if the zorlok cast were bg3 characters, what would they be and what kind of decisions would they make?
I'm assuming you mean who they would be in BG3 and not what kind of characters they would play. Also, hmm, don't want to give away spoilers here, so if you look below the cut you can see what I think they'd be up to (just beware of spoilers).
Tommy: Human, Level 9 Warlock (Fiend + Chain) / Level 3 Bard (Valour)
Dev: Wood Elf, Level 11 Rogue (Thief) / Level 1 Warlock (Archfey)
EJ: Human, Level 12 Sorcerer (Wild Magic)
Adam/Eve: High Elf, Level 7 Cleric (War) / Level 5 Paladin (Vengeance)
Lucía: Half-Elf (Wood), Level 7 Ranger (Gloomstalker) / Level 5 Rogue (Assassin)
Ciel: Lightfoot Halfling, Level 6 Barbarian (Wildheart) / Level 6 Druid (Moon)
Danny: Drow (Seldarine), Level 9 Paladin (Oathbreaker) / Level 3 Warlock (Fiend + Blade)
The Celestial: Aasimar Forest Gnome, Level 10 Wizard (Transmutation) / Level 2 Cleric (Knowledge)
Rose: Human, Level 12 Bard (Lore)
[Beware of Spoilers Below!]
Tommy
Not romancing anyone (obviously, he's 15)
Best friends with Wyll, Karlach, and Gale. Shadowheart is too cool for him, he's way too intimidated by her. Lets Astarion do whatever the hell he wants. Lae'zel scares the shit out of him. Adopted by Halsin the moment he meets him.
Just wants to hang out with the cool tiefling kids
Very easily persuaded by Raphael. Wyll and Karlach are constantly trying to talk some sense into him.
Aylin is the coolest person he's ever met
Sobbing his way through the horrors of Faerûn—I can see him in a little crumple at Withers feet, blowing his nose on Withers' decaying robes as bone daddy breaks the fourth wall and stares into the camera miserably
Eventually hardens into a truly terrifying force to be reckoned with (Karlach is very proud)
Tommy has two hands, one for Scratch and one for the owlbear
Dev
Romancing non-Ascended Astarion and fucking Halsin occasionally, Lae'zel and Shadowheart are xyr besties (xe forces them to get along), Gale amuses the hell out of xem, Wyll and Dev are constantly trying to one up each other's stories
It's either Ethel or Volo, whoever xe comes across first, but that eye's out of xyr head comically fast
Just wants to talk shit with Withers all day, hates that he never has much to say to xem
Wants to kick the shit out of Rolan but keeps saving his life somehow
Always covered in blood. Like it doesn't make sense half the time. How did that much blood splatter on xem? Why is it still on xem?
EJ
Absolutely head over heels in love with Gale, friends with and trying to fix everyone, Astarion terrifies them but they won't give up on him, they know there's a good person hiding beneath that veneer
Panicked and accidentally yeeted a gnome
Tried a tadpole once, wasn't for them
Holding Gale's hand and squinting through every dark space
Sleeps cuddling the owlbear and is always covered in feathers
Adam/Eve
In a relationship with Lae'zel, didn't get along at first but Laez grew to respect A/E and A/E was charmed by Lae'zel's... strengths. Shadowheart is their sister, hates it when the girls are fighting. Friends with Gale and Karlach. Doesn't trust Wyll fully. Never let Astarion join them. Immediately enamored with Halsin but Lae'zel is... stronger.
Normally out of spell slots cause they're terrified of long resting
Loves potions and alchemy, will stop every 30 meters to pick yet another sprig of balsam
Doesn't make deals with villainous beings. Doesn't trust any voices in their head. Doesn't respect any gods they come across.
Loviatar loves them
Lucía
In a relationship with Karlach, best friends with her and Wyll, had a crush on Shadowheart before meeting Karlach, never liked/trusted Astarion and staked him the minute he tried to put his fangs on her throat, Jaheira is her idol, probably left Lae'zel to die (cause she didn't want to upset Shadowheart)
Speaks to every single animal, picks every single lock, looks in every single barrel, fails almost every charisma check
Scratch is always by her side
Will go to Hell for her besties 😉🥲
Ciel
Dating Shadowheart, really close with Astarion and Minthara... But, seriously, they have a big redemption arc. They grow and change alongside Shadowheart, both goth edgelords are completely changed by the end
Starts the game eating every tadpole (like the Guardian barely has to suggest the idea, it's already in their mouth) but goes one step too far and suddenly becomes terrified of what it means to be monstrous(/illithid)
Diplomacy? Ha. Sorry, that's not for them. They only like talking to animals and corpses.
Loves permanently seeing invisibility...
A loot goblin, their high strength score is great for fighting and jumping and shit, but mostly for the increased carrying capacity
Mol is their idol
Danny
I'm honestly not sure who they'd be in a relationship with, I think they'd be close with everyone but I don't think they'd be in a headspace for anything more than friendship over the course of the game, maybe after the fact they'd grow closer with Shadowheart but that would just be my headcanon, they wouldn't romance anyone (no matter how much Withers mocks them for it)
They are doing everything they think is right in the moment, though they'd regret rash actions later
They empathize greatly with the undead and hate people like Balthazar who twist them to their will
No one threatens a child in their presence. Well, no one who's still alive.
They cannot pretend to be under the Absolute's thumb, they are going in swinging every time, no chance for diplomacy or manipulation
They pick up a teddy bear early on and it never leaves their inventory
The Celestial
In a physical relationship with Halsin, slept with Astarion but now they're just very good friends, sees Karlach, Wyll, and Shadowheart as eir children, loves and is very intrigued by Lae'zel, doesn't like Gale at all (cannot and will not trust a wizard like him)
Always has the Disguise Self spell going, and it's always a different disguise
Eir traveler's chest is filled with the weirdest collection of random shit you've ever seen: noble portraits, rotten eggs, gold chalices, a couple goblin corpses, poutine, 30 mindflayer tadpoles, etc.
Chats with every corpse, even the ones ey killed
Lorroakan can (and does) eat shit
Despises everything about Orin, zero redeemable qualities—even her shapeshifting, eugh, it's so... crude, no grace or skill
The moment the Celestial learns Otto's Irresistible Dance is the last moment Faerûn knows peace
Rose
In a passionate romance with Wyll but he's very good friends with everyone (they are all his children)
Does everything within his power to avoid violence. Will charm, sing, and sneak his way across Faerûn
Adopts every child and animal he comes across
The hardest thing he has to do is tell people to stay in camp. Why can't everyone always be in his party? They all make him feel so bad...
Always taking long rests (doesn't want people being tired or hurt) and spends an hour cooking a delightful meal with Gale every night

“Waa~ I did not expect to see you again in this city! I still remember when you’re barely half of my height the last time I saw you…”
“It’s so good to see you again, after so long…”
“Now, how about a little hug from an old friend?”

SCARLETT - The wandering Elf 🌹 A certain elf who has the soul of an adventures looking for his new home in every timeline he goes. He won't stop until he found a place that he could call 'home'.
Scarlett, the wandering elf or the red sweetheart, as some people call him. He is known to be the most optimist person in Eridia, and he is... an unexpected person. He sometimes gone just like that, and come back so suddenly without any warnings. Sometimes, when he came back, he always bring new stuff with him that he got from other timeline.
He arrived in Eridia in a very unfortunate way. And due a few stuff, he got caught by the senobium people and chained him just like how they do towards Vere. Surprisingly, Vere and Scarlett get a long pretty well.
But somehow with a…. few tricks, he escape. And that experience is already made him to have a bad impression to the senobium.
(That detail is for other time).
Pronouns: He/him Birthday: May 5 Height: 5’9/176 cm (Taller due heels)
Personality: Optimistic risk taker with a calm demeanor. Scarlett is a person who doesn’t hesitate to take the risky road/decisions, nor did he care if his life is on the line. Though, even how dangerous his decisions can be, he tend to be… so calm about it. Like, it’s not the ‘riskiest’ thing he did. He is an optimist guy who always try to think positively and lighten up gloomy moods.
Likes: Animals, dancing, cooking, art, the color of red, roses, spicy dishes, jokes Dislikes: Seeing others in a negative situation, witches, the senobium, being alone. Fatal Flaw: Gets out of control once anger takes over him. Other: He sometimes dress up as one of his favorite characters in his room and talk to himself while he is at it, he is also good at playing instruments.
Full body

More about Scarlett:
Believe me when I say that he is 50+ years old.
Well, you did just see the text above that he goes to many different timeline to look for this place called “home”
He had learn this magic that could turn himself to a child size.
He had a bad experience with witches. Since they played the biggest part in his past.
He is also fast. If you see a red thing coming from afar in a full speed, don’t be scared, it’s probably just Scarlett.
Red rose. That flower is already explaining a lot about Scarlett, from its meaning, and appearance, and most of his power are related to this flower.
He often calls people with affectionate nickname such as sweetheart, hunny, dear, and etc.
A big fan of Romance… he loves the word ‘Love’
He can be sarcastic if he's in bad mood.
His sense of humor is... well, he'll laugh at a joke if he thinks it's funny enough.
Maybe, the reason why he doesn’t like seeing other people miserable or in any negative situations is because he could see himself in their position.
Scarlett also doesn’t like being alone. So, if someone that he consider as a friend, he will cling to them. And no, you can't escape from his grasp.
Let's just say... he had known the TS MC for a long time.
The necklace on his neck is no ordinary accessories that he use in daily basis, but rather a gift from a friend long time ago.
One more thing…
Even a sweetheart like him held a few secrets that he kept for himself. Well, maybe one day he would found someone he could trust with his secrets.
Tumblr media
Yeah, I decided to delete the previous post. 🌹🌹🌹
If you're still curious about him, you could ask me and see if I could answer them.

Session 4: ???
When I started this session, it had already been two months
I had to recap everything we did in this campaign because it was so long since we last played. Also, I forgot which day we played it; so sorry. But blame the past me, not the present me. I am cooler than my pathetic past self.
Where we last left off…
A group of random people was hired by Gundren Rockseeker, a Dwarf miner in the city of Neverwinter, to deliver some goods. They picked up an Elf pirate along the way, and he agreed to help them on their adventures. They were suddenly ambushed by Goblins and were almost killed, but they managed to fend off the hoard with only one death in the party. The group made their way to Phandalin, where they learned that Gundren never made it there. After some intel search and a restock of supplies, the party head back to the road where they were previously attacked and found a hidden trail that led to a cave. In this cave were countless foes preparing for the day that a stupid adventurer, who screamed and gave away their position, may fall into their devastating traps. The adventures failed; they failed miserably in retrieving anything except their lives. The party returned to Phandalin in the late evening, returning to the local inn where they sat and debriefed about the events at Cragmaw Cave. The little bunny rabbit said they couldn’t handle this; It was too dangerous, and they needed to rethink their life choices. Four adventures are sitting at the table now. What would you like to do?
During this session
The party of four (Shmalon, Shatter, Vulth, and Galloway) were planning their next move to go into the Cragmaw cave.
Then, two adventures snooped over their conversation and asked what they were discussing.
Octavio and Gromit introduced themselves to the group and wanted to help as long as they were willing to split the treasures.
Octavio was a suave Half-Elf Bard, while Gromit was a deranged Dwarf Barbarian.
The party gathered supplies (again) and headed off to Cragmaw cave.
They were able to fight through the cave with nothing fascinating happening.
They were able to save Sildar Hallwinter and traumatized/enslaved a poor little Goblin nicknamed Squiggy.
Once they returned to Phandalin, they drank and cheered for their successes. But they were not even close to finishing their mission, which was what again? Oh right! Find Gundren.

