꒰꒰ not to mention !!! he will text you it’s an emergency and they have to call him, a matter of life or death situation. knowing he’s a shaman, he could die but there’s like a percentage of a chance that could happen, it's percentage rivals how fast he can activate his expansion domain. which isn’t much. but when they pick up the phone, he’s just gonna ask the. which top would look better or say there’s a hot deal for these sweets across the street and if they wanna go

꒰꒰ if he has a daughter he would be reluctant to go shopping with her, but he does like the fact that his kid is smiling and showing him her outfits. he better have a say as well if there's an attire that shows to much skin, he just wants the best for his girl. if a boy looks her way with a look, he will emit an aura enough for the boy to piss his pants

꒰꒰ if his kid is a boy, you bet hes gonna teach his son to beat up half the delinquents up the area too ‼ he has so much trust in his son, they would spar sometimes and he would take him on to missions. he sucks at giving advice, probably around the words of 'just be yourself?' he won't show it but he's cheering for you

꒰꒰ he's a chill dad, if their kid ever forgets anything at home and he's off to drop it off at school, he would be a bit reluctant cuz why did they forget it to begun with, but he's gonna do it anyways <3 the one parent that everyone calls pretty

꒰꒰ he'll text his kid basic and short messages, a how's your day or do you want anything from here kinda texts when he's out on missions. he wants to be sure that you're given enough space to be yourself within his reach

꒰꒰ fushiguro screams like the type of dad that would have a family photo in his wallet. i just find that cute and UGGH yes <3

꒰꒰ if his kid comes home crying, he's going to immediately comfort them. bad test or shitty day, he's gonna be slightly awkward but he'll take them out for their favourite food or arcade

꒰꒰ he's also the typa dad that will check up on you before he goes to bed or when he comes back from a mission, when you're all asleep just to make sure you're safe

꒰꒰ listen,,, listen, kugisaki is a bad bitch mother and it radiates that energy

꒰꒰ if she has a kid, she's gonna raise them to be the baddest bitch in all of tokyo, in all of japan if all i care. she gives her kids credit for even trying to beat gojo up, but if they can't she's still gonna be happy if they tell her they kicked a guy's kneecaps in for taking their lunch money

꒰꒰ a little reckless, her parenting methods are a bit questionable but like its kugisaki here, she does whatever the hell she wants. her kid falls to the ground? don't cry pussy, get up you're better than this

꒰꒰ kugisaki's that mother who probably buys take out food every friday, or takes her kids out to a mf buffet only to tell them to pay for her because she gave birth to their ungrateful asses

꒰꒰ she's the most chill mother out there, all her kids' friends probably want to be adopted by her because she's fun and knows how to kick ass

꒰꒰ if she has a daughter, definitely wants them to be famous instead of a shaman. she wants to see her kid rocking those magazines or fuckin it up in movies or j-dramas, so she got rights to stroll through the red carpet as the most beautiful mother

꒰꒰ if she has a son, definitely will end up making him into a loyal, bad boy who knows how to drink his respect women juice on a daily basis. the son who also get absolutely wrecked by his own mother in smash bros. doesn't matter how old kugisaki is, she would still be able to beat her son even if he's a first grade shaman

꒰꒰ if her kids come home crying, i bet you she'll only scold them. she'll ask why the hell you crying over this guy/girl, they're way low of the standards and are not even it. she would convince them that they're so much better (?) to make them feel good about themselves. and then she'll probably head lock the kid to crush on a better person

꒰꒰ she's the type of mother who wouldn't sit down to talk to her kid often, sometimes she also socks at communicate like fushiguro but at least she knows it. she would be the type that would comfort her kid by bring food ( typical asian parent shit tsk iykyk )

꒰꒰ she's also that type of mother when they tell her that someone makes fun of something to the point that their kid is broken by it, she will get out that car and pick at fight with the kids, and then wipe their ass on the floor, and the mop the deck with their parents

꒰꒰ he would be the dad that would wake their kid up in the morning so they're not late, pack their food or bring food to their school if they forgot to bring any

꒰꒰ he doesn't really spoil his kid, but you bet he'll take them to fun places like arcades, escape rooms and even go street food binging. definitely would have a movie marathon too

꒰꒰ if he's back from a mission early and near the school his kid goes too, you bet he's going to catch them by the end of school just to walk home with them and take about his mission

꒰꒰ he's the kind of dad that wouldn't mind if they're swearing around the house, but they gotta watch their mouth still, he doesn't want them to be as bad as sailor nor does he want them picking up nasty habits

꒰꒰ if his kid is a girl, he will give her space and room for anything, be it needing some time alone after a bad test or constantly wanting to go out with her friends to get her mind off things that he might not be able to fix. he doesn't mind going shopping, definitely would give an opinion to any outfits with a thumbs up. takes pictures with his daughter on any shenanigans they do together and send them to his group chat with kugisaki and fushiguro

꒰꒰ having a boy, he would want to play sports with them and go on missions. sometimes they would go to the arcade to try the punching game to see who has the highest and then bet the lower pays for food after. he likes giving advice, even though it won't be helpful or will be, he's gonna say it either in hopes that it'll be brought up in their head in any moment they're in

꒰꒰ he's the type of dad that has a selfie of him and his kid as a lockscreen i jUST KNOW IT

꒰꒰ if his kid comes home crying he will be so worried. like whats wrong, what happened, who hurt you, does he have to punch someone?! he's going to pull them into his arms and take them out for food, maybe even a walk. he's they type to want to cheer them up no matter the situation, and probably when they're all good and dandy, he will personally talk to solve the root of the problem behind their back

can we take a moment to cry about shigaraki’s backstory bc like, that poor child. like, he killed his whole family on accident (mostly 👀) then he was pretty much groomed to be a villain by all for one. i mean yea, he wasn’t all good, from the itching urge for destruction and wanting to kill his father and those two thugs, but i think he could’ve turned out good if he were raised in a happy family and not uhhh biggest villain ever. maybe i’ll make an au where someone finds him before afo does.

Omg yessssssss, apologies cuz I’m about to ramble but reading that part of the arc as it came out was like a million consecutive punches to the gut. I remember I got into bnha around the time S3 was going through its second half, and didn’t start reading the manga until the joint training arc was about halfway done (I couldn’t stand the wait for S4 so I finally gave in just so I could see what happens next and let me tell you I did not regret it one bit), and while I did think that the villains were cool and terrifying, they were mostly forgettable for me because we knew hardly anything about them (with the exception of Dabi because I jumped on the Dabi is a Todoroki theory as soon as I noticed the similarities). Even Shigaraki I didn’t really want to see on screen too much because I wasn’t interested in what his character had to offer, and then Hori gave us the MVA arc.

At first I was aprehensive because I was worried Hori was trying to make us focus our attention on something boring and uninteresting just for the sake of moving the plot forward, but as soon as Spinner began narrating and we saw a whole new side to the villains, I was immediately sold and so goddamn invested, and the amount of content and characterisation that the villains received that arc is what made me a villain stan. I could go on and on about just how well the villains are written here, but my main reason for appreciating them as characters is because the perspectives they offer are far more interesting to me than the students. The students are very cookie-cutter black and white, happy-go-lucky and hopeful youths going on some grand journey to become heroes and save people and beat the bad guys, but said bad guys give so much more flavour to the world of bnha because they raise questions you never thought of before. Great villains are always the ones who challenge the status quo and make you question your morals and the structure of the society the characters live in, and more often than not it reaveals that the main antagonists are not actually the true evil at play here. I aboslutely love the direction Hori has taken the villains and how he’s utilised them to protray just how fucked the hero system is and how society normalizes it, and even how All Might’s age of peace turned out to be a huge fucking mistake due to the impact it had on both heroes and villains. Shigaraki is the perfect example of this, a child who suffered at the hands (literally) of his own Quirk and ended up roaming the streets looking for help. But because of All Might’s influence, society ended up complacent, because they were lulled into the mentality that someone else would come along and solve the problem, they didn’t have to get involved at all, and that’s exactly how Shigaraki wound up in the care of AFO. Because no one looked at this frightened, bloody child and wanted to lend a hand, he was left to fall victim to the darkness.

But honestly, what’s even sadder is that AFO’s grooming didn’t just make Shigaraki thirst for desctruction, but it’s set him up on a destiny he doesn’t need to be a part of, just the same as Deku. The only reason Deku and Shigaraki are fated to clash is because of the burden their mentors have placed on their shoulders, because of the long history behind OFA and AFO. Shigaraki has no prior interest in OFA, he just wants to destroy everything he hates, but it wasn’t until he received AFO that he was then unwillingly influenced to pursue it, and I’m honestly so glad that Shigaraki intends on rejecting that desire. I can only imagine what his reaction would if he learned the full truth behind AFO’s intentions for him.

