-mikes mpd was so weirdly represented if you can even call it representation

-Heather deserved her win in world tour,we all know it we just won’t admit it

-Lindsay wasn’t wrote the best,they took almost all her development from island and action away in the next few seasons(she was done so dirty in all stars)

-Gwen and Duncan could have worked together,but he should have broke up with Duncan before they got together

-Gwen isn’t a bad person,she kissed Duncan,but she only spent basically 2 seasons trying to make up for doing so.

-Courtney and Duncan became really toxic during and after action,then breaking up was for the greater good,Courtney moved on and Duncan didn’t

-Heather actually respects Lindsay,she’s not that much of a witch to not realize she had her moments

-Anne Maria just like the rest of the troti cast,was oblivious to mikes mpd,which in my opinion does not make it her fault that she kissed him/Vito which made zoey mad,she didn’t get it,Zoey didn’t get it,which = Anne Maria is not a bad person(maybe a bit greedy,but aren’t we all?)

-mike not telling anyone abt his Mpd was such a dumb move on his part,plus in reality if someone like that was on tv for anything they’d be obligated to tell people abt it

-Dakota,Ezekiel,Scott and Alejandro were so abused by total drama,full body casts in the form of robot suits for Al and Scott and then the awful mutations that Dakota and Zeke had to go through

Looking at all the stuff you said in that recent reblog of yours and just nodding my head in so much agreement. Like, the Gravity Falls canon is so fun but if you (the royal you) poke at some of the more conspiratorial elements of it...it can SO very easily veer into 'Not Okay' territory, depending on how one approaches it in their fanworks.

Especially the fact that Bill is literally based off the triangle symbol that is often used to represent the Illuminati, and...well, there's a lot of Not Okay stuff tied to them that we don't have time to unpack.

It's just good to be VERY careful and find a balance between the borderline Not Okay stuff canon gives us and finding an approach that is...let's say CLOSER to okay. This is a long winded way of saying I agree with the stuff you said 👍

Yeah, especially with Mr. Illuminati-Face here, so many of the ideas that are very lightly brushed over duck so close to some really awful real-world ideas—but in most cases, what's actually presented in canon is so quickly passed by that like... it only really works because you don't think about it too hard. Wading any deeper into it is like walking into a minefield. (Here's the part where I guiltily confess that one of the lines that always gets a wheeze out of me is the super fleeting mention of "Ronald Reagan's masters," and I think the reason it always gets me is because it's SO blink-and-you'll-miss-it, combined with a heap of dark comedy "OH NOOO PLEASE DON'T HAVE HIM SAY THAT". But do I want to engage with that idea? God no.)

If you give serious credence to half the claims Bill makes or that are made about him (much less the things without him that get peppered in), then you're essentially saying that Gravity Falls is the kind of world with secret globe-spanning history-controlling government-running overlords that's being espoused by, most prominently, right wing q-anony antisemitic racists... and like, that's not the kind of world I want to celebrate and play around in. I don't want stories about the kind of world the worst conservative politician believes is real.

And all those more serious issues aside—just from a sheer characterization perspective, Bill is a goddamn liar. Mr. Illuminati-Face Overstuffed-Resume Dress-For-The-Job-You-Want. If all his big claims are treated like unadulterated truth, that ignores a lot of opportunities to say he was lying or distorting the truth in a way that makes him more interesting.

Read up on the actual real Illuminati that actually existed before their name got hamfistedly shoved into every gross conspiracy theory you can imagine, and they're just... such a not a big deal. It was like two dudes that used the mystique of LARPing as an ancient secret organization to dazzle a handful of people into reading a few mildly politically spicy pamphlets, and then got shut down. They didn't do anything but talk to each other about how important they were (they weren't) and wank off to their own sense of intellectual superiority.

I feel like that's a good metaphor for how to treat Bill Cipher's position in human history. The conspiracy theory talk has to be treated like self-congratulatory hot air. Yeah, he's like the Illuminati—in that, like the Illuminati, he wildly oversold his importance to the people he was trying to recruit, and his actual influence has been consequently overblown compared to the underwhelming truth. His face is everywhere, signifying nothing of any real importance. The echo of his historical bark is much worse than his historical bite.

