hi guys! im back. i went tokyo for a few days. got back at 7 this morning after taking an overnight 7 hour bus ride.... that i did not sleep on bc i cant sleep in moving vehicles. this will be something closer to a proper blog post i guess. splatoon related convention? experience below

i've kept my mouth shut about my plans to go because its not as well known on the english side of the fanbase and i didnt wanna make people too jealous sorry LOL , but i went to splaket 22! it's an unofficial, splatoon-only doujinshi market/artists alley. this was my first convention-sort-of event ive been to since i was... in high school. i also dont really get to meet many other hardcore splatoon fans irl. i was nervous about it because i don't know a whole lot of people on the JP side nor do i have a lot of confidence in my japanese speaking/listening, but in the end it was SUPER fun. i wish i couldve talked a bit more to the artists i did encounter to comment on what i liked about their works but. Skill Issue very few non-japanese people at this event of course but one of the only english speakers i saw i called out to bc they were wearing a shirt with this exact image printed on it no video and no photos outside of designated areas were allowed so i got like. zero pics of my own. but there was a lot of cosplayers i saw! oh and here's the Loot Haul. a few doujin, a clear file, stickers, microfiber cloth and a keychain. im surprised at how little i got, i think i shouldve gone a bit crazier with it

the one with Tao Blu and oonie in the top left (by sachikazerick) I came across by chance and bought because it was cute, featured splatband characters, and also because it all in some familiar inkling language (the last point of which i told the artist as i was buying) when i finally got home and saw the back credits...

SMALL FUCKIN WORLD LOL (i tweeted at the artist afterwards to let him know i came by the table and to thank him for using me and my friend's inkling language fonts!) though truly, i think ardnin deserved the credit more rather than me since he made most of those fonts! ah well, still cool to see more and more fan works using deciphered inkling language. top middle book is a story with some salmonid characters that i havent read yet but im looking forward to it, the art is lovely. top right one was the first thing i bought. the artist is rk_splaworks, whose art i love, and we've been mutuals for a few years and have talked a bit here and there! i was so fucking nervous to meet them in person since my japanese sucks LMAO but they were happy to meet me too and we got a selfie together yippy <3 also havent read their doujin Yet since ill have to rub all my brain cells together and huddle over the dictionary, but i want their oc lore

touched on this in my top ten list, but i wanted to expand on it separately because i've been thinking about morgan and the seer obscura a lot lately 💭

so. "time is a song." morgan kinda blew up after its release, i feel like, and it's with good reason; the atmosphere of that audio is calm and sleepy but also, like… to me there's this longing for connection throughout the whole thing, ykwim?

like. we already know that the seer obscura is sort of at odds with their powers, given how they waited so long to go to the department, how they suppress their sight, and how they go radio silent after their first meeting with morgan. the seer obscura is clearly uncertain about all of this - morgan even calls them standoffish in "consulting with a seer." but they keep going back to him. being the only two known seer obscuras is naturally going to pull them together; the seer obscura is struggling to live with their unique type of sight after the inversion, and morgan is the only one who understands what they're going through.

(and he's gotta kinda pry them open because the seer obscura is notably a reserved person, but he's very gentle about it, he's understanding and patient and does his best to explain their shared sight even though he's never had to before because a) normal seers don't wanna hear it and b) he never thought there would be another seer obscura in his lifetime (much less one his own age) to talk to about it. and then giving them his own personal view of time when the typical water allegory doesn't work is just further building that connection between them.)

anyway, given the end of "learning about your magical abilities" and the fact that there's a year between its release and "time is a song," i'm sure they've gotten together at least a handful of times to work on the seer obscura's control. morgan to this point has consistently been open about wanting to help any way he can, but you can still kinda tell in "time with a song" that they aren't exactly friends yet, and that's why this one really gets me.

the setting for "time is a song" is so intimate - it's his home, in the middle of the night, with not a lot of time to make things presentable before someone he hardly knows outside of work comes over. the seer obscura needed help and comfort and even when they tried to backtrack out of asking for that, morgan invites them over anyway. he says he specifically focused on tidying up the apartment rather than himself, which means he’s looking like he just out rolled out of bed because he literally did. and that's just such a vulnerable thing to me, and it allows the rest of the audio to settle into this quiet, comfortable space that the seer obscura needs.

"when i said you can call anytime, i meant that." "another seer obscura like me[.]" "then there's you and me." "but you've got me. i'm here." "i want to know you." "it takes two to tango; you asked, and i said 'let's dance.'" like it's all just. i feel like i'm going to cry right now just thinking about this LMAO the seer obscura feels so lonely to me and morgan is constantly reassuring them that they aren't alone in this anymore, and i think that means a great deal to them.

to me this entire audio is thick with tension, but it really ramps up when they move out onto the balcony and morgan starts listing things he likes, because it's a shift from obscura lore dump to a personal heart-to-heart. he opened up his home to them and now he's opening himself up too. he gets a little silly! and then he drops the "i want to know you. you won't know that unless i tell you, so i'm telling you. [...] we can just be people with one another, too." and it is genuinely one of the most insane things i've heard in the entirety of the redactedverse. the period of silence after his laughter trails off where you can feel him gearing up to say something, the sincerity with which he says it, the relaxed atmosphere, the mental image of the only two seer obscuras on earth standing together on a balcony in the early morning hours...

