Kaeya totally saw TCG, and his first thought was.
"Oh, my brother is a total fucking nerd he's gonna love this"
He was totally right, but forget in the process he himself. Is a fucking nerd. So while trying to leave clues for Diluc to take and break and play he got addicted himself.

Hi! For the Unusual Fic-Specific Asks for Authors, I'd like to ask two things about Broken Ground! First, perspective flip: I think you mentioned Lisa being more present at first and then cut out of the scene, so I'd like to know more about that :> How was it from her point of view? And also, time after time: when the group arrived back to Mondstadt after the ordeal, how did Lisa react?
Thank you for the ask! :>
I'm not entirely sure if you wanted Lisa's perspective on the scene that happened, or the one I cut, but I do love the one I cut even if it didn't serve the story, so I'm going to pull it out and POV-flip it up to the point when I realized I had to back up and do something different. >>
Lisa is still standing on the top of the Ordo steps when Barbara and Master Diluc come into view. Barbara she'd expected; Diluc she hadn't, not quite yet. She'd thought she would have to send Huffman, whom Kaeya has assured her is quite reliable when there's information he wants to distribute, to the Angel's Share to ostensibly roust out any off-duty knights who'd taken up drinking there. At which point Diluc would take off on his own initiative, with no idea of his course or what he might intend. This works out much better. "Lisa!" Barbara calls, rushing up the steps. "What happened? That cloud is from where my- where Master Jean went, isn't it?" "It does seem to be," Lisa says, patting Barbara gently on the shoulder. "We don't know for sure what's happened there just yet, but I'm trying to find out." "I take it this wasn't part of the plan." "Not at all," she tells Diluc. "This was only supposed to be a scouting mission. They must have found something very interesting indeed." She keeps her tone confident and unconcerned for Barbara's sake, hiding her own tension. The thought of Jean and Kaeya out there facing something that could have caused such tremendous chaos alone--or worse, having failed to face it, and lying injured somewhere--makes her chest ache with worry. A part of her wishes that she'd been there, though she knows there may not have been anything she could do. The best thing that she can do for them now, Lisa reminds herself, is to stay calm and in control and coordinate the emergency response. It's where her talents most lie. "Have you sent anyone to find out?" "Not yet. If it's something Jean and Kaeya can handle themselves, there's no rush, and if it's something that they can't, then there's no point in sending anything less than another captain to help them out. Noelle's gone up to Dragonspine to collect Captain Albedo, and I'm sure he'll set out as soon as she finds him." She's supposed to keep an eye out for Amber on her way, too; some advance scouting wouldn't go amiss in this situation. But she doesn't want to make Barbara any promises that she can't keep, and collecting Albedo is the higher priority. Amber is impressive for her age, but not nearly as strong, and incapable of dealing with the kind of earthquake or landslide that the evidence implies. "But...." Barbara blinks furiously, clearly fighting back tears, and shakes her head. She knows just as well as Lisa that Lisa is making the right choice for the situation, but Lisa can't blame her for her resistance. Behind her, Diluc is frowning. Lisa can see the wheels turning already, but a little nudge doesn't hurt. She deliberately gives him an arch smile. "You know, Master Diluc, I'm sure a former knight-captain would be just as capable as any of our current captains in an emergency."
...Which isn't the end of that conversation, but is the point where I realized I had to cut it, because I hit that line and realized that I wanted Diluc to have the agency of making that decision himself, but also (as I was writing it from his POV), he was coming to it too slowly to beat Lisa to the punch, because this would have been offering assistance directly to the Knights. So I cut out both problems by having Noelle summarize the situation, and making it a direct and immediate response to Barbara's desire to go herself.
As for Lisa's reaction when she returned, a combination of concern (because of the state they were both in--it didn't make it in, but I actually had it that Kaeya couldn't even take over for her for a couple of days because the Ordo has a policy re: concussions) and relief, because her friends were alive! She had to do the actual work of running the Ordo, and while both of its other top two members were out of commission to boot, so despite what she'd like to do (which was spoil them XD as well as Barbara and Noelle, who were both pretty bad off themselves after all that healing) she had to focus on doing three jobs solo for a while, which was probably even harder once news got about that Jean and Kaeya were both out of commission.
But once Kaeya recovered enough to take over, she unceremoniously took three day's leave and spent it sitting in the Cathedral infirmary drinking tea with Jean and Barbara (and keeping Noelle from working too hard by keeping her busy fetching and making tea for them), reassuring herself that everyone was all right! And sitting on the sisters just a little while she was at it. :3c

I Love You So 3
Diluc Dialogue Drabble
about: the neglected, sickly wife trope in a contract marriage with a man that doesn't quite know how to show his love
inspired by: When It's Lonely @lunargrapejuice // I Love You So - The Walters 🎵 (listen to it!!)
notes: I'm sorry for the week-long wait, I'm writing in the middle of my finals so it's been exhausting! this was such a hard chapter to write for, I scrapped and built it a lot so I hope the final product lives up to your expectations! we'll be ending soon so happy reading!!
༻✦༺ ༻✧༺ ༻✦༺ ༻✧༺ ༻✦༺
"Pardon? You're saying I'm at fault?" Kaeya laughs dryly, placing down his wine glass with a clink on the bar top. It's silent in the tavern, drunk patrons steadily starting to wobble out into the night.
"You very well know her condition. She shouldn't have gone out that day." Diluc turns his back from the cryo user, opting to wipe the empty tables. "Just when she was starting to feel better."
"Her getting sick again isn't something new, you know? It seems to me like you're keeping Y/N caged."
"It's for her health. You know that."
"Well someone has to keep her company."
Diluc turns around to face the cryo user who stayed seated on the bar. The Cavalry Captain smiles at him over his wine glass, finally having caught his attention.
"After all, you and I both know how lonely that old manor can be." Kaeya really shouldn't be meddling in your relationship just when you scolded him last time for it, but forgive him for caring too much for the two of you.
When the redhead doesn't reply, seemingly done with the conversation, Kaeya sighs and takes another sip of wine before talking.
"Just to be clear, she invited me and I simply went along."
Diluc grumbles under his breath, "I suppose it was too much of me to expect any sense of caution from you. You're putting my wife at risk for some what— Death After Noon that she can't even drink." The harshness in his voice would have intimidated anyone, but Kaeya simply leans back with a chuckle.
"Oh? Your wife?" A sly smirk crosses his face, "Ah yes, I suppose she is. Forgive me, dear brother, I've almost forgotten with how little I see her with you — And we met over coffee, if that makes things any better." The redhead looks up from the table he's wiping, clearly irritated with how the conversation was going.
Why can't Kaeya understand how fragile your constitution is? Diluc already lost his father, does Kaeya want him to lose his wife as well– no, clear thoughts. Kaeya is a lot of things, but he's not that. Diluc takes a deep breath, rubbing the skin between his eyes just to calm down.
It was Diluc's decision to have a wedding rather than just signing a contract. While he was elated over the upcoming event, handling all preparations when you allowed him to, he noticed the indifference in your eyes – frowning at every encrusted noctilucous jade and diamond of your gown and bundle of glaze lilies and qingxin decorating the venue. It seems to him that for you, a grand wedding was useless if the groom wasn't who you wanted in the first place.
"This is too much," Were one of the first words you told him since the reception started.