If we're leaning into Bill's conspiracy theory vibes, then let's really lean into them: and the truth is most conspiracy theories, like Bill Cipher himself, are full of bullshit. He's a gold-foiled nothingburger.

why ottojuli would literally be the most toxic julius ship of all time (arc 8)

ok but i was talking about this recently with @deafknell and @mynameisrobiniamadumbass (a lot of the points in this analysis are due to them and also they really fed my brainrot aldsjflsjdflj so big thanks to them HAH) but julius and otto genuinely would be extremely toxic together. as of arc 8, their uglier traits have come to light, and being in each other’s presence has helped reveal that. (this analysis is also kind of building off my Other arc 8 ottojuli-related analysis here)

** im gonna analyze ottojulis relationship in CANON mainly, but i also analyze the possibility of romantic-leaning julisuba and ottosuba—either way, julisuba and ottosuba, platonic or not, are extremely important to both julius and ottos characters and how they interact with each other as well 👍

to start off—their relationships to subaru are quite literally almost the same dynamic in Very Different fonts. theyre subaru’s two closest male friends around his age, they both debuted in arc 3, got off on the wrong foot with him (julius dueling subaru vs otto pushing subaru off the wagon), but went out of their way to save him (again, julius dueling subaru to prevent him fromt being killed by other knights, otto trying to go back for subaru after pushing him off the wagon in arc 3 + otto in arc 4), and as/once they develop a friendship with subaru, its a tsundere + tsundere relationship where both sides end up bickering and teasing each other to show affection. you could even read julisuba and ottosuba as paralleling relationships—otto is the one being teased + getting flustered most of the time by subaru who is the one being teased + getting flustered most of the time by julius. and subaru brings out different sides to otto and julius too—for julius, he’s learning to gradually let go of his repression and not be so “perfect”… for otto, he’s developed a fixation on subaru, and it brings out More of his uglier traits.

subaru is someone that both julius and otto care deeply about even when subarus actions Repeatedly frustrate and even anger them. but because they care about him, they Want to be more gentle with him in their own ways. julius stays honest and tries to break the news to subaru about louis Without compromising on his own beliefs because its the awful truth that subaru needs to know (on top of trying to aid the emilia camp in vollachia in general). otto on the other hand, hides things from subaru and maneuvers events from behind the scenes for subarus sake. otto didnt plan on telling subaru something along the lines of what julius just said about louis needing to be dead, which is why otto gets pissed when julius flat out just tells the truth—subaru still needed to hear this, sooner or later, bc if he really wants to find a way to keep louis alive, he needs to be aware of the reality of the situation. but otto didnt agree with julius saying this regardless, which is likely bc otto feels julius ruined his plans on how he was going to handle the louis situation and/or otto is mad that julius made subaru upset.

so when otto and julius face each other, they’re strangers. they only know the other person as a friend of a friend (subaru), a merchant vs a knight. but unlike julius, who’s a knight through and through and yet is close to and wholeheartedly supports a merchant, otto is a merchant who’s always had a distaste for knightly ideals, and so HE’S the one who emphasizes this distance between himself and julius. this is even more interesting when you remember that julius, again, is a knight loyal to a merchant, while otto is a merchant who is loyal to a knight (subaru), so theres an interesting dichotomy going on there. but otto cant let go of his own beliefs, so he proceeds to place the same expectations that julius continues being boxed into—julius being the finest knight.

its even more important to remember that because julius’s name was erased, julius absolutely is even more of a stranger to otto. otto couldnt accompany subaru and other emilia camp members to the tower, and otto expressed his disapproval of the decision for them to even go to the tower in the first place (because he doesnt want them heading into danger again). on top of that, julius—a complete stranger—was accompanying them into the tower. ricardo entrusted anastasia to julius—a stranger—which is a decision that otto with all his paranoia could never do. and then julius comes back waltzing into vollachia and otto becomes frustrated.

julius apologizes to otto for interrupting in emilia camp affairs regarding louis, and he thinks otto is upset because he stole ottos role in the situation as internal affairs minister. but otto is really upset because he wouldnt have told subaru what julius just told subaru then about louis, despite the fact that subaru needs to learn this information (that louis will be found guilty by the world and Needs to be punished for her crimes). and julius knows that subaru needs to know this, which is why he said it. and its this misunderstanding between otto and julius that lets otto know, for certain, that julius really is like emilia and subaru. and its this realization about julius—that he walks in the light with otto’s friends—makes otto angry and frustrated and bitter enough to try and punch the wall and break his hand again.

this is also because theres a possibility that otto is jealous of julius. this post is a rarepair analysis too HAH so you could Definitely read it as otto being jealous of julius as well. because ottos anger, frustration, and bitterness towards julius mirrors arc 3 subaru’s behavior towards julius. otto and subaru were both pissed at julius for interfering as an “outsider”, and i think that, like subaru in arc 3, otto is upset at the idea of being left behind in the dust by julius in regards to subaru and emilia. julius is someone who can walk in the light with emilia and subaru, which is something otto cant do, and julius is a strong combatant thats especially useful for vollachia, which is yet another thing otto cant do, and julius agrees with otto on killing louis despite also being idealistic like emilia and subaru, which is something otto cant do. julius can have both—be with emilia and subaru while acknowledging that louis needs to die—and it angers otto, who not only needs to be needed but also is questioning his worth here in vollachia. julius throws a wrench in all of ottos issues and worsens it tenfold, Especially when you remember how similar otto can be to subaru. otto and subaru are stubborn, especially when it comes to their goals and beliefs, prone to sacrificing for the people they care about most, prone to keeping secrets, need to be needed, and question their own worth.

