The only thing that kept me going was knowing you were here.
#bcsedit#better call saul#mcwexler#jimmy x kim#kim wexler#jimmy mcgill#been seeing a lot of people saying that they don't deserve a happy ending after everything and though i get why that's being said#i disagree with the idea that they must be punished by the narrative in the form of an absolutely devastating end where they both die or#are broken down even further because they're Bad People and they Deserve It...their relationship is the heart of the show and#i don't believe that the writers spent over half a decade building this relationship up just to leave everything hanging in the balance#we can argue all day about jimmy and kim being Good or Bad but they love each other. they do. and bcs is a love story#do i believe that they're going to live happily ever after and get a fairytale ending? no of course not but i don't see a doom and gloom end#for them either. narratively speaking jimmy has been in prison all this time and who knows what kim has been up to all this time#i just don't think it would be narratively satisfying if the ending was about punishing them i really don't#i think it's going to be bittersweet for sure but there's no doubt in my mind that it'll be full of heart....#but god all of the takes about jimmy not deserving to meet up with kim in the gene timeline are just making me root for it even harder#and i really hope the world turns back to color the moment he sees her and idc how many people think it's cheesy <3#and you know what someday maybe they'll finally get their house.#mine

Okay, DL!Scott, here comes the promised rant. (p.s., Scar, if you're feeling nice, do you think your Watcher powers could override Scott? I feel like Pearl might need to hear at least some of this)
OKAY!
Pearl didn't mean to leave Scott. She was genuinely looking, and ran into almost nobody. She went to the nether with Martyn because he was the only person she could find, and they wanted to find some stuff for their soulmates. MARTYN was the one running into danger, while Pearl tried to play it as safe as you can in the Nether. Her main focus was getting mushrooms so they could heal any damage. Whenever she did take damage she instantly started shoving food in her mouth while yelling sorry to the air, because even though she knew that her unknown soulmate couldn't hear her, she was still so genuinely sorry. Martyn started pushing to go into a bastion, and she was the one to point out that maybe that wasn't a smart idea. When she and Martyn came back to the overworld, she was excited for like .2 seconds, because while they were angry and Martyn she was happy! Because Cleo and Scott and her were together again! And then it dawned on her that they were leaving her too. When, while I'm sure it looked different from Scott's pov, from her perspective her only crime was going with Martyn, let me reiterate the only other person she could find.
And then Martyn turns around and says "I'm breaking up with you too." And then Ren banishes her from Box calling her a demoness. And then Tilly, the only living thing on that server that had showed her any kindness, died in front of her eyes. Of course she went mad. She wasn't just the crazy ex girlfriend, she was a hurt and lonely and grieving girl who had just watched the only person she cared about die.
And you have the nerve to call her the ignorant one? She is the one that's in the wrong here?
.
You're the least likable version of Scott, you know that? You call the others, who are all much better fighters than you according to the statistics, weak because they were attached. Yeah, maybe you weren't married, maybe you didn't have quite the same relationship as the three G's, maybe you didn't have an ally that you allowed to kill you because you were going to die anyways and if anyone is going to get your time it's them. But you did have Cleo. Don't act like you're above attachments. In the one game where you were supposed to have partners, the single game where the mechanic was designed so that nobody would end up alone, you pushed Pearl away. Martyn and Cleo became on at least decent terms towards the end, you and Pearl did not. No matter how much Pearl wanted to. You went against all of that. And still you think that you are somehow better than the others?? No wonder the Watchers hate you.
You're a b*tch, DL!Scott. I hope you know that
-Luna
(wow that was impressive)

'I have bad vibes about lola today she's probably being run by --'
who cares. who honestly cares. you aren't defeating racism or standing up for victims by beating a dead horse about a woman who hasn't been online for years, we already know Lindsey's a dickhead. but I promise you can dislike her without inventing other reasons to do so or say that everything surrounding her is eeeeeevil + if she's nicely interacting with fans and liking their work thru lola hey thats a neat thing at least. ill give her that for once