All in all, I’m just absolutely in love with the villains and how their characters are written; the found family dynamic that they have going on is honestly my favourite part. The juxtaposition of Shigaraki craving the destruction of everything while simaltaneously caring and looking out for this little group he’s formed? Placing his trust in them and wanting them to be happy? Shigaraki is one of the most human characters in the entire series, and Hori’s decision to give him such an empathetic trait is the best thing to ever happen to him. Even though he was plucked off the streets and manipulated to become a force of evil, he’s still maintained that one redeeming quality that makes him three-dimensional, and it’s absolutely heartbreaking to think about what he would’ve been like had he gotten help back then. I have no doubt that he would’ve started some kind of campaign for those who are less fortunate, and I like to think that he still would’ve met at least some of the League members this way.

Fun fact that was revealed earlier in the manga but not translated to the anime: Inosuke’s ability to ‘sense’ out the location of enemies is due to his superior sense of touch. Complementing Tanjiro’s sense of smell, and Zenitsu’s hearing.

the blood smudge on Inosuke’s boar mask looks kinda like the typical anime blush marks, and when we only see his left half of his face it throws me every time

Inosuke literally every moment since his introduction: I’m the best! No one can beat me! I’ll fight anyone! I’ll fight you! I’ll fight your dog! I’ll fight myself! I’m never injured and I’m never hurt and I’m never tired! Anything Monjiro can do I can do even better! There’s no way to beat me in a fight and I’ll never surrender! Inosuke... in this episode:

And with Zenitsu it’s at least... expected of his character to want to give up. Not Inosuke. Never Inosuke. That’s fucked up. I’m fucked up.

Again the color palette. This time the desaturation is what just... drives home the feeling of hopelessness. It’s so good.

Hey y’know extra sad how all the people who have ever cared about Inosuke, who flash before his eyes while he’s dying, are people we’ve met in series. Inosuke really went 15 straight years of his life with no one ever giving a damn about him.

Inosuke: “No... actually, I WONT lose! I wont! come at me monster!” Spider-dad: -punts Inosuke like a pinball across three separate trees-

It’s like the rock-skipping-across-water but now so much more painful.

He’s literally.... crushing Inosuke’s skull... in order to kill him... Inosuke’s been training specifically to toughen his head... Because he’s mad Tanjiro was able to knock him out with a headbutt... Inosuke might survive SPECIFICALLY because of that dumb grudge... I’m emo again.

His big pretty green eyes are still... funny.

He’s so so young in this it left me wondering “how does Inosuke remember the name his mother gave him” .... and then i remembered:

His name’s written on his fucking underwear. It’s the only piece of identity his mother left him... Fuck.

This leads me to two conclusions:

1) Inosuke must have transferred his name - despite not even being able to read the words - onto all his clothing since then.

2) He must have, at some point, asked someone who can read to tell him what it says...

Inosuke, moments from death, remembering the image of his mother’s face for the first time: Who... who are you? me, bawling: you’re supposed to be the comic relief.

Hi! First time here to ask haha! Any HCs for La squadra with an Otaku s/o? Like she watches anime and even buys merch in secret cuz she's scared they might find her hobby lame and immature? (Also,what will be their fave anime? And genre?)

Oh boy let me tell you I have some THOUGHTS about these boys and their taste in anime

La Squadra with an Otaku s/o

Risotto

at first he’s gonna be kinda confused, not gonna lie. Growing up the only ‘anime’ he knew was like, Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z but at that point he was too old to really get into Pokemon, and he never considered DBZ anime because it aired next to cartoons and stuff.

But that doesn’t mean he won’t appreciate s/o and their good taste. He’s the kind of guy who wants to learn about what interests the people he loves, and he loves you. So he’d honestly enjoy late nights spent binge watching your favorites.

Comes to realize that DBZ was low key his gym goals for the early years of him working out. If you bought him a ‘Swole like Goku’ tank he’d probably wear it to lift in, ngl.

Knowing your favorites he’d probably look to merch for his go to birthday or Christmas gifts. Considering the hobbies and interests of some of his co-workers, a scantily clad waifu figure is honestly a welcome change of pace.

Depending on the style or aesthetic of the anime (ie, is it goth) he would be down to couples cosplay, although he wouldn’t be comfortable with you posting pictures of his face or any identifiable features of him online

His fave is probably the original Dragon Ball Run, followed very closely by DBZ for the nostalgia bit. Something deep like Full Metal Alchemist (Brotherhood and the original) would also appeal to him

Is also a big fan of Beserk, disappointed by the anime. And Vinland Saga, not disappointed by the anime.

Partial to Princess Mononoke as well. He likes some Ghibli films, isn’t afraid to admit it. Thinks the score for Spirited Away is bomb af.

Prosciutto

Prosciutto doesn’t really get it at first either. Honestly? He probably didn’t know the difference between cartoon and anime until you explained it to him.

Unlike Risotto he might be a bit more judgey if you try to get him to watch some with you. So you gotta hit him with the real classics.

But similarly to Risotto, he at least makes an effort to try and indulge in the things you like. He might not be as patient, but he tries.

Probably wouldn’t do cosplay himself, but would hunt down exclusive seasonal merch to gift you. He’d take careful stock of your collections and do some research to pick out only the finest figurines and posters for you.

Would buy that hella expensive premium bandai apparel for you too, might even pick something subtle up for himself if he really liked the show it came from.

Also back on the cosplay note, if you agreed he’d find the highest quality cosplay possible and have you model some of his favorites for him.

(In particular if you were comfortable in fem clothing, Faye Valentine gets him going)

He loves Cowboy Beebop. 100%, wants to watch it again as soon as it ends. Everything from the characters to the story to the music and the fliud animation that has aged like fine wine appeals to him. Prosciutto is a man who likes the finer things in life. He oozes class. Cowboy Beebop oozes class and prestige.

Also likes Maasaki Yuasa. It was his idea to go see The Night Is Short, Walk on Girl in theaters.

In general his tastes tend to lean towards arthouse type anime or bona fide classics.

Pesci

Pesci knows anime and has been doing his absolute best to keep it a secret from the rest of the gang because they already tease him enough.

He’s one of those secret weebs, you gotta know where to look. Your best bet is to look at his accessories. Is there a watch with a certain symbol from an anime you recognize? A lanyard with a familiar print? Something subtle that isn’t immediately noticed by people not looking for it.

He has a secret box in his room full of blue rays from his faves. He watches them sometimes when he’s home alone. There’s nothing X rated in there obviously, he just doesn’t want people to know.

Thank god he has you.

The two of you probably bonded pretty fast over your mutual love of anime. Hell, you being such an open and proud Otaku probably gave him a bit of confidence in expressing his interests too.

Yall are the weeb couple. Yall definitely go to conventions together. Couples Cosplays, the whole thing.

He’s a sucker for Shonen just as much as he is for the really good heart wrenching painful ones.

He watches Boruto because he loves Naruto so much.

He would also tear up at Clannad.

Dango Daikazoku triggers almost a pavlovian response of heart ache.

So does Secret Base.

Ano Hana is probably his favorite, although even you’d need to pry it out of him. Its one thing that Prosciutto gives him shit for liking anime, its a whole different ball game if he found out Pesci liked girly anime

Fromaggio

He knows what hentai is. That’s about as far as his knowledge went before yall got together.

He thinks its pretty interesting though, so he’d be down to watch some with you.

Turns out he really likes action shonen. He got really, really into One Piece. Like, instantly. He likes the fact there’s so much to watch/read before he’s caught up too.

Another boy that would couples cosplay and be really into it. Especially if it continued into the bedroom.

He’s pretty go with the flow, so he isn’t picky about what y’all watch. Even if it isn’t his cup of tea he’ll sit through a few episodes on a night with you.

Fromaggio can’t tell the difference between a high quality figure and a shitty one. Its a crap shoot what he buys for you. Its more a process of ‘oh, so likes this character’ rather than checking the seams and paint quality and how dynamic the pose is/interchangeable parts.

Definitely buys way too much in the dealers room because of this.

He tries his best.

His fave is probably One Piece, liked bleach a lot but never read the manga, Yu Yu Hakusho is another one he really enjoyed. The Dark Tournament arc had him at the edge of his seat and hype as shit.

Illuso

Had a passing knowledge of anime before dating you. Knew what it was, saw a few of the mainstream ones, thought they were enjoyable, moved on with his life.

He went down the Fate rabbit hole and we haven’t seen him since.

The gender bending grates as his soul but he is addicted regardless. There’s just so much dense lore that he can’t seem to stop going.

But also seeing how much care and attention is paid to the historical background of a lot of the servants is intriguing to him. Its the perfect blend of accurate and harem trash that infuriates him but also leaves him needing to know more.

He hasn’t played every game but he has Grand Order on his phone and has sunk an ungodly amount of money into the gacha trying to get his favorite (Its Jeanne Alter, in case anyone was wondering) and has seen all the anime (His favorite is the cooking spin off because its surprisingly calming to watch)

Fate Zero is probably his favorite ‘serious’ Fate adaptation. He enjoys the gravitas of the Holy Grail Wars (and hates how it was tossed out the fucking window in UBW/Stay Night/Heavens Feel) and the ritual aspect to the summoning and foreshadowing of future events as well as hints at a deeper magical lore in the universe hit all the right spots in his lizard brain.

The fact every fate anime has a different version of Saber (or a Saber Clone) pisses him off too.