(there's more to be said wrt the seer obscura backpedaling in the beginning and later apologizing for "wasting" morgan's time after he's already told them he wants to get to know them, but this post is long enough without me theorizing about that. i'm really interested to see if it gets touched on again; i'd like to know more about them.)

um. anyway. i'm driven insane by the audio every single time. all of the insane lore gained from all three audios so far aside (<- refusing to think about how morgan brought having your threads cut into the prime timeline instead of leaving it in cataclysm), the relationship these two have already is just captivating. the end

you don't know why Crowley had assigned you to work as a bartender on this dingy old place, his old brain just happen to pop an idea when he asked you to serve him a cool liquor, well what you just did was to add a rotting lemon and sugar to his beverage and the next thing you know he made you a bartender.

jeez that training of making drinks took a toll on you for a whole year but good thing you have memorized the basics of bartending and owning the bar

of course what Crewel thought you about chemicals that deals with cleaning blood also have a big help in other kind of stains in case some spilled liquid gets on the floor

and a 7 hour shift from 4 of afternoon to night? what a way to keep you busy in a lot of hours and distracted from doing work you are not supposed to do yet.

you can do whatever you want with the bar as Crowley said (whatever will you do with a bar? be a bartender of course)

but he had only one tiny favor to ask of you and you have promised to kept, a strict contract of condition

bored enough, you walked over to the cleaning supplies closet and took out the mop and started mopping the floor till it shines

if the outside appearance isn't appealing enough for them, you hope that the inside would be decent enough to walk in, even if they only order water you would be satisfied enough with that, it'll be quite of an awkward experience if you didn't have any clientele in your first day

the sound of the bell finally have rang, a feeling of relief washes over you, finally some customers, that whole training a hope that these customers would be normal regula--

a hooligan looking gingerhaired boy, His eyes are bright scarlet in color, and over his left eye is a red marking shaped like a heart entered your bar. behind him was a young man with navy dark blue color, his right eye is a black marking shaped like a spade symbol.

you recognize those symbols, Heartslabyul. one of the most dangerous gangs that roams this area, famous for their leader and his obscene rules, also recognizable by the card markings on near their eyes

these guys looked like they are members of it but they don't seem like they want to cause trouble

"ah, you closin' already?"

well a delinquent patron is better than no patrons

you shake your head and you let them in by leading them to the stools near your counter, your eyes irked with the dirt of their shoes tainting your wiped clean floorboard but yet you still put away your cleaning stuff and attended the two young men

now that you think of it, they look pretty young to be drinking so then you ask about their age, the ginger guy simply scoffed and the other sweated nervously

"Well, does that even matter? come on just give us some few drinks me and Deuce will still pay you know. we aren't that much of a bad guys who picks fight with people for now reason." he had a toothy grin while saying that

the "Deuce" guy over here started nudging his elbow to the walking insultant "hey Ace, stop being rude to them umm.. we are both underage so anything with no alcohol would be fine--" he was not done speaking when Ace suddenly graspes his hand to his mouth

"Are you serious!? we're in a bar, place for adult drinks they don't have something like that, thank you for revealing our age stupid-deuce now we won't get any drink at all"

"well what do you want me to do? lie!? the leader said lying about that is against one of the rules--"

"yeah, yeah, whatever. as if you even know what number of rule is it"

they continued to whisper argue with each other infront of you as you prepared two tall glass infront of them, whisking out the juice bottle while they are still on their bantering.

they stopped bickering and turned to your and your moving hands, your skills were honed by the past year so it won't be surprising if they would find what you're doing was amazing

you serve them a mocktail, you tell them its like a cocktail but with no alcohol included and it just taste like the real thing

"Man... so it's like beer for kids? don't tell me it also tastes like soda" Ace grumbled, your eyes followed his arm that reached for the tall glass

"Ace...!!" Deuce nudged him again with his elbow and a offended look towards his comrade

"Relax I'm joking, well don't mind if i dig in!!" Ace's grinned and by then sipped on the glass with the multi colored mocktail

his eye sparkled the moment his tongue got layed upon the drink, coloring it with mixing colors of red and white

what the hell!?

this is amazing, it's better han the cherry soda he used to buy from that cheapstake vending machines he kick to get counterfelt coins even making some cans rattle out of the machine, he figured the sodas are expired yet he needs to parch the thirst sometimes

"Heh, this is pretty nice try yours Deuce trust me its bomb" Ace continued sipping on the drink while Deuce looked at his own glass hesitantly

"you're sure this doesn't have alcohol....right? my mom would be mad if i drank alcohol" You nod with Deuce's question, you giggle a with the image of a 6 year old child drinking soda for the first time and worrying about his mom finding out about it

it hit Deuce like a sugar rush, his reaction was more immediate than Ace's, the delicious drink felt like it just washed over his soring muscles after a long fight

Ace grinned at his friend "You look so dumb with that awe-strucked face" he teased while Deuce just gave him a constant ignorance

after finishing up they released a satisfied sigh, that went well and your skill paid off indeed now that old crow would stop nagging about you to keep practicing so you could hide your identity better

"hm, you don't seem to be around here are you new?" Ace had his arm on your counter giving you a off look with you bar turned to them both while washing their glasses

"so, where are you from? why would a bartender like you open a bar in this kind of zone?" you turn to them with the same straightface you had when they came in

"Ace is right, this place isn't something shops, cafes or even bars mostly open at, do you have any purpose here?"

ah... these fools are trying to lure you out, how curious they are truly. you don't seem to have any more customers coming to the bar so why not entertain them a bit?