@somethin-stupid-67
Season 6 still canonically happened. He went to prison in 2010. He did end up serving 6 years of his sentence, but in 2016 Kim was contacted by Caleb Dawson, the eccentric preacher of a unitarian church based in Wyoming. He was impressed with her recent heroism at the womens' clinic, but the truth is Dawson has been paying attention to Saul Goodman and his associates for quite a while. Dawson used to be a friend of Ricky Sipes (BCS S1E5), who did end up going ahead with his secession plan after Jimmy turned him down. Dawson opposes the government and prisons in general, and so he's been planting his followers on parole boards for quite some time now. Considering Saul has become an icon among libertarian weirdos (the church's main membership), Dawson would be happy to pull some strings for Kim; because Jimmy is a nonviolent offender, he can be transferred to a minimum security prison in Wyoming, and from there they can get him released on house arrest in a matter of months. There's just one thing Dawson needs from Kim first: The megachurch game is really a winner-take-all industry, and Dawson has made enemies with some of his conservative competitors; other churches he'd like to crush and absorb into his own. Sure, Kim's not a lawyer anymore, not on paper... but she's still got some magic in her... and if she could come up with a plan for the other churches to lose their tax-exempt status... well she scratches his back, he'll scratch hers.
Of course Kim initially runs for the door. She doesn't want to prank anymore; shit gets real. But the universe quickly chips away at her reluctance: before the meeting with Dawson even took place, a corrupt cop beat her for helping a 17 yo get an abortion (and this also leads to her breaking up with Glenn). While seeing a doctor after that assault, she learns she has a few good childbearing years left, but the window is closing fast. What's more, hard to say if it's depression, clairvoyance or what, but Kim has been having this persistent, recurring dream; she keeps thinking back to "Suspiria" 1977, a horror movie she and Jimmy watched one night only a week before they broke up in 2004. It feels like more than a dream; it feels like she's seen a glitch in the matrix. And if her nights are haunted with tingles of the supernatural, her waking hours are plagued with apocalyptic visions. She wants to dismiss the feeling of doom as just being a symptom of hating her life in Florida (something she's tried to just accept) but when Hillary loses the election, and she sees her own cowardice reflected back in Clinton's willingness to just "accept" the results even if thousands will die, it's the final straw. Maybe Kim's not a good person, maybe when she acts, people can get hurt... but she can't spend the rest of her life living a lie/waiting around to die.
*Hillary didn't lose the popular vote. You know what I meant; she won the popular vote but the EC handed the title over to the traitorous rapist anyway. We all saw what happened.
Between 2010 and 2016, Kim and Jimmy were still meeting in prison once every few months. The scene we saw at the end of S6 WAS supposed to be goodbye, but as Jerry Seinfeld famously said, never bet against the backslide. When Kim went back to volunteering as a law clerk, that meant going back to the same old vocational headaches, and that just made her miss him all the more. First she was only visiting the prison every 6 months, then only once a month; by 2016 she's in the lobby like clockwork every Thursday. Everything else in life has been a disappointment, and even if things were going better for her, she'd want him there.
It was a small betrayal, but the fact is she did conceal her reasons from him, for why she really wanted him out. She emphasized the fact that the US prison system was exploiting him in a way that had nothing to do with whether he was rehabilitated; she emphasized how the nation was devolving into anarchy and he's the only man who's ever made her feel truly safe. She didn't mention that she was trying to get pregnant until Episode8 of Slippin' Kimmy, when he was already sprung. And at first he didn't react too well to the proposition; he's getting kinda fed up with how she jerks him around.

anyway this scene is making me insane like this is literally what i’ve been talking about . i think she is so sick of being confined to her role and like having to be the “good one” or something and having people tell her what she should or shouldn’t do, or should or shouldn’t be okay with, and now with what happened in the desert she’s sorted out her priorities and they’re different from what everyone is telling her they should be and yes one of her priorities is her pro bono work but another one is pulling off these elaborate cons with jimmy and actually those two things are not that different to her, it’s a similar kind of challenge/risk/reward situation . and like she can be honest with herself about what she wants without having it compromise any other part of her life . and for both of them now i think a lot of their boundaries have been revealed to be lines drawn in the sand that are very easy to step over, over and over again . so anyway idk what i’m talking about but i get frustrated for her that other people are constantly trying to put her on a pedestal, because sure it’s nice to be admired but what about like her agency and her actual desires and personality and shit like that . anyway i think she should be allowed to be as fucked up and conniving as she wants. as a treat

like, sam and al were good friends before sam leapt, the show establishes that much. we know that sam helped al through his alcoholism and al helped get project quantum leap off the ground, so they've presumably bonded over those experiences. but as the show reveals more about al you grow to understand that he has a well of deeply painful memories and associations that sam is completely unaware of. he'll hint at them with 'nam references or ex-wife jokes, but not touch them -- not unless he's forced into it (like in MIA) or if he feels it's necessary to help sam. so sam's memory loss intersects with al's emotional reticence in this really fascinating, kinda fucked up way... what has sam forgotten about al, and what has al omitted?

Bob's Burger's Incorrect Quotes 3
Zeke: [straightening himself out] So, I did write down a wish. [he brings out a card] I'd uh. I'd like to go on a date...with Tina.
Jimmy Jr.: [turns] You? You're terrible with girls.
Zeke: What? No. No. No. Jimmy Jr., look at this. And this. And this here. Jimmy Jr., look at all of this. [he gestures to different parts of his body and spins around] Heh. No. I'm great with girls.
[Scene flashes back to a cheap fast food joint. Zeke and a busty, blonde-haired woman are standing at a counter with buckets of chicken drumsticks.]
Zeke: We both got buckets of chicken. Wanna do it?
Blonde Woman: [shrugs] Eh, okay.
[Scene switches back to Jimmy Jr. and Zeke.]
Zeke: But you, Jimmy Junior. You are amazing with ladies. You know, classy ones. The kind that smell good, and can read. And that always have their glasses on just kind of crooked. You know? The ones that don't go for a guy like me.
[Jimmy Jr. looks at Zeke with a smug grin.]
Jimmy Jr.: Hmm, and why is that, do you think?
Zeke: C'mon, Jimmy Jr., I don't know.
Jimmy Jr.: Well, a mystery we will take to our graves then. Goodbye.
Zeke: Wait. Wait. Ah. [sigh] Okay. Look. Fine. Jimmy Junior. This never leaves this room [sigh]. You are better than me. All right? I need your help.
Jimmy Jr.: I'll do it. On one condition.
Jimmy Jr.: Say that [pushes his phone that’s recording towards Zeke] again.

sure is telling how the supergirl show never let kara exist without bringing up superman all the time (giving him at least one appearance per season) and then when they had a chance to make a superman show they set it in a universe where kara doesn’t exist hmmmmmm

Speaking of blatantly not paying attention, there was an ostensibly tribute to Kim saying “she has no guile in her at all”. Kimberly Giselle Goodman doesn’t deserve this slander
no guile? NO GUILE? who made jimmy even think to go cover his tracks and pay off the kid at the copy shop? he would have gotten caught immediately if not for kim. and that's just an early example as I rewatch. are they even watching the same show?