and also the way they get flustered when teased is Similar. theres that too. (which is yet another ottosuba vs julisuba parallel.)

but subaru was jealous of julius, so what about otto? well—otto is someone who might be prone to getting jealous. in an otto’s diary episode of breaktime season two, this happens:

so basically whats happening here is that otto hears emilia gush about subaru and tell stories about subaru to frederica, and otto feels envious listening to this. you could interpret that any way you want, but i think that the implication is that in this moment, otto is envious of emilia and subaru being so close to each other. you could also interpret it as otto being envious of emilia because HE wants to be closer with subaru, which i think is also entirely plausible because in this exact same scene, he notes:

the whole point of ALL otto’s diary episodes in breaktime season two is that otto is writing in his diary about all his experiences in arc 4, many of which involve his developing relationship with subaru. and theres no denying that by the time we get to arc 8, otto is now at LEAST a little bit fixated on subaru (ill go more into this soon). ottos now aware of julius and julius’s close relationship with subaru after all theyve gone through in arc 5 and 6, and so now otto is in direct competition with julius. physically, in terms of the difference in their physical power, politically, in terms of julius being part of the anastasia camp, and emotionally—in terms of julius being so close to subaru and being exactly what otto wants. otto wants to be useful. otto wants to have the power to accomplish his goals. he wants to walk alongside emilia and subaru, but he cant while julius easily can.

another important thing is that the key difference between julius and otto is that julius’s “ugly” traits are Barely even bad, while otto’s are far Worse.

and this is further highlighted by the fact that julius’s development in arc 6 mirrors otto’s current arc in arc 8. julius got so stuck in his head that he kept trying to fight his own idol over and over again, hurting himself repeatedly in the process, trying to prove he was useful because he needed to be needed while no one around him really needed him in the way he wanted. the only person he couldve depended on was subaru—until subaru forgot him. of course julius undergoes some development and subarus memory comes back, but julius still cant rely on others. julius Still depended on, needed, and hes there to help in vollachia while, as i said earlier, otto is questioning why hes even here if he has no use. because julius and otto cant depend on others. theyre depended on by many other people (otto playing a key supporting role to his camp), so theyre not allowed to falter.

but otto is faltering, while julius has managed to pick himself back up again even after arc 6. youd think that out of most people, julius is someone who would be able to understand how otto feels—ottos desperation to prove that he has a reason to be here and his desperation to prove his usefulness—but, as ive mentioned earlier, ottos flaws are glaring now. julius’s flaws are different—the gluttonies mention iirc that he was a little mean to his brother at points, which quite frankly isnt that bad especially when you remember how joshua is as a person + julius is Quite Literally an extremely good person otherwise, and then theres the fact that julius wants louis dead, which. yeah thats completely understandable after what louis did to him and his brother. and he most certainly is far from the only one to want louis dead. julius still has good intentions at heart, and he doesnt mean anything regarding louis lightly. in the ex novels, he feels guilty about balleroy (another enemy that julius fought) dying and wishes it didnt have to turn out this way. this is even more poignant when you remember that balleroy happens to be one of the dead that comes back as a zombie in arc 8. its a physical manifestation of julius’s guilt, and knowing julius, he will/likely does feel at least a little guilty about louis given 1. subaru cares about her and 2. she acts exactly like a little kid now.

as for otto—while being a realist is understandable, hes actively withholding information. he kept the tome secret for a year with the intention of restoring it just so HE can read the information in it and then destroy it afterwards so no one else gets to it. he didnt want to tell subaru that louis will likely need to be dead anyway. he doesnt voice his own desire to kill louis. he doesnt reveal his dps ability to read intent. he doesnt reveal that bc of his dp he knows louis is Innocent now. and other than actively withholding information, he outright says / tries to do things like the following quote:

julius doesnt want to hurt anyone. julius wants to save as many as he can and his last resort is hurting people—such as wanting louis dead. but for otto—if its necessary, no matter how morally wrong it is, he’ll do it for subaru and the emilia camp’s sakes. otto is actively malicious AND manipulative.

which is why i think otto is fixated on subaru. otto has a lot of parallels with arc 3 rem—otto was the second person to die for subaru, and the second person to give subaru an important arc-defining speech to uplift him. otto, like rem, is willing to do anything for subaru. except ottos definition of anything doesnt just mean risking his life for subaru. it also means that ottos willing to sacrifice almost anything and anyone else for subaru. otto in arc 8 straight up thinks this:

“his reason for being was to keep saying that the point of compromise subaru had found was unacceptable”—otto places his reason for existence, his reason for being here in vollachia, his purpose, and the reason why hes Needed, on opposing subaru. on doing the dirty work for subaru.

