My whole high school went on a Disney cruise as a field trip. The Disney ride makers had made large scale versions of Disney boat rides made for the cruises to go on. Needless to say it was disastrous when the cruise full of 3000+ high school age kids was sent through the scaled up version of Splash Mountain. Also, every room on the cruise was normal except for mine, which was just the bathroom from saw 1.
Splash mountain shouldn't be rethemed to go with Princess and the Frog. If they were absolutely determined to make a Tiana themed ride at Disney world, they should have built a restaurant with a connected river ride like the Mexico pavilion at Epcot.
Splash mountain's retheming should have been based on Brother Bear.
And as you climb the part before the big drop you get the northern lights spooling out around you, like cave paintings suddenly coming to life along the walls, some probably appropriate mystical build-up music, before the older brother eagle shows up right at the crest, then you plunge down into the salmon run and get some more delightful Phil Collins music.
Just saying, we could have gotten two cool rides and a sweet Cajun sit down restaurant, instead of one ride that doesn't make much sense build wise.
I’m drawing redesigns of the Disney Attractionistas line! I like some of the design aspects but a lot I don’t really like so I’m putting my own spin on it! Let me know which one you’d like to see first
I'm excited to see the Princess and The Frog alterations being made for Splash Mountain in the upcoming year but I feel Disney missed an opportunity to make it Emperor's New Groove themed when before your boat dips it's Kuzco's and Pacha's dialogue on a loud speaker when they're tied to the log as they're about to go over the falls.