He really loves Fate. And will scream about it for hours at you.

Getting him to watch or talk about anything else is like pulling teeth but he eventually relents because he loves you.

Its difficult to get through a single episode without him grumbling about something or another, but he tries once he sees its important to you. He does his best not to outright insult your favorite anime.

Can appreciate high quality merch as well, probably collects Jalter Figures himself.

If you’re comfortable in fem clothing, Cosplay Jalter for him and he will literally ascend then and there. Keeps pics on his phone. Would probably make it his background. He’s weak

Outside of Fate he finds he enjoys high fantasy shows. Historical fantasy pisses him off too much, and straight up historical drama would also have him grasping for inaccuracies.

Full Metal Alchemist is a non-fate series that he really loves because of the world building. The movie Maquia was one he enjoyed as well. Likes every Miyazaki film, don’t tell anyone. Cried (and raged) when Ushio died in Clannad.

In general he just likes really good world building. It has to be good otherwise he’s going to spend the whole time picking it apart.

BnHA Chapter 214: 4th Popularity Poll and 5th Set Climax

Previously on BnHA: Deku met a Hellboy-looking dude in another one of his One For All Dreams and they had a chat! This friendly yet intimidating fella told Deku that the power that had just exploded out of him was actually the dude’s quirk, Blackwhip. It turns out that OFA hasn’t just been stockpiling physical power; all six of the prior wielder’s quirks are included in the package as well! It’s just that up until now, none of the other wielders has ever been able to access them. Before vanishing back into the dream abyss, Deku’s new friend told him he needed to gain better control of his emotions, as his anger toward Monoma was what triggered Blackwhip’s rampage and made it so difficult to handle. Back in the real world, Deku awakened unharmed thanks to Ochako and Shinsou’s efforts. But since the teachers hadn’t called off the battle yet, Monoma came rushing in to attack, with the rest of Team B not being far behind. Mina and Mineta showed up to battle Yanagi, Shouda, and Kodai (they really need to do something about that number disadvantage), while Ochako battled Monoma and Shinsou got ready to take on Deku. The teachers are still watching btw, but it seems like they want to see how this plays out.

Today on BnHA: The newest popularity poll results are revealed and I have a lot of thoughts. A lot of thoughts. Vlad and All Might question why Aizawa wants to let the kids keep fighting, and Aizawa says it’s cuz they’re all still trying their hardest to win. Mineta saves Mina’s life and then completely ruins it because of course he does, but she takes it in stride and uses him to attack the others by flinging him at high speed to ricochet endlessly off of his grapes in a Gran Torino-esque fashion. Monoma tries to attack Deku with One for All but it doesn’t do anything (fortunately for Monoma), and Ochako then takes him down while Deku goes after Shinsou. Deku by the way is fighting quirkless because he’s worried that if he tries to use OFA right now he’ll lose control and put everyone in danger again. He and Shinsou start tusslin’ and we have a flashback to when Ponytail!Aizawa (omg) was training Shinsou on how to use his capture weapon. Back in the present, Shinsou uses the scarf to send a bunch of heavy pipes crashing down towards Deku. But Deku chooses this moment to make peace with himself and his quirk, and catches the pipes using Blackwhip.

(As always, all comments not marked with an ETA are my mostly-unspoiled reactions from my first readthrough of this chapter. I’m caught up with the manga now at chapter 225, so any ETAs will reflect that.)

BAKUGOU AND DEKU’S SWORDS. okay I’ve seen this image before and I love it so much, and that is of course because it’s a sequel to the color page from chapter 120. and the two of them are now each carrying one half of All Might’s sword. basically this is symbolic confirmation that the two of them together will carry All Might’s legacy forward. this is so important to me you guys. this brings me so much joy and happiness

can we talk about what Hawks is wearing. I thought this was a medieval AU, but he’s looking rather steampunk to me. what, are you too cool for D&D, Hawks? also is that a literal hawk. that you’re holding. for some reason. huh

can we talk about what Todoroki is wearing?? and also what the actual hell is going on with his face? he’s wearing some sort of weird mask. and his outfit looks nothing like it did in the previous AU color spread. was Horikoshi just being extra or is this some indicator of a crazy plotline coming up for him somewhere down the road?

I notice my boy Aizawa is missing from the top ten, which is AN ACTUAL CRIME THAT SHOULD BE REPORTED TO THE POLICE, but! on the other hand! BEST FUCKING JEANIST OH MY GOD. WELCOME BACK BEAUTIFUL PRINCE. PLEASE HEAL UP SOON

loooooool Endeavor being in the top ten must have pissed off lord knows how many people. it would have pissed me off, before the Endeavorhawks arc. but I’m cool with it now. I get it. having him as your favorite doesn’t mean you’re giving a ringing endorsement of all his actions; it just means he’s a compelling character who’s been getting some really good development lately. still absurd that he’d be ranked over Aizawa, but if I’m honest with myself it really should be Jeanist who was bumped down for that. he’s just there because Japan apparently shares the same weird tastes as myself. by the way how fucking strange is it to see Jeanist without any Jeans holy shit is that even allowed

and winding down here, (1) I’m glad to see All Might still in the top ten ranks at least, (2) Iida is a handsome boy and I love how his armor is reminiscent of his Ingenium costume here, and that he’s the one actually riding the dragon (be careful Iida or my idiot son is going to fall right off its head), (3) Kirishima is still as popular as ever I see, and lastly (4) Momo being in the top 10 is giving me life and I hope she gets some more spotlight this year! it was great to see her as the head of her respective Joint Training battle team

okay! so now let me find the list from chapter 207

holy shit, okay so first of all let me just say that apparently this poll received almost 81,000 votes. for comparison, the third poll only received about 36,000

so having said that, it is absolutely astounding that my boy Bakugou came in at number one yet again, with a margin of over 1000 votes. glad to see you being appreciated boyo

and Shouto made it to #2 for the first time! good job hot and cold! the Endeavorhawks arc definitely gave him a boost as well I think. and well deserved!

and my boy Deku at #3, but while the difference between Katsuki and Shouto is only about 1200 votes, the difference between Shouto and Izuku is more than 7,400. basically the top two are in a league of their own here goddamn

and Hawks is all the way at #4! holy shit! more than 4,500 votes between him and Deku, mind, and Kirishima is nipping at his heels less than 200 votes away from him, but still, that’s amazing given how recently he made his debut and how relatively few chapters he’s been in. I expect the number of votes for him to skyrocket in the next poll, assuming we get more of that double agent storyline. Touya -- I mean Dabi -- is probably gonna get a boost too lol

my boy Finest Jeanist on God’s Green Earth is next at 6th, and then MOMO IN 7TH PLACE YAAAAAY GO MOMO

and Endeavor made it to 8th! HOLY SHIT ENDEAVOR YOU FINALLY BEAT ALL MIGHT IN THE APPROVAL RATINGS. THESE TRULY ARE MAD DAYS

and I don’t think I’ve rambled about this yet, but! now we’re finally getting to see why Aizawa took such a personal interest in Shinsou, and I’ve been waiting and waiting for this and I’m so happy we’re finally getting to it. he sees himself in him. they both have powerful quirks capable of incapacitating even the strongest opponents, but the catch is that those quirks are mental rather than physical. physically they are essentially quirkless, and so if they ever get caught off-guard -- or pitted against giant robot opponents, or opponents who are otherwise immune to their abilities -- they’re at a huge disadvantage

so here’s this kid who’s very much like him, and Aizawa has no obligation to reach out to him, but he does so all the same, because he cares, and if he can help this kid fulfill his dreams and not have to stumble along and make it up as he goes the way he had to, isn’t that worth doing?

Aizawa Shouta let me just once again say that it’s a war crime that you were not ranked in the top ten, and I think we need to conduct a special investigation into these poll results. I’m only seeking justice and the truth

I read all the fics, sometimes got involved in ship wars over it (nothing too bad, just arguing in its favor when Kratos/Raine shippers claimed their ship was superior :p), and, I mean, remember the Kratos track in the A Long Time Ago Drama CD, where Anna gets a couple of lines? That was my first ever Tales fan translation. So even if I don’t ship it actively anymore, this ship was a big thing in my life.

Natsume/Tanuma: My first real m|m OTP! It’s funny, cuz I didn’t really ship anything in Natsume for a long time, but then season 4 came out and the Omibashira chapter happened and... it just clicked. The reason I couldn’t ship Natsume with any of the girls was because he and Tanuma were just perfect for each other, and it took me four seasons to realize that lol. Now when I rewatch the anime I just can’t believe how I missed it at first hahaha.

This is still one of my top OTP, and it’s special because it kinda changed my approach to shipping. In the past, I used to ship canon pairings almost exclusively. I took what the authors gave me and couldn’t see the members of the pair with anyone else. I mean, there’s all that evidence they’re meant to be together in the story, why would you pair them with other characters, yanno. Even when the ship was not very good I still shipped it because it was canon and that was that. And the few times I didn’t ship canon ships, it was either because the canon didn’t have endgame ships or because the story wasn’t finished yet (and, funnily, two of my big “non-canon” ships of the time ended up canon in the end -- Naruto/Hinata in Naruto and Remus/Tonks in HP). And that’s kinda why I never considered non-hetero ships back then, because that was the only kind of canon pairs that appeared in the stories I consumed, so it never crossed my mind to consider other options.