its interesting, then, that both otto and julius’s fights against gluttony in arc 5 mirror each other. julius loses his name because he gives it in battle. otto figures out how erasing works and instructs everyone else not to say his name. julius is injured by gluttony in that his name is gone. ottos legs are injured by gluttony. and when otto fights ley and julius fights roy respectively, ley impersonates rem and roy impersonates joshua.

i mentioned the otto/rem parallels already, but its poignant that joshua was the one roy chose—not only bc its confirmation to us and julius that joshua got eaten, but also in that joshuas relationship to julius is complicated. joshua hates julius. joshua has this massive inferiority complex regarding julius, because julius can accomplish all these things that joshua wants to accomplish but he cant, and yet joshua keeps this hidden by gaslighting himself and everyone around him by playing up the adoring younger brother to an EXTREME. not that joshua doesnt admire his brother, because joshua does, just that its messily tangled with the envy and resentment—but joshua hides all his feelings behind the adoring younger brother act. to otto, ley appeared as rem—another lover to subaru (apart from emilia of course, along with the fact that otto himself Does love subaru) that otto doesnt know at all and yet parallels heavily. to julius, roy appears as joshua—the brother julius has now forgotten, the brother that resents julius and is jealous of julius in a similar way to julius being jealous of reinhard. julius does parallel joshua, in some way, and he doesnt even know.

and if ottos jealous of julius now, it mirrors joshuas jealousy regarding julius. if you put julius and otto together, theres the potential that julius will unknowingly “ruin” otto in the way that he “ruined” joshua, placing even more pressure on julius while otto and joshua stay in the background, in the shadows, and grow bitter of everyone shining in the light. and as for otto, ive mentioned all the things that julius has above otto already, but heres one more—

you could interpret julisuba as a healthier version of ottosuba.

as ive stated earlier, ottosuba and julisuba have Parallels. and of course, im not saying that julisuba are perfect people either, but the thing about ottosuba is that—like otto as a character—it seems innocent at first. with julisuba, its derogatory at first—subaru is the aggressor and the party in the wrong, while julius is forced to publically beat him and humiliate him in order to save his life. but julisuba later grow a very close bond (with…. quite a lot of homoeroticism HAH). meanwhile with ottosuba its a little Less rough. apart from otto pushing subaru off the wagon in arc 3 (which again, ended in otto dying while he was trying to save subaru bc he regretted what he did), ottosuba stays more in the background until otto takes more action in arc 4. and when we get to know ottosubas developing friendship in arc 4, we agree with otto. otto, who tells subaru that theyre friends, who goes out of his way to help subaru, who snaps some sense into subaru and makes a plan with him to tackle the obstacles in arc 4. but the thing is, we knew ottos flaws from the start. he does whatever necessary to accomplish his goals even if its morally wrong (pushing subaru out of the wagon in arc 3). otto gets mad at subaru for being reckless, grows violent with subaru as a result, and helps subaru in any way he can whether subaru wants it or not (arc 4). but in arc 4, ottosuba seems more like a nice friendship. its a breath of fresh air to see someone go out of their way for subaru like this. and im not saying that ottosuba isnt a great relationship, but by the time we get to arc 8, theyre codependent. otto needs to be needed. otto needs subaru to stay alive and out of more trouble, so otto decides to do whatever it takes to do that. otto gets mad at julius for trying to interfere in that, and otto also gets mad at roswaal and proceeds to assume—in his paranoia and anger—that roswaal only wants otto to be less difficult so its easier for roswaal to complete his own scheming. ottos protective of subaru to the point where you could interpret it as obsessive /possessive.

julius, on the other hand, is honest with subaru, as ive said, about what will likely happen with louis. julius is honest. sincere. he refuses to ever betray his loved ones, but he also refuses to lie to them and be their yes man—because its for their own good. otto is not. otto is willing to lie and play dirty even with his own loved ones if he thinks its for their own good. like joshua, otto hides his true feelings on certain things until it bubbles up to the surface—which is why he ends up punching walls out of anger and stewing in his frustration. julius has morals and ideals that he wouldnt want to cross. julius hates the idea of even hurting people. otto has next to zero reservations about this, if not none. once he deems it necessary, if theres something stopping him from doing it, it definitely wont be himself.

and—just a quick mention of ottos possible jealousy again + julisubas homoeroticism (that is, by the way, acknowledged by canon in the form of reid thinking theyre boyfriends), if you want to interpret ottosuba as romantic as well, you could easily interpret part of ottos anger towards julius being the result of him wanting to be the only man around subarus age whos close to subaru. julius is a direct competitor in that aspect too. because otto is genuinely happy for emisuba, especially when theyre both his friends, so while he did get jealous over them (which is canon, according to ottos diary), he doesnt have a problem with them. meanwhile, julius is a complete stranger to otto that got to accompany subaru to the tower—as the one other guy in the party too, by the way—while otto couldnt because he was injured by ley, who was impersonating rem, another one of subarus romantic interests. otto is already mad that subarus chosen vollachia and louis over ottos desire to just choose their self preservation. julius is salt in the wound because to otto, subaru leaving for the tower kinda looks like subaru chose julius over otto—and then julius came to vollachia and reunited with subaru, which is more salt in ottos wounds.