Knickers - Part 03 - Yellow Knickers 💛
.
Yellow?
Fucking yellow?
She didnt have yellow knickers, she didnt have yellow anything and it wasnt like she could stroll into Hogsmeade and buy a pair.
Hermione pulls out her drawer of knickers, for a girl who didnt get it on much, she had a drawer full of colourful undies, one must always feel good in what covers your twat.
She gingerly picks up a scanty almost see through black pair of knickers, well, they would have to do.
Placing the pair on the bed, she reaches for her wand and waves it over the undergarment, the colour instantly changes from black to dark yellow.
Hermione grins, it looks better than she expected.
H : "Not bad..."
She flops down on the bed and thinks of Malfoy's cock for what seemed like the hundredth time that day.
The fucker had no shame in just whipping it out in front of her, his crass boldness turned her on, he didn't care to tip toe around her as if she would shatter into a million pieces.
Her toes curl with wanting, he would widen her nicely, she had always been told she was tight.
Damn that bloody Malfoy cock.
*******
T : "The fuck man."
B : "Don't you get sick of losing?"
T : "You're cheating, I know it."
B : "Its wizards chess, you just suck."
T : "I have to meet Luna but once I'm back, I want a bloody rematch."
B : "Let's make it interesting, care to place a bet?"
T : "10 Galleons?"
B : "My house elf makes 10 times that, you bloody cheapskate."
T : "Later."
B : "Use protection, we don't want crummy chess players being added to the population."
T : "Fuck you, Zabini."
Draco walks in towelling his hair
B : "Ah, want to grab a butter beer?"
D : "Sure, mate."
Throws a bottle at Draco and he catches it expertly.
D : "So, whats the name of the new broad?"
B : "Patil..."
D : "Nice."
B : "Is Weasley still banging Granger?"
D : "Haven't a clue."
B : "She's looking rather fine this year."
Draco tightens his hold on the bottle and takes a long swig.
Blaise didnt know the half of it.
The next morning
T : "Fuck, are you ready to leave?"
D : "Yeah, I've got some, unm...work to do."
What he wanted to do was claim his seat in the Great Hall before someone else did.
B : "Well, I'm ready, I'll come with you, Theo, do hurry up bitch."
T : "Yeah, yeah, I'm hurrying."
They walk into the Great Hall and find it half full.
A bunch of 3rd years are sitting in Draco's usual place.
The blonde towers over the younger students and hisses darkly.
D : "Move, now!"
The adolescent boys trip over themselves in their haste to get up.
"Yes, Mr Malfoy, sir."
"Right away."
"So sorry."
Blaise and Draco slide into the seat.
B : "I think the tall one wet his pants."
D : "Respect, Blaise, must be taught when young."
B : "Theres a fine line between respect and bullying."
D : "Potato, potahto."
B : "Why the fuck do you keep looking at the entrance?"
D : "For Nott, ofcourse."
Blaise raises a brow and grins.
B : "Sure you are..."
Hermione links her arm through Ron's and he whispers a funny joke into her ear, she throws her head back in laughter.
From across the hall she can feel steely grey eyes watching her every movement.
She locks eyes with the ice blonde and bites her lip.
Settling down in her usual spot, Hermione looks at Draco through hooded eyes and challenges him.
Draco smirks, fucking showtime.
He's about to drop something when a voice cuts into his train of thought.
PS : "Mr Malfoy."
Fuck..
D : "Yes, Professor Slughorn?"
PS : "Come with me, boy, I need your rather unique potion making skills."
Come on, no, no...
D : "Now?"
Slughorn raises a brow.
PS : "Yes, now..."
Draco glances at Hermione desperately.
Did the old codger have to fuck up his morning?
Draco weakly protests
D : "But sir, I'm um..hungry."
Hungry for Grangers cunt.
PS : "Now! Before I start deducting points off Slytherin."
The bloody bastard.
Draco gets to his feet
D : "Fine."
Hermione looks on in disappointment, brings her legs together and watches Malfoy trail after Slughorn miserably.
The fuming Slytherin throws a look of annoyance her way before exiting the hall after the potions master.
Draco misses his first two lessons because of Slughorn's potions emergency, he is still at it when his year piles into the classroom.
He wipes his brow and looks up, Hermione grins and pats the seat next to her suggestively.
It wouldn't do to openly sit next to the Gryffindor without a bunch of questions being asked.
Draco coughs to distract everyone else and shakes his head, Hermione frowns, rolls her eyes and pulls out her books.
PS : "Good job, Mr Malfoy."
Draco replies in frustration.
D : "Yeah, no problem, Professor."
He gathers this things and sits next to Theo.
The class drones on and by the end of it Draco has dozed off more than once.
Theo nudges him and hisses.
T : "For fuck sake, get up."
The class ends and the exhausted students leave the dungeons and make their way to lunch before the next round of classes start.
Hermione studiously avoids Draco, she wouldn't go to him, let him come to her.
Refusing to sit with her, who the bloody hell did he think he was?
She steps into the abandoned girls bathroom to fix her hair and wash the tiredness off her face.
It takes but a second.
The door opens, closes with a bang and a heavy firm body presses up against her back.
Shocked at first, Hermione reaches for her wand but she looks up to see Draco grinning smugly at her.
She turns around and shoves him
H : "What the fuck do you think you're doing?"
D : "Isn't it obvious?"
H : "This is the girls lavatory."
D : "I'm aware."
H : "Get away from me, you pervert."
D : "I haven't seen your knickers today, Granger."
H : "And you're not going to see them now."
D : "Oh, I beg to differ."
He places firm hands on her waist, lifts her and settles her on the counter.
Hermione lashes out
H : "Have you lost your damn mind?"
Draco winks.
D : "Possibly."
Hermione tries to hop down.
H : "I'm not playing this bloody game."
Draco holds her in place, his long fingers brush gently along her skin and edge upwards.
He pushes up the school skirt so it bunches around her waist and stares at the bright yellow undie hugging her pussy lips, outlining every dip and curve.
Draco swallows hard, up close she looks absolutely breathtaking.
H : "There, you saw them, are you satisfied?"
D : "Immensely, yellow might be my new favourite colour."
H : "Very funny, now let me go."
D : "Not so fast, pet."
He runs a long finger down her material covered slit.
Hermione gasps and a involuntary moan escapes her full lips.
She comes back to her senses and scolds.
H : "Stop it, anyone could walk in."
Draco rolls his eye, waves his wand and distinctive click echoes through the quiet bathroom.
He grins mischievously.
D : "Problem solved."
He continues to rub enticing circles around the flesh of her inner thighs.
D : "I wonder if you taste as good as you look."
H : "You wouldn't..."
D : "Oh, I would and you will love it."
He peels down her panties, leaving a trail of fire where his fingers touch her skin.
Draco puts Hermione smooth legs over his shoulders and bends to give her exposed cunt a quick lick.
Hermione gasps as he delves inside her with the tip of his tongue.
He gives her clit a quick flick and proceeds to eat her out generously.
Holy fuck, was Malfoy licking her cunt?
Oh, so good, so bloody good.
D : "You taste divine, let's see what makes you come."
Hermione's breathing elevates, she surrenders to the blonde licking her to glory.
The noises he makes as he moves his tongue echo in her head and fuel her pending release.
H : "Malfoy...."
D : "Wet, so fucking wet."
They have 4 minutes and 26 seconds before their next class.
Draco figures he needs 3 minutes tops to fuck her with his talented tongue and feel her orgasm on it.
D : "You taste fucking amazing."
He parts her pussy lips with his tongue again and begins to lap at her eager wetness.
Moving slowly, he uses the tip of his tongue to circle her ever receptive bud.
His tongue slips and he's rewarded with a loud moan.
Ah, so that's the spot.
Draco relentlessly tongues Hermione till she squirms.
He wants to look at her, keeping up his ministrations he braved a look at the witch whispering his name.
She was shuddering above him, her body wracked in pleasure.
Head thrown back, wild curls around her face, fuck...she looked stunning.
Her eyes closed, thighs spread wide and hands massaging her breasts and pinching her nipples.
This was a sight he could get used to.
H : "There, oh fuck...don't stop..."
H : "Oh...mm...I'm going to come."
Music to his ears, he takes her swollen bud between his lips and sucks hard.
D : "Let go, baby."
Hermione lets out a cry, grabs a fistful of Draco's hair and comes crashing down around him.
Only after she rode her high and stilled did he wipe her dripping juices off his chin and get to his feet.
H : "Well, that was..."
She hopes off the counter and attempts to stand on wobbly legs.
Draco licks his cum stained lips and grins.
D : "Something else."
H : Yes, something else.
Draco muses .
D: "And we havent even kissed yet."
Post orgasm bliss aside, Hermione asks.
H : "Why didn't you sit next to me? Do you still think me dirty?"
Dirty, was the woman mad? She fucking came in his mouth and he couldn't believe the words that were coming out of her mouth.
Draco pulls Hermione close and kisses her.
The kiss is no gentle exchange between lovers, its hard, fast and demanding
He pries her stubborn lips open with his tongue and slips it in to seek the inner sweetness, they grab onto each other fighting for dominance, until, she breaks free and surfaces for air.
Draco nibbles on the heated flesh of her neck and whispers.
D : "That's your cum you taste on my tongue, do you honestly believe your blood status means fuck all to me?"
He places a tender kiss to her lips
D : Actually, I wanted to spare you the embarrassment of mingling with an ex Death Eater.
Hermione shoves him playfully.
H : "Sod it, sit with me tomorrow."
D : "You dig your own grave, Granger."
A distinctive tent decorated Draco's trousers, he cups the bulge and adjusts his painfully hard erection.
H : "Oh, you're still hard, let me..."
D : "We don't have time."
Hermione's face falls in disappointment and Draco smirks.
D : "Don't worry about it, you can make up for it tomorrow."
Draco picks up the discarded yellow knickers and pockets them.
D : "I'm keeping these by the way."
H : "You cant be serious?"
D : "I rather enjoy the thought of you walking about the castle knickerless."
H : "You fucking smug prat."
D : "Blue is my favourite colour, Granger."
Draco lifts the spell and walks out.
Funny, she would've bet her left tit that it was black.

Phasmophobia
Danny was very sick of tourists coming to explore Amity park. Like very sick of them, especially the ‘ghost hunter’ ones. In the end they just caused more problems than the actual ghosts, getting in the way of the fights causing Danny more stress and injuries than normal. Not to mention they sucked at their so called jobs. He was pretty sure even a single elementary schooler of Amity was a better ghost fighter than all of the tourists combined.
But at the moment it was the dead of winter and probably one of the coldest weeks of the year. So only the stupidest of self proclaimed ghost hunters would venture out to hunt ghosts in weather like this. While it was nice not having to worry about danger prone tourists Danny still was miserable, he could deal with the cold just fine in fact he preferred the cold. The problem was that It was the holiday season, the worst time of the year. At least the ghost attacks were less frequent as they all prepared for the Christmas truce party.
Still he supposed it could be worse. His parents weren’t fighting as much this year, though that was probably due to the fact they were still treating him like he was made of glass half of the time after he told them about the whole half dead thing. Danny figured that was due to the fact they blamed themselves for the portal incident, causing them to coddle him to an almost tortuous degree. It was as if they expected him to disappear if he was so much as bumped in the wrong way. It had gotten a bit better at this point at least, if things continued as it did at the beginning Danny was pretty sure he’d rather have them still be shooting at him. Now they only tensed up when he left the house instead of not so subtly stalking him all day.
At the moment Danny was sitting on the counter in the kitchen with his mom while she was cooking dinner. “Danny dear get off the counter that’s where the food goes not you.” Maddie said shooing him off the counter with a spatula.
Danny floated off in a huff, “This is ghostphobic mom. The counter is a perfect seat.”
Maddie rolled her eyes, “The term would be phasmophobic, and no it’s not it’s; I don’t want your butt all over where I’m making our dinner-phobic.”
“Fine transphobic then.”
“How about asking you to set the table? What would that be?”
Danny mulled it over for a few seconds. “A reasonable request I suppose.” He phased his hands though the cabinets grabbing the plates. Honestly he could have just as easily grabbed them normally but he was still trying to get his parents used to him having powers. “Oh by the way Sam, Tucker, and I are hanging out tomorrow to celebrate winter break starting and school being out for two whole weeks.” “Alright sweetie, but be safe okay?”
“Of course I will be mom.”
“I mean it Danny, please.”
Danny sighed “Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to text you regularly to let you know I’m safe. I’ll be fine and stay out of trouble, I promise” Maddie nodded seemingly plated at least for the time being.
The next day Danny was really regretting making that promise. The day started out so well too. Danny, Sam, and Tucker were walking along the park trail. Danny was walking a few steps in front of the other two, subtly making the path easier with his powers. The only people out insane enough to bear the cold were people who had to go to work and teens who were bored out of their minds.
“All I’m saying Danny is that if you want to choose that class you should choose a race other than human for once. Hellspawn would be the best option in your case.” Tucker argued.
“Says the dude playing the race for furries.” Danny shot back turning his head to look back at his friend.
“Hey! The beastmen race is a perfect fit for my class, they have an exp boost for trickery and magic skills  it’s the best for playing a character who mains in ambushing with traps.
“Boys boys stop arguing. Danny will be fine playing as a human he’s just gonna have to spend more time grinding. Also he’s right, beastmen are so the furry option.” Sam cut in.
“Whatever, I just don’t understand why he always plays the most boring race in every game he plays. I mean why would you want to play as a human when you could be a fantasy race like an elf or something.”
“Well that’s easy for you and Sam to say you both are still hum-,” Danny was cut off mid sentence by his ghost sense and a glowing red circle surrounding the group. He hardly had a chance to go ghost before being fully enveloped by the light.
When Danny was finally oriented enough to open his eyes he vowed to never complain about getting motion sick while his dad was driving again if it meant he would never have to go through that awful experience again. It felt like getting sucked into the Fenton Thermos if it was the size of a straw and being spun in a blender all at the same time. He looked around seeing if his friends were brought along with him. And just his luck, of course they got pulled through whatever the hell that was too.
“Ugh, you guys okay?” He closed his eyes again and focused on stabilizing his core and getting the last of the nausea to leave.
“Bleh I think I’m gonna hurl.” Sam groaned from beside him.
Danny heard Tucker shift beside him. “Yeah I’m good, I guess all that time staying up late playing VR games kinda helped against motion sickness. Landed on my arm though so definitely going to bruise later. Where are we anyway?”
That actually was a good question, Danny lifted himself off the ground literally, using legs to stand was lame anyway. The sight he was met with was both confusing and surprising. Looking down he saw that the three of them were in some sort of red magic circle or something, with candles lit around it. Looking past that was the part that was surprising. He was expecting this to be the work of a ghost but standing in a circle around the three of them were six  humans in different colored robes. He couldn’t recognize any of them though, they must have been from out of town or just total shut ins. He was pretty sure he recognized where they were though, it was the basement of an abandoned building next to the mall, Sam was super into urban exploring the year before and it was one of the first places she dragged the two boys to.
“Haha uhh hey didn’t know there was a costume party going on, I would have dressed up, looks like you got all the colored robe thing going on though. Would my hazmat suit work instead of a robe?” Danny looked at the group around him and cracked an uneasy smile. Maybe it was some sort of accidental ghost summoning or something, it wouldn’t be the first time. Though the fact it brought his friends along pointed to it either being on purpose or something much more powerful, or both.
The man in the black robe turned to a woman in a white one. “Why did the spell bring two kids along with it .”
Danny tried to ignore being called an ‘it’ not like his parents didn’t do it before they knew about his identity. “I’m not the murder clown and I do have a name you know.” But his words seemed to fall onto deaf ears.
“I did the calculations right if that’s what you’re trying to imply, as you can see the subject did appear in the circle as planned. We probably just underestimated how much power the sacrifice would provide with the addition of the solstice.” White robe snapped. Great, this was totally just what Danny needed at the start of his winter break. Not only did they seem like ghost hunters they were the crazy obsessed culty ones.
“Either way the goal was achieved in the end, we have the ghost boy.” Black robe pointed to two men, one in yellow and one in blue robes. “Take care of the two bystanders, but don’t kill them. After all we shouldn’t kill our soon to be followers.” Yeah that wasn’t concerning at all Danny thought.
The one in the yellow grabbed Sam and the one in the blue grabbed Tucker at the black robed man's command. Danny assumed that probably meant the black robed one was the one in charge here. “Hey! Get your hands off me you freaks!” Sam yelled, struggling against the man’s grip.
But Danny’s friends didn’t have a chance against people twice their size. Before either of them could struggle more the two men slammed their heads to the ground in almost unison, knocking them out almost instantly. It happened so fast all Danny would do is watch on in horror. He felt like he watched their now limp bodies for ages, their chests shallowly rising at least giving him the relief of knowing they were still alive. But the sight of small puddles of blood forming around their heads snapped him out of his horror and into a rage.
Danny placed his feet to the ground turning to look at the two in the black and white robes. “Why?” He seethed, “You said they were accidentally brought along when you were trying to get me here. Technically in a way this falls onto me. So tell me, why?”
The man in the black robe seemed taken aback from being confronted so suddenly. The woman in white didn’t seem to have the same problem, maybe they both were in charge? Honestly though Danny didn’t care at this point. “We will take over the little town you haunt. After we do that we will find out where all the ghosts are originating from and then make them into our soldiers so we can take over the country and then the world. To do that we obviously needed you out of the way since you seem to be the only one capable of combating the other ghosts that come into this world. Or you would just defeat our pawns before they could take true action. So we found a way to summon and trap ghosts, then brought you here so we could get you out of our way.”
Honestly Danny was disappointed hearing that more than anything, his rage almost completely disappeared after hearing the plan. “Hold up that is the stupidest plan I have ever heard.” And that was saying something seeing as he dealt with Vlad's plans on a weekly basis. “First off you do realize it would be very hard to get or even force ghosts into your service if you don’t offer them, anything in return. Not to mention how some ghosts have almost godlike powers and you expect to overpower them? Also I am not even close to the only one who can fight ghosts. Everyone in Amity Park has at least some know how when it comes to ghost fighting. They sell basic ghost protection equipment at the supermarket. I just happen to be better suited than everyone else because I y’know can like fly and go intangible when chasing them. Using ghosts to take over the world is so stupid do you even know how to properly catch a ghost? Seriously this is like next level dumb, not to mention how did you even know the summoning would work if it didn't you’d just all be standing in a darkly lit room looking dumber than you already do.”
That seemed to anger the white one a lot. Apparently she didn’t like her intelligence questioned. “Why you little-.” She stomped her foot. “This plan was thought through down to the smallest detail. You want to know how it worked huh? How about asking your friend over there. I wonder what happens when the dead are killed? You will find out soon enough.”
Danny looked over to where we gestured and his refound taunting attitude vanished. Laying over in the corner inside a smaller less complex looking circle was a ghost or the ectoplasmic remains of one at least, the core was completely destroyed. Judging by the fact that the ectoplasm was red it probably had a fire core before it was destroyed. From the lingering ecto signature Danny doubted the ghost was even sapient. It was most likely the remains of something like a blob ghost or the ghost of an animal or even a weaker ectopus. Still all he could do was stare at the remains in horror.
“Of course summoning you was harder so we used that thing for its ghost energy to help power the circle. Instead of chalk we used it’s ectoplasm to ensure the strength and longevity of the seal to hold you in the circle.” The woman smiled as if she achieved something great. Achieve something she did indeed, but it certainly was not what she intended.
The rage Danny felt before came back in full force. Before with his friends he at least knew they would recover, all three of them got injured fighting ghosts more often than they should. But to injure a ghost to the point where not even their core remained was something so taboo that only the most despicable ghosts would do. Even Skulker kept the cores of his prey stable enough not to fade away completely. A ghost's form could be completely destroyed but as long as their core remained they would reform back where they first formed in the Ghost Zone. The only ghosts Danny could think of who would go out of their way to destroy a core were some of the ancients like Pariah Dark or Nocturne.
Danny finally managed to tear his eyes away from the ghost's remains to lock eyes with the woman. She and the black robed man took a step back out of instinct. Looking into his eyes they felt the feeling every animal of prey felt when it knew it was being watched, being hunted. The temperature in the room dropped and frost started to crawl across the walls. Danny took a step towards the two leaders before pausing to reconsider and turning and starting towards the two men standing above his friends.
Then men in yellow and blue robes looked to the man in black for guidance, unsure of what action to take. He looked uncertain as well but shook his head. “There’s no way it can pass through the seal, we tested it.”
Danny's eyes flicked over to the man then back to the two who hurt his friends and gave them a predatory grin, his teeth now looking slightly sharper than usual. He made no sound as he stepped over the circle with ease closer and closer to the two men. They both reached for their weapons, small bats, apparently they were the muscle of the group, and swung at the approaching ghost. Danny simply went intangible causing the two to overswing and hit each other instead, knocking the wind out of them both and causing them to drop their bats. While they were catching their breath Danny grabbed them by their hair and knocked their heads together. Their bodies crumbled to the floor just a few inches from the teens they did the same to just minutes before.
The one who had yet to say or do anything, dressed in red, made her way towards Danny while his back was towards her. Just as she got within arms reach of him she slipped and fell. The temperature had dropped even more at this point causing the ground surrounding Danny to ice over. Danny hardly acknowledged the large thud behind him simply trapping the fallen woman up to her neck in ice as he walked past and headed towards his final two targets.
When first summoned by the group Danny could, within reason, probably be passed off as a weirdish looking human excluding the glow around him. But now as he stalked towards his prey that was no longer the case. His chest no longer moved like it was breathing. His feet made no sound as they made contact with the ground. His eyes, non-blinking, no longer had pupils or even whites to them just a void of endless ectoplasmic green. His ears were pointed almost bat like. The tips of which, along with his lips, were tinted blue. His hair, normally white like snow, now was just the white that came from complete absence of any color. The hair was defying gravity almost as if it was underwater while smoke like wisps trailed off from his hair as he moved. His mouth was twisted into an emotionless smile splitting through his cheeks showing needle like teeth all the way back to where his molars would have been, there was no tongue or throat behind them, just another endless green void. The skin of his neck that was showing past the hazmat suit was marked with lightning like scars. The glow around him seemed to absorb all the light in the room.
The man in the black robe looked between the approaching horror and his partner before running towards the exit. Danny moved so fast it was almost as if he materialized right in front of the man. The man stumbled back falling down in shock but still tried to scramble away from him crossing his chest as he did so. Just as Danny started to raise his arm towards the man he paused and lurched back.
He looked down at his chest where an ornate knife was now lodged. Holding onto the hilt was the woman, she gave the knife a final twist before letting go and herding her partner into the corner farthest away from Danny. Danny showed no pain as he grabbed the knife and pulled it out, the blade was dripping with ectoplasm, and dropped it on the ground. The wound in his chest already healing, filling with more ectoplasm to replace what was lost.
The smile that was marring Danny’s face was replaced with a scowl as he made his way towards the corner where the two were cowering. Placing a hand on their necks he lifted them both up against the wall and started slowly burning their skin with an ectoblast. He let them go, letting them fall to the ground only when their screams of pain turned silent as crushed vocal cords and burnt throat muscles took their toll. Both cult leaders looked up at him in horror faces pale. "What's wrong?" Danny smiled, "It looks like you've seen a ghost."
The woman looked at him in fear as she grasped at the raw skin of her throat, which now was covered in blisters and charred in some of the worst places. “Wha-, what, what are you?” She managed to rasp out before coughing up some blood.
Danny let out a dark chuckle, his voice echoed over itself. “I-,” he snarled, “am a Phantom .”
After Danny sent an anonymous tip to the police about the cult, he brought his friends back to his house. Of course his mom freaked out after he stopped responding to her texts and even more when he phased into the living room with an unconscious Sam and Tucker. He was pretty sure she was about to break out the BOOmerang if she didn’t hear from him for much longer. She was more than willing to take the two of them to the hospital to get them checked out.
Danny made a quick stop into the ghost zone to tell Clockwork to spread the word to other ghosts to be on alert and that there were humans that were trying to summon and capture ghosts. After telling Clockwork what happened, in much more detail than the briefest summary he gave his mom, including how he probably went a bit overboard with dealing with the cultists. He also admitted he didn't regret it even if he did go overboard. They hurt his friends and caused a ghost to completely fade, and in Danny’s opinion they deserve whatever came to them. The whole story caused Clockwork to also start fretting over him making sure to let Danny know that his reaction was a completely normal response to someone threatening something that falls within his obsession especially since it happened in his haunt of all places. Danny swore that his ghostly mentor could be worse than his own parents sometimes especially when it came to reassuring him about his more ghostly tendencies.
Luckily after being released from the hospital it turned out the worst Sam and Tucker suffered were concussions that would heal in a decently short amount of time. That didn’t mean they weren’t complaining about it though.
“Stop laughing about my suffering Danny! I won’t be able to start playing Fantasy War Online VII until my two week tech restriction is lifted by my doctor. It was bad enough I had to go to a hospital but to be taken away from my lovely devices as well is just too much.” Tucker lamented.
“Quit complaining and suck it up. I’m on the restriction too Tucker.” Sam pointed out.
Tucker huffed. “Yeah well you’ll probably manage to catch up to all the people who are getting it on release day easily, since you’re scarily good at MMO’s.” He flopped back onto Danny’s bed. “Hey at least this gives us more time to convince Danny to play something other than a human for once in his life. Like I said before the hellspawn is the perfect race for the build you’re going for.”
Danny just rolled his eyes. “And like I said before, I like being a human.” “Whatever dude just don’t complain when I utterly beat you if we end up fighting because you wanted to be the lamest most boring race ever.”
Danny shrugged. “Somehow I’ll cope, I just think it’s nice to be seen as normal and not scary.”
Sam laughed. “Danny you are the least scary person like to ever exist. The only things scary about you are your grades and your wacky parents. I doubt you could be scary if you tried.”
Danny looked out the window watching the stars as they started to appear in the sky. “...Yeah I guess you’re right.”

