I think the reason I appreciate Mike and Will so much is because to me they exemplify what love is actually about in real life. That foundation of being best friends before anything else, of understanding each other so intuitively that a few simple words can contain eons of meaning. The beauty of being so comfortable opening up that all they have to do is sit quietly beside you and your most difficult feelings pour out unguarded, because it’s them: your person, your other half. That emotional bond that feels as easy and natural as breathing. I could care less about dramatic but ultimately empty words or big “romantic” gestures. To me it’s who’s gonna be there in the thick of life, to lend an ear or a shoulder to cry on or a simple smile that simultaneously gives you butterflies and the strength to push through. But also someone who will challenge you and in doing so make you want to be better, and who inspires you to live as your authentic self. Like that’s the kind of dynamic that resonates with my concept of love, and I think it’s the ultimate destination for their relationship (they’re still learning and growing etc. but the building blocks are there, and this has always been their dynamic at it’s core which is why I love them so much).

There is a genre of CR ships that can be categorized as “I exclusively enjoy it in the context of it being unrequited/one-sided or a fleeting experience that doesn’t stick”

It’s the way I’m DESPERATELY trying to play FFVII with an openness to Cloud and Aerith because I know it means so much to so many people—and yet even when I go to YouTube and watch alt versions of mandatory scenes I cannot fathom how people are missing the subtext of “Aerith knows and acknowledges Tifa is so much more than Cloud’s friend even as she wants his attention because she doesn’t know if he’s really himself, has been extremely lonely since Zack left + knows somewhere she’s going to die for herself” ☠️

Like I am 3000% for FF ships that have a lot of groundwork but aren’t primary canon, because Square is notorious for building true chemistry between people who are not ever canonically romantic (hello Phoenixflare) but…it’s getting kind of absurd to see how many people are denying the subtext of Aerith as secondary to Tifa solely because they love their ship.

Perfect example: the scene where Aerith goes up on the Nebelheim water tower (a place wholly and entirely tied to Cloud and Tifa’s ongoing relatonship) and asks Cloud about his town…only for us to get this:

As someone who just consumes media generally…the whole subtext of the scene is clearly that Aerith trying to 1) pull Cloud’s actual memories up from the mind muck he’s going through (something she and Tifa both do repeatedly) and 2) remind Cloud of the side of him that inherently has always had a whole ass crush on his childhood best friend to help jog his memory.

Sure, it reads as a cute moment between them if you want that…but if you’re paying attention to the purpose of the scene itself and what’s being said (verbally and subtextually)…it’s astronomically clear this is a Cloud x Tifa recognition delivered to the audience through a Cloud/Aerith moment…and this happens repeatedly ☠️

And then…immediately after having her be upset that she doesn’t have someone the way Cloud has Tifa, and asking to be alone? I…I just. Like it’s so hard to be here in the middle of a war about “optional scenes” when shit that happens to everyone happens just like this 😭

Red vs Blue is over so yes I will say goodbye, I will say goodbye to this show that has affected me possibly more than any other story ever has…

but I will not say goodbye to the reds and blues. Because they will always be a part of me, no matter what happens I can always go back to these characters that changed me. I can rewatch those 13 seasons that I love so much. I can rewatch after that and bitch and complain about them while also enjoying the parts I do like.

But more importantly there will always be more reds and blues- always more fanfics to read and create, more fanart to draw and enjoy, more headcanons to share, more people to drag into this fandom because I WILL continue to recommend and share this show with others.

So goodbye Red vs. Blue

“Burning Bright” costume/character rough (very rough) design ideas for Sunfire & Wolverine, because I didn’t have much in the way of ideas for them (outside of “okay but it’d be fun if Wolverine showed a lot of skin? and okay I guess here’s some less tits-out ideas” and “I’m just… not going with an imperial flag motif for Sunfire this version has been with the X-Men since he was a teenager it doesn’t make sense for him anyway”) and decided to get their roughs out of the way first (next up for roughs: Rogue & Storm)

Divinity original sin 2 is so funny because the game takes place in a whimsical fantasy setting where the character models have this action figure like quality to them and limited dialogue animations due to the top down perspective and the narrator describes the most horrific shit happening and the characters just stand there due to said animation

everyday I sit down and write approximately 50 words of my burrich/chivalry fic so y’all may see the next chapter sometime within approximately the next ten years

Honestly, I’m just so excited we are getting a Hazbin Hotel tv series

Could it have flaws, yes

Could it have bad writing, yes

Could the story not go like we wanted it to and we’re going to be gravely disappointed, yes

But I have a feeling I’m still going to love it anyways, even if it turns into a guilty pleasure 😁