and if you want to make this more messy, ottos admiration and endearment to subaru can easily be paralleled to julius admiring reinhard. subaru and reinhard already parallel in general, but otto and julius were quite literally pining (platonic or otherwise) for subaru and reinhard before those two even recognized otto and julius as friends. make of that what you will.

so additionally—like how julius could “ruin” otto, otto could “ruin” julius. julius can beat otto in a physical fight without breaking a sweat. but unlike subaru, otto has no morals holding him back and hes absolutely capable of figuring out how to beat julius psychologically. otto also has no problem using julius if he really needed to. additionally, if you happened to put otto in a situation where he had julius’s life in his hands and he could get away scot-free with just killing julius—theres a good chance that otto could go ahead with it to remove julius as a threat + cripple anastasia substantially. and, like subaru, otto is capable of really Testing julius’s patience. if you forced them together for long enough with the way their characters are in arc 8, julius very well could snap. julius and otto are both characters whove been dealing with a bunch of shit and are growing tired of it, especially julius. otto may be more volatile in comparison, but julius of course is only human and will crack a bit under the pressure. because otto would place all these standards on him that julius is always cursed to have—ottos already done that in arc 8 by just referring to julius as a knight and therefore his enemy. and thats on top of otto and julius’s relationships to subaru making this Already Complicated.

and if subaru saw two of his closest friends fighting like this, all three of them would be Very Upset about it.

regardless, anastasia camp and emilia camp relations in general are fascinating because at this point, with ottos whole Thing against the ana camp, julius + his friendships to emilia and subaru, and garf and mimi, the two factions are closely connected now. julius and otto though? yeah theyre a powder keg of a rarepair bc i think theyd end up strangling each other wkndjdndjd. and what i mean is that as a rarepair, julius and otto and subaru are in the weirdest most fucked love triangle of all time right now HAH.

also in this scenario—when anastasia finds out about otto messing with julius, otto is not gonna be safe.

I wanted to share my thoughts on what the next focus events could be for arc enders, while also asking you what you think is going to happen if you haven’t already

L/n: I’m honestly at a loss as to what the next event has in store for us. I definitely think it’s an Ichika focus (though I’ve seen people speculate it’s Shiho), but I’m not sure what they could do. Maybe enter a recording label to increase their audience? (Haven’t read Get Over It. yet so maybe I’m missing a part of the puzzle)

VBS: most likely a Toya event, I want to see him get mad. Like full blown anger from him. He was absolutely livid in Light Up the Fire as seen from his card, so I just want him to absolutely go apeshit. Worst part is that he doesn’t have the best relationship with adult figures so the parallels with his father are there. Maybe they’ll also try to reunite with Kotaro etc? VBS has a lot on its plate after the truth bomb regarding Nagi, that’s for sure

WxS: I mean. I’m pretty sure we all know it’s indirectly confirmed to be a Rui event. And this one is most definitely addressing the disbanding of the unit. Since he’s the one most worried about it, I think it makes sense he started the arc with Farewell at the Curtain Call and now gets to end it with a conclusion that will affect the group one way or another

N25: also somewhat obvious we’re getting a Mafuyu event from the teaser, this one is surely going to address what’s on all of our minds: is she going to run away? Our Escape for Survival has definitely set me on edge so I can’t wait to see how the story plays out

Oh yeah I’ve been thinking so hard about the arc enders the past few weeks so here goes nothing

L/n: They actually got signed at the end of Get Over It. It was right at the end of chapter 8 though, so I reckon the event will be taking the first steps as pros, especially considering this was their main goal up until this point. Like how at the end of Re-tie Friendship MMJ decided to change course, and then STEP by STEP was about them actually leaving.

VBS: Toya definitely. You can work it out by MV distribution. I think this will be a getting the band back together sort of story, considering that all the side characters left in LUTF and BAD DOGS interact with the side characters more. In his last event, Toya became good friends with Souma, and considering how Taiga crushed Arata’s ambition using Souma, I wouldn’t be surprised if those two were in it a lot. I hope Kotaro gets a good resolution too after his breakdown in LUTF.