Wait.....
There are too many dnd parties. Who's in which?
I want to know who's in the art/comics
ooh ok!! so! get ready for a long post!! (my immediate response 2 seeing this ask was basically the screaming seagull meme so. i am going 2 ramble. i am going 2 ramble under a readmore actually because this is going to be a lot)
there are two parties with different players acting independently in the same city at the moment (the city is called Corner and could get an essay of its own honestly), and aside from the dm i'm the only player in both, which means i am the bearer of the curse (many juicy secrets). we're deliberately not sharing anything between the actual players so that if/when we do all someday meet, we can get some really good genuine responses to whatever it is that's shared in character. i am half looking forward to and half dreading playing two characters simultaneously because i've seen joe make players do it before and i dont think i can handle being a foppish bard and a miserable geriatric all at once. there's also a blog specifically for campaign aesthetics lmao @askh-thetics
the two parties are Calleach's Ward (lvl 11), and the Planet Raiders (lvl 6). they do not know the others exist, but the odd rumour of the ward's actions are occasionally drifting towards the raiders, because they tend to make uh. more public moves.
Raiders are probably easier to nail down characters as it's just the four pcs at the moment:
Tumblr media
left to right are Nephythys, a tiefling witch played by @becausesecondsnotthesame, Nerve, a virian (half orc) kind-of-artificer-but-actually-a-homebrew-class-the-dm-made, Myah, an aasimar illrigger/hell knight played by @recovering-vamp, and Alistair Fonley, beloved human rogue played by @geoantennae.
all hand picked by our dragon patron Lady Vesper to explore the old worlds (ancient, abandoned, technologically advanced planets that most of the inhabitants of this world originally came from before the elves and vir bombed the whole place back to fantasy era technological capabilities) and bring back whatever they can get their nasty little hands on. morally ambiguous, in it for the cash and the exploration, having to keep the fact that they can travel to space a major secret because that is Not common technology.
Calleach's Ward on the other hand! oh boy!! bound by oath to "stand in the path of destruction" and protect the chains that hold the fragments of this planet together, the ward has been playing since september 2019 and has therefore been through a lot more pcs in that time. and yes i am going to list all of them. heads up there will be terrible old art in here.
the orignal party comp was (starting at fall w his back to us and going clockwise round the table) Fall, elf bard, Claudia, human ranger, Iovanus, virian monk, Aamali, aasimar warlock, Anyte, dwarven cleric (played by @femmemins), and Kaius, tiefling rogue. (yes i only draw full party shots in taverns, what of it.)
Tumblr media
Iovanus was eventually replaced by Elias, human artificer and eternal victim of bullying by the rest of the party for being Vaguely Sensible. Aamali and Claudia's players left over time, and for a while Anyte and Kaius were replaced with Ranha (merfolk barbarian/pirate, @femmemins‘s new guy) and Lila (elf witch) respectively. also during this time fall (who is the only member who has stayed exclusively with the ward since joining) got alchemically petrified (by an enemy) then alchemically reanimated (by Elias), so he looks a little different nowadays, being made of stone and all
Tumblr media
NOW however, we've moved from Kingdom to Corner; Lila and her moth gf went off in one direction, Ranha in another, Elias returned to the Virum Orcorum, and Anyte came home but as a valour bard now! Fall and Anyte travelled to Corner to rescue Kaius from whatever nonsense he had gotten himself into, and enlisted the help of Rikixio, a dragonborn beastheart / private investigator who decided that the party as it stood was interesting and chaotic enough that he wants to stick around and see what they do next. which means the "ward" at this point is these chucklefucks
Tumblr media
and i love them

Problems
I wanted to do something for the 2021 Handers Gift Exchange (@handers-time - Thank you for setting this up.) so I wrote a tiny one-shot as an extra gift for @un-shit-yourself about Werewolf Hawke. I hope you like it! Ao3 Link
Hawke made a face. Hawke made a lot of faces, but Anders had never seen him make that particular face before. It looked downright feral, golden eyes gleaming in the dimly lit caverns of Darktown, a snarl curling his lip beneath his mustache and revealing impressively pointed teeth Anders may or may not have imagined sinking into his shoulder while Hawke fucked him silly right there in his clinic.
Anders didn’t think about it at first.
He mentioned, off-handedly, that Gallard had been giving him problems. A game of Wicked Grace gone wrong. Sure, maybe betting his ear hadn’t been the brightest idea, but Anders had more body parts than coin most days, so what else was he supposed to bet? He’d had a good hand - no, scratch that, he’d had a great hand - but Gallard had better, because Gallard cheated, and Anders knew Gallard cheated, but he’d played with Gallard anyway.
So, the ear. Anders rather liked his ears. They were where he kept his earrings, after all, and maybe it was greedy of him to want to keep both of them, but no one had ever accused him of being generous. No one except for Hawke, in that damned flirtatious way of his, smirking with one too many teeth about how if Anders was going to keep giving things away to refugees he could sure use a shirt just like the one Anders was wearing now if he wanted to take it off.
Anders wasn’t sure how that conversation had swung back around to Gallard, but swung it had, and Hawke had made a face.
Anders was sure they’d kept talking, but the rest of the conversation was wind. He was too distracted by the sheer wildness that came out whenever Hawke was passionate about something. It manifested in the way he moved, powerful hands doing all of his talking for him while Anders imagined all the other things those hands could have been doing. Fisting in his hair, pulling his head back and exposing his throat for Hawke to worship, holding him against the wall aaaaand Hawke was gone.
Sigh.
Hawke took his hands with him when he left. Anders wondered if he could get him to bet them in a game of Wicked Grace. Now there was a bet Anders would have been more than happy to match. Hawke could have his hands, and his cock, and flames take him, Hawke could have the rest of him while he was at it. Gallard though. Gallard was not his type and Gallard could not have his ears and Anders was just going to have to set that expectation the next time he came knocking, but Gallard never did.
He just vanished.
Which was nice. It was nice that he vanished, but the thought of him popping up again was not so nice, and Anders was not looking forward to that happening, so it was even nicer when he stumbled across Gallard’s corpse. Someone had stuffed it down a coal chute, and someone else had opened said coal chute, and that poor someone was him. Gallard, or what was left of him, came flopping out, half-rotten from a week of decay and covered in soot.
Anders stumbled back, gagging, but there was no mistaking the elf. Anders would recognize those reflective eyes anywhere. They were a shade like old moss, an expression of abject terror on Gallard’s face over whatever he’d seen just before he’d died. Anders didn’t doubt it was horrifying - considering it had eaten him. Just a little. Just his ears, crunched off both sides of his skull, so Anders didn’t think about it.
It seemed like a hate crime. Hate crimes happened in Kirkwall, but then it happened again. Anders mentioned, off-handedly again, that guardsman Orwald had been giving him problems too. Badgering the refugees. Demanding protection money and destroying shelters when he didn’t get it and confiscating their belongings in the process. Aveline promised to look into it - the same sort of way she promised to look into everything - but Hawke had made that face.
Guardsman Orwald stopped showing up for duty. Guardsman Orwald started showing up around the undercity. A hand here. A foot there. A conspicuously gnawed upon torso and a chewed up thigh. Guardsman Orwald kept showing up around the undercity for a whole month before they finally found all of him - or all that was left of him - and Anders finally started thinking about it.
He mentioned, maybe not so off-handedly, that Ser Mettin had been giving him more problems. Harassing the Mage’s Collective. Knocking down the doors of mages and mage sympathizers and outright killing them without even trying to capture them, and Hawke made that face. Anders followed him that evening, and Hawke followed Ser Mettin, out of the Hanged Man and down one of Lowtown’s many alleys, but Hawke wasn’t dressed for a fight.
He was wearing what Hawke always wore: a cheap pair of trousers and a cheaper tunic. The kind of clothes that would be lucky to last one fortnight and fell apart in two. He didn’t even have a weapon outside of his knuckles, but he spent plenty of time cracking each one when he cornered Mettin in the alleyway. “I heard you have a problem with mages,” Hawke growled.
“You’re going to have a problem if you don’t keep walking, serah,” Ser Mettin shot back, a hand to the hilt of his sword, and damned if Hawke wasn’t outmatched. Ser Mettin was in full armor, iron cuirass emblazoned with the flames of Andraste’s pyre and the sword Hessarian used to run her through when she burned on it. Anders hated the heraldry. It said everything it needed to say about how templars treated mages. About what templars did to them.
They called it mercy.
They called it justice.
They should have called it murder.
A surge of righteous anger burned through him, like the Veil tore inside him, and hands of molten lyrium were trying to claw their way out of the Fade. Anders took a deep breath - and then another - trying to calm down, to force it back, to shut the door, to keep from becoming what he knew he was meant to be. Not here. Anders couldn’t lose it here - but apparently Hawke could.
“I like problems,” Hawke smirked. “I like causing them.”
Hawke-...
Hawke changed.
His body warped and contorted, the crack of bones and snapping of tendons like something out of Anders’ nightmares. Maker, he looked like a man possessed, ripping apart his shirt as his shoulders expanded past it. Claws tore through his fingers and toes, ripping apart his cheap leather shoes, and he changed. He changed into Rage. It had to have been Rage - and Hawke had to have embraced it - but Rage burned. This-...
This howled. Hair - no, fur - claimed every inch of Hawke’s skin, and all at once, he wasn’t Hawke. He was-...
He was a wolf.
He was a bloody werewolf.
“Demon!” Ser Mettin screamed, wrenching his sword from his scabbard only for Hawke to swat it aside with a vicious swipe of one massive hand - paw? - that shredded Ser Mettin’s gauntlets and took off three of his fingers. They bounced across the street like scraps of meat thrown to the floor of a banquet hall to be swallowed up by the sort of slathering mabari Hawke seemed to have become.
Hawke dove on him, powerful claws tearing through iron and flesh and painting the wall with Ser Mettin’s blood when Hawke pinned him to it. Ser Mettin drew a dagger from his hip with the only hand he had left, driving it into Hawke’s shoulder again and again, but he might have been using a feather for all Hawke seemed to notice. Bloodied claws dug into Ser Mettin’s shoulders, and before he could even scream, Hawke’s fangs were in his throat.
Chunks of flesh and veins caught in his teeth, and mingled with drool the longer Hawke kept his death grip on the wailing templar. Ser Mettin’s grip on his dagger went slack, his attempts to fight Hawke off growing weaker and weaker as he bled out, until the life finally fled from his eyes. Hawke kept hold of him, seemingly lost to the ecstasy of his kill, a satisfied rumble from somewhere deep in his chest filling the silence of the night with the steady drip of Mettin’s blood.
Hawke swallowed whatever was left of Mettin in his mouth, and dropped him in the process. He ran his paws - hands? - over his head and through his midnight fur, the color so dark it absorbed any traces of blood before licking his muzzle clean. Anders watched - frozen, fascinated - when Hawke turned and noticed him.
Starlight glinted off his golden eyes, as gorgeous in this form as any other, and for one miserable moment Anders was terrified he’d lost him. That Hawke had given into this form the way so many mages gave into their own demons. That he was just Rage and there was no getting him back and Anders had lost him the way he’d lost Karl and-
And he was fine.
And he was naked.
Hawke clamped his hands over his crotch - as wide-eyed and panicked as if Anders had just walked in on him in the wash. He spun in a fast circle and snatched up a blood-drenched bit of cloth that made as poor a loincloth as it had a tunic.
“It’s not what it looks like,” Hawke said.
“It looks like you’re a werewolf,” Anders said.
“Okay…” Hawke cleared his throat. “I guess it’s exactly what it looks like.”
“When were you going to tell me?” Anders demanded, picking his way across the bloody abattoir Hawke had made of the alleyway to his side.
“Now?” Hawke decided.
“Now would be good,” Anders reached out to wipe some of the blood from his face. Hawke turned a shade of red to match it, apparently more concerned by the fact that Anders had seen him naked than the fact that Anders had seen him transform, but after watching him kill a templar, Anders honestly couldn’t say which sight was more appealing.
“I’m a werewolf,” Hawke said. “Is that-... Is that a problem?”
Anders grinned, “I like problems.”