Perhaps it was too much, but the image of you under a white veil enchanted him so that he believed it was worth it – a selfish pleasure so short-lived at the cost of your health.
He remembers the day of your marriage; what was supposed to be the happiest day of a couple's life was ended by your bedside, holding a bucket and towels; maids rushing in and out as you emptied your stomach the sixth time that evening. The exhaustion of having spent the day celebrating – a rather mundane and formal gathering, in anyone's opinion – had finally took its toll on you.
When the doctors couldn't help, he brought in healers to ease the pain, eventually resorting to buying a powerful sleep medication from a green haired pharmacist all the way from Liyue.
Even in your sleep, you shivered violently in cold sweat. Dulled hair and pale skin, weak and incapable, you blended in with the gloom of the manor. He slipped himself in your bed that night, arms wrapped around you to pull you close, pyro vision lightly blazing, warming you; Diluc was never very religious, but his lips sobbed quiet prayers to any archon that would spare a glance and save you.
He learned his lesson. His selfishness had caused this.
That was the first and only night you had shared a bed together.
Diluc sighs.
"The Fatui were spotted south of Springvale, out of their diplomatic jurisdiction. Shouldn't the knights deal with that?"
Kaeya groans, exasperated, "Is business the only thing occupying your mind, dear brother? Just when I thought our conversation was bearing good fruit." He sighs, "Besides, I'm sure the darknight hero has dealt with it already."
"Contrary to your belief, it was miss Lumine. You ought to be glad she's making up for the incompetence of the knights even in the dead of the night."
"Ah yes, the famous miss Lumine," Kaeya swirls the wine in his glass, chilling the little that's left with a cold tips of his fingers, "A little surprising she caught wind of the situation before you did."
"It was more of a coincidence she got caught in on her way to the winery."
Kaeya freezes, eyes boring into his brother's back who was casually arranging the chairs. He puts down his wine glass.
"Miss Lumine... went to the winery last night?"
"Yes."
"And did Y/N say anything?" Diluc stares back at him, the lack of teasing in Kaeya's tone making it difficult to understand his intentions.
"She didn't say anything. They didn't even meet."
"Shouldn't I greet lady Y/n? I wouldn't want to suddenly intrude-"
"It's alright. You must be tired; It's late and Y/n should be asleep by now."
'Archons,' You choke, hand held over your lips to keep yourself from making a sound. As Diluc said; it was late and you really should have been in bed, not at a little corner of the salon, preparing a hot cup of tea for two.
He told you not to wait for him anymore. You should have listened.
You peeked from your corner, unable to resist the curiosity of your husband bringing home his- his... whatever she is to him — at the dead of the night. Diluc stood facing away from you, whereas the other... Golden eyes meet E/C ones as Lumine offered a knowing smile. Your heart stops; was she taunting you? Was this a greeting?
She looks away from you, long lashes blinking at the redhead. You hold your breath as you see the way her nimble fingers wrap around his wrist, soft blonde hair cascading over her shoulders as she pulls him away. She is bright and beautiful, capable and strong, even in the dead of the night she contrasted everything from the dark wood of the manor to Diluc's dark coat on her shoulders.
Even after they left for the guest room, you still held your breath.
"Unbelievable." Kaeya laughs, finally standing up to march towards the redhead. Diluc raises an eyebrow at him. "You are unbelievable."
"Excuse me?"
"You! Diluc Ragnvindr. I'm sure you're no stranger to rumors, do you know what the whole of Mond has been whispering about?"
"I'm not concerned about my reputation-"
"It's not about reputation!" Kaeya seethes, an emotion unfamiliar to Diluc since their separation.
"... If this is about miss Lumine then I'm sure you of all people would know that our relationship is strictly-"
"Oh but does Y/N know that?" He laughs, hands waving around, trying to suppress the cold air emitting dangerously from his vision.
Diluc stays quiet. Cold, red hues staring into a steely grey one.
"You are aware that... our marriage is simply a contract."
The tension thickens, cold fog seeps from the floor surrounding the cryo user before quickly dispersing away. Kaeya takes a step back, shoulders easing and face contorting to a look of disappointment. How stupid, he thinks, She loves you.
Kaeya could have said that out loud; he could force Diluc to understand how foolish and insecure you both were. He wanted to help. He really did – but as he thinks of your lonesome figure in the large manor he once called home, how you come to him of all people for company... How dare he refers to something he's always wanted as a "simple contract".
He could treat you so much better. After all, the age-old agreement asked for a Ragnvindr son. It was in his hands first before a lovesick fool wanted it.
"... Fine. You know what, that doesn't sound too bad at all," Kaeya muses.
"What?"
"Keep acting like that and it won't be long before I have her all to myself."
"... what did you just say?" There's a dangerous look in his red eyes, hands slowly curling to a fist.
"I said I'll have her-"
"You did not just say that." He grits his teeth, eyes wide in a mixture of shock and vexation.
"Oh? Are you worried?" A sly smirk spreads on the cryo user's face, "You said so yourself. It's just a contract marriage. Why would you care if she's in the arms of some other-"
Something behind him shatters. The sound cuts between them like a knife. Kaeya quickly looks at the wine glass he was previously holding, dark flames blazing from the bits and pieces of glass, scarring the wood of the bar top permanently.
"I think we're done here." Diluc states, looking down on the table with knuckles turning white as he clenches a dirt rag.
Where did things go wrong?

The True Experiment
Summary: You visited Albedo, expecting the night to be like any other night, only to find out his true intentions
The second part: The Conclusion
Warnings: Angst and Swearing.
Word Count: 925
A/N: I'm not really sure if anyone would read this but this scenario has been on my mind for a while. Idk if it's any good but happy reading <3
You were fortunate. For the Pyro Vision at least. Less fortunate for the events about to transpire. The air in Drangonspine felt... colder than normal. It was a battle to venture up that mountain, with your boots soaked and lips blue. However, you could deal with it. Not because you had 5 layers of clothes on that boiled you alive while in Mondstadt with an extra pair of shoes in your inventory. Or even the Pyro vision that allowed you to light fires to rest and warm up. Instead, you travelled this dangerous path as frequently as you could to meet your perfect boyfriend. It was a pity he was rarely ever in Mondstadt despite being the chief alchemist.
"Oh well, I can complain to him when i get there." You said under your breath while lighting a fire. The muscles in your body were starting to tense up and you didn't feel like doing some parkour to cross the destroyed bridge just yet. To pass the time, you decided to reminisce about past meetings with Albedo.
Kaeya was the one who introduced him to you. You had picked some mist flowers and used it to treat your burns from fighting hilichurls. Kaeya was shocked when you told him your tale and immediately brought you to Albedo, who was working. He was courteous and cordial but only focused on his research after the initial greeting. The only time he looked up from his desk was when you spoke. His eyes lit up and muttered something about a perfect subject. He seemed to be interested in the mist flower. You had further encounters and rather quickly, mutual feelings bloomed. Now you two were dating.
Watching the fire die into embers, you decided to continue on travelling as the sun was about to set.
You finally reached the camp with a big smile on your face and saw him. Archons, Albedo looked radiant under the dimly lit lamp, writing away at whatever his new experiment was. The pen glided along the page with vigour but still remained graceful and fluent. He was and will always be beautiful.
Deciding to surprise him, you carefully crept towards him. Those training routines really did pay off. You were about to slam your hands down on his shoulders when you saw what he was writing.