WxS: Okay I have actually spoken about this one but I’ll do it again because I’m very invested in the current WxS arc. I originally thought this would be an Emu event mainly because WxS really needs to shuffle their event order but considering we now know it will be an arc ender no way it’s not Rui. At the end of Canary in a Quagmire he says that he thinks he’s worked out a way for them to all pursue their dreams together, which. The fact that Tsukasa and Nene want to go abroad and Emu wants to stay home already kinda messes with that concept sorry Rui. WxS is very special to him because he’s never had close friends before and doesn’t want to lose it (he literally refers to it as his home in Island Panic) and I think this event will be a bittersweet slaps in the face of reality that they can’t just stay together forever. 👍 also I really want him to spill that Asahi invited him to join ArcLand (aw yeah conflict)

N25: The fucking puppet from her first event man. The puppet triggered Mafuyu in Captive Marionette because she saw herself in it - everything in her life was puppeteered by her mother. And the curtain closing? I’m not sure if she’ll actually run away, but I think she’s going to confront her mother herself. I think Mafuyu is finally more ready to confront that her mother is the problem and is controlling her every move and I want to see her at least try to break free of it.

I just need you to know that I normally have fun imagining dramatic "what ifs" for readers after I read fics, but I absolutely cannot do it for Lamp of the Body reader. They've been through so much, and they're in such an awful, vulnerable place. I never, ever want them to find out the truth about Chrollo, I want them to live in blissful ignorance (or as much ignorance can be afforded given the Kurta eyes seem to contain some kind of trace impulsive emotional memory) forever.

in other words:

I don't have any plans for a part three for that fic (I feel like it's good as just a two parter)

so I will say here and now that Lamp of the Body reader remains (largely) ignorant of all the fuckery Chrollo has done and will do in the future

So we know the domains are based on the character’s most vulnerable moments right

ayato and itto are both pretty well adjusted and have both come to terms with their past so they see their struggles as something they’re proud of having overcome. i’m going to throw diluc in this category as well based on his recent event; when you finish his domain he takes it in an “it is what it is” kind of way

I really want ayato’s domain to mirror kazuha’s. personally I think it’s very poetic, two noble houses that fell from grace together; and while one further descends, the other rises to the top

I think thoma still has some unresolved trauma he tries to hide like his survivor’s guilt or how he never found his dad so he’d be hesitant

making xiao go through his most vulnerable moments right after perilous trail??? plssss give this man a break 😭

kaeya would love going into other people’s domains but his own? it’s a naur from him. his domain would be the prettiest though bc omg khaenri’ah reveal?

childe would like play it off like it’s no big deal “aw are you worried about me” and then it’s the most traumatic thing you’ve ever witnessed (just abyss things <3)

good luck to zhongli if he’s with people who don’t know he’s a literal god 😃👍

on a more serious note though any of the archon mirages would be insane. so much loss. zhongli’s mellowed out quite a bit so he’d be hesitant to show others all the violence and loss he’s endured

also the way each mirage is super personal but you have to go through it with a group of people LOL zero boundaries, we’re jumping right to lvl 10 friendship

pls diluc is a known menace to the fatui. this man is banned from snezhnaya. how would he react? it’s on sight, time for retri-

Jeez, it took me almost an entire day to collect my thoughts about SftS, but after reading your asks and taking time to think about it all I have to say is wow.

I just want to preface that Oikawa was never a character I found attractive WHATSOEVER until I started reading your works. Even though you made him so disgusting?? in this I can’t help but still love him because of how well you write his obsession with the reader.

Also i have no idea why but it’s just so funny to me the way he’s like offended when readers dad asked if he killed her…as if he didn’t murder the rest of her family in cold blood.

Which leads me to talking about how that last scene was written from his POV and the way he was thinking about stuff?? He’s so despicable. Murdering a child *with mercy!! Such a great guy 😁👍 Although he did NOT hesitate to justify the readers stepmothers death. Reader never wanted her dead but he used her dislike towards her as fuel to take out his violent tendencies.

Besides reader, I also feel so bad for her father. You could tell he was holding everything back after hearing about his wife and son. The fact he was blindsided by Oikawa in the end too. He didn’t even have to time to think about how reader was going to be tricked and comforted by the man who hurt her the most 😞 anyways r.i.p.

I wanted to ask does Oikawa love reader in any way? Because you said that he wants to challenge himself by playing with her. So I know he doesn’t care if he hurts he, I mean he murdered her family and staged a traumatic event 🤷‍♀️ but I can’t tell if he’s one of those yanderes who’s just sick for no reason or sick because he lives the reader.

I also wanted to ask if he is one of those sick yanderes, would he reach a point where he gets bored and just outright tells reader that he murdered her family just to stir shit up?

Anyhow, RHI, i just wanted to tell you that it was absolutely phenomenal and it left me in shock. I saw none of that coming.

But oh, Oikawa’s wholly and utterly enamoured with the reader. That doesn’t stop him from being a selfish, amoral asshole – if anything it enables those behaviours. He justified what he did to her step-mom, even to an extent what he did to her brother, all out of love of the reader.

He’ll justify a hell of a lot worse than murder if it comes down to keeping her safe and within reach.