You shake your head refusing to speak about the matter, distracting them with the shaking of your cobbler shaker making another drink for the two

"this one's on the house since it's the first day of opening my bar" you smile as you give them a free drink

plus, you bet you could make them spill out information about the existing clans and gangs around the seven sages city

"what!? you didn't know who the great seven are!?" Ace yelled from shock slamming both of his palm on the counter. of course you do, you just need to pretend you don't to hide yourself properly.

"I'm surprised... they technically rule this area so i wonder why you haven't heard of them" Deuce profusely looked at you,

"oh, you must be the newcomer on the town no wonder you haven't heard of them, well let us tell you what--" Ace stood up from his seat oh here it comes, the confirmation you needed coming from his own mouth

"We work for the Heartslabyul, one of the great seven gangs who was ruled by the Queen of Hearts!" Ace proudly announce as you look at him with calculating eyes, so your suspicions are true these two came from that obscure rules gang

"Ace Trappola of Heartslabyul pleasure to meet ya dear bartender~" He turned to Deuce with flashy smile

"Oh uh, Deuce Spade of Hearstlabyul pleasure to make your acquaintances." Deuce spoke nervously to you but still beaming out a bright smile

Ace looked around and observed the place, your eyes followed the movement of his head "you know... this place is a bit dingy but it's pretty nice and the drink is totes good!! it's worth it for the price" Ace laughed then continuing to drink the free mocktail you gave earlier

"and you, you're not half bad yourself, you're pretty worth the visit" Ace licked his the remaining liquid on his lips and giving you a flirtatious smirk plastered on his mouth

Deuce didn't heard what Ace whispered with the glugging of his own drink but you did, you decided to ignore it, you're pretty sure this flirting thing will happen mostly since you're a bartender and some patrons are just down bad for the servers

"haah that was a satisfying drink, thank you dear bartender" Deuce polished off the glass clean with his lips and let out a satisfied hum

after a few minutes of relaxation from the both and the running water on the sink with your washing they've finally agreed to leave, they left the exact money from the costing tab on the counter, and oh a little tip (20 madols)

Ace walked out of the door making the bells jingle first and Deuce following him but Deuce stopped on his steps and turned to you

"i look forward in seeing you tomorrow, I'll definitely come back" Deuce mumbled as he followed Ace outside.

those two are entertaining enough for you, today and only today you would them as a lucky charm but maybe this two delinquents are the sign you won't have normal customers at all

btw I'm kind of uncomfortable aging up characters like Ace and Deuce so they would be legal with drinking so i just changed the cocktails to mocktails!! google says its just like cocktail itself but it contains no alcohol so i think it'll be okay with them. okay thats all bye!!!

this may become a sort of rant but i realised after reading your post about qcellbit that I kinda wish purgatory wasn't canon to the events of the qsmp ... like I thought purgatory would be The Event that brings everyone's individual lore together by forcing them to work together to save the eggs while also making them confront each characters association with the federation... which is why its called purgatory.

but the purgatory we got was lowkey minecraft punishment for 2 weeks. It was fun to watch! I just wish none of it was canon/had anything to do with the disappearance of the eggs

who are the eye workers? hows this relevant to everything we previously knew about the island? i wanna know if the eggs are real and alive outside the island but instead we got egg attacks with these eye fuckers which was happening with the codes anyway. sooo many unanswered questions and purgatory brought even more confusion

you are preaching to the choir nonnie lmao i don't want to be overly negative on here so ive tried to keep my complaining to a minimum but narratively i hated purgatory and yes it felt like two weeks of pure punishment. there were little to no rp opportunities, the lack of player agency was exhausting, and it felt like they were playtesting an event on server members rather than creating an event that would work for lore and be a fun event itself. two weeks was far too long, what does this have to do with the regular island, why did it have to interrupt so many people's lore, why the actual hell did cucurucho save the eggs and not the players (this one ill give some grace to bc so many people were on break and frankly i just needed the eggs back period. but it is one of the most disappointing story choices for me). i liked people getting to play together in new ways, but i wish it hadn't been so long and had been a non-canonical event in the first place. similar to the eggs going missing, i think the rp that has come out of it has been brilliant, but i think it did not need to happen this way.

for a while now it feels like players are no longer the main characters and in an attempt to make overarching lore make more sense and be more cohesive, there's been too much focus on federation npcs and the eye and cucurevil-- there's too many parties at play, and none of them should be the actual focus of the story. this is livestreamed roleplay. the server members should be the main characters. it is less entertaining and less meaningful narratively otherwise. i wish players had more agency again and there were more small, character focused bits of lore going on that weren't so focused on making sure everything is interconnected. i DO have faith that this could be the case again, i there's just been a rough patch for a bit that hopefully gets better.

also listen i do not call myself a cellbit main for a reason i watch a lot of different people and i think that's a better way to go at this type of medium. however, i think im allowed to acknowledge that for my preferred POV, which is cellbit, this has been torture. ive been avoiding talking about it because it felt like idk selfish or whatever or like I'm whining on his behalf which i don't need to do, but i think it's fair to be upset by how much this has fucked his lore because as a viewer it's been disappointing as hell (and not just for him but for other RP & investigation focused people). they helped him plan out the whole murder spree arc that was going somewhere before purgatory and then interrupted it entirely, they took away his best friend who he, atp, spends most of his time either building or investigating with and doesn't really want to play without, they did not provide any clues for finding the eggs nor any kind of investigation (until the minimes which. i don't need to tell you how that went but i can assure you it was the most negative cellbit has ever been about the server and he was still very polite about it).