Idk if you still accept requests but can you please bless us with more Levihan Witcher AU?Hanji as a bard/alchemist is so on brand for her.
anon, thank you so much for this ask! you woulnd’t believe it, but this fic was sitting in my drafts for almost six months, and your ask finally motivated me to finish it! this is super self-indulgent and also my nerdiness for witcher series is definetely showing but eh.... hope you still enjoy it <3
The town of Rinde, near the edge of Redania, was as shitty as they came.
The roads were washed away with dirt, the huts (calling them houses would be an exaggeration) stood dirty and even and kids were running around, dressed in torn clothes and without any shoes on.
Needless to say, all of it disgusted Levi.
And, really, he would have skipped that town altogether, it didn’t look like there was anyone there, who was rich enough to pay for hiring him, and, since he wasn’t on a hunt for a long time, he really needed to find someone, who would toss that coin to the witcher. He would have skipped that town, he almost did, but then he heard it. His witcher senses had picked it up immediately, the faint sound, the voice that was unmistakable for him, even though Levi hadn’t heard it for almost a year.
He headed in the direction of that voice instantly, the Roach following after him with an unusual willingness. Maybe, the horse has sensed her as well. The Roach always liked the annoying bard, after all.
After reaching the small tavern near the outskirts of the town and tying Roach to the outpost, Levi stopped in front of the door, giving himself the time to change his decision.
The tavern wasn’t up to his standards. At all. Even without seeing what was inside, it was enough for Levi to see the moldy walls to understand that he was standing at the threshold to a shithole.
He should have turned around and escaped this town. The nightfall was approaching and, as far as he knew, there wasn’t a town or even a village nearby. He’d have to sleep under the stars again. It was more preferable to stepping inside the unkempt tavern.
Besides, even without his supernatural senses, he could hear that the place was full of drunkards. Some shouted out vulgar jokes and laughed boisterously, some sang loudly and quite terribly.
And amidst all of it, there it was. Her voice that was laughing and singing with the rest of the patrons. For anyone else it would have been hard to decipher just one voice out of the dozens of others, but for Levi, this voice was special.
There were no doubts in his mind anymore. He pushed the door open.
All conservation ceased as soon as Levi walked inside. Well, that was to be expected. What was unexpected was the absence of a loud cheerful shriek greeting him. Although... considering the way he parted with Hange a year ago, maybe, he should have expected it as well.
Nevertheless, she paid him no attention, didn't even look at him. Levi's mood worsened. Glaring at all the patrons, he made his way to the bar.
"Tea," he ordered gruffly.
"Tea?" the maiden, who was standing behind the bar, raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Are you sure? We have ale, beer, vodka..."
"I don't want that piss that you call ale and beer here, and I definitely do not want to taste whatever the fuck substitutes vodka in this shithole. Just simple tea. You have it, I hope?"
"I'll look around...." the maiden nodded uncertainly. "Anything else?"
"If you have some soup that'd be great."
"Alright, I'll bring your order in a minute. Are you going to stay the night?"
Levi's eyes immediately darted to Hange. She wasn't looking at him. He sighed.
"We'll see about that."
Levi spent the whole evening boring holes into the back of Hange's head. She didn't turn around even once, too busy having fun with her new friends. As he watched the merry group in front of him, Levi couldn't help but scoff. Most of them, both men and women, were already smitten with Hange. He could see it in the way they subtly touched her hand or squeezed her shoulder, in the way they smiled dreamily and blushed every time she looked at them. Hange always had an uncanny ability to charm people. If it was her silvery voice or just the natural charisma, Levi wasn’t sure. He hated it nevertheless.
Not because Hange managed to put him under her spell as well (she did not) but because he hated when Hange paid attention to someone, except him. Apparently, even witchers could be childish sometimes.
However, considering what he had told Hange at that mountain, when anger and frustration took over him, maybe, he didn't deserve her attention anymore.
Still, Levi felt bitter, watching Hange’s smiles and teasing directed on someone, who wasn’t him. He missed her, goddamn it. It took him so long to realize it, but he enjoyed Hange’s company so much. The hunts just weren’t the same, if she wasn’t by his side, splurging some weird facts she read from bestiaries at Oxcenfurt. The roads seemed longer without Hange, who filled the silence with one of her new songs or her musings about the life. And even though, Levi always acted annoyed whenever Hange claimed that the nights were too chilly, so they have to sleep together to savor the warmth, now, since she wasn’t sleeping by his side anymore, even a brightly lit fire couldn’t make the cold disappear.
Shit, he was in such a deep shit.
As the evening progressed into the night, the patrons slowly started to tinker out of the tavern. Levi watched each of them carefully, trying to guess which of these lucky bastards would leave together with Hange.
However, soon almost everyone had left. The only other person, who was still at the tavern, was Hange.
As soon as the last customer went on his way, she sat atop the table and took out her lute.
She plucked the strings of the instrument, tuning it in. Throughout the evening, Hange sang numerous songs, all of them were accompanied by laughter and applause. But not by her lute.
A special lute that was given to her by an elf after her last one was destroyed and after Levi had threatened the said elf to break her nose if she dared to put that miserable expression on a pretty face of his bard ever again.
It was a shame that Hange still refused to look at him. He always enjoyed looking at her while she played. Her expression always matched the song she was performing - if the song was fast and catchy, she would be grinning from ear to ear, lightening up the whole room, and if she was singing the sad one, the one about heartbreak and tragic love, her face was mournful, her eyes distant.
Hange started to play, and Levi recognized the song instantly.
A storm raging on the horizon of longing, and heartache, and lust
Damn, of course, she decided to sing that song. Evidently, Hange was out to torture him as much as possible.
“I dedicate it to you, Levi!” she announced after she had first presented it to him.
They were in the middle of a road, resting in front of a fire after an exhausting hunt for a Nightwraith. Well, Levi was resting after an exhausting hunt, Hange was sitting beside him, blabbering almost nonstop. She sang a song to him too, after shyly confessing that this was her latest creation.
“How the fuck can this song be about me?” Levi grunted then. “It’s about woman, dipshit.”
“Ah, but a song about a man won’t be popular amongst my fellow bards! So I had to change a few things there and then.”
“So my kiss is that sweet?” he asked, fighting back a smile.
Hange snickered, leaning in to whisper in his ear, “And it destroys me each time.”
That memory – amongst hundreds, millions of others – kept replaying in his mind, as he listened to her beautiful voice. Hange was called a genius, one of the most talented bards in all Northern Kingdoms.
Levi always considered it to be bullshit. He was sure that even in Nilfgaardian Empire there wasn’t an artist half as blessed with a gift of music as Hange was.
As she finished the song, Hange got to her feet. She slanged her lute over her shoulder and headed to the bar. As he watched her order, Levi hid a small smile – it seemed Hange was still inseparable with the damn lute. Some things never change, it seemed.
His musings were cut off abruptly, when Hange sat down at his table. In her hands she held two cups with something that smelled very much like piss. Levi cringed.
Hange finished the first mug in one go. She wiped off her mouth and then put the mug down with a loud ‘thud’. She pushed the second mug to Levi.
“Drink,” she ordered, glaring at him.
“I don’t get drun—”
“Drink,” she pressed. “I don’t care if your stupid witcher physiology enables you from getting drunk. I won’t have this conversation if one of us is sober.”
“Alright,” Levi nodded and took a large gulp from the mug. Oh, so that was ale. Disgusting. “Are you happy now?”
“Ecstatic,” Hange crossed hands on her chest. “Now answer me this – what is so interesting about the back of my head?”
“What? I don’t—”
“You do,” Hange cut him off once more. “You do understand. You’ve been staring at me the whole evening. Don’t you have something better to do? Some important witcher stuff? What the fuck are you even doing here, Levi?”
“I…” he cleared his throat, feeling small under Hange’s furious gaze. “I needed somewhere to spend the night.”
“And that’s why you decided to spend your evening in the company of drunkards, eating your soup in a corner?”
“Maybe, I’ve missed the human’s company.”
Hange threw her head back and laughed. “You missing human’s company? Don’t give me that crap.”
“Well…” for a second Levi fidgeted with a sleeve of his armor, refusing to look Hange in the eyes. It was now or never. Either he apologizes to Hange right now, or there won’t be another chance to reconcile. He took a deep breath and lifted his gaze. “Maybe, I’ve missed you.”
Hange’s eyes widened just a fraction. She composed herself almost immediately, but Levi noticed the slight change in her. Could it be that not everything was lost?
“Bullshit,” Hange answered, her tone even colder than before. “How can you miss the person, who destroyed your life again and again? Who is the sole reason for any hardship you had ever faced? Who does nothing, but shit on your future?”
Levi silently lowered his head, not even trying to stop Hange’s angry tirade. He deserved every word, every insult she threw his way. He would endure a lot more offence from her, if it meant that Hange would forgive him. If everything could go back to normal. If Levi could finally reunite with his best friend.
Hange took a deep sigh and stood up. Levi looked up at her gingerly, expecting to see her storm out of the tavern. Instead Hange went to the bar again, ordering two more mugs of ale, and returned to his table.
“They are for me,” she told curtly, when Levi tried to reach to one of the mugs. “I really can’t deal with this sober.”
“Hange…” he cleared his throat, feeling more nervous and vulnerable than when he was staring at a mob of harpies. “The way I treated you was awful… I was angry and needed someone to pour that anger out, but you didn’t deserve it. I’m asking for your forgiveness, but if you can’t grant it… just say so. I promise not to bother you after this.”
“Sweet Melitele,” Hange shook her head. “Tell me, Levi, are all witchers assholes, or was I just lucky enough to meet an exception?”
She took a long sip of ale, wincing and wiping her mouth afterwards. For a long moment, Hange stared at the table, tracing the invisible patterns on the old, wooden surface.
“I forgive you, you dumbass,” she said finally. Her words made Levi’s heart swell. He stared at her, hope shining in his gaze. “But I have two conditions.”
“Anything,” Levi promised readily.
“Anything, huh?” Hange arched an eyebrow. “Are you really that eager to have my forgiveness or are you just naturally so brave?”
“Both,” he replied, shrugging.
“My first condition,” she smiled in an almost feral manner. Shivers ran through his spine, but Levi didn’t allow himself to shudder. Showing his fear would only make Hange crueler. “I want you to help me with my experiments. I found a new potion and I need a person with fast metabolism to run some tests on it, and I need to extract four front teeth from algoul for my next concoction.”
“That’s it?”
“That’s it,” Hange nodded. “As for my first condition. My second one,” she paused, leaning in and grabbing the collar of his armor. “I need you to give me that sweet kiss of yours.”
“Well,” Levi smirked, moving closer to her, before their lips were almost touching. “Ready to be destroyed then.”