Now I don’t think he’d outright admit to killing her family – not unless she asked him directly. He enjoys the domesticity, the willingness of it all too much to give it up so easily. The casual affection and the dependence/trust she has in him. The trauma bond of going through something awful like that and only having Oikawa at the end of it.

I think if it never came out, and they lived the rest of the lives laying low, oikawa taking jobs from shitty (well paying) people to do bad things and then returning home to his sweet little wifey, Oikawa would die a happy man.

But he’s not opposed to the truth coming out, either. He’ll love her if she’s oblivious, and he’ll love her if she hates him. She’s not going anywhere either way.

Honestly I hate season 3 as a whole. But Syd is one of the worst parts of S3. I liked her as a complicated person and kind of a mess in S2. In S3 she was just an awful, judgmental bitch. Once Farouk brainwashed her and the show decided that Farouk’s lies were Syd’s truth there was pretty much nothing left to save.

Gill knew the Canyon Biome like the back of his hand. He spent most of his free time out here, after all. He could run his hand along the horizon, up and down the cliffs and ravines, imagining the tunnels burrowing down through the granite and twisting around roots. If he could, he’d spend all his time exploring this area.

He breathed in the finely crafted breeze scented with pine needles and sap, staring out over the bridge in front of him. The wooden planks were still wet and slick from the morning’s rainfall, and the cables creaked as the wind rocked them back and forth. The chasm below was teeming with wild Pokémon dancing along the gravel shore and enjoying the sunny sky. You’d hardly believe this place was all artificial. Except for the gridlines in the sky and the platforms in the distance, of course.

Gill smiled and patted Spice’s back. The Flygon chirruped in reply with a grin, leaning into his touch. On Gill’s shoulder, Sizzle perked up and leaned forward with her jaw agape. Gill gave her a little pat on the head, too.

“…Why don’t we call it quits?”

“Hm?” Gill looked over at her sister, arms crossed and scowling. She scoffed and pulled her hair back.

“I’m saying, can’t we just have a picnic here?” Susanne swept out her arms to gesture to the landing around them.

“There’s barely any room, though,” Gill pointed out. “And packed dirt isn’t very comfortable to sit on.”

“But we have chairs.”

“Not for all our Pokémon.”

Susanne shook her head and sighed. “Alright, fair point. So why don’t we just call a taxi?”

“Do you just…not want to cross the bridge?” Gill frowned. “Susanne, it’s secure. It’s not going to break on you.”

“Yeah, but look at it! It’s slippery!” Susanne glared at him. “I don’t want to slip and fall. Not everyone's as reckless as you, you know!”

“I'm not reckless. That’s why I have Spice out!” Gill rubbed Spice’s head. “He can catch me if I trip.”

“…Tch. Well- he better catch me, too!” Susanne growled, but stalked off towards the bridge regardless.

The four of them meandered along, Spice hovering overhead to make sure none of them slipped. Sizzle dug her claws into Gill’s shoulder, making her wince just a bit. She wouldn’t say anything, though. Sizzle was probably just scared.

Speaking of. Despite being supposedly terrified just a moment before, Susanne had no problem picking up conversation.

“You never told me where you got a Salandit, by the way,” she piped up.

“Hm? I thought I did!” Gill replied. “I got her from someone on that site.”

“Yeah, I don’t buy that. Especially since you said she’s from…”

“An alternate dimension?”

“Yeah, that. No way that’s the truth.”

“I beg to differ,” Gill hummed. Sizzle made a noise that almost sounded like a laugh.

“Mhm. Sure. Did you travel back to Paldea to get her or something? Without me?”

“I haven’t left the campus since the start of the school year. I thought you knew that?”

“Tch…fine! Keep your secrets.”

“I’m not keeping anything from you, Susanne.”

“As if.”

Gill sighed and walked on. Sizzle dug her claws in deeper.

“Why’d you want to hang out with me, anyway?”

A little blunt, but it got the point across.

They had eventually gotten a picnic table set up in a small clearing (after braving some more steep inclines and blocky platforms, much to Susanne’s dismay). Their Pokémon were milling around, playing with toys and exploring their surroundings, while Gill and Susanne opted to stay by the table and prepare sandwiches. Susanne’s Whimsicott and Pepper eagerly leaned over their shoulders while they pulled out all their ingredients.

Susanne looked up from her half-finished sandwich, scowling. “What?” she snapped. “Am I not allowed to hang out with my brother?”

“Y-You are! It’s just…you don’t do it often.” Gill tugged at her jacket’s collar.

“Uh, yeah. I know that. That’s why I’m doing it now.” Susanne replied. “I don’t have an ulterior motive, Gillian.”

“Mm.” Gill doubted that. Susanne Monet wasn’t the type of person to do something that didn’t benefit her.

“Seriously, I’m not lying. I just wanted to check up on you.”

…Hm.