i know he talked about the server moving from investigation centered storytelling to more pvp/conflict-centered storytelling, but, frankly, i don't think that's working out, especially not for him. and considering the break he's been on in part due to fatigue from purgatory i think this whole period of time has just not worked for what he wants to do with his character. i have faith he'll make it work, and i think the admin team is really good at addressing players' needs (especially cellbit who will just tell them all the stuff he wants), so i have faith in them as well. it's just frustrating considering how much it has sucked to be a qcellbit viewer for the last. idk two months if im being generous four if im not. it's hard bc im not a person who deals in idealism so i don't want to be like "i wish it all had never happened from this exact point" and i do like some of things that have come from rp post-eggs disappearing and even during and post-purgatory. so idk where im going with this anymore anyway i think there are ways to go about fixing this and making the narrative less clunky and focused on players again and allow for individual lore again, i just wish that that had remained the case continuously. sorry for the rant ill try to tag this appropriately

What are your thoughts on Ganondorf in TotK?

I'm gonna be honest, TotK stresses me tf out when it comes to the lore and Ganondorf himself as well. As someone who tends to read the lore a lot more and a lot deeper than normal fans of the series do, I have a lot to say lmao

TL;DR: phenomenal design, character writing is not as shitty but still shitty

I don't wanna take up y'all's entire dashboards so feel free to keep reading if you wanna hear me ramble

So first off, I do genuinely love Ganondorf's new design. Honestly, I just love the fact that he's back at all. We haven't seen Ganondorf in a mainline game since 2007, with the Wii release of Twilight Princess. Honestly, the only complaint I have about TP Ganondorf is the hairstyle, like what was bro thinking. Otherwise he was downright terrifying, loved his overall design, and how he linked back to OoT so well.

In 2013, we got the spinoff game Hyrule Warriors, which introduced to us the fan favorite long-haired Ganondorf (that, let's be real, we all just willed into canon for TotK), and honestly my favorite design of him thus far. I mean, look at him. He's slayin without even trying.

But the one thing that bugs me about them is that their designs don't feel "Gerudo". Definitely speaks evil, King of Demons, the whole shebang that is, y'know, his entire theme. But while there are a few obvious references to it, it doesn't really speak Gerudo. It doesn't actually feel Gerudo, it feels like he would have grown up outside the culture when he probably didn't see the grass of Hyrule field until he was at least mid to late teens. The only things making him Very Obviously Gerudo are the dark skin and red hair.

TotK Ganondorf broke that cycle.

In TotK, Ganondorf actually feels Gerudo. His overall design is V E R Y reminiscent of his culture and background and I actually like it. He doesn't feel like this Guy who just happens to share traits with the other Gerudo. All of the stylized jewelry, the sweatpants, the hairstyle, even his robe actually screams Gerudo. He actually feels like he belongs to the culture.

And that's just on his design. If you really pay attention in the Dragon Tears memories, he's actually given a bit more character than normal and possibly motives outside that of just pure power and greed. Which tbh I'm fucking bored of in regards to Ganondorf but that's for another rant on another day.

In the memory where Ganondorf and his people meet up with Rauru, Ganondorf mentions a key bit of information that I don't think many people noticed.

"Allow me to offer you my deepest apologies on behalf of the Gerudo for taking so long to accept your repeated invitations."

That last bit right there, repeated invitations. This line alone implies that the Gerudo as a whole probably weren't on board with the idea of coming under Hyrule's guard, but more importantly, that Rauru wouldn't take no for an answer. As the leader of the Gerudo at the time, Ganondorf probably dealt with letter after letter after letter of Rauru trying to get them to join Hyrule, when it's likely that the Gerudo made it very clear that they weren't interested and were satisfied just vibing on their own. So, right there, that gives Ganondorf reason to dislike Rauru greatly. I know I would in his position.

While it is shown that Ganondorf most certainly still has that hunger for power, his people were backing him up for the most part. They probably wanted Hyrule to leave them tf alone too and thought that the attack memory was their way of saying "hey, we're fine on our own, fuck off" (at least that's the vibe I've gotten from it). Ganondorf definitely still wanted power, that much was obvious, and it probably wasn't obvious to his people until he started conquering everything after Sonia's death and his takeover of the kingdom. He actively betrayed the trust of his people and everyone who looked up to him. Which he did in OoT too, but you had to do a little more digging on that one.

While I still have my complaints about his character, at least he feels a little more fleshed out in TotK. Granted that I haven't finished the game yet; I'm taking my sweet time just exploring and causing problems and riding the dragons for hours at a time. I may be missing some key details as a result and if anyone spoils me I'm going to hunt you down and eat your toes

I'll go on about the overall lore around TotK and why it hurts my brain so much another time bc this post is already absurdly long but uh yeah lol

another question regarding people that were smuggled in, if you don't mind! [lighthearted]

SOOOOO Volo was successfully smuggled in, I know that. But! He's a Pokemon trainer! I assume his team also got smuggled in, since he's never seen without their pokeballs on him somewhere, but my question is would they count as Outside Powers and be unavailable? Or are they also fair game?