And that’s kinda why Natsume/Tanuma didn’t jump at me earlier: I was expecting Natsume to end up with a girl, though I didn’t really get a shippy vibe between him and the regular female characters, so I just didn’t ship anything. Until, like I said earlier, I watched S4E7 and thought their interactions there felt really romantic, and I just... suddenly I couldn’t see them any other way xD

So that changed the way I considered my ships, and from then on I started looking for actual chemistry and subtext between characters (and now included everyone as potential partners, regardless of gender) rather than simply what the authors decided to make endgame. I don’t really care whether my ships are canon anymore (tho I like joking about how some of them practically are XD). This is kinda what paved the way for...

Gaius/Wingul: Cuz GaiWin is all about the subtext :P I’ll leave the reasons for shipping it to another ask, but why it’s important to me: well, it’s still my no.1 OTP after all these years, and I got back into fanfiction writing for the sole purpose of seeing more contents of it. It’s consumed my heart and is part of what brought me back to Tales fandom. It’s just incredibly special to me, and will be for a long time still.

12. Have you ever been disappointed when your ship finally got together?

Haha, honestly both NaruHina and Remus/Tonks can fit that bill.

NaruHina: I’ve shipped it... probably since Hinata became my favorite character after her battle against Neji. I think at the time I thought NaruSaku would be endgame, but Hinata’s crush was cute and Sakura was so into Sasuke I decided that Hinata was much better for Naruto, so I started shipping it, reading fics, making up headcanon, etc... I should be happy that it’s the one that became canon after all, but by the time it happened the manga had become a huge mess and I’d lost all interest. The way it happened also wasn’t how I had pictured it, so overall that was pretty disappointing.

Remus/Tonks: I started shipping it in OotP, kinda not seriously at first -- I liked their few interactions, thought they had a fun dynamic, started reading fanfiction and was definitely sold. And then the next book came out and OMG, it actually happened! Which I wasn’t expecting at all, tbh. So I was quite happy it happened, but the way it did was kinda ehh. (I mean it wasn’t the happy ship I had pictured in my mind yanno.) And then the last book made it even worse by showing Remus try to abandon her and their child (and then killing them off orz). I really don’t like what the last two books did to Remus; tbh even the other ones. He was my fave in PoA, and I hoped he’d become a close adult figure in Harry’s life along with Sirius, but that didn’t really happen. He’s barely mentioned in book 4; book 5 had some good contents with him but then it all went downhill after that. So yeah I’m not happy with how JKR handled him and that ship. Some of the fanfiction I read were much better when it came to them XD;

okay now given i been in this fandom now for like 3-4yrs so there things that bound to make me be ehhh or angry in which came up with me unfortunately over analysing stuff.

first of all im gonna list the things that made me his fan, i love his stupid nerdy babu design and no not in the ‘i love sh0ta design uwu’ cuz boy that a rant for another day with my hatred of sh0tac0n/l0lic0n, it just made his behaviour of being nervous, unconfident despite being a show off bastard and insecure all that amazing. i love it so much and the fact he wanted to protect everything despite him acknowledging that it nearly impossible to do and that he doesn’t have the power to that is just ahhh i will always love characters that would give themselves up to protect their love ones also he was not a buff man so hey i wouldn’t look at him with disgusts added bonus that i came of the ft high and so i had a thing for faeries at the time lol.

first thing first the actual fact king did nothing to help ban get his sister back within those 100 chapters that had ban trying to get her back is a bit ?????????? like he was presented in the capital of the dead arc as if he gave so much shit about his sister to only then be like ‘elaine who?’ that always been so bizarre for me with that strong ‘i will do anything to protect my sister’ to 'read at 5:45 pm’ which also links into why didn’t he go back to fairy forest to let them know what happen with helbram since before he got arrested he went back to diane to erase her memories. like boy what happen to you wanting to protect/care for everything, he decided that the fairy clan + elaine wasn’t worth the trouble of explaining the situation before getting arrested but diane getting her memories erased worth the trouble.

which brings me into my next issue with king, his weird relationship with diane. now im gonna state this i dont ship nor notp kiane it 100% a valid ship that i unfortunately cant get behind or like myself, it being canon is cool with me and i wouldn’t want it any other way for them, i would like to mention that diane isn’t one of my fav characters so it not even me being bitter over ships. I absolutely can’t understand in what world was it sensible for king to just erase her memories, there was no gain for diane to loose her memories like king seem to think cuz he just a ‘bad’ person despite treating her lovely during her childhood and felt that bad about breaking his promise that he had to get rid of her memoires but like??? boy could just let her wait, it okay to wait to meet up again there was no logic for him to erase her memioes like he did, if anything he created more problems by doing that, like sorry i can’t feel empathy for your story if u made this mess yourself since with melizabeth it the parents stupidity for the angst that happen with them and with banlaine unfortunate timing and rip interracial relationship with angst.

king is a grown man, nothing anybody say can tell me otherwise he meant to be seen as an adult so im gonna judge him as an adult, the dude can’t take legit blame for himself like the death of helbram wasn’t his fault, it understandable that it wasnt his fault but he blames himself that what we call self hate and that okay! however what doesn’t slide with me is the fact he so quick to judge on other characters to the point where it not even funny, like with ban he blames him, a human for the forest that can’t be burn from normal flames stated by elaine herself and then goes on to say ban is an awful human despite him clearly seeing his love and care for elaine, ban also not being a dickhead and healing him but king doesn’t even recognised that and even thought that law was better cuz 'despite looking like ban he seemed better’ and haha you can see how that went :)

which brings me up to recent events in the manga, i do like the new design king got HOWEVER that not the king i was attached to through the story, it literally a different character with the name king attached, he lost that cute insecure/i want to protect everybody feeling to his character and became this character that so overly confidently that overly showy bastard is just so unfitting and annoying now and it feels so unearned im sorry but gods i want his old personality back not the 'its okay im here to do everything cuz i have the power :) personality that he giving off now

and that pretty much the tea™️ sorry i went on a tangent but these are my thoughts and hey maybe it will change in the future who knows but this is the current opinion i have on him

tldr: king had alot of attributes that i loved in the beginning and unfortunately some of the glaring issues with his character came too much for me and the recent chapter made me not like him as much

1. What’s your favorite thing about your muse(s)?

Oh goddess I’ve answered this twice already, but here’s me gushing over his clothes, cuz the face is just cute. There’s just surprisingly okay/good design with Momotaro that is overlooked because of all the pretty ladies that do the fan-service.

2. What’s your least favorite thing?

About Momo? Or ever? I would say losing close friends, over drama. That’s impacted me a lot, and why I can get really anxious over rping. But if you mean an actual object/show, then disposed (but there’s still notable remnants) food. Y’know the stuff in the trash. I’m allergic to bananas and that’s the most common thing rotting in the there. Makes it real tough to breathe, particularly when it comes to class too.

Don’t worry, I do have an inhaler for those sorts of things but...it’s only one inhaler and I end up mixing up where I last placed it. I just hope to the goddess that I don’t have to deal with a disposed peel during class...

3. Seeing how they’ve lived their lives - if you were in their shoes, what would you do differently?

Honestly, I’m not too sure. I would’ve said I wanted to speak up against the others (i.e. bullies, the girls) more often, but that’s just against Momotaro’s nature...and how Japan culture works. Also I would totally try to (re)tame Momotaro’s mutated friends. Come on, that Chimera is awesome! Let the boy have an awesome steed!

4. How independent is your muse(s) from your control? How much do you approve of their actions?

Hoh boy, usually I’m like “Momo no”, so that’s pretty clear that I don’t have all le controls over him. He’s simple minded so there’s not much I would need to fuss over, I suppose. HOWEVER, I do have to restrain ourselves from doing too much in the subject of triggers/pstd, because I’m still learning about that...and not many folks are fine with muses suddenly attacking their precious muse just because they tried to be affectionate.

5. If you were friends with your muse(s), what would you do together?

We’d probably go visit animals at shelters and zoos...and befriend the crud out of them. Help care for those buggers, if possible! Also I would try to learn how to cook with Momo too, if he had my headcanon-trait of being a good cook.

6. What’s one of your favorite fandoms, and why?

H.ow to K.eep a M.ummy is one, out of the sheer fact that no one has produced r34 of it yet...or at least something that’s easily found. Also the fans are pretty cool with their enthusiasm and arts. I’ve seen some cute plushies of the main critters that are fanmade! ...I probably ruined that streak didn’t I?

Also the anime is adorable, and I look forward to reading the manga. I just don’t like the heavy focus on the protagonist. I wanted to learn more about the other peeps in the gang, AND THEIR MYTHICAL FRIENDS. Especially the baku and dragon.