“Why do wererats always have to live in sewers?” Kharis grumped. “Every time we get contracted to kill rodents of any kind, I just know we’re going to have to go somewhere gross.”
Kharis, DuMont, Rupert, Sanoh, and Norman all pulled themselves out of the sewers of one of the larger towns west of the capitol. People had been going missing, and the mayor of the town realized that the rats in town were multiplying at an incredible rate, even with preventative measures. It was a clear indication that wererats were responsible.
“It wasn’t all that bad,” Sanoh said. “The humidity down there was good for my scales. They’re so itchy.”
“It may have been good for your scales, but it definitely wasn’t good for your clothes,” Kharis remarked. “That stink isn’t coming out. You might as well burn that shit.”
“Yeah, that’s true,” Sanoh said with a sigh. Her dancer’s outfit, which she always wore regardless of the situation, was torn and it’s bright red hue was now dark brown. “I really liked this one, too.”
Rupert seemed even more miserable that Kharis. “Can we please find a bathhouse? I haven’t been this filthy in years.”
“You’re one to talk, look at poor DuMont!” Kharis said, pointing at her giant lover. DuMont, the mountain of a tiefling that he was, was splattered head to toe in muck and grime and rat guts. His large church-bell bludgeon that he had slung over his shoulder was absolutely caked in blood and gore. “He’s not even complaining!”
“That’s because he doesn’t know how to complain,” Sanoh said. “He takes the phrase ‘roll with the punches’ far too literally.”
“Is that wrong?” DuMont asked, his cavernously deep voice echoing through the city streets, causing many who weren’t already staring at the group to spin in surprise.
“Of course not, love,” Kharis said, patting his arm as he walked on all fours. “I much prefer silent temperance to someone who does nothing but complain.” She looked pointedly at Rupert.
“Norman complains more than I do!” Rupert retorted.
“I haven’t said a word!” Norman protested. “Don’t pick on me because you’re a whiner.”
“Oh, my god, everyone shut up!” Sanoh said, rubbing her forehead. “There’s a bathhouse one block over, so will you all just please stop bitching.”
“I’m not bitching,” DuMont said in an undertone. “But I am hungry.”
“I’ll order you a rack of lamb and a sack of potatoes when we get to the inn, hon,” Kharis said. “Get cleaned up first. You don’t want to eat when you’re that dirty or you’ll get sick.”
“I’ve never been sick.” DuMont countered.
“Even still, you should be clean…er. And I don’t want you to drop pieces of food in the bath, either. It’ll feel like we’re all sitting in a stew.”
“You weirdos can sit in the stew, I’m getting a private bath,” Norman said.
“Why do you do that?” Rupert asked. “You always get your own instead of bathing with us, even though private baths are so much more expensive. It’s no wonder why you never have any money.”
“I’m not trying to get head by a paid companion in front of you lot,” He said sniffily.
“Suit yourself, but I bet that’d be fun to watch,” Kharis said playfully.
Norman snorted. “You would think that, you pervert.”
“You’ve become so shy since we started traveling, Norman,” Kharis said. “You used to be a nice, relatable pervert, just like the rest of us.”
“Maybe being with you people has made me see the error in my ways,” Norman remarked.
“Pssh, there isn’t anything wrong with being a pervert. Besides, I think DuMont balances me out. He can be such a prude sometimes.”
“I imagine being raised by a priest in a church will have that effect on a person,” Sanoh said.
“You are a pervert, Kharis,” DuMont said, as if in agreement with Norman.
“Does me being a pervert bother you?” Kharis asked him, grinning.
He looked at her and cocked his head as he walked, considering her, looking like a massively oversized dog, as he always did when thinking.
“No,” He said eventually.
“See? He likes it.”
“Now, I didn’t say that,” He said. His face wasn’t built to smile, but Rupert thought he could hear laughter in his voice, and Rupert grinned.
“We would be the ones to pick brazen, sex-crazed women, wouldn’t be, big guy?” Rupert said, smacking DuMont’s broad shoulder in solidarity.
DuMont grunted in a way that could have been mistaken for a chuckle.
DuMont had been very taciturn since they had met him nearly a year ago, but his personality was slowly beginning to emerge as the five of them spent more time together on the road, doing jobs. Rupert was glad he finally felt comfortable enough with the group to try joking with them.
The bathhouse came into view shortly afterward. It catered to adventuring sorts, so it wasn’t necessarily a high-end place, and the five of them tended to frequent it often. The staff there barely batted an eye at DuMont anymore. The laundresses despised the sight of them, however, since they always arrived splattered with all manner of filth, much of which was hard to wash out.
“Hey, can we get the big tub, please?” Sanoh called out as soon as they entered the place. “We’ll pay extra to reserve the whole thing, though I doubt many people will want to come in after us.”
The woman at the front desk curled up her lip at them as they entered, but said, “Yes, of course. You’re usual packages?”
“Yes,” Norman said. “Private room for me, please. Do you have any companions available?”
“Derek is available.”
“Ugh, no, not him. What about Vincent?”
“Vincent is away visiting family. Connor?”
Norman nodded. “Connor will do. Just make sure he brings the right massage oils this time.”
“That costs extra,” The woman reminded him.
“I’m aware,” Normal said, starting toward the private baths.
“I’m beginning to think Norman is too fancy for us,” Sanoh said. “We can’t afford him.” She walked up to the counter. “Do you have any scale oil?”
“We don’t have any specifically for scales, but there are plenty for skin and hair.”
“Hmm…” Sanoh said. “Give me the hair oil, then. It tends to be thicker. What scents have you got?”
Kharis snorted. “Come on, let’s get these clothes off before they stick to us. She may be at this for a while.”
Dumont and Rupert followed her to one of the larger public baths, one with a door, and closed it behind them. Now that they had been together for a long time, they were less shy about bathing together as they had been. Even DuMont had stopped blushing when he saw them all nude in the same bath.
“Kharis, I’m hungry,” DuMont said insistently. The only time DuMont ever seemed to get grumpy was when he needed a meal.
“Let me at least scrub you down once and we’ll go get some food,” She told him, pushing him into the bath still wearing his loincloth. The robes and towels weren’t nearly large enough to cover him, so they just had taken to washing him in the bath, clothes and all. They usually did him first, drained the bath, and refilled it for the rest of them.
Once Rupert helped Kharis give DuMont a once over, getting him clean enough to go into the tavern, they left to get something to eat and Rupert and Sanoh waited for the tub to be refilled. When that was done, the fresh water was nice and hot, and Sanoh arrived with her purchased oils. They both stripped down and got in with a satisfied sigh.
“Oh, gods, this is nice,” Sanoh said.
“Mmm,” Rupert agreed. “I think this is the first time in a month that my shoulders have relaxed.”
“My scales were starting to get so brittle. Will you get my scale brush and scrub the oils into my back? I can feel them flaking.”
“Sure, just a second,” He said, getting out with a splash and grabbing her back. She had a special boars-hair brush she used to clean and sharpen her scales and horns. Her favorite thing in the world was laying out and letting him groom her tiny body all over. It often got her in a frisky mood.
Sure enough, after only scrubbing her back for fifteen minutes, she started to wiggle in his lap, rutting her hips backward into him. He began to harden immediately. Sanoh seemed to revel in getting him aroused in dangerously public places, but it always caused Rupert anxiety.
“What are you doing?” Rupert said. “Kharis and DuMont will be back any minute.”
“Then let’s be quick,” She said, looking back at him over her shoulder.
She lifted up in the water and slowly sank her swollen lips down onto him. He gripped her hips and groaned, his head falling back, trying to keep his voice down. There really was no arguing when she was in a mood like this. He began to thrust up into her, sloshing the water around them.
She laughed breathlessly. “Good boy.” She thrust back into him as he moved inside her. Before long, he picked her up and lay her over the side of the bath, slamming himself into her hard enough to make her thighs ripple. She began to moan loudly.
“Shh!” He hissed. “You’re going to get us thrown out.”
“But it feels so good,” She whimpered. “Norman has sex in the baths all the time, don’t worry about it.”
“Don’t make me gag you,” He said, panting.
“You can try,” She said, laughing, before crying out against the tile. He put his hand over her mouth, but she bit him. He let go, inspecting his hand, and when he found she hadn’t broken the skin, he instead grabbed her throat, squeezing.
“Oh, fuck,” She wheezed, her eyes going glassy. As bossy as she was, she loved it when he was rough and took charge.
“Shut up!” He snarled in her ear. “You started it. Be quiet and take it.”
“I will,” She simpered, and he squeezed harder.
“I said, shut up!” He slammed hard into her, and she squeaked against his grip on her neck, her body trembling in excitement. She came suddenly, gushing down her legs, but he didn’t relent, crushing his body against hers, breathing down her neck and spine, moving at a frenzied pace.
“Fuck, I’m going to cum,” He said through his gritted teeth. “Stand still, don’t fucking move.”
Before he got the chance, however, he heard the far door open and Kharis’s voice drift through.
“Shit!” He exclaimed, pulling out suddenly and ducking under the water to hide himself. His cock was throbbing with the unfulfilled promise of climax, but there was little he could do about it now. He was just going to have to sit there and suffer in silence.
Until Sanoh sat back down onto him, spearing him inside her, her inner walls still quivering from the orgasm.
“Now what are you doing?!” He asked frantically.
“Just act natural,” She replied in an undertone.
“They’re going to know!”
“Not if you don’t make a big deal about it! Lay your head back and pretend you’re sleeping!
“Sanoh!”
“Just do it!”
Rupert lay his head back against the tile on the edge of the bath with Sanoh in his lap just as Kharis and DuMont re-entered the bathing area, stripping down to join them.
“Well, DuMont cleaned out the tavern, so if you want food, you’re going to have to find a vendor somewhere,” Kharis said.
“Not surprising,” Sanoh said, stealthily riding Rupert’s cock under the water, pretending to be washing her arms to cover the movement.
“What’s with him?” Kharis asked, nodding at Rupert.
“He conked out almost immediately after you left. I’m just keeping his lap warm,” She said smoothly.
Kharis snorted and said, “I wish I could fall asleep as easily as he can. DuMont’s like that too,” She reclined on the large red tiefling. “He can fall asleep mid-sentence.”
“A gift and a curse,” Sanoh said in agreement. She squeezed Rupert’s length with her inner muscles, and it took all his effort not to grunt or move. He dug his fingers into the skin of her hips as a warning. Sanoh snorted. She moved under the pretense of adjusting herself and nearly made Rupert jump out of his skin with how deep she’d push him into her. He couldn’t help but make a small sound.
Kharis noticed. “What are you doing?” She asked Sanoh, her eyes narrowing.
“What are you talking about?” Sanoh asked innocently.
Kharis gave Sanoh a sardonic look. “You don’t have to pretend to be asleep anymore, Rupert, I know what’s going on. I’m a pervert, after all.”
Rupert sighed and lifted his head. “The jig is up, I guess. Sanoh, hop off.”
“I didn’t say you had to stop,” Kharis said. “Far be it from me to interrupt your fun.”
“What about DuMont?” Rupert asked skeptically.
“What about him?” Kharis replied, reaching over in the water and placing her hand in DuMont’s lap.
“Wha…” DuMont said, startled. “What are you doing?”
“Having fun,” Kharis said. “Don’t you want to have fun?”
“But…” He looked at Sanoh and Rupert.
“They’re already having fun,” Kharis said. “They started before us.”
“They are?” DuMont asked in surprise, squinting at the pair.
As if to answer, Sanoh let Rupert’s organ fall out of her and spun in Rupert’s lap. Now that she didn’t have to worry about stealthing, she rocked on him and moaned.
“Oh,” DuMont replied, and then sucked in his breath when Kharis squeezed him.
“Are you okay with this, buddy?” Rupert asked over Sanoh’s shoulder, though he was beginning to lose speech. “We’ll stop if you aren’t comfortable with it.”
“Speak for yourself,” Sanoh said with a snort.
“We’ll stop if you aren’t comfortable, DuMont,” Rupert repeated, giving Sanoh a warning look. Sanoh rolled her eyes and shrugged.
“I’m fine, it’s okay,” DuMont replied, playing with Kharis’s hair and she fondled him under the water.
“See? He’s fine, don’t be such a baby,” Sanoh said, pushing him into her deeper. He grunted and stopped speaking.
Kharis held her breath and ducked her head under water, and DuMont tensed and groaned, his hands balling into fists on the side of the tub. From then on, there was little talk, just moans, grunts, groans, and breathy whimpering.
Kharis came up and went to the edge of the bath, bending over and presenting her rear. DuMont followed her and knelt down, pressing his cock into her and thrusting in hard, pushing her forward and down onto the tile. She laughed breathlessly.
“That looks like fun,” Sanoh said, going over to bend over next to Kharis, wiggling her butt at Rupert and moving her tail out of the way, so he could see her dripping between her legs. Rupert followed DuMont and rammed back into her, thrusting fast and hard.
“Wanna see something really fun?” Sanoh said to Kharis. Kharis nodded, and Sanoh leaned over and kissed her on the mouth.
The reaction was instantaneous. Rupert grabbed Sanoh by the throat again and pulled her up against his body.
“What do you think you’re doing?” He asked, his voice hard and angry. He sped up, fucking her roughly as he held her in place. “You belong to me. Don’t you dare do that again without my permission.”
Sanoh’s face went slack and she nodded, whimpering, completely at his mercy.
DuMont’s reaction was also immediate. He grabbed Kharis up and vaulted out of the bath, throwing her to the floor. He pinned down her arms and legs and put his face inches from hers. He didn’t say anything, but a low, guttural snarl issued from his throat, his brows furrowed as he stared at her with the intensity of a predator looking at prey.
“What’s the matter, big guy?” She said with a grin. “Are you jealous?”
“Mine,” He growled lowly, almost indistinguishable from the threatening, thunderous rumble of his voice.
“Prove it,” She challenged.
He opened his mouth and sank his front canine teeth into her shoulder, drawing blood. He thrust himself back into her without letting go, his jaws locked, and he lifted her off the ground and just railed her.
There was no hope of keeping their voices down now. If they got kicked out, they got kicked out. Sanoh and Kharis screamed, shouted, howled, and swore in pleasure as their lovers used their bodies to climax.
At some point, there was a knock on the door.
“Is everything okay?”
“Go away!” Sanoh and Kharis shouted in unison.
Kharis and Sanoh came several times before the boys were done with them. While Kharis had as much stamina as DuMont did and was just as active, at some point Sanoh’s legs gave out and she simply lay there on the floor in a perpetual orgasm trance as Rupert pumped her full of his warmth and kept going like a machine, finally collapsing on top of her, breathing as if he’d run five miles in a minute.
DuMont was the last to reach his peak, gushing into Kharis, his seed pooching her stomach and dripping out of her, down his legs, and splattering onto the floor. For a solid minute, the room was quiet, safe for a lot of heavy breathing.
Finally, as they all caught their breath, the re-entered the bath to wash each other.
“Kharis, you’re bleeding,” Sanoh said, pointing. There was a very large bite in her shoulder, and it was rather deep.
“Oh,” DuMont said, flustered by worry. “I… I’m so sorry.”
“It’s okay, big guy,” She reassured him. “I wanted you to do it. It’s proof.”
“Proof?” He echoed, his brow furrowed.
“That I belong to you,” She said simply. “Help me wash it.”
As rough as DuMont had been, his gentleness in tending the wound was a mirror opposite. Rupert and Sanoh sat cuddled together and watched fondly as DuMont lovingly treated and bandaged Kharis’s shoulder.
“Don’t worry, DuMont,” Rupert said. “Sanoh marked me, too.” He turned and showed DuMont a bite on his left shoulder blade. “And Sanoh’s bites can be venomous. I was sick for a week.”
“I said I was sorry,” She said reproachfully. “It was the heat of the moment, I couldn’t help it.”
“Yeah, yeah,” He said, hugging her in close and kissing her forehead.
“Does it hurt?” DuMont asked Kharis.
“Not really,” She said. “I’m sure it will tomorrow when the sex high has worn off, but I feel great right now. And it’ll scar up nicely, I think.”
“I’m sorry!” DuMont said, hiding his face.
“Honey, it’s okay!” She said, pulling his hands down. “I like it! It lets everyone who sees it know that I’m yours. Don’t you want people to know that you and I are in love?”
“Well… yes…” He said, frowning.
“There, see? It’s all fine.” She went up and hugged his neck. “Don’t fuss so much. I’m fine.”
He pulled her back and fixed her with a glare. “No kissing other people.”
She grinned at him. “I won’t, I promise. It was just an experiment.” She winked at Sanoh, who stuck her tongue between her teeth as she smirked. “And I’d say it was successful.”
DuMont grumbled. “I didn’t like it.”
She patted his face and kissed his exposed jaw. “I won’t do it again.”
“Okay,” He said, seemingly satisfied, and he pulled her into an embrace, careful of her shoulder.
The wound healed up really quickly, and Kharis took to wearing asymmetrical shirts, so that she could show it off. Most assumed that it was a grievous injury from a wild beast, and Kharis would laugh and say that was partly right.
Sanoh and Rupert didn’t engage in sex around the two of them again, but it was definitely something they kept in the back of their mind. For a rainy day, maybe.

Why were you here again?
Oh right, cause you’re a giant nerd who needs an outlet.
The poster had caught your eye when you were headed to lunch one day. It was a beige poster with a 20 sided dice in the middle. That was what got your attention.
You had played Dungeons and Dragons with some of your friends before. It has been a few months since your last campaign and you didn’t know when the next one would start. So, in fear of not being able to escape to a fantasy world, you decided to check it out.
It was now 3:45 in the afternoon. School had ended 15 minutes ago, the hours ticking by slowly. You now stood outside of the AP Government classroom where Mr. Jung taught.
The poster, you remembered, said that Mr. Jung would oversee the club. He was your favorite teacher because he was funny and the class was enjoyable.
Finally, you slowly opened the door to the classroom and stepped in. In the middle of the room, a few desks had been pushed together to create a large table.
Sitting around the table were seven boys who were all staring at you. You awkwardly shifted your weight from one foot to the other, waiting for literally anyone to say something.
“Is this the d&d club?” You finally spoke.
“Y-yes,” the only boy who was standing said. You recognized him as Mark Lee. The cute, smart boy from calculus. “Yes, uh, grab a seat.”
You nodded and dragged a chair over to the only empty spot at the table. It was right next to Chenle, the loud basketball player you shared chemistry with.
“Well I’m pretty sure that we all know each other,” Mark said clearing his throat. “I’m not gonna make us do ice breakers cause literally no one likes those.”
“I do!” Haechan, the class clown that you also shared chemistry with.
“Only you,” Jeno, the star basketball player and probably the last person you expected here, commented. Haechan pouted and stuck his tongue out at Jeno.
“Anyway,” Mark said. “It’s my fist time DMing, but I have played before. Just so I know, who here has played before?”
You, along with Jisung, the quiet kid from history, Haechan, and Renjun, the kid from math who doesn’t do math but draws, raised your hands. Mark seemed to relax a bit when he saw there were at least a few experienced players.
“Well I guess this first meeting will be going over rules and how to play, then next time we’ll do character sheets,” Mark said.
———
It was now the third session and the first one of the start of you campaign. Last time, everyone made their characters, the atmosphere becoming less tense as time went on.
You made your character an Elf Wizard, something you’ve never played before. Everyone else had their own unique character combos, having fun coming up with the most ridiculous names for them.
Today, the party was slightly buzzing with excitement to finally start their campaign. You all gathered around the table giving character introductions, ready to get this show on the road.
Three hours, several rolls for initiative, and Haechan’s character almost dying later, Mr. Jung had to finally kick you all out of the building. The sun had already set and he was letting you way past what was allowed.
You realized how late it actually was and scrambled to get your stuff. You said a quick goodbye to the boys and Mr. Jung and sped off to get home before your parents killed you.
You get a ways down the hall when you heard someone running behind you.
“Y/n, wait up!” You turned to see Mark jogging to catch up with you. He stopped in front of you, breathing slightly harder. “Hi.”
“Hi,” you said back, smiling at the cute boy. You’ve never really had a full conversation with Mark. He’s quiet and, honestly, talking to someone attractive was a bit out of the realm of your comfort zone.
“C-can I have your number?” He said. Your eyes went wide and as did his when he realized what that sounded like. “So that I can add you to the group chat! Just in case anyone can’t make it or we cancel.”
“Yea, sure,” you said, slightly disappointed. You heard Mark exhale probably in relief that his save worked. You handed him your phone with your number displayed on the screen and he quickly put it in his.
“Thanks,” Mark said, handing you back your phone. You both stood there in the most suffocatingly awkward silence ever.
“Well bye,” you said turning to leave.
“Oh! Yea, uh, bye,” Mark said waving slightly. He turned back towards Mr. Jung’s room and you saw the other six boys crowded around. They were all giggling as Mark shoved that back into the room.
———
Six sessions and three weeks later, any morsel of awkwardness was gone. It was like you have known these seven boys your whole life.
The group chat blew up your phone with memes from that days session but didn’t you mind? No. Though sometimes at ungodly hours in the mornings, you still enjoyed the content.
On this particular day, you weren’t going to be able to join the session. Your calculus teacher was making you stay after school and retake a test that you failed miserably. You felt bad when you hand to text the group.
You: I can’t make it today
Haechan☀️: whyyyyyyy
You: I failed a calc test
You: I have to retake it
Lele🐬: thats stupid
Sungie: good luck Y/n
Injunie: yea gl
You: thanks boys
Marker: hey if you need any help studying for calc, I’d be happy to
jeNO: oh?
You: yea I’d like that, thanks
Minnie: ann I oop-
You laughed at Jaemin’s comment as you made your way to your calculus teachers classroom.
———
Considering the second time you took the test you barely past by the seat of your pants, you took Mark up on his offer to tutor you.
Today was the first day Mark was going to tutor you in the library. You walked in and saw him already set up at one of the tables in the very back.
“Hey,” you whispered. He smiled at you as you sat down next to him.
“Hey,” he said back. “Ready to get started?”
After about an hour and a half of Mark explaining different theorems to you, you were finally starting to get it. Whenever you asked a question, Mark would take the time to explain it to you carefully, making sure you got it along the way.
When he would give you a problem to solve, and you got it right, both of you would get excited, annoying the librarian. She ended up shushing you more than once.
“Hey, you hungry?” Mark asked.
“Not really,” you said. As if on cue, your stomach slightly growled, making Mark laugh. You looked down at your stomach, a pout on your face. “Traitor.”
“Come on,” Mark said between giggles. “Let’s get something to eat.”
You got your things and headed out of the library with Mark to get food.
———
For the next three weeks, this became your tradition. On the days the D&D club wasn’t meeting, you and Mark would study calculus in the library for about two hours, and then go get food. It always felt like a lot less time with Mark, him always making it enjoyable.
Today, you had a study session with Mark. As you neared the library, you noticed him standing outside the doors on his phone.
“Hey, what are you doing?” You asked. “I have a test tomorrow.”
“I know,” Mark said putting his phone away. “But you need a break.”
“Mark-“ you whined.
“No,” he said. “I think that you’re ready. You’ve made a lot of progress over the last couple weeks. Besides, they say you shouldn’t study the night before a test.”
“I don’t think that’s a thing,” you said crossing your arms.
“Maybe, I don’t know,” Mark said waving it off. “But, I do know that you’ve worked hard and whatever grade you get, I’m proud of you.”
You could feel your cheeks heating up at Mark’s words. You bit back a smile as he continued.
“So tonight we are not studying,” Mark said grabbing your hand and leading you away from the library. “We are going to the basketball game with the others to cheer on Chenle and Jeno.”
You didn’t protest as Mark led you down to the packed gym and over to where the rest of the boys were sat, waiting for the game to start.
———
After the game where your boys won, the party went out for dinner. Afterwards, Mark drove you home, the two of you talking about the game, D&D, or literally anything.
When Mark pulled into your driveway, he insisted on walking you to your steps. He said it was the gentlemanly thing to do.
“Hey,” Mark said when you got to your front door. “Good luck tomorrow.”
“Thanks,” you said.
“Tell me how it goes, ok?” He said. You nodded giving him a smile that he returned. “Good night.”
“Night,” you called after him as he went to his car.
———
At the end of the day, your calculus teacher had finished grading the tests. She told everyone to come pick them up before they left school.
When she handed your test to you, she had a big smile on her face. She made a comment about how nicely you did and how much you improved. When you finally saw the grade, you nearly passed out.
You practically ran to Mr. Jung’s room. D&D was today and you wanted to show Mark you grade. You arrived at his classroom, bouncing into the room.
“Well someone looks happy,” Jaemin commented.
“Did something mean happen?” Jisung asked. You stuck your tongue out at the younger boy making everyone laugh.
You made you way to Mark at the head of the table, him watching you with a smile. When you reached him, you slapped the paper with a big 90% scribbled at the top down in front of him.
“All thanks to you,” you said as he continued to stare at the paper.
“I told you so,” Mark said standing up. He caught you by surprise when he gave you a hug. “I’m proud of you.”
“Ugh, just date already,” Haechan commented from his chair. You and Mark pulled apart making a face at the boy, but avoiding each other’s eyes.
It’s not that you were entirely opposed to dating Mark. You just didn’t know if he felt the same way. And he didn’t. Right?
———
You and Mark continued your study sessions even after you proved you didn’t need to. You both agreed that it was to benefit both of you and not just an excuse to hang out.
One day, while walking out of calculus with Renjun, the boy made a comment that rocked your world.
“He likes you, ya know,” Renjun said.
“W-what,” you sputtered turning to him.
“Mark, he likes you,” He clarified. “I know like bro code, I’m not supposed to tell you or whatever, but I see the way you two look at each other. We all do. You should ask him out. He’d say yes.”
You stopped dead in your tracks thinking for a second. On one hand, this plan that you were formulating could embarrass you. On the other, you could get a date with your dungeon master / calculus tutor / crush.
“Y/n?” Renjun said turning to you. You quickly turned on your heel and made a mad dash for Mark’s locker. “Y/n!”
———
As you speed walked to Mark, you saw him in the distance talking to Jeno and Jaemin. Mark spotted you coming to him and waved at you.
“Hey, Y/n what’s-“
“Do you want to go an a date with me?” You said quickly.
“W-what?” Mark said.
“Jeno, I think that’s our cue,” Jaemin said dragging Jeno away.
“Do you want to go in a date with me?” You asked again, slower this time. Mark looked at you wide eyed, like a dear in headlights.
“A-a date?” He asked. You nodded, not trusting your voice not to shake. “Wow.”
“Wow?” You asked.
“Sorry! Sorry, I just never thought you’d ask and I’d have to do it,” Mark said. “But yes, I’d love to go on a date.”
“Oh thank god,” you said leaning against the lockers. Mark laughed at your dramatic reaction. He wrapped his arm around your shoulder and turned you around to walk to lunch. As you turned, you and Mark stopped and saw the six other members of your party standing there amused.
“God, finally,” Haechan said.
“Took you long enough,” Chenle said.
As the eight of you walked to lunch, the boys continued to tease you and Mark. But when you looked up at him with his arm still around your shoulder, the teasing didn’t matter when Mark smiled at you.

