Jungle Cruise age regression moodboard!
HELLO! Starting off a new series with this post! I’ll be doing disney rides as moodboards! I’m specifically doing walt disney world rides because that’s what I know best! I’ll go area by area, park by park, and if I finish all of walt disney worlds rides, then I’ll continue and start doing californias as well.

personally I feel like Jungle Cruise being a movie led by a black polynesian man and directly addressing colonialism and subverting the "savage Natives" trope has been really overlooked. and I don't think they necessarily did the best job or should be hailed as a perfect unproblematic masterpiece, but in a genre that is so famously white and anti-Native they made an effort to do better and not perpetuate all this shit. they showed that it's possible to make an adventure movie that actively goes against these problems and can still be as fun and successful. for a company that shapes the current media landscape and taste, it is important that disney makes choices like this and doesn't continue in apathy, ignoring the ways media can do harm. it deserves acknowledging that they made a good choice.