Experiment 1203
Subject: Y/N L/N
Their feelings are stronger than anticipated. Whenever the subject is free, they come to Dragonspine and talk about their day or gossip. Although it's annoying, I will continue to listen to further develop their "love" for me. That is the aim of the experiment after all.
"I know you're behind me," Albedo said bluntly. Rage began to cloud your mind and disgust began to slither around you. "How much did you read?"
"What the fuck is this Albedo!" You knew what it was. You just couldn't believe he would do that.
"These are research papers for the experiment I conducted on you. Would you like to read it?" Your heart stopped. It was hard enough to realise he was using you as a test.
"HOW CRUEL CAN YOU BE? WHY WOULD YOU EVEN SUGGEST THAT?" Tears were so close to falling from your face.
"I thought you would like to read more about how I made you fall in love with me but I made the wrong assumption. I will include that in the report," You stood there, dumbfounded while he continued to write. "If you have nothing useful to say then you can leave. The experiment is over as you have found out."
"I know you are made of fucking chalk but Archons, I didn't know your master forgot to give you a heart while creating a pathetic bitch like you," The movement of his pen came to a hault but he never looked at you. "After all that time together, did you ever love me?"
"No. I'm incapable of that and just so you know, you were a great subject. It was so fascinating to diminish an esteemed knight into someone who would do anything for me."
"You are revolting," You could not stop the tears from falling. Albedo was your whole world. It is still unfathomable to you how he could do that. "I did everything for you but to know that you thrived off of feeling powerful makes me sick."
He never said anything to you. He just kept staring down at the report. At least he wasn't writing. You resisted the urge to get violent with him, no matter how much you wanted to punch him right on that star.
"It is so clear to me now why your master left you. He knew he created a monster. At least he knew when to stop things, too bad he forgot to stop your heart before leaving. Perhaps if you acted like chalk and dissolved in water he would come back."
"Shut up."
"Oh my! Were you hurt by that? I figured that master of yours would be a weak spot," he looked at me as I said that. "Finally showing your cowardice face? I really do hope you try to destroy Mondstadt. It gives me all the more reason to kill an abomination like you."
With that, you left. Your heart was shattered and your boots still soaked. You tried convincing yourself that you were more angry about the walk home than what had just happened but you were lying to yourself.
Just as Albedo was when he said that he didn't love you.

Characters Included: Kaeya, Diluc, Xiao, Zhongli
Kaeya:
Giving: Words of Affirmation, Physical Touch
-Have you heard this man's voice-lines? The dude is the literal definition of a sweet-talker.
-Will constantly be telling you how good you look in that new outfit or how well-spoken you just were or how good you are at everything your do.
-Also kind of handsy??
-Not like in an obnoxious way (well at least not all the time). Loves to have a hand around your waist when you guys are just talking at the tavern or taking a walk around Mondstat.
-Will 100% grab your ass out of nowhere and then pretend like nothing happened.
Receiving: Physical Touch, Quality Time
- On the other hand, if you grab his ass, he may pass away on the spot.
-Absolutely loves it when you initiate physical contact, especially in public. Will tease you every single time about it but loves seeing this "bold" side of you.
"Oh? Someone's a little needy today." Kaeya cooed as he turned to glance over his shoulder at the way you were currently clinging to his back. You pouted up at him, making a show of slowly pulling away.
"You don't like it? I guess I'll just need to go find someone else to hug... You think Diluc is at the tavern?" You had taken a single step away when a pair of arms wound their way around your waist.
"Hey now..." There's a bit of a warning in his voice but it's nothing harsh. His breath hits your skin as he nuzzles into the crook of your neck, sending a shiver down your spine. "I never said that."
-Has a pretty packed schedule as a captain so he doesn't have much free time to spend just chilling. So when you take time out of your equally busy schedule specifically to spend with him, he gets all warm and tingly inside.
-Especially loves it when you do the planning since again, he's a busy man. If you show up at the Knight's headquarters and are just like "get in loser, we're going on a date" he'll probably fall in love all over again.
Diluc:
Giving: Gift Giving, Acts of Service
-Mans is the second-richest person in all of Tevat. If even bring up a slight interest in something, expect it to show up at your doorstep the next day, perfectly gift-wrapped.
-Will shrug it off when you confront him about it, wondering why you're making a big deal out of something so trivial.
"Diluc why is there an army of stuffed animals on my porch?" You aren't sure what your eyes are supposed to be. The fiery-haired man before you or the 50 fluffy creatures arranged in perfectly packaged boxes sitting on the ground in front of you.
"The other day, you said you thought they were cute" Diluc shrugs as he weaves his way through the maze of little creatures to stand by your side.
"THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU BUY THEM ALL!"
-Also likes to make things easier for you whenever he can.
-He's always offering to call you a carriage so you don't have to walk places, or make sure that all of the errands are done before you get a chance to get to them.
-He just wants to reduce any stress in your life and it's cute.
Receiving: Physical Touch, Words of Affirmation
-Touch-starved motherfucker.
-Somewhat shy when it comes to PDA and just general affection but over time, he gets used to it and starts to crave it.
-Will never ask you for affection directly but will definitely hint at it. He'll let his hand rest gently on your shoulder for just a little bit too long, or linger after he's already said goodnight, and that's how you know that he wants some love and affection.
-Really likes when you run your hands through his hair. There's just something so soothing about it, especially since he hasn't allowed someone to be that comfortable with him in a while. May just fall asleep in your arms if you keep doing it.
-In the same way, he likes to hear praises. He's not a man who needs to be told by others that he's doing the right thing or that he's doing a good job, but it does kind of feel nice when you're the one saying those things to him.
Xiao:
Giving: Acts of Service, Gift Giving
-He feels like he has nothing of his own to give so he tries to make himself useful in the only way he knows how.
-You mentioned that there's this commission you took that's harder than you expected and has had you busy for the past few days? Oh look at that, somehow the issue is solved. The Treasure Hoarders seem to be creeping too close to the trading ports for comfort. Not anymore they're not.
-Gets borderline creepy at some points where he seems to know every little thing you're struggling with and be able to solve all your problems immediately but are you really going to complain?
-Will constantly bring you food or little things that he saw that reminded him of you.
"Here, take this."
You glance puzzled at the hand the adeptus has outstretched to you. Gently, you reach out and take whatever it is he is offering you, bringing it up to your face to observe. A soft chuckle leaves your lips. In your hands is a tiny butterfly seemingly constructed of folded and interlocking leaf strips.
"Aww Xiao, did you make this for me?"
"I... I just happened to have it," he stutters out, looking anywhere except at you. That does nothing but coax another soft laugh out of you as you gently lean your head against his shoulder.
"Thank you, I'll take good care of it."
"... you better."
Receiving: Words of Affirmation, Physical Touch
- Normally, he thinks the sweet-talking of mortals is just another form of manipulation. That being said, when he hears any of those sugared phrases coming from you, his heart skips a beat.
-The first few times you complemented him, he literally had to stop and process for a second because wow. That felt great.
"Mortals are so incapable," Xiao mutters as he brushes slime condensate off of his sleeve. You sheath your sword before turning back to him, a grin on your face.
"Well anyone would be compared to you. You're really amazing you know!"
He froze. They were just words and nothing he hadn't heard before from workers at the inn or humans in the past, so why was his heart beating to fast?
"Xiao?" You questioned, catching up to him and waving a hand slowly in front of his face.