Heard you wanted to talk about your new ocs?
-What are their hobbies/interests?
-Do they have any regrets?
(wow huge jump there-)
YES OKAY- I should probably explain stuff about the story first so this makes sense but whatever.
This got long
Arlen (a human girl, she/her, living with Adore in a fantasy world, having been teleported here from the real world) - Arlen loves reading and learning things, a classic dnd nerd, so you can imagine that when she was dumped here she immediately was all over asking questions about the land and the history, and just so fuckin excited. Her regret would be that she ended up dragging her best friend Kell here with her. She knows Kell isn't good with new environments and new people, she was just so excited and figured they'd end up together. She can't find them anywhere, she's just so worried about them getting into serious trouble.
Kell/Kelly (a human kid, they/them, who got pushed in the portal by Arlen, landing with Duncan and Amira.) - Kell listens to music and generally follows Arlen around mostly, she's their only friend and they're always just going with the flow. They play dnd with Alren in their little group, and they play other rpg games as well, but definitely isn't into them as much as Arlen is. Their regret would probably be that they were always too cold to other people. Here they are, dumped into a whole new world with no way to defend themselves, no way to get home, and no way to know what the fuck is out there. They could die here, they could die here and they'd die alone. They never made any friends aside from Arlen, and they were always so distant with their family. If they died here, they would be dying comepletely and utterly alone, and for once they're really truly scared of that fact.
Adore (a witch infused with magic, she/her, she lives in a cute little cottage in the woods, doing her magic and staying away from the neighboring towns. A cottagecore lesbian) - She loves to garden! She has a huge flower patch behind her house, with planted fruit trees, vegetables, and a whole slew of other things. She does use magic to help the dying plants, but mostly she does all her gardening by hand. She also likes to make potions, mostly stuff for plants or protection, but occasionally she'll experiment a bit. Her regret would be never leaving her cottage. She knows she's strong, she knows she could handle herself out in the woods, but she's too frightened to even step past the front porch. She knows she's missed so much, and she could've helped so many people if she just got some guts. Which is why she's so determined to help Arlen find her friend and get her home. She's dead set on finally doing something worthwhile.
Duncan (a half elf scholar, they/him, stressed out of their mind and suffering a great deal from overworking himself so hard, they're quite snippy. He's Amira's best friend, and plans to be for a long time coming.) - Duncan obviously likes to write. But that hasn't been working out too well for them. They also like to draw and dance, but he's so dead set on getting this writing done for himself that they're working themself to the ground and ruining their love of writing in the process. His biggest regret would be delving himself so deep into his work. They've lived so long with Amira, they figured she'd always be by his side, but recently she's been pulling away from him. They know logically that's they're own fault, and they can't bear the thought of losing Amira and being comepletely on his own, so he's using Kell's quest to get home as an opportunity to finally take a break and get themself back to reality.
Amira (a turned vampire, she/it, Duncan's best friend, always trying to get Duncan back to themself and failing miserably. It's not a very happy camper ever since Duncan started ignoring her.) - Amira fucking loves to hunt. Not just for food, and not huge endangered animals, beasts that terrorize towns and kill innocent people, deranged terrifying monsters. Not only is it a thrill, the chase, the fight, the adrenaline, the triumph, it also brings a good meal along with it. It also likes to dance, it used to dance with Duncan all the time, before they started ignoring her. Its regret would be letting Duncan drive himself so far into the ground without intervening. Duncan had distanced themself and started being a little rude with her, at first her walls had gone up and she'd stormed out the house, pissed out of its mind. But after a month or so it came back to reconcile, and realized it was so much worse than it thought before. Now she's trying to make up for what it let happen, pulling Duncan along with her and Kell to go on this quest, hopefully they can reconcile then.
Ross (a former elven knight, she/him, kicked out of the guard for the murder of a higher officer. Lives in a pathetic little tent deep in the woods, having nowhere else to go. 100% a butch lesbian.) Ross likes to fight. Mostly recreationally of course. Using trees as dummies to slash and kill. She never actually hurts the trees, just clang clangs her sword against it. He also likes to run. He doesn't now, since he's too afraid he might run and get lost away from his tent, but sometimes he'll pace around his campsite for hours at a time to get the energy out. Her regret would absolutely be that she never questioned authority. She was born into the guard, having been a squire at age 5 and a fledgling knight at age 11. By 24 she was the head of two fleets, following every order given to him, no matter how gruesome or grave. But one day after being called to his higher ups office, she's attacked and almost killed, and in order to save himself she kills the man instead. The head of the whole guard banished her, going so far as to strip him of his armor and sword. But he slipped a second *cough* better *cough* sword into his clothes as he was thrown out. He sees now that he was simply a pawn. Perhaps she could've used her power to do more good while she still had it, had it not been for the brainwashing she had gone through from birth. Eventually Adore and Arlen stumble upon his campsite, and he promises his duty to both of them, ensuring that he'd never ever let anyone do any unnecessary harm ever again.

Severus arrived half an hour late. His strides were as long as usual and his black cloak billowed around him as he moved through the entrance, towards the massive staircase leading to the upper levels of Malfoy Manor. It had been nearly three months since he met anyone, apart from Draco, from the Malfoy family and usually, he would have preferred it that way.
Not now. Not anymore.
He arrived at the ballroom filled with voices and music of the classical type with a dark twist. His eyes scanned the room, scanned the faces and his heart sunk. He crashed and burned yet all that revealed his disappointment outwards was a slight slump to his shoulders. Barely noticeable.
"Ah, Severus," Lucius strode over; a few men dressed in varying darkly coloured suits left behind to finish the conversation. Severus gave a curt nod as Lucius grabbed a glass of red wine from a passing house elf in despicable rags.
"You're late," he said in that high tone of his, "trouble?" Severus nearly gave him a tight smile that screamed none of your business. He was not about to spill the fact that he had pondered arriving at all the last five hours; just to eventually arriving at the conclusion that he wanted to see her once more. If only for a second. If only to bury the restlessness; the foolish thoughts.
"I am merely late, Lucius," he drawled, "I have other things that require my attention. As you know," he continued and Lucius seemed to want to question further about the reason of Severus late arrival but the cold glare of Severus harsh eyes seemed enough to discourage him. "Well come, enjoy yourself," Lucius said and gave a slow nod before returning to the men in dark coloured suits a few steps away.
Severus swept with his eyes around the room again, he took a crystal tumbler of whiskey infused with oakwood smoke from a passing house elf and swirled the content softly before sniffing it and then took a gulp. The liquid burned its way down his throat and it felt good. He stepped away from the entrance, headed towards the bar and balcony doors at the other end of the giant room.
She's not here, not here after all. The thought was harsh yet felt like the final thing. Like an end and perhaps a beginning fo something. He raised his second tumbler of whiskey, this one with a hint of ash and cherry, to his mouth for another swallow. He nearly choked on the liquid.
The doors had opened and she had stepped in; accompanied by some young brute with blond hair wearing a moss green suit. But he did not spare him more than a glance as she was commanding his attention so intensely. Her simple black dress hugged her curves, her hair was half up, half down. Blood red rubies hung from her earlobes and around her neck. They shimmered against her pale skin and he was mesmerized once again.
She, Arabella Malfoy, was truly the most beautiful creature he had ever laid eyes on. His blood heated, something slithered and fluttered in him as his eyes wandered from the top of her platinum blond her all the way down to the black, studded heels. Her long, naked legs were never-ending and her hips swayed heavenly, or in a hellish way, as she walked into the room.
The man that accompanied her gave a swift kiss to her cheek before he left her in the care of Lucius. Something heated and burned in him at the sight. He had to clench the tumbler so as to not reach for his wand and end the miserable life form right then and there for touching her flawless skin with his filthy mouth.
Yes, he knew him now that he spared him more than a single glance in bypass. Rovius Dox, keep your filthy existence away from her. You slithering beast.  Images of crying women, a wicked smile with bloodstained lips and eyes without empathy or remorse invaded Severus's mind as Rovius Dox walked around the room; greetings were given and taken here and there. But Severus never greeted the man. Severus found him, well, intolerable and despicable.
He was as mad as Bellatrix, as well breed as they came and as wicked as the Bloody Baron had been in his life - perhaps even worse than the murdering man of love. Rovius Dox was quite frankly a man not to deal lightly with, not that Severus feared the man - he was still just a youngling, but any woman he fancied usually ended up crawling away in tattered clothes with bruised and battered skin.
The thought of those filthy hands and lips touching Arabella made his blood roar with fury. It boiled and burned in his body as his hands wanted to snake against his wand to end the man. Yet he did not. He stood still and watched. Watched her. Constantly.
Time went by. She danced with varying men, chatted with different women, played with a cat, drank some wine, laughed with Narcissa, smiled at Rovius. Severus kept his mouth shut, not even the tumbler of whiskey reached his mouth as the hours passed and he remained in the shadows at the outskirts of the room. Nearly hidden away from all the people in the room.
He studied her. Well, looked at her intently was probably a more correct way of saying it. It took all his strength not o go up to her, grab her, haul her away from all others. He kept his feet rooted and his back stiff, as to not give in tot he temptation. After all, I merely wanted to see her again. His thought felt dark and lonely and he finally drained the remains of the damn whiskey.
When he lowered the tumbler from his lips his heart skipped a beat. She had spotted him as the crystal had gleamed in the candlelight from a candelabra not far away from his comforting shadows. He stood frozen, absolutely still as she gazed at him with unflinching eyes. After a moment he nodded; ever so slowly and a smile spread out across her lush lips that were painted crimson red with lipstick.
His eyes did not leave the sight of her as she folded away her own gaze. She walked slowly through the room as he counted each step as a heartbeat. She passed over the dancing floor, passed men and women, swiftly avoided conversations and offers of dances. Her eyes did not meet his again; she simply opened the balcony doors and he followed. As silent and swift as a lurking shadow.
She bathed in moonlight. It made her pale skin shine, the black velvet of her dress shimmered and the red rubies glistened. She stood by the railing of stone, her hands folded one above the other as they rested there as still as fallen snow on chilled ground. He closed the doors behind them and silence fell. Heavy and think.
His heart pounded and he felt foolish, silly even. But had he not waited for nearly three months to lay eyes upon her again? Had he not writhed in agony for not seeing that pale skin up close again? And, had he not, dreamt of those grey eyes every other night as they peered through him as if he were made of glass? He had. There was no denying it.
"Don't play coy, Mr Snape," she said in that singsong voice of her's as she turned her head halfway so he could see her profile. He stiffened. Swallowed; ever so slowly. Something twisted in him as her lips perked up in a smile. Told him she knew the effect she had on him. "My apologies," he said with a gruff voice as he took two steps closer to her. But he dared not take a third. He dared not be within reaching of her. Dared not be close enough to stroke her bare arm or push down the spaghetti straps that held the tight fabric up.
"You were hiding?" Her voice was low yet clear and he averted his gaze for a moment as she looked forward again. He wanted to reach out and stroke that soft hair that swayed in the breeze. "No," he said darkly, "merely observing," he continued. She chuckled and it vibrated through him like thunder. Made his blood boil and heat spread in the most indecent areas of his body. "Liar," she said in a harsh tone that still felt as if she caressed his ears with tenderness.
"I am not one to socialize," he said and allowed his gaze to land upon her yet again. She turned towards him, standing in profile yet her face fully towards him. She was framed by moonlight and the wide landscaped garden behind her that gave way to forests and hills. "I'm aware, there's been so many damn parties, so many gatherings and boring dinners that I've lost track. You never came," her voice went from singsong light to softly cold. But her gaze held his and he could not for the life of him avert his eyes as she spellbound him in a non-magical sense.
Severus tilted his head slightly as she bit her bottom lip; as if she held back words that were on the tip of her, no doubt, delicate tongue. Had she, perhaps, wanted to see him again too? Was that even a possibility? He did not know and dared not dwell on the dark thought for too long.
"I waited you know," she continued after letting her lip spring free, "I waited and hoped. You never came," she breathed out, he took that third step towards her without thinking. His body moved of its own accord to be closer to that beautiful creature that captivated his cold heart with a raging fire. "Your reason?" His voice was a low growl as uncertainty travelled through his stiff body.
She raised her brows in surprise and then her face softened. "Why, you ask?" He nodded. She shook her head and rolled her eyes. Had anybody else done that he would have snarled at them but not when she did it. "I thought that was obvious? What we felt. Oh don't look so shocked, I know you felt it too!" She took a step towards him and he stood so still, so so very still. She leaned towards him, close to his hight in those ridiculously high heels that he could not resist thinking about; along with her legs wrapped around him.
"I know you felt it," she hissed as her cheeks glowed red, "I know you did. Don't lie about it. Don't hide it," she kept going as he looked at her. Saw her skin take on a rosy tinge and it occurred to him, her skin had not varied in shade all through the evening. Not when complemented. Not when dancing with handsome and not so handsome men. Not when women praised her figure, her hair or dress. Not once had she blushed. Not once had she done anything other than simply smile.
"You are blushing, Arabella," Severus said in that hoarsely rough voice he never used. He ha used her given name without thinking as he had done so many times in his mind the past month. Her eyes widened and she leaned back as she looked away to the side. Her hands fisted by her sides.
"Well I'm so damn sorry for what you do to me then," she snarled and it made his lips tug upwards in a small smile. Why? He had no idea but something satisfied him about her behaviour at that moment. Perhaps it was simply the fact that she behaved differently from how she had been the past hours in the ballroom.
"You never blush," he continued and she softened with a sigh. As if she realized that he had indeed been watching her ever so carefully. "No, I don't," she whispered, "only, only for you..." The words made him shiver and his knees grew a tad weak. But he kept still, rooted tot eh spot as he grappled after any strength he could find to keep his hands at bay by his sides so as to not reach out and touch her. But it made no difference as he craved to feel her desperately. Like a burning man craved water, a drowning man crave air, a freezing man craved heat.
"I do not socialize, or celebrate trivial things like a new year," Severus said hoarsely as he reached out his hand towards her chin to still that raging need to feel her in some way, "but I came here, for you." He turned her face towards his own. His cold fingers against her warm chin. Their eyes met and he could not help but burn for her. Burn, freeze, drown - all for her. "For, me?" He nodded and she blushed deeper. The wind tossed her hair about and goosebumps covered her fair skin. It made him uncomfortable to see her so unprotected.
"Are you cold?" She shrugged her shoulders slightly and he sighed. "Here," he said as he shed his large cloak and swung it around her like a black cloud. It swallowed her up like night swallows day. She hugged the fabric to her and he noticed her smelling the shoulder of it. It made him stiffen, worried. "Smells like you," she whispered softly, so soft was her voice that he barely heard her. "Apologies," he muttered and she chuckled. "Don't, it's the greatest smell... I want to curl up in it," she mused and stroked the fabric that buried her little arms as she closed her eyes on a sigh. If he could have sprouted wings he would have taken to the skies to quench the tremors in him from her loving words.
Something pushed him, pressed him, poked at him and shoved. He was itching to grab her, to hold her. Feel her close, oh so close. "Arabella," she looked up, "may, may I hold you?" The question was packed with insecurity and fear. His voice was not that of his own and he hated it. But with her all things were different. And that, he loved. She smiled sweetly and nodded slowly. His chest heaved and in the next moment, he cradled her to him. Felt how something exploded, something else imploded and something else went utterly still. It was a raging storm of emotions, feelings and sensations that nearly made him physically sway from the impact.
He leaned his head against the side of her's as his arms wrapped tightly around her lush body. She shivered and he sighed. So this is what you feel like, to hold... "Severus?" His breath caught as that was the first time she had uttered his given name; like fuel to the raging storm inside him, it made him tremble ever so slightly. It sounded otherworldly as it came from her. "Yes?" "Don't let go," she hummed and he hugged her tighter. Held her closer. Pressed her to himself as if life depended on it while that storm raged in his chest; a storm of thunder and lightning as burning as dragonfire. As he struggled to stay in reality and not cave to the fantasy that allowed him to be with her like this to the end of time.