7. Are there any fandoms that you want to interact more with? Any AUs that you haven’t gotten a chance to try out yet?

Utapri, and kinda Idolm@ster??? I don’t know I’m working on interacting with folks in this fandom because they’re neato folks, and I fallen in love with the idols! Gah! I had this headcanon for the longest time that Momo’s guilty pleasure is idol music, but he’s only remember how melodic the voices are, and not the names or faces! It would be really cool to well, have the boy be weak but not in a depressed manner, ya know? Actually I wanna see more muses fangirling over each other, particularly if one has a publicly known job.

An au I haven’t tried out yet is actually...Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. I did rp Momo as a pokemon...ONCE, but nothing mystery dungeony. Just a “what if he was reborn as a pokemon” or “experiment gone wrong” thing, and he had a human trainer too. Now I wanna actually find a better Pokemon to suit him and do them mystery dungeon stuff...maybe someday. There was this cool group verse!

That and I wanna try out a verse where Momo is a live-in servant/butler. Seriously I gave him too many traits that fit that sort of job...and I watched too much gakuen babysitters which has the amazing Saikawa. I hear Black Butler is cool too.

8. What was one of your favorite video games as a kid?

Lemme see, Melee is VERY popular, but I loved fooling around in that game, not being a competitive smasher with all them wave dashes. Actually there’s a fair amount of games I liked that are still popular amongst the internet so let’s go something more obscure:

Mario Party 3

Dunno how the fam got it, but that was the game me and my sister played a ton of as kids, and we still came back to it when the Gamecube was around. It was part of our like strange pseudo rping thing to jump around the games to emulate the activities our characters partake in. Start in smash bros, kick some rivals butts and go on adventure! Then visit Mario Party 3 to celebrate with a giant pizza! Oh no, we need to collect some goodies, let’s go do a round on one of the boards! Kick the impostor star’s butt again! Jump to another Mario Party to run through the dungeon and ride the bus! It was kinda our way of playing pretend...I think. Good times, which is why I see the appeal in rping, ya know?

9. What’s the best song you’ve heard for the first time in the past few months?

S.O.S, by Weaver. Holy cow it’s catchy, but like so amazing in its beats. A close second would be Nijiro ⭐ Over Drive! by Otoya Ittoki...I mean his va. I love me some energetic beats man.

10. What’s the best meme you’ve found in the past year?

Okay maybe it’s not exactly a meme but it can be a culmulation of memes...of sorts... Anyways, there’s a channel called “ColeyDoesThings” and she has a series of videos where she visits a room containing a representation of a fandom...represented by her donning various personas based off of personalities found in a fanbase. This series is called “Entering the ___ fandom”. While she can’t catch all the quirks of a fandom (because some are so freakin huge), this woman catches a lot the traits I’ve seen in the places she visits. It’s hilarious to me at least.

I highly recommend the Ship Wars video, at the very least!

11. Is there something you’re looking forward to in the next few months?

Yes. Hatchimals Season 3...oh okay, not a lot of folks are into the collectible toy things. Fair enough, YouTube has fostered the growth of creepy toy channels! I am hyped for obtaining Bayonetta for the switch sometime soon, the end of the semester...I think Blade Strangers is coming out within that time period and I’m hyped to see Curly Brace in that games! Also MORE AMIIBO. That’s all I can recall, at the moment.

My reactions to Trespasser

I don’t expect anyone to read this, but I wanted to get the thoughts out of my system.

I just finished Trespasser. Let it be known that I had QUITE a lot spoiled for me. Solas’ plans, him creating the Veil, truth of the Creators, Inquisition’s fate, something about a dragon, the elves getting their elf-equivalent of the Calling, a few epilogues, and I think that’s it. However, there were things I did not know, and here are my reactions to them. I apologize in advance for this being so damn long. Note that I’m not writing this all after having finished Trespasser. What I’ve written was throughout the time I played it, though I changed the order of a couple of things in each section. I make a couple of references to The Masked Empire, but they’re explained easily enough.

Writing this after the Elven Mountain Ruins:

In general: Well, these are just a few thoughts I already had, rather than related to what happened. And what I’m mainly curious about are the eluvians. Also, slightly annoyed since they contradict the book (in the Crossroads you move much slower if you aren’t an elf), but I understand why we can’t have the elves moving a million times faster than everyone else. Having the Crossroads look more vibrant as an elf makes up for it a bit, though. Anyway, back to my curiosity. In order for the eluvians to function, they need a password (or at least the majority of them do; not 100% sure if it’s all or most). Briala and her spies are the only people with the password. Seeing how many spies she has, it’s definitely feasible that one of them was Solas’ spies, or worked for Briala and then betrayed her. Though I wonder if this is what happened, or if Briala herself decided to work with Solas. This is, of course, if you don’t have Solas help study the eluvians at the War Table. Then it’s basically your fault he has the password. I remember getting the mission (knowing who Solas really was at this point) and being like, “I am not letting Solas within one hundred feet of an eluvian.” For those of you who don’t know, in Dragon Age: The Masked Empire one of his goals was to get the password. Ironically, it ended up being “Fen'Harel enansal”, meaning “the Dread Wolf’s blessing”. How fitting, seeing as he currently has control over them.

Briala looked up to the rebel god. I wonder if she still would if she knew the truth (which I will mention in a moment, for those of you who don’t know). Knowing her, it’s entirely possible. I could see Briala siding with or against Solas in his cause. I don’t know if her getting back together with Celene would change her mind, though. Seeing as Celene purged the alienage and killed Briala’s parents, I’m surprised Briala’s still with her in the first place. …Moving on…

The story: I kind of wish there was more of an option for my Inquisitor to say that s/he (I started two at once because I want to wait for opinions on which companions I should bring here on out) wants the Inquisition to disband. I mean, I get the option to tell Giselle that I think we should disband, but after that? I’m basically acting like the Inquisition is needed and I totally support it.

Next is the part that interests me: dramatic irony. Okay, so I have far more dramatic irony here than most since I know what’s going to happen, but even without that, we still know something the Inquisitor doesn’t: who Solas is. Now honestly, that’s pretty cool. I love the fact that I’m like, “Dude, you don’t know what you’re in for.” Though it also brings me to something else, something I don’t like: I feel helpless. I feel absolutely powerless. Origins? I’m the only Grey Warden left (well, Alistair’s here, too, I guess). It’s up to me to save everyone, and I have the resources! Dragon Age 2? Bitch, I’m an Amell! The Last Court? I don’t really have anything to lose at this point, so... whatever! Inquisition: I have the Anchor and an army! Trespasser: wtf is going on? Solas is powerful, the qunari are attacking, I’m confused, I stubbed my toe and I wanna go home. It’s a huge shift. I mean, we all have control issues in the other games, but overall, I feel that there’s a sense that you know what you’re doing, more or less. In Trespasser, you’re walking in the dark, trying to feel your way around. I feel totally useless. I hate that feeling of helplessness, and I am sure that’s what they were going for. So thanks for making me feel uncomfortable and insecure, BioWare. You did a good job.

Companions: Sera, Blackwall and Vivienne have been the only ones to talk about Solas so far. Thanks for caring about my Inquisitor’s heartbreak after two years, guys. Bull has me internally cringing with his puns and harassing Krem about his love life, Cassandra’s as awkward as ever, Dorian’s still funny, my respect for Blackwall has grown, Vivienne is… well, she’s Vivienne, and Varric’s still Varric despite his new position as Viscount.

Then there’s Sera. Oh, Sera. Maker bless you. Honestly, reading Sera’s journal as an elf who romanced Solas and then talking to her… Just wow. “She all right with the elfy stuff?” “It's all right! Maybe. Be there anyway.” It went from Sera laughing about your vallaslin being slave markings to her asking if you’re alright about learning that your gods aren’t gods, and then adding that she’s sorry Solas (who she hates) broke your heart and left you. WHO AM I TALKING TO RIGHT NOW? I originally hated Sera for hating Cole. Then I got to actually know her, and I fell in love with her character. Still, she could have acted a bit more mature. And now she is still so nonsensical and childish, but she’s a childish ADULT. Sera grew up, and I am so damn proud of her.

I love hearing Cole talk and say all of his strange, seemingly nonsensical stuff. After one particularly meaningful comment, I just kept clicking on him for a while to see if anything else clicked. The three Mass Effect references were heavy, especially the one about Charr and Ereba’s unborn child. I’m curious about who Cole needs to “help… to remember who he is”. I haven’t read Dragon Age: The Last Flight yet, so maybe it’s a reference to that?