Coming back to his senses, Xiao huffed, turning his head to the side to hide the red creeping onto his cheeks. "Shut up..."
-Surprisingly enough, also really really likes when you touch him. Of course, always ask first or he might just straight up deck you on sheer instinct.
-But as he gets more and more comfortable around you, he grows to love the way you will absentmindedly grab his hand whenever you want to show him something or the way you like to brush his hair gently out of his eyes when the wind picks up.
-His ears turn red whenever you touch him, no matter how innocent the touch and he will get flustered if you ever decide to tease him about it.
Zhongli:
Giving: Gift Giving, Quality Time
- For a broke bitch, he sure loves to spoil you. Will always bring you to upscale restaurants to try the most expensive dishes or take you out to the stalls to look at exquisite jewelry.
"Which one should I get?"
"Why not both?"
"And who is going to pay for that?"
"That... I did not consider."
- Likes to be around you whenever he can. He's not the busiest person now that he's basically given up the job he had for so long (spoilers???) so he has more time to spend with you.
-If you don't mind, he likes to just be around you throughout the day as you do your own thing, just enjoying being in your company.
Receiving: Quality Time
-The dude has been alive for so long, he just wants to spend some of that time with someone else.
-His favorite thing is just to wander around Liyue Harbor with you, pointing out historical landmarks or just rambling around the history of the land. Loves it when you ask him questions about things or just generally express interest in the things he is talking about.
"That section of the harbor actually used to be a theater."
"Like for plays?"
"Yes actually. However, it was demolished as a sign of the end of the cultural revolution as the city turned to trade as its primary focus."
"Oh yeah you were telling me about that yesterday!" You remark excitedly, gaze drifting around as though you are attempting to imagine the world Zhongli describes. But he is only looking at you, a warm smile spreading slowly over his face.
There is no shortage of people in Liyue Harbor to listen to his stories but only your commit them to memory almost immediately, constantly asking him questions and wanting to learn more about his world. And just for that, he thinks he may fall even deeper in love with you.
note: let me know if you guys like this and i'll do a part two with some of the characters i missed!

Yanderes caring for a sick darling hcs - Mondstadt girls edition
Starring: Amber, Eula, Jean, Lisa, Rosaria
[Mondstadt boys edition]
[Liyue boys edition]
Amber
Despite the fact that she can be rather forgetful and disorganized at times, Amber will consider caring for you as a highest sort of reward and responsibility at the same time.
It’s thrilling to have you all weak and dependent on her, Amber’s darker side swells and blossoms at this sight - outrider will never admit it though, preferring to think of herself as a simple girl who fell head over heels, not some freak who derives pleasure from the control over one vulnerable person.
Moreover, she is a generally kind person finding helping others generally rewarding and satisfying, so tending is also a kind of duty, feeling responsible for your health and well-being. It just doesn’t sit right with her to keep you ill, even if it gives her an upper hand.
The outrider will be very eager to help you recover and get better, even if it means parting away from you. The doctor might prescribe some special herbs that grow only in Liyue or say Dragonspine, and Amber will take it with all seriousness, starting to pack all of the needed equipment the same day.
She will depart for her destination, unafraid of both harsh, boreal winds or the beasts of other land, her determination burning as bright and hot as her pyro-infused arrows.
When she returns, the travelling bag full of the needed herbs and plants, she will lunge at you caging you in a tight hug and peppering your face and neck with kisses, uncaring that she might get sick too - Amber missed you that much.
Then, she will turn into your personal caretaker - always attentive and sometimes stern, she will guide you on the path to recovery, insisting that you need to do everything to get better.
Amber will also be an especially good listener - being sick sucks, she knows it, she also knows that you have a lot of grievances given your situation and if providing a careful ear to all your complaints will ease even an inch of your suffering she will gladly do it.
Eula
The offspring of a widely hated, but also incredibly wealthy clan, Eula has always received all the medical help she needed as a child, be it a thin, shallow scratch and a couple of angry bruises after the sword training session or the seasonal cold she accidentally caught.
On the other hand, she never received any emotional support during those times - recovery is a hard process, both mentally and physically, and spending her days completely lonely and sick left a lasting impression on Eula. Lawrences shrugged off her complaints and pleas for some compassion, an understanding, gentle care - she is of noble blood, she needs to be above some bodily discomfort - no matter if she’s an ill, feverish eight year old in need of some comfort.
Subsequently, she knows how to treat most of the ailments, yet she is bad at providing emotional support. Deprived of love and care her whole life, Eula is clumsy and awkward at providing it for you - you need some direct words of reassurance, something that isn’t hidden by her usual vengeance-obsessed facade.
Eula will spend a considerable amount of mora on your medicine, it’s so big that her Spindrift captain salary might not fully cover - she doesn’t care as your health is her top priority.
Instead of words, she will show her support and care in deeds, cooking some light but savoury and fulfilling soups, as not to disturb your stomach and offering massage and her services.
Eula won’t let you do anything taxing during this time, taking the full brunt of your tasks and jokingly “threaten” you with a vengeance she will have if you dare to disobey her and do something hard.
All in all, she is a very awkward yet dedicated caretaker, becoming extra overprotective during your sickness.
Jean
Jean, to her dismay, can’t afford to spend much time with you with all of Mondstadt relying on her. Your dates are rare and short, yet she awaits them with a mix of excitement and anticipation, pushing herself further and further to complete more work, so nothing can possibly distract you two from your shared time.
She will get very upset once she sees you all red-eyed and coughing, immediately blaming herself for your declining health.
Prepare to be confined to your room and endlessly coddled, as Jean becomes a watchful, overprotective and stern shadow at your side.
She won’t stop working of course, preferring to take some documents with herself as she watches over you and your activities.
It will actually lead to her overworking again. You will have to beg her to take a break, both from caring for you and the Favonius business.
She will cave in, of course, assigning some of her duties to Kaeya and Lisa and asking Barbara to visit and check up on you, before taking a well-deserved day-off.
However, the anxiety of something going wrong will appear in Jean’s head on the first day, on the second one it will become so loud and haunting that she will break her promise to rest and come back both to you and unfinished papers, feeling ten times guiltier now.
Will oversee your recovery, while working. She will be so stressed out that she might catch sickness from you.
Now you will have to tend to her, a sudden turn that hard working yet incapable to work at the moment Jean will find a sudden pleasure in.
Lisa
Lisa is the best graduate of Sumeru academy for the last two centuries, so it’s no wonder that she quickly notices and identifies your sickness.
Despite the initial urge to heal you up, she will stumble, deciding to fully use this opportunity to her advantage.
The Librarian's mind contains multiple recipes of potions that can easily cure most of the illnesses, yours included, it also has a lot of knowledge of weak poisons - substances that don’t kill, but can worsen one’s ailments.
You won’t know better, accepting the potion that is said to quickly fix you up. The substance brings a quick relief - both sneezing and fear disappear, as your cough lightens.
It quickly changes however, as after three or for days of quick and obvious improvements, symptoms crush you with a renewed force. You don’t know the reason for it, yet you never blame Lisa or her potion.
Lisa will teasingly chide you for overworking yourself into the relapse, as she slips a tiniest bit of the poison into your treatment, so you stay weak and needy and so deliciously dependent on her.
This game however will soon bore Lisa - having you vulnerable around you is cute and good, yet caring for you takes both time and effort and Lisa likes you more when you’re more independent.