I hope you enjoyed the second part of this little fic :D I find it quite fun to write actually and it's nice to change from the Reader POV as well from time to time - to write with more fixed lines so to say ^^
I must admit that I considered a very different ending for this second part as I was wondering if I should do a third part as well since I actually have a very dramatic idea in mind for how this could end but I don't know - do you guys like this end as it is or do you want more? ^^
Please, heart, share and feel free to comment as much as you want! I LOVE COMMENTS - to hear what my readers think is amazing and spurs me to write more! :D Thank you for your time <3

Upendi
Tumblr media
Pairing: Kíli x Reader
Word count: 2,475
Warnings: None
Synopsis: Kíli's actions may be reckless but you have never regretted following him once.
Author’s note: The story was vaguely inspired by the song Upendi from the Lion King 2!
Tumblr media
The path which led to the lake was narrow, covered in soft needles fallen from the nearby trees and an occasional cone there and there. Stepping on the latter was rather painful, especially considering the fact that your feet were bare and in the dim light of the moon you could not see all of them clearly. There were few quiet ouches leaving past your lips before you finally reached your destination, the place you wanted to see since you left your home with Thorin’s Company—the lake.
As you approached it, now walking down the mossy ground, you could not stop staring at the reflections dancing on the waters’ surface, the moon swaying to the sides as if it was dancing rhythmically to the melody only it could hear. High bulrushes were growing at the southern shore, perfectly hiding the shallow waters from the eyes of any curious passersby, if there would only be any. The forest in which The Company decided to rest for tonight was peaceful and welcoming, much different than the magical lands you wandered through, full of dangerous and wild creatures you have never seen before.
Placing your shoes at the sandy coast, you took off the tunic and looked around to make sure that nobody was following you for the last time. You would never suspect any of the loyal and honourable Dwarves of such a thing, however… you had your doubts about Thorin’s nieces. Very reasonable ones. You did not want to have your clothes stolen for the sake of some kind of joke, that is why you decided it would be better to be safe than sorry and hid the tunic in the nearby bushes. If something happened, you would at least have one piece of fabric to cover yourself up.
Turning around, you took few steps forward to check whether the water was cold or not with your toes. Considering the fact that the latest days were unbearably hot, it should be warm and you craved a bath too much to withdraw now. It was your evening, you deserved it after killing few vicious orcs which were chasing The Company. There was still dirt and black blood in your hair and under the nails, you probably smelled of sweat and the grass stains on your clothes certainly did not add anything positive to your overall miserable look. Cold or not, you needed a solid bath.
“It may not be as hot as you, but I can assure you that it’s quite nice.”
You turned your head to the right so suddenly that you almost felt the cramp in the muscles. To your surprise, there was a pair of dark eyes staring at you from above the enormous rock and the familiar smile spreading on the lips of the person you recognized immediately.
Kíli observed you with the amused expression, his elbows resting on the rock as the lower half of his body must have still been in the water. For a moment he reminded you of a mermaids you heard the stories about and the image of him weaving his chubby fish-like tail almost made you lighten up. Almost, for the initial thought which could explain his presence here was nowhere near funny for you, and so, you asked:
“Where is Fíli?”
Kíli pouted.
“Am I not enough company for you?”
“I don’t want any company, I want to take a bath!”
“Well then, that makes two of us.” Even in the dim light you could see him wiggling his eyebrows at you.
“Oh, please…”
Resting your hands on the hips, you looked at him. You would have to be blind to not notice the way he was talking to you, flirting with you, charming you every day in almost every moment. For some reason, the young prince grew fond of you and the thought itself was quite flattering, you had to admit, but it did not change the fact that you were not sure whether his uncle would approve your relationship. Kíli’s feelings were returned, very much so, but no matter how much you adored him, you were still just a human.
The possibility of never truly being with him broke your heart.
“Come on,” he encouraged, his voice suddenly losing the frivolous tone and becoming purely sympathetic instead. “The water is warm, I promise.”
You smiled, seeing the way the moonlight reflected in his eyes. You knew that he observed you, when you took off the rest of your clothes and placed them on the sand, you could feel his gaze ghosting over your body, remembering it and caressing with the delicacy of his loving heart. Eventually, you went in the water, first to the ankles’ level, then calves, thighs, hips and waist. Bending your knees, you sunk into the lake deep enough so only your head was above the surface.
Indeed, the water was warm.
“Now, you ruined the whole show,” Kíli sighed theatrically and shook his head slightly.
“How so?” You approached him so close, that you could rest your arms on the opposite side of the rock and look at him in the eyes. “I thought I was not your type.”
Kíli blinked few times, apparently confused.
“Excuse me?”
“I’ve heard exactly what you said during the dinner in Rivendell,” you teased, content that for once you were the reason for the adorable, puzzled expression on his face and not the other way around. “How did it go? I’m not fond of those maids because of their thin figure, creamy skin and what else?”
“I did not mean that!”
“Of course you didn’t.”
“Besides,” he frowned, solemn. “You are far more magnificent than even the greatest of Elf maids.”
The way he said those words proved you that he really believed in them. There was no false, no bad intentions, just the overwhelming adoration and sincere truth.
Slowly, Kíli reached to you above the rock which was now irritatingly separating you two, and stroked your cheek. He smiled when you leaned to his hand, responsive for his touch and loving the way his fingers felt against your skin.
“You are perfect to me,” he confessed quietly. “And I love, love your high cheekbones.”
Kissing the inner side of his palm was another way to hide the amusement which painted on your face, the undeniable proof of the effect his words had upon you. It surprised you when he suddenly moved back, taking his hand away from you and diving in the lake, the cheeky expression not fading until his head went completely underwater.
Turning around, you tried to look for him, perfectly aware of whatever kind of shenanigans he was up to, but spotting his dark hair in the equally black water was impossible. You did not move, firmly standing your ground near the rock and ready to either hold it for your life or even immediately jump out of the lake on it if needed. You knew how much he and the other members of The Company enjoyed playing in water, splashing around with a lot of roaring laughs, competitions and challenges, that is why you were expecting the worst already—to get splashed or pulled underwater or tickled with some kind of seaweeds or any other unpleasant, slimy thing. What you did not expect, however, was that Kíli would eventually emerge from the water right in front of you, so close that your chests were almost touching, and do it carefully and slowly, keeping an eye contact with you until he stood straight on the sandy ground below your feet.
Droplets of water were running down his hair, long strands now clinging to his cheeks, forehead, shoulders and back. Some of the beads fell down, back to the lake, trailing the various wet lines on his body, while the others rested in the curly hair on his strong arms and chest, slightly reflecting the pale moonlight just like his eyes were. It was not the first time when you saw him half-naked but definitely the first time when you were so close to each other in such a state.
“Admiring the view, my dear?” he teased, apparently noticing the look in your eyes.
You could only hope that he did not somehow notice how dry did your mouth became all of a sudden.
Before you could think of any proper answer or wit comeback, he gently took your hand and pulled you after him, saying:
“Come with me, there’s something I want to show you.”
You agreed, partly grateful that he did not decide to continue this discussion you had no chance of winning, not after showing such an obvious interest in him. Still, you were curious about his idea, you could not deny that those were often quite dangerous but no less fascinating and always led to something worth remembering. It was impossible to refuse, especially when you remembered what he told you few days ago, when you followed him to one of the apparently abandoned caves to look for the hidden treasures, most likely forgotten by their rightful owners. The place stank of fear and the quick possibility of getting eaten alive by some vicious creatures but before Kíli went down the cave, he looked at you in the eyes and swore:
“Don’t be afraid, I won’t let anything bad to happen to you.”
He kept that promise, as he always did.
This time, you followed him to the eastern shore, walking through the shallow waters and carefully taking every step just in case there would be sharp rocks on the bottom. Either there were none or you managed to dodge all of them, eventually you found yourself standing in front of the enormous pile of rocks, half drowned in the lake, and that was the place where Kíli stopped and turned back to you, still not letting go of your hand.
“Do you trust me?” he asked firmly.
“What kind of question is that?” You frowned at how serious his voice was. “Of course I do, but–“
“No buts! Keep that thought in mind and follow me, alright? Can you hold your breath?”
“It depends on why—Kíli, what do you want to do?” You were growing more and more suspicious but somehow with him by your side it was not anxiety which overwhelmed you, but rather excitement. He would never risk your life, that was for sure, so you had no real reasons to be afraid. Somewhere deep in your heart you knew that if he had to, he would risk his life for your safety without hesitation also.
Mahal, how could you not fall for him?
“You won’t regret it,” he assured you, now cheerful back again, as he knew that you would not turn away now.
“It doesn’t answer my question in the slightest.”
“Just trust me. Look, do you see this very ominous, dark hole under water, right there?” Kíli pointed a finger at the place where the pile of rocks was touching the lake’s surface and drowning deeper.
You nodded, not wholly convinced if you wanted to see it.
“We’ll have to dive in there, swim under the rock and then we’ll reach something absolutely fantastic! You’ve never seen anything like that before, I can assure you.”
His enthusiasm was undoubtedly contagious, because soon you found yourself wondering what could wait for you on the other side. Being a human, you were not overly interested in the undergrounds, small and dark spaces appearing as claustrophobic and not even as closely as stunning as the beauty which could be seen on the earth. However, you have spent enough time with Dwarves to learn that once you would get rid of the prejudices and expectations, you could find the greatest treasures and values in the darkest times and places.
And so, you sighed deeply and asked:
“Ladies first?”
Tumblr media
Although you were wary of the time you were supposed to spend underwater, the distance was not even half as long as you thought. Holding your breath and swimming in the darkness while surrounded with nothing but the stones was not the most pleasant experience, you had to admit, but Kíli made sure that you always felt his presence nearby. He helped you to find the surface once you were on the other side and when you caught your breath and blinked, adjusting your sight to the dim light, you realized that you were no longer exposed to the moon—on the contrary, you were inside the cave with roof so high that you wondered if you were still by the same lake. Nevertheless, it was not the mystical passage to that hidden place, nor its size which got you awestruck but the source of the delicate, blue light.
It seemed as if the thousands, millions of tiny lanterns were hanging from the roof and the walls, wet stones reflecting the light and making the whole cave shine as if under a magical spell. Long branches and leaves were reaching down the ground, illuminated reminding you of a colourful jellyfishes, floating in the thin air instead of the water. Or, as you believed for a while, it was you who suddenly learned how to breathe underwater and observed this whole scenery of the world you have never experienced before.
Being to mesmerized by the view in front of you, you could not notice how Kíli’s undivided attention was focused completely on you, on discovering how your features changed when you realized where you were, on how the happiness and surprise changed the way you looked around, on how freely and completely you were yourself in that very moment. He could not even think about the beauty of the surroundings, not when he had you in front of him and the overwhelming love filling his heart.
“How did you know about this place?” you asked, genuinely curious and only then caught his gaze upon you.
“I was roaming.” He shrugged and approached you, the water as bright as the cave’s roof. “It made me think about you.”
“Do you often think about me then?”
“All the time.”
His confession was sincere and to prove that, he placed his hand at the side of your neck, caressing the line of the jaw with his thumb and hungrily eyeing your lips. He wanted to kiss you so badly, to hold you in his arms and never let you go, to stay in this magical place together, where nothing could disturb nor harm you. Instead, he simply leaned to you and rested his cheek at the crook of your neck, feeling how chill and wet your skin was against his.
“I love you,” Kíli whispered and the cave almost swallowed the soft sound of his voice. “You have no idea how much you mean to me, my dear.”