Anyway, as for the comment that made me so curious about his dialogue in the first place: One of the times I clicked on him he said, “His friend had to die, because he thought they were people. The slow arrow breaks in the sad wolf's jaws.” Oh my gosh. I kid you not, when Cole said this I started crying. Crying. [EDIT: In my defense it had been a really long day] For those of you who don’t know, in one of the books, a character named Felassan (meaning “slow arrow” in the elven language) was Briala’s mentor. Briala got the eluvians working again, and created a password so that only she and her elven spies could use it. She was going to tell Felassan, but he didn’t want to hear it. Then he entered the Fade, 100% aware of what his fate would be. Because he loved Briala and had faith in her. Now the fact that Solas killed Felassan was always one of the biggest reasons I hated him, to be honest (his god-awful personality and disapproval of every goddamn thing I say or do didn’t help, either). I thought, “This guy’s an awful person. He killed Felassan like it was nothing. They’re just tools to Solas.” Then Cole said “his friend” and “the sad wolf”. I am actually crying as I write this. I don’t know what to think, honestly. People say, “it’s hard for Solas,” and I’m always like, “Fuck that,” but hearing those two things make a world of difference to me. Felassan wasn’t a tool to him, but he killed him anyways. Why? To make an example of him? And what hurts the most from this statement is the reasoning. “Because he thought they were people.” Felassan loved that woman as family, and she gave him hope for the world they lived in. With what Cole’s saying, does that mean Solas doesn’t even see the elves of today as people? I know that he doesn’t see them as his people, but as something even less than a person? That just irks me. Though it also REALLY says a lot about the Inquisitor as a person if Solas loves or respects them. [EDIT: Someone pointed out that, since what Cole said happened BEFORE Solas met the Inquisitor, he may have changed his mind. Only thing that makes me unsure of this is that Solas kept saying “my people” at the end, rather than “elves”.]

I reloaded several times to listen to what Cole had to say. Every time he mentioned Felassan and Solas I took off my headphones and said, “Nope, nope, nope, nope.”

Writing this after going into The Deep Roads:

UGH. That was extremely painful. That lag was AWFUL. I read manga and listened to music from Hamilton to pass the time it took for my Inquisitor to fulfill basic commands after I gave the orders. *clicks button to climb latter and listens to half of “Say No To This” before my Inquisitor actually climbs the damn thing* Though I love how, with all this terrible stuff going on and the immediate danger everyone is, my Inquisitor’s like, “Nah, let’s go explore this irrelevant eluvian that leads into a dark, empty cave first so I can kill high level demons and loot some useless shit.” Cuz priorities.

As for the quest itself, I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more if the lag hadn’t been there. I was surprised to learn the Qunari think that the Inquisition was working with Fen’Harel. I’m guessing their reasoning is because Solas was originally with us? Rana Thanoptis Jerran didn’t have much useful information. I was sad to see that unlike his predecessor, Jerran did not make it out alive after being allowed to escape. Asari: 1, humans: 0.

I heard bad things about Teagan, and I really wanted to be that one person who said, “Come on, guys. He’s not THAT bad,” but OH MY GOD, TEAGAN, WILL YOU SHUT UP FOR FIVE MINUTES? MY DALISH ASS NEVER WANTED TO BE INQUISITOR IN THE FIRST PLACE! THAT’S IT! CULLEN, YOU’RE THE HERALD OF ANDRASTE NOW! I’M OUT!

I wish I could just say, “Bitch, I am the Hero of Ferelden!” so that he would trust me, but alas, I am technically NOT the Hero of Ferelden anymore. The Hero of Ferelden is off… doing whatever it is he does. I don’t even know anymore. Looking for a cure? I’m hoping he’s back with his family.

With the tensions between the Inquisition and Ferelden so great, I sat there for a good three or so minutes trying to decide whether to detain “my” (got her true identity spoiled) soldier or the servant. I figured everyone hates me anyway and would blame me if hell broke loose after releasing the servant. Wine? You were carrying wine? In what just happens to look like the containers Qunari use to keep explosives? Yeah, I don’t think so.

I’m just trying to have some downtime from all my school work that I have to get done soon, and somehow my favorite video game series is managing to stress me out. Seriously, I don’t want to be the Inquisitor anymore. It sucks. This is so stressful that I feel like it’s going to take me another week before I actually manage to finish the DLC. At least I know I’m safe reading my manga. I’m experiencing some Black Lagoon level stress here. Though seriously, I started writing this whole thing about a week ago, and I’m done for the night and have school tomorrow, so I honestly think I’ll be finishing this DLC by the end of the month at the earliest. I just feel so uneasy playing it.

Companions: I took Sera, Cole and Cassandra with me. No dialogue of real significance that I noticed. Though I was, again, impressed with Sera. Cole talked to her and she didn’t freak out. He still clearly made her uncomfortable, but she wasn’t calling him a freak or anything. My girl’s grown up.

I never really bothered reading her notes in the main game, but I am now and they’re interesting. Something’s not normal with Sera. She’s never needed training for her bow, she can sense where the Veil is thin, and she drew a dog’s ear. I’m wondering what kind of dog’s ear. A floppy ear, or a wolf-like ear? I really hope that whatever Sera actually is will one day be explained, or perhaps another character like her will appear and it will be explained for them.

Anyway, I’m glad to get Sera’s insight on things (she seems to always have something to say about what’s going on), but I’d like to hear more from other companions.

Writing this after going into The Shattered Library:

Took me about a month to finish this part since I’ve been trying to find a time when I’m not working or on the verge of falling asleep to play the game. First of all: bonus points for Sandal’s journal. I can just picture him randomly wandering the Cross Roads with no particular destination in mind.

Maybe it’s because I didn’t play it all at once that the quest didn’t seem all that interesting to me. I’ll try doing it all at once on my secondary account.

Anyway, one thing I found very interesting was the spirit left to talk on behalf of the elven people, Ghil-Dirthalen. I found it reminiscent of Vigil from Mass Effect.

Meeting Viddasala was cool, I guess. It was kind of annoying that my only options were, “we don’t have to fight” (really, Inquisitor?), “the anchor isn’t a threat” (bitch, you’ve been in agonizing pain all day) and what was the third one? I don’t know, probably “fuck you” or something.

I found the codex entry where they talked about the Saarebas and it sounded very interesting. In southern society mages are abhorred, viewed as monsters, etc. But in the Qun, at least with people like the Viddasala, they don’t hate the mages at all. They don’t even see them as cursed. They don’t hate the mages, they hate the magic. It even seems like Viddasala actually has respect for them since they’re loyal to the Qun, putting their lives at risk and seem to understand the dangers of magic.

Then there was that final cutscene at Halamshiral. It got me really upset towards the end. I want to go and hug my companions because it really feels like our one last hurrah before we go out. Specifically, the Inquisitor. I mean, I know she doesn’t die, but damn it feels like she’s already dead.

Companions: My party was Blackwall, Dorian and Cole, and I definitely liked having them for this one. The dialogue was interesting, and I liked hearing the different views on the situations.

Dorian’s like, “Ancient magic, let’s play with it!” and Blackwall’s like, “Hell no.” Cole’s like, “Yay, no Veil!” and Dorian’s like, “Hell no.”

It was also pretty adorable seeing Cole so happy to learn that it’s okay for him to be in the real world. Though it was kind of heartbreaking when, while speaking of Solas, he said, “All new, faded for her.”

That little comment Ranier makes before entering the final eluvian was great, as were Dorian and Cole’s responses.

Meanwhile, Sera continues to impress me with her journal. That last sentence really got me. “I will make them know Ethera had HAS friends.” I feel like I just watched my kid graduate or something. I’m so proud of her.

I must admit I’m sad to see I don’t have one last chance to talk to my companions. After all, the Inquisitor thinks she’s going to DIE.

Writing this after going into The Darvaarad:

Well, shit. I knew what was going to happen, but that truth bomb Viddasala dropped still hurt. I can only imagine how much Cassandra would be beating herself up about that.

Then my Inquisitor was like, “Solas betrayed us, let’s save him!” I am amazed Cassandra didn’t beat the shit out of my Inquisitor right then and there. I do, and will always appreciate the little “easter egg” Weekes put in there; it’s so like Cole to be the only one on board with the Inquisitor.

I swear, when Viddasala said, “If it’s any consolation, Solas will not outlive you.” Well, thank you; actually, that DOES make me feel a little better. My Inquisitor is naïve, and I disagree with her immensely. Solas should die. You should stab him, and he should die. Then stab him again for good measure. Why do I make my Inquisitor have different views than me? Cuz roleplaying! My Warden had a happy ending, Hawke had a happy ending, so I was like, “Let’s balance it out. Romance Solas and make your Inquisitor miserable.” So far so good.

Anyway, that dragon was a pain in my ass, and I sincerely hope it is the final boss because this is getting old. Also, it was sad to see all those broken eluvians. So much history lost. Took Merrill like, seven years to fix just one. Hopefully Solas’ ancient magic can fix them. Well, he’s evil so actually I take that back.

Companions: Not much dialogue with the companions in this one, though I did like having Cassandra with me. She provided a little funny dialogue when we were searching in the library and she was like, “Is that a copy of Swords and Shields?” Focus, Cassandra. Focus.

Writing this after finishing Trespasser:

Shit.

That’s it. That’s all I have to say.

Seriously, though, that was some powerful stuff. The music got really intense towards the end, and I liked it. Seeing my Inquisitor step into the eluvian and find herself, shocked, in a maze of qunari statues. The look on her face was great, as was when she heard Solas (btw, that son of a bitch knows Qunlat, too? Talk about op). I could practically feel her desperation as she ran towards the sound of his voice.

I must admit, I was kind of disappointed with Viddasala’s “death”. It felt way too abrupt. I also would’ve liked an explanation as to why only my Inquisitor went through the eluvian. Obviously better for the story, but I would’ve liked to hear an in-game explanation as to why only she could enter.