You will never learn why you had such an awful sickness, but you will be grateful to the witch, thanking her for all the medicine she provided you with.
Rosaria
During her time with bandits, Rosaria has never received proper care - everytime she got sick others would just laugh at her and force her to work, deaf and blind to her distress and suffering.
This habit, an attitude that was forced by others onto her, is still present to this day - the extravagant nun is less than interested in her own health, preferring to ignore the signs of the sickness - she can work with that, she always did.
Seeing you on the other hand all sick and weak emerges something in her - it just doesn’t sit right with her.
Rosaria knows that you won’t die - she had it worse and she’s fine, but the nagging feeling doesn’t disappear. A low level anxiety for your health will be a great nuisance in her eyes, as she continuously loses her sleep over several nights.
It all will end with the nun begrudgingly starting to care for you. Rosaria always thought that doing anything for others is bothersome and tiring, yet now cooking a light chicken soup and checking your temperature she can’t help but feel like something missing returns to her. Maybe she was meant to look after you.
She will never admit it though, unused to having anyone of importance in her life, so you will be stuck with an intimidating nun wordlessly spoon feeding you soups and medicine.
One of the nun’s duties is to tend to the sick, and so disciples are trained in basic medicine. Rosaria thinks about attending at least those lessons.

Tumblr media
𝖆𝖑𝖇𝖊𝖉𝖔 :
✦ This particular chalk prince is all too enthralled with delicacy. His very mantra is all about the fragility of life and creation, surely, you're no exception. He has a unique fascination with life and death, yet seemed to focus little on the precious moments between the cradle and the grave.
✦ Albedo is always gentle, shy and chaste when he embraces you.
✦ At first, he was unfamiliar with the sentiment as social contact had never been his forte, since he was in fact a wall of stone (or chalk?). He'd declined your open offer from his own inexperience, he failed to consider that it may portray him as cold, distant or unwelcoming.
✦ Soon enough, Albedo would begin to ponder how such a simple interaction could bring strong emotion to humankind, yet the more he dwelled upon it, the more he found his arms feeling empty. It was as if his hypothesis was proving itself wrong.
✦ Eventually, he'd come to terms with his growing curiosity, always one to initiate an experiment, he'd offer himself to return the affections - he was very glad he did.
✦ Albedo's coy nature would let him drape one arm around your shoulder, the other taking your hand. He'd wrap his soft hands around your own, placing his head beside your own. His hair would smell soft, newborn and clean, the scent of fresh cotton, baby powder and angel feathers beside your nose as he buried into you.
✦ The chalk prince unfortunately would struggle to find the time for such intimacy on the regular, but when he did find the chance to embrace you, he'd make them last as long as he could.
✦ Perhaps this still lingered from his limited understanding of social cues, but he'd hold onto you for many minutes, more than you could count on one hand. Taking you in his arms, he would touch you as if you were a blooming Cecelia, tenderly and lovingly. You'd return his care, cuddling him and wrapping both arms around his back.
✦ During his hugs, he'd also sometimes find himself tracing over your body with inquisitive hands. Albedo had never had the chance to properly appreciate your anatomy in such a manner before, but he quickly fell in love with your form.
✦ Albedo soon began to realise the adoration behind hugs; his adoration for you also began to grow. Slowly but surely, he actively began to seek out your displays of affection, whether to feel your warmth, play with the fabric of your clothes or caress your shape, he wasn't sure.
'Thank you... deeply, for sharing this moment, you... resemble a statue, I couldn't think of anyone better suited for such an embrace.'
✦ What he was sure of was that he had appreciated the beauty of life in the same way ever before than he did when he was swaddled in your arms.
Tumblr media
𝖇𝖊𝖓𝖓𝖊𝖙𝖙 :
✦ The young adventurer is notoriously unlucky, his clumsiness an infamous curse that seems to follow him wherever he goes. It's precisely the reason he's very hesitant to come too close to you, for fear his awful fortune will wipe off on you. No matter how careful he seems to be, there's always something the archons never seem to be on his side.
✦ Instead of his bad luck rubbing off on you, maybe your good luck would rub off on him, at least, that's what you believed.
✦ Bennett was more than surprised when you asked for a hug, your request catching him quite off guard. He'd think on it for a moment, face painted in light pink as he reached for an invisible itch on the back of his neck.
✦ As the leader of Benny's Adventure Team, he'd find it fitting to stand alongside you, carefully tossing one of his arms over your shoulder. He'd snatch you closer with a squeeze, the marigold colour bandana he wore knotted around his upper arm tickling your chin.
✦ The hug itself would be friendly, full of total and mutual trust as you too curled an arm around his front and back. You'd both sway, beaming as laughing as he flashed you an appreciative thumbs up, the sunkiss on his skin making the clumsy boy hold the same warmth as a summer beach.
'I think you're my favourite adventure buddy, I must have been lucky for once to meet someone like you, traveller!'
✦ Bennett would hope to keep moving through Mondstadt with his arm around you. The idea was short lived, to say the least.
✦ As ever, his curse would catch him at the worst moment, a measly loose stone in the plaza floor catching his foot. Bennett tumbled, and so, you tumbled as well.
✦ The active boy would try his best to manoeuvre himself to catch you before you scraped the ground. You'd end up likely crossed over his lap, a compromising position, but it was all in good fun. You loved Bennett's antics, he brought excitement to what could have easily been a mundane life.
✦ Caught up in giggles, Bennett kept his arms crossed over you as he drew his head around to press both yours and his cheeks together. The moment was another perfect instance for a scrapbook, even some of Mondstadt's more grouchier personas sparing a chuckle for you both.
Tumblr media
𝖉𝖎𝖑𝖚𝖈 :
✦ For a pyro wielder, Diluc Ragnvindr doesn't present himself warmly. Seemingly tired, uninterested and slightly callous, he concerns himself with practical matters when he is alone: economist by day, vigilante by night. Stuck in his ways, he'd see no purpose in day to day public displays of affection.
✦ This doesn't mean he dislikes contact in private, however.
✦ The common misconception would leave one to believe Diluc was a stone gargoyle, incapable and unwilling to act in any other way. Alone with you, he couldn't be further from it, in fact, in most cases, he's the one to initiate the contact, sometimes without even asking.
✦ When, and only when, perfect conditions are met does Diluc lets go of his tough exterior and ultimately boils down to a lovesick puppy. However, he much prefers to be alone alongside you, of course, in these endeavours.
✦ With nobody else in sight, he would be quick to start loving, his stature still ever strong as he discarded his gloves. The dark side of dawn much preferred to hold you with his bare hands to further lift your caring skinship.
✦ Diluc would wear a sincere smile, one of patience and relief as he drew closer to you. He'd wait for you to signal him with your own charming grin, and only then would he leap into the biggest, most tender bear hug one could conjure.
✦ Strong arms suffocated you as one hand rested on the back of your head, savouring the softness of your hair. The other would cross behind you and after a few compassionate minutes, he'd concentrate his strength to lift you up, up and further into his arms.
✦ If you would like to be put down, he'd place you gentle back onto the floor, releasing you slowly. The flaming hero would notice the mess he had made of your hair, tussling it back to it's usual shape with his fingers.
✦ Otherwise, you could wrap your legs around him, and whilst supporting you, he'd spin around and hold you tightly. Head against his chest, you'd twirl stray strands of his strawberry coloured ponytail in your fingers, relishing in the lingering scent of warm booze, sweet flowers and flecks of ash.