[Pokeballs can canonically be unusable in some circumstances so if they're unavailable despite still being in their Pokeballs that's cool, but Also they get automatically released if their pokeballs are broken or heavily damaged—if that were to happen would that be okay? I Prommy My Friend And I Writing Our Lore Fics Will Not Try To Godmode Shit With Pokemon LDNDJDKDKCKCKF though that'd fit into Volo's character bc he tried (and failed!) to do that in his source lmao]

hi another ask but lore wise other then council who do you think is the most powerful honestly i would say sora cuz she's terrifying but lore wise idk

Oh!! I love Hololive powerscaling LMAO I am sorry you have enabled me to get a little wordy thank you

I will say that Council are definitely some of Hololive's most powerful members, though technically they're still creations of what we only really know as the Gods, so that proves there's beings above Council (future EN Gen, maybe???). It's likely that the Ancient Ones are one of those beings, seeing as Sana is literally the personification of space and she's an apostle to the Ancient Ones themselves.

So therefore Sora definitely has potential to be extremely powerful if we lean into her Goddess aspects, especially considering her almost total lack of fear, and her sheer presence!

On a similar note, AZKi does have similar potential, as it's stated she was reborn into the virtual world to fabricate a new world entirely with her voice. Sure, it's only in the virtual world, but then again, the "virtual" aspect of Holomem's character lore did get dropped as Gens grew, so it's possible AZKi has godly power outside of the virtual realm.

In terms of 100% canonical lore though (not having been established through fanbase memes or vague virtual backstory), I'd probably vouch for Omega. Though we don't really have much info about them other than the fact they're basically the reason Council had to step up and become more active in recent times to deal with them (for better or worse), I guess it's heavily implied they're super powerful and possibly universe-shattering??? (Hey so uh. Hi yes hello. Stanley Admin here. I don't like doing serious posts but some things have been bothering me for a while so.

I wanna start by saying this is all /lh. It's just a stupid taspblog and it's not really that serious, I'm not mad at anyone, I'm just realizing I really need to be more reaffirming on some overstepped boundaries.

I'm just gonna like. Bullet point these cuz idk what I'm doing.

I'm going to try to make a small summary of important events for people who showed up late. Try. I'm not promising anything because writing summaries tends to be very draining for me but I know it's a lot at this point. That being said please don't ask for summaries of large events in my inbox, especially of they're from a while ago. I can't get to all of them and some of them I've already summarized in the past. I've made it clear in the past that while I understand the importance of summaries at this point please don't expect them because it is exaughsting to try and create a comprehensive post of everything important from those events.

Also with asks. Ok how do I word this one. So obviously we handle a lot of sensitive subjects on here and all that. And I love angst! It's a great tool in the writers box. But if you're sending an ask that's... kind of clearly not in character agnst an more just venting, please stop that. I've had several people do this. And some have stopped, but some still do it. I'm sorry. I'm just going through a lot as well and don't know how to also help someone else or even respond to it. especially when it's several people. In character is fine!! In character makes sense and is cool. But when it's like, ok this is out of character, idk how to respond to that. Sorry.

And on characters and lore I love the amount of anon blogs that have popped up! I really do!! But. Ok story time. Once upon a time I was clarifying how anons act in the parable. I clarified that they aren't actually part of the parable, but rather outside of it and capable of interacting or changing things by interacting with Stanley. I tried to be rather insistent on this for some time, but as more people ignored it I kinda just. Gave up. The reason I was trying to insist on this is because I felt like having anons in the parable may like. Disrupt Stanley's actions. Like recently!! When Stanley reset and it effected people who it technically shouldn't have effected. It adds a weird layer of Stanley's actions effecting people who realistically shouldn't be effected by a reset.

Obviously there's exceptions. Like 432 who is obviously in the parable cuz. Yeah. ABPA you could even maybe make a case for, but how the character is handled it really works out. He's part of Stanley's universe though not part of the parable. His own thing interacting with Stanley. Like being stuck in a constant time loop in a void and getting a postcard from your buddy out kareoking saying wish you were here. It works.

Actually let's talk about the mintcident real quick. The mintcident is a great example of bending the rules but still working. It didn't break really any previous lore despite interacting with the parable. It was it's own contained thing that even cleaned itself up with a reset. Everyone was on board and it opened up the gates for me and Naradmin to do literally whatever the hell we wanted with a hard reset, and it's how we even got human narry. It was one of the first major actual plots we did beyond just hijinks. The only thing before that was when Stanley talked, which happened on the same day. It drew back on the carrot association talking about if Stanley was sacrificed to a cult what would happen, and worked itself really well. Mint and Gnarly if you're reading this you handled this greatly and it's why the mintcident is so important to this blog now. I remember they even apologized in case it messed with a prior plan (it didn't lmao).

The point is there can absolutely be exceptions to the rules but. This exceptions aren't often because. It usually doesn't work out. I'm glad when it does! It's always fun to see peoples like and how they interact, but when it gets in the way of the pre set rules I made to not cause any trouble, it gets a little difficult. Yeah.

That's all I can think of right now. This is getting pinned cuz it's kind of important, and as we're entering a new setting I wanna just. Re establish some boundaries. So things run more smoothly and it's less stressful for me. Again I'm not mad I just wanted to bring this up cuz some of this has been really stressing me out and I tried to type this all as delicately as possible. I'm really hoping any of this actually makes sense. Obviously this is all my own stuff and I can't speak for I Naradmin agrees with these boundaries or if they're even reasonable, I may be way out of line asking for this and yeah sorry. Idk how to make these kinds of posts. Not sure what this will look like for people moving forward, I don't have a good answer for solving these problems, but I should probably acknowledge them anyway. Sorry for the long ass post. I'm gonna go drink some lemonade and answer some asks in a bit.)