And how, exactly, did that benefit her?

Gill bit his lip and went back to sandwich making. Something to chew on, he guessed. Pepper snickered and tugged at the tablecloth.

“Why? ‘m doing fine.” He grabbed the bag of whipped cream and squeezed some onto his bread. “Just, uh, doing schoolwork…haha…”

“You’re still interested in the BB League, right? Made any progress on that?” Susanne propped her elbows up on the table.

“Nope. Not really…”

Gill neglected to mention that he did visit the clubroom last week. He poked his head inside and looked around. Ran away as soon as he spotted the Elite Four, but. Better than most attempts.

“Hm. What about just training in general?” Susanne looked Gill in the eye. “You’ve been keeping up with that?”

Oh. So that’s what this is. She’s just checking to see if Gill got any stronger. Probably hoping to challenge him to a match later. Well, she was about to be sorely disappointed.

“No…I’ve been really busy. With…uh, other classes. And stuff.” Gill rubbed her neck. “Um.”

“Oh.” Susanne clicked her tongue. She leaned back, stopping to stroke her Whimsicott’s head. “Hmph.”

Gill sighed and reached for the strawberries.

They spent a few minutes in silence as Gill arranged the fruit in neat rows. He gave a couple to Sugar when she meandered over.

“I don’t know why you bother with that club,” Susanne declared suddenly. “It’s not like it’s a real league or anything.”

“It looks good on resumes,” Gill offered. Susanne rolled her eyes.

“Yeah, and you know what else looks good? Good grades. You don’t need to join that play-pretend club just to boost your GPA. Yours is fine already.”

Gill ignored that last part. “It’s not just a ‘play-pretend’ thing. A lot of people there are plenty strong.” Like the Elite Four.

“Yeah, but everyone there who’s barely a challenge still uses Mono type teams like wannabe Gym Leaders. One Flip Turn from Palafin, and that’s it for that fire boy’s team.”

I don’t know if that’s the case. But Gill didn’t want to argue semantics with her, so she just shrugged.

“And that Kieran kid? Arc, don’t even get me started on him,” Susanne fed a bit of lettuce to Whimsicott, who eagerly gobbled it up. “The guy just typed in ‘best Pokémon to use in doubles’ in Sligoogle and took the first six that showed up. I bet I could take him, no problem.”

Gill didn’t know whether to chalk this up to Susanne’s ego talking, or if he actually believed she had a chance against the Champion.

“Why don’t you try?” he asked, putting the finishing touches on his sweet sandwich. He cursed as he knocked the plastic knife off the table.

“Because,” Susanne said as Gill bent down, “I don’t want to deal with all that! I’d either have to sign up for the Club or ‘formally request a match’-“ that bit was said with air-quotes, “-and it would take too long! Besides, I don’t need to fight him to know I could beat him.”

…Sounds to me you’re scared of losing, she remarked internally.

Gill stood back up, dusting off her pants. “Sounds like you have some opinions,” she remarked aloud instead.

“Sure. But if you want to join them, I won’t stop you,” Susanne said. “If that’s what you wanna do.”

Gill shrugged and took a bite of his sandwich.

Sweet.

...A little too sweet, if he was being honest.

Maybe cut back on the strawberries.

“Oh. Before I forget.”

They were in one of Blueberry's numerous, plain white hallways, painfully bland and empty. Gill looked over his shoulder.

Susanne reached into her bag, rummaging through it and cursing, before pulling out something wrapped in crumpled tissue paper.

“Here.” She held out the lump. “For you.”

“Er…” Gill gulped, delicately taking the thing and cradling it in his hands. “…What is it?”

“A gift! Saw it at the school store. Thought you’d like it,” Susanne replied with a grin. “Go on, unwrap it!”

Gill did so. She gently peeled back the tissue layer by layer, eventually revealing a pair of red-tinted goggles with green accents.

They were too small for her…and Susanne wasn’t the kind to give out accessories…so…

“…Safety Goggles?” he stammered.

“Uh, yeah.” Susanne nodded like it was the most obvious thing in the world. “Aren’t you messing around with Flygon using Sandstorm? Well, give those to your Alcremie! It won’t take chip damage now.”

“Oh. You’re. You’re right.” Gill held the goggles up to the light. “Thanks. I’ll use them for sure.”

Sugar’s holding an Air Balloon right now, but…I can make it work. Probably. Not like that Earthquake strategy is working out, anyway…

“Glad you like it!” Susanne laughed. She clapped a hand on Gill’s shoulder. “Now, I gotta go. Thanks for the picnic. See you in Tera Strats tomorrow!”

She waved, not looking behind her, and rounded a corner.

Gill was alone yet again.

…

He looked down at his gift.

Everything’s about battling with her. Down to the gifts she gives.

Gill sighed.

Of course.

Humming to himself, Gill spun the goggles around his finger and kept on walking.