'I apologise for the wait, I'm glad you're still here, you know how dearly I treasure your touch.'
✦ He almost seemed a natural, more so than his love driven brother when it came to private intimacy, but truthfully, he still held small amounts of insecurity. His worry would be holding you too roughly, but the more you insisted you loved his hugs, the more the people of Mondstadt would notice him acting much more chipper during his day shifts at Angel's Share.
Tumblr media
𝖐𝖆𝖊𝖞𝖆 :
✦ Smooth talking, smooth moving, smooth loving, there's nothing about the Favonius Cavalry Captain that doesn't radiate utmost self confidence. He acts on his own accord, conducting how he pleases. Still one for manners, he'd clear the water with you far in advance before laying on the next level of his flirtatious affairs.
✦ Kaeya Alberich is incredibly touchy, his behaviour consistent in public, private, wherever he happens to be in the same space as you. His hugs are amatory; romanced laced in the most teasing way.
✦ You could be communing with citizens of Mondstadt, researching in the library, helping sweep away stray leaves at the cathedral on behalf of a desperate attendee. Kaeya makes a habit of catching a glimpse of you as he patrols the city, making a discreet beeline to catch up to you.
✦ Regardless of if you were courting or merely on mutual acquaintanced basis, he'd know exactly which places to stir up when he hugged you from behind.
✦ The frostbearing swordsman would care little about an outside audience, and would enjoy it in true deriding manner if you grew flustered at simply the thought of being intimate in public.
✦ Kaeya would snake his arms around your waist, hands smoothing over the angles or curves. Afterwards, he'd lean into the crook of your neck to place a gentle kiss on your skin.
'I simply couldn't wait another moment, you're heavenly~'
✦ His hair, much like is brothers, would flow over your shoulder like a rich waterfall, scented with rose oil, glistening jasmine and chai.
✦ In private, Kaeya would be even more adoring, favouring a gentler approach opposed to his more teasing public affections. He'd love for you to sit between his legs on the couch, back rested against his chest.
✦ A master of fine swordmanship, he'd be oh so gentle, his touches feather soft, sometimes even so gentle you wouldn't even notice they were there. Regardless, he loves more than life to make a fuss over you when you hug, he loves to play with your hair, he loves to spin circles into your skin with careful fingertips, he loves to whisper every word you'd like to hear all with the intent of making the moment stretch for as long as it could.
✦ Kaeya knew he was free to share his love with you at any moment, but that didn't keep him from making each hug count, after all, he simply just adores the way you fit perfectly into him.
Tumblr media
𝖗𝖆𝖟𝖔𝖗 :
✦ Razor is a curious soul, one of primal roots. Human intimacy is worlds apart from the care he shared with his Lupical, so he craves the best of both worlds. The wolf boy wants to learn, who better to verse him in human affection than you?
✦ When you'd ask him if he would like a hug, he was unsure what it was. He'd tilt his head to the side, clueless, but eager nonetheless. If he had a tail like his canine brother and sisters, it would surely be swaying side to side by now
✦ You'd find it adorable how he'd mimic your movements like a puppet, you raised an arm and he'd do the same.
✦ As you brought yourself closer to him, he'd hesitate slightly, his feral nature urging him to step away, but his human mind knew he trusted you, so he stayed in place and allowed you to cuddle him.
✦ When wolves displayed the same behaviour, it was one of threatening origin, normally the kickstarter of an incoming fight, but with you, he felt no threat at all. Admittedly, he seemed a little stiff when you engulfed him, not quite sure what to do with his limbs, he marvelled in place for a moment.
✦ Razor felt a flurrying heat collect in his face as he gasped, gradually relaxing his shoulders as he melted away into your embrace. He also might have felt his eyes sting a little with joyful tears, it was something new, surely, but the half wolf didn't mind it.
✦ He tried to sneak a glance at how you were holding him so he could do his best to replicate it. Hesitantly, he placed his arms around you in return, though they almost seemed to lag as he moved them. Once they were securely around you, Razor felt himself click into place and squeeze tightly.
✦ Gentle wind breezed over you, catching his distinct scent of earth, fresh rain and crushed berries. He seemed a little cold from the touch, but this was expected from somebody who spent his life outside in the roaming scape of Wolvendom.
✦ His hair, though mildly knotted in some places, truly did feel plush like a wolf's pelt, ideal to pat and stroke.
'You are...warm... Razor likes it, I will... stay, for a while'
✦ Razor had discovered two things: He now loved hugs possibly more than hunting, but what he loved most was your hugs specifically.
✦ He'd be more subtle, yet increasingly obvious in the future. Whenever the overgrown puppy of a boy would crave some attention, he'd shuffle close to you, raising his arms in the same way you did when you introduced the concept to you. Moreover, he'd be seeking you out a lot-
Tumblr media
𝖛𝖊𝖓𝖙𝖎 :
✦ A carefree and free flowing spirit by design, Venti is true to his element when it comes to hugs. He's a very affectionate boy, but in a more innocent sense. Always full of mischievous laughter, he appreciates the silliness and fun behind the little things.
✦ The windborne bard would be very open about hugs and public affections, often asking both if he could receive and give. When accepting his proposal, you'd get to see him close his eyes in delight, cheering to himself in a childish manner.
✦ He'd be all about the performance, being a bard and all gives him this habit. Laughter, singing, general sounds of delight, whatever he can conjure, Venti would beam with happiness from even the smallest contact with you.
✦ Venti would run and spring into you through the long grass strewn across Starsnatch Cliff, gusts of anemo following his excited behaviour.
✦ What's most humouring is the rather short boy propping himself up on the tips of his toes in order to better the hug, draping both of his arms around your neck.
✦ The bard would love to look into your eyes, placing a cheeky kiss on the tip of your nose. Another common practice would be cupping your face with one hand, holding it in his palm with nothing but adoration.
✦ Another curious trick of his involves his elemental skill. Charging it, he'd hold onto you tightly, chirping as you'd both lock into each other.
'Ehe, hold on tightly, I don't want you to fall!'
✦ In one single burst, you'd be launched upwards by a powerful gust, high enough to see all of Mondstadt in the unexpectedly strong arms of your favourite Archon.
✦ Brushing stray hairs that came loose from your hairstyle during the departure, he was something freeing, a breath of fresh air as you drifted contentedly to the delicate grass below.
✦ Everything about the old young bard seemed peaceful as you'd stay warm, knitted together laying down amongst the dandelions.

kaeya isn't as smooth as anyone thinks (and that's okay)
note from kin: basically i saw the ‘kaeya is flirty and constantly flusters reader who has a giant crush on him’ trope and went ‘but what if KAEYA was the one with the giant crush’
quick background: reader is the ‘strong, silent, stoic’ type, has a cryo vision, and works alongside barbara in the church of favonius as a medic
i couldn’t think of a gender neutral way for you to be addressed that sounded natural so i just had you be called your name throughout the piece, but just know that barbara would be addressing you with older sibling honourifics and kaeya would use some sort of respectful title (but in like. a flirty way)
fandom: genshin impact
character(s): gn!reader, kaeya, barbara, bennett
pairing(s): kaeya/reader,
warning(s): non-descriptive blood/mild injury
genre: fluff
Tumblr media
“Master Kaeya!” Barbara exclaims as a familiar cavalry captain strides into the cathedral, dripping blood all over the freshly-polished tiles. “What happened this time?!”