Pathfinder Update
WOOPS ALMOST FORGOT TO PUT A BREAK SORRY ABOUT YOUR DASHBOARD
So, the Ninth Life, Captain Lora’a’s ship, makes good heading towards the once Velakan and now Pragian prison isle. On the eve before the ship arrived Tisiphone produced the Twin Orb, and took Valka through to Bostadt, going with him to “watch over him” while he brewed potions of See Invisible (our trust of Ivan was running ever lower). Once TIsiphone was satisfied that Valka was occupied with making the potions she left to go “take care of some things”.
Valka said for her to say “hi” to Vera for her, and Tisiphone pretended, quite poorly, to say that she would if she did in fact happen to go by the Silver Stag. Tisiphone came back to the Ninth Life the next morning, seemingly a lot calmer and with her carefully washed and braided. It was rare to see her hair so carefully maintained, instead of the usual fluffy mess that it is usually seen in. Tisi had forgotten to buy any further supplies, though. Valka did, however, make the See Invisible potions.
Once the Ninth Life came into view of the prison isle the Stormbreaker let up the wind and cast his gaze at the isle. It noted how the island seemed to have an enchantment about it that caused a permanent effect of rainy weather on the isle, and the construct, seemingly for it’s own amusement, decided that the weather’d be changed to a sunny day, overpowering the local  enchantment. And so on what was now a nice sunny day, Ivan and his companions, and Kii, Valka, Nik, and Tisi took to the rocky shore of the island in dinghys.
The island was a miserable rock, sticking up out of the ocean to the West of the Southerlands/Velakor, with a trio of towers sticking out of its heights, and its structure burrowing into the rocky form of the island. Each tower was armed with a ballista, and to the rear (or rather opposite side of the island from The Ninth Life) was a nice, if modest, manor.
Once we made it to the shore Ivan went ahead and talked with the warden commander and seemed to have legitimate papers and explained the situation at hand. The commander went about readying the island’s defences and Valka whined loudly, convincing the warden commander to let us relax in his place of residence before the fighting began. On our way there we saw the kitchen of the complex (Valka hopefully asked if they could get some food, but it had already been lunch time a bit ago and they weren’t willing to compromise).
So the group ended up at the commander’s place of residence, and were allowed to stay there for the time being, until all the screaming and shouting and terrible, terrible battle began. In the main room was a queer game board, set up to be used with miniature soldiers on a mock field of battle. Tisiphone and Valka could not figure out how to play that so they used the miniature soldiers to play chess, which didn’t go particularly well as there was no grid and they kept arguing over which pieces were where/how they could move. Eventually Tisi went off to check on Kii, who had flitted off into the warden’s study, and found her looking horrified at a set of papers that referred to the isle’s prisoners as by monikers, namely Tile-Liker (a halfling jailed for sex-crimes), Merchant (an elf arrested for evading Pragian taxation [Tisiphone said to leave them, as she had little love for elves]), and, lastly, The Heir. The Heir was a human, seemingly of noble status, and being subject to some of the most terrible treatment imaginable, he was kept bound around the clock, and fed little more than table scraps left over from the previous night’s prepared food. Alongside this he was quite regularly to be beaten and lashed, otherwise being left shackled beneath the kitchen of the isle, in the very midst of the fortress. Kii was tearing up as she realized that this very well may be her brother, and realized the treatment he must have been suffering since the Pragian takeover, this whole while. Valka sent out his Clockwork Spy “Edward” off to find that prisoner and inspect him, to see if we could determine if he was our man. The clockwork spider scuttled off to go investigate.
Meanwhile Valka was raiding the warden commander’s larder, and came to notice a rack of wine bottles, up on a higher shelf. He beckoned over Nik, bidding him to help reach the out-of-reach alcohol. Tisiphone chided him, pointedly saying to keep it for a “libation or celebration” once this was over with. Nik stowed away the booze, and Valka pouted. Edward appeared once more, delivering an audio recording of this “The Heir” prisoner. Within moments of the recording playing Kii knew that it was in fact her brother Roland de Velakor. She was beyond elated. After a bit we reckoned that it was about the time that Jodd the Butcher would be arriving, by the sounds of the commotion outside. Everyone drank their potions of Resist Energy (Electricity) and See Invisible. After doing so Kii froze. There was someone in the room with us. One of Ivan’s men.
Kii lept past Valka (terrifying the poor boy) and electrocuted the spy with a Shocking Grasp before he could realize what precisely was happening. This done, the group headed out, with Valka and Abe splitting off and entering the kitchen, above Roland’s holding chamber to rescue the heir. Kii looked about the room and down past the grate with Valka for a moment, before heading back to join the group. As she reached the front courtyard/beach a HUGE crack of thunder and a blue blur sped by, and one of the island’s towers erupted in an electrical explosion, throwing masonry into the sea, lighting men ablaze, and quite destroying the tower. Jodd and his dragon flew about, landing near where our boats had been landed. He leapt down from the saddle upon the dragon and landed and began roaring furiously at the assembled guards, about  a dozen in total “I am Jodd the Butcher, Dragon Rider, and I have come to take my brother, Roland! If you dare stand before me I will crush you and throw your bodies to the sea!”
Having seen which way the winds were blowing, and realizing their cause was one and the same, Tisiphone, Nik, and Kii opened up on the backline of the guards, Kii herself stabbing and subsequently Force Punching the warden commander off into the sea at such a furious velocity that his body ripped apart with the force of the blow. Given the treatment of Roland, he probably deserved it. Tisiphone gave Jodd a friendly wave after unloading her repeater’s clip into a man. In the kitchen, Valka melted the locks off of the floor hatch separating Roland’s cell from the kitchen, before unspooling some rope, tying it off, and then shimmying down into the cell. He fed Roland a Potion of Critical WOunds which made him quite suddenly more hale and hardy, though it did nothing to replace the lost left arm and right leg (the arm lost at the lower forearm and the leg not too below the knee).
Jodd’s dragon flew to another tower and devoured the men manning the ballista, and Jodd himself charged the guards frontline and pulped a man’s head with his maul. Flushed Jodd tried to say two things at once, instead saying “Fancy meeting you here again!”, and we engaged in what ended up being a rather swift melee against the remaining guards. Beneath, in Roland’s cell, Valka hid, as someone came to the cell door, looked through the vision slot, then closed it and went off. Valka slowly, but surely, undid Roland’s bonds, before picking him up clumsily and preparing to climb up to the upper floor with him. Kii, however, was finished with the combat, and cast a Dimensional Door into the cell and grabbed Roland from Valka, and returned to the shore with him (leaving Valka to haul himself back up to the kitchen).
On the shore, amidst a spread of corpses that was attracting seabirds, beneath a burning tower, a particularly petty sibling spat began, between a powerful spellsword and a mighty dragon rider. Kii and Jodd both claimed that Roland was their brother, and seemed unwilling to settle on letting him be the brother to both of them. Valka and Tisiphone were a bit taken aback, realizing both how terribly their own bickering with their respective siblings must have come across. Eventually, through the intervention of Roland, Tisiphone, and Valka, we came to know that both Kii and Jodd were half-brother to Roland, through their father (the old man got around, seemingly Jodd was born of an adulterous tryst between the king and a Pragian noblewoman, Roland was, of course, the only surviving rightful heir born of royal marriage, and Kii is of course half air spirit).
Now agreed that Roland was brother to both of them, Kii and Jodd were delighted to be in his presence. Kii had made herself known to Roland only as an elusive, young fae thing, existing largely in secret after being delivered unto the kingdom’s door step by her elemental parent. Jodd, meanwhile, seemed to have known about Roland for sometime, but had held his tongue on it for some time. Once he heard of the regicide of the Velakor family, but then heard that Roland may yet still survive, Jodd had taken it upon himself to become someone with the power to do something about it, pouring himself into becoming a dragon rider of Pragia (he was born to Pragian nobility of course) and using that to find and take Roland back, or die trying. Jodd certainly is an impressive physical specimen, but he truly is only 19, and his attitude often shows it. And Kii...she really, really is a little sister (paradoxically she is actually the oldest by age, but we’ve decided to start stating the difference between “age” and “maturity” with fantasy races, as it can all be a bit relative at times). Roland is a 23 year old man, and still young, but his time has certainly aged him a bit prematurely, and left it’s scars on him, physical and mental.
So, the Nik, Tisiphone, and Valka (of course with Tisi and Nik rowing) took the landing boat back to the ship and took the second landing boat with them, as they’d not seen hide nor hair of Ivan and his men aside from the one spy, and were not going to wait for them at all.
Meanwhile, Ivan waited to spring his plot, knowing that the idiots would blunder down to the island’s lower depths to free Roland. The sounds of battle had  died down, so soon enough they would be coming down, by whatever pretenses, to free The Heir, and then he would have rid the world of the last remnants of the de Velakor line. Ivan waited to spring his trap patiently, as slowly it began raining. Ivan and his men would be left on that island until the next supply ship would come by, which may take a up to a year, maybe two.
On the deck of the Ninth Life Captain Valka commanded his servant, the Stormbreaker, to get them away from the wretched island, and so they did. The wine stolen from the warden’s manor was spread about, in celebration of reunited siblings (really, seeing the de Velakors together was heartwarming) and while a drunken Valka came to play against a mildly buzzed Roland (who beat the catfolk handily), Kii approached Tisiphone and asked her about the Southerlander’s clockwork arm, and how she’d come to get it. Tisi took a long draught of the wine and let it come into her system before telling Kii the story, after which Kii asked if she could fashion clockwork limbs for her crippled brother, which of course she agreed to (seeing the young man hobble about was a terrible sight).
Nik, meanwhile, feels a fair bit worse (despite making friends with Jodd’s dragon, Bluon [look he named it when he was like, 10, give him a break]), for his own lack of family. He watches the sea pass by a lot on The Ninth Life’s journey towards the Western Kingdoms (our next destination after a pit stop or two), feeling very lonely as a tiefling among the humans and others aboard the ship.

lmao how/why am i actually still writing this y'all???? anyway, here's the first finished portion of my new Pillars WIP, working title: God's Children Bathe Free. It's gonna be a one-chapter wonder about an old man takin' a bath and having Feelings about it ♡
It was the third Rytlingsdag of the month.
Having been raised in a land of sub-freezing temperatures and a culture that regarded him as more holy symbol than flesh-and-blood man, Vatnir had only ever rarely found himself in the company of the underdressed. Communal bathing was commonplace in many clans to conserve the energy needed to heat bathwater, but bathing alongside ordinary clanmates wasn't an activity befitting the progeny of a god, apparently, so Vatnir had always been obliged to wash by himself, when he bothered at all. (This was all due to piety, of course. Nothing at all to do with how he looked, how he smelled.) And for a brother or sister of the clan to attempt to initiate any kind of inappropriate intimacy with the High Harbinger, to open their robes to him– why, that was unheard of, a perverted act of unforgivable blasphemy. So while he had gotten glimpses here and there over the decades of kith with their chests bared or their trousers around their knees– Hel, back when he'd still had lips, a drunken reveler had even kissed him once, full on the mouth, during a festival– the priest could honestly say he'd seen more dead people in his life than he had naked people.
So to say that his first evening in Neketaka was a bit of shock to him would be somewhat of an understatement.
"Because it's the third Rytlingsdag of the month." That's all she'd said when he'd asked the Duskspeaker why they were here, in this too-crowded, too-loud, too-bright street in the middle of this twisted pile of a city. Though the sun was setting, the streets of Periki's Overlook were more than adequately illuminated by arcane torches, their eerie blue light glinting off of the glittering cobblestone. Vatnir winced against the unnatural glare as he tried to avert his gaze from the unsettling amount of bare skin around him, and he muttered softly to himself, pondering the uncharacteristically cryptic response the little Watcher had given him. What did the day of the month have to do with dragging him up a crowded, noisy mountain, being shamelessly gawked at by barely-dressed socialites?
"You haven't figured it out yet?" The air suddenly tasted strongly of the sea, and Vatnir turned his head to find Tekēhu looming over his shoulder, that seemingly permanent sensual grin still chiseled into his perfect face. "I say, you are a rare one, friend Vatnir. I almost envy you, your innocence..."
"Don't tease him, Tekēhu." Pallegina's voice had an edge to it– more than usual, even– but Vatnir still spotted a tiny smile playing on the feathered woman's lips. Until she addressed him, of course, and her typical cool scowl returned. "We are heading for the Luminous Bathhouse, priest. The proprietor offers use of the facilities free of charge to all Godlike patrons after sunset on the third Rytlingsdag of every calendar month."
Tekēhu laughed and his hand fell heavily on Vatnir's shoulder, his knobbly knees knocking together under the blow. "Ekera, just so! And he has done so every month for at least as long as I have been in the city, if not longer. A truly magnanimous soul, my heavenly half-brother Ganor. And a wise leader our little Watcher is, to take advantage of such a generous deal!" His sharp, white smile gleamed in the arcane lamplight, and the sickly little elf winced.
The bathhouse. They were going to the bathhouse, ostensibly for a bath. And...
"And... the Duskspeaker expects me to go in there?" Vatnir's near-constant trembling intensified for a moment as he considered the implications. Oh, gods, was he actually going to have to disrobe in public, in front of everyone? In front of the Watcher and her little wizard boyfriend and that horrid animancer woman? ...And was everyone else going to...?
Tekēhu blinked at the horned man, oblivious. "Well... ekera, yes, of course. The baths have no entry fee for Godlikes this evening, we are Godlikes–"
"–and the Watcher likes to take good care of her crew," Pallegina finished for him, slowing her pace to match Vatnir's. She craned her neck to gaze into his face, a spark of concern in her golden eyes. "...Although she would understand, I think, if you'd rather not participate."
"Don't get my hopes up, serra, please," Ydwin sighed as she strolled quickly past the little cluster of Godlikes, and Vatnir shot her a vicious glare that she did not notice at all. Tíkka.
Tekēhu actually gasped, and Vatnir found himself tolerating the man's gigantic, clammy hands on his shoulders yet again. "Not participate? Oh, my dear lady knight, you mustn't suggest such wicked ideas to one who has never experienced the pleasures of the Luminous Bathhouse before! Especially on this day of all days! To allow this poor, pitiable man to pass up the opportunity to luxuriate in those magical waters and not pay a pand for the privilege– it's a crime, I say, and one that I simply cannot condone." He squeezed the priest's shoulders to emphasize his feelings on the matter, and Vatnir grunted in annoyance, wriggling angrily out of the well-meaning fishman's grip. Tekēhu looked positively wounded.
"You will go to the bathhouse with us, won't you?" The watershaper's wet, black eyes fixed themselves on Vatnir, shining opalescent in the streetlights. "You must!"
"Unless you would prefer not to," Pallegina insisted, shooting the tentacle-headed man a look halfway between warning and plea, before turning her attention back to Vatnir, that same concern from before still gleaming in her keen eyes. "You seem to be a bit... overwhelmed by the city. If the bathhouse seems like it might be too much for you, there is no shame in admitting that. But ultimately, the choice is yours to make."
It took the priest a moment to realize that the other two had stopped talking and were staring at him, waiting for him to make up his mind now that his options had been presented. His eyes darted quickly between the other two Godlikes– Tekēhu, making sad eyes at him like an orphaned seal pup, and Pallegina, her cool aloofness only slightly betrayed by one feathered eyebrow cocked ever-so-slightly higher than the other.
And then he looked past them to the fore of their little group, at the Duskspeaker marching confidently up the hill, her broad hips swaying alluringly beneath her bountiful burgundy curls. At Aloth next to her, the muscles in his shoulders and neck taut and firm beneath his smooth, flawless skin. ...At that hairy blue gremlin of a pirate, practically hanging from Ydwin's elbow, cracking wise and peeking back over his shoulder to point and smirk at Vatnir. At Ydwin, responding with yet another infuriating snicker that came, no doubt, at his expense. Vatnir glared petulantly back down at his feet, embarrassed and angry and conflicted.
If I go in there, they'll– everyone in there will see me, look at me. At my ruined body, my horns, what remains of my face. He could already picture the disgust on the other bathers' faces, hear the jeers and exaggerated retching that often accompanied his appearance in a public place. Not that others' opinions of his body had ever really mattered to him before, but it hit a little differently without his High Harbinger clout to protect him. And I'll see them, too. All of them, with... everything that implies. He stole another glimpse at the Watcher's curves, her full, round behind wiggling as she walked– and he instantly regretted it, guilt and shame bubbling up in his gullet like bile.
But... it'll feel nice, at least, the bath will. Probably. And all the other Godlikes there will surely divert some of the attention from me, at least insofar as providing a bunch of other strange bodies for the nosy fools to gawp at. And even if I do have to suffer the indignity of being stared at and mocked, they'll have to endure the experience of perceiving me, too. Hel, it might be worth it to attend just to spoil Ydwin's evening... He pictured the haughty little shrew gathering her things and storming off in a huff, her precious bath ruined by his mere presence, and his lipless mouth twitched into a mangled grin.
"Oh, I..." he sighed, picking absently at a scab, "I could join in just this one time, I suppose. If, as you say, I must." He rolled his eyes back up to meet Tekēhu's, just in time for the giant to pull him close with one arm, crushing the frail priest against his moist, briney torso in an overly energetic side hug.
"Marvelous!" he cried merrily as he lifted the poor man off his feet. "My friend, you won't regret this. I'll make certain of it!"
"Di verus, I think he might regret it a bit already," Pallegina chuckled as she picked up her pace again, the matter settled at last. "Do put him down before you hurt him, aimico."
"Too late," Vatnir gurgled, writhing miserably in the aumaua's grip. This was going to be a difficult evening.
