is a round patch with the Antifascism symbol of a black flag and a red flag waving together on a white background. End ID.]
The top one is a patch I found in my mom's sewing kit. I decided to use it because I'm from Ontario, and the trillium (the provincial flower) is pretty. The other one is an Antifa patch that I made myself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ID: Photos of each side of the purse's shoulder strap. A series of colourful pin-back buttons runs the length of each side. End ID.]
I also have a bunch of buttons pinned to the strap. Most of them are fandom buttons for Pokémon, Doctor Who, Supernatural, and Undertale. Some have funny sayings printed on them. A couple are for different causes, like environmental protection, and free university education.
I'm pretty pleased with how it came out! There's a little bit of space under the front flap that I could potentially put a couple more patches or pins on, but I'm happy to take a break from this one for now. It was actually pretty challenging to get them all sewn on. 😅

Lettering Tips for Comics Artists!
Lettering is an easy to overlook aspect of comics creation, partially because good lettering is designed to be invisible, but bad lettering can ruin an otherwise well crafted project.
Now, I'm not a letterer by trade, I'm a colorist who thinks too much about comics craft, but I've picked up on a few common mistakes I've seen new webcomic artists making, and I thought I'd share my tricks.
#1: Get a Dialog font
Sorry, despite Comic Sans having the word comic in the name, it's not actually good for lettering comics. Comic book letterers usually use specially designed fonts when they're lettering comics, and they often have websites where you can get these typefaces for a reasonable fee (or sometimes even free!)
What makes dialog typefaces special?
The barred-I! (and other contextual options)
Tumblr media
This one is subtle, but generally, you want to only use the barred-I for the personal pronoun "I" or for roman numerals. It helps clarify that what you're looking at is an I and not an L, but it takes up more space in the word, and we're trying to reserve as much space as possible for the art on the page.
Tumblr media
Specially made comic book fonts will also be custom designed to be legible at a distance, have multiple bold/italics options, and might even include special versions of individual letters for when you type multiple of the same character in a row! It'll give your lettering a personal touch that you won't get from typefaces designed for other things.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Blambot is a great resource for all your lettering needs. Here I'm using Backissues and Nightmark
#2: Dialog Stacking
Dialog should always be stacked such that your longest line of text is in the middle. The block of text itself should have a sort of diamond shape <>. Sometimes this is difficult to do, especially if you have any long words at the beginning or end of a sentence. You can't always get it to work (and if you're unwilling to rewrite your dialog so it fits), so sometimes it might not be perfect, but if your text block is more hourglass shaped >< that's a good indication that you should try putting your line breaks somewhere else. Basically try to make your text as round as possible if it's in a balloon.
Tumblr media
#3: Balloon Shape
One of the more common mistakes I see webcomic artists making is using perfectly elliptical balloons. It's actually kind of difficult to fit text into balloons that are perfectly elliptical; there ends up being a lot of uneven space around the text, and it looks kind of cheap. Making your balloons slightly more rectangular is going to give you more bang for you buck, they'll fit the text block a little better. I like a hand drawn balloon, I tend to think they add variety.
Tumblr media
One thing you definitely shouldn't do is this:
Tumblr media
This might be a personal preference thing more than any kind of hard and fast rule, but these lettering styles give me the impression that the text is pasted on top of the art, and that no real thought was put into arranging it thoughtfully with the art. These are probably more appropriate for captions, not so much for dialog
Lettering is a part of the medium we're working with, the dialog should be approached as a part of the artwork, and treated as such.
#4: Balloon Placement
The number one, most important rule of lettering, is that the placement of your balloons should never confuse your reader. The goal of balloon placement is to guide your reader around the page, each one should naturally lead your reader towards the next thing they should read. Here's an example of something I see a lot:
Tumblr media
While yes, it is true that on a comics page, people read left-to-right top-to-bottom, if two balloons are connected with a line, I am going to read them one after another. Readers are not going to intuitively assume they should jump to the other side of the page just because the #2 balloon is slightly above #3. In this situation the balloons should be interwoven.
Tumblr media
It should not be possible to look from one balloon to another and skip over intermediate dialog. If your reader misses a part of the conversation and has to double back to figure out what they missed, you've broken the flow and immersion of the page.
Like I said, lettering is all about guiding your reader around the page, it should be a part of your composition from the beginning, don't forget to incorporate lettering into your work when you're first laying out your page. Put yourself in the place of your reader and see how your eyes track across the page.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hope these help! Like I said, I'm no expert; it took me a while to learn a lot of this. I would have found these tips super useful when I was first starting out. If you're interested in the technical side of lettering, I highly recommend The Essential Guide to Comic Book Lettering by Nate Piekos. It's one of the most useful reference books I own, and I learned most of this from that book.