“Just a run-in with some hilichurls,” He says with a nonchalant shrug, swiping away a bead of blood from the corner of his mouth. “Nothing to worry about.”
“Nothing to worry about?!” She hurriedly ushers him into the hospital wing, hands already beginning to sparkle with Hydro healing magic. “You— you’re bleeding extremely heavily! I need to get these wounds closed up as soon as possible—”
“Relax,” Kaeya placates, giving one of her pigtails a playful tug as she frantically flits about him like an agitated butterfly. “I don’t feel a thing. It’s all superficial, really…”
“Still…!” She hurries over to one of the cupboards and fumbles around for a roll of bandages. “Please sit down! This won’t take a moment...!”
“Hey, hey, calm down,” He says, holding up his hands. “Is [Name] in today?”
“Yes, they agreed to watch over Bennett while I took care of our patients…” She answers, still rummaging about feverishly, then suddenly pauses, and Kaeya grins slightly. She’s seen right through him. “Ah, wait… Master Kaeya, is this what I think it is?”
Kaeya laughs as she looks up at him with large, reproachful blue eyes, hands set firmly on her hips. Maybe he’d be intimidated if Barbara didn’t have the face of a baby lamb. It’s just kind of adorable. “Perhaps.”
She blows out a breath, cheeks puffing up, then shakes her head with a resigned sort of smile. “I don’t think [Name] will appreciate you disturbing them…”
“I won’t be disturbing anyone,” Kaeya says with a cheeky sort of grin, raising his hand as if showing off the gash in his forearm. “I’m a patient, after all. So, where will [Name] and Bennett be?”
“In the west wing,” Barbara answers, dropping her hands, though the soft blue glow remains.
“To the west wing we go, then,” He replies, and strides off with a flick of his cape. Barbara follows hurriedly, clutching the roll of bandages to her chest.
You’re sat by the window when Kaeya pokes his head in through the door, flicking through a book. The sunlight streaming in behind you seems to illuminate the pale colour of your robes to an ethereal glow, and Kaeya can’t help but silently compare the sight to the illustrations of divine celestial beings he’s seen in books. He takes a deep breath, briefly pressing his hand to his chest, then moves to greet you.
You seem to notice his presence before he can, however, raising your head from your book and practically pinning him to the spot with those clear eyes. “...Master Kaeya.”
He smiles, unable to help the slightly goofy quality of his expression. Archon knows that Lisa would never let him live it down if she saw him now. “[Name].”
“Hi, Mr Kaeya!” Bennett exclaims, attempting to raise a bandage-wrapped hand in greeting, but having to drop it as its sling goes taut. Kaeya offers a brief wave in response, but he’s far too absorbed in looking at you to say anything more.
You stare at him in silence, eyes moving down to the patches of red staining his sleeve, then back up at the scratch on his left cheek. Your expression is unmoving, cold, even, but he still has to try hard not to overheat under the sheer intensity of your gaze. Any flirty quips that he might have thought of trying on you just dry up in his mouth as soon as they come.
“What happened?” You ask finally.
“Master Kaeya says he encountered some hilichurls,” Barbara answers for him, slipping into the room and standing beside him. Bennett grins enthusiastically as soon as he sees her, and she responds with a sweet smile of her own.
You raise an eyebrow at him, and Kaeya can’t help but feel a little embarrassed. “Hilichurls?”
“They were rather... aggressive,” He answers, folding his arms and shifting his weight to his left leg. “And there were quite a lot of them as well.”
You blink slowly. “I would have thought that the Cavalry Captain would be sufficiently capable to ward them off.”
“Well, when you’re surrounded on all sides, there’s not much you can do,” Kaeya shrugs as nonchalantly as possible. He’s not going to admit that he’d stood there and allowed them to get in a few good hits just so he’d have a good reason to come by.
You sigh and close your book, setting it on the windowsill beside you. “I suppose you’ll need some healing.”
“Please,” He responds with a chuckle, inclining his head. You nod and get to your feet.
“Keep an eye on Bennett,” You instruct Barbara, who quickly moves over to take your place beside the unlucky adventurer’s bed. “I trust that he’ll be well under your care.”
“Of course!” She nods, beaming as you gently pat her on the shoulder. “You can count on me!”
You nod, the faintest of smiles crossing your face. Kaeya almost feels as if he shouldn’t be witnessing such a sight, but he can’t help but stare in subtly open-mouthed awe until the smile disappears, and you begin leading him back into the east wing.
“How deep are the wounds?” You ask monotonously as you guide him to one of the chairs. He sits down without needing to be told, obediently holding out his right arm and allowing you to unfasten the cuffs and pull back his sleeves.
“Not deep enough to be too painful,” He answers, shivering slightly as he feels your cold fingers press into the skin around the wound, carefully prodding about to see the extent of the damage. “I’m sure that you’ll make quick work of it.”
His compliment doesn’t seem to affect you in the slightest - quite frankly, it’s a little disheartening how little you seem to care. “Then why didn’t you have Barbara heal your wounds for you? Do you think she is incapable?”
“No, not at all!” Kaeya hurries to answer, unnerved by the sudden narrowing of your normally calm eyes. “I just… rather like seeing you. That’s all.”
Your hands pause for the briefest of moments before returning to their work. Is Kaeya imagining the surprise that flashes across your face? “...is that so?”
“Of course...” He tries to offer a suave sort of smile, only to grimace when he feels you pinch the raw edges of his wound together in preparation to seal it.
You’re silent for a while, though Kaeya can’t quite tell if it’s because you’re absorbed in your work or if you’re thinking about something else. He tries not to stare, he really does, but you draw his eye with such deep compulsion that he can't seem to tear his eyes away.
Finally, your stern expression softening ever so slightly, you say, “...then you are welcome to come by whenever you please, injuries or not.”
He jolts so hard that he almost rips the wound open again as soon as you’ve sealed it, feeling a hot flush rise to his face. His mouth falls open, and he aggressively snaps it shut again as you look back up at him. “I…”
“Bennett has been rather vocal about his suspicions as to the frequency of your visits,” You say steadily and factually, a ghost of a smile tugging on your mouth. “I wasn’t sure whether to believe him before, but…”
“O-oh?” Kaeya pinches subtly at his own leg in an effort to snap himself back to his senses. Where on earth has all his charm and poise gone? He feels like a young boy again, stumbling over his words as his heart hammers like a drum in his heart. “What exactly has Bennett been saying?”
“He seems to be under the impression that you’re getting yourself injured deliberately,” You answer, and Kaeya mentally slaps himself. Of course he’d been too obvious. But, really, how else is he supposed to find an excuse to see you so often when you’re otherwise always so busy with patients?
“...I suppose I’ve been caught.” He raises his free hand to rub almost bashfully at the back of his neck. “Is it such a crime to want a reason to visit?”
You look him directly in the eyes, and he has to fight the urge not to throw his arms around you right then and there. How can one’s gaze be so blank and yet so warm at the same time? “Perhaps it would be better if you weren’t injured.”
“It’s the only way to make sure you’ll see me,” He chuckles. “You hardly ever seem to leave the hospital wing.”