Would probably get a spark in his eye from watching the faceless hordes he's helped explode into fire and heavenly judgement then go and raze over the ruins again not because he's buddy buddy with the system administrators but because he knows he's playing easy mode in a game where he's been playing outside the screen. Just a schadenfreude thing after the sunken cost fallacy of seeing the world he's obligated to save be a real piece of shit.

but then also like lumine as like that kinda gap moe sorta protag that's come in the trails of her brother and is figuring out stuff on the second run of the simulation. She'd definitely give mercy reluctantly. Loves the feeling of getting over gods. Cold but actually the better of the two both combat-wise and personality-wise, but that doesn't make her that kinda naive kinda main character that just does whatever for whatever whoever says what. Energy saver.

Still like her brother would forget every face that came her way except for the useful ones, and try to get to know them to tell a good story once that's all they have left of their time travelling around. Girl exploring the ruins of past civilizations and thinking about the taste of her own dissolved home in the back of her throat, the riveting revulsion of total freedom as the last light in a sea of candles. The power that remains, sealed away by tyrants that can only smile when they meet the end of her blade.

Double agent Lumine going over voluntarily to the Abyss and allying with them from convenience, manipulating the logic of the world to her benefit. Tired but kind to non-human creatures that might make her run around for years to fix things others have broke but have the best foes to fight, because only with the things like Aranara and Melusines can she show her true self as that otherworldly alien no human can understand, not even the Vision wielders to a certain sense. Wanders the deep lore areas of the continent to absorb more about the conflicting logic of the world, the idea of samsaras something that she wants to toy with.

So my partner is amazing and let's me ramble about RE to them whenever I want to, and even sat down to watch Vendetta with me when I bought it, so the other day I was like explaining Leon and Chris' characters (bc my partner knows how much I love them both lmao so of course that's what I was talking about), and we have both come to the conclusion that Leon is a bisexual disaster, and Chris is a homosexual. The running joke is that Leon is also just generally a whore, out there living his best life, and Chris is the kind of gay guy who no one expects to be gay bc of stereotypes and his habit of never really talking about himself, but he also was never really in the closet about it, so he's surprised whenever people are surprised to learn that he's gay lolol but in all seriousness Leon is not only bisexual, but he's the type to fall in love easily despite all of his background and trauma related to betrayal, so his heart is almost continually broken, either bc he's betrayed or he loses whoever it is he's found himself in love with (and sometimes both i.e. Krauser, and Ada at the end of RE2), either through death or just leaving bc he knows he can't stay/can't be with whomever. As for Chris, maybe I'm reading into it wrong, but despite all of the like, romantic connotations they try to put into some of his games (which I don't. Really see? Like there was some in the first game with Jill but I just cannot see them together like that, neither seem interested in one another like that. And of course, Jessica, who I can't stand, and who Chris is supposedly totally oblivious to? Like she thinks he didn't notice her flirting in RE revelations, and Parker is like "is it that, or is he maybe interested in someone else?" And the assumption there is that he means Jill, but again, I don't see it? Even in that game! But that line of Parker's always makes me think "yeah, he's more than just interested in someone else, he's playing for a whole nother team entirely!" lmao. And I haven't seen much for 5 but I'm sure it's there between Chris and Sheva, and then for 6 from what I understand there really is hardly any talk of Chris in regards to any women at all? 8 has nothing, as well, and the DLC for 7 is just another "Chris loses his entire team in horrific fashion yet again" side plot, so nothing there either), he never seems interested. He's always focused on the task at hand, not letting emotions get in his way, and like, some could argue that that's why he doesn't show interest or why Capcom doesn't create more romantic lore around him, but if they really wanted to Make Sure he was straight and Make Sure everyone playing these games knew that, I imagine there would be some one line little hints in the games of him talking about how he can't let himself get distracted, or in his line of work there are no happy endings or what have you, but. There's none of that. Bc he isn't forcing himself not to be interested, he isn't purposefully focusing on saving the day so he doesn't have to get hurt knowing he can never have whichever high potential for a dope ass protag female character who's constantly sacrificing herself to save him bc what better purpose could they serve, right Capcom?, he's just. There, doing his job and trying to save whoever he can, not getting distracted in anyway whatsoever by any of the women in his life, romantically at least. He still cares way too much, but it never comes off as romantic to me in pretty much any way. Also the note he leaves in his STARS locker in RE2remake, Claire being like "this doesn't sound like Chris at all!" Is funny to me bc like, I don't really remember so correct me if I'm wrong, but she doesn't elaborate on WHY that note doesn't sound like Chris lmao is it bc he's respectful to women at all times and doesn't ever objectify them, probably hates when other people do? Or is it bc he would never be interested in women in this way ANYWAYS, the man is so gay, he must have left this note so that Claire would know something is Up, bc her brother is Such a homosexual.

first of all I'm happy you have someone to ramble to even though they aren't into the thing themselves! :D I regularly rant about RE fandom things to my brother haha and he listens patiently although he isn't in the fandom at all, he's only played the games and that's it. but he still listens to my shippy rambles lol.

as for your thoughts? makes sense to me tbh. I definitely headcanon Leon as a bisexual disaster most of the time, because it does seem fitting. maybe it's partly because I think he's absolutely breathtakingly stunning and it'd be a shame to deny anyone that, so, naturally he wouldn't care about such trivial things as gender, pfth, love is love.