Solas speaking so dismissively of Felassan made me want to punch him in the face, but you can’t fool me, buddy. Cole told me you were crying inside. Anyway, I guess him overriding the eluvians with his power is an adequate explanation for accessing them, if not slightly annoying. I honestly would’ve preferred one of his spies infiltrating Briala’s spies as opposed to, “Nah, I just got rid of the password cuz magic.”

Question: why does no one have any reaction whatsoever when I walk into the room and my freaking arm has been amputated? Is that not the least bit alarming? But damn, I’ve gotta hand it to the Inquisitor (no pun intended). I mean, you just cut that thing off, put a band-aid on it and went right back to business. That’s impressive.

The epilogues made me feel happy for my companions. They’ve all grown so much, and it just makes me feel so damn proud of them. Hurt to see Cole go back into the Fade, especially the significance of him leaving his hat behind. I wish Rhys knew that it all worked out for Cole in the end. I also loved seeing Aveline and Maevaris in the slides. I would have preferred they made it clear that Ranier dies as a Warden, though. If you romanced him it’s pretty obvious, but they didn’t even hint at it here. I only found out because someone told me.

I must admit, while I enjoyed the epilogues, not being able to speak with my companions one last time kind of made it feel like things didn’t quite get wrapped up. As for the Inquisitor’s epilogue: I didn’t cry during the confrontation with Solas, but I’ll admit the slide about the Inquisitor’s dreams got a few tears out of me.

As for the Elven Calling (that’s what I’m calling it, so there), I’m wondering just how much these elves know. Why help? I’m pretty sure Solas doesn’t give a shit about you. He doesn’t say he wants to help elves. He wants to help his people. All his spies are probably just pawns for him.

Bonus points for Scout Harding remaining to help the Inquisitor even after disbanding the Inquisition.

Conclusion: Purchasing Inquisition for a second time so that I could play the DLCs instead of just watching them on YouTube (thanks a lot, Xbox 360) was 100% worth it. For anyone who actually bothered reading all of my random thoughts, I thank you. You must have been very bored.

Also, I look forward to killing Solas in DA4.

Hear me out, hear me out on this, L I S T E N. I think… Kadota.

First off, I feel like Chikage’s is the one most prone to feel personally hurt about things. Like, Kadota would act cold towards him an entire day and Chikage’s already half angry, half upset.

But mostly, I headcanon Kadota as the kind of guy who would have a strong denial phase right off the bat about having feelings for another guy, especially a guy with three more girlfriends. More on the “no homo” side, more on the “wow, I cant believe we kissed, I was so drunk, man, weird” that would fuck up with Chikage’s feelings real badly.

who is emotionally stronger?Kadota. Chikage isnt weak, but his feelings are more volatile. I feel like Chikage is emotionally … braver, though.

who is physically stronger? They seem to be on equal level by the source material, but I think Kadota wins by a tiiiiiny, tiny margin.

who is more likely to break a bone? Rokujou is a R E CK L E S S Mthrfucker

who knows best what to say to upset the other? This one is interesting. Kadota is level headed and a little more experienced, and exactly because of that, he would know what to say to hurt Rokujou.And exactly because of that, he wouldnt.

who is most likely to apologise first after an argument? Chikage, surprisingly?? He’s abrasive and raises his voice easily but he would be the one to regret an argument quickly. Kadota, on the other hand is gonna probably be pissed for days that he even Had to argue about anything.

who treats who’s wounds more often? Kadota got the most hurt on canon, poor dude. But on a daily basis is definitely him the one patching up the reckless Gang Leader who just has to get into fights everyday to protect each and every girl he sees.

who is in constant need of comfort? Defs Rokujou, even though he usually goes for his girlfriends on that one. Kadota will eventually and slowly learn how to pick up the signs about his bf’s feelings.

who gets more jealous? Kadota feels like he pretty much gave up on the right to be jealous when he decided to date a casanova whos already on a poly relationship with at least four other girls. With that said, it doesnt mean he doesnt feels jealous from time to time, especially if Chikage approaches other dudes. Kyouhei would like to feel exclusive at least on this, so if Rokujou could please keep it in his pants…Chikage on the other hand is just not a jealous soul, or at least he thinks himself so.

who’s most likely to walk out on the other? Chikage stoms off out of their apartment pretty easily during fights, but I feel like Kadota would be the one to try and run at the point he realizes he and Chikage became serious. Like the “oh shit, no” realization hitting him when they both wake up together. It’s very short lived though, and he would face himself and inevitably come back.

who will propose? Rokujou. And oooh, he would be torturing himself on that entire week, scared of hearing a “no”, afraid of losing Kyouhei, afraid of losing the ring! (he would), and trying to come up with the most romantic scenario. At some point, it would finally hit him that Kadota literally never cared about any of that stuff and its the act that matters. Then, on a breath of inspiration, he would find himself kneeling in front of the bed, in which Kadota is slowly waking up. In short, just picture Kyouhei, at 6 am, grumpily rubbing his eyes to see his boyfriend, full of bandages on his face, with bedhair and wearing no shirt. At his knees, in front of him. Holding a ring.

who has the most difficult parents? No idea, but maybe Kyouhei? Idk why but I headcanon Rokujou’s mother as a Saint.I think Kadota’s family would be harder to please or to gain trust.

who initiates hand-holding when they’re out in public? Rokujou to Kyouhei’s public embarassment.

who comes up for the other all the time? Kadota Kyouhei is The Most R E L I A B L E boyfriend you could ever have by your side, on any problem and on any gang fight, stop taking applications now, this man is the one. But Chikage doesnt disappoint, either.

who hogs the blankets? ChikageRokujou will hog the blankets the entire night, drool on your sheets, drink your cofee and steal your coat before walking out of your door without so much as a thank you or a sorry. But with plenty of smiles.

who gets more sad? Chikage. Just… volatile emotions, why cant he have Kyo’s trust?? is he stronger than Kyo??? Does Kyouhei loves him back?? etecetera. He probably also gets drunker.

who is better at cheering the other up? Kyouhei is pretty good at his solemn kind of way of cheer someone up, being the stable part of a relationship in which his partner and friends can rely on, with his “Ill make you some tea… or maybe some hot chocolate” and “whatever happens, Ill always be here, got it?” and asking them if they wanna talk about it.

Rokujou is pretty good at his clownish way of cheering his partner up, with his smiles and innapropriate jokes and “Guess whos here?? Your favorite person! So Stop frowning!” and “I’ll beat up who made you sad, in a heartbeat! Just say the word! Was it me?? Ill beat myself up!”

who’s the one that playfully slaps the other all the time after they make silly jokes? Both! Mostly Kadota, but Rokujou gets to do that too after Kadota gets more confortable to talk about their relationship.

who is more streetwise? Rokujou wins this only by a tiiiiny bit. Theyre both very streetwise but Rokujou has the natural charm and malice Kyohei never possessed.

who is more wise? Kyohei, for sure. I feel like he only loses being streetwise for Chikage exactly because he’s wiser, and always has in mind what really matters out of the things in life.

who’s the shyest? Kadota Kyohei is still not ready to talk about his boyfriend, repeating, Kadota Kyohei is still not ready to talk about his boyfriend; no, Not even for you, Erika, it doesnt matter how many BL mangas youve read, put that stuff down!

who boasts about the other more? Not a single citizen in Saitama missed the opportunity of hearing Chikage Rokujou brag about his boyfriend and how hard he can punch! Have you heard about it yet?? Cuz he wont let you walk out until he can TELL YOU ABOUT IT! He would boast about Kadota for the exact wrong reasons.

who sits on who’s lap? “For the last time, Chikage-san, there’s enough space for you here, this is a V A N, so if you could please get out of Kadota’s lap and join Karisawa and Walker on the backseat…” “CUZ U’RE DISTRACTING ME, THAT’S WHY, I CAN T DRIVE LIKE THAT!”

Why i hate Naruto, SPECIALLY SasuSaku

The following will be my opinion so if you can’t accept other people’s opinions, please move the fuck along. If you want to fight me at least bring solid evidence. Thank you 😊.