You pause and frown slightly, as if confused, and the sight is so endearing that Kaeya doesn’t think his heart has ever felt so full. “...I don’t think I spend all my time here…”
“I don’t believe I’ve ever even seen you out on the streets,” He continues, fighting back a grin as you bring a hand to your chin, still looking rather puzzled. He pauses, taking in a breath, then asks, “Why don’t you stop by Angel’s Share in the evening some day?”
Your frown smooths out slightly, and you cock your head to the side. “...will you be there?”
His cheeks heat up again. “Of course - if you’d like me to be.”
You nod thoughtfully, pulling back from his arm. The wound is little more than a thin scar now. “I would.”
You shake your hand out briefly, coating it once again in your special brand of healing Cryo energy, and raise your frost-covered palm to the scratch in Kaeya’s cheek, only to see that he’s already staring intently at you. It’s almost unnerving how intense the glacial blue colour of his eyes is - so deep that you could almost be frozen in them completely, like a fly trapped in amber.
He moves the hand of his uninjured arm up to your own cheek, slowly, almost as if he’s in a trance. You can’t quite read the expression on his face - the gentle slope of his brows, the soft corners of his eyes, his ever-so-slightly ajar mouth - but it’s compelling in such a way that you can’t pull your gaze from his.
Almost abruptly, he smiles bright, eyes closing, and he leans forward. You freeze in place as he throws his uninjured arm around your shoulders and pulls you close, turning to press the softest of kisses to the side of your head.
“Kaeya?” You whisper, and his grip tightens slightly. He doesn’t respond, only laughs quietly, almost giddily, a deep sound that seems to reverberate through both your body and his.
You slowly raise your own arms and wrap them around him in turn, leaning into his touch. Kaeya laughs again, and this time you can’t help but smile, pressing yourself further into his embrace.
Footsteps and voices are approaching from somewhere far in the distance, and perhaps you hear a knock on the door, but in this moment, you can’t bring yourself to care. For now, the patients and healing can wait.

It was supposed to be a simple commission. “I’ll be back before sundown!” you yelled over your shoulder as you walked out of the tavern.
“Sundown” his ass.
Diluc had been waiting for you for four hours pacing around the tavern until he couldn’t take it anymore. “They’re a really good fighter,” he told himself, “they probably got lost again.” But the reassurance was in vain. The moon was high in the sky and there was no sign of you anywhere in Mondstat. Chugging the last bit of alcohol, Diluc picks up his weapon and packs some food for the road, and sets off to go find you himself.
When he goes to your commission location, the only thing left is a demolished hilichurl village, parts of the huts aflame and sword marks up and down the archery towers. But he does notice one thing. It’s so minute, Diluc almost walked right over it. There is the faint elemental trace in a circular shape. An abyss mage. With their teleporting ability, it was probably easy for them to overwhelm you with hilichurls before trekking you off to some far off base. Diluc can feel the anger and disappointment coursing through him. Anger for how the Fatui could touch a hair on your precious head and being disappointed in himself for not looking for you sooner. He had failed as a protector of Modstadt’s people, and he’d burn anyone that gets in his way to find you. Hell has no fury like an angry Diluc and it only took him half an hour to track where they took you.
Sneaking behind the bushes, Diluc can see you tied by rope covered in ice, struggling to get free. The abyss mage’s voice is shrill and echoes through the camp of hilichurl minions. “What are you planning, traveler? You know you are not from this world.” Diluc can see you roll your eyes, your body shaking. “I already told you I have no idea what you’re talking about,” you answered, your voice unwavering but hoarse. Diluc props his sword up next to him from the bush. Your gaze snaps to the gleam in the bushes before moving back to the abyss mage. Luckily, the abyss mage doesn’t notice and shoves his staff near your throat. “Don’t play games with me, traveler. You know something and I’m willing to use violence to force it out of you.” Diluc can hear you chuckle even through the relief that flashes in your eyes. “If it’s violence you want, then that’s what you’ll get.”, you say, as Diluc launched himself at the abyss mage with a battle cry. Using his Pyro, he melts the rope off of your body and hands you a Sunsettia before yelling over the sound of battle. “Stay put! I’ll come get you when it’s safe.” The abyss mage and hilichurls run around the camp chaotically, not prepared for Diluc’s rage.
By the time the fight ends, the camp is nothing but ash. You had stayed put like Diluc told you, munching on an apple you found while you waited for him to loot the camp. Diluc crouched next to you, his voice soft. “Are you okay?” Diluc asks, his hands reaching towards your face to rub your cheek. You give him a small smile, your voice raspy but still happy. “Yeah, I’ll be okay. Thanks for looking for me. Sorry I missed our date.” Diluc smiles, for the first time since you left this morning and plants a firm kiss on your forehead. After the range of emotions both you and Diluc had been through, the day had come to a peaceful resolution, as you walked hand in hand back towards Mondstast, safe and sound.

>< Kaeya Alberich ><
At this point, Kaeya just wants you back in his arms.
He knew sending you into a dungeon, especially without him being there was a terrible idea. You had been sent to investigate a dungeon that had highly suspicious activity going on, and for the past three hours, he’d been pacing back and forth in front of the dungeon doors. To not make up feel incapable, he let you walk in on your own, sending you off with flirty words of encouragement. Now all he wants is to bust into the dungeon and whisk you away from this cruel world.
Doing just that, Kaeya slams open the doors of the dungeon, his heavy footfalls echoing through the space. Any unlucky slime or hilichurl that gets in his way is graced with an icy glare, making quick work of the first rooms of the dungeon. But then something sparkly catches his eye. Picking it up, he notes it’s a piece of your favorite cape, and his heart starts to ache. When he first entered the dungeon, he held onto hope that you were just taking your time or you went adventuring, but this confirmed his fears. Staring at the scrap of fabric, his thoughts begin to spiral as he jumps to the worst scenarios. They’ve taken you to a distant nation and he can never save you. You’re being tortured and you’re alone and you’ve lost hope. You’re sitting in some fiery pit, your spirit and his care burning with you. Feeling his anxiety grow, he tries to do those breathing exercises you taught him, but he can see his own breath due to the temperature he created. Standing still for a moment, he remembers a distant conversation you had about this very instance. “I hope you know I’ll always try to save you,” he had told you that night, his voice resolute and determined. You giggled at his dramatics, your hands tracing his eye patch gently. “I know,” you answered simply. “Because I’d do the same.” Breathes evening out, Kaeya feels his anxiety ebb away, letting in a renewed sense of determination and simmering anger. They fucked with the wrong knight. Grasping his sword with resolve, Kaeya sets on his way to find his beloved and prays that the poor souls that hurt you beg for mercy because he doesn’t plan on giving them any.
The air in the dungeon is frigid, and even before you can see Kaeya you know he’s coming. Glancing at your tattered clothes, and knowing Kaeya as well as you do, you knew he would find you sooner or later. For a guy with an eye patch, he’s very observant. And you also know he knows how to make an entrance. The floor around the metal door keeping you captive freezes before shattering with a loud clang. Pieces of metal crumple to the floor before you see Kaeya’s silhouette. Slowly, walking in, you can see frozen tears gathered near his eye, as he grabs keys he got from who knows where and the cuffs around your wrists fall. Grabbing one of your hands, he brings it to his lips, as new tears spring from both your eyes. “I told you I’d save you,” Kaeya says, his voice cracking with emotion. Wiping his tears with shaky hands, your smile lights up the dark cell. “I always knew.”