also Leon falling in love easily? absolutely. too damn easily. c'mon this is a man who gets attached to anyone who shows him even the tiniest amount of basic kindness in the matter of minutes. he canonically forms attachments with Claire, Ada, Krauser, Helena, Buddy and JD (JD 😭)... whoever else am I forgetting? but this is the guy who meets someone and would die for them five seconds later. so. it tracks.

and you know what, I can 100% see Chris being only into men. because like. I don't see the romance there either when he's interacting with the women in his life? okay, sure, I could imagine something there between him and Jill if pressed seeing the way he so single-mindedly wants to save her and then holds her in the scene after they get that thing off her chest. maybe. but even there it doesn't really feel super romantic to me, personally.

in the first game with Jill there's not... a lot of romance I don't think? sure she falls asleep against his shoulder in the evac helicopter but i mean, i've fallen asleep against a friend like that? not an indication of romance? they're clearly important to each other! i am not trying to diminish their importance to one another at all! they'd die for each other and they'd do anything it takes to protect each other and i do think their relationship is compelling but... i don't really see anything inherently romantic in it.

and Jessica, yeah, Chris is 100% oblivious to her advances. it is implied in the game that he's into Jill instead but other than that there's again zero actual romantic interaction between Chris and Jill. I was actually talking about this with my brother, who said the same, like there were so many chances in Revelations to put something romantic in there between Chris and Jill but there just. isn't? anything? except for Parker's comment. which is why it felt so damn out of place? (and like my brother would've wanted to ship Chris and Jill, he was kinda bummed about this i feel :'D) so interpreting it to mean he's not interested in women at all would actually make more sense lmao.

as for RE5, I've played it twice (with my brother lmao do we see a theme here) and honestly I don't remember anything in the game that would've insinuated anything more than solid partnership between Chris and Sheva?? if someone who's more familiar with the game wants to correct me on this, then please! but at least off the bat I can not remember anything so I think they actually didn't try to even hint at romance for them?

and in RE6 Chris is way too focused on killing "Ada" to have any thoughts about anything else :'D so no. no mentions in there regarding him and any women. at all. not even hints of Jill which is so incredibly weird (and stupid tbh) bc she was made to be so important to him in RE5 and then doesn't even get a mention in RE6? (/shakes fist damn you capcom! the characters exist outside the games they're in!)

I think that's pretty much the main difference between Chris and Leon tbh. Chris sees the job at hand, and he knows it'll help, he knows it'll save people and it'll make the world safer and he's so single-mindedly focused on the job that he sees nothing else. while Leon sees people, for the better or for worse, and he is willing to take detours if it helps even one person in the meantime. like in RE6, Leon willingly ignores the task at hand to go help just about anyone. Chris doesn't want to pause even when pressed bc he has an end goal in mind.

and bear in mind, I am not trying to say this somehow makes Leon better or Chris better or anything. they're both doing this to help. they both have their heart in the right place. they both care. but they're just so different! their personalities, and their way of dealing with things is different! I feel Chris is really target oriented and wants to get the job done. while Leon's easily distracted from it, because of all the damn feelings :'D

but yeah. i love them both, and i think it's really damn fascinating how they're both the good guys, the heroes of the franchise, but they both take to things so differently.

Disclaimer: I have not read the books! Truthfully I don't really care to. I don't think they're much good. So take all my headcanons with a grain of salt as most of them are more formulated from wiki knowledge rather than actual book knowledge

I'm also going to keep this outside the realm of my stuff regarding Maybeth (My Hero of Kvatch) and Titus' relationship since those are mangled in my own oc lore (but if you decide you wanna know more about that too....👀)

OKAY LET'S GO

Titus Mede I:

It's stated that Titus came from humble beginnings. Personally I like to imagine he was a man who worked the docks in Anvil turned mercenary-for-hire during the oblivion crisis. His group might not have been made of the most savory of folk, but hired swords were needed around that time and it was good money.

idk I just like the idea of a man who looks for any excuse to get out of the palace and into the water. I imagine he's quite popular down by the Waterfront

This man is BUFF. There's no way you rise up to warlord and conquer a city with a thousand men without being jacked as all hell. I also pictured him being tan and covered in scars. Just all around rugged, which would put him in stark contrast with the proper pedigree of the Septim lineage

In that sense I imagine his reputation fares better with soldiers and the common folk than aristocracy. His court manners are Mediocre At Best and if given the choice between robes or armor, he'll choose armor for every occasion

.Titus is stoic. To conquer an empire you need to know how to keep your emotions in check, and as a result you will almost never see this man cry or laugh in public.

He surrounds himself with "wise" council because he's actually quite incompetent when it comes to politics. He's a rather "I fight with my fists instead of words" kind of guy, and that makes maintaining his empire, for lack of a better word, difficult. He will choose displaying military strength or any other forms of diplomacy.

That isn't to say that Titus is stupid. He's a master of strategy and remarkably charismatic, able to coerce even the most cowardly men into battle.

He's incredibly soft for dogs. Owns about ten, probably, all of whom serve as loyal warhounds.

The wiki mentions he became a king of Colovia and?? wow didn't know that was a thing. That said, I imagine this means all counts/countesses essentially swear fealty to him after his successful rise to power. The capital of his throne was likely located in Chorrol, the city-state nearest to that of the Imperial City.