Many times I’ve been told to watch Naruto, i tried, belive me, i did. I started the original and i got bored and annoyed by all the characters except Kakashi. Sakura is annoying, Sasuke was too emo, and Naruto was a brat. I didn’t watch after episode 8 cuz i fell asleep halfway. Then, a friend was like, skip it and start with Shippuden, so i did. I didn’t understand shit so i dropped it. However, since it’s so mainstream, i pretty much know the basics. I liked the relationship between Naruto and Hinata cuz she was cute and she had an obvious crush on him since episode 1, but i didn’t really know much about it. Fast forward about 4 years and I’ve seen/read around 100 anime/manga titles, I’m more experienced with romance and I’m more knowledgeable about my own and others sexuality and genders. I’ve slowly read about the moments between Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura. I began to realize that Sakura could do better, Sasuke had no interest in her, SPECIALLY not romantically. He’s abusive towards her and treats her like shit. I don’t really like Sakura but she doesn’t deserve what she got, she deserves better. Yes i ship NaruSasu, but because, as far as I’ve read/seen about the two, they have more chemistry than NaruHina and SasuSaku COMBINED X10. Most of the plot of this show is Naruto looking for Sasuke and trying to bring him back even knowing he has hurt his “friends” and was basically working for a cult. SasuSaku is an abusive relationship where Sakura gave up everything for Sasuke and he just leaves her and his daughter to fend for themselves and is gone for 10 years!!!!! I don’t know the trauma some children face if they are missing a father figure since I’m a wierd person who had more than 3 step dads before the age of 10 and is not affected because my grandpa is my one and only father figure, but I’m sure that Sarada probably has some trauma. And i can’t even begin to imagine Sakura. The poor girl married an over emotional sociopath who is most likely either gay, bisexual, or just ace. I mean i imagine they had to fuck at least once since, you know, Sarada is a thing, but i cannot imagine how bad she most be feeling. He was gone for 10 years!! That’s worse than going off to war. This shit is worse than the bleach ending, where at least Renji and Rukia had chemistry and Ichigo might or might not like Orihime but they also fucked at last once so fuck it. But seriously, i prefer to be alone forever than have a relationship like SasuSaku. It’s stupid, it’s abusive, and has no chemistry. It’s like those relationships where the man is like “ugh, my wife never shuts up, i don’t care what you did with your life, so shut up and make me a sandwich.” I’ll repeat, it’s annoying, it’s wrong, and it’s abusive. I’m not going to read a story where female characters are thrashed and thrown off, leaving them as unimportant characters that can’t fend for themselves. You want a story with great female characters and no forced romance between characters just because “a boy and a girl cannot just stay friends” read one piece! Nami and Robin are amazing and unique and have never been damsels in distress because they are strong and independent and have dreams they want to accomplish. They are three dimensional characters who you can relate to and feel for. What would i have done with Sakura as a character? I would have made her realize that she deserved better, either give her someone who will love her and respect her or leave her alone as a strong independent woman she should have become. Thank you and I’m sorry for the long rant, i really, really hate Naruto.

this is completely unprompted but i just feel like sharing my first impressions of mp100 cuz why not i made this blog to infodump i can do what i want.

and honestly i read the whole thing about a year ago with very very little spoilers directly after watching the teaser for the anime so a lot of my reactions to the series were very raw and uninfluenced by anybody else’s opinion. i didnt even liveblog it i just read it. and im very glad that was how i read it and im just. reminiscing on that because im grateful that i did that back then.

mob

i first ever saw mob in some fanart that was tagged mob psycho 100 like. a good few years ago tbh. i figured it was some anime or manga i didnt get the time to read but mob first looked to me like he was a delinquent or something. the title and the way i thought abt the word “mob” in my head def had something to do with that, but also he was a straight faced boy who just seemed really seirous. i remember reading in an interview abt one punch man a bit over a year ago that ONE described saitama as stoic and mob as emotional. that. surprised the hell out of me and got me interested but i only read literally EXACTLY right after i saw the first teaser trailer for the anime

when i read the manga i fell in love with the boy right away. it didnt take me long at fucking all. he was great and wonderful and i loved him and i related to him big time and i wanted to see him grow more and more.

and my feelings are pretty much the same now except more complex. but im remembering the first time i got to the end of the world domination arc. i think that line “that’s why I will help you” really impacted me a lot for some reason. mob was, very special to me. he felt very much like me. i could relate to him a lot

reigen

i first saw reigen in some fanart but i thought he was some teenager at first because it was just some kinda cartoony fanart that wasnt very detailed. i guessed that he and mob were a duo or something like saitama and genos were from one punch but i did not guess that it was going to be a master-discible relationship

i hated reigen at first gonna be completely fuckin honest here i was a bit annoyed with him like yeah he was funny but he was also kind of rude??? and i didnt like that he was tricking mob because i loved mob

by the end of the read he really did grow on me. but ive always been a bit hard on the poor guy, but thats just because hes an adult i suppose. even during the separation arc i have to admit.....i wasnt all that sympathetic toward him until the VERY VERY end. IF IM BEING ENTIRELY HONEST I WAS KIND OF GLAD BECAUSE I WAS GLAD THAT MOB REALIZED HE DIDNT NEED HIM AND THAT REIGEN REALIZED HE DID. also i felt he did deserve at least some of what he got from that arc, all things considered. dont get me wrong, i love him now but it did really take a while for me, probably longer than anyone else i know. now im love this greasman with my whole heart (but i still wish he would pay mob more. preoblematic fav for that reason only)

dimple

i knew that dimple was sort of the mascot character but i hoped he wouldnt be one of those annoying ones but i didnt think he would be since i had some faith in ONE’s writing abilities. he seemed like a ghost and i knew that mp100 had ghosts so yeah i thought it was cool to have a ghost character why not

lots of ppl were irritated by dimple at first but. ehhh i could never hate him. i only mildly disliked him before i realized he was That Guy. anyway i had been mostly neutral on dimple but by the mogami arc i actually really started loving dimple a lot because he saved mob a bunch of times and i support mob having friends i dont care who they are i want this good boy to have friends

by the end i absolutely did love him i loved him and reigens interractions at that point but i didnt know if it was like. socially acceptable to ship him with reigen. i wouldnt have done it with sg dimple because i had no idea that was even a thing. i forgot abt that dumbass security guard he wasnt even a person in my mind honestly the first sg dimple fanart i came across i was so confused i was like. who is this. who is this man dimples possessing. took me forever to realize it was that security guard who he possessed for probably less than an hour and that confused the hell out of me but then i realized. oh. u guys just want to make him hot. okay

ritsu

ritsu was probably the character i knew the most about, but i knew very little. i only saw him in opm/mp100 fanarts where they compared mob and ritsu to tatsumaki and fubuki, and i guessed that ritsu was the fubuki with the inferiority complex. and i was right but it wasnt it quite the same way. but overall he seemed interesting in that regard since i loved fubuki at the time so he was a character i was looking forward to.

ritsu was...it was love at first sight??? yeah. i loved ritsu so much right from the start i loved how he was introduced i loved his character arc i loved the whole way it was presented if the teru arc just before that hadn’t already hooked me then his arc sure as fuck did.

the last line i ever saw ritsu utter when i finally caught up with the manga was the famous “hnn...the loans” line. perhaps one of the best lines of all time??? i loved ritsu and since i knew fuck abt shit wrt what was going to happen in the scar arc i was literally about to cry when it was revealed he might be dead god. i was SO STRESSED IN THAT WHOLE FUCKING ARC I DONT THINK I HAD EVER BEEN MORE STRESSED IN MY LIFE.

teru (oh boy)

i first saw teru in the first teaser. i think that was actually the thing that made me want to read it, mostly because the animation and movement in that scene just was so. good. and flowing. he seemed like a villain to me, or some sort of rival. but a harmless one. one that couldn’t fucking touch mob. it sort of reminded me of the thing w/ saitama vs sonic in opm. he seemed like an asshole, but for some reason in my heart when i saw him doing that shit there, i felt like i would like him. i had no basis for this. but i cant believe i was right

when i first saw teru in the manga i was gettin all excited because “hey this looks like the esper kid in the teaser!” and i was excited to see a new character like that introduced. i at least wanted to meet another esper. and teru seemed like the type of villain who would get his ass handed to him in the worst of ways and realize that mob was much much stronger than him and maybe hed even gain some respect for it and i fucking called it i cant believe it i called it in the first page i saw him i fuckign CALLED IT. and i was screaming throughout his whole arc. every second i found myself absolutely falling in love with him and. actually. unfortunately understanding exactly where he was coming from. and once mob went on the whole “you’re just like me” speech, that was probably the defining moment.

but it didnt stop with that arc at ALL. every gotdam second he was on screen after that i was honestly thinking in my head “stop doing that ur gonna be my fav if u keep doing that!” but he kept doing that and wound up being my fav and i loved how much he believed and supported mob and i loved how different and yet how similar he was from the first time we see him and. i couldnt help myself hes my Type. i was destined to fall for him from the start

I HAD NO PREVIOUS INTRODUCTION TO SHOU BEFORE I READ THE SERIES. HE WAS NOT ANYONE TO ME. HE WAS NOTHING. which was why so much of the claw stuff surprised me tbh. but yeah i had no idea who this kid was i had not been introduced to him

when i first saw shou i disliked him for beating up ritsu and capturing him and mob and i also disliked him for calling mob a coward and THEN i disliked him for burning down mobs house and possibly killing ritsu and his family in fact by that point i was seeing red i wanted that fuckr DEAD. but then it was revealed that everyone was safe but i was still a bit peeved that he did what he did to mob just to leave a “fuse” but i was also projecting a bit because shou almost gave me a fucking HEART ATTAKC and i was NOT GOING TO EASILY FORGIVE. i did forgive tho. eventually. after my poor heart calmed down and i saw him get beat up by his dad and his hubris

at the end i shipped ritshou because obviously i shipped ritshou i mean how can u not i mean theyre just really good i shipped it

so like yeah