The man uses his son to stroke his own ego. He is obsessed with preserving the Mede legacy, and that means making Attrebus a hero in the eyes of the people. You can see how this ends up backfiring on him lmao

Honestly, lets face it, probably got assassinated before his time. Man seems like he makes a lot of enemies.

Attrebus Mede:

The pretty boy! The only son, and yet still the family disappointment. I love how much this kid is just an absolute pampered spoiled little rich boy.

As proven, this boy absolutely believes in his own hype. This was something fed to him from day one, and the realization that he isn't actually All That probably gave him an identity crisis

Isn't very strong physically, but makes up for it with incredible reflexes and an eye for strategy, much like his father.

Also very intelligent in the book department. Has a fondness for history and literature, and can speak a number of languages.

Doesn't have a bad bone in his little body. Treb has such a kind heart that it makes him a little too generous at times. Would probably give his entire fortune away to charity if he didn't think the Royal Treasurer would beat his ass for it.

He also doesn't have as many lovers as he brags about. Treb's a romantic by nature, if given the choice between friends-with-benefits and a true, romantic relationship, he'll choose the latter.

He's also a mama's boy for sure.

I truly believe that he goes on to become an incredible Emperor, ones who works in the best interests of the people, and who is fondly remembered long after his passing.

I'm sure there's more that I just can't think of off the top of my head but thank you for asking my thoughts!! I love having any excuse to talk about my personal headcanons in regards to stuff like this

I tried writing this on my phone and it started giving me weird ass typos and shit since my phone is being wonky as hell. So, I switched to my laptop but it still might be disjointed and weird.

Hmm I think Khadgar definitely has a praise kink. The way he just..lights up whenever someone praises him is such a give away. (He’s literally described as lighting up in the “im proud of you” scene with Lothar in the novelizationAnd I think there’s some deep rooted reasons behind why he reacts so strongly.  So, we’re going to talk about his absolutely horrible self-esteem and self-worth real quick.

 I feel like Khadgar feels..unwanted. His parents dropped him off at the Kirin Tor and never looked back. (He looks so goddamn sad when telling that story)

That is enough to fuck up someone’s self esteem and self-worth. Khadgar is never given a reason so for all he knows they just didn’t want him (whether it’s true or not he probably believes that honestly because he doesn’t have a high opinion of himself at all) He refers to himself as not being “guardian material” which could mean several things but is self-deprecating at best

In game lore is worse because the Kirin Tor basically send him away since he’s such a pain in the ass. Possibly hoping he’ll die on the way to Karazhan. And if he doesn’t we’ll they’ll get a spy so win/win either way right? (Wrong)

The Kirin Tor don’t really like him.

He’s a pain in the ass (he isn’t letting them control him), he’s canonically incredibly nosy always snooping around lmao and on top of that In the movie verse he renounced his vows and is like yeah fuck you

Which he doesn’t feel good about despite not wanting to be Guardian. He says something about it being an honor to have your child sent up to Dalaran and having them run away..is not.

How could it not create an inferiority complex a mile wide?

So, when I write him having a praise kink I have it in mind that it stems from all this.

He’s a young man starved for validation and probably affection. I doubt the Kirin Tor were particularly loving. There fact they literally brand them with that tattoo at 11 says enoughil. (Which would be traumatic in itself for a child jfc)

A kid doesn’t need the weight of the world on their shoulders at 11 (that being when they made him novitiate in the movie canon) they need love and support. Which he does not get.

So he grows up and keeps getting the idea he’s unwanted reinforced.

And then he someone wants him. Someone likes him! Someone thinks he did good and he’s not at all used to that. Of course he’s going to respond very strongly to that. 

As for it being a kink, It’s not at all unusual for kinks to stem from personal issues even if they have nothing to do with sex (that’s not always the case of course but it happens) so it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to say it could manifest in the bedroom as well as outside of it in non-sexual situations.

Especially since he’s still pretty young in the film and TLG. He’s probably horny af. Horny af and starved for validation and affection. It’s almost inevitable lmao. Strong emotional reactions and sexual reactions can easily get blurred. Especially when sexual attraction is involved. 

and hey, it’s hot. feeling wanted and/or loved is a wonderful feeling. knowing you’re pleasing your partner is a wonderful feeling. and for most people seeing their partner get off is well..hot obviously.  (especially knowing you’re the one responsible for it)

Sex is intimate. You’re extremely vulnerable. Compliments and praise feel good in any situation but especially when you’re at your most vulnerable. Especially if it’s someone you love and admire.

TDLR: :He just wants to be wanted and loved. That’s what it comes down to. He wants someone to be proud of him because he’s never ever had that.

Also the way he reacts to people praising him is adorable. Even his face in the movie when Med just says “you did well today” kills me.

(he also gets so proud and blushy in the The Last Guardian novel whenever Medivh praises him so mhmhmhmh Khadgar…really blushing? that can be interpreted several ways and I like the perverted one)

But in all seriousness I think he just wants someone to want him and to love him. He wants to make his partner happy and needs to know they want him and love him. So, praise in the bedroom is probably a big hot button lmao. 

Because (unconsciously) it’s like yes! they want me! I’m doing good! im wanted..im loved. Please..don’t leave me. if i do good you won’t send me away right? ..right?

 (okay i just made it sad..again but going off that if you wanna take it in a darker direction you can focus on how it can manifest in unhealthy ways which it definitely could. That’s something I’ve written about before bc im mean and i wanted some whump. but some good ol healthy manifestation of praise kink is a+++++ too. He deserves all the love and praise in the world
